> The developer ran two TikTok “real person” accounts, one on home buying and one on used cars. They first analyzed real listings with the app, then posted practical tips daily and worked the app in naturally. Single videos hit 100k–200k views. With a hard paywall, it reached #5 in the Shopping Top Grossing chart of a French store, where the bar is not high.

# A 21-year-old French developer used two TikTok accounts to push "AI helps you haggle" into the top 20 of the Shopping Top Grossing chart

**What it is** You paste second-hand listing links from Leboncoin and Vinted, and the AI scores them, estimates value, flags problems, and writes haggling messages and an inspection checklist. It's a weekly or monthly subscription.

**Why it took off** The developer ran two "real person" TikTok accounts, one about home buying and one about used cars. They analyzed real listings with the app, then posted daily tips with the app casually placed in them. Single videos reached hundreds of thousands of views. With a hard paywall and a low-bar shopping chart in France, it climbed to #5 in Top Grossing.

**B** **How you could follow it** Pick a country and language it hasn't entered yet (German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Dutch), build the same product shape, and open one content account per category posting daily to drive installs. Offer a free trial from the start, then add a pay-per-use option.

Grade B: the playbook is clear, costs are low, and almost nobody knows about it, so it can be copied by changing country. But its real revenue is unverified, the shopping chart has a low bar, and weekly subscriptions for "buy once, use once" use cases will likely retain poorly. Local French copycats have already appeared. Few people know about it yet

DealUp AI is a French second-hand buyer assistant: paste a Leboncoin or Vinted listing link and it tells you what the item is worth, what looks suspicious, and how to haggle. The product itself is a wrapper around AI that anyone could build. It held a spot on the French App Store shopping grossing chart because of two TikTok accounts that analyzed every listing with it, plus the fact that the chart has a low bar. The playbook can be copied into another country and language, but you need to work out the ceiling and retention first.

### "Let the bro take a bite"

In 2026 Aug 8, a TikTok account called @itsnotnils posted a video captioned with one line, "On fait croquer le frérot" (roughly "let the bro get a taste of this good deal"), tagged #leboncoin #dealup #analyse. The content was a Leboncoin listing analyzed with DealUp. The video got 237k views. 4 days later it posted "Bonne maison dans le 91" (a nice house in Essonne), 171k views; in Aug 25, "Minimum 30k de travaux je dirais" (I'd say at least 30k in renovation), 206k views (TikTok, 11-06).

This was less than a month after the app launched (Jul 29). The account bio read: "J'analyse chaque annonce avec DealUp AI" (I analyze every listing with DealUp AI).

It looks like a casual house-hunter, but it's the developer's own account. Another used-car account, @nolan.voitures, had a post that said outright: "Oui, la 1 c'est notre app DealUp AI" (Yes, the first one is **our** app, DealUp AI).

### What it is

The developer is Zineddine Gomri. French business registry records show he was born in 2005 and is a sole trader. His other app is for resumes and job searching. DealUp is called "DealUp AI: Achats d'occasion" (second-hand shopping) on iOS, and later got an Android version and a web version.

Usage is simple: when you see a listing on Leboncoin, Vinted, Facebook Marketplace, SeLoger, La Centrale, Chrono24, tap share and send it to DealUp. It produces a report:

- A score out of 100, plus a verdict: buy, haggle, check in person first, or walk away;

- A price estimate based on current second-hand market conditions;

- Mismatches between photos and description, what's missing, and what to watch out for;

- A suggested offer price and a haggling message you can send straight to the seller;

- An in-person inspection checklist. If the seller replies, paste it back in and the report updates.

Someone gave it 5 stars on day one: "Great for spotting scams, especially fake iPhones" (App Store French store, 7-29).

It's a hard paywall: recognition is free, but the full report needs a subscription, €4.99/week, €9.99/month, or €39.99/year, plus credit packs (App Store EU page, 11-06). It went from free to paid around mid-August, and both 1-star reviews are about that: "Good app, then it turned paid. Always paying, paying, paying" (9-15).

