AIApply: AI Job Search & Apply · AiApply

A job app with a 3.3 rating charted on the business bestseller lists in 40+ countries. Behind it: a web company earning millions a year

What it is An AI job-search agent app: upload your resume, and it picks jobs, writes cover letters and applies for you. Credit packs sell for 49 to 199 USD per application bundle. It's the mobile version of the web product AIApply.co.

为什么火了 母公司网页端早有百万用户,上线后直接喊老用户来下载;它在 40 个国家投的 Meta、Google 广告和 App 上榜的国家几乎重合;一单 49 美元,小国商务畅销榜每天几单就能进前 20。

CHow you could approach it Don't build "AI auto-apply" from scratch. This space is already crowded. If you have a web product, copy its playbook: run web ads first, then launch the app to catch existing users. If you're building a product, go after the gap users complain about: apply only to jobs they actually want, and only charge once they get an offer.

Grade C: Its iPhone traction comes from the parent's existing users and ad budget, which followers won't have. Both web and mobile are already crowded, and the parent company's revenue story has been widely covered. You can learn the web-to-app traffic playbook, the math behind high-ticket chart climbing, and the "pay only on success" gap, but copying the whole thing isn't worth it. AIApply went live on iPhone in Aug 24. It picks jobs from your resume and auto-submits applications, with the cheapest plan at 49 USD. By Nov 6, it had only 206 ratings worldwide, averaging 3.3 stars in the US store, yet it was charting on business bestseller lists in 35 to 47 countries every day. It's not a new app starting from zero: the London-based web version, AIApply.co, had been growing for 2023 years and claims over 1M users. This app is its mobile version. Existing web users, ongoing Meta and Google ads, and high-ticket pricing pushed it up the charts. Copying it won't work, but you can learn its unit economics and what it got wrong.

A US user paid 49 USD, applied to 100 jobs, and got 1 interviews.

Oct 15, a two-star US review: "Tried it. 49 USD, 100 resumes sent, only 1 interviews. I'm grateful, but the AI didn't fully follow my criteria. I gave it one job title, and it applied based on my past work experience. I was using it to switch careers."

Two weeks later, Nov 1, another one: "AI Apply applied to over 100 jobs for me with no results. I applied to 25 myself, got 3 interviews, 1 direct referrals, and found a part-time job that might turn full-time. All through my own network."

Some people are happy too. A five-star UK review from Sep 25: "I found AI Apply through an Instagram ad, didn't really believe it, but within a week I had interviews, and one turned into an offer." That line also shows where its users come from.

What it actually is

You upload your resume, set your target roles and locations, and it scrapes jobs from various job boards, gives each one a match score, then fills out forms, writes cover letters and submits for you. The first line of the store page reads "Find jobs that fit. Let AIApply handle the applications." Below it: "Download free, auto-apply requires a paid subscription."

Pricing is credit packs tied to applications, with the outcome framed around "getting interviews" (US App Store in-app purchase list, 11-06):

TierPricing
Auto-Apply Starter (about 100 applications)$49
Pro / Pro+$99 / $199
Weekly subscription Starter / Pro$14.99 / $19.99
Add-on: Interview Buddy$19
Add-ons: resume rewriting, AI cover letters$12 each

The developer, AiApply Ltd, only has this one app. In Nov 5 they shipped version 1.7.0, with release notes covering one change: push notifications for interview invitations and recruiter replies. It supports 5 languages: English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.

206 ratings, how does it chart in 40+ countries?

First, how big is it? Global ratings: Oct 28 is 163, Nov 6 is 206, roughly 5 more a day; 99 in the US store. Best ranks: #19 in Business Top Grossing in New Zealand, #28 in Slovakia, #33 in Colombia, #75 in Canada, #84 in the UK, #128 in the US, and it never reached the overall chart in any country (App Store charts by country, 11-06).

The entry bar for small countries' business bestseller lists is low. At 49 USD a sale, a few sales a day can get you into the top 20 (estimated). So "charting in 40+ countries" sounds impressive, but translated into sales volume it's likely only dozens of sales a day or fewer (inferred). For comparison: Sprout has about 51k ratings across 140 countries combined, 72k in the US; Sorce has about 40k ratings, and added 7 in the US in the last 1061 days. On iPhone, AIApply is the late, small player.

Where users come from

First, moving web users over. Its official Instagram posted a reel: "iPhone users, heads up: AIApply is now on the App Store. If you've been using it on your computer, you can now open it on your phone." The 1.7.0 push notifications are also meant to get these users to receive interview alerts on their phones and stick around.

