Pro sells the edge of knowing restocks 4 minutes before everyone else, and Sweden's Shopping Top Grossing chart has a low bar: a few subscriptions can land you in the top 30.

# Pokémon cards sold out again: a one-person Swedish restock-alert app charts in the top grossing ranks with only 6 ratings

**What it is** A Swedish-language Pokémon card app: it compares prices across 40 Swedish online shops, alerts you when a store restocks, and can scan cards and estimate what your collection is worth.

**Why it's taking off** Pokémon's 30 anniversary releases sell out the moment they land, and Swedish collectors want to know which shop has restocked. Pro sells "knowing about restocks 4 minutes before everyone else", and Sweden's shopping top grossing chart has a low bar, so a few subscriptions can put it in the top 30.

**C** **How you could follow it** Don't add yet another Pokémon card + Sweden app. Take the formula of local store stock + local resale prices + paid early restock alerts to a small-language country without a local version yet, or to another limited collectible, and use daily restock content accounts, Discord and giveaways to drive sign-ups.

C grade: the formula works and one person can build it, but the barrier to entry is almost zero. Over 6 rivals appeared in Sweden in three months, and the US and France also have local versions. Scoutr itself hasn't really broken out, and its revenue depends on a hype wave that will fade. Hardly anyone knows about it yet

Scoutr watches prices and stock at 40 Swedish online shops for Swedish Pokémon card collectors and sends a push the moment something restocks. Pro costs 39–59 SEK per month. It rode the wave of Pokémon's 30 anniversary releases selling out instantly, and reached #8 on Sweden's iOS shopping top grossing chart. But that chart's bar is low, and the app has only 6 ratings in total. At least 6 other Swedish apps do the same thing, some much bigger. If you want to follow it, the formula is what to copy, and the timing has already passed.

### The box that released on Friday

On Nov 3, the TikTok account @scoutr.se posted a video titled "Delta Reign releases Friday 11/6", reading out the store prices one by one: a pack for 79 SEK, a bundle at 499, an ETB (Elite Trainer Box) at 849, and a full display box at 2,299. It added: "The SIR for Mega Rayquaza ex is already almost as expensive as a whole display box." The video got about 2,800 views.

The videos from a few days earlier covered the same kind of thing. Oct 30: "The Ultra-Premium Collections for Moon Eevee and Sun Eevee have both sold out, 3,999 SEK, limit 1 per household", ending with "Track this box in Scoutr, and we'll alert you if anyone cancels an order." Oct 31: "Some Pokémon card boxes at Webhallen can't even be bought unless your membership level is 9 or higher", the most-watched of these, at 4,940 thousand views. Nov 2 consoled people who missed out on the 30th Celebration ETB: "Don't worry, they're still reprinting. The 2021 Celebrations box is now selling for 3,000 SEK, and the 2016 Generations is close to 40k SEK."

Behind this account is just one person, developer Milos Stosic. He has only this one app on the App Store.

### What it is

The core is really the scoutr.se website, and the app is a client for it. It is Swedish-only, launched on iOS in Aug 10, and is also on Android. The first line of the store description reads: "Scoutr is an app for Swedish Pokémon TCG collectors… see everything in one place, in kronor."

- **Price comparison** : the lowest prices across 40 Swedish online shops, with a tap that goes directly to the product page in the store. Single-card prices come from Cardmarket, converted to kronor. It also shows actual sale prices on Tradera (Sweden's largest secondhand marketplace), with graded cards getting their own price curve.

- **Restock and price-drop alerts** : push notifications and email, plus real-time posts in Discord.

- **Collection** : log the cards and sealed boxes you own, and recalculate total value every day.

- **Card scanning** : point your camera at a card to identify it, and AI estimates its condition (the website itself says this is only a reference).

| | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Price comparison and alerts | Yes | Yes, restock news arrives 4 minutes earlier than others |
| Card scanning | 30 times per month after signing up | Any |
| Tradera sale prices and graded-card prices | — | Yes |
| Pricing | 0 | 39 SEK/month (billed annually, with a 14-day free trial for new users), or 59 SEK/month (billed monthly) |

The website states that it takes no money from shops when you click through to buy, and placement can't be bought, so its only revenue is the Pro subscription.

### How big is "#8 Top Grossing"?

Tiny.

- **Sweden iOS Shopping top grossing** : 10-28 #25,10-30 #12,11-04 #8,11-06 #13, consistently between #8–27.

