A button TikTok won't build: RepostZap entered six months late and hit #3 by flooding the market with videos

What it is A phone app that batch-removes your TikTok reposts for you. Log in, it scans your profile, you tick what to delete, and it removes them one by one at human speed.

Why it took off TikTok deliberately doesn't offer bulk delete, and demand was already trained by early players. On launch day, a batch of low-follower accounts paid per view posted template videos, then invite codes unlocked more deletions, and 33 languages captured Saudi Arabia and Russian-speaking markets.

CHow you could follow it Stop building repost deleters. Build bulk actions on other platforms, or ones the platform refuses to offer, and copy the playbook: cold-start with pay-per-view low-follower videos, trade invites for quota, and go multilingual from day one.

C grade: the playbook is clear and worth learning, but the category already has a 2.68M-install leader and a dozen copycats. Revenue is small and fully dependent on platform goodwill, so following it isn't a great bet.

To this day TikTok has no "unrepost all" button, so someone built an app that clicks through them one by one. The category blew up half a year before RepostZap arrived at the end of July. Its features are nearly identical to the leader's. It reached #3 with dozens of zero-follower accounts, one invite-code system and 33 languages. It shows how a latecomer takes share, but not that you should enter now.

A video from launch day

On 2026 Jul 28, RepostZap launched on the App Store. The same day, a TikTok account with only 1,285 followers, @naia.xo1, posted a video captioned with one line: "new app to unrepost all my repost here on tt", followed by #repostzapapp and a gibberish tag, #8iaj9. By Nov 6 the video had 640k views and 23.5k likes.

Three-plus months later, searching #repostzap still turns up nearly the same sentence, posted from different throwaway accounts: Nov 4 @leannagolding "how to remove all your reposts", 68k views; same day @sparkzklee "new app to unrepost all my repost here on tt", 284 views; Nov 6 @simplychey, 6,0 followers, 6 views. Each one ends with a different five-character gibberish tag: #kj3hu, #pu17r, #x7k4i.

Those gibberish tags are the secret behind its growth. More on that below.

What it is

A tool that batch-removes your TikTok reposts. You log into TikTok inside the app, it scans your profile and lists every repost, you untick the ones to keep, and it simulates human taps on your phone to click "Unrepost" one at a time.

Why people want it: TikTok only lets you unrepost one at a time, and reposts drive engagement, so the platform has no incentive to add bulk delete. People who have hundreds or thousands of reposts want to clean up their profile or rebrand, or, as a user in Saudi Arabia wrote in a comment (11-02):

التطبيق جدا مفيد خاصه للي ريبوستاته ذنوب ويبي يشيلها — "Super useful, especially for people who feel their reposts are sins and want to remove them."

The developer, Appalex, is a small Hungarian company with four or five other small apps, including language learning and card valuation. Released on iOS 7-28 and Android 7-30.

How big it is

Not big, but real.

  • iOS global ratings: 8,829; US store rating: 4.7 stars; new ratings in the last 7 days: 666 (App Store, 11-06). From late October to early November it added 51–134 ratings a day, a flat curve with no manufactured spike.
  • The most reviews don't come from the US. Saudi Arabia leads with 2,633 reviews, and its social chart climbed from #45 at the end of October to #22 on 11-06. The US has 2,107 reviews and sits outside the top hundred on social charts. Russia (707), Ukraine (408), Egypt (294) and Vietnam (240) follow.
  • Android is bigger than iOS: about 173k Google Play installs (11-06).
  • Money is small. No country has it in the overall Top Grossing chart. It sits at #33–66 in Social Top Grossing only in small storefronts like Belarus, Russia and Egypt. Monthly revenue is inferred to be low, with no direct figures.

Who it's competing with

The category is much bigger, and much more crowded.

Feature-wise, scanning, ticking, bulk delete, log export and invite-code quota boosts are nearly identical across RepostZap and ClearTok. So it outperforms the dozen copycats that launched at the same time, and the reason isn't the product.

Where its users come from

1. Low-follower accounts paid per view. The gibberish tags above point to a platform called Noise. Noise recruits "zero followers, no face needed" regular people. Brands supply templates and copy, creators open new accounts and post, each person gets a personal code that they include as a tag in their videos, and the platform pays per view. Its website gives an example of $0.50–4.00 per thousand views, with withdrawals at $10. In one RepostZap video, creator @golf.finds4 wrote in the caption "use code TFYJQ to join Noise and earn", and the tag on his video was #tfyjq. Whether every other video went through Noise wasn't checked one by one, but the phrasing is identical.

