# A "ride-acceptance traffic light" for Latin American rideshare drivers: it ran on Android for a year, moved to iPhone two months ago, and 13 ratings put it on the 7 countries' Top Grossing charts

**What it is** A ride-acceptance calculator for Latin American rideshare and delivery drivers: when a request pops up, it reads the fare automatically, works out how much you earn per km and per hour, shows green if it clears your floor and red if not; live scanning requires a subscription.

**Why it took off** On Android it reached 316k installs and real subscriptions through monthly-paying driver creators and promo codes. In September it arrived on iPhone, and long-waiting users paid right away. Reading other apps' screens is hard on iPhone, Spanish-speaking markets have almost no competitors, and the bar for the Latin American business Top Grossing chart is low.

**B** **How you could follow** Don't build another Spanish version for Android. Instead, tackle the iPhone screen-reading technical hurdle, and pick regions or groups where the store has no localized ride-reading tool yet (Peru, US Spanish-speaking drivers, European Uber/Bolt drivers, delivery riders). Copy its approach: pay a local driver creator a fixed monthly fee for one post a week, and attribute with promo codes.

Grade B: real demand, willingness to pay, and a clear acquisition playbook worth copying, with few people who know about it. But Android is already crowded, the iOS opening requires a niche technical route to get in, and the whole business depends on Uber and DiDi's screens. Account bans, Apple review, and Uber's built-in per-km earnings display could each knock it out at once, and GigU has just launched on iOS too. Chatter in small circles

Ruta Rentable does something simple: in the few seconds when Uber or DiDi shows a request, it works out for the driver how much that ride earns per km and per hour. It shows green if it meets your floor and red if not. It has 316k installs on Android and only came to iPhone this September. The iOS version has only 13 ratings, yet it's on the business Top Grossing charts in 7 countries, including Chile, Argentina, and Mexico. Two reasons: the people who came over were already willing to pay on Android, and on iPhone in Spanish-speaking markets, almost nobody had built a ride-reading tool like this.

### "¡YA ESTAMOS EN iPHONE!" (We're finally on iPhone!)

In 2026 September 1, the official TikTok account @ruta.rentable posted: "We're on iPhone now. The wait is over." The iOS version went live the same day. Two days later, Buenos Aires driver creator @uberx.arg also posted "RR now works on iPhone."

A five-star review on the Mexico App Store from September 5, titled "Imprescindible" (indispensable): "Thanks for bringing it to the App Store. I'm still running into that old problem everyone knows about…" "Everyone knows about" shows this user came over from Android. The website had long said "no iOS support," so iPhone drivers waited nearly a year.

### What it is

A driver sets their own floors, like a minimum per km and a minimum per hour, then turns on scanning and accepts rides in Uber, DiDi, inDrive, Cabify, or Bolt as usual. When a new request appears, Ruta Rentable reads the fare, distance, and duration off the screen and overlays a computed hint: green, yellow, or red. A long press shows details, including the passenger rating and how far you are from today's target.

The free tier includes bookkeeping, trip maps, and vehicle finding. Live scanning requires a subscription, with monthly and annual plans and 3-day trials; annual can be split into 12 installments. Android in-app purchases run from $5.99 to $37.99 (Google Play, 11-06). The website claims "200k+ drivers" and "30% more earnings on average," neither of which is sourced. The homepage still says "now live in the US," and recent updates added Lyft, miles, and US Uber Eats.

The iOS developer name is WAGNER DA SILVA BRAGA, who has only this one app. On Android it's listed as WSB Coding; "dale" in the package name is Argentine slang, and the contact email is rutarentable.ar@gmail.com. The team is likely in Argentina (inferred).

