Rahman: Islam Super App · Mobile Victory

A Turkish "does everything" prayer app: it made the top ten, but a rival that does one thing outpaces it by 30×

What it is An iPhone Islamic toolkit from a small Turkish company: prayer times, Quran, qibla, tasbih, an AI imam, with Apple Watch and CarPlay support, sold as a monthly subscription.

Why it took off It rode the wave of Turkish users willing to pay for prayer apps in 2026, used Meta ads to pitch Apple-exclusive scenarios like CarPlay, required ratings during onboarding before a hard paywall, and reached 4.7K ratings and the top ten in its category within three months. But inside this wave it is only mid-tier.

CHow you could follow it Don't build a do-everything app. Copy the fastest-growing Quran Widgets: pick one point people see every day without opening the app, do it extremely well, leave the free official basics (like prayer times) unlocked, and launch before Ramadan 2027.

Grade C: the Turkish niche is already crowded with a full wave of 2026 subscription prayer apps, plus free official apps. Rahman's own app is only mid-tier, so copying its all-in-one approach isn't worth it. What's worth learning is the single-feature focus, the Apple-exclusive scenarios and the Ramadan timing. Few people know about it yet

A small subscription app company in Istanbul shipped Rahman at the end of July: prayer times, Quran, qibla, tasbih, and an AI imam, plus Apple Watch and CarPlay support, the works. Three months on, it holds a steady spot in the top 10 of Turkey's Reference chart. But on that same chart, a Lock Screen-only verse widget picked up 30 times as many ratings in a single week. This piece covers how it got into the top 10, where the money comes from, and why the everything-in-one approach is a weak play in this niche.

"Before the car even started, it was already saying bismillah"

In Oct 26 2026, a Turkish user gave Rahman 5 stars: "I love it. Before the car even started, it was already saying bismillah. That alone is worth it." That's the part they put real work into: plug in CarPlay, and it recites automatically once you're in the car.

6 days later, in Nov 1, another user gave 3 stars: "I opened the app to check prayer times. It wouldn't show me the times, it pushed the Pro membership first. Deleted it right away."

These two reviews pretty much sum up Rahman: the Apple ecosystem work is careful, and the money-collecting is aggressive.

What it is

Rahman: Islam Super App, developer Mobile Victory, registered as the Turkish company Mobilevictory İletişim, based in Istanbul. The same account also runs a second-number app GSM+, an SMS-verification tool SMSVerify, TvPilot, and ReportAI, all subscription tools. Running a paywall funnel is an old trade for them.

Rahman launched 2026-07-28, iPhone, Apple Watch and CarPlay only, no Android version. The store page opens with: "A quiet home for prayer times, Quran, qibla, daily dhikr and Hajj preparation, with no ads." Core features:

  • Prayer times and Adhan alerts, lock-screen and home-screen widgets, Dynamic Island countdown;
  • Quran, qibla compass, tasbih, qada (make-up prayer) tracking;
  • AI imam "Al Hodja", which the official Instagram stresses "answers with Quran and hadith citations, no made-up content";
  • Apple Watch, CarPlay, family sharing, 32 languages.

Free to download, but opening it hits the paywall. The store lists $1.99/month, $9.99/year, or $29.99 one-time; a Turkish reviewer says "100 lira a month." It shipped 21.0 versions in three months, updating often.

How big is it really

Not big, and almost entirely in Turkey.

  • The Turkish store has 10-28 ratings at 4,639, 11-06 at 4,697, +52 in a week, 2 to 15 a day (App Store Turkey, 10-28 to 11-06). The US store has only 53 ratings, Germany 41.
  • On the free Reference chart over these 10 days it sat at #8 to #10; on Top Grossing it was mostly #10 to #13, and it has never reached the overall chart.
  • The third-party estimator Searvia puts its monthly revenue at $1K–5K and monthly downloads at 1K–5K, extrapolated from chart positions, not verified.

One thing doesn't add up: in the 92 days since launch it collected 4,639 ratings, about 50 a day on average; now it's single digits a day, a drop of an order of magnitude, while its free-chart rank barely moved. The likeliest explanation is that downloads didn't fall much, but the share of downloaders who leave a rating did, e.g. the rating prompt moved or fires less often (inference, unverified). So don't read 4.7k ratings as 4.7k committed users.

