Searching "小花钱包" on the App Store, the top result is a six-week-old online lending app
What it is A cash-loan shell app from a new Hainan company, listed on the China App Store in September. It uses the old name and marketing lines of the online lender "小花钱包", which has already left iOS.
Why it took off The real brand is gone from iOS. People searching "小花" or "小花钱包" land here, and a long title stuffed with lending keywords puts it at the top of the same batch of loan clones.
EHow you could follow it Don't. The only workable direction is the reverse: tools that help people spot black-market lenders and file complaints.

"小花借款" sits around #50 on the China finance free chart, rated 4.35 stars, and gained nearly 400 ratings in nine days, which looks like a fintech app gaining traction. Look closer and it has no product, only a name. The old lender "小花钱包" used the name "小花借款" on iOS 2016 years ago. When the real brand was pulled from the China iOS store, a new Hainan company took the name. Complaints describe no customer service, no way to cancel an application, and being asked to scan a QR code and transfer repayments to a private account. This piece lays out how it climbed the rankings. The bottom line first: don't follow this business.
A complaint filed one night in Oct 28
On the night of Oct 28, 2026 at 10:06, a user filed a complaint on the consumer protection platform. He had downloaded "小花借款 (developer: Hainan Muyan Technology Co., Ltd)" from the App Store, submitted a loan application, then wanted to cancel. "There's no customer service entry in the app and no button to cancel the order. I can't find any way to stop the disbursement." He made three demands: don't send money to my bank card; delete my account and erase the ID, bank card, and contacts I submitted; stop calling and texting me to collect.
Nine minutes later he added: "The platform requires downloading a third-party chat app and scanning a QR code to transfer repayments to a private account. This is a predatory debt trap that violates the rules." (Consumer complaint 102532070)
Around the same time (the post named 恒享花, which was listed in Oct 26), an anti-lending WeChat account published a victim's account titled "Don't download these online loan apps from the App Store", naming 小花借款, 恒享花, 芸豆花, and 臻有钱. The author described 芸豆花 from the same batch: searched "小额借款" on the App Store, filled in ID, bank card, and phone number, with no face verification and no tapping of "confirm loan". Half an hour later a private transfer of ¥1000 arrived in the card. The term was 10 days, with ¥1420 due at maturity. The in-app "contact customer service" told her to download a chat app that doesn't appear in the App Store. After she missed a payment, her contacts were exposed and collection calls reached her boss. The article ends with a WeChat ID for a "get you out" service, so discount the details. But the process matches the consumer complaint.
What it is
The store page says: "Borrow up to ¥200K, unsecured, no collateral", "comprehensive APR 7.2%~24%", "repay in up to 12 installments", "approval rate as high as 95.7%", "7 years of stable operation".
The developer, Hainan Muyan Technology Co., Ltd, has just this one App on their account. It launched in Sep 2026 23 , China store only, rated 17+, no in-app purchases. It's been updated three times since; the Nov 2 update note just says "optimized data statistics."
"7 years of stable operation" doesn't add up for a company whose first app launched this September. The wording and numbers nearly match the marketing of 小花钱包 word for word.
Whose name it borrowed
Xiaohua Wallet is an online lending brand that has been around for 2016 years, operated from Shanghai. Its iOS app used to be called "Xiaohua Loans - Purely Online Small Consumer Credit Lending Platform" and had 8,000+ ratings. Searching iTunes for China today with its old ID and bundle ID turns up nothing. The Android version is still on Tencent's app store and Xiaomi's store. The brand's record is also dirty: in May 2026, a contributed article on Tencent News said it had accumulated over 60k complaints on Heimao (Black Cat Complaints), and two consumer finance companies ended their lending partnerships with it.
