# A period app that hasn't broken out yet: Vea. What's worth watching is the team behind it, which makes $200K/month

**What it is** A period tracking app that splits the month into four phases (menstruation, follicular, ovulation, luteal) and gives daily food, exercise, and sleep advice. It's subscription-based.

**Why it's getting attention** It hasn't really taken off yet. The same team's calorie app Welmi already proved "subscription paywall + TikTok local-language paid acquisition". Starting in Oct 27, they ran Ukrainian-language ads for Vea, pushing it into the Top Grossing charts in low-cost markets like Ukraine and Venezuela.

**C** **How you could follow it** Don't copy the period app. If you already have paid acquisition working in a health subscription category, borrow the approach: use the same paywall and attribution setup to launch new apps in adjacent categories, and test creatives and pricing in cheap markets like Ukraine or Latin America first.

Grade C: Vea itself hasn't been proven. The period category already has Flo and Clue, and this year a dozen new cycle-syncing apps have squeezed in. Its breakout depends on the parent company's existing paid acquisition capability, which followers don't have. What you can learn is the playbook, not the product. Few people know about it yet

Vea is an app that tells you what to eat and how to move based on the four phases of your period. In early November it climbed into the health Top Grossing charts in Ukraine, Venezuela, and Belarus, yet it has only 23 ratings worldwide. It hasn't broken out. What's worth watching is the small Cypriot team behind it: their previous app hit $200K/month in subscription revenue, and they've now moved the same paid acquisition template into the period category. Below, I explain what the template is and why you probably shouldn't follow them into period apps.

### "Glowing on the Dynamic Island all the time: 70% off"

In Oct 2026 16, a Russian user gave Vea a 2-star review titled "Pretty, but really annoying". She had just downloaded it and wanted to try the free version first. She liked the interface, but the Dynamic Island at the top of her iPhone kept glowing "скидка 70%" (70% off), and the app icon stayed there even after she quit and switched to other apps. She decided to delete it and tried to log out and erase her data first, but the button just kept spinning. "I waited 20 minutes, the data wasn't deleted, the account wasn't logged out, so I just uninstalled it."

Eleven days later, on Oct 27, an account called vea.app.official started running Ukrainian-language ads on TikTok. One read:

> Ти не лінива і не надто чутлива — просто твоє тіло живе за циклом. Завантаж Vea

It roughly means "You're not lazy, and you're not overly sensitive. Your body just runs on a cycle. Download Vea." By Nov 4, this account had 169 ads in TikTok's ad library, 166 of them written in Cyrillic.

Put these two things together and you have nearly all of Vea right now: a well-designed product, an aggressive paywall, and a paid acquisition push that's just getting started.

### What it is

A period tracking app built on "cycle syncing", a concept that's become popular over the last couple of years. It divides the month into menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal phases, and each time you open it, it tells you what to eat, how hard to train, when to push, and when to rest, with plain-language explanations of estrogen and progesterone. It also has a predictive calendar, two-way Apple Health sync, and a PDF report you can export for your doctor.

Launched in Aug 2026 16. Free to download, subscription-based: monthly is $4.99, and yearly appears alongside several tiers at $19.99, $23.99, $35.99, and $47.99 (US App Store page), which looks like price testing (inferred). Updates were frequent from 9 through October; the current version is 28 from Oct 1.7.3. It supports only six languages: English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian. The Spanish-market store title was changed to "Ciclo y menstruación".

### Is it actually popular? No.

On Nov 6, Vea shows up on health charts in 22 countries. It looks impressive, but the charts it's on are small markets:

| Storefront | 11-06 health category rank | Ratings count in this store |
|---|---|---|
| Venezuela | Top Grossing #9 (11-05 #3), overall chart #163 | 1 |
| Ukraine | Top Grossing #14, ahead of Flo (#22) | 9 (10-28 is 4) |
| Cyprus | Top Grossing #24 | 0 |
| Latvia | Top Grossing #30 | 0 |
| Belarus | Top Grossing #62 (bouncing between #10 and #62 these days) | 4 |
| Mali | Top Grossing #130 (10-28 is #6) | 0 |

These storefronts have very few paying users. One or two annual subscriptions is enough to push an app into the top 20 of the health Top Grossing chart. Venezuela ranks #3 with only 1 ratings, so rank doesn't mean scale. Global ratings total 23, up 7 in the last 7 days. Working backwards from the ratings, it's probably around a thousand downloads and roughly $1K in revenue a month right now (estimate, unverified).