- **Top Free is slipping** : 10-29 #102,11-06 #200.

- **Ratings** : 6 total, average 4.67,10-28 to 11-06, not moving.

- **Google Play** : 100+ downloads (11-06 store page).

- **Discord** : "Scoutr · Pokémon TCG Sverige" 518 members, 120 online (11-06).

- **TikTok** : 923 followers, 93 posts, 5,576 likes in total, individual videos from a few hundred to under 5,000 views (11-06).

Put these numbers together: few new downloads, and the money comes from a small group of people who already pay. Sweden is a small market, and there are few shopping apps that earn money to begin with. Around #13 you find parcel tracking apps, Bazoš, Shpock and similar, where a handful of subscriptions a day is enough to reach the top 30 (inferred). So the ranking only tells you people are paying, not how much, and it doesn't show the app has broken out.

### Why now

**Hype.** 2026 is Pokémon's 30th anniversary year, and new releases like 30th Celebration and Delta Reign sell out the moment they land. Swedish players have to keep refreshing dozens of web shops for restocks, and some shops, like Webhallen, cap purchases by membership tier. At that point, "which shop restocked, and which is cheapest" is exactly what collectors most want to know.

**The paywall is well placed.** Pro doesn't sell more features, it sells "4 minutes earlier." For someone chasing a limited box, being 4 minutes early can mean the difference between getting it and not, and 39–59 kronor a month is nothing.

**Localization.** Kronor, Swedish shops, Tradera sold prices, Swedish language: global valuation apps like Collectr have none of this. Collectr has 680 ratings in Sweden, but it prices in dollars and doesn't track which Swedish shop has stock.

### Where users come from

All of it is done by hand, and no sign of paid acquisition turned up (not finding it doesn't mean it isn't there):

1. **TikTok and Instagram content accounts.** Nearly a post a day since late October: new-release shop prices, what sold out, how to avoid fake cards ("someone spent 2.9M kronor on a PSA 10 Dragapult... the grading slab was fake"), and how winter heating makes cards warp. Every post ends with "watch it in Scoutr" or a download link.

2. **Giveaways.** From Oct 31 they ran a draw for a 30th Celebration ETB, closing Nov 17. Entry requires following, liking, tagging two friends, and downloading the app to sign up in it; the more cards you scan in the app, the more entries you get. This giveaway video has 708 views and 43 comments, the most comments of any of their videos.

3. **Discord restock feed.** Restock alerts are broadcast publicly. Pro members get them 4 minutes early, and free users see every day how late they were, which itself sells Pro.

4. **Long-tail search (inferred).** scoutr.se has 68k product pages, and its FAQ answers questions like "where in Sweden is it cheapest to buy Pokémon cards." But searching its name, it doesn't rank in the top results, so how much organic traffic it gets is unclear.

5. **Retention.** The version from Oct 20 added "weekly streak": use it for a week in a row and you get your scan and AI grading quota topped up. It also launched an annual plan and a 1.6-day trial, 14.

### Who it's competing with

Very crowded. From 2026 7 to October, more than 6 Swedish players appeared doing the same thing:

| Product | Form | Scale (around 11-06) | Compared with Scoutr |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pokejakt | iOS + Android + web, iOS listed 9-01 | Sweden iOS 119 ratings, 7 days +4 | Almost identical features (card scanning, price comparison across 55+ shops, Tradera sold prices, Pro), with 20 times Scoutr's ratings; a monthly ETB giveaway, and an extra 5 entries for inviting a friend |
| TCGkollen | Web + Discord bot (Beta) | Claims to watch 80+ Swedish shops | Twice as many shops, also covers Magic, One Piece, Lorcana and other cards; shop links go through a redirect, looks like they're earning affiliate commission (inferred) |
| Pingémon | Web + Discord | Claims 201 Nordic and European shops, 27 card games | Widest coverage, pitched on live restocks and deal-spotting |
| Pokeaviseringer | Web | Claims 50+ Swedish shops | Only price comparison and restock alerts, no app |
| Kortjakt | iOS, listed 7-31 | Sweden iOS 9 ratings | Watches Nordic shops, with an event calendar; about the same size as Scoutr |
| SwiftPoke | iOS, listed 10-28 | 1 ratings | Aimed at resellers: grabbing restocks, one-click auto-fill checkout |
| Global apps like Collectr | iOS | Sweden 160–680 ratings | Global valuation and card scanning, ignoring what local shops have in stock |

The same is happening abroad. In the US, PokeNotify and Scoutr hit iOS on the same day (8-10), with 775 US-store ratings and 7 more in 230 days, and 47k installs on Google Play. France has Scalperz. Every country is spawning its own local version. Nobody can say who copied whom; they're all riding the same wave.