### 13 ratings, how does it chart in 7 countries' Top Grossing?

Numbers first (App Store and Google Play, 11-06):

| | Metric |
|---|---|
| iOS ratings | 13 worldwide, 8 in Mexico, average 3.0; only 10 more in 1 days |
| iOS Business Top Grossing | Chile #26, Argentina #39, Mexico #64, Colombia #80, Paraguay #82, Costa Rica #99, Ecuador #113 |
| iOS Business Top Free | Argentina #56–#72, Chile #79–#97, charted every day |
| Android cumulative installs | 316,091, +3,587 in the last 7 days, about 500 a day |
| Android Top Grossing | Argentina Utilities #9, Argentina all apps #95, Mexico Utilities #27 |

13 ratings and a top-grossing chart in 7 countries looks odd, but it tells you two things. First, the bar to chart in the App Store Business category across Latin America is low: a few subscriptions a day is enough (inferred). Second, the people coming in almost all pay, because they already used and paid for it on Android and know what it's worth. On Android it reached the top 100 of Argentina's all-apps grossing chart, so the subscription revenue is real.

It's also actively asking for ratings. The late-October update notes say it only prompts for a rating when the user is a Premium subscriber and the app is working well for them.

### Where users come from: paying driver influencers, one post a week

Its acquisition runs almost entirely through drivers themselves.

**Paid creator program.** The /partners page on the website is blunt: creators who make content about Uber, DiDi, and Cabify with 10k+ followers post 1 times a week, **get a fixed monthly payment on the 1th regardless of views** , plus free Premium. Only Latin American creators are accepted, paid via PayPal, Mercado Pago, DollarApp, and others. The page also says creator content gets "put into our paid ads in the app," so they're using creator footage as ad creative too.

**Driver creators on TikTok.** @fidelculebro (66k followers) has posted several times since October 2025, promoting the "RR7DIAS" code for a 7-day trial. @fran_eme (142k followers) covers "how to use RR on Uber and DiDi," with 96k views. Guadalajara's @alvaro_didipower.gdl (88k followers) was still posting in November 2. The content is a driver demoing a green ride and a red ride from inside the car. The creator is the user, and the video is the ad. The official account has only 6,548 followers, yet two of its posts, 2025-10-22 and 2026-08-29, each passed 210k views (TikTok, 11-06).

**Promo-code attribution.** The RR7DIAS code gives 7 days free and 5% off the annual plan. The link to Google Play carries the creator's ID, so it's clear which creator brought in how many people. The official May post, "DM for a cupón to get 7 days free," got 26k views.

**Word of mouth in driver groups.** In Mexican Uber driver Facebook groups, people are already posting "someone recommended Ruta Rentable to me, will DiDi ban my account?", "any free alternative like Ruta Rentable?", and "who has the Premium APK?" Drivers are hunting for substitutes and cracked versions, which suggests the name has become shorthand for this kind of tool within the community.

### Why the iPhone is the hard step

On Android this is already a crowded niche: Brazil's GigU has 2.8M installs, Argentina has Viaje Rentable with a nearly identical name (free basic tier), and there's Uddi and Mexico's Radar de Viajes (29k installs). On Android, reading another app's screen is doable with an accessibility service, so the barrier is low. Ruta Rentable's edge is getting there first, having more creators, and doing detailed Argentina localization.

The iPhone is different. Apple doesn't let one app read another app's screen. Ruta Rentable most likely does it with system screen recording plus on-device text recognition (inferred). Three clues: the App Store description says "analysis happens on your iPhone, no photos or videos are stored, works offline"; a November 1 three-star review complains "with it open I can't play music, no sound," which is the typical side effect of screen-recording broadcast taking over audio; and support replies tell users to "set up notification sharing per the tutorial, then press play."

This technical hurdle blocks most Spanish-language competitors. As of November 6, looking at iOS charts for Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia, it's the only one in its category. Brazil does have a batch on iPhone: Motorista One, Corrida Lucrativa, and GiraLucro, each with dozens of ratings. So this approach was proven in Brazil 2026 years ago, but they're all Portuguese-only. Category leader GigU only reached iOS in October 7, and its home market is still Brazil.

