A pharmacist's "medical Duolingo": 48 ratings, squeezes into the top 10 of Germany's Medical Top Grossing chart
What it is A German medical-career version of Duolingo: one of 7 tracks covering pharmacy, nursing, MFA, emergency care and more, with quizzes, case studies and XP. Annual subscription €69.99, lifetime one-time purchase €199.99.
Why it took off The founder used the question bank and users from his older tutoring platform, Pharmazing, to cold-start the app. In late October he paid nursing creators to promote it, which generated a wave of positive reviews, and he placed the paywall inside onboarding. The German medical charts have a very low bar: a few annual subscriptions a day can get an app into the top 10.
BHow you could copy it Don't go head-on in German. Pick a language with lots of career exams and aging apps, start with one profession's quiz bank, have creators in that profession promote it, and launch ahead of the school intake and exam seasons.

German pharmacist Emin Karayel launched Medizingo in August, a German app that turns exams for nursing, emergency care and clinic assistant careers into Duolingo-style levels. By November 6, it had only 40 ratings in the German App Store yet ranked #9 in the medical Top Grossing chart. What this shows is less about how strong the product is and more about how empty the chart is. Below: what it is, how it climbed, where the money comes from, and whether the approach works in another language or another profession.
A nursing creator's ad
On 2026 Oct 27, a care-tips creator named juliaf.pflege posted an Instagram Reel labeled "Anzeige" (ad). The caption read:
Lernen für die Pflege muss nicht aus dicken Büchern bestehen.
Roughly: "You don't have to slog through thick textbooks to study nursing." It went on to say you could practice with Medizingo and look at cases from everyday nursing, "from bronze to gold," and ended with "just search Medizingo in the App Store or Google Play." The video was also posted to Facebook and drew about 3,800,98 reactions, a small amount. Another nursing creator, pflegerugur, posted two "Werbung Medizingo" ads around that time, one of them in Nov 2.
Three days after the Oct 30 post, Medizingo jumped in the German medical Top Grossing chart from around #19 to #21, then to #6. Google Play installs also clearly sped up around Oct 31 and Nov 2. An ad from a small creator with a few thousand views pushed an app into the top 10 of a category chart, which shows how low the bar is.
What it is
In one line: a German medical-career version of Duolingo. You start by picking a track, of which there are 7: pharmacy, PTA (pharmacy technical assistant), medicine, nursing, MFA (medical office assistant), Rettungssanitäter (EMT), and Notfallsanitäter (paramedic). You then move through chapters, topics and levels. Question types include multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank and matching; there's a medical-term Hangman, "term merging," simulations and patient dialogues, and each answer comes with an explanation. There's also XP, streaks, a bronze-to-gold ranking system, and a mascot, a pill called Pilli. The official listing says it has 500k+ questions and 10k+ cases.
It's free to start, with paid unlocks: €9.99/month, €69.99/year, or a lifetime purchase at €199.99. On iOS there are two additional "Sonderangebot" (special offer) tiers. The onboarding flow shows paid plans right away, with a trial, and shows them again once the trial ends.
It updates often: it shipped 1.0.26 versions in Nov 6, and in under three months has over twenty releases.
How big it really is
| Metric | Metric | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| German Medical Top Grossing chart | Ranked #6–22, #11-06 on 9 | App Store,10-28~11-06 |
| Austria Medical Top Free chart | Ranked #2–8 | App Store, same period |
| Overall chart | Never charted | Same as above |
| iOS ratings | 48 across all storefronts, 40 in Germany, averaging 4.97; only 10 more in 5 days | App Store,11-06 |
| Google Play installs | 6,187, up 1,112 in the last 7 days, about 150 per day | Google Play,11-06 |
| Combined downloads across both stores | 100+ per day | AppInsider estimate |
So this is a small product with a hundred or two downloads a day and roughly a few thousand to €10–20K in monthly revenue (an inference; Apple doesn't publish revenue). It reached the top 10 mainly because its chart is so empty. On the same chart in Nov 6, #6 PMcardio had only 71 ratings, #16 MediSearch AI had 38, and #24 was the publisher Thieme's PROMETHEUS LernKarten with just 24. #1 AMBOSS had 33k ratings, a gap of hundreds of times. At a €70 annual price and €200 lifetime, a few sales a day is enough to hold a top-10 spot (an inference).
