A influencer marketing team sells an AI job-search app at ₹299 in India: Meta ads went live and it charted the next day

What it is An AI job-search app built only for India's white-collar workers: chat to find roles, tailor your resume to each one, apply on your behalf, and push new jobs to WhatsApp. Weekly subscriptions start at ₹99, monthly at ₹299.

Why it took off Two founders who ran an influencer marketing platform launched Meta install ads in Oct 25, using Hinglish UGC-style Reels, rotating new creatives every few days, and a hard paywall after a few free uses. It shot up a low-bar business chart in India.

BHow you could follow Move to countries like Indonesia, the Philippines, or Nigeria, where WhatsApp is ubiquitous and job boards are fragmented. Copy the mix: local jobs + resume tailoring + auto-apply + WhatsApp alerts + a weekly subscription in local currency, advertised with local-language UGC short videos on Meta install ads.

Grade B: the playbook is clear, few people know about it, and nobody has carried it to other countries yet. But the feature space is crowded, big players can add the same features anytime, and huntt has not yet proven it can pay back its ad spend. Only people who already know how to run paid ads should follow it. Few people know about it yet

In 2026 Oct 25, a Facebook page called "Huntt" with no ad history started running Instagram Reels ads. One was titled "3 rejections. Then huntt 🙌🏼". The next day, this AI job app, three months old with only about twenty ratings, entered the top 100 of India's App Store Business free chart for the first time. Twelve days later it reached #42 free and #26 grossing in Business. The product itself is not new. What is new is that its builders know how to run ads. Below: what it is, how it took off, where the money comes from, and whether the playbook can travel.

What it is

huntt is a job-search app for India's white-collar workers. The store page is blunt: tell it your role, experience, and city, and it picks matches from "3 lakh+" (300k+) open roles in India. It rewrites your resume for each job to get past ATS filters, generates interview questions based on your background, and pushes new jobs straight to WhatsApp. The 10-30 update added "Auto Apply on more job sites", meaning it applies for you. The homepage shows one number: "14,200+ applications sent this week" (huntt.ai, 11-06). That counts auto-applications, not users.

It offers a few free uses, then sells subscriptions. The App Store India listing shows three in-app purchases: a weekly subscription at ₹99, a weekly subscription at ₹149, and a monthly subscription at ₹299 (about $3.4,11-06).

It is built by ZeroShot Tech, a small Mumbai company with 2 to 10 people on LinkedIn, founded in 2026. No funding has been found. Co-founders Rupansh Goyal (IIT Bombay) and Chandan Routray (IIT Kharagpur) previously ran OPA, a managed influencer marketing platform, which Indian marketing group Wondrlab acquired in September 2024 (ET BrandEquity, 2024-09-19). That history is the key to understanding huntt.

Almost nothing for the first three months, then several-fold growth in one week

huntt launched on iOS in Jul 28. By Oct 28, the India store had only 22 ratings. Daily figures after that:

In the last 7 days it picked up 71 new ratings, which AppInsider says is "more than 11× the previous two weeks." The store page 11-06 shows 118 ratings at 4.7 stars, but only 6 of them have written reviews. That suggests most ratings come from the in-app rating prompt and rise along with new installs.

Google Play shows "10K+", about 27k installs in total (11-06). It first appeared on India's Business free chart that day, at #175.

Grossing #26 sounds good, but the India Business grossing chart has a low bar. Nearby are tools like PDF scanners, invoice makers, and digital business cards. Among job apps, only iimjobs (#31) and Tal Boss (#34) rank above it (App Store India, 11-06). #26 probably means dozens to hundreds of small subscriptions a day (inference, amounts not verified).

Where users come from: Meta ads, nothing else

Searching the Meta Ad Library for the "Huntt" page (11-06) shows 12 active ads and only these 12 ads in its history. The 12 ads are actually 6 videos, each paired with an iOS landing page and an Android landing page, all with an "Install now" button, running on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.

The launch cadence is steady: 10-25 to 10-26 three ads ("Finally an AI tool that works 🥹", "3 rejections. Then huntt 🙌🏼", "time to use huntt ai 🧐"), 10-31 two ads ("🔥 app - huntt AI⚡️", "Be first to apply with huntt AI⚡️"), and 11-03 one ("No fuss. Just huntt AI⚡️"). A new batch of creatives is added every three to five days.

These ads are the Reels posted on its Instagram account @huntthq, with the same titles word for word: Hinglish (Hindi mixed with English), memes, and short stories of job-search frustration. They look like creator content, not brand ads. The "No fuss" ad was also shared on the founder's Facebook, where it got 42k views in 3 days and 686 reactions but only a few comments, typical of paid traffic. The comments include blunt ones too: "Mat karna bhai subscribe karne ke liye bolta hai" (come on, bro, it asks you to subscribe right away).