### Who it's competing with

| Product | Scale (11-06) | Compared with alternatives |
|---|---|---|
| GigU (Brazil, StopClub) | Android 2.8M installs, #1 Top Grossing auto in Brazil; on iOS 10-07, rated 283 in Brazil | Category leader, mainly Portuguese, with a Spanish site and a US version; not yet charting on iOS in Spanish-speaking markets |
| Viaje Rentable (Argentina) | Official site cites 198 Play reviews | Nearly identical name, free basic tier, calculates fuel costs and net income, Android only |
| Uddi | Very small | Nearly identical features and copy, Android only |
| Radar de Viajes | 29k installs on Android | Free, promoted in Mexican Uber driver groups |
| A batch on iOS in Brazil | 26–98 ratings each | Portuguese, Brazil only |
| Gridwise, Mystro, Maxymo | US | English-speaking market; Gridwise only logs earnings, doesn't read ride offers |
| Uber itself | 2026-05 is piloting a "estimated earnings per km" display on ride offers in parts of Chile, Argentina, and Mexico | Directly targets its core selling point; but it only covers Uber rides, while DiDi and inDrive still need it |

Few people know about it. No disclosed revenue, no press coverage, nobody on X talks about it, and it hasn't been on Product Hunt. Its only presence is on Latin American drivers' TikTok and Facebook groups.

### Three things are still uncertain

- **Whether platforms will ban accounts.** Drivers keep asking in groups; no confirmed cases so far.

- **Uber rolls out per-km earnings everywhere.** Then Uber rides wouldn't need it, and what's left is the value of one set of floors and traffic-light rules across platforms.

- **Whether Apple will block it.** Reading other apps through screen-recording broadcast is a gray area in review (inferred). On the plus side, it's currently approved and still being updated (1.3.5,10-30).

### If it were you

**My take** : worth a try. Don't build another Spanish version for Android; that space is crowded. The opportunity is the "read offers on iPhone" hurdle, plus regions and driver groups nobody is seriously working yet. But the whole business sits on Uber's and DiDi's screens, so one platform change can hit you.

**Who it fits** : developers who can write iOS and are willing to tackle niche tech like screen-recording broadcast plus on-device text recognition; people with access to driver or courier communities who can find local driver creators. You'd have an edge if you're in Peru or Colombia, or in the US Spanish-speaking driver community or the European Uber/Bolt driver scene. (Whether those markets are open, you'll need to check in the stores yourself; there's a method below.)

**Who it doesn't fit** : anyone who just wants to reskin an Android app (GigU, Viaje Rentable, and Uddi are already lined up, with free versions too); anyone unwilling to take on platform-ban and Apple review risk; anyone who expects organic store search to bring users. The users in this market are on TikTok and in driver groups, not in the store search box.

**How to build it** : pick one market first, search the App Store in the local language for terms like "per km" or "ride calculator." If the first two pages have no usable offer-reading tool, start building. Keep the product to one job: read the offer, show red, yellow, or green against your floors, and make everything else (logging, maps) free. Maintain the offer-reading rules per country and per platform, and make them remotely updatable, as Ruta Rentable does. Price the subscription at a few dollars a month, offer a 3-day trial, and an annual plan paid in installments.

**How to get users** : copy its partners page. Find local driver creators with 10k+ followers, pay a fixed monthly fee, expect one post a week, and don't tie payment to views. Give each creator their own promo code, tag every link with its source so attribution stays clear, and turn the best creator footage into ads. You can launch on Android or iOS first, but on the day iOS goes live, have the same creators post "it works on iPhone now" to capture everyone who was waiting.

**Why act before it's too late** : sooner is better. GigU only reached iOS in October, and it has money and users. If it starts spending seriously in Spanish-speaking markets, this gap closes. And once Uber's per-km earnings display rolls out to all cities, demand from single-platform drivers shrinks.

**What would mean I got it wrong** : (1) GigU's iOS version climbs into the top 50 of Mexico's or Argentina's Business Top Grossing; (2) Uber announces per-km earnings on ride offers across Latin America and DiDi follows; (3) drivers are documented getting banned by Uber or DiDi for using tools like this, or Apple removes Ruta Rentable; (4) the opposite: months from now Ruta Rentable's iOS version is still in the top 7 of its country's chart, and it's still the only one on Spanish-language iPhones, which would mean the hurdle is higher than it looks and it's worth chasing quickly.