The real brand left iOS, but people still search for it. In Nov 6, searching "小花钱包" on the China App Store, the first result was this 小花借款; searching "小花" also put it first. iPhone users who need money fast and remember the name "小花" land right on it. Whether Hainan Muyan has any connection to 小花钱包 is unknown. Both possibilities are open: 小花钱包 itself may have hired someone to rebuild a shell for iOS, or it is simply riding the name. The private-account collection points more toward the second (inference).
It's the best performer in a whole batch
Here are the loan apps launched this year using the same title template, side by side (ratings counts are 11-06, ranks are on the China finance free chart):
| App | Developer | Launched | Score | Finance free chart |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 芸豆花 | A new company in Haikou | 6-02 | 1,912 | 113–144 |
| 放心借 | Individual developer | 7-30 | 132 | 73–96 |
| 小花借款 | Hainan Muyan | 9-23 | 1,143 | about 52 |
| 乐享借 | A new company in Tianjin | 9-30 | 536 | 95–104 |
| 恒享花 | A new company in Hainan | 10-26 | 92 | 147–154 |
| 臻心贷 | A new company in Hainan | 11-01 | 40 | About 150 |
A few things they have in common: the titles all follow the same stuffed-keyword pattern, "X - small loans, cash installments, financial loans, borrow money app"; the descriptions all say "up to 200k, 7.2%~24% APR, funds in minutes"; and most developers are newly registered companies in Hainan with just one app under their name. The biggest giveaway is 臻心贷 on Nov 1, whose package name contains "yundouhua", meaning "芸豆花". At least these two packages come from the same group, or the same outsourced publishing service. The playbook is to register a new developer account and ship a new package, and when one gets pulled, the next one is already queued.
Same template, but 小花借款 ranks noticeably higher than the others. The product shows no difference. The only edge is the name, which carries search volume.
The numbers look like they're climbing
| Date | Cumulative ratings | Added that day |
|---|---|---|
| 10-28 | 779 | — |
| 11-01 | 932 | 50 |
| 11-04 | 1,056 | 60 |
| 11-06 | 1,143 | 56 |
App Store China store, 10-28 to 11-06. 11-06 later the store page showed 1,155 entries.
It gained 364 ratings in over nine days, up 47%. That's roughly in line with legitimate platforms at the same rank: 融360 gained 337 more over the same period, and 拍拍贷 gained 784. So the curve shows downloads rising, but nothing unusual. The 4.35-star rating doesn't match the experience in the complaints. The victim's article says apps like this "fake legitimacy with bought good reviews", but there is no direct evidence for that.
Where users come from and where the money comes from
Users come from App Store search, and the evidence points to three layers:
- Keyword-stuffed titles: "small loans, cash loans, short-term loans, installments, financial lending, borrowing app" are all packed into the title, so it turns up for every one of those searches.
- Riding the name: searching "小花" or "小花钱包" ranks it first, as noted above.
- "If Apple approved it, it's legit": the victim's words were "I always thought the App Store review was strict, so anything you can download there is legitimate, far more trustworthy than web pop-ups or SMS links." For these apps, the App Store itself is the credibility endorsement.
Whether they buy Apple Search Ads or feed ads can't be seen from outside.
The money isn't collected inside the app. There are no in-app purchases and it doesn't chart on Top Grossing. Disbursement is a private transfer, and repayment is a QR-code transfer to a private account, with negotiation moved to another chat app. Revenue most likely comes from upfront fee deductions and short-term high-interest loans. ¥1000 due as ¥1420 in ten days works out to an APR above 1,500%. Another possibility is selling the IDs, bank cards, and contacts collected. These are all inferences from the complaints. There are no public figures on how many loans were issued or how big the business got.
If it were you
Bottom line: don't touch it. It ranks because of unlicensed lending, borrowed brand names, private-account repayments and violent debt collection. Each of those is illegal, not a gray tactic.
Who it's for: nobody. If you hold a lending license, you don't need to copy it. If you don't, this is criminal risk, and removal is only a matter of time.
