# "Can't sleep, tell me the Christian conspiracy theories you believe the most": French prayer app Loucio, built by two brothers, climbed the charts alongside Hallow through TikTok alt accounts

**What it is** : a French Catholic app with voice chat with an AI companion that remembers you, daily gospel readings, prayers including the rosary with breath pacing, and an evening examination of conscience, sold as a weekly subscription.

**Why it took off** : four TikTok persona accounts post 5-second white-text videos every day, the top one reaching 1.64M views, and each account carries its own tracking link. It hit at the right time, as young French adults return to church (adult baptisms up threefold in ten years) and around All Saints' and All Souls' Day, and nobody had made "French + Catholic + a companion you can talk to" work before.

**A** **How you could follow it** : copy the whole setup into another language or denomination (Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Protestant, and so on): companion + daily scripture + weekly subscription + a public ethics charter. Two to four weeks before launch, open several persona accounts with tracking links and post on the liturgical calendar.

Grade A: the initial traction came from a persona-account playbook anyone can copy, and few people know about it yet, and other languages are still open. The bet is whether you can sustain dozens of posts a day, and whether a high-priced weekly subscription keeps believers around. Not many people know about it yet

Loucio is a French Catholic app. You can talk about faith with an AI companion called Loucio, and it also offers a daily gospel, rosary prayers, and evening examen. It costs €8.99/week. It launched in Sep 29, and it's run by a two-person company registered at the end of August. Within 5 weeks of launch, it was already in the same tier as Hallow on the French App Store Reference Top Grossing chart. Its users come almost entirely from four "devout girl" alt accounts on TikTok, whose bios all say "I found my faith again with Loucio."

### Sep 15, a video with 1.64M views

9 月 15 日,TikTok 账号 @clea.viral 发了一条 6 秒的视频,屏幕中间一行白字:「J'arrive pas à dormir. Racontez-moi vos théories du complot chrétiennes les plus flippantes auxquelles vous croyez à 100%」(我睡不着,跟我说说你们百分之百相信的、最吓人的基督教阴谋论)。配文只有一句「Donnez moi les pires svppp」(拜托,来点最离谱的)。

The comments exploded. The top comment, with 74k likes: "I think humans edited the Bible to control us better." The second, with 55k likes, said it was Adam who ate the forbidden fruit and blamed Eve, which is why the Adam's apple got stuck in his throat. Another comment read: "I stayed under this video for 30 minutes, just for the comments." The video ended up with 1.65M views and 162k likes (TikTok, see 11-06).

Loucio wasn't on the App Store yet at that point; the iOS version came out two weeks later. The account had only 3,129 followers, its bio read "J'ai retrouvé ma foi avec Loucio" (I found my faith again with Loucio), and the link was loucio.com/clea.

### What it is

The first line of the store page: "Going back to church and talking to God isn't easy, but you can learn it again." The app handles three things:

- **Talking** : chat with Loucio by voice or text, "like with a friend." It responds, goes quiet when you want quiet, and remembers what moved you last time, picking up the thread the next day.

- **Daily gospel** : each morning it pushes the day's gospel in the official French Church liturgical translation. Loucio reads it aloud, then leaves a pause for you to reflect.

- **Prayer** : the Our Father, Hail Mary and the rosary, guided line by line with breath pacing. In the evening there's an Ignatian examination of conscience.

It makes money from subscriptions: €8.99 a week, €14.99 a month, or €59.99 to €89.99 a year (annual pricing still being tested), with a 7-day free trial (per the terms page on the website). The website also carries an ethics charter that references the Vatican's AI document this year, "Antiqua et Nova": it doesn't replace the sacraments, stays faithful to the magisterium, and its content is reviewed by priests and laypeople. For a product that needs to convince devout believers that it's fine to talk faith with an AI, the charter is itself the selling point.

Early reviews say the same: "I can ask my faith questions whenever they come up, and the answers are clear"; "It helped me find time to pray at night, and the routine I took away from it is useful" (App Store France, 9-29).