Ukraine is the only place with a clear trend: from 10-28 to 11-02 it sat at #7–10 on the health Top Free chart, then from 11-03 it moved to #12–16 on Top Grossing, and ratings rose from 4 to 9. The timing lines up right after TikTok Ukrainian-language ads started running.

### Where users come from: bought, starting with the cheapest places

In the TikTok Ad Library, Vea's advertiser is T-SHAPED APPS LTD, registered in Cyprus and paying for its own ads. The company has three TikTok accounts and three apps, and the library shows 684 of its ads in total:

- **Welmi** (AI calorie tracking): 272 ads, starting 2025-08-21

- **Gymtone** (fitness plans): 227 ads

- **Vea** : 169 ads, earliest 2026-10-27

Vea's copy plays on emotion and skips features: "Don't want to see anyone during your luteal phase? Totally normal. Vea tells you what to do" and "Intense training on day one of your period just drains your energy...". The ads target all of Europe plus Turkey, and each one reaches under a thousand people, a small-budget strategy of testing many creatives. Active ad count swings a lot: 11-02 was 232 ads, 11-05 was 419, then it dropped to 192 ads by 11-06; creatives are launched and shut off in batches. The library only covers TikTok ads shown in Europe, so whether they ran in Latin America (Venezuela, Chile) can't be seen. I found no Vea ads on Meta, but not finding them doesn't mean they didn't run.

Almost no organic traction: @vea.app.official has 525 followers, 31 videos, and 15.6k likes (TikTok, 11-06); it doesn't show up in X search; there's no press coverage and no creator reviews.

### Who's behind it: a template that already works

T-SHAPED APPS LTD was registered in Cyprus in March 2025, and its LinkedIn lists 2–10 employees. It prioritized Russian and Ukrainian languages, which suggests an Eastern European team (inference).

Its first app, Welmi, really did take off. A customer case study published by subscription tool vendor Adapty in December 2025 says Welmi launched in March 2025, hit $60K in monthly subscription revenue in August, $150K in October, and passed $200K in November. The case study says the team switched attribution tools because the previous vendor's pricing "made it impossible to make the numbers work in cheap-traffic storefronts." Welmi now has about 215K iOS ratings across storefronts, 1.82M installs on Google Play, +47K in the last 7 days, and ranks #3 on Ukraine's health Top Grossing chart and #2 in Belarus (11-06).

Its second app, Gymtone, launched on iOS in June 2026. It has 180K installs on Play, +30K in the last 7 days, and is already growing.

Vea is the third, built exactly like Welmi: the same developer account, the same package-name prefix (com.fitme); the same Adapty paywall and Dynamic Island discount; the same local-language TikTok pain-point copy; and the same first targets in cheap storefronts where Flo and Clue don't spend much, like Ukraine, Belarus, and Latin America. In other words, Vea can break through because this team already has ready-made ad accounts, attribution, paywalls, and creative know-how, not because of the product itself.