Only two things are worth taking from it: first, in the China iOS finance category, names left behind when an old brand exits iOS get grabbed fast, and the search volume stays. Second, keyword-stuffed long titles still work in this category today. Both apply to any category, so you don't need this one to learn them.
If you really want to build something, flip the direction: tools that help people spot illegal online lenders and teach them how to file complaints. The need is real, and new complaints show up daily on consumer protection platforms and Heimao (Black Cat) Complaints. Be aware, though, that this niche is full of fee-charging middlemen who promise to "get you out," and they are gray too. If you go this way, think hard about how to earn people's trust.
What would mean we got it wrong: if it turns out Hainan Muyan is the operator of Xiaohua Wallet itself, registered as the publisher, and loans are issued through a licensed institution with clear contracts and disclosed rates, then it's just an old online lender in a new shell. The issue would shift from "illegal lending" to "questionable compliance." Even then, it's still not worth following.

- Confirmed App Store search + long keyword-stuffed title: the title is packed with "small loan, cash borrowing, short-term loan, installment finance, lending app" and similar terms. A victim said they found it by searching "small loan" on the App Store (yeyulingfeng.com/333839.html).
- Inferred Borrowing the old brand name "Xiaohua Loan / Xiaohua Wallet": Xiaohua Wallet's iOS name for 2016 years was "Xiaohua Loan" (softwar.io id1159663252), and iOS China lookup now returns nothing. The Xiaohua Loan blurb copies Xiaohua Wallet's pitch and still says "7 years of stable operation."
- Inferred High ratings create an air of legitimacy (possibly fake or prompted reviews): 4.35 stars doesn't match the experience described in complaints. A victim's article says apps like this "fake legitimacy with fake good reviews."
- Confirmed Trading on the belief that "App Store review means legitimate": a victim's words: "I always thought the App Store review was strict... that everything there was legitimate."
Why Xiaohua Loan (iOS 6789410209) ranks
Short answer: this isn't a product that ranks on its own merits. It's a cash-loan shell app, China store only, that borrows the old name of the online lender Xiaohua Wallet. It's the best performer in a family of same-template, single-app developer lending clones. Its traffic comes from App Store search terms like "Xiaohua / loan / small loan." The real brand, Xiaohua Wallet, is no longer findable on the China iOS store, so this app catches that search traffic. Users online have reported forced disbursement, no customer service, being pushed to third-party chat apps, and being told to transfer repayments by QR code to private accounts. These are classic markers of illegal online lending and predatory debt. Not recommended to copy, and not a direction worth pursuing.
Storefronts checked: this app only appears in cn (the whole storefront was scanned; countries_on_charts is 1 every day), so only cn was reviewed.
1. Basic data (source: appstore database app_day / app_snapshot, iTunes lookup 2026-11-06)
| items | value |
|---|---|
| Developer | Hainan Muyan Technology Co., Ltd. The developer account has only these 1 apps (artistId 6789410211). |
| bundle | com.muyan.xiaohua |
| Launched | 2026-09-23, China store only; rating 17+; no in-app purchases |
| Version | 1.3.0 (9-30) → 1.3.1 (10-30) → 1.3.2 (11-02, update note "optimized data statistics") |
| Rating | 4.35 stars, 1143 ratings (11-06); at 10-28 it had 779 ratings; over 9 days +364 (+47%); last 7 days +291, 25–60 new per day |
| Chart position | Ranked 46–57 in the China finance free chart, holding around 50. It never charted on the overall or Top Grossing lists (it has no in-app purchases, so it couldn't have). |
Rating growth is in line with legitimate platforms at similar ranks, not out of line (appstore database, 10-28 to 11-06):
| App | Average finance free chart rank | New ratings over 9 days |
|---|---|---|
| 360 Jietiao | 31 | +181 |
| Rong360 | 29 | +337 |
| 小花借款 | 52 | +364 |
| PPDai | 61 | +784 |
| Haofenqi | 86 | +566 |
So "ratings are accelerating" mainly means downloads are rising. As covered below, a victim claimed apps like this "fake legitimacy with fake good reviews," but that claim is unverified.