### How far it has gone

| Date | Combined ratings across countries | Added that day |
|---|---|---|
| 10-28 | 112 | — |
| 10-30 | 138 | 23 |
| 11-01 | 199 | 34 |
| 11-03 | 241 | 18 |
| 11-06 | 274 | 9 |

App Store across all countries. 11-06 France accounts for 256 entries, with 7 new in the last 122 days, average score 4.82.

Small footprint, high rank. On France's Reference Top Grossing chart, it has sat between #18 and #52 over the past two weeks, peaking at #18 on 11-05. On the same day's chart, Hallow was #18, and Hallow has 1,350 ratings in France. The English-language Bible Chat was #24, and the French prayer app YouPray was #34. Getting this high with only a couple hundred ratings suggests a fair share of the people who show up are paying (inference).

On Google Play, installs went from 10-30 in 533 to 11-06 in 1,860, with the single biggest day on the 11-02 All Souls' Day, adding 625. The iOS peak also fell between 10-30 and 11-01, right around All Saints' Day.

It has also shown up on free charts in French-speaking places such as Senegal, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mali, Belgium and Switzerland, with Mauritius as its best at #10. Those markets have almost no ratings, so the likely explanation is that French TikTok videos spilled over into them.

Revenue isn't public. The third-party estimator Searvia puts it at $1K to $5K a month. Unverified.

### Where the users come from: four "devout girls"

At least four accounts can be confirmed, all running the same playbook:

| Account | Followers | Top video | Bio |
|---|---|---|---|
| @clea.viral | 3,129 | 1.65M views (9-15) | J'ai retrouvé ma foi avec Loucio |
| @lea.chretienne | 2,300 | 469k views (10-15) | Retrouve son chemin sur Loucioapp |
| @pauline.catho | 2,866 | 357k views (10-17) | Vers le chemin de Dieu avec Loucio |
| @julia.believe3 | 6,696 | 226k views (11-04) | Jésus d'abord grâce à Loucio |

TikTok, 11-06.

Every video runs about 5 seconds, and many have identical lengths. Each has one line of white text on screen, with a caption of just emojis and #tiktokchretienne (Christian TikTok hashtag). Each account posts two to four videos a day and relies on the recommendation feed, not follower count. The app's name is slipped into the white text, as if mentioned in passing:

- "Just heard a group of teens at McDonald's say they're really looking forward to Mass on Sunday. Gen Z is coming back to Christ. Yellow videos got banned, Loucio prayer exploded. Faith isn't uncool at all." (@lea.chretienne, 469k views)

- "Be a bad Christian: don't sleep around, don't drink matcha, say no to piercings, pray with Loucio, go to Mass." (@julia.believe, 3.16M views)

- "My ex said he was going to enlist, then after zero contact he suddenly sent me this: 'If I die in battle, people will find a photo of you on me, along with our Loucio daily prayer streak.' What should I do?" (@pauline.catho, 187k views)

- "Just heard young people at McDonald's say they're doing the Advent challenge this year (pray on Loucio for 26 nights in a row until Christmas)." (@julia.believe, 3,11-584k views)

The content is half emotional and dating material (love, relationships, chastity), the kind of topics young people love to argue about, and half the "Gen Z returning to faith" narrative. The conspiracy-theory video doesn't mention Loucio at all; it was purely there to build reach for the account.

Each account's link is loucio.com/<name>, and clicking it redirects 307 to `/app?c=<name>`. In testing, clea, julia, lea and pauline all redirected, as did hugo and paul; a made-up name gave 404. That means at least 6 persona codes exist, and the downloads from each account can be counted precisely. I couldn't find the male accounts corresponding to hugo and paul.

Two more details: clea's viral video came two weeks before the iOS launch, and the 1.0.3 update notes say: "Discount codes for early sign-up users, enter them on the Loucio+ page." Taken together, it looks like they used TikTok to build a waitlist first, then sent codes at launch to convert people to paid (inferred).

