# A food delivery app from a Thai provincial town hits #28 on the food chart: 33 orders a day, but what they're really selling is franchising

**What it is** A food delivery platform for a district town in northeast Thailand. Customers order through a LINE mini-program, with separate merchant and rider apps, and the company is also recruiting district partners to franchise.

**Why it took off** It didn't really take off: in Nov 2 it posted a promotion with a shipping voucher in local Facebook groups, and a few dozen new downloads a day were enough to put it in the top 30 of the Thai food chart.

**C** **How you could respond** Don't build a town food delivery app again. Instead, take the subscription idea (city children pay, a village shop cooks for elderly parents, and each meal is photographed and sent to the children's phones) to areas with many left-behind elderly.

Grade C: the product is tiny (about 3,200 orders in three months), and bigger players already dominate Thai town delivery, franchising and white-label, including Ant, BeeGo and SiamIT. The Care subscription and the launch sequence are worth studying, but there's no paid data behind them, so chasing it directly isn't worth the effort. Few people know about it yet

FoodSpark is a small company in Ban Phue District, Udon Thani Province, northeast Thailand, running delivery for its district town. In Nov 2 it reached #28 on both the App Store and Google Play free food and drink charts in Thailand. The cause wasn't a surge, it was a local Facebook group promotion that landed just as chart thresholds were very low. The app itself isn't worth copying, since this category in Thailand is already crowded. Two things are worth taking: the expansion order of proving it in your hometown first and then recruiting partners district by district, and the subscription idea of "city children pay, and village parents get a meal."

### Nov 2, two posts in district town Facebook groups

In November 2, FoodSpark's Facebook page posted in the Ban Phue district community group "อ.บ้านผือ l Ban Phue-Udonthani": an image collage of local shops with the text "56 shops in Ban Phue," plus two coupons valid in November, BANPHUE15 (100 baht off with 15 shipping discount) and SONGFREE (60 off for new customers with 20 shipping discount). The same day, it also posted "COMEBACK SOON" in the Udon Thani city food group "กินไรดี อุดรธานี," saying it would return to the city with a new approach.

Both posts got only a few likes. But that same day it jumped from #60 to #28 on the Thailand App Store free food and drink chart, and on Google Play the same chart went from #48 to #28. Both stores moved on the same day as the posts.

### What it is

It's a delivery platform covering Ban Phue and a few nearby districts, plus some services specific to district towns: buying goods from local markets, sending riders into the city to queue at famous shops, bookings, group orders with automatic bill splitting, a wallet, and payment by PromptPay QR or cash on delivery. Customers mainly use a LINE mini-program (the website's first line is "Order in LINE, no download needed") and log in with a LINE account. There's also a merchant app (with POS) and a rider app.

The company behind it is TECH SPARK INTERNET. Registered in Jan 2026 7 with a registered capital of 20K baht (about $600), two Thai shareholders, and an address in a village in Bang Pa district. Its business scope is written as plainly as "digital platform for food delivery and logistics" (Thai business registry). The website's "Our Story" page says: "We're not an app from Bangkok with venture money behind it. Every line of code is ours." But its Android package name is `space.manus.foodspark.t20260320042259`, which was generated by the AI agent Manus, with a timestamp of Mar 20.

Timeline: iOS launch in Jul 10, opening in Ban Phue in Aug 1; pushed into Udon Thani city in late September, and by early October said it covered Ban Phue, Nong Song, Kut Chap and the city. The city is now marked "paused" on the website, which is the "COMEBACK SOON" from 11-02. The first push into the city didn't hold.

### How many people it took to hit #28

| Date | iOS food and drink free chart | iOS ratings (cumulative) | Play food and drink free chart | Play installs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10-29 | 60 | 26 | 48 | 850 |
| 11-01 | 60 | 26 | 48 | 907 |
| 11-02 | 28 | 27 | 28 | 907 |
| 11-04 | 26 | 36 | 28 | 967 |
| 11-06 | 30 | 42 | 22 | 1,121 |

(App Store and Google Play, Thailand storefront, 10-29 to 11-06)

The bar on the Thai charts is very low. KOI Thé, a bubble tea app that ranked #21 on iOS during 11-06, had only 30 ratings in total. FoodSpark adding 2–5 ratings a day was enough to hold around #30; on Play, 271 new installs over 7 days, roughly 60–90 a day, got it to #22. Converted to people, "hitting the charts" meant a few dozen new downloads a day.