Why this founder could pull it off
Medizingo didn't start from zero. Karayel has been running Pharmazing since 2021, a tutoring platform for pharmacy students and PTA trainees, with course materials, question banks, AI Q&A and 3D models. Pharmazing's own app has 231 ratings in Germany, its website says it has helped 12k+ students, and it has 15k+ app users. The German federal PTA association (BVpta) and the trade magazine PTA Heute have both written about it.
Medizingo's terms and privacy pages still sit under pharmazing.de. Early reviews said things like "finally something for pharmacy students" and "PTA trainee," so the first users clearly came over from the older product. That gave him three things followers didn't have:
- Ready-made content and a team. 3 months to build 7 tracks and 500k questions, built on the old question bank plus bulk generation (an inference: most of that volume is likely AI-generated).
- Existing channels. The TikTok account @pharmazing has 10k followers. Since November it has posted two to four "organ personification" quiz videos a day, each getting a few hundred to nine hundred views, ending with "more questions in the app." There's also an Instagram account, @pharmazing.app (6,600 followers). He also says he works with student unions and PTA schools at several universities in Germany and Austria.
- Good timing. It launched in mid-August, just ahead of Germany's 8 vocational training intake and September school year, and then October's university winter-semester start.
On that base, he took the pharmacy playbook sideways into nursing, MFA and emergency care, professions with far more people. Roughly 50k+ people start nursing training each year, and about 17k start MFA training (estimate, not verified). What these learners have now is mostly single-profession, old-style flashcard apps.
Where users come from
- Creator ads. The two nursing creators above both had captions that told viewers to "search for the name in the store," which also helps store search ranking. So far only these 3 posts have been found, there may be more. No Meta or TikTok ad campaigns were found, but not finding them doesn't mean they didn't run.
- Existing users and his own accounts. Pharmacy and PTA users from Pharmazing, plus a TikTok account updated every day.
- Search. medizingo.de has a "XX Lern-App" landing page for each of the 7 professions. The name borrows Duolingo's sound, so anyone searching for "medical Duolingo" gets it right away.
- A wave of concentrated five-star reviews. Of the 14 reviews visible on the German store, every one is 5 stars, and 8 of them are packed into the 4 days from Oct 19 to 22. They're all long, and they read alike: "I've been using Medizingo for a few weeks now... I especially love the case studies and difficulty levels" and "I mostly use it on the train or when I have ten spare minutes." The version released in the same period added a "registration reminder." It looks like an organized push for good reviews, but whether it came from in-app prompts, community recruiting, or paid writers, I can't tell.
- Paywall and price testing. The paywall shows up in onboarding, with a trial and a special offer tier. The lifetime price on Android has been changed several times: $47.99 → $109.99 → $234.99 → $184.99 (per AppInsider).
These moves all came together in late October, followed by the jump on Oct 30.
Why users pay
The word that keeps coming up in reviews is "Abwechslung" (variety, not boring), along with "not just mindless multiple-choice." One Oct 22 review is titled "Super für die Pflegeausbildung" (perfect for nursing training). The writer says they're studying nursing and had been looking for an app to review medical basics. A competing nursing quiz app has a bad review saying "this is just a question bank," which Medizingo positions itself against.
Keep in mind, though: ratings rose by only 7 in 3 days, and organic growth is still weak. Gamification gives creators an easy line to pitch, but what pushed it onto the chart was an empty category, a high price point, existing users and small-creator ads, all combined.
Who it's competing with
| Competitors | Scale | How it differs from Medizingo |
|---|---|---|
| AMBOSS | DE store 33k ratings, Top Grossing #1 | Adds a question bank to a knowledge base for medical students and doctors. Professional, expensive, not gamified. Doesn't cover PTA, MFA, or first responders. |
| Thieme (PROMETHEUS, retten, etc.) | 24 ratings, Top Grossing #24 | Digitized textbooks from a publisher, one product per field |
| Notfallsanitäter(Anatol Mayen) | 199 ratings, launched 2013 | Only emergency medical technicians (NotSan), study cards |
| MFA LernApp Abschlussprüfung | 65 ratings, launched 2026-02 | Only MFA exam practice, no gamification |
| Pflege Examen: Quiz & Lernen | 6 rating | Nursing exam question bank, criticized as "just a question bank" |
| SlayMed | 14 rating | Medical student flashcards with an AI coach, no gamification |
| simpleclub | Big | Full-subject vocational school videos, not medical-specific |
| Pharmingo, MedicalCase, Rounds, etc. | All small | Also a "Duolingo for medicine," but in English, Arabic, and Spanish. No German. |
In German, the only app I've found that puts 7 healthcare professions into one app and makes it a level-based game. I haven't seen a direct copy yet either. "MFA Prüfung: Abschluss 2027," launched October 1, also says "gamified course," but it only covers MFA and has no ratings yet. The fastest copycat has been the same developer: MediLingo came out in September, teaching medical German to foreign healthcare workers, same playbook, 9 ratings in the DE store.