## Why Ruta Rentable (iOS id6802318360) made the charts

> One line: a "should I take this ride" calculator for ride-hail and delivery drivers in Latin America. It reads the trip offers from Uber, DiDi, inDrive, Cabify and Bolt, works out the earnings per km and per hour, and tells the driver with a red or green light whether to accept. The iOS version launched only 2026-09-01 ago, but it isn't a new product: the Android version already has about 316k installs. The iOS version brings that paying user base and creator channel over.

### Verdict

- **How it took off** : it was first proven on Android through creator short videos (starting in Argentina, driver creators were already talking about it on TikTok by 2025-10), reaching about 316k installs and #9 in Argentina's Play utilities top grossing. 2026-09 pushed the iOS version, aiming at older Android users and the drivers who kept asking "does it work on iPhone?" The iOS version has only 13 ratings yet sits on the top grossing charts in 7–8 countries. Two reasons: the bar to chart in Latin America's business top grossing is low, and the users arrive with willingness to pay.

- **Differentiation** : there are already many on Android (GigU has 2.8M installs, plus Uddi, Viaje Rentable, Radar de Viajes and others). Its real edge is **iOS** : Apple doesn't let apps read other apps' screens, so it most likely works through system screen recording broadcast plus on-device text recognition (evidence below), and **there is almost no competition on iOS in the Spanish-speaking region** . GigU's iOS version only launched 2026-10-07 and is mainly in Brazil; the small Brazilian iOS apps (Motorista One, Corrida Lucrativa, etc.) are all in Portuguese. Getting iOS working is the direct reason it can chart there. On Android its advantage comes from being first, creator reach and localization (Argentine Spanish, DiDi, Cabify, Rappi), not a big product difference.

### 1. Data

| Metric | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| iOS release | 2026-09-01, developer WAGNER DA SILVA BRAGA (only these 1 apps under their name), currently 1.3.5 (2026-10-30) | iTunes lookup |
| iOS ratings | 13 in total across the region (10-28 of them 12, 11-03 +1); Mexico 8, average 3.0 | Data card / appstore library / App Store Mexico page |
| iOS Business Top Grossing | 11-06: Chile #26, Argentina #39, Mexico #64, Colombia #80, Paraguay #82, Costa Rica #99, Ecuador #113; from 10-28 to 11-06 Argentina has ranged between #24 and #57 | appstore library, chart_rank |
| iOS Business Top Free | Argentina #56–#72, Chile #79–#97, Mexico #121–#140 (on the charts every day, which points to steady organic downloads) | appstore library |
| Android (same product, com.wsb.dalehelperdriver, developer WSB Coding) | Cumulative installs 316,091; last 7 days +3,587 (about 500/day); 10-29 to 11-06 went from 310,300 to 316,091 | googleplay library app_profile / app_day |
| Android Top Grossing | 11-06 Argentina TOOLS top grossing #9, Argentina overall top grossing #95, Mexico TOOLS top grossing #27 | googleplay library chart_rank |
| Pricing | Free to download, subscription unlocks "live scanning"; Android in-app purchases $5.99–$37.99; monthly and annual both have 3-day trials; annual plan can be split into 12 installments | Play library iap_range; App Store description and release notes |
| Official site claims | "+200.000 conductores", "+30% ganancias", "4.5★ Play Store" | rutarentable.app (self-reported, unverified) |

**What's keeping the money coming in** : its total Android installs put it in the top 100 of Argentina's overall top grossing, so subscription revenue is real. Its 13 iOS ratings sit on top grossing charts in 7 countries. That shows, on one hand, that the bar to chart in Latin America's business top grossing is low (a few subscriptions can get you there), and on the other, that iOS users who arrive mostly pay. Older Android users keep asking "does it work on iPhone?" The 10-30 release notes also say "Premium users who get good results will rate you", a deliberate push for reviews.