That explains why searching #repostzapapp turns up 80 results, 65 of which are videos from 64 different accounts, with captions cycling through three or four lines. Median views were only 269, and posting density was rising in early November. Most videos get no views, with occasional outliers in the hundreds of thousands: 7-28's video with 640k, and 8-03 @paristhacher's with 250k. Pay-per-view has this upside: no one watching, no cost. Using Noise's quoted rates, the video with 640k views likely cost a few hundred to over two thousand dollars (estimated).

2. Invite codes. Free users have a daily deletion cap (a Saudi review says 50 a day), and each invite raises the cap. So users post codes on TikTok themselves: "FRESH CODE: RZUJ2TK" (@karol1na, 122k views), and in Russian "используй код RZELTRJ". ClearTok runs the same system.

The daily cap is also sold as a feature. The store page says deletion happens "on your own phone, at the pace of a careful person", the cap "only grows when your account looks healthy", and "if you have a big backlog it may take days to clear, and that's by design". People worried about getting banned find this reassuring, and the paywall gets its reason too: the Pro subscription (weekly, monthly, yearly) removes the cap.

3. 33 languages, and Saudi Arabia caught the wave. English-speaking markets belong to ClearTok, yet more than half of RepostZap's ratings come from Saudi Arabia, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt and Vietnam. The Russian store title was swapped to the "Delete All Reposts" phrase locals actually search. Saudi Arabia is especially notable: Arabic TikTok tutorials on "حذف الريبوستات" (delete reposts) routinely get 1.7M to 3.3M views, often with tags about the Quran and "continuous charity". Some people treat reposted music and inappropriate content as sins that accumulate and want them cleared. Whether RepostZap ran targeted Arabic creator campaigns wasn't confirmed. The creator videos we saw were mainly in English and Russian. Its #1 position in Saudi Arabia more likely reflects Arabic localization plus store search catching this demand (inferred).

Ads: No RepostZap ads turned up in the Meta, TikTok or Google ad libraries, but those libraries have limited coverage, so not finding them doesn't mean it didn't advertise.

If it were you

Verdict: Don't build another TikTok repost-deleter app. The category has a 2.68M-install leader, two earlier rivals and a dozen copycats that never took off, and revenue is small. What's worth taking away is the playbook: pay-per-view low-follower creators at volume, invite codes that trade for quota, and non-English markets first.

Who it suits: People already building, or ready to build, tools for bulk actions the platform refuses to offer (bulk unlike, bulk comment delete, bulk unfollow, clearing saves), who can ship an app in three to four weeks and are willing to spend a few thousand dollars a month on pay-per-view creator videos. People whose native language is a large non-English market like Arabic, Turkish or Indonesian have a bigger edge.

Who it doesn't suit: People hoping to win through product differentiation (this kind of tool has almost no room for it); people who can't stand having their product broken by platform redesigns (RepostZap's update log keeps fixing "scan can't find reposts"); people aiming for big revenue (it reached #3 in its category but has only charted Top Grossing in small storefronts).

How to do it: Find a platform or action that ClearTok doesn't cover yet. Note that ClearTok's company launched a "delete likes" version in Oct 28, and an Instagram version, ClearIns, already exists, so search the stores first. Keep RepostZap's structure: log in → scan → tick → delete at human pace → local log. Free gets a small daily quota, each invite adds quota, and a weekly Pro subscription removes the cap. Ship store pages in 33 languages on day one, with titles using the words locals actually search.

How to get users: Before launch, post tasks on platforms like Noise, prepare three or four template captions like "finally clear all your XX in one tap", and have dozens of low-follower accounts start posting on launch day, paid per view. Watch which language's videos and ratings grow fastest, and put more money there.

When is "before"?: There's no seasonality, but the window can close any time when a platform ships native bulk features. Where a platform's bulk function is still missing, move now, the sooner the better.

Signs you've misread it: ① TikTok or Instagram ships native bulk delete; ② platforms start mass-banning accounts that use these tools, and store reviews fill with "got banned"; ③ RepostZap's Saudi ranking and daily new ratings clearly drop after November, showing that volume from low-follower creators can't hold; ④ the reverse: if it or ClearTok copies the same playbook on Instagram or YouTube and reaches similar scale within months, the playbook travels, and you should have moved earlier.