The homepage shows live numbers (11-06): 4,353 users, 600 merchants, 101 riders, 3,191 orders in total. Since opening on Aug 1, that's 97 days, averaging about 33 orders a day. The site itself says the platform takes about ฿7 per order on average. Run that math over three-plus months and the platform has pulled in roughly ฿22k total, under $700 (est.). Discount the merchant count too: the site says 196 merchants in Banpu, but its own post from 11-02 says 56.

The reviews are more honest. iOS: 4.6 stars from 43 ratings. One says "fast delivery, the rider was very polite." Another says "didn't wait long for the food." In Sep 20, someone asked for cash on delivery, and a later version added it.

### Where users come from

- **County Facebook community groups** : the main channel. From the Page account, they repeatedly post "local shop roundup + discount code + download link" into the Banpu, Nan Song and Udon groups (8-02, 9-13, 10-08, 11-02 all have it). Engagement is low, but county groups are the local info board people check every day.

- **Delivery and new-user coupons** : two November coupons valid until 11-30, plus a prize draw at launch.

- **LINE mini-program, no install needed** : many users never touch the App Store, so store rankings and ratings only capture part of the user base.

- **Facebook ads** : the site has the Meta Pixel installed, but no ads it's running turned up. Unverified.

- TikTok, X, press: none found.

### What it actually wants to sell

Most of the site isn't about food delivery. It's recruiting "เจ้าถิ่น" (local partners), meaning district-level partners. Three tiers:

| Model | What the partner pays | What the partner gets |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue share | No franchise fee, no monthly fee | 40% of the platform's verified revenue in that district |
| License | Monthly fee based on district size | 70%+ |
| White label | Negotiated separately | All revenue in the district, under their own brand |

Partners handle signing up shops, managing riders and local promotion. The platform supplies the three-app system, collects payments and splits the money. The site says it takes 2–4 weeks from first contact to opening a district, and lists 24 districts as "in preparation," including several in Pattaya and Bangkok.

Its earnings example: one district at 1,000 orders a month gives the partner about ฿7,000 a month. But a footnote on the same page says "estimated at the platform's average of about ฿7 per order, split 40%," which gives only ฿2,800 for 1,000 orders. The table and the footnote differ by more than double. Either way, at 1,000 orders a month a district partner gets pocket money. FoodSpark's own showcase district is currently doing about 1,000 orders a month (est.).

Another idea is **FoodSpark Care** : adult children working in the city pay, and small village shops cook meals for their parents every day, delivered to the door. Riders photograph each meal, with the food and the elderly parent in frame, and send it to the child's LINE. 7 meals for ฿499; lunch daily, 30 meals for ฿1,990; three meals a day, 90 meals for ฿4,990. You can pause, skip, or change the menu. The pain point on the page is pointed: the elderly can't cook for themselves anymore, "some days they eat only rice with chili paste," and when the children call, the answer is always "fine, I've eaten." Young people leaving the northeast to work while parents stay behind is very common in Thailand, and this is one of the rare things in this space where people are willing to pay upfront. But there's no usage data to back it up yet.

### Who it's competing with

| Competitors | Scale | Compared with alternatives |
|---|---|---|
| LINE MAN, Grab | National platforms. LINE MAN ranks #1 in Thailand's iOS food chart, about 910k ratings | Only delivers in Banpu during some hours, high commission, small shops don't want to join |
| Ant Delivery | iOS 45k ratings, Play 1.09M installs, claims to have opened in over 150 districts | Leader of the same "county + franchise" playbook, franchise fee from ฿199,000 |
| BeeGo(237 Solutions) | 20 white-label delivery apps under its name | Nearly identical: customer app, merchant POS, rider app, LINE mini-program, annual fee ฿2.9–60k |
| SiamIT | 58 county delivery apps under its name | Outsourced delivery, one brand per county |
| RUN Delivery / FoodDee | 599 / 1,101 ratings | Already has franchise outlets in Banpu, entered a few years earlier |
| JetX, SOOK and other province- and county-level delivery apps | JetX Play 38k installs | Same stretch of the chart as it |
| Individual runners taking orders in groups | Present in every county | No system. FoodSpark wants to recruit them as partners |

(App Store, Google Play and each company's website, 11-06)

The takeaway is straightforward: county-level delivery plus district franchising and white-label systems have been running in Thailand for years. Some players have reached 150 counties, and some hold dozens of white-label apps. FoodSpark is a very late entrant, and only two things set it apart: no franchise fee, and Care.