### Who it's competing with: a lot of apps

Period apps are one of the most crowded categories on the App Store, and the "plan diet and exercise around your cycle" pitch has been made before:

| Competitors | Launched | Scale | Compared with Vea |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flo | 2015 | Up to 2M ratings in a single iOS storefront | Global #1, tracking plus content |
| Clue | 2013 | About 400K iOS ratings across 84 storefronts | Science-leaning, neutral |
| Clover / My Cycle | 2018–2019 | 5–100K ratings in Russian-speaking storefronts alone | Established local player in Russian-speaking markets, free tracking |
| Lively - Cycle Syncing | 2023 | Up to 55K ratings across 55 storefronts | Nearly identical positioning, English first |
| Harmony: Cycle Syncing | 2024-11 | About 4,600 ratings | Also from a paid-acquisition studio |
| 28 / MyFLO / Wild.AI / Hormona | 2016–2022 | Dozens to thousands of ratings | Early mover; MyFLO's Alisa Vitti has trademarked "Cycle Syncing®" |
| Eve Rhythm and other 2026 launches | From ¥2026-05 | Eve Rhythm has 801 ratings, +332 in 7 days | A dozen-plus similar apps launched this year |

On top of that, iPhone's built-in Health app already has cycle tracking, and Oura, Whoop, and BetterMe have all built it too. Vea's features are nearly indistinguishable from Lively and Harmony. Its only difference is the languages and regions it advertises in.

### If it were you

**Verdict:** Don't go in thinking "I'll build a cycle-syncing period app." Vea hasn't proven itself yet. The category already has Flo and Clue, and a dozen-plus new entrants squeezed in this year. Vea is breaking through on its parent team's proven paid-acquisition machine, which a follower can't simply borrow. Learn from this team's playbook, not from this app.

**Who it's for:** small teams that have already made Meta/TikTok paid acquisition profitable on ROAS in some health-subscription category and want to launch a second or third app on the same infrastructure.

**Who it's not for:** indie devs who've never run ads and hope to grow through store search or content. The period-tracking keywords are already owned by big players, so organic traffic is hard to get.

**How to do it:**

1. **One stack, many apps.** Build the paywall, attribution, and creative workflow once, then launch an app for an adjacent health audience (calories → fitness → periods) at low marginal cost. Start with a category next to the audience where you already have ad capability.

2. **Test in cheap storefronts first.** Ukraine, Belarus, and Latin America have low CPI, few native-language competitors, and a lower bar for Top Grossing charts, so one or two subscriptions can get you charted and earn visibility. Validate creative and pricing there before moving to expensive markets.

3. **Localize the store page and ads for real.** Not just translation: swap titles for the terms locals actually search ("Ciclo y menstruación"), and write emotional pain-point copy the way locals talk.

4. **Win-back discounts are fine, but don't turn them into harassment.** A persistent Dynamic Island discount may lift conversion, but that user's bad review shows the cost. Accounts and data that can't be deleted also carry compliance risk in health apps.

**How to acquire users:** run short local-language pain-point ads on TikTok and Meta, launch dozens to hundreds of creatives at once, spend small budgets, shut them off in batches, and filter by ROAS.

**When to move:** this playbook doesn't have a deadline, but cheap storefronts get more expensive as more people pile in, and this year has already brought many new cycle apps. The later you start, the more crowded it gets.

**What would mean we're reading it wrong:** If Vea climbs the Health top 50 in regions beyond Ukraine and Latin America (the US, Germany, Brazil) and its rating goes into the thousands in the next two or three months, that means cycle syncing plus small-language paid acquisition is a gap that can scale, and period tracker apps deserve a higher grade. If the team quietly kills Vea's paid acquisition, the template didn't pencil out in this category, which would confirm not to follow it.

Where users come from

- **Confirmed** **TikTok ads (in Ukrainian)** : tiktokads library: advertiser T-SHAPED APPS LTD (Cyprus) has 169 Vea ads, running 2026-10-27 to 11-04, all Ukrainian-language pain-point copy, account vea.app.official. Over the same period, UA ratings rose from 4 to 9 and it entered the top 16 of the H&F chart

- **Confirmed** **Parent company's ready-made paid acquisition infrastructure (Adapty attribution and paywall)** : Adapty case study: Welmi used Adapty Attribution to manage Meta/TikTok ROAS, with MRR above $200k; Welmi has one Page running 815 ads on Meta; Vea and Welmi share the com.fitme package prefix

- Inferred **Meta ads** : No Vea ads seen in the metaads library (it only tracks Pages on its list)