Where users come from

ChannelWhat we saw
Meta ads (Facebook / Instagram)In Turkey's Meta Ad Library, Rahman's page has at least 3 live ads: one feature roundup from 10-06 ("Time until prayer, qibla... it's all in Rahman"), and two CarPlay creatives from 10-16 and 10-23 ("Never miss prayer time while driving, Rahman is on CarPlay now"). Keyword search only turned up these 3; there are probably more.
Own Instagram@rahmanapp, about 5,100 followers, posts Al Hodja, the CarPlay "auto-recites bismillah in the car" clip, and five-star review screenshots, all captioned "link in bio".
In-app event on the App StoreRan one major update event, "Rahman is on CarPlay now"; it has ended.
Rating promptLots of very short five-star reviews: "May Allah be pleased with you", "Perfect", and some writing "I felt peace during setup", which suggests the rating prompt fires during onboarding (inference).
Influencers, TikTok, media, XNone found. No promo videos turn up on TikTok, and Turkish "best religious app" roundups don't cover it.

The playbook is clear: Meta spend + Apple-exclusive features as creative + asking for ratings during onboarding + a hard paywall. Top Grossing sits only 1 to 3 places below the free chart, which means plenty of arrivals pay; but new ratings a day are down to single digits, so the ad spend isn't large.

Where the money comes from, and what it costs

The money is all subscription. The site says "No ads. Ever." yet the most common complaint in reviews is "ads", which really means the paywall:

  • "Every time I refresh the page it forces me to watch a 1-minute Pro purchase screen. Apple shouldn't allow this." (10-17,1 star)
  • "Even prayer times cost money." (10-28,1 star)
  • "I have to buy before I can try it. I've never tried it once, how would I know to buy?" (11-01,1 star)
  • "When you install it, it's: pay first, then talk about serving God." (10-17,3 star)

Paying users are unhappy too: "I bought the lifetime plan, but the widget has to show the time, and I have to open the app at every prayer time." (11-02,1 star) Another wrote that CarPlay and the widget "don't work unless you open the app" and regrets the annual plan.

That's the math of a hard paywall: short term it buys revenue and rank, long term it piles up "too expensive" and "even prayer times are paid" reviews, and it faces a free official rival (see below).

Who it's competing with: half the same chart is its peers

Of the top 25 Turkish Reference apps (11-06), nearly half are Islamic apps, mostly small personal or small-company products launched in 2026. In 2026 2, around Ramadan, Turkey saw a wave of subscription prayer apps; Rahman only entered at the end of July and missed Ramadan.

Old-timers Muslim Pro, Namaz Vakti and Adhan Times still have big install bases but are growing slowly. Muslim App has had an AI "Ask Hoca" feature for a while, and got press coverage in July. Since Rahman launched, similar apps keep popping up one after another: Hüccet, Rahle, Muslim Widgets (August), Ayet Widget, Semadan, Medina (October), and 10-30 just added yet another Hoca AI.

Go through Rahman's own selling points one by one: Nurlu already had the all-in-one; Muslim App and Qaf already had AI Q&A; Safar shipped CarPlay first; Quran Widgets goes deeper on widgets. What it truly owns is bringing all of this to every Apple platform and doing it polished. That's enough to squeeze into the top 10, not enough to lead.

Why the do-one-thing app beat it

Quran Widgets does one thing: puts a verse on your lock screen every day. Users don't open the app; once installed, they see it daily and remember it daily. Rahman has everything, but what users want is a glance at prayer times, and that glance has to get past the paywall first; reviews even say the widget doesn't refresh unless you open the app.

In a category where users already have a free official tool, the thing that gets people to pay is "seen once a day". However long the feature list, users won't pay more for it.

If it were you

The takeaway: Don't copy Rahman's Turkish Islamic all-in-one. That space is already crowded, and Rahman itself shows the all-in-one losing to the single-point app. What's worth learning is the underlying fact: iPhone users in Turkey will pay monthly for religious apps, and a few dozen downloads a day can reach the category's top 10.

Who it suits: an iOS team of 1–2 people who already know how to build a subscription funnel and run Meta ads; ideally one who knows the language and habits of a Muslim market not yet saturated by this wave of apps (which markets are still open this time I did not check one by one; you'll need to look at the local Reference and Lifestyle charts yourself).