### If it were you

**The one-line call** : don't build another county delivery app in Thailand, and don't treat its chart rankings as a signal. What's worth taking is the paid idea of "ordering meals for parents left behind, with photos sent back," plus a low-cost sequence: AI-generated three-app system, a hometown county as the showcase, then recruiting partners on revenue share.

**Who it suits** : people who live in a county, or whose hometown is one, and already have relationships with local merchants and riders. Small teams wanting to build services where adult children pay for their parents. China's county regions, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines all have large numbers of young people working away from home and elderly left behind.

**Who it doesn't suit** : anyone counting on the app itself or on commission (the platform takes about ฿7 per order, dozens of orders a day, which is a couple hundred baht a day, not enough to pay one employee); anyone wanting to sell a delivery system to others in Thailand (Ant, BeeGo and SiamIT already sell them); anyone who isn't on the ground and can't personally negotiate with shops and manage riders.

**How to do it:**

1. Don't build a full-featured delivery app. Do only Care: the children order and pay in WeChat, LINE or Zalo, one or two local shops cook, one rider delivers, and each meal is photographed and sent back. Sell a 7-day trial pack first.

2. Put the customer side inside the local super-app's mini-program so no one has to download an app. Generate the merchant and rider apps quickly with AI tools, good enough to run.

3. Fill 50 households in one village or one town first. Work out per-meal costs, delivery radius and repeat purchases, then consider recruiting a partner for a second district.

**How to get users** : the person paying is in the city, the person eating is in the village, so the ads should target adult children working away from home: hometown groups, fellow-villager associations, and Facebook or Douyin local accounts where migrant workers gather. Creative can be the riders' photos and videos of "an elderly person taking the food box." On the village end, rely on local community groups and word of mouth, the same way FoodSpark posts in the Banpu groups.

**When is the deadline** : there isn't one. This demand is tied to holidays. Around Songkran and Chinese New Year, children most want to do something for their parents, so have the trial pack and the first batch of photo material ready before then.

**Signs you've misread it** : ① If FoodSpark's 24 districts in preparation still haven't opened one by next March, or the Care page quietly disappears, that means "partners plus ordering meals for parents" hasn't worked even in its own hometown. ② Conversely, if after returning to the urban district its two shops hold the top 30 in the charts and ratings rise by more than ten a week, then county delivery demand itself is bigger than estimated here.

## FoodSpark สั่งอาหาร (ios_6788395612) research report

> Research date 2026-11-06. Market covered: Thailand (th). It is listed only in Thailand and charts only there. Data comes from our appstore, googleplay and metaads libraries, plus the website, public Facebook posts and company registry records; sources are at the end.

### One line

It is a food delivery platform built by a newly registered small software company in Ban Phue district, Udon Thani province, Thailand, aimed at the county town. The customer side runs mainly as a LINE Mini App, with a rider app, a merchant app and a POS. The "chart climb" comes from organic orders in the town plus a round of promo posts in local Facebook community groups in November. It shows up on the low bar of Thailand's Food & Drink free chart, and it is not a national breakout. What's worth studying is the playbook, not the app: the company runs one county as a showcase, then sells the full system to "exclusive district partners" (revenue share 40%, licence fee, or white-label). The catch is that several earlier, larger players are already on this path in Thailand.

### 1. Basics

- **Developer** : TECH SPARK INTERNET CO., LTD. (บริษัท เทค สปาร์ค อินเทอร์เน็ต จำกัด), registration no. 0415569000051, **registered 2026-01-07** , registered capital **฿20k** , 2 Thai shareholders. Address in Na Ning village, Ban Phue district (dataforthai.com). The registered business scope is literally "food delivery and logistics digital platform", so the company was set up for this. The parent site techsparks-co-th.com also takes outsourced work (websites and apps). The founder names himself อัครชัย วารีรัตน์ (see the website's /story page).

