# Snap a photo and list it on Vinted: a seller-built AI listing tool that cracked Europe's shopping Top Grossing chart with two TikTok accounts

**What it is** An app for Vinted secondhand clothing sellers: take a photo, and the AI writes the title, description, size, and suggested price, can generate an AI model try-on image, then walks you through filling it into Vinted.

**Why it took off** Starting in June, the founder ran two TikTok accounts himself, posting short videos in a seller's voice ("no more typing," "the last page reveals") that reached about 3M views. A hard paywall with a €4.99 weekly subscription meant that on Europe's low-barrier shopping chart, a small number of users was enough to reach the top 10.

**C** **How you could follow** Don't build another Vinted version. Target a secondhand platform with fewer add-on tools (like Kleinanzeigen, Wallapop, Leboncoin, or Mercari), do text listings and size measurement only, and copy its two-account daily TikTok playbook and weekly-subscription paywall.

C grade: The user-acquisition playbook is clear and cheap, so it's worth studying. But the Vinted niche already has a dozen or more look-alike products, Vendly is earlier and bigger, and the app is tiny. Its core selling point, AI photo editing, also violates Vinted's photo rules, so copying it isn't worth it. Few people know about it yet

Vintly is an app built by a Vinted seller for other Vinted sellers: take a photo of a garment and it writes the title, description, size, and suggested price, and can even put the clothing on an AI model. The iOS app launched Sep 17, and by Nov 6 it was already No. 2 on the shopping Top Grossing charts in the Croatian and Portuguese App Stores, and No. 10 in Germany. But it didn't win on product; it won on the founder posting TikToks every day, plus a hard weekly-subscription paywall. Over a dozen companies are already in this lane, so copying it isn't worth it. What's worth learning is how it drives user acquisition.

### One video with 380k views, and the most-liked comment under it

On Aug 2026 25, the TikTok account @vintly4 posted a video with only one line of text: "No More typing." Take a photo, and the listing is written, no typing needed. The video later reached 387k views and 17k likes (TikTok, 11-06).

The second most-liked comment has 127 likes:

> Then you get banned because Vinted can see it's ai.

Another reads: "I'm afraid it changed something I didn't notice, and then a buyer complains." Scrolling further, the most common questions are "Is it free?" "How much does it cost?" "What's the app called?"

That comment section pretty much captures the whole business: the pain point is real and sellers want the solution, but they ask about price first, and they're worried about getting banned.

### What it is

Vinted is Europe's largest secondhand clothing marketplace. Every item an individual seller lists requires photos, a title, a description, brand, size, condition, and a price, and buyers keep messaging to ask things like "how long is it?" Vintly wants to compress all of that into a single photo:

- **AI listing** : generates the title, description, brand, size, and condition from a photo;

- **Suggested price** : gives a resale price range;

- **Show on Model** : has an AI model "wear" the garment; **Studio** : swaps in a clean background and adjusts lighting;

- **Post to Vinted** : walks you through filling each field into Vinted.

The developer is Fahd Barro. Vintly is the only app under his name on the App Store. The website credits "Fahad, founder of Vintly," and he says he also sells on Vinted. Besides iOS, there's an Android version and a web version (vintly.xyz). The app itself is English-only, but the German store listing is titled "Vintly: Kleidung verkaufen" (sell clothing), with German screenshots and copy.

### Where the money comes from: try first, then pay

价格(App Store 德区,11-06):周订阅 €4.99,月订阅 €12.99(3 天试用),年订阅 €99.99;也可以买点数,10 点 €1.99,150 点 €16.99。

The paywall is hard. The official site says new users get one free AI preview in the onboarding flow, after which you have to pay. Nov 2 Italian store one-star review:

> non puoi fare nulla se non cacci 13€, folle — you can't do anything unless you pay 13 euros, crazy.

Some people on TikTok are also commenting "why cant i just use it for free". The people who will pay are buying "saves time, sells fast": a five-star review from the German store says they didn't believe it at first, then listed a hat and sold it in 5 minutes. "game changer".