Before running ads, @huntthq had been posting Reels since March 2026 (before the app was live), and had tried comment-to-DM giveaways like "comment, get an AI job toolkit", but each post got only a few likes. Organic content brought no volume. Paid spend did.

No other channels turned up. Google's Ads Transparency Center shows no Google or YouTube ads for the domain or company name. No one discusses it on X, Reddit, or Product Hunt, and no media has covered it. TikTok is banned in India, so it was not considered.

So the story is simple: a pair of founders who make a living from creator content and paid ads applied their best skills to their own app.

Where the money comes from, and what users are buying

Job hunting for India's white-collar workers is grinding and fragmented: Naukri, LinkedIn, and each company's site all need separate applications. huntt sells "we apply for you" and a visible number ("14,200+ this week"), not the abstract promise of "AI matching." For someone job hunting, ₹99 a week is almost nothing next to landing a job.

The paywall comes early and it is hard. In September, a one-star review was titled "Very Disappointing & Not Worth ₹299": "Paid for Pro and still only got three or four searches... can't even set the city or other filters I want." The developer replied that the paid plan offers unlimited searches and asked the user to contact support (App Store India, 9-03 / 9-17). Whether the product improved after that complaint cannot be verified from outside. Reaching grossing #26 with fewer than 120 ratings is exactly what "a few free uses, then pay" achieves.

Whether it pays back is unclear. Ads have run for only 12 days, and there is no public figure for whether ₹99 to ₹299 subscriptions cover India's Meta install costs. Job apps also have a natural problem: people leave once they find work. Retention depends on WhatsApp pushes, and no retention data is public.

Who it's competing with

"AI job matching + resume tailoring + auto-apply" is already crowded:

(Scale based on public App Store / Google Play figures, 11-06)

No single feature of huntt is unique. Its difference is the combination: white-collar jobs in India only, job-hunting through chat on mobile, small rupee subscriptions, WhatsApp alerts, and cross-site auto-apply. That combination lets ad spend pay back, but the ads are what pushed it up the charts. No one is known to be copying it yet.

If it were you

B. Worth trying, but only if you already run paid ads. huntt shows that in a low-ticket country with a sharp pain point, an AI job app with ordinary features can chart the day after launch if it pairs local-language UGC with a hard paywall. The playbook has not been carried to other countries, and few people know about it. The weaknesses are clear too: the feature space is crowded, big players (Naukri, LinkedIn) can add the same features anytime, and huntt has not yet proven it pays back its ad spend.

Who it suits: small teams that run Meta performance ads and can make short-form video creatives, ideally with a native speaker of the target market writing copy. You need budget to burn a month or two on ads.

Who it doesn't suit: people hoping to grow this kind of product through SEO, Product Hunt, or "we have more features." huntt's organic traffic in its first three months was close to zero. It also doesn't suit anyone wanting to build a head-on rival in India, where Naukri NEO is already present and huntt is spending on ads itself.

How to do it: change the country. Pick a market with high WhatsApp penetration, fragmented job boards, and fierce white-collar competition, such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Nigeria, Vietnam, or Brazil (inference, local competitors not checked one by one). Copy the mix: aggregate local job-board listings, tailor resumes per job, auto-apply where possible, push new jobs to WhatsApp. Offer 3 to 5 free uses, then sell a weekly subscription in local currency priced against a local food delivery order.

How to acquire users: copy huntt's Meta install-ad rhythm. Film short local-language stories of job rejection, "rejected three times, then...", that look like ordinary people's videos, not brand spots. Make an iOS and an Android landing page for each creative. Rotate new creatives every three to five days. Before launch, post Reels on Instagram for a few months, not for organic reach but to build a creative library and test which hooks land. Aim for the bestseller chart in a low-bar category (business or productivity). The chart position is extra exposure in itself.

When to move: there is no hard deadline, but sooner is better. huntt has little attention now. Once its revenue is published or covered by media, other teams will think about changing countries too. Roughly, plan on six months.

Signs you got it wrong: ① after a month or two huntt stops advertising and its chart rank drops below #100, which would mean ₹99 to ₹299 subscriptions can't carry Meta install costs, and this playbook doesn't work in low-ticket countries; ② after two weeks of testing in your chosen country, subscription revenue is under a third of ad spend. Don't add money. Change creatives or change countries; ③ Naukri or LinkedIn start blocking auto-apply, or they make auto-apply a free feature themselves, and the "we apply for you" selling point disappears.