- **App lineup** (iTunes lookup): customer app FoodSpark สั่งอาหาร (id6788395612, bundle com.techsparks.foodspark, listed 2026-07-10, v1.0.8), FoodSpark ร้านค้า (merchant app, 07-19), and FoodSpark Rider (rider app, 07-19). The last two both have 0 ratings. The Android customer app's package name is `space.manus.foodspark.t20260320042259`, meaning **the Android version was generated and published with Manus (an AI agent)** , timestamp 2026-03-20, even though the website claims "every line of code was written by hand".

- **Launch timeline** (Facebook page "FoodSpark - สั่งอาหาร"): 07-25 teaser, **2026-08-01 launched in Ban Phue** → around 09-20 announced expansion into Udon Thani city (เมืองอุดร) → 10-08 posted that it covered Ban Phue, Nong Song, Ko Chang and Udon city → the website now marks the city as paused (พักชั่วคราว), and 11-02 posted in the "กินไรดี อุดรธานี" group **"COMEBACK SOON"** , saying it would return to the city with a new approach. So **the first city expansion did not hold** .

- **Live numbers on the website** (values from the homepage RSC payload, scraped 2026-11-06): users 4,353, merchants 600, riders 101, delivery success rate 92%, **cumulative orders 3,191** , "7-day growth +122%". Merchant count by area: Ban Phue 196, Non Sung 101, Ko Chang 79, Na Ning 54, Nong Song 67, total 497. But 11-02 its own post in the Ban Phue group says "56 shops in Ban Phue", which does not match the website's 196. **The website count probably includes inactive or bulk-imported shops** . I have not verified this.

- **Order volume** : 8-01 has been live for about 97 days with 3,191 orders in total, roughly 33 orders a day. The partner page says the platform averages about ฿7 per order. On that basis, cumulative platform gross revenue is roughly ฿22k (about US$600). That is a very small business.

### 2. How much did it actually "run" in the data?

| Date | iOS Thailand Food & Drink free chart | iOS cumulative rating (daily change) | Play Thailand Food & Drink free chart | Play installs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10-28 | 53 | 25 | — | — |
| 10-29 | 60 | 26(+1) | 48 | 850 |
| 10-31 | 71 | 26 | 58 | 907 |
| 11-01 | 60 | 26 | 48 | 907 |
| 11-02 | **28** | 27(+1) | **28** | 907 |
| 11-03 | 30 | 32(+5) | 26 | 967 |
| 11-04 | 26 | 36(+4) | 28 | 967 |
| 11-05 | 27 | 38(+2) | 21 | 1,054 |
| 11-06 | 30 | 42(+4) | 22 | 1,121 |

(appstore.app_day, googleplay.chart_rank / app_day)

- 11-02 Two shops **on the same day** jumped from outside the top 50 to 28. The timing lines up with 11-02, when it posted in the Ban Phue community group ("อ.บ้านผือ l Ban Phue-Udonthani") and the Udon Thani group ("กินไรดี อุดรธานี"). The Ban Phue post included two November coupons: BANPHUE15 (100 off, free shipping over 15) and SONGFREE (free shipping for new customers over 60, 20 off). Both are valid until 11-30.

- **The bar is very low** : on the same day (11-06), #21 on Thailand's iOS Food & Drink free chart, KOI Thé, had only 30 ratings and 0 new ratings that day. FoodSpark only needed 2–5 new ratings a day to hold around #30. On Play, roughly 60–90 installs a day was enough to reach #22 (7 days, +271 in total). So "climbing to #30" roughly means a few dozen new downloads a day, not a breakout.

- Rating: 4.63 stars from 43 ratings (iTunes lookup). The reviews are from locals praising fast delivery and polite riders, and some ask for cash on delivery (09-20). Later versions have added cash on delivery.