- **Confirmed** **Organic TikTok content** : @vea.app.official has 524 followers, 31 videos, 15.6k likes (TikHub 11-06), a very small volume

- **Confirmed** **Chart exposure in small storefronts** : The H&F Top Grossing bar in storefronts like ve, ml, cy, and lv is extremely low; 0–1 ratings is enough to reach the top 30

## Vea - Period Tracker, Cycle (iOS 6787255950) research report

Research date 2026-11-06. Storefronts checked: the appstore library scanned all 115 storefronts (Vea was on the category charts in 22 that day), with focus on ua, ve, by, ru, cy, lv, ee, and ml, and comparisons with us, es, and mx.

### Bottom line

Vea is **not breaking out yet** . It's the third app from T-SHAPED APPS LTD, a small team in Cyprus. They first proved out a playbook with Welmi (AI calorie tracking): Adapty + Meta/TikTok paid acquisition + an aggressive paywall. Adapty's case study says Welmi's November MRR topped $200K, with 2025 years of data. They then built Gymtone (fitness plans) and Vea (period/cycle tracking). Starting 2026-10-27, the team began running Vea ads on TikTok in Ukrainian, which lines up with Vea charting in small-market Top Grossing lists in Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltics. Those storefronts' Health & Fitness grossing charts are easy to crack, but Vea has only 23 ratings globally, with just 7 more in the last 7 days. That's far from breaking out. What's worth watching isn't Vea itself, but the team copying the same health-category paid acquisition template into a new niche.

### 1. Current data (appstore library, 2026-10-28 to 11-06)

- Launched 2026-08-16, free to download with in-app purchases. Only EN, FR, DE, RU, ES, and UK languages (app table); Welmi has 35.

- Ratings: about 23 total across storefronts (data card, 11-06). Most is ua with 9 (10-28 was 4, rising to 11-06 at 9), by 4, ru 5, cl and es 2 each, the rest 0–1.

- Ranks (Health & Fitness category chart, best ranks):
    - ua: from 10-28 to 11-02 on the Top Free chart at #7–#10; from 11-03 it moved to Top Grossing at #12–#16, with 11-06 hitting #14 on grossing, ahead of Flo (#22).
    - ve:11-05 Top Grossing #3,11-06 #9 in the same store, while also charting #163 on the overall Top Grossing chart, yet that store has only 1 ratings.
    - ml (Mali): 10-28 Top Grossing #6, then dropped to #130 by 11-06, with 0 ratings in this store.
    - Also by bounced between #10–#62; cy was #24, lv #30, and ee #63.
    - These are all small storefronts with few paying users. One or two annual subscriptions can push you into the top 20 of the category grossing chart, so rank doesn't mean scale.

- Pricing (App Store US page): monthly subscription at $4.99; annual options at $19.99, $23.99, $35.99, and $47.99, plus a $19.99 / $29.99 "premium" tier. Multiple annual price points are listed at once, which looks like price A/B testing (inferred).

- Versions: 9–October iterated quickly. 1.4 added two-way Apple Health sync; 1.5 added import from Health, symptom prediction, and in-app language switching; 1.6 added flow intensity and a doctor report that exports as PDF; 1.7.2 / 1.7.3 were fix releases for 10-27 and 10-28 (app_snapshot and App Store version history).

- The only review (ru, 2026-10-16,2 stars): the user said the interface looks nice, but "7 off" and the app icon stayed on the Dynamic Island and didn't go away even after quitting the app, so she got annoyed and deleted it. This suggests it runs discount reminders persistently through Live Activity, and the paywall is aggressive.