### Where users come from

**Mainly two TikTok accounts the team runs itself, split by category.**

| Account | Topic | Followers | Views |
|---|---|---|---|
| @itsnotnils ("Nils") | Buying a house | 1,329 | 50 entries, about 1.02M in total |
| @nolan.voitures ("Nolan") | Used cars | 753 | 46 posts, about 870k total views; top one "Used SUVs you should never buy" at 96k |

(TikTok,11-06)

Few followers, but the views are high, so the reach is coming from the recommendation feed, not fans. The August videos showing "real listings analyzed with App Store data" were the first wave. In mid-October, two accounts switched to generic how-to content and posted daily, with titles built on the same template:

- "5 things the dealership will never tell you" (5 things the car dealer won't tell you); the same week, another account posted "5 things the heating guy won't tell you";

- "6 sites that sellers don't want you to know about" (6 websites sellers don't want you to know about). Another account posted the same line, just swapping "sellers" for "real estate agents".

Both "6 websites" posts slip in the same line: "Ma préférée reste DealUp AI" (My favorite is still DealUp AI). Both accounts use the same post template and started posting daily at the same time, which suggests one person or one small team mass-producing them (inference).

The timing lines up too: videos about plate numbers ran in a stretch from October 19–23, picking up 5–100K views each; the room-number video got 117K in October 30; and in November 1 DealUp hit #5 on the France shopping Top Grossing chart before dropping back to around #18. That's only a timing match, though. There's no way to prove these videos caused it.

**Other channels:** The ad infrastructure is all wired up. The privacy policy lists the TikTok Business SDK, Singular attribution, and RevenueCat subscription callbacks, but the team doesn't appear in the TikTok or Meta ad libraries (I couldn't confirm whether there's any small test spend). The site joindealup.com has 113 pages across 11 country and language versions, targeting long-tail searches like "how to negotiate a used car price" and "Facebook Marketplace scams." The store title and subtitle include Leboncoin, Vinted, and Facebook Marketplace. No press coverage, and no third-party discussion turns up in search.

### How it's selling

| Metric | Metric | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| France store Top Grossing | 10-28 #8,11-01 #5,11-06 #18 | App Store charts |
| Belgium & Turkey Shopping Top Grossing | #17–42, #20–66 | Same as above |
| French ratings | 91 items, 4.75 points; 10 days, 10 more items | App Store,11-06 |
| Google Play | 1,000+ downloads | Play page, 11-06 |
| Overall chart | Never charted | — |

Downloads aren't big, but the paid conversion rate is strong enough to keep it on the Top Grossing chart. Be clear about the limits, though: in the French shopping Top Grossing chart, most of the top 20 are parcel trackers and Vinted seller tools, and the bar is low. A handful of subscriptions a day, maybe a dozen, could be enough (my inference, not calibrated). So "#5 on Top Grossing" doesn't mean "made a lot of money." The real revenue isn't visible from outside.

### Who it's competing with

| Product | Form | Compared with alternatives |
|---|---|---|
| Leboncoin's ChatGPT app | 2026-02 launched, 89M listings hooked into ChatGPT | Helps you compare prices and find deals. Doesn't do risk checks on individual listings or write haggling scripts. |
| ChatGPT / Claude with the listing link pasted in | Free | You have to know how to prompt it, and you can't get listing photos or structured info. |
| Scanicar, CarsVerif, AutoScanr | Web / Chrome extension | Used cars only |
| Repère Immo | Chrome Extension | Real estate only. Its promo copy is almost word for word the same as DealUp's: "J'analyse toutes mes annonces avec @Repère Immo", 4.5–78k views per video |
| CheckCheck | iOS, #9 in Top Grossing in the French shopping category | Sneakers and luxury goods, with human authentication |
| Vendly, BrocScan, ThriftAI | iOS, Vendly is #6 in Top Grossing in the French shopping category | Opposite direction: helps **sellers** price items and write listings |

Plenty of tools promise to check before you buy used, but most cover one category or are desktop extensions. On the French App Store, only this one is mobile-first, cross-category, and imports directly from Leboncoin's share menu. Someone in France (Repère Immo) has already copied its promo approach. Whether they learned it from DealUp, I can't tell.