Second, ads that keep running, but point to the web. In Nov 6, its Facebook page "AI Apply" (46k likes) was running 359 ads, with close to 4000 over its history, across FB, IG, Messenger and Threads. In the US and UK, searching "resume builder" puts it first among ads. Over 60% are video, with fun copy like "Comment APPLY and I'll DM you the link" and a parent-voice "I stopped applying to jobs for my son." On Google, in the last 7 days it ran 123 display ads across 40 countries, and it has been running them since August 2025. Both sets of landing pages go to the aiapply.co website, not the App Store. The 40 countries nearly overlap with the 40+ countries where the iPhone app charts: Latin America, Europe and the Gulf. Its iPhone revenue appears to follow where its web ads run (inferred).

Third, the founder makes content. The brand TikTok @aiapply.co has 27k followers and 613 videos. The founder, Aidan Cramer, has a personal account with 18k followers and 2.73M likes (TikTok, 11-06). He posted a video of an AI avatar going to interviews for him, which Daily Dot covered. The company originally tested demand with demo videos on Twitter and TikTok.

Fourth, search and word-of-mouth articles. Its website blog is full of "best AI auto-apply tools" posts, with itself ranked first. On Trustpilot it has 2000+ reviews at 4 stars. The app title uses "AI Job Search & Apply," which competes head-to-head with Circle and Wobo.

How much the parent company earns

In 2024, an April Starter Story interview had the founder self-reporting 15k USD in monthly revenue; in 2025 they told the public about 1M users, a team of 4, and revenue in the "millions" (on the Scaling Europe podcast and in a widely shared LinkedIn post). Funding was only about 350k USD (PitchBook). The founder also said on X that "over 90% of revenue comes from B2B, where companies pay to access our candidates," and the website has a white-label partnership page. If true, the job-seeker ads are also building a candidate pool for employers, so losing money on the consumer side still pays off (unverified).

What users complain about

In the US, Canada and UK reviews, one-star ratings dominate, and they complain about four things:

  • The paywall itself. This is the biggest category: "If I could afford a subscription, why would I be looking for a job app?" "50 USD a month to find a job, you're crazy." UK: "After filling out the questionnaire, it dropped me straight on a paywall, starting at £50 a month."
  • Mass applying. "I'm a civil engineer, and it applied to everything it saw." "I told it not to apply to one company, and it did anyway. Awkward, and very hard to undo." "It kept applying me to travel agency jobs."
  • Running out of credits, and fabricated cover letters. "Used up a whole month's credits in 10 days... the cover letter made up experience I don't have."
  • How pricing is presented. Canada: "I thought I was paying for one week, but there were hidden fees and credits inside the app."

One three-star review said what people really want: "It should wait until I get a job before charging, like a Hollywood agent. Scarlett Johansson doesn't pay her agent upfront. We're broke, remember?"

Who it's competing with

CompetitorsHow it differs
Sprout (iOS, 2025-01)A "Tinder for jobs" where you swipe to apply. Native mobile, and its iPhone scale is hundreds of times AIApply's.
Sorce (iOS, 2024-07)Gives free daily swipes and has a low barrier to entry. It's growing fastest right now and was featured in New York magazine.
Jobright (iOS + web)Focuses on matching and an AI assistant, with strong brand recognition on the web in the US.
Simplify (started as a Chrome extension, moved to iOS in 2026)One-click form filling. You still click submit yourself.
JobCopilot, LazyApply, LoopCV, ApplyAll (web)Same model as AIApply's web version. ApplyAll has publicly reported 30k USD in Stripe revenue over 27 days.
huntt, Circle, Wobo, Apply4Me, Hired AI and others (iOS)Small teams with the same model, each with dozens to hundreds of ratings.
LinkedIn Easy Apply, Indeed one-click applyFree, but they don't pick jobs for you, rewrite your resume, or auto-submit.

The idea of "AI applies to jobs for you" has been crowded on the web for 2022 years. On mobile, Sprout and Sorce have already scaled up. AIApply has nothing new in form on iPhone. What it has is a million web users and over a year of ongoing ad spend.

If it were you

The verdict: Don't copy it. Its small iPhone bump comes from the parent's existing users and ad budget, which you don't have. The category is crowded on both web and mobile, and the parent company's story has already been told in podcasts and startup media.

Who it's for: Teams that already have a web product whose web ads pay back. It shows how to catch existing users on iPhone and add an in-app purchase on top. Also for people who want to build the part of job tools nobody does well.

Who it's not for: Anyone who wants to build an "AI auto-apply" app from scratch. You'd be the huntt or Wobo in the table, with dozens of ratings. Also anyone without an ad budget who is counting on high-ticket 49 USD sales to climb the charts.