Other channels are weak. The official Instagram @loucio.app has 2.2K followers and posts the day's gospel and saints daily. I found no ads from it in the Meta ad library (though not finding them doesn't mean none were run). No media coverage, and no one mentions it on X.

### Why now

**French young people are going back to church.** At Easter 2026, 13,234 adults were baptized in France. That is 2016 4,124 2025 higher and up over three times in ten years, and 28% more than the year before. Counting teens, the total hit 21,386, a record (French bishops' conference, RCF, Aleteia). Many of them are returning after leaving, or coming for the first time, and feel hesitant and a bit awkward. Loucio's website sorts its users into three groups: the estranged, the wounded, and the seekers. That is exactly who this is for. The TikTok line "faith isn't uncool" is also aimed at them.

**Prayer apps aren't scarce. This combination is.** There are plenty of French prayer tools. Prions, AELF, Hozana and YouPray have each been around for about ten years, but they are Scripture readers, daily Office tools and prayer communities. None of them has a companion you can talk to. English Catholic AI products exist too (Magisterium AI, Truthly, Catholic AI). They answer doctrine questions but have no daily ritual, and their French is weak. Hallow shows that Catholics will pay monthly for daily prayer, but it is thousands of pre-recorded audio tracks that will not remember what you said yesterday. Nobody had yet built the mix of French, Catholic only, talking out loud, remembering you, and a daily ritual that Loucio offers.

**Holidays gave it a push.** All Saints' Day on Nov 1 and the Day of the Dead on 2 Nov are when people think of the departed and want to pray. Both stores' single-day peaks fell on those two days.

To be clear, the product explains why people pay. Where people come from is almost entirely TikTok. The closest format, Lucerna (listed in July, later added an AI guide), has only 21 ratings. Adouras has 0.

### Who it's competing with

- **Hallow** : the world's largest Catholic prayer app. 380k ratings in the US and 1,350 in France. It relies heavily on paid acquisition and celebrity voiceovers. If it wanted to add "AI companion", it could do so at any time.

- **French copycats** : "Bible AI et Compagnon Chrétien", launched Nov 4, describes itself as "talk aloud to your AI prayer companion", nearly the same format. From 9 to October, Divine Companion, Lumen and CATHO+ (from a Côte d'Ivoire developer) also showed up. Each has only 0 to 21 ratings so far.

- **General assistants like ChatGPT** : they can talk about faith, but they do not guarantee conformity with Church teaching, do not read from the original text of an official translation, and have no daily ritual.

### If it were you

**One-line verdict** : worth following. The best way to follow is not to head-on compete in French, but to carry the whole package of "AI companion + daily ritual + weekly subscription + TikTok persona accounts" into another language or denomination.

**Who it suits** : small teams that know a religious community's language and customs (Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Philippine English, or Protestant or Orthodox), and can steadily produce dozens of short videos a day.

**Who it doesn't suit** : people with no feeling for the faith and no insiders to review content. Believers already distrust AI. One answer that goes against doctrine, or one bad review about a weekly subscription charge, will be magnified.

**How to do it:**

1. Pick a market with many believers, local-language AI religious products that are scarce, and first get the original text of an official translation along with daily Scripture readings.

2. The app does only three things: a voice-chat companion with memory, the day's readings, and prayers you recite along with. Add a streak counter.

3. Publish a public ethics charter (it does not replace sacraments, stays faithful to doctrine, and is reviewed by clergy), and place it prominently on the website and store page.

4. Copy the pricing: weekly with a 7-day trial, and run a price experiment on annual.

**How to acquire users** : two to four weeks before launch, open 4 to 6 persona accounts, each posting two to four 5-second white-text videos a day. Build reach first on topics like dating, chastity, "Gen Z returning to faith" and conspiracy theories, with the app name slipped in mid-sentence. Give each account its own link, /name → /app?c=name, and measure conversion per account: post more from the ones that take off and replace the ones that don't. Collect a waitlist before launch and send the first batch of promo codes at release. Schedule content by the religious calendar and increase volume the week before holidays.