Where users come from
  • Confirmed TikTok paid UGC sock-puppet matrix: #repostzapapp has 65 videos from 64 accounts in the top results, with templated captions and random tracking tags. Median views 269. The launch-day video from @naia.xo1 hit 640k views (TikHub, 11-06)
  • Confirmed Invite-code referral loop: the store listing says "each verified invite raises your daily removal cap". Codes are being posted on TikTok, e.g. RZUJ2TK and RZELTRJ
  • Inferred Arabic religious motive and tutorial video wave: Arabic tutorials on "حذف الريبوستات" (deleting reposts) pull 1.7M to 3.3M views. Saudi commenters say reposting is a "sin" they want to delete. Saudi rating 2633, #1 in that store
  • Inferred Multilingual store search: 33 languages. The Russian store title was changed to Delete All Reposts, and it charts in the category tail across 69–78 stores
  • Verified indie dev launch platform: trylaunch.ai launched on 7-24, 1 upvotes; listed on the Shipaton showcase page

Why RepostZap showed up

App Store id 6793075281, developer Appalex Ltd. Apple's registered seller is Appalex Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság, a Hungarian limited company. The same company also has small apps Wordy (language learning) and Ripdex (card valuation). iOS launched 2026-07-28; the Android package com.appalex.repostzap launched 2026-07-30. The UI supports 33 languages; the store listing says 35. Which stores: the appstore library scanned all stores. It charts in the social category in 69–78 stores. Top stores by ratings: Saudi Arabia 2633, US 2107, Russia 707, Ukraine 408, Egypt 294, Vietnam 240, Germany 206 (app_profile, 11-06).

One line

TikTok still has no bulk repost removal. You can only tap "Undo repost" one at a time. RepostZap is a tool that does those taps for you. The category took off at the end of 2025, driven by ClearTok and Unrepostify. RepostZap came later and ranks third in the category. It got traction from three things: batches of UGC sock-puppet videos on TikTok (templated captions, tracking tags), an invite-code referral loop (each invite raises your daily delete cap), and localization into 35 languages. Saudi Arabia became the top market because Arabic users have a religious motive: they see reposted music or inappropriate content as "ongoing sins" (ذنوب جارية) and want them cleared. Verdict: small but real.

1. Data

  • Total iOS ratings across all stores: 8829. New ratings in the last 7 days: 666; in the last 30 days: 831 (app_profile, 11-06). From 10-28 to 11-06 it added 51–134 ratings a day (data card). On average, over 100 days live, that adds up to about 8.8K ratings, roughly 88 a day. The curve is steady, with no sudden spike.
  • New ratings per day by store (app_day, 10-28 to 11-06): Saudi Arabia 8–35 a day, social free chart climbing from #45 to #22; US 11–30 a day, social free chart #119–176; Russia 1–17 a day.
  • Android is bigger than iOS: the googleplay library shows RepostZap with 172,956 installs and a 5,264 rating, in-app purchases priced $4.99–$49.99.
  • Revenue: it never made the overall Top Grossing chart in any store. It only charted in the social category's Top Grossing in smaller stores, e.g. #33 in Belarus, #66 in Egypt, #49 in Russia (app_day, 10-30, 11-03). Revenue scale is small.
  • Monetization: free users can delete about 50 a day, with watching ads or inviting friends raising the cap. Pro has weekly, monthly and yearly subscriptions (US App Store page, plus a Saudi review saying "الحد اليومي ٥٠", i.e. "daily limit 50").

2. Competitors (all solving "TikTok can't bulk-undo reposts")

iOS data is the total across all stores from the appstore library's app_profile (11-06). Android data is from the googleplay library.

The category's structure is: real demand (the platform deliberately skips it) + low barrier (simulating taps in a WebView) + many copycats. RepostZap entered at 2026-07 and reached third place in the category.