2. Competitors: who else is in the same space
2.1 Licensed / lending-partner platforms (iOS China finance chart, appstore database)
- Anyidi (Mashang Consumer Finance, 2016): about 20 in the finance free chart, 2.31M ratings
- Fenqile (2014): about 32, 700k ratings
- Qifu Jietiao / 360 Jietiao (2016 / 2022): 2.76M / 54k ratings
- PPDai (2015): about 60, 150k ratings
- Haofenqi (2018): about 86, 150k ratings
- Rong360 (2015): about 29, 99k ratings
- JD Finance, Youqianhua (Duxiaoman), China Post Wallet, Yixianghua, MYbank, WeBank, and others.
2.2 The company whose name it borrowed: Xiaohua Wallet
- Since 2016 years ago it has been on iOS. Its original iOS name was exactly "Xiaohua Loan - Pure online small credit lending platform" (id1159663252, developer "Xiaohua Internet Financial Services (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.", 8304 ratings; softwar.io/app/app-1159663252).
- A current iTunes lookup for id1159663252 and bundle com.xhqb.app returns nothing in the China store, and our full catalog has no entry for it in any storefront. In other words, the real Xiaohua Wallet is no longer on the China iOS store. The Android version (com.xhqb.app, Tencent MyApp / Xiaomi store) is still available.
- Xiaohua Wallet has plenty of problems of its own: 2026-05 a Tencent News author piece says it has racked up over 60k complaints on Black Cat Complaints, and Harbin Bank Consumer Finance and CITIC Consumer Finance have both terminated their loan-facilitation partnerships with the operating entity, Xiaohua (Shanghai) (news.qq.com/rain/a/20260506A06X8600).
- The Xiaohua Loan blurb nearly copies Xiaohua Wallet's pitch: "up to 200k, 7.2%–24% annual rate, up to 12 periods, revolving credit line," and it also says "7 years of stable operation." A Hainan company that only published its first app 2026-09 years ago writing that line can only be read as impersonating an older brand's track record.
2.3 Same batch of clones (2026 new that year, single-app developers, same title and blurb template)
| App | Developer | Launched | Ratings (11-06) | Finance free chart | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 芸豆花 | Haikou Lingyue Technology | 2026-06-02 | 1912 | ~113–144 | bundle com.wolai.loan |
| 放心借 | Indie dev "乾坤 汪" | 2026-07-30 | 132 | ~73–96 | |
| 小花借款 | Hainan Muyan Technology | 2026-09-23 | 1143 | ~52 | Ranked best in this batch |
| 乐享借 | Tianjin Jinkai Shang Technology | 2026-09-30 | 536 | ~95–104 | |
| 恒享花 | Hainan Yuebu Technology | 2026-10-26 | 92 | ~147–154 | bundle com.yuebu.jinmanman |
| 臻心贷 | Hainan Lingyu Network | 2026-11-01 | 40 | ~150 | bundle com.lingyu.yundouhua, i.e. "芸豆花" (Yundouhua) |
What they share: titles stuffed with keywords in the "X - loans, micro-loans, cash installments, finance, borrow money app" style; descriptions all follow the same script: "up to 200k / 7.2%~24% APR / funds in 3 minutes"; developers are mostly new companies in Hainan, each with just one app on their name. The bundle of 臻心贷 directly reuses "yundouhua" (芸豆花), which suggests at least these two packages come from the same team or the same outsourced listing service. This is a matrix of shell apps: keep swapping developer accounts and re-uploading packages.