Revenue isn't public, nobody discusses it on X, and there's no press coverage. People who know it are mostly in German nursing and pharmacy circles.
If it were you
B. The approach is worth learning, but don't go head-to-head with it in German. What you can copy is the combination: a smaller language, professional licensing exams, high-ticket subscriptions, and an empty category chart. You won't get his old question bank or his existing users, and a medical content error is a reputation disaster.
Who it's for: 1–2 people, ideally one who is a nurse, pharmacist, or paramedic themselves, or who teaches at a vocational school, so they can vet the content and know people in the field. Best if your native language has many professional exams and few, old apps. (Inference: French nursing and nursing-assistant exams, Dutch, Polish, Italian, and Turkish are worth checking first.)
Who it's not for: People with no industry background who plan to generate medical questions entirely with AI; anyone who wants to build another 7-1 clone in German to compete head-on (he already has the spot and updates weekly); anyone targeting the English market (there's already a crowd of medical Duolingo-style apps, and AMBOSS-type players).
How to build it: Pick one profession, one country, one exam. Don't spread across 7 fields at launch. Start the question bank with past exams and the official curriculum, use AI only to expand items and draft explanations, and have a human review every question. Copy the format: pick a field, chapter-based levels, XP, streaks, ranks, case questions, explanations after each answer. Put a paywall plus trial in the onboarding flow, offer monthly, annual, and lifetime options, and test prices on Android first. Borrow Duolingo's naming style.
How to get users: Find small creators in the profession on Instagram and TikTok (nursing and EMT accounts with a few thousand to tens of thousands of followers). Post sponsored short videos with the ad label, with copy that tells viewers to search for the app name in the store. Post daily quiz clips yourself. Partner with vocational schools, student councils, and clinical mentors. Time the launch to local semester starts and exam seasons.
When to launch by: European vocational training usually starts in 8 or September, and exams cluster in spring and summer. Launch before March 2027 to catch one pre-exam push; at the latest, launch before the August start of the autumn intake.
Signs you've got it wrong: (1) In the medical or education Top Grossing chart of your chosen country, the top 10 are all apps with thousands of ratings, meaning the chart isn't empty. (2) You run creator ads, installs go up, but your chart rank doesn't move, meaning this audience won't pay 70 EUR a year for exam prep. (3) A big player like Medizingo or AMBOSS ships a version in your language. (4) Look back at Medizingo itself: if its rating growth stays at single digits per week and its chart rank slides out of the top 20 after the October push, the spike was bought, and the ceiling for this path is lower than it looks.

Why Medizingo (iOS id6769168753) made it onto the charts
Research date 2026-11-06. Sources: our appstore / googleplay / metaads libraries (agent-im machine, data as of 2026-11-06), Apple's lookup API, the App Store DE pages, medizingo.de, pharmazing.de, BVpta, public Instagram/Facebook posts, TikHub, and AppInsider.
One line
Medizingo is a German medical and healthcare-profession "Duolingo-style" level-based learning app, launched 2026-08-12 by German pharmacist Emin Karayel, founder of the pharmacy tutoring platform Pharmazing. It covers 7 fields (pharmacy, PTA, medicine, nursing, MFA clinic assistants, RS first responders, NotSan paramedics) and claims 500k+ questions, 10k+ cases, and 10 kinds of mini-games, with a mascot named "Pilli," XP, streaks, and ranks. Subscriptions are 9.99 EUR/month or 69.99 EUR/year, with lifetime access at 199.99 EUR.
It reached the top 10 of the DE medical Top Grossing chart mainly through three things: first, the German medical Top Grossing chart has a low bar to entry; second, the question bank and content were reused and expanded from the older product Pharmazing, and the founder's own tutoring business, TikTok, and university partnerships brought the first users; third, in late October it ran promotion posts from small nursing creators with "Anzeige" labels and prompted reviews during launch. In product terms, it's the first app in German to roll out "Duolingo-style gamification" across 7 medical professions at once. What actually keeps it on the chart is that lifetime and annual plans at high prices land in a small chart where few apps sell paid. The "differentiation pulled users in" part matters less than it seems.