In Sweden, Scoutr and its peers are barely distinguishable. What it can point to is two things: a full set of website, app, Discord and content accounts, and a neutral pitch of "no shop money, no paid ranking."

### If it were you

**C: The formula is worth learning, but it's a poor bet to chase now.** "A global hot collectible plus a small country: local currency, local shop stock, local resale prices, turned into restock alerts plus a subscription" does work, and one person can build it. The problem is the barrier is nearly zero: Sweden saw 6+ entrants in three months, and the US and France have them too. And it earns off the hype. Once the 30th anniversary passes and the anxiety about missing restocks fades, subscriptions may fall with it.

**Who it suits** : individual developers who can write scrapers and maintain stock tracking across dozens of web shops over the long run; ideally someone who is already in a collecting community and speaks a small language that a global app doesn't serve well.

**Who it doesn't suit** : anyone wanting to squeeze into Pokémon cards in markets like Sweden, the US or France, where several local versions already exist; anyone unwilling to post content daily or hang out in Discord; anyone hoping to earn from downloads and ads. The money in this kind of product comes only from subscriptions by a small group of heavy players.

**How to do it** : change the market or change the product. To change the market, look for countries without a local restock alert yet: small-language markets with many local web shops and players, such as Norway, Denmark, Finland, Poland, the Czech Republic or the Netherlands. Search the app stores and Discord for a while first (inferred; you must check which country is actually empty). To change the product, look at categories that are also "globally hot, limited, must-grab," such as One Piece cards, Lorcana, or designer toys like Pop Mart. Give price comparison and alerts for free, and charge only for "a few minutes earlier" and unlimited scans, priced around the cost of a coffee a month.

**How to get customers** : copy Scoutr's playbook and it costs almost nothing. Run a TikTok account in the local language posting once a day: "where restocks happened today, new-release shop prices, what sold out." Use a Discord as a restock feed so free users see they're 4 minutes late every day. Around each new release, run a giveaway for one box of the hardest-to-get stock, with the entry rule "download the app and sign up in it."

**When to get in** : move with the release calendar. The months when new sets drop and people can't get stock are the cheapest time to recruit, so launch before the Christmas season (inferred). If you enter after the hype fades, nobody will care about "4 minutes earlier" anymore.

**Signs you've got it wrong** : (1) the country or category you picked already has two or three local restock alert services after a quick search; (2) one or two months after launch, the giveaways and content accounts have brought only a few hundred sign-ups and single-digit paying users, which means the community isn't big or anxious enough; (3) watch Scoutr itself: if by next spring new releases no longer sell out instantly and it drops out of Sweden's Shopping top grossing top 50, it confirms this business depends on the hype, and so will yours.

## Scoutr · kortpriser & larm (iOS 6783443245) research report

Research date 2026-11-06. Regions checked: in our database this app has only charted in Sweden (se), and only in the Shopping category; the app is Swedish-only, so the analysis below focuses on Sweden.

### One line

Scoutr is a price comparison, restock alert, and collection valuation tool for Swedish Pokémon TCG collectors. It was built by indie developer Milos Stosic; the core is the scoutr.se website, and the app is a client for it. **Verdict: it hasn't really broken out.** It rode the wave of 2026 Pokémon 30 anniversary releases selling out, and the bar for Sweden's Shopping Top Grossing chart is low, so a small number of Pro subscribers was enough to reach the top 30. At least 6 other companies in Sweden are doing the same thing, and Pokejakt is clearly bigger.