### 2. Where users come from: paid acquisition, with solid evidence

- **TikTok ads (tiktokads library, covers European campaigns only)** : The advertiser T-SHAPED APPS LTD is registered in Cyprus, the payer is itself, and it owns 3 TikTok accounts: welmi.ai, gymtone.app, and vea.app.official. The library shows 684 ads from this company in total: Welmi 272 ads (from 2025-08-21), Gymtone 227 ads (from 10-27), **Vea 169 ads, earliest 2026-10-27** , still running as of 11-04, with all copy in Ukrainian (166 contain Cyrillic). Examples:
    - "Ти не лінива і не надто чутлива — просто твоє тіло живе за циклом. Завантаж Vea" (You're not lazy or overly sensitive, your body just runs on a cycle. Download Vea)
    - "Не хочеться нікого бачити в лютеїнову фазу? Це нормально. Vea підкаже, що робити" (Don't want to see anyone in the luteal phase? That's normal. Vea will tell you what to do)
    - "Важке тренування в перший день місячних лише забирає сили…" (A heavy workout on day one of your period only drains your energy...) These ads target all of Europe plus Turkey, with per-ad reach in the 0–1K range. Ukraine ratings rose from 4 to 9, free chart ranks #7–#10, and it surfaced on grossing, a timeline that matches this campaign exactly.

- Number of active TikTok ads from this advertiser: 11-02 was 232 ads, 11-05 was 419 ads, 11-06 was 192 ads; on 11-02, 7 new ads were added over 1,218 days (tiktokads advertiser_snap). New creatives are launched and shut down in batches.

- **Meta** : In the metaads library, Welmi has 4 Pages running ads; "Welmi App - Calorie Counter & Nutrition" runs 815 ads, and the other two Pages have historical totals of 1,289 and 2,036. Landing pages go through api-ua.adapty.io and attribution.welmi.ai. **No Vea Meta ads seen in the library** , but Meta's library only tracks Pages on its list, so not finding them doesn't mean they aren't running.

- Organic channels: the TikTok account @vea.app.official has 524 followers, 31 videos, and 15.6k total likes (TikHub, 11-06). Searches on X for Vea, veaapp, and T-Shaped turn up nothing (x-radar, last 90 days). Web search only returns store pages and APK sites, with no media coverage and no creator reviews.

- Bottom line: users are mostly bought, starting with cheap test markets where competition in the native language is low, like Ukraine.

### 3. The team and playbook: copying through resources

- T-SHAPED APPS LTD: Cypriot company, registration no. ΗΕ 472504,2025-03-15 (i-cyprus.com / companiesregistry.cy). LinkedIn lists 2–10 people, co-founder named Sergey. Language coverage leads with Russian and Ukrainian, suggesting an Eastern European team (inferred).

- Welmi: 2025-02-28 on iOS. iOS ratings across storefronts total about 215k, +7 in the last 554 days (appstore library). Play version has 1.82M installs, +7k in 47 days (googleplay library). Adapty's official case study states: launched in 2025 March, August MRR $60k, October $150k, and **November over $200k** . The team used Adapty Attribution to manage ROAS across Meta and TikTok, deliberately testing cheap traffic storefronts. Welmi is currently #3 on ua Top Grossing, #2 on by, #5 on ar, and #5 on lv (category charts, 11-06).

- Gymtone (2026-06-23 on iOS, 2026-07-20 on Play): on iOS its best single storefront has 340 ratings, and across storefronts it gained +7 in 139 days; Play has 180k installs, +7k in 30 days. This shows the second app has started to gain traction.

- Vea follows exactly the same path as Welmi: same developer account, with package name com.fitme.ovelia.app sharing a prefix with Welmi's com.fitme.companion.app; the same Adapty paywall and Live Activity discounts; the same local-language TikTok pain-point copy; and the same first targets in cheap storefronts like Ukraine, Belarus, and Latin America.

### 4. Competitors

The niche itself is crowded, and the "phase-based diet and exercise advice" (cycle syncing) pitch was already taken:

- **Flo** (2015): Largest globally, up to 2M ratings in a single iOS storefront. Offers cycle-phase interpretation and health content, but its core is tracking and prediction. Vea once ranked ahead of it on the ua grossing chart only because of the low bar in small storefronts.

- **Clue** (2013): 400k iOS ratings, available in 84 storefronts. Science-oriented, neutral in style.