### II. Competitors

| Competitors | Platform | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Ruta Rentable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GigU (StopClub, Brazil) | Android / iOS | Android 2024-08;iOS 2026-10-07 | Android 2.8M installs, last 7 days +34k, #1 in Brazil's AUTO_AND_VEHICLES top grossing; iOS in Brazil has 283 ratings, business top grossing #75–#120 | The category leader, home turf Brazil / Portuguese, also has a Spanish site gigu.app/es and a US version. iOS just launched, and I haven't seen its ranking in the Spanish-speaking iOS market yet. Much bigger in scale than RR. |
| Gridwise | iOS / Android | 2017 | iOS US store 28.6k ratings, Android 1.2M installs | US driver expense / mileage tool, doesn't read offer popups |
| Mystro Driver | iOS / Android | 2021 | iOS US store 10.6k ratings, top grossing across multiple countries | US multi-platform auto-accept / filtering, English-speaking market |
| Maxymo | iOS / Android | iOS 2025-12 | iOS US store 11 ratings | US offer-reading calculator, English |
| Uddi(uddi-app.com) | Android | Website 2026-09 | Not in our chart database (small) | Nearly identical: floating overlay reads offers, gives accept / consider / decline in three tiers, Android only |
| Viaje Rentable(viajerentable.com.ar) | Android | 2026 | Official site cites 198 Play reviews, 4.8 stars | Argentina, almost the same name, basic version free forever, can enter fuel consumption to calculate net earnings, Android only |
| Radar de Viajes(Cepalabs) | Android | 2026-04 | 29.2k installs | Free, promoted in Mexican Uber driver Facebook groups |
| NetDrive, Copy on TikTok, etc. | Web / Android | — | Small | Manual calculators or similar offer-reading apps |
| A batch of Brazilian iOS apps: Motorista One, Corrida Lucrativa, GiraLucro, Fênix Motorista | iOS | 2026-06 to 09 | Each Brazilian iOS app has 26–98 ratings, business top grossing #28–#181 | Portuguese, Brazil only; this shows the "iOS offer-reading" approach was proven in Brazil 2026 years ago |
| Uber's built-in features | Big-company features | 2025-03 pilots "estimated earnings per active hour"; 2026-05 pilots "estimated earnings per km" in parts of Chile, Argentina and Mexico | — | This is exactly RR's core selling point. Once Uber rolls it out fully, Uber trips won't need it, but DiDi, inDrive and other platforms still do; unified cross-platform thresholds and traffic lights remain its value. |

**Are there competitors?** : yes, and quite a few. On Android this is a crowded niche. On iOS in the Spanish-speaking region it's almost a one-player market for now: in our library's iOS charts for MX, AR, CL and CO, it's the only one of its kind.

### 3. Growth tactics (evidence)

1. **Paid creator program (confirmed)** : rutarentable.app/partners clearly says "Programa de Colaboración Paga": driver creators with 10k+ followers post 1 videos a week, get a fixed monthly fee plus free Premium; open only to Latin America (Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru), paid via ARQ, DollarApp, PayPal and Mercado Pago. The page also says creators' content goes "into our paid ads", meaning creator footage is also being run as ads.

2. **TikTok driver creators (confirmed)** : searching "ruta rentable" on TikHub turns up @fidelculebro (66k followers, several posts from 2025-10, including "use RR code 7DIAS for 7 days free"), @g.floriflor (9k followers, one post with 570k views and another with 210k views), @fran_eme (142k followers, "how to use RR on Uber and DiDi" with 96k views), @uberx.arg (24k followers, Buenos Aires, from 2025-10; posted "RR is now on iPhone" 2026-09-03), @alvaro_didipower.gdl (88k followers, 2026-11-02), @cancuncrack and others. The official account @ruta.rentable has 6,548 followers and 24 posts; its 2025-10-22 post has 220k views and its 2026-08-29 post 216k; 2026-09-01 posted "YA ESTAMOS EN iPHONE".

3. **Promo codes and attribution (confirmed)** : rutarentable.app/cupon uses code RR7DIAS, giving 7 days of trial plus 5% off the annual plan. The Play link carries `referrer=influencer_id%3Drrcupon7dias`, so installs are attributed to each creator. One TikTok post saying "DM for cupón, get 7 days free" has 26k views.

4. **Word of mouth in Facebook driver groups (confirmed to exist)** : in Uber driver groups there are posts like "recommend Ruta Rentable, will DiDi ban my account?", "is there something like Ruta Rentable that's free?", "is there a Premium APK?" It's already the go-to name in driver circles.