**How long you have** : from now (starting Nov 29) through Christmas is the last big year-end window. If you miss it, wait for Lent and Easter next year (mid-February to late March 2027). Copycats already appeared in the French market in November. Other languages probably have about half a year of room (estimate).

**Signs you've misread it** : ① after the holidays, Loucio's daily rating gains stay below 10 and it drops out of the top 100 bestseller spots. That would mean the earlier wave was one-off traffic from holidays colliding with a viral hit. ② After the weekly trial ends, reviews start to cluster around "charged" and "scam", showing the high-priced weekly plan does not retain religious users. ③ TikTok starts mass-banning persona accounts that carry tracking links, and this acquisition method stops working.

### One line

A French-brothers AI spiritual companion app for Catholics, registered as a company at the end of August and launched in 29 September. It offers voice chat, a daily Gospel, the Rosary, and evening examination of conscience, on a 8.99 €/week subscription. It took off **mainly because of a set of TikTok "devout girl" persona accounts** . Each account's bio reads "I found my faith again with Loucio", and each carries a tracked personal link. A single video reached 1.64M views in the two weeks before launch. The timing rode a French Catholic revival (2026 Easter adult baptisms, 13,234 people, up over three times in ten years), plus the All Saints' and Day of the Dead holidays on 1–2 November. The product itself blends a Hallow-style subscription prayer app with AI conversation, as a French-only "companion" that is faithful to Church teaching. The differentiation makes the paid conversion hold up, but the traffic did not come from the product.

### 1. Data: how far it has gone

- **iOS ratings** (appstore library app_day, global total): 10-28 had 112 ratings, rising to 11-06 274 (9 days, +162). Daily gains were 10-30 to 11-01 at peak, reaching 23/28/34 ratings in a day, then settling to 9–15 ratings a day. France accounts for 256 ratings, +122 in the last 7 days. The iTunes lookup average is 4.82 (261 ratings, fr).

- **Bestseller chart** : in France's Reference category bestseller chart, it moves between ranks 18–52 (best 25,11-05 on 10-28, 18,11-06, 39). Comparison on the same chart: Hallow #18 (France rating 1,350), Bible Chat #24, YouPray #34 (appstore library app_profile, 11-06). **In other words, 5 weeks after launch, with only 256 ratings, it is already in the same tier as Hallow's French storefront on the Reference bestseller chart.**

- **Spread to the French-speaking world** : it has charted on free charts in Senegal, Madagascar, Mauritius (best #10), Mali, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Angola, Niger and other places in the Reference category (appstore library app_day). Ratings come almost entirely from France. Those foreign placements are most likely overflow from French TikTok content.

- **Google Play** (googleplay library): installs 10-30 to 533,11-06 to 1,860, +1,327 in the last 7 days. The single-day peak was +625 on 11-02 (Day of the Dead). AppstoreSpy estimates 10-10 installs, but only 70 are shown. On Play the developer name is "Loucio", and the listing date shows 2026-09-19.

- **Revenue** : not public. Third-party estimate from Searvia: 1K–5K USD per month (unverified). Price list (loucio.com/terms): weekly 8.99 €, monthly 14.99 €, annual 59.99–89.99 € (a price experiment in the app, with annual offered alongside weekly or monthly), 7-day free trial, subscriptions run through RevenueCat.