Who it doesn't suit: anyone aiming for a big, all-in-one "Islamic super app"; anyone who won't spend on ads and is counting on organic store traffic; anyone who can't stomach a pile of "even prayer times cost money" reviews. Religious users are very sensitive to "charging for faith", and a hard paywall costs more reputation in this category than in others.

How to build it: copy Quran Widgets, not Rahman. Pick one point that needs no app opening and gets seen daily, and do it well: a lock-screen verse, a Dynamic Island prayer countdown, a verse recited in the car over CarPlay. Pick one. Don't lock what the official free app already gives away, like prayer times; put the paid part on widget styles, audio and personalization. The widget has to refresh on time without the app being opened, which is exactly where Rahman's bad reviews cluster.

How to acquire users: use Rahman's creative approach, one scenario per ad, like "never miss prayer time while driving"; target your country with Meta, and pair it with an App Store in-app event. Ramadan is the biggest peak of the year, so have your creative and versions ready a month before it.

When to be ready by: Ramadan is expected to begin in mid-February 2027, so launch and get the paywall and creative working by mid-January. Miss Ramadan and you're stuck pushing spend in the off-season.

How to tell if you're reading it wrong: ① Top players like Quran Widgets and Nurlu see their Turkey rating growth fall to Rahman's level for a month or two, which means the paid wave is over; ② Apple tightens review on paywalls like "pay right after opening," and funnels like Rahman's are forced to redesign; ③ Conversely, if Rahman regains traction through Al Hodja or CarPlay and weekly ratings climb back to the hundreds, then the bundle plus Apple-exclusive features can win, and the judgment above needs revising.

Rahman: Islam Super App (iOS 6787215396): why it got off the ground

In one line: a small studio in Istanbul that builds subscription funnels (Mobilevictory İletişim Ltd. Şti., which also runs GSM+ second number, SMSVerify, TvPilot, and ReportAI) made this Islamic "all-in-one" app. It launched 2026-07-28 and is only on iPhone, Watch, and CarPlay. Its selling points are thorough coverage of the Apple ecosystem plus the AI imam "Al Hodja". In three months it gathered about 4.7k ratings in Turkey, holding steady at #8–10 on the free Reference chart and #10–13 on Top Grossing. It hasn't become a hit: it's a mid-tier player in Turkey's subscription prayer app wave of the past 2026 years, not a leader. Users come mainly from Meta ads, its own Instagram, and in-app events on the App Store, plus a hard paywall that appears very early and a rating prompt.

Regions checked: the appstore database was scanned across all storefronts. Only tr has meaningful data (az, be, and de occasionally reach the tail of category charts). Apple lookup shows the us store has 53 ratings and de has 41. No Android version (not found in the googleplay database).

1. Data (appstore database, 2026-10-28 to 11-06, tr store)

  • Rating count: 10-28 is 4,639,11-06, 4,697, up 7 over the past 52 days, adding 2–15 a day. Spread over 92 days since launch and 4,639 ratings, that averages about 50 a day in the first three months, so the current rating growth is an order of magnitude lower than early on.
  • Chart positions: on the free Reference chart (6006) it held steady at #8–10 over 10 days, and on Top Grossing at #10–19 (most of the time #10–13). It has never entered the overall chart.
  • Its free chart ranking has stayed steady, yet rating growth has dropped sharply. This suggests downloads may not have collapsed; instead, the share of downloads that leave a rating has fallen, perhaps because the rating prompt moved or appears less often. This is an inference, not verified. The card's claim of "post-burst decay after pulse paid acquisition" lacks enough evidence.
  • Versions: reached v21.0 in three months (latest 10-24/11-05, splitting "daily practice" and "qada (make-up prayer) tracking"), with frequent updates.
  • Pricing: free download plus Pro subscription. The card lists $1.99/month, $9.99/year, and a $29.99 one-time purchase; Turkish reviews mention "100 TL per month".
  • Third-party estimate: Searvia estimates monthly revenue of $1K–5K and 1k–5k monthly downloads (25 country total, extrapolated from chart position) [searvia.com/fr/apps/6787215396].

2. Competitors: a whole wave of similar apps emerged in Turkey over 2026 years, and Rahman isn't the biggest

Among the top 25 in the Turkish App Store Reference category (11-06), Islamic apps account for nearly half, most of them individual or small-company products launched in the past 2026 years (appstore database, v_chart):

Conclusion:

  • "All-in-one Islamic bundle + AI imam + subscription" is already a red ocean in Turkey, with several new launches on average every month over the past 2026 years.
  • Rahman is in the third or fourth tier of this wave. The card calls it "the biggest one of this wave", and the data doesn't back that up.