### If it were you

**Bottom line** : worth a try. The playbook is clear and cheap to run, and few people know about it. The weak spot is that the revenue ceiling is unproven, and weekly subscriptions will likely retain poorly.

**Good fit for** : indie devs who can build mobile apps, can batch-produce short video with AI, and speak a language DealUp hasn't entered yet. Think Germany (Kleinanzeigen), Spain (Wallapop), Italy (Subito), Poland (OLX), or the Netherlands (Marktplaats).

**Not for** : anyone who doesn't want to make content or is counting on paid ads to drive growth. People use it once per purchase, so lifetime is short and paid acquisition rarely pays back. Also not for anyone who wants to go head-to-head with it in France, where it and a pile of single-category tools already compete.

**How to do it:**

- Copy the product: import from the share menu, and output a "verdict + suggested offer + ready-to-send haggling message + inspection checklist" rather than just a list of facts. Start by going deep on one or two categories with the most scams and highest prices, like used iPhones and used cars.

- Copy its paywall: check listings free, charge for the report. Its bad reviews are all about "sudden charges, no trial," so make the terms clear upfront and give one free full report.

- Give pay-per-use buyers a way in. Buying a car only takes a week, so a credit pack fits better than a weekly subscription.

**How to get users** : open a "real person" account for each category, one for cars and one for real estate, plus one for phones. Launch with videos that analyze real listings in the app, then switch to daily general tips like "5 things X won't tell you" and "6 sites sellers don't want you to know about," with "I analyze every listing with XX" in the bio. Also build long-tail search pages covering "how to negotiate the price of XX" and "XX platform scams."

**Why now** : the sooner the better. Someone in France is already copying its messaging, and DealUp itself is rolling out its website across the US, UK, and Latin America. Once it or a copycat reaches your language, the gap is gone. Big platforms might also add "AI checks your listing" themselves; Leboncoin has already connected to ChatGPT (inferred).

**What would mean you read it wrong** :

- Your content account hit 100k views on a single video, but few people subscribed. That means people are watching for entertainment, not paying to avoid getting scammed.

- Most of the first subscribers don't renew after a week, and credit packs don't sell well either. This business only works by constantly acquiring new users, so it won't last.

- The used-goods platforms in your country ban listing scraping, or they've launched the same feature themselves.

- On the flip side, if DealUp stays in the top 20 of the French Top Grossing chart and the US version starts charting too, expanding to new countries works, and it's worth investing more.

Where users come from

- **Verified** **own TikTok vertical persona accounts** : @itsnotnils (real estate, bio "J'analyse chaque annonce avec DealUp AI", 50 videos averaging 1.02M views, three #dealup videos in August at 17–240k views) and @nolan.voitures (cars, 46 videos averaging 870k views, posts say "la 1 c'est notre app DealUp AI"); same template titles, daily posting starting mid-October

- **Verified** **SEO landing pages across countries** : joindealup.com sitemap has 113 URLs across 11 language regions; guide and use-case pages target "négocier voiture occasion," "Facebook Marketplace scam," and "KBB/Zestimate"

- Inferred **App Store search ASO** : the French title and subtitle include brand keywords for Leboncoin, Vinted, and Facebook Marketplace; other storefronts renamed it Buying Assistant

## Why DealUp AI: Achats d'occasion (iOS 6793211987) managed to chart

> 2026-11-06 research. Data: our appstore / googleplay / tiktokads / metaads / chromestore libraries, TikHub (TikTok), Jina search and page text, iTunes lookup.

### One line

A "used-buyer AI assistant" built by a 21-year-old solo developer in France. Paste a Leboncoin / Vinted / La Centrale / SeLoger listing link and it outputs a 100-point score, fair value, photo risk flags, haggling scripts, and an inspection checklist. It's subscription-based. It has held a top 20 spot in the French Shopping Top Grossing chart, and the reason isn't product moat. It's **its own TikTok vertical content account network** (one "real person" account each for cars and real estate, claiming "I analyze every listing with DealUp AI") plus **a low bar on the French Shopping Top Grossing chart** .