### Charted, but actually small

| Metric | Metric | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| Shopping Top Grossing | #2 in Croatia and Portugal, #4 in Poland and Czechia, #5 in Austria and Denmark, #6 in Italy, #10 in Germany and Spain, #26 in the UK, #28 in France; in Poland it was at #11-02 and #11-03, peaking at #1 | App Store,11-06 |
| Countries charted | About 29 | App Store,11-06 |
| Ratings count, all storefronts | 36 (10-28 of them 29), with 0–2 new per day | App Store,11-06 |
| German store ratings | 11, all five-star | App Store,11-06 |

The chart ranks look good, but the rating count is very low, because **the Shopping Top Grossing chart has a very low bar** . Big apps like Vinted and Amazon don't use Apple's in-app purchase, so they don't appear on this chart. 11-06 In the German Shopping Top Grossing top 12, 4 are parcel-tracking apps, #9 is an eBay auction-bidding tool, and #11 is a wallet/voucher tool. In countries like Croatia, Portugal and Czechia, Vintly has only 0 to 2 ratings and still makes the top 5.

So the chart only shows it has steady subscription revenue, and the scale is likely small: a rough guess of a few thousand euros a month (inference, unverified). The trend doesn't show a surge either: in Germany it dropped to #35 from 10-31, then came back to #10; in Italy it rose from #21 to #6; in the Netherlands it fell steadily from #34 to #122.

### Where users come from: the founder's own two TikTok accounts

I found no evidence it has run Meta or TikTok ads, no media coverage, and no mentions on X in the past two months. Nearly all users come from short video:

| Account | Followers | Posts | Combined views |
|---|---|---|---|
| @vintly.xyz | 1,820 | 37 | About 2.05M |
| @vintly4 | 1,031 | 39 | About 920k |

The two accounts together have about 3M views but fewer than 3,000 followers. These accounts weren't built to grow followers; they were built so each video gets its own shot at the recommendation feed. The first video was posted by Jun 9, more than three months before the iOS launch, when traffic was being sent to the web version.

Only a few formats work, all in the voice of a Vinted seller:

- **One-line pain points** : "Never Typ again 😤 just take a Photo -> Done" (6-13.3M views), "No More typing" (8-25.4M), "Third buyer this week: 'How long is the tee?' 😭" (the third buyer this week asking how long the tee is);

- **Carousel with a reveal on the last slide** : "Last slide is how" (10-30.4M), "How? Last slide" (11-1.18M). The earlier slides show items that "sold right after listing", and only the last slide reveals the app;

- **Result-first** : "Sold it in 4 seconds. Send this to whoever still types their listings" (4 seconds to sell, send to a friend who still hand-types listings, 6-24.1M).

Since late October both accounts have posted almost daily. Most get only a few thousand views, with an occasional hit every few days. The bio reads "On AppStore: Vintly App".

There are two secondary channels: Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts repost the same videos. The official site has about 15 search-driven pages: a title generator, a description generator, a price calculator, a German-language "sell on Vinted with AI" page, a "7 steps to sell old clothes fast" guide, and a self-written comparison with competitors. How much traffic these bring is not visible from outside.

### Who it's competing with

Over 2026 years, more than a dozen players have launched in this space, with names that mostly start with "Vint":

| Product | Platform | Scale | Compared with Vintly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vendly (French developer) | iOS, listed 2026-07-23 | 268 ratings across all stores, +7 in the last 93 days, best Shopping Top Grossing rank #1, France #11-06 at #6 | Same thing, launched two months earlier, with more than 7× Vintly's ratings; it is the leader in this iOS niche |
| PreLoved AI | iOS, listed 2025-08 | 48 ratings, UK #15 | Earlier, aimed at the UK, text-focused |
| VintSnap, AI Listing Assistant | iOS, listed 2026-04 | Single-digit to low double-digit ratings | Same positioning, never took off |
| Kleidio, AutoLister AI, Dotb | Web + Chrome extension | Unknown | Fills in the Vinted form directly on desktop; Dotb also replies to buyer messages and handles offers |
| WeartyAI | Web + Android | Unknown | No subscription, just credit packs ($2.99 and up for 30 credits), covering Vinted, Depop, eBay, OLX, Allegro |
| Vintefy, VintDress, Vintylook, Vinting, VintHelper | Mostly web | Unknown | Similar AI photo and copy tools |
| ChatGPT | General | — | Can write copy, but doesn't fill forms or set prices |

Vintly calls itself "native to mobile + walks you through the form", but Vendly and the others are doing the same thing on mobile. Differentiation is not why it got to where it is.

### The biggest risk is Vinted itself

Vinted's catalog rules (October version of 2026) are clear: photos must be taken by the seller, must show the actual item, and retouching is not allowed. Vintly's headline features, "AI model try-on" photos and "Studio" backgrounds, are strictly outside those rules. r/vinted has posts like "AI is ruining Vinted" and "STOP USING AI ON YOUR LISTINGS"; the comment "you'll get banned" in the TikTok replies is second-most liked.