### 2. Competitors: who else does the same thing

| Product | Where | Launched | Scale (France storefront, 11-06) | How it differs from Loucio |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hallow | iOS/Android | 2018-12 | US store: 380k ratings, US bestseller in Reference #4. France: 1,350 ratings, Reference bestseller #18. | Content-library model (tens of thousands of pre-recorded audio prayers, celebrity voices). A French version isn't coming until around 2024. No AI companion that can chat and remembers you, and paid acquisition plus celebrity endorsements are heavy. |
| Bible Chat(Book Vitals) | iOS | 2023-05 | US store 370k ratings; France 2,455, Top Grossing #24 | A general Christian AI for chatting about the Bible. Leans Protestant, and English products are localized, not Catholic liturgy. |
| YouPray(Media Tech) | iOS | 2019-02 | France: 4,691 ratings, bestseller #34. | A long-running French Catholic prayer app, centered on content and prayer intentions. No AI voice conversation. |
| Prions (Bayard) / Magnificat / AELF liturgical texts / Prie en Chemin / Hozana | iOS/Android/web | 2010–2022 | Prions 17k ratings; AELF texts 17k; Hozana prayer community 3,438; Hozana rosary app 8,068 | Traditional tools from French dioceses and publishers: scripture reading, Liturgy of the Hours, prayer communities. Free or cheap, no companion-style AI. |
| Catho+(Connected Tech Pte) | iOS | 2026-02 | 143 rating | French Catholic daily readings plus a prayer community. A template app mass-produced by a Singapore company. |
| Lucerna(Marie-Alix Ayrault) | iOS | 2026-07 | 21 rating | French gospel, rosary, and virtual candles. The description reads "désormais un guide spirituel pour parler de votre foi", meaning a spiritual guide AI bolted on later. Its format is the closest to Loucio. |
| Adouras(NELLEOS) | iOS | 2026-07 | 0 rating | French Catholic daily prayer rhythm. Never took off. |
| Magisterium AI / Truthly / Catholic AI / Chatolic / Justin(Catholic Answers) | Web / iOS | 2023–2026 | Truthly: 6,813 US store rating, French store 9. Magisterium is mostly web-based. | An English-first "ChatGPT for Catholics" focused on Q&A and looking up doctrine. Doesn't do daily prayer rituals or voice companionship. |
| General assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini | Big-company features | — | — | Can talk about faith, but does not guarantee doctrinal conformity, does not recite original scriptural texts, and has no daily ritual. |

Bottom line: **the French Catholic market isn't short on prayer apps, and it isn't short on English Catholic AI either. But the combination of French, Catholic magisterium, voice chat that remembers you, and daily ritual hadn't been built before Loucio.**

### 3. Growth: where users come from

#### 1. TikTok persona sub-account matrix (confirmed, main channel)

TikHub pulled profiles and posts. At least 4 French "Christian girl" persona accounts are confirmed. Their bios all say Loucio, and the links all go to loucio.com/<name>:

- **@clea.viral** : 3,129 followers, 720k total likes, 221 posts. Bio: "J'ai retrouvé ma foi avec Loucio🥳", link loucio.com/clea. Pinned post: 2026-09-15 days ago, 1.65M views, 162k likes (the app was on iOS only from 9-29). Another 9-10-day-old post, "Loucio m'a aidé à me rapprocher de Dieu", has 26k views. One caption reads "rejoins la communauté Loucio, je veux te voir au paradis".

- **@julia.believe3** : 6,696 followers, 1.26M total likes. Bio reads “Jésus d'abord grâce à Loucio”, link loucio.com/julia. 11-04 posts from one day pulled 226k / 159k / 70k views; 9-21 one hit 137k views and 14.8k likes.

- **@lea.chretienne** : 2,300 followers. Bio: "Retrouve son chemin sur Loucioapp", link loucio.com/lea. One post at 10-15 has 469k views; another has 10-08 with 249k views.

- **@pauline.catho** : 2,866 followers. Bio: "Vers le chemin de Dieu avec Loucio", link loucio.com/pauline. One post at 10-17 has 357k views, another 10-11 has 187k, and 9-26 has 162k.

Key traits:

- **It's a matrix-account play** : each account posts 2–4 times a day. Captions are almost always just emojis plus #tiktokchretienne, and the message lives in on-screen text or image cards. Follower counts are small, but single posts hit hundreds of thousands or even millions of views. It runs on TikTok's recommendation feed, not on followers.