5. **Android users migrating to iOS (highly likely)** : early App Store reviews say "Gracias por subirla a la App Store" and "Sigo teniendo la falla ya conocida" (still have that well-known bug), showing the reviewers are long-time Android users; the official site used to say "Not compatible: iOS".

6. **In-app retention and recovery (confirmed, see release notes)** : win-back discount within 72 hours of cancelling, payment-failure reminders, annual plan split into 12 installments, and review requests only to Premium users.

7. **Meta ads** : our metaads library doesn't track its Page (not tracked, which doesn't mean it isn't advertising); the partners page itself says it runs paid ads. Unverified.

8. No press coverage found; the X corpus (x-radar, last 90 days) doesn't mention it, and it hasn't appeared on HN or PH.

### 4. Why it made the list

- **Real pain, willing to pay** : Latin American drivers make their living by grabbing rides, and the countdown on DiDi and Uber offers gives only a few seconds, not enough to work out the earnings per km. A tool costs a few dollars a month, and one good ride pays it back. Argentina's Android top grossing hit #95, so plenty of people are paying.

- **Drivers' blogs are a natural fit** : the target user is the driver himself, who opens the app in the car to demo a green ride and a red ride. The content is the ad. A paid creator program plus discount-code attribution turned this channel into something you can buy.

- **Nobody does it on iOS** : on Android, screen reading can use the accessibility service; on iOS you're stuck with the awkward route of screen-recording broadcast plus on-device text recognition. Evidence: reviews say that with it running you "can't listen to music, there's no sound", which is the typical side effect of a screen-recording broadcast taking over audio; support replies ask you to "set up shared notifications per the tutorial, then press play"; the App Store description says "doesn't save photos or videos, all analysis happens on the iPhone itself". This technical hurdle keeps most Spanish-language competitors out, so on iOS it has essentially no rivals (inference, no code-level evidence obtained).

- **Localization done diligently** : the update notes show per-country tweaks to the "ride-reading rules" (Ecuador, Dominican Republic), Rappi (Argentina, Colombia), Lyft and miles, and US Uber Eats. The rules are hot-updatable server-side ("ajustar la lectura de cada país más rápido").

### V. Visibility

**It's circulating in small circles** : Latin American drivers on TikTok and Facebook groups all know it, and discussions like "is there a free alternative" and "cracked APK" have already appeared; but revenue isn't public (neither TrustMRR nor the founder has shared it), there's no media coverage, and nobody on X is talking about it.

### VI. Copycats

- Viaje Rentable (Argentina, name almost copied, positioned as "basic version free forever", Android)

- Uddi (2026-09 website live, features and copy highly similar, Android)

- Radar de Viajes (2026-04, free, promoted in Mexican Uber groups)

- GigU and the small iOS apps from Brazil in the Portuguese-speaking region are parallel competitors; they don't count as copying it.

### 7. What to take from it

- "Get Android working first, then do Apple": for the same group of drivers, one "we're on iPhone now" post can capture all the iOS users who've been waiting. The bar to chart in Latin American business-category Top Grossing is low; a few dozen paying users can get you on it.

- A vertical occupational audience (drivers, couriers) plus paid creators who post weekly (paying a fixed monthly fee, not per view), discount-code attribution, and a 3-day trial with installment annual billing: this playbook can be moved to Brazil, Peru, US Spanish-speaking drivers, and food-delivery couriers.

- Building screen-reading on iOS, which others think can't be done (screen-recording broadcast plus on-device text recognition), is itself a moat.

### 8. What's still uncertain

- The specific technical implementation of iOS ride-reading, and whether Apple will block it during review (currently inference).

- How big the impact on demand will be once Uber's per-kilometer earnings display is rolled out broadly.

- Whether platforms will ban accounts for using it (driver groups keep asking, no hard evidence seen).

- "200k drivers" and "+30% earnings" are self-reported; the Android listing date 2026-02-23 was very likely reset (TikTok already had its videos on 2025-10).

- Whether it's running Meta / TikTok ads and how much: not found.

- The developer name is a Brazilian name, the contact email is rutarentable.ar@gmail.com, and "dale" in the package name is Argentine slang; operations are probably in Argentina, unverified.