On the other side, the platforms may move on their own: Depop launched "one photo, AI-generated listing" in September 2024, and eBay has something similar. Vinted currently has only a customer-service bot and no AI listing writer (according to a third-party check of its help center in October 2026), but if it ships one, the copy part of these dozen-plus tools goes away at once.

### If it were you

**Grade C: worth learning from, not worth copying.** This space is already crowded. Vendly got there first and is bigger, and its core selling point runs against platform rules. It ranks high on the chart because the chart's bar is low, not because the revenue is big.

**Who it suits:** One or two people who already sell on a secondhand platform and are willing to post short videos every day. You know the seller's pain points, so your videos can sound like a real person talking.

**Who it doesn't suit:** Anyone wanting to build yet another Vinted version (there are over a dozen already); anyone unwilling to appear on camera, post daily, or rely on organic App Store traffic; anyone who wants AI model photos as the selling point (platform rules don't allow it).

**How to do it:** Don't build the 13th Vinted tool. Find a platform the platform itself hasn't built for and where third-party tools are still few. Germany's Kleinanzeigen, Spain's Wallapop, France's Leboncoin and Japan's Mercari are all worth a look (which ones are empty you'd have to count yourself on the App Store and TikTok; I haven't verified each one here). Start with text: photo → title, description, size, suggested price, then add a "measure it" helper that answers the buyer's most common question, "how long and how wide?". Don't do AI photo editing. Charge the way it does: one free try, then a weekly subscription plus credit packs.

**How to get users:** Copy its TikTok playbook. Open two accounts, post in a seller's voice with one-line pain points like "another buyer asking the length 😭" or "sold in 4 seconds", make carousels, and reveal the tool on the last slide. Post daily; one hit every few days is enough. Start posting before launch and send traffic to the web version first. Write the store listing title as search terms in the local language, like its German "Kleidung verkaufen".

**When to start:** Secondhand platforms peak when people clear out their wardrobes, with a wave in January and one in spring. Get the accounts going by mid-December to catch the January wardrobe-clearing wave (inference).

**What would show you're wrong:** ① Vinted launches its own AI listing feature, or starts mass-banning listings made with AI tools. Then this whole path closes. ② The reverse: Vintly's or Vendly's rating counts climb to several thousand in January and they enter the overall chart. That would mean the market is bigger than it looks, and there's still room in Vinted. ③ You post 30 videos on your chosen platform using the same TikTok playbook and none pass 50k views. Then that platform's sellers may not be on TikTok.

### One line

Vintly is an AI listing assistant for Vinted sellers: snap a photo of a garment and it generates a title, description, brand, size, condition and suggested price. It also makes "on an AI model" images and studio-background shots, then fills the fields into Vinted in one tap. Solo indie developer Fahd Barro (the website credits "Fahad, founder of Vintly" and says he is also a Vinted seller) built the app alone.

### Verdict

It has reached the Shopping Top Grossing chart in about 29 European countries, driven by three things stacked together: **① The founder ran two TikTok accounts himself from 2026-06, posting about 76 short videos aimed at Vinted sellers, roughly 3M views in total, and started pulling in users before the app launched; ② A hard paywall plus a weekly subscription (€4.99/week) means a small number of users can produce visible revenue; ③ Shopping Top Grossing charts have a low bar in small countries and even in Germany (the #9 spot in the German store is an eBay snipe-bidding tool, #11 is a wallet/card app)** . The product itself is nearly identical to a dozen-plus rivals in the category, so differentiation is not what drove it up the charts. By scale it is much smaller than the similar app Vendly.

### 1. Its data

| Metric | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| iOS release | 2026-09-17, version 1.0.3 (2026-10-20) | iTunes lookup |
| Android | Yes, package name xyz.vintly.app; install count unknown (not in our googleplay library) | Google Play page / googleplay library |
| Web version | vintly.xyz has a web version (sign-up at /auth); TikTok was driving traffic to the site from 2026-06-09, before the iOS launch | vintly.xyz, TikHub |
| App Store overall rating | 36 (10-28 are 29), +7 over the last 6 days; German store 11 ratings, 5 stars overall | Data card, iTunes lookup DE |
| Self-reported in-app rating | 318 reviews, average 4.6 (256 five-star, 16 one-star) | vintly.xyz/reviews (self-reported, unverified) |
| Pricing | Premium Weekly €4.99, Monthly €12.99, Yearly €99.99; Credits 10/€1.99 … 150/€16.99; monthly subscription with a 3-day trial | App Store DE page |
| Top Grossing chart (Shopping category) | 11-06: HR 2, PT 2, PL 4, CZ 4, AT 5, DK 5, IT 6, DE 10, ES 10, GB 26, FR 28; PL 11-02, 11-03 once reached #1 | appstore library app_day |
| Trend | DE dropped to 35 after 10-31, then climbed back to 10; IT rose from 21 to 6; NL fell steadily from 34 to 122; overall it hovered in the top 10 in small countries with no clear surge | appstore library |