- **Each persona has its own tracking link** : tests show loucio.com/clea, /julia, /lea, /pauline, /hugo, and /paul all 307 redirect to `/app?c=<name>`. Making up a name or using a common female name also 404 redirects. So at least 6 persona codes exist, plus two male personas (hugo and paul) whose accounts I couldn't find. The landing page is a demo of the app interface ("Marc, Jésus est là, ce soir encore. De quoi as-tu envie de parler ?"), then it sends users to the store. This is paid-traffic-style management, tracking conversion per persona and per account.

- **Warming accounts before launch** : clea's viral post came 2 weeks before the iOS launch. Release notes for 1.0.3 include "Le code des premiers inscrits, à saisir sur l'écran Loucio+" (an early-signup discount code). That suggests a waitlist was built on TikTok before launch and converted to paid after with the code.

- The timing lines up: the iOS daily rating peak runs from 10-30 to 11-01, and the Play single-day peak lands on 11-02. That's right when lea / pauline were hit products in October, and when julia's 10-30 video pulled 120K views, followed by a string of hits from 11-03 to 11-05.

#### 2. Official Instagram account (confirmed, supporting)

@loucio.app has 2.2K followers and 172 posts (per Jina search summaries). Starting 2026-09-14 (Feast of the Triumph of the Cross), it posted a daily gospel or saint Reel, always ending with "Viens tel que tu es, Loucio t'écoute sans juger, lien en bio", and ran comment engagement like "Pose ta question en commentaire, Loucio répond en vidéo". The volume is modest; it's a content account driven by the liturgical calendar.

#### 3. Timing and holidays (confirmed)

- A Catholic revival in France: 2026 Easter baptisms of adults numbered 13,234, 2016 was 4,124, more than tripling in ten years and up 28% on 2025. Including teens, the total hit a record 21,386 (RCF, Aleteia, the French bishops' conference, France Inter). Many of the new arrivals are young people coming back or coming for the first time. Loucio's website names three audiences, "Le distancié / L'éprouvé / Le chercheur", which fit this group closely.

- 11-01 All Saints' Day and 11-02 All Souls' Day are when people think of the dead and want to pray. Single-day peaks in both stores fall on these days.

#### 4. Paid ads (not found)

The metaads library returns nothing when searching by name, domain, or app ID. The tiktokads library has a listing with status unconfirmed (not matched to an advertiser). The website says "Pas de publicité", which should be read as no ads inside the app. Not finding it in the libraries doesn't mean there was no paid spend.

#### 5. Media and KOLs (not found)

A Jina search for "Loucio" only returns the website, store pages, Instagram, and these TikTok accounts. No coverage from Aleteia, Famille Chrétienne, La Croix, or KTO. x-radar found 0 mentions of "loucio" in the last 60 days.

### 4. Why it broke out

1. **Distribution: the TikTok persona matrix bought millions of free impressions.** 4 confirmed accounts, with top single posts at 1.64M / 470k / 360k / 230k views and about 2.31M total likes. Each account carries a persona-coded link, so conversions can be attributed per account. The format is "faith testimony + the app is why I came back to faith," and there's almost no competition on #tiktokchretienne, a high-traffic tag with very little commercial activity.

2. **Timing: young French people returning to the Church is a hot trend.** Adult baptisms have tripled in ten years, and Catholic content was already growing on TikTok. Loucio's messaging ("Jésus ne vous a jamais quitté", "sans verset cliché") is written for hesitant "returners" who feel a bit of shame. The holidays (All Saints', All Souls') added another wave.

3. **Product: a paid ritual experience combined with AI companionship.** Hallow has already shown that Catholic users will pay a subscription for daily prayer. Loucio adds a companion that answers by voice and remembers what you said last time (the main model is Anthropic Claude, with GPT-4o mini as a fallback, Google TTS for voice, and Whisper for transcription, per the privacy policy). Scripture is quoted from the Crampon translation in its original form. There's also a five-point ethics charter that echoes the Vatican's Antiqua et Nova, stating "does not replace the sacraments", "faithful to the magisterium", and "content reviewed by priests and laypeople", which eases devout users' wariness of AI. This is why a 8.99 €/week price point converts. With 256 ratings it reached Hallow's top-grossing tier.