### 1. Basic data

| items | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Launched | 2026-08-10; now at version 1.6 (10-20 update) | iTunes lookup |
| Rating | 6 in total, averaging 4.67; 10-28 to 11-06 without a rise | appstore library app_day |
| Sweden Shopping Top Grossing chart | 10-28 #25 → 10-30 #12 → 11-04 #8 → 11-06 #13, hovering between #8 and #27 | appstore library, chart_rank |
| Sweden Shopping Top Free chart | 10-29 #102 → 11-06 #200, sliding steadily down | Same as above |
| Google Play(se.foilio.app) | 100+ downloads, with in-app purchases | Play Store page |
| Pricing | Free tier (30 card scans per month after signup); Pro is 39 SEK/month billed annually or 59 SEK/month billed monthly; new users on the annual plan get a 14-day free trial | scoutr.se, App update notes |
| Discord | 'Scoutr · Pokémon TCG Sverige' has 518 members, 120 online | Discord invite API 11-06 |
| TikTok @scoutr.se | 923 followers, 93 posts, 5,576 total likes | TikHub 11-06 |

**How to read this data:** The Top Free chart is sliding, ratings are flat, but the Top Grossing ranking has stayed near the top at 30. That means few new downloads, with revenue coming from a small group of users who already pay, i.e. Pro subscriptions and renewals. Around #13 on Sweden's Shopping Top Grossing chart sit package-tracking apps (Parcel, Packages), Bazoš, Shpock and similar, a low bar that even an app with 6 ratings can clear. So '#8' doesn't say how much it earns.

### 2. What it does (scoutr.se/en/om, app description)

- Price comparison: the lowest prices from 40 Swedish online stores, linking straight to product pages in each shop; single-card prices use the Cardmarket NM lowest price, converted to SEK; it also shows actual sale prices on Tradera (Sweden's largest secondhand platform), with graded cards on a separate curve

- Restock and price-drop alerts: push, email, and real-time Discord announcements; Pro users get them 4 minutes earlier

- Collection: log cards and sealed boxes, recalculate total value daily, and show which cards each set still needs

- Scan cards with the camera for recognition, with AI condition estimates (the official site says these are only a reference)

- The site has 68k product pages (scoutr.se/en/produkter)

- The official site states that clicks out to buy don't pay the store, and that placement can't be bought. So the money comes only from Pro subscriptions

- The bundle id is `se.foilio.app`, which suggests a rename (possibly from Foilio); not verified

### 3. Competitors: the local Swedish market is already crowded

| Product | Form | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Scoutr |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Pokejakt** | iOS + Play + web | iOS 2026-09-01 | Sweden iOS 119 ratings (7 days +4), Reference Top Grossing #14–#47; the official site says 225 ratings across both stores | Nearly identical features (card scanning, price comparison across 55+ shops, Tradera sold prices, PSA 10 prices, Pro), and it rates 20× higher than Scoutr. A monthly ETB giveaway; invite one friend and get 5 more raffle tickets. |
| **TCGkollen** | Web + PWA + Discord bot | Not verified (Beta) | Claims to monitor 80+ Swedish shops | Twice as many shops, and also covers Magic, One Piece, Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Riftbound; shop links go through `api.tcgkollen.se/go/` redirects, which looks like affiliate commissions; Pro comes with 30 days free |
| **Pingémon** | Web + Discord | Not verified | 201 Nordic and European shops, 27 card types, 516k cards | Broadest coverage, focused on real-time restock pings and 'snipe' signals |
| **Pokeaviseringer** | Web | Not verified | Covers 50+ Swedish shops, run by the sole-trader company Bugge Digital | Only price comparison and restock alerts; no app and no card scanning |
| **Kortjakt** | iOS | 2026-07-31 | Sweden iOS 9 ratings; Kortcentralen 2026-09-30 wrote an introduction | Monitors shops across the Nordics, with a trade-show calendar and a Discord; similar in scale to Scoutr |
| **SwiftPoke** (NSLabs AB) | iOS | 2026-10-28 | 1 ratings | Aimed at resellers: beat restocks, one-click autofill checkout, multiple shipping profiles, 3-day trial |
| Collectr | iOS worldwide | 2022-01 | US 69k ratings; Sweden 680 ratings, #3 on the Reference Top Grossing chart | Global valuation and card scanning in USD, ignoring Swedish store stock |
| HoloDex / PriceCharting / Dex / Acorn | iOS worldwide | 2021–2025 | Sweden has 160–316 ratings each | Same as above |
| PokeNotify (US) | iOS + Play | iOS 2026-08-10 | US iOS 775 ratings, 7 days +230; Play 47k installs | US version with restock alerts + Discord, launched on iOS the same day as Scoutr; France also has Scalperz (2026-04), showing that countries everywhere are building local versions |

Source: App Store / Google Play library (11-06), each vendor's official site (read via Jina).