Platform and seasonSince 2026 2–March, Ramadan has driven a wave of paid Islamic app purchases in Turkey (Quran Widgets and Nurlu both launched around then). Rahman entered in late July, missing Ramadan. Background

4. Why it took off

  1. Riding Turkey's paid Islamic app wave. Since 2026 2–March, subscription prayer and Quran apps have filled Turkey's Reference chart. The leader, Quran Widgets, already has 20k ratings and ranks #4 in Top Grossing, which shows Turkish iPhone users will pay for religious apps. Rahman entered after seeing this market. The studio's subscription funnel is its core skill (GSM+ and SMSVerify are both subscription tools).
  2. The most complete Apple ecosystem coverage. Watch, CarPlay (auto-recites the basmala on startup, which reviews praise), Dynamic Island and Lock Screen Live Activities, widgets, and Family Sharing, in 32 languages. Its ads and in-app events keep pushing the CarPlay and widget angles.
  3. Meta ads and a hard paywall for revenue. Ads bring people in, and the app asks for a subscription right away. Its Top Grossing rank is only 1–3 places behind its Top Free rank, so paid conversion looks decent. But daily new ratings are only in single digits, so this ad spend is small.
  4. Ratings grew fast early, driven mainly by the onboarding rating popup. In the first three months it averaged about 50 new ratings a day, with a 4.58 average, mostly short five-stars.

5. Differentiation, and whether that's why it took off

  • Its own pitch is "one quiet all-in-one app, No ads, the AI imam Al Hodja, Apple Watch / CarPlay".
  • Compare it with competitors: Nurlu has been doing the all-in-one for a long time; AI Q&A already exists in Muslim App's "Hoca'ya Sor" and in Qaf; the CarPlay widget Safar launched 8 days earlier; Quran Widgets goes deeper on widgets and has more volume.
  • What only Rahman has is doing all of this across every Apple platform, and doing it polished, plus a subscription team that already knows the playbook. That can get it into the top ten, but it isn't why it's taking off. By the numbers it's growing far slower than focused single-feature rivals like Quran Widgets and Ruhun Gıdası.
  • "Has everything" isn't an advantage in this niche. Apps that nail one feature (like daily Quran verses on the Lock Screen) are growing faster.

6. Visibility and copycats

  • Few people know about it yet. No media coverage, 0 posts on X, the founders haven't shared revenue, and Turkish religious app review articles don't cover it. Only estimator sites like Searvia list it at $1–5K/month.
  • This niche in Turkey is already crowded, so nobody needs to copy it specifically. Similar apps keep appearing after its launch: Hoca AI: Prayer Times (W2 Teknoloji, 10-30), Medina: Quran & Qibla (10-20, Top Grossing #6), Prayer Times & Quran – Semadan (10-13), Ayet Widget (10-08), Hüccet (08-08), Muslim Widgets (08-13), and Rahle (08-06).

7. What others can learn

  • Start with local charts and look for a market that's willing to pay for faith and habit tools. Turkey's Reference category has a low bar: a few dozen downloads a day can get you into the top ten, and revenue can be steady.
  • Build Apple-platform exclusives (CarPlay, Live Activities, Watch, Lock Screen widgets), then keep hammering the same scenario through App Store in-app events and Meta creatives, such as "never miss prayer time while driving".
  • Ask for ratings during onboarding, then put up a hard paywall. This builds ratings and revenue quickly, but the cost is a pile of "too expensive / even prayer times are paid" one-star reviews.
  • Lesson from the other side: the all-in-one loses to the single-feature hit. In the same market, Quran Widgets, with just the Lock Screen verse feature, is growing 30 times faster.

8. Still unclear

  • We don't have the rating curve from before 10-28, so we can't tell whether the early high growth came from paid acquisition, Apple featuring, or the rating popup.
  • The scale of Meta ad spend (number of ads, spend). The web ad library wouldn't render results by page, so keyword searches found only 3 active ads, and the real number is likely higher.
  • Whether they run Apple Search Ads: no data source.
  • Real revenue: we only have chart positions and third-party estimates, with nothing verified.