### 1. Basic data

- Listed on 2026-07-29. The developer is Zineddine Gomri (2 apps under his App Store name; the other is CVLab Jobs: Emploi & CV, listed 2026-05-24, with 19 ratings). The Google Play developer name is "CVLab Jobs", with 1k+ downloads (Play page, 2026-11-06). Our googleplay library doesn't index this package.

- Developer background: societe.com lists GOMRI Zineddine as born in 2005 March, a sole proprietor, registered in Saint-Aigulin (17). Their LinkedIn bio reads "Building and scaling B2C mobile apps (15K+ users)… Focused on organic user acquisition" (search snippet).

- Ratings: 91 in France, 4.75 average; 10-28 81 → 11-06 91 ratings, 10 days, +10 ratings (appstore library app_day). The US page is named "DealUp AI: Buying Assistant" and has only 2 ratings.

- Top Grossing chart (appstore library chart_rank, Shopping category 6024 Top Grossing):
    - France: 10-28 #8, 10-29 #9, 10-30 #14, 10-31 #20, **11-01 #5** , 11-02 #11 … 11-06 #18.
    - Belgium: #17–#42 (after dropping to #111 on 11-01, it returned to #17 11-02).
    - Turkey: #20–#66 (Turkey ratings 0, source unclear; possibly French- or English-speaking users in Turkey, or a few paid downloads were enough to chart).
    - Never charted in the overall chart. The top 20 of the French Shopping Top Grossing chart is full of parcel-tracking apps and Vinted seller tools (Vendly #6, BrocScan #13, ThriftAI #19), which suggests the bar is low: a few to a dozen subscriptions a day may be enough to reach the top 20 (inferred, not verified).

- Pricing (App Store France storefront): weekly €4.99, monthly €9.99, yearly €39.99, plus €19.99/€38.99 tiers and credit packs (15 credits for €4.99 / 40 credits for €9.99). The app is listed as free for "identification", but the full report requires a subscription: a hard paywall. Two of the 1-star reviews are complaining "now it's paid, no trial" (2026-08-08, 09-15), suggesting the switch from free to hard paywall happened around mid-August.

- The product has expanded to web + iOS + Android. The site joindealup.com has hreflang versions for FR/DE/CH/CA/UK/US/IE/MX/BR/LATAM, and a sitemap with 113 URLs including long-tail SEO pages like /usages/negocier-voiture-occasion/ and /us/guides/negotiate-used-car/. The US version supports Zillow, Realtor.com, CarGurus and Facebook Marketplace.

### 2. Competitors

| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from DealUp |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Leboncoin × ChatGPT app | Big-company features | 2026-02-09 | Leboncoin's 89M listings plug into ChatGPT, covered by RTL and La Croix | Helps you **find** listings and compare prices, but doesn't do risk review on individual listings plus negotiation scripts; you use it inside ChatGPT |
| ChatGPT / Claude with the listing link pasted in | Big-company features | — | Huge | Free, but users need to know how to write prompts themselves, and it can't pull listing photos or structured data |
| Scanicar | Web/app (Bordeaux startup) | Around 2026 years ago, covered by Sud Ouest and Auto Plus | Got media coverage | Cars only; leans toward "audit / catch hidden defects", backed by media coverage |
| CarsVerif(carsverif.com) | Web | Not verified | Not verified | Only Leboncoin/La Centrale cars, almost identical in form (paste link → fair price + photos + scam check) |
| AutoScanr | Chrome | Not verified | Not verified | Chrome extension, cars, pay per use (10 uses for €2.49) |
| LeBonDétecteur | Chrome / web | 2026-07-21 | 44 users (chromestore library) | Leboncoin price history + anti-scam + negotiation messages, desktop |
| Repère Immo | Chrome + TikTok/IG | Started promoting around 2026-10 | TikTok @theo2buiz, 45k–78k views per video | Real estate only; and **its promotion playbook is identical to DealUp's @itsnotnils** ("J'analyse toutes mes annonces avec @Repère Immo") |
| Spottable | Chrome | Early 2026 | Discussed on Reddit | US Facebook Marketplace, desktop extension |
| carVertical | iOS/Android | 2020 | 1,593 rating in France, #29 in Shopping Top Grossing | Checks car history by VIN, doesn't read listings |
| CheckCheck | iOS | 2019 | 597 rating in France, #9 in Shopping Top Grossing | Sneaker/luxury authentication (human experts), single category |
| Vendly / BrocScan / ThriftAI / Vintly | iOS | 2025-06 ~ 2026-10 | Vendly France storefront 199 rating, Top Grossing #6 | All are **seller-side** (estimate resale price, write listings), not buyer-side |