How to do it:

  1. If you have a web product, follow its order: run web ads first, then launch the app, use push notifications about "interview invitations and recruiter replies" to keep users, and put the category keyword in your title.
  2. If you're building a product, don't build "apply to more jobs." Build the two things users complain about: only apply to jobs I actually want (career switchers, location limits, never apply to blacklisted companies), and charge only once I get an offer. Reviews show people are already writing that copy for you. Success-based pricing means you have to front the costs and be able to verify hires, which is hard, but it's exactly the part nobody is doing (inferred).
  3. When reading App chart data for this kind of app, convert to unit sales first: at $49 a sale, reaching the top 20 in a small-country business chart is just a few sales a day. Don't get fooled or scared by "charted in dozens of countries".

How they get users: copy their Meta playbook. Talking-head videos, "comment a word and I'll DM you the link," and the parent angle (parents anxious about their kid's job search). The founder films "AI interviews for me" demos and posts them on TikTok.

When is the window: there isn't an obvious one. This category is now a fight over paid acquisition and brand, and it won't get better or worse based on who arrives a few months later. The wildcard is when LinkedIn or Indeed makes "auto-apply" a free feature.

What would show we got it wrong: (1) AIApply's iPhone app climbs to thousands of ratings within a few months and charts in the US Top Grossing Business top 30. That would mean web-to-app traffic can scale on mobile, and "build the web product first, then the app" is worth more than it looks. (2) Someone runs a "pay only when you get an offer" model on mobile and their ratings grow faster than Sorce's. That would mean the real gap is the pricing model, not the apply feature.

One line

It's not a new app built from scratch. It's the iPhone version of an already-working web company (AIApply.co, London, founded 2023, claims 1M+ users and "millions" in annual revenue) on 2026-08-24. The modest iOS traction (206 ratings, tail-end Business Top Grossing charts in 45 countries) mostly comes from existing web users and continuing Meta/Google paid acquisition flowing into mobile. It isn't iOS generating growth on its own.

1. What the data card says (plus what our library adds)

  • Listed on 2026-08-24. Developer account AiApply Ltd (id1740976670), with this one app under it. iTunes lookup: current version 1.7.0 (released 2026-11-05; release notes mention interview invitation and recruiter reply push notifications). Available in 5 languages: English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish.
  • Global ratings: 2026-10-28 runs from 163,11-06 to 206 (about 5 more per day). US alone: 99 ratings, average 3.3 stars (US App Store page).
  • Top Grossing ranks: it charts daily in 35–47 countries' Business Top Grossing, but never high: New Zealand 19, Slovakia 28, Colombia 33, Canada 75, UK 84, US 128 (appstore library app_profile). It has never charted overall in any country. The Business Top Grossing bar in small countries is low: reaching #19 takes only a few sales a day.
  • In-app purchases (US store page): Auto-Apply Starter $49, Pro $99, Pro+/Elite $199. Weekly subscriptions: Starter Weekly $14.99, Pro Weekly $19.99. Premium $29, Interview Buddy $19, Resume Tailor and AI Cover Letter $12 each. High ticket prices mean it can chart in Business Top Grossing with few ratings.
  • Complaints cluster around three things: "billed weekly at $12, but charged $49/month as soon as you start"; "applies to jobs you didn't pick"; "AI-written cover letters invent experience." Refunds are hard to get, and credits run out in 10 days.

Bottom line: AIApply is a late and very small entrant on iOS. Sprout and Sorce have already scaled the "swipe to apply on your phone" format. AIApply's edge isn't the format. It's the users, content, and paid acquisition behind its web product.

3. Growth tactics (evidence)

  1. Ongoing heavy Meta paid acquisition (verified): Meta library Page "AI Apply" (page_id 15645565089B likes), 2026-11-06 running 359 ads now, 3954 in total historically (11-01 count). Covers FB / IG / Messenger / Threads. On the US and UK "resume builder" first screen it ranks #1, and "cover letter" ranks #2–4. 63% of creatives are video, with copy like "comment APPLY and I'll send you the link" and "I stopped applying to jobs for my son," which are UGC and parent-angle hooks. Every landing page is aiapply.co, so ads drive traffic to the web product, not directly to app installs.
  2. Google paid acquisition (verified): Google library, advertiser AIAPPLY LIMITED (payer AiApply Ltd), 200–300 creatives total, 7 still showing in the last 123 days, across 40 countries, first shown 2025-08-20. app_install_share = 0, so these aren't app-install ads either. The 40 countries mostly match the 40+ countries where it charts on iOS (Latin America, Europe, the Gulf). That suggests iOS revenue geography follows the web paid acquisition.
  3. Founder and brand TikTok (verified): @aiapply.co has 27k followers, 940k likes, 613 videos. Founder @aidancramer has 18k followers and 2.73M likes (TikHub). His "AI avatar goes to interviews for me" videos were covered by Daily Dot. Early on, the company validated demand with demo videos on Twitter/TikTok (sofarbot, Starter Story).
  4. Web user migration (partly verified): the official Instagram posted a reel: "iPhone users 👀 AIApply now has an app on the App Store. If you've been using it on a laptop, you can now open it on your phone too." (instagram.com/reel/DfPy91yy8mO). Early iOS downloads most likely came from web users being pointed to the app.
  5. SEO and comparison posts: aiapply.co/blog runs many self-promotional "best AI auto-apply tools" articles. Competitors also publish "AIApply review" posts that take shots at it. Trustpilot has 2000+ reviews, 4 stars.
  6. App Store search: the title uses the keyword set "AI Job Search & Apply," the same as Circle and Wobo. Keyword rankings were not tested this round.