4. **Monetization copies consumer subscription apps:** a weekly subscription, a 7-day free trial, annual price tests (59.99–89.99 €), and an early-user discount code. The 1.0.3 release added streak flames and leaderboards, which somewhat conflicts with its charter's "pas d'addiction par design".

### 5. What the differentiation is, and whether it explains the breakout

- **Differentiation:** (1) purely French and purely Catholic (not generic Christian, and not an English product translated); (2) a "companion" rather than a Q&A bot: voice conversation, memory, a personality (Loucio, with a dove mascot); (3) the liturgical routines are built in: daily gospel, rosary, Ignatian evening examen, and nearby parishes; (4) a public ethics charter and a "no funding, no data sales" narrative, which is a trust asset in Catholic circles.

- **Is it the cause?** **Partly.** Differentiation explains why people were willing to pay (4.82 ratings, a top-grossing rank far above what that rating count would suggest), and it gives TikTok content an easy story to tell ("this is how I came back to faith"). But almost all of the "where users come from" question is answered by the TikTok persona matrix. The product itself has no built-in sharing mechanism, and no media or X coverage came from anyone else. Swap in a product of the same shape without the account farm, and it's hard to take off. Lucerna and Adouras are examples.

### 6. Visibility and copycats

- **Visibility: few people know about it yet.** No media coverage, 0 posts on X, and the founder hasn't shared revenue (TrustMRR and similar trackers don't list it). The only third-party estimate is a page on Searvia. TikTok exposure is large, but viewers see "Cléa, Julia, and the other girls," with no idea the accounts belong to the developer.

- **Suspected copycats:** Bible AI et Compagnon Chrétien (Romain Lefebvre, listed on 2026-11-04, description "Parlez à voix haute avec un compagnon spirituel IA", nearly identical in form); Lucerna later added a "guide spirituel" AI guide; and 9–October saw a batch of other French Catholic apps: Divine Companion, Lumen, and CATHO+ (from an developer in Côte d'Ivoire). None have taken off yet (0–21 ratings).

### 7. What others can learn

- **The template of minority language × religion × AI companionship × weekly subscription** can be copied: Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, Polish, Philippine English, or Protestant or Orthodox versions. The key is local liturgical content (official translations quoted in original form, daily reading feeds) plus an ethics charter that reassures believers.

- **A TikTok persona matrix with one tracking link per persona:** each account links `/name → /app?c=name`, so conversion is measured per account. Double down on accounts that work and replace the ones that don't. Start warming accounts 2–4 weeks before launch, build a waitlist, and harvest it at launch with an "early user code".

- **Build content around the liturgical calendar:** daily gospels, saints, and feasts (All Saints', All Souls', Advent, Lent, Easter) are ready-made topics, and each brings its own traffic spike.

### 8. What's still uncertain

- Are the persona accounts run in-house or by an outsourced UGC or matrix-management agency? A two-person company posting a dozen videos a day probably uses tools or outsources. The account count may also be more than 4 (the hugo and paul codes are valid, but their accounts weren't found).

- The actual video content wasn't reviewed (only captions and metrics). It's unclear whether the figures are AI-generated, real people on camera, or image cards.

- Actual paid conversion and retention; the cancellation rate after the weekly subscription trial ends (weekly subscriptions tend to draw complaints, and none have surfaced yet).

- Whether they run TikTok or Meta ads: our database can't see it, which doesn't mean they don't.

- Company: CYBÈLE SAS, founded 2026-08-26, share capital €1,000, registered at 2 arrondissement 47 rue Vivienne, Paris. Chairman Cédric Gosset (born 1996), CEO Arnaud Gosset (born 2000). Same surname, likely brothers. We couldn't find what either did before.

- Can the growth last: daily rating gains have dropped from 34 to 9. Whether new hits can carry it past the holiday spike remains to be seen.