Where users come from
  • Confirmed Meta (Instagram/Facebook/Messenger) install ads: Meta Ad Library shows Page "Huntt" (1140302602494770) running 12 ads, and only 12 in total ever: 6 video creatives × iOS/Android landing pages, CTA "Install now", starting 10-25; the second day (10-26) it entered India's Business Top Free top 100
  • Confirmed Instagram organic Reels / comment-to-get-resource: @huntthq has posted Reels since 2026-03 (a few likes early on), including a "Comment AI for the Toolkit doc" hook; the ad creatives are these Reels
  • Confirmed Founder resources (influencer marketing background): the founders previously co-ran influencer marketing platform OPA, which was acquired by Wondrlab in 2024-09 (ET BrandEquity); the creative style and posting rhythm reflect this
  • Inferred Creator partnerships: only scattered "Comment Job" Reels from job-niche creators mentioning huntt.ai; can't confirm they were paid
  • Inferred Google / YouTube ads: Google Ads Transparency Center shows nothing for the huntt.ai domain or for huntt / ZeroShot advertisers

One line

huntt is an Indian AI job search app. You search 300k+ open jobs by chatting, get your resume rewritten per role, use "Auto Apply" to submit applications automatically, get new listings pushed to WhatsApp, and pay ₹299 for Pro. It launched on 2026-07-28 and was nearly silent for its first three months (only 10-28 ratings by 22). It started Meta (Instagram/Facebook) install ads in Oct 25, and the next day it entered India's Business Top Free top 100. Since then ratings, free chart and grossing chart have all climbed together. In short, this is an early-stage paid acquisition push, with UGC-style Reels as creative, backed by two founders who ran an influencer marketing platform. There's no press coverage yet and no discussion on X.

Bottom line: "AI finds jobs + rewrites resumes + auto-applies" is crowded, and India already has Naukri's NEO-style big-company features. huntt has no exclusive feature. Its differences are threefold: a chat entry point in a mobile app; a small rupee-priced subscription aimed only at Indian white-collar workers; and WhatsApp as the alert channel.

3. Growth tactics: where users come from

3.1 Meta install ads: confirmed, the main driver of this surge

Querying the Meta Ad Library for Page "Huntt" (page_id 1140302602494770,2026-11-06, live):

  • 12 ads running, 12 ever, so this Page had never run ads before. The 12 ads are 6 video creatives, each paired with an iOS (apps.apple.com/in/app/…id6790748667) and an Android (play.google.com…ai.huntt.app) landing page. CTA is "Install now", placed across Facebook / Instagram / Messenger.
  • Start dates (India time): 10-25 / 10-26 three ads: "Finally an AI tool that works 🥹", "3 rejections. Then huntt 🙌🏼", "time to use huntt ai 🧐"; 10-31 two: "🔥 app - huntt AI⚡️", "Be first to apply with huntt AI⚡️"; 11-03 one: "No fuss. Just huntt AI⚡️". A new batch was added roughly every 3–5 days.
  • The timing matches: on the second day (10-26) AppInsider logged it entering the top 100 of India's Business Top Free chart; daily rating gains then went from single digits to 15–22.
  • The creatives are @huntthq's Instagram Reels repurposed for ads (the ad copy matches the Reel titles word for word), also cross-posted to founder Rupansh Goyal's Facebook. The "No fuss" ad has 42k views and 686 reactions over 3 days on Facebook but only a handful of comments, a typical sign of bought traffic. The comments include complaints about the paywall, like "Mat karna bhai subscribe karne ke liye bolta hai" (don't, bro, it keeps telling you to subscribe).
  • Creative style: Hinglish with memes and short videos. The "3 rejections, then I used huntt" job-pain storytelling reads like creator content, not a brand ad.

3.2 Instagram organic content / comment-to-get-resource: yes, but small volume

  • @huntthq has been posting Reels since at least 2026-03 (back when the app wasn't live yet; e.g. 2026-03-04 "Job search shouldn't be a full time job" got only 4 likes), running giveaway-style plays like "Like + Comment AI to get the AI Job Toolkit doc". Organic reach was tiny. Real volume only came after they started running ads.
  • Some Indian job and career creator Reels with "Comment Job and I'll DM you the link" showed up in search. Only a few mentioned huntt.ai. Whether any were paid partnerships is unverified.