1. Data: how big it is now
- iOS ranking (appstore library app_day/chart_rank, 2026-10-28–11-06):
- DE medical Top Grossing has ranged between #6 and #22, 11-06 at #9; Top Free has ranged between #15 and #45.
- AT medical Top Free #2–8, Top Grossing #4–17.
- CH appears only sporadically (11-06 Top Grossing #70).
- Never reached the overall chart.
- iOS rating count: 48 across all storefronts (card data, 11-06). DE accounts for 40, averaging 4.97. On 10-28, DE was at 35, and it added only 5 over 10 days.
- Google Play (googleplay library): package com.medizingo.android, launched in September 2026. Installs went from 10-29 5,075 to 11-06 6,187, adding 1,112 over the last 7 days, about 150 a day. Ranked #31-79 on the German Medical free chart, and 11-06 at #32. AppInsider estimates 100+ combined downloads per day across both stores.
- Benchmark: among the top 40 on the German Medical Top Grossing chart 11-06, #6 PMcardio has only 71 ratings, #16 MediSearch AI only 38, and #24 Thieme's PROMETHEUS LernKarten only 24. In other words, this chart can be cracked with a few annual or lifetime subscriptions a day to land in the top 10. #1 is AMBOSS, with 33k ratings.
- Takeaway:
- Holding a top 10 spot on the German Medical Top Grossing chart shows people are paying. But the bar is low, so total revenue is most likely in the range of a few thousand to maybe €10-20K a month (inference, not verified).
- Android volume looks much larger than the iOS rating count suggests. Android has over 6 thousand installs and iOS has 48 ratings. Using typical rating rates, iOS is probably also in the thousands of downloads (inference).
2. Competitors: who else does the same thing
| Competitors | Platform | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Medizingo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AMBOSS Medizin- & Pflegewissen | iOS/Android/web | 2015 | DE store 33k ratings, medical Top Grossing #1 | It's a knowledge base plus question bank for medical students and doctors: expensive and specialized, with no gamification, and it doesn't cover PTA/MFA/paramedics. |

| MFA LernApp Abschlussprüfung(Johannes Tils) | iOS | 2026-02 | 65 ratings, 4.6 stars | Only MFA exam simulation. Medizingo treats MFA as one of 7 tracks. |
| MFA Prüfung: Abschluss 2027(Junaid Umar) | iOS | 2026-10-01 | 0 rating | Also says "gamified course", only MFA, and hasn't gained traction yet. |
| Pflege Examen: Quiz & Lernen(Sandro De Rose) | iOS/Android | 2025-12 | 6 rating | Nursing exam drills. One negative review says "it's just a question bank". |
| Pflegecampus, QuizAcademy Pflege, kreawi Pflege-Examen | iOS/web | Around 2021 | 115 ratings (Pflegecampus) | B2B institutional training, or card drills. |
| SlayMed(futureDOCTOR) | iOS/Android | 2026-06 | 14 ratings, Play 50+ installs | Medical student cards (FSRS spaced repetition), an AI tutor, Physikum mock exams. No games. |
| simpleclub (MFA/Pflege subjects) | iOS/Android | Already live | Large (full-subject vocational schools) | Mainly video lessons, not a medical-specific product |
| Pharmingo (English/Arabic) | iOS/Android | 2026-03 | 10 rating | Same "Duolingo-style pharmacology" concept (XP, leagues), but no German. |
| MedicalCase, Doctolingo, Rounds and other "Duolingo for medicine" apps. | Web / iOS | 2025~2026 | Small | English or Spanish markets, aimed only at doctors or medical students. |
| Duolingo itself. | big tech | — | Huge | Teaches only language, with no medical content. |
Conclusion:
- In the German market, the only app I found that covers 7 medical professions in one place and uses Duolingo-style gamified levels is Medizingo.
- Each professional track (NotSan, MFA, nursing) has single-purpose drill apps, but they are small card-based question banks with ratings in the dozens to low hundreds.
- The big players, AMBOSS and Thieme, focus on medical students and doctors, and position themselves as "tools" and "textbooks".
- The English-speaking world has many "medical Duolingos", but none in German.