Takeaway: there are plenty of "AI vetting before you buy used" tools, but almost all are single-category (cars / homes / shoes) or desktop extensions. I haven't seen a second one on the French App Store that is **cross-category + mobile app + takes shared listings straight from Leboncoin/Vinted** .

### 3. Growth tactics (where users come from)

**Main channel: self-run TikTok niche "real person" accounts (confirmed)**

- @itsnotnils ("Nils", 1,329 followers): bio reads "Astuces immo qu'on ne te donne pas 🏠 / J'analyse chaque annonce avec DealUp AI 👇". 50 posts with about 1.02M views in total. Three August listing-analysis videos tagged #dealup got 237k, 171k and 206k views (8-08 / 8-12 / 8-25), matching the early surge after 7-29 launched. Starting October it switched to photo carousels: 35 posts in October, 6 in the first 12 days of November, e.g. "6 sites pour acheter une maison sans agence" with 117k views. Captions embed "Ma préférée reste DealUp AI : elle lit l'annonce…"

- @nolan.voitures ("Nolan", 753 followers): bio reads "J'utilise "DealUp AI" sur l'App store et Play store". 46 posts averaging about 870k views, 21 of them over 10k, top one "Les SUV à ne JAMAIS acheter d'occasion" at 96k. One photo post says outright "Oui, la 1 c'est **notre** app DealUp AI", admitting it's their own account.

- The two accounts use the same title template ("X choses que le concessionnaire / le chauffagiste ne te dira jamais", "6 sites que les vendeurs / les agents immo n'ont pas envie que tu connaisses"). In mid-October both also started posting almost daily, which strongly suggests one team producing content in bulk (inference). @itsnotnils also uses the "jojo.aitools" original audio.

- Timeline check: 10-19~10-23 nolan posted back-to-back videos with 5–100k views, and itsnotnils hit 117k 10-30. Then 11-01 jumped to #5 on the France Top Grossing chart (#17 in Belgium), before drifting back to around #18. The content spike and the chart climb line up (correlation, causation not verified).

**Paid ads: set up, but no active campaigns found (partly confirmed)**

- The privacy policy states the iOS/Android builds integrate the TikTok Business SDK, and later added Singular attribution and RevenueCat subscription event reporting, which "sends conversions back when connected to ad networks like TikTok or Meta". The paid-acquisition infrastructure is in place.

- Our tiktokads library (only covers European ad spend) maps this app to status no_ads; the metaads library finds no advertiser for dealup/joindealup. So no large-scale paid acquisition is visible right now. Possibly small Spark Ads, or not yet started (unverified).

**SEO / multi-country landing pages (confirmed in progress, results unknown)**

- The site has 113 URLs and 11 locale versions. Use-case pages ("négocier voiture occasion") and guide pages ("how to negotiate a used car with AI") target keywords like "KBB / Zestimate / Facebook Marketplace scam" directly in FAQs. Searching "DealUp AI leboncoin" on Jina, the first results are its own pages and TikTok.

**Store search / ASO** : the French listing title is "Achats d'occasion" with brand terms Leboncoin, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace in the subtitle; the US/UK/DE storefronts use "Buying Assistant". This is normal ASO, and its contribution can't be quantified.

**Not found** : media coverage, X discussion (x-radar: 120 posts in the last 0 days), Product Hunt, Reddit threads, public revenue (TrustMRR etc.).