### 3. Where users came from (growth tactics)

1. **Local Facebook community group posts (confirmed, main channel)** : it repeatedly posted from its page in county-level community groups, including "อ.บ้านผือ l Ban Phue-Udonthani" (08-02, 09-13, 11-02 and others), "น้ำโสม งานหาคน คนหางาน" (10-08) and "กินไรดี อุดรธานี" (11-02). The format is one image collecting local shops, plus a promo code and a download link. Engagement is thin (3–6 likes, at most 4 shares), but county groups are where locals check news every day.

2. **Delivery fee / new-user coupons (confirmed)** : SONGFREE and BANPHUE15. The launch ran coupon and prize-draw promotions (07-25 posts).

3. **LINE Mini App, no install, LINE login (confirmed)** : the website leads with "tap it in LINE, no download needed" (miniapp.line.me/2009717156-…). This means App Store ratings and ranks only reflect part of the user base. Users coming through LINE do not show up in store data.

4. **Facebook ads (leads only, unconfirmed)** : the website has Meta Pixel installed (JS contains fbq init and PageView), but this advertiser is not in our metaads library. That library only tracks a fixed list of products, so absence there does not mean no ads were run.

5. **AI tools cut costs (confirmed)** : the Android build was generated with Manus. The website pushes the AI assistant "น้องลูกมือ", which lets merchants open a shop by chatting in LINE, auto-builds a menu from a photo of the menu, and sends daily revenue summaries. This is about supply-side efficiency (recruiting merchants), not a customer acquisition channel.

6. **Not found** : TikTok (a TikHub search for "FoodSpark บ้านผือ" only returned local food creators, none related), X (x-radar 0 posts), media coverage (none), and ASO paid acquisition (no evidence). The only external listing is the project directory on thaidev.org, with 0 review.

### 4. Competitors

| Competitors | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from FoodSpark |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LINE MAN | iOS/Android | 2016 | Thailand's iOS F&D free chart, 1.91M ratings, covers 77 provinces | national platform; Ban Phue is only served at some hours (a user post in the FB group asks "does Ban Phue have LINE MAN?"); high commission, so small shops are reluctant to join |
| Grab | iOS/Android | 2013 | 1.45M ratings | also focused on big cities, thin coverage in county towns |
| Ant Delivery(ANT ARMY) | iOS/Android | 2020 | iOS 45k ratings, Play 1.09M installs, claims 150+ districts and ฿600M annual revenue | **The head of the same "county town + franchise" model** ; franchise fee from ฿199,000 plus 1% commission, while FoodSpark charges no franchise fee and takes a 40% share |
| BeeGo(237 SOLUTIONS GROUP) | iOS/Android + LINE LIFF | 2024 | the developer owns 20 apps (Cheetah, Red Lion, Boss Delivery, น้องเงาะ, คุณชาย…), each with only single-digit ratings | **Closest match** : white-label + customer app / merchant POS / rider app + LINE LIFF, priced at ฿29,000–60,000 per year. FoodSpark adds "the platform runs a showcase county first" and a revenue-share model. |
| SIAM IT NETWORKING(SiamIT) | iOS/Android | 2020 | owns 58 apps (Love Delivery+, พาข้าว, RK Food, and county brands) | pure outsourced white-label, one brand per county; FoodSpark uses one unified brand plus district partners |
| RUN Delivery / FoodDee(scsparksolution) | iOS/Android | 2020 | RUN 599 rating, FoodDee 1,101 rating; **RUN already has franchise outlets in Ban Phue** | the direct local rival in Ban Phue, entered several years earlier |
| JetX, SOOK, ToKo, E-GetS, FARMERS DIGITAL and others | iOS/Android | 2018–2025 | JetX 4,491 rating, Play 38k installs; SOOK Play 6,709 | province- and county-level local delivery apps, charting in the same range as FoodSpark |
| individual runners taking orders via Facebook groups and phone / LINE | Other | Has been around all along | Present in every county | FoodSpark's website names them as its real rivals and wants to pull them in as merchants or partners |

Takeaway: **county-town delivery plus district franchising / white-label is an established and crowded lane in Thailand** . Ant already operates in 150 counties, and SiamIT, 237 Solutions each have dozens of white-label apps. FoodSpark is a late, small entrant in this lane.