3.3 founder's edge: came from influencer marketing

  • CEO Rupansh Goyal (IIT Bombay) and Chandan Routray (IIT Kharagpur) previously co-founded OPA, a managed influencer marketing platform, 2024-09 acquired by marketing group Wondrlab (ET BrandEquity 2024-09-19). They already made their living from creator content and paid acquisition, so they could take UGC-style creative and run it straight as performance ads, and they hit volume in the first month.
  • The company is ZeroShot Tech Pvt Ltd (Andheri West, Mumbai). LinkedIn shows 2–10 employees, founded in 2026. No funding coverage found.

Channels not found: 3.4

  • Google Ads Transparency Center: searching by domain huntt.ai returned nothing, and searching advertiser names "huntt" and "ZeroShot Tech" matched nothing (2026-11-06). No Google / YouTube / UAC campaigns found. Part of the Play volume may come from Meta ads that land on the Android store page.
  • Our metaads / googleads / tiktokads libraries don't cover it (not on the list). TikTok is banned in India, so not applicable.
  • X (x-radar, last 90 days), Reddit, HN, Product Hunt, and media: no discussion found.
  • ASO: title "AI Job Search" leans on generic terms and picks up some search traffic, but the evidence isn't strong enough to call it a main source.

4. Why people pay and stay

  • Indian white-collar job hunting is grinding and fragmented: Naukri, LinkedIn, and company career pages all need separate applications. huntt sells "we apply for you"; the site leads with "14,200+ applications sent this week", and the LinkedIn bio reads "works 24/7 … pitch you to recruiters". For someone job hunting, ₹299 (about $3.5) is almost nothing next to landing a job.
  • The paywall went up early. A September review said they paid ₹299 for Pro but still only got 3–4 searches; the official reply said the paid tier has no limit. Ad comments also complain about being pushed to subscribe right away. So it's a hard paywall: cap free uses, then steer people to subscribe, which is how it reached the Top Grossing #26 chart with a rating below 120.
  • Retention: job apps have a natural lifecycle. People leave once they're hired. WhatsApp reminders are the lever for pulling people back. No retention data yet.

5. Differentiation, and whether that's why it took off

  • Product differentiation is thin. AI resume help, auto-apply, and job matching already exist: Jobright and Simplify in the US, JobHunt globally, Naukri NEO in India. huntt's edge is the localized combination: India white-collar only, chat entry, small rupee subscriptions, WhatsApp reminders, and cross-site auto-apply.
  • What actually pushed it up wasn't differentiation, it was a founder who knows paid acquisition. In late October they started Meta install campaigns with native UGC-style Hinglish Reels, swapping new batches every few days. Those creatives hit a category with inelastic demand and a hard paywall, and the Indian Business Top Grossing chart is low-barrier, so they ranked fast.
  • Verdict: this is a distribution play driven by resources (a team that has run influencer marketing). The product is decent but not unique. It has only been spending for 12 days, so whether it pays back (₹299 subscriptions vs. Indian Meta install costs) can't be told yet.

6. Visibility and copycats

  • Barely known: no media coverage, no discussion on X or Reddit, no public revenue (not on TrustMRR or similar), and the Meta Page has only 9 likes.
  • Copycats: none found copying it directly. But there are many similar "AI applies for you" products in India (Naukri NEO, apna AI, plus assorted job-tool creators), so the niche itself is crowded.

7. What to borrow

  1. Low-ARPU markets can still support subscriptions: cap free searches (3–4 uses), then sell a cheap periodic plan (₹299). On low-barrier category charts, visible rankings come quickly.
  2. For performance creatives, use local-language UGC-style Reels: pain-point storytelling ("rejected 3 times"), colloquial jokes, and fresh batches every 3–5 days, with the same creative landing on both iOS and Android.
  3. Use the messaging app locals already live in (WhatsApp) for reminders and win-backs. Open rates beat app push. This could transfer to Indonesia, the Philippines, Nigeria, or Brazil, where WhatsApp is ubiquitous and local job sites are fragmented.
  4. Sell visible outcomes like "done-for-you applying" and weekly application counts (14,200 this week), not abstract "AI matching".

8. Still unclear

  • Actual revenue and unit economics: unknown. We don't know the gross behind Top Grossing #26, the Meta install cost, or whether it pays back.
  • Creator partnerships: whether they paid creators to post content (as opposed to their own ads) is unverified.
  • How much Google Play volume comes from ads vs. store search is unclear (we had no Play observation for it before 11-06).
  • Compliance and stability of auto-apply on job sites (risk of Naukri / LinkedIn bans) is unclear. It's a long-term risk for this type of product.
  • No retention or renewal data. Whether the quota complaints in reviews have been fixed is also unverified.