3. Where users come from
- App Store search + ASO keyword stuffing (confirmed): titles are packed with "small loans / cash loans / short-term borrowing / installments / financial loans / borrowing apps". One victim's account: "I searched 'small loan' in the App Store and a bunch of apps came up that looked legit: 恒享花, 臻有钱, 芸豆花, 小花借款, rated 4.1 stars" (yeyulingfeng.com/333839.html).
- Riding an old brand's name (highly likely, but whether it's related to Xiaohua Wallet is unverified): "小花借款" was a name Xiaohua Wallet used on iOS 2016 years ago, and Xiaohua Wallet can no longer be found in the China App Store. iPhone users searching "小花", "小花借款" or "小花钱包" likely land here. It ranks best in this batch, most plausibly because the name carries search volume on its own.
- Ratings and reviews (only suspicious): the 4.35-star rating doesn't match the complaints. A victim's article says such apps "use fake reviews and disguise themselves as legitimate online lenders to get past checks". No direct evidence.
- Trading on the trust that "App Store review = legit" (confirmed; a psychological channel). A victim's words: "I always thought the App Store review was strict, so every app you can download there must be legitimate."
- Ad spend: no evidence found of Apple Search Ads or feed ads (the ad library only tracks listed products, so not finding ads doesn't mean there were none).
4. Where the money comes back from (inferred from complaints)
- Consumer-protection complaint 102532070 (2026-10-28): a user downloaded "小花借款 (developer: Hainan Muyan Technology Co., L*)" from the App Store, submitted an application, then couldn't find a customer service entry or any button to cancel the order; the platform told him to "download a third-party chat app and scan a private account QR code to repay", which the user himself labeled "illegal loan-shark tactics" (xfb365.com/tousu/102532070).
- Same batch, 芸豆花: the victim described filling in ID, bank card and phone number, with no face verification and no confirmation step; half an hour later 1000 yuan arrived via private transfer; loan term 10 days, repayment due 1420 yuan; customer service asked them to download "密信", which App Store search can't find; after going overdue, contacts were harvested and threatened with photo edits (yeyulingfeng.com/333839.html, which lists 小花借款 in the same category).
- Inference: the app is just an iOS storefront for collecting customers. Money moves and gets collected outside the app (private account transfers), so there are no in-app purchases and it never reaches the grossing charts. Revenue likely comes from high upfront fees ("砍头息") or high short-term interest after forced disbursement, or from selling the harvested identity data as leads. These are inferences, unverified.
5. Visibility
- No media coverage, no discussion on X, and no public revenue figures. What you can find online are auto-generated chart pages like StoreIntel and Similarweb, some download sites, and victim complaints and anti-fraud WeChat articles.
- The "copycats" are the same operators: template sock-puppet apps keep launching new packages (恒享花 10-26, 臻心贷 11-01).
6. Differentiation
Nothing differentiates the product; it runs the same template as the rest of the batch. The only "difference" is the name: it claims the old name of a once-known online lender whose brand has left iOS. That's why it ranks best in this batch.
7. What to borrow
- Very little is worth copying on the positive side. At the industry level: in China App Store finance search traffic, "names left behind after old brands exit iOS" get taken by sock puppets quickly, and keyword-stuffed long titles still work.
- Risk warning: consumer lending requires a lending license, and this batch is suspected of unlicensed lending, private-account collection and abusive debt collection. It's illegal, and not an opportunity to pursue. If you want to build something adjacent, the reverse direction is what you can do: black-market loan identification and complaint-and-rights tools.
8. Still unclear
- Whether Hainan Muyan has any connection to Xiaohua Wallet (Xiaohua Shanghai): did Xiaohua Wallet itself hire a publishing service to re-list on iOS, or is it purely name-borrowing? Copied descriptions plus "7 years of operation" fit both, but the private-account repayment in the complaints looks more like a name-borrowing black loan.
- Whether the ratings are fake, and whether Apple Search Ads is being bought.
- Absolute download numbers and actual lending volume.
- This app will probably be pulled after complaints; sock-puppet apps in this batch typically live only a few months.