4. Why it took off

  • Started on the web in 2023; in 2024 Starter Story covered the founder's self-reported monthly revenue of $15k (the page later changed to $25k). In 2025 they told people on the record that they had 1M users, ARR grew 5–6x, the team was 4 people, and "millions in revenue" (Scaling Europe podcast, Seb Johnson's LinkedIn). Total funding is only about $350k (PitchBook: Haatch, Tech Nation).
  • Why users come now: the job market is brutal, and "auto-apply" solves the pain of filling the same forms over and over. They went to iOS so existing users could get interview and recruiter-reply notifications on their phones (the 1.7.0 release added exactly this push), and to route daily Meta/Google ad traffic into in-app purchases.
  • Why people pay: credits are sold per application ($49 = 100 applications), tied to the outcome of "getting an interview," which appeals to desperate job seekers. But the bad reviews show retention and refund risk: posts like "paid $639, 78 days, applied to 1283 jobs before I got one" show up on Reddit, in both the praise and the complaints.
  • Where the money comes back: a high-priced subscription, plus credits, plus add-on services (resume rewriting, cover letters, interview helper). The founder also said on X that "over 90% of revenue comes from B2B, with companies paying to tap into our candidate pipeline," and there is a white-label partner program (aiapply.co/partners). So consumer ad spend may be building a candidate pool for the B2B side at the same time, which would let the company break even even if each consumer sale loses a little. This claim is unverified.

5. Differentiation

  • Compared with native-phone rivals (Sprout, Sorce): AIApply's app doesn't win on a "swipe to apply" format. Its edge is the whole web product behind it (resume, cover letter, ATS scan, mock interviews, the live Interview Buddy assistant, and three application modes: Auto / Hybrid / Review), a base of a million users, TikTok content, and a Meta and Google ad budget that has been burning for over a year.
  • Is that why it's gaining traction on iOS? Yes. Whatever iOS traction is visible comes almost entirely from the web brand and paid acquisition funneling people in. The product itself has mediocre reviews on iOS (3.3 stars), and it is far smaller than Sprout and Sorce in this category.

6. How many people know about it

  • The parent company has been widely covered: Starter Story wrote a case study, Scaling Europe ran a podcast, a viral LinkedIn post claimed "1M users 4 people," Daily Dot reported on it, and review sites use it as a target for comparisons. Revenue isn't listed on TrustMRR, but the founder has publicly stated the scale on podcasts and social media.
  • The iOS app itself: searching X chatter (x-radar, last 60 days) for "aiapply" returns nothing. Almost nobody is specifically discussing this app.
  • Copycats: the "AI auto-apply" space is already crowded. On iOS there's Sprout, Sorce, huntt, Circle, Wobo, Apply4Me, Hired AI, Sawell, and more. On the web there's JobCopilot, LazyApply, ApplyAll, NeverApply, and others. I found no one specifically cloning AIApply's iOS version.

7. What others can learn

  • A company that has already proven paid acquisition on the web goes to iOS first to "catch existing users and add one more in-app purchase revenue stream," then uses push notifications (interview invites, recruiter replies) to boost retention. The new app hit the Business Top Grossing chart in dozens of countries, thanks to the parent brand's ad reach rather than ASO.
  • A high-ticket credit system can push an app into a small country's Business Top Grossing chart with just a handful of purchases. So when you read this kind of app's chart position, convert it to "how many sales that takes" first, and don't overestimate it.
  • Meta creative approach: UGC tone, DM hooks like "comment APPLY and I'll send you the link," and a parent's point of view.
  • Lesson from the mistakes: pricing listed weekly but billed monthly draws lots of 1-star reviews and "scam" accusations, and risks Apple review rejection and refunds.

8. Still unclear

  • Actual iOS revenue and downloads (Apple doesn't publish them; the chart position suggests a small scale, probably under a few dozen sales a day. This is an estimate).
  • How accurate the "90% of revenue from B2B" claim is, whether it still holds, and what the ROI of consumer paid acquisition looks like.
  • Whether any ads specifically push iOS installs (the Meta / Google libraries show only web landing pages; there is no Apple Search Ads data).
  • No TikTok ads in the EU ad library. That only means they aren't running TikTok ads in Europe.