3. Growth tactics

  1. TikTok UGC sock-puppet matrix (confirmed, main channel): searching the tag #repostzapapp with TikHub, the top 80 results include 65 videos from 64 different accounts. The captions are highly templated, essentially a few lines: "new app to unrepost all my repost here on tt", "how to remove all your reposts at once", "repost remover #tips". All carry a string of random suffix tags such as #x7k4i, #gyg, #88u9v, #xn1qf. That kind of random suffix is a tracking-code style common to pay-per-view UGC platforms like Sideshift or Whop Content Rewards. Most accounts have only 0 to a few hundred followers, with median views of 269. Posting density clearly rises between 11-02 and 11-06. A few accounts have bios or tags like #workonlinefromhome and sidehustleswithbee, which suggests side-hustle creators. The top hits are the launch-day video from 7-28 @naia.xo1 (640k views, 23.5k likes), plus two from 7-29 and 8-03 (210k and 250k views). The official @repostzap1 tutorial has 85k views. Conclusion: this looks like a paid UGC / amateur-posting project. The specific platform and per-post rate have not been verified.
  2. Invite-code loop (confirmed): the store listing says "each verified invite raises your daily removal cap". On TikTok, people post codes specifically, e.g. "FRESH CODE: RZUJ2TK" (@karol1na.122k views), the Russian "используй код RZELTRJ" (@repostdeleat), and "code : RZMZMJH". ClearTok uses the same playbook (user videos say "use my code 2D772D9245").
  3. Riding the Arabic religious motive and tutorial video wave (demand confirmed; RepostZap's specific acquisition path there is inferred): Arabic TikTok tutorials on "حذف الريبوستات" (delete reposts) routinely reach 1.7M to 3.3M views, often tagged #قران (Quran) and #صدقه_جاريه (ongoing charity). A Saudi comment reads "مفيد خاصه للي ريبوستاته ذنوب ويبي يشيلها", meaning "especially useful for people whose reposts are sins and who want to remove them". Saudi Arabia is RepostZap's top market and ranks #22 on the social free chart. Whether RepostZap made Arabic-specific creative is unverified. The UGC we saw is mostly English and Russian.
  4. Localization and store search (inferred): supports 33 languages. The Russian store title was changed to "Delete All Reposts", targeting local search terms. It charts in the category tail across 69–78 stores, which fits the typical pattern of long-tail stores relying on keyword search.
  5. Indie dev launch platform (confirmed, small volume): 7-24 launched on trylaunch.ai with only 1 upvotes. It is also listed on RevenueCat's Shipaton showcase page.
  6. Paid ads: nothing in the metaads / tiktokads / googleads libraries. Ad libraries only track listed products, and TikTok's ad library only covers ads served in Europe, so not finding ads doesn't mean there were none.

4. Was it faked?

  • The rating curve is steady, about 50–130 a day, spread across 70+ stores. Android has 170k installs and 5k ratings, and the two platforms line up.
  • Saudi reviews are short, many along the lines of "Best app" or "واو" (wow), but that is typical of the Saudi store. There are also plenty of reviews with specific pain points, like "you have to pay to delete more than 50" or "too slow", which don't look fake.
  • Conclusion: the growth is real. But it came from a paid UGC project, not organic word of mouth.

5. Why it took off

  1. Real need plus a platform gap: TikTok only lets you remove reposts one at a time, and people who have piled up thousands of reposts have a genuine cleanup need. Early players like ClearTok have already educated the market through tutorial videos, so the demand is ready-made (ClearTok's TikTok tutorial has 5.54M views).
  2. Seeding volume with a UGC amateur matrix: launch-day videos already had 640k views, and dozens of small accounts kept posting template videos afterward.
  3. Invite codes turn users into promoters: the delete cap is tied to invites, so users post their own codes on TikTok without being asked.
  4. Multilingual, reaching non-English markets: competitors' localization is weak in Saudi Arabia, Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam and Egypt. Saudi also has a religious motive, which makes demand especially strong.
  5. Detailed account-safety messaging: the listing emphasizes "deletes at human speed, daily caps, and runs only in your own phone's session", which eases users' fear of account bans. It also gives a reasonable justification for the free-tier limits.

6. Differentiation, and whether that's why it took off

Functionally it is almost identical to ClearTok and Unrepostify: scan, select, bulk delete, local log, CSV export, and even the same invite-code mechanic. The real difference is distribution: paid UGC seeding at scale, 35 languages, and TikTok cold-start from launch day. The "daily cap + account safety" framing is a modest product difference too. So it didn't win through product differentiation but through distribution execution. In an already validated category, it took third place by seeding volume and grabbing share.

7. What others can borrow

  • "Bulk actions the platform deliberately skips" are a stable category of tool demand: bulk-delete reposts, likes, comments, unfollows, saved items... Data-Traces has already followed this line with ClearTok: Like Remover (launched 10-28) and ClearIns (the Instagram version).
  • Cold-start playbook: find UGC platforms that pay per view (Sideshift / Whop Content Rewards, etc.), then use templated captions plus tracking tags to seed TikTok in bulk. Tie the free quota to invite count so users post the codes themselves.
  • Go multilingual first: non-English markets have less competition, and there may be special demand hidden in them, like the religious motive in Saudi Arabia.
  • Risk: this kind of tool depends entirely on the platform. If TikTok changes its page structure or starts banning accounts, the product breaks (the changelog keeps noting "repost scan can't find"). And TikTok could roll out bulk delete itself at any time.

8. Still unclear

  • Which platform the UGC project used, how much it spent, and what the acquisition cost was.
  • Whether it ran Meta / TikTok ads. Our library shows nothing, but coverage is limited.
  • Real revenue. It only charted in Top Grossing in a small storefront, so monthly revenue is estimated to be low, with no direct data.
  • Where the Saudi traffic came from: Arabic UGC, store search, or organic word of mouth.
  • Team size. The seller is a Hungarian company, and some details are unknown.