3. Where users came from (growth tactics)
- Paid creator promotion (confirmed):
- The nursing creator juliaf.pflege on Instagram/Facebook (FB page "Julia F", account name "Durchs Leben mit Humor") posted a Reel labeled "Anzeige / Werbung" on 2026-10-27, captioned "Lernen für die Pflege muss nicht aus dicken Büchern bestehen… Such im App Store einfach nach Medizingo" ("Studying for nursing doesn't have to mean thick books… just search for Medizingo in the App Store"). That post has about 3.8K views and 98 reactions on FB.
- The nursing creator pflegerugur (Ugur) posted at least two "Werbung Medizingo" Reels, one in late October and one in 11-02. The captions name "Pflege, Medizin oder Rettungsdienst" (nursing, medicine or emergency services).
- The timing lines up: 10-30 climbed from #19-21 to #6 on the German Top Grossing chart, and Android installs clearly accelerated around 10-31 and 11-02. The play is to find small nursing creators, label the posts as ads, and tell viewers to "search Medizingo in the store", which also helps store search ranking.
- Owned content and migration of existing users (confirmed):
- The founder's TikTok @pharmazing has 10K followers and 164 posts. Since November they have posted 2-4 "personified organ" quiz Reels a day, each getting a few hundred to nine hundred views, with captions pointing to "more questions in the app".
- There is also @pharmazingde on Instagram, plus @pharmazing.app (6.6K followers).
- Pharmazing says on its TikTok bio that it has helped over 12 thousand students, the app has over 15 thousand users (pharmazing.de/ueber-uns), and there are 106 Trustpilot reviews.
- Medizingo's terms and privacy pages sit under pharmazing.de, and the website link on the App Store page also points to pharmazing.de. Early reviews include "Endlich was für Pharmazeuten" (finally something for pharmacy students) and "PTA Schüler", suggesting the first users came from Pharmazing's pharmacy and PTA communities.
- University and school partnerships (founder's own account, not separately verified for Medizingo): pharmazing.de says it works with several universities in Germany and Austria through their Fachschaft (student councils) and PTA schools, recommends it to students, and has mailed study materials and pens to several universities. The BVpta website (federal PTA association) and the magazine "PTA Heute" have covered Pharmazing.
- SEO and store search (layout confirmed):
- medizingo.de has a landing page for each of 7 professions, such as /lernbereiche/rettungssanitaeter/, /pflegefachkraft/ and /humanmedizin/, each titled "XX Lern-App" ("XX Study App").
- The name Medizingo borrows the sound of Duolingo. Users instantly think "medical Duolingo", which makes it easy to find when searching for this kind of app.
- Incentivized reviews (strong signal, not confirmed as fake):
- The appstore library captured 14 German reviews, all 5 stars. 8 of them fall within 10-19-10-22, a 4-day window. They are all long, with highly similar structure: "Ich nutze Medizingo… Besonders gefallen mir die Fallbeispiele / Schwierigkeitsgrade…" ("I use Medizingo… I especially like the case examples / difficulty levels…"). They read like AI or template writing.
- The release notes for version 1.0.23, from the same period, mention "Registrierungserinnerungen" (registration reminders).
- The German average rating is 4.97.
- Verdict: this looks like an organized wave of five-star reviews, possibly from in-app prompts plus community drives, or from paid writers. Impossible to tell which. Either way, it helps store conversion.
- Paywall and pricing experiments (confirmed):
- Release notes say "Angebote laden bereits während des Onboardings" (offers load during onboarding) and "Nach einem schon genutzten Probezeitraum erscheint zuverlässig das passende Premium-Angebot" (after a trial has been used, the matching premium offer reliably appears). That means there is a paywall in onboarding, with a trial.
- The iOS app has two "Sonderangebot" (special offer) SKUs.
- AppInsider logged several adjustments to Android in-app purchase prices: the lifetime tier went from $47.99 to $109.99, then to $234.99, then to $184.99. That suggests intensive price testing.
- Paid acquisition (not found): The metaads library has no advertiser for medizingo or pharmazing. metaads only tracks advertisers that show up in the top of keyword results, so not finding them doesn't mean they didn't spend.
- Media and X (none): In the last 90 days, x-radar returned 0 results each for searches on medizingo and pharmazing. I also found no media coverage of Medizingo.