- **Period Tracker (ABISHKKING)** , **Pepapp** , **Stardust** (120k ratings), **MeetYou** : long-running general tracking tools.

- **Clover / My Cycle (Wachanga, Aleksei Neiman)** : long-established local Russian-language apps, 5–100k ratings in the Russian-only store. These are Vea's direct competitors in ru, ua, and by.

- **Lively - Cycle Syncing** (2023): leads with cycle syncing, up to 55k ratings across 55 storefronts, with one storefront gaining +7 in the last 70 days. The closest positioning match to Vea.

- **Harmony: Cycle Syncing (Rocapine)** (2024-11): also from a paid-acquisition studio, about 4,600 ratings.

- **28 / MyFLO / Hormona / Wild.AI / Balance** : schedule exercise and nutrition by cycle, or are dedicated hormone apps. Alisa Vitti, behind MyFLO, registered the "Cycle Syncing®" trademark.

- **A batch of new cycle-syncing apps in 2026** : Syncira(09-19), Rhythmus(09-05), Bloomelle(10-07), Lunara(10-30), Rhythms(10-29), Eve Rhythm(05-27, already at 801 ratings, 7 days +332), Spanda(06-30), WOMY(07-22), and more. The App Store library turns up a dozen or so.

- **Big-tech features** : Apple Health has period logging built in, and Oura, Whoop, and BetterMe have added cycle tracking too (BetterMe has a Cycle Tracker).

### 5. Differentiation

- On the product side: the pitch is "open the app and it tells you what to eat, how to move, when to push, and when to rest today." Four phases come with hormone explanations, each day brings tickable suggestions, plus two-way Apple Health sync and a PDF report for your doctor. That's nearly identical to Lively, Harmony, and 28. **No distinctive feature** .

- What's actually different comes down to two things. First, **localization** : the Spanish and Ukrainian store pages and ads are done well, and the title is rewritten in Spanish for Spanish-speaking markets, e.g. "Ciclo y menstruación". Second, **market selection** : it targets Ukraine, Belarus, and Latin America, where Flo and Clue don't buy much paid traffic and clicks are cheap.

- So it can break into small-market Top Grossing charts by leaning on distribution and the team's existing capabilities, not product differentiation. And that kind of breakout is still very small in scale.

### 6. Visibility and copycats

- Vea itself: **almost no one knows about it** . No press coverage, zero on X, and just one user review.

- Parent company: Welmi's revenue is public (Adapty case study, MRR above $200k), and the team is known in subscription-app circles.

- Copycats: nobody is specifically cloning Vea. The cycle-syncing category has been drawing a wave of new apps for 2026 years (see above).

### 7. What to borrow

1. Once a category works, reuse the same infrastructure: Adapty for paywall and attribution, TikTok/Meta copy in local languages that speaks to pain points, and cheap small markets first. Using this playbook to open adjacent "health × women / men" categories, the marginal cost of launching a new app is low.

2. Test creatives and pricing first in low-cost markets like Ukraine, Belarus, and Latin America. Chart thresholds there are low, and you get Top Grossing visibility as a side benefit.

3. Use a Live Activity / Dynamic Island persistent discount to win back non-paying users. Conversion may improve, but it draws negative reviews (ru reviews), so weigh the trade-off.

4. Copy should hit emotional pain points ("You're not lazy, it's your luteal phase") rather than just listing features.

### 8. Still unclear

- Vea's actual downloads and revenue: the data card estimates monthly revenue around $1K and monthly downloads around 1K, unverified.

- Whether Meta ads were run for Vea. The TikTok library only covers Europe, so ad activity in Latin America (ve, cl, mx) isn't visible.

- How Venezuela 11-05 reached #3 in Top Grossing: possibly a few annual subscriptions, possibly test accounts. That market has only 1 ratings.

- Vea's Play version: not in our library. The data card says 1000+ installs, unverified.

- Whether the team will increase Vea's budget. TikTok ad counts rise and fall in batches, dropping from 11-06 to 192 ads, and it's unclear whether Vea's creatives were shut down.