**Verdict:** In Sweden, this category suddenly produced 6+ apps between 2026 and 7 alone… Scoutr wasn't the first, nor the biggest. No one copied anyone; they all rode the same wave.

### 4. Where users come from

1. **Their own TikTok / Instagram (confirmed)** : @scoutr.se posts almost daily since 10-28, covering new-product store prices (Delta Reign at 79 kr a pack, ETB at 849 kr), what sold out (30th Celebration ETB, Umbreon/Espeon UPC), Webhallen tier limits, and news like a fake PSA 10 Gyarados selling for 2.9M kr. Single posts get 0.4k–4.9k views; the top one is the Webhallen tier post (4,926 views, 10-31). Total of 5,576 likes, a tiny audience (TikHub).

2. **Giveaway (confirmed)** : 10-31 giveaway for a 30th Celebration ETB. Entry requires following, liking, sharing, tagging two friends, and downloading the app (TikHub). Pokejakt runs the same play, monthly.

3. **Discord (confirmed)** : 518 members. Restock alerts are posted publicly, and Pro users get them 4 minutes earlier. That's the reason to pay.

4. **SEO (unconfirmed)** : the site has 68k product pages, and its FAQ targets long-tail questions like "where in Sweden is Pokémon card cheapest." But searching "scoutr.se pokemon" via Jina, it doesn't rank top. Organic traffic is unknown.

5. **Retention levers (confirmed)** : version 1.6 added "weekly streaks" (a week's streak refills scan and AI grading quotas). The Pro page now puts "Tradera sold prices / graded card prices" behind the paywall, and added an annual plan with a 14-day trial (App Store release notes 10-20).

6. **Paid acquisition: no evidence found** . The ad libraries don't track it.

7. An X search for "scoutr" returns nothing. No press coverage.

### Five: why it charts Top Grossing

- **Timing** : 2026 is Pokémon's 30th anniversary year, and new sets sell out on release (30th Celebration, Delta Reign 11-06 launch). Swedish collectors refresh dozens of web shops hunting restocks, so demand for "restock alerts + price comparison" is urgent. Swedish, US and French look-alike apps appeared at the same time, which points to a wave, not a niche insight.

- **Low bar on the charts** : Sweden is a small market. Few shopping apps charge, so a handful of subscriptions a day lands it at #8–27. Ratings stuck at 6 and the free chart keeps sliding, so it isn't growing fast.

- **The right thing to charge for** : Pro sells "restock alerts 4 minutes earlier" and unlimited scans. For people racing to buy limited card packs, 39–59 kr/month is cheap.

- **Localization** : kronor prices, Swedish stores, Tradera sold prices, Swedish language. The global apps don't have any of that.

### VI. Differentiation

- Compared with global valuation apps (Collectr and others), localization (kronor, local stock, Tradera) is a real difference, and it's why Swedes will pay.

- Compared with local Swedish competitors: **almost no difference** . The feature lists are nearly identical. Pokejakt has far more users, and TCGkollen and Pingémon track more shops and more card sets. Scoutr's only real claim is the complete package (site + app + Discord + content account) and the neutral "we take no money from shops" stance.

- So differentiation isn't why it charted. The wave plus a low bar in a small market is.

### 7. How many people have seen it

Almost nobody knows it yet. Revenue isn't public, there's no press, and X returns nothing. Only auto-generated estimate pages like apptail.io and appinsider.io exist. But the category is already crowded in Sweden, so "nobody knows" doesn't mean "nobody's building it."

### 8. What others can borrow

- A formula that could move elsewhere: a globally popular collectible (trading cards, designer toys, sneakers, limited spirits) + a small country: local currency + a scraper for local shop stock + local resale sold prices, packaged as alerts + subscription.

- Put the paywall on "a few minutes earlier" and use delay to split free from paid, rather than cutting features.

- A content account posts new-product prices and sell-out news daily, and giveaways require downloading the app. Discord acts as the restock broadcast channel.

- Risk: the barrier is nearly zero (6+ apps appeared in Sweden within three months), so it's riding a wave, and revenue may drop as the wave fades.

### 9. What I'm still unsure about

- Actual revenue and subscriber counts (the charts are only relative positions, and this chart has an extremely low bar)

- The library starts at 10-28, so the 8–September situation is unknown

- Not verified whether it launched before Pokejakt or TCGkollen, or which gets more web traffic

- Couldn't find whether they ran ads; the nature of the Cardshop Sweden partnership is unverified