4. Why it broke out (the reasons)
- Low bar on the chart, and high-ticket pricing makes it easy to rank: Apps ranked #6-16 on the German Medical Top Grossing chart have only a few dozen ratings. With price points like €69.99 per year or €199.99 for lifetime, a few sales a day can put an app in the top 10.
- Content reuse keeps cold-start costs low: Since 2021, Pharmazing has built up pharmacy and PTA lecture notes, questions, and a team ("KI-Experten, Data-Scientists", i.e. AI experts and data scientists). That is why Medizingo could claim 3k questions, 500k cases and 10 tracks within 7 months. A volume that large is most likely AI-generated in bulk (inference).
- Own channels: existing users, TikTok/Instagram accounts, and department partnerships brought in the first users and the first reviews. Launched mid-August, just in time for the German vocational training intake running from 8 to September; October is the winter semester start.
- Concentrated push in late October: Nursing creators' Anzeige Reels, a wave of five-star reviews, and the onboarding paywall with special-offer SKUs all went live together, and 10-30 quickly rose to #6 on the Top Grossing chart.
- An unserved niche: Nursing, MFA and paramedic training each produce large numbers of new students every year (inference: roughly 50k+ start nursing training annually, and about 17k start MFA training, not verified). The existing options are mostly outdated card apps. Medizingo's pitch is "gamification plus cases", and reviews repeatedly mention "Abwechslung" (variety, not boring) and "nicht nur stumpf Multiple-Choice" (not just rote multiple choice).
5. Differentiation
- Format: Duolingo-style levels with XP, streaks, Bronze-to-Gold ranks, the mascot Pilli, 10 mini-game types (Hangman word guessing, term matching, dialogue scenarios), plus case questions. Competitors are mostly flashcards and multiple choice.
- Coverage: one app covers 7 professions, from medical students through MFA and first responders. Competitors each focus on a single track.
- Language: German only. The English-speaking "medical Duolingos" (Pharmingo, MedicalCase, Rounds) don't reach this market.
- Is this why it took off?
- The differentiator is a one-line hook creators can repeat ("Lernen muss nicht aus dicken Büchern bestehen", learning doesn't have to mean thick books), which makes promotion easy.
- But its ranking is mainly driven by low-barrier charts, high ticket prices, owned users, and creator promotion.
- Review growth is still slow, with only 3 added in 7 days, so it's too early to say the product format itself is driving organic growth.
- So the differentiation is necessary, but not the main cause.
6. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: buzzing in small circles. Revenue isn't public (no TrustMRR listing, no founder posts), nobody discusses it on X, and there's no press coverage. Those who know it are in German nursing and pharmacy circles: creator ad posts and the founder's TikTok.
- Copycats: none found copying it directly.
- "MFA Prüfung: Abschluss 2027" (Junaid Umar), launched 2026-10-01, also pitches "Interactive & Gamified Lessons", but covers only MFA and has no ratings yet. Whether it's connected to Medizingo is unverified.
- The same developer, September, also shipped MediLingo: German medical language learning for foreign healthcare workers, 4 professions, Duolingo-style, 9 ratings in the German store. He's replicating the same playbook.
7. Takeaways
- The combination: a minority language, professional exams, high ticket prices, and a low-barrier category bestseller chart. In the German and Austrian medical and education bestseller charts, a few dozen ratings can land a top 10 spot.
- One question engine plus a content factory, expanded horizontally across professions. He has already cloned three apps: Pharmazing, Medizingo, and MediLingo.
- Hire small niche creators for Anzeige reels that tell viewers to "search the name in the store": low cost, and it also helps store search rankings.
- The onboarding goes straight to a paywall with a trial, adds a lifetime one-time purchase tier, and runs aggressive price tests (the Android lifetime tier was tested between $48 and $235).
- The name borrows Duolingo's sound (XX-ingo), so users instantly get what it is.
8. Still unclear
- Actual revenue and paying user count: Apple doesn't disclose them, and the low chart barrier makes precise estimates impossible.
- Quality and source of the 500k questions (share generated by AI) and content accuracy: errors in medical content carry reputational risk.
- How the 10-19–10-22 batch of positive reviews came about: in-app prompts, community vote-pushing, or paid writers can't be told apart.
- Scale of creator promotion: only 2 creators and 3 posts were found, there may be more. Whether there's Meta or TikTok paid ads wasn't checked.
- Retention and renewals: launched less than 3 months ago, so there's no data yet on annual renewals.