### 5. Why it could "climb" (really, why it got picked up)

- **The chart bar is low, and one local promo did the rest** : in the Thailand Food & Drink Top Free chart, ranks 20–50 need only a few dozen downloads a day; 11-02 community group posts plus a November shipping coupon pushed the app from outside 50 to around 28 (both stores at once).

- **Small towns really are short on delivery:** the big platforms only run partial hours there and take high commissions. This one uses local riders for all-day delivery at 8:00–20:00, and offers "buy from the market / famous city shops" errands. Reviews keep praising how fast it is.

- **Low cost, full stack, AI-powered** : a company with 20k baht in registered capital shipped a three-sided platform (customer / merchant / rider) plus POS plus a LINE Mini App in half a year. The Android side was built with Manus. AI customer service and AI store setup keep operations thin, so it can afford to charge only about ฿7 per order.

- **The business isn't the app, it's recruiting partners** : most of the website is a pitch for เจ้าถิ่น (district partners). It offers three options: a 40% revenue share or licence fee (partners keep 70%+), or white-label. It publishes a contract summary and says a district can open every 2–4 weeks. It also lists 24 districts as "in preparation" (Pattaya, Bangkok's Lat Krabang, Khlong Toei and others).

- **New story: FoodSpark Care** : adult children working in the city pay to have meals delivered daily to their parents in the village, with a photo of each meal sent to their LINE. Meals run from ฿499/7 to ฿4,990/90. This fits the common situation in northeast Thailand where children work away and elderly parents stay behind. It is one of the few paid-subscription ideas in this space, though it has no usage data yet.

### 6. Differentiation, and whether it's the reason it took off

- Its claimed differences: free onboarding, merchants keep the full price and the platform only adds a markup on the customer side; riders and district operators are local; LINE Mini App means no install; 9 local services (a buy-for-me market, bookings, split group orders, wallet); a built-in AI assistant; the Care subscription.

- Compared with BeeGo and SiamIT, only two things are truly different: (1) **no franchise fee, partners recruited through revenue share** (Ant asks ฿199,000, BeeGo ฿29k–60k per year); (2) **the paid use case of ordering meals for parents through Care** . LINE LIFF, POS, rider app and white-label are all things BeeGo also has.

- **These differences are not why it's charting** . The current numbers (about 30 orders a day, a few dozen downloads a day) are fully explained by natural county-town demand, community group promotion and the low bar for charting. The revenue-share partner model and Care are a story that hasn't been tested yet: all 24 districts are still "in preparation", and the city districts have already been paused once.

### 7. Visibility and copycats

- **Almost nobody knows about it** : no media coverage, 0 posts on X, no TikTok content about it, no disclosed revenue (and no TrustMRR listing). It has only been seen in a few Facebook community groups in Udon.

- Copycats: **none** . If anything, it is a late entrant to an existing model set by Ant, BeeGo and SiamIT.

### 8. What others can learn

- A cold-start sequence for county-level O2O: first build a showcase in one county where the founders are from, then use "no franchise fee + revenue share" to recruit district partners. Local people do the heavy work of signing up merchants and managing riders; the platform only supplies the system.

- LINE Mini App with LINE login (in Southeast Asia, the comparison would be Zalo or WhatsApp). Customers don't need to install an app, which greatly lowers the download barrier in county towns.

- The "children away, paying for parents" subscription design, plus the trust mechanism of a photo of every meal, could be moved to other regions where young people work away and elderly parents stay behind (Chinese counties, Vietnam, Indonesia).

- Using AI tools like Manus to cut the cost of building a three-sided app is affordable for a company with 20k baht.

### 9. Uncertain

- The merchant counts on the website (600 / 497 / Bang Phlap 196) don't match the "56 stores" in its own posts, and the user count of 4,353 can't be verified. The "7 days +122%" figure appears on the page as an animated render, which I did not directly see.

- Whether it runs Facebook ads (the website has a Pixel installed, but it doesn't appear in our ad library).

- Whether Non Sung, Ko Chan and Nam Song districts are run by partners or by headquarters, and whether any external partners have actually signed on.

- Whether the Care subscription has any paying users.

- Why the city districts were paused (capacity, subsidies, competition?), and how the "new approach" launched in November performed after returning to the city districts.