### 4. Why it took off

1. **The user pain is real and frequent** : the French second-hand market is huge (Leboncoin 89M listings, Vinted France 4.77M reviews). People fear fake or stolen iPhones, hidden defects in used cars, and scams in home listings. "faux iPhone Leboncoin"-style videos on TikTok routinely hit hundreds of thousands of views. The first-day 5-star review reads "Idéal pour détecter les arnaques notamment les iPhone contrefaits".

2. **Use content accounts, not ad accounts, to teach "how not to get scammed"** : car and home niche accounts first pull organic traffic with generic tips (which cars not to buy, what agents won't tell you), then softly plug DealUp in the bio and captions ("I analyze every listing with DealUp"). The cost is mostly labor and AI generation, which suits solo developers.

3. **Hard paywall + weekly subscription** : free covers only "identification", and the report needs a subscription (€4.99/week). Downloads aren't large (Play 1k+, iOS rating 91), but paid conversion is enough to hold a top-20 spot on the low-barrier France Shopping Top Grossing chart.

4. **A product format where "one report covers every next step"** : score + verdict (buy / negotiate / verify first / walk away) + target price + ready-to-send seller messages + an inspection checklist, and it can take the seller's reply back in and update the report. Less work than "asking ChatGPT", and broader coverage than single-category tools.

5. **Timing** : Leboncoin's 2026-02 entering ChatGPT means the French mainstream has already been educated by media to "shop second-hand with AI". But official capabilities lean toward "finding things", leaving room for "vetting individual listings".

### 5. Differentiation

- The reverse of seller tools (Vendly, BrocScan, ThriftAI): it sits on the **buyer** side.

- Compared with single-category tools (Scanicar, CarsVerif, Repère Immo, CheckCheck): **one app covers cars, homes, watches, phones and clothing** , pulling from multiple sources including Leboncoin, Vinted, La Centrale, SeLoger, Chrono24 and Jinka.

- Compared with ChatGPT / Leboncoin's official tools: **the output is a decision + action scripts** (negotiation messages, inspection checklists, follow-up conversations), not just information.

- These differences are the reason people are willing to pay, but **they are not the reason people see it** . What actually drove the growth is self-run TikTok content accounts; the product itself is an easily copied LLM wrapper (its privacy policy lists Anthropic as a data processor).

### 6. Visibility and copycats

- Visibility: few people know about it yet. No media coverage, no X discussion, no public revenue. The only public footprint is its own TikTok accounts and website.

- Copycats: Repère Immo (real estate version) started promoting around 2026-10 with almost the same TikTok line, "J'analyse toutes mes annonces avec @Repère Immo", getting 78k views per video. It's a replica of the same playbook (whether it deliberately copied DealUp is unverified). CarsVerif, LeBonDétecteur and AutoScanr are similar products; launch order not fully verified.

### 7. Takeaways

- **"One app + one persona content account per niche"** : the app is cross-category, while content accounts are split by niche (cars, homes), posting daily with generic templates ("5 things XX won't tell you", "N models not to buy"), with bios like "I analyze every listing with XX".

- Use **low-barrier small-country × small-category Top Grossing charts** (France Shopping) as the revenue validation ground, with a weekly subscription hard paywall.

- Make the output "decision + next-step script" rather than a pile of information, and support importing listings directly via the platform's share menu.

- Launch in French first, then reuse the same codebase per country by swapping data sources (Zillow/CarGurus/MercadoLibre) and landing pages.

### 8. Uncertain

- Actual revenue: the daily revenue corresponding to France Shopping Top Grossing #5–#20 hasn't been calibrated, unverified. The source of the Turkey chart is unclear.

- Whether there are self-run accounts in phone/sneaker/Vinted categories besides @itsnotnils and @nolan.voitures: TikHub search didn't find any, but not ruled out.

- Whether Spark Ads or Apple Search Ads are running: not visible in the libraries, but the SDKs are integrated.

- Retention: the hard paywall + weekly subscription + users' need is "buy something once, use it once", so renewal rates may be low. 1-star reviews cluster around pricing.