**Chart bar:** 11-06 The German Shopping Top Grossing top 12: 4 package-tracking apps, DeineTierwelt, Shpock, My Movies, MarkenDetektive, the eBay snipe-bidding tool (#9), Vintly (#10), Walletsmith (#11). Large apps like Vinted and Amazon take payments through the web or their own systems, so their revenue is not on this chart. That is why a few dozen subscriptions can reach the top 10. The bar is even lower in small countries like HR, PT and CZ (the data card shows Vintly with only 0–2 ratings there). Conclusion: the chart reflects "steady subscription revenue", but absolute scale should be very small (rough estimate: monthly revenue in the thousands of euros, unverified).

**The paywall is hard:** an Italian 1-star review reads "non puoi fare nulla se non cacci 13€" (you can't do anything unless you pay 13 euros, 2026-11-02); the website says "try the AI preview once free during onboarding," and after that you need a subscription or credits. The weekly subscription plus hard wall is why it could reach the Top Grossing chart with so few ratings.

### II. Competitors

The same job (AI listing generation for Vinted and secondhand clothing sellers) is already very crowded, and most of these products appeared around the same time in the first half of 2026:

| Competitors | Where | Launched | Scale | How Vintly differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vendly: Revente seconde main(JULES YANIS BOURGEOIS) | iOS | 2026-07-23 | Combined ratings across all stores 268, +7 over the last 93 days; best Shopping Top Grossing rank 1,27 in one country (appstore library); FR Shopping Top Grossing 11-06 at #6 | A French developer focused on the French-speaking market. Same form factor but launched two months earlier, with about 7× Vintly's rating count, making it the leader for this category on iOS |
| PreLoved AI: Vinted Listings(Daniel Steel) | iOS | 2025-08-06 | Ratings combined across 48,28 charting countries; LT #2, LU #3, GB #15 | An earlier pioneer focused on the UK; leans toward text generation and draft saving, with no on-model images and no auto form-filling |
| AI Listing Assistant(Angel App Publishing) | iOS | 2026-04-16 | Ratings in about 16,12 charting countries; AT #33 | General-purpose listing assistant, not specialized for Vinted |
| VintSnap: Sell on Vinted Fast(AGENT M SP Z O O) | iOS | 2026-04-16 | Ratings in 4,8 charting countries; best rank #10 | Same positioning, a Polish company, with almost no traction |
| SellRaze | iOS | 2023-09-11 | Combined ratings across 50,407,86 charting countries | A major US player doing eBay/multi-platform cross-listing, not Vinted-specific |
| Hero / Flippr / PrimeLister / Crosslist AI | iOS | 2024–2026 | Ratings in the 2k range (Hero 2,071, Flippr 1,956, PrimeLister 2,398) | A US reseller cross-listing tool for eBay/Poshmark/Mercari, essentially not covering European Vinted |
| Vinted Finder: Style Scanner | iOS | 2026-07-16 | Ratings in 291,65 countries | Buyer-side: photo search for matching items, not a seller tool |
| Kleidio | Web + Chrome | Not verified | Unknown | German-language, DACH pricing, a desktop extension that fills Vinted forms |
| AutoLister AI, Dotb | Web + Chrome | Not verified | Unknown | Desktop extension; Dotb also handles buyer messages and automated offer negotiation |
| Vintefy, VintDress, Vintylook, Vinting, VintHelper, Vintsnap (Four Star Ventures) | Web / iOS | 2026 | Unknown (Vintsnap iOS rating 0) | Me-too Vinted AI image/copy tools; Vintylook was named by Science Feedback in connection with AI-faked images |
| ChatGPT / Copilot | Big-company features | — | — | General chat tools write the copy, with YouTube tutorials; no form-filling and no pricing |
| eBay "magical listing" (photo-to-AI listing) | Big-company features | 2023–2024 | eBay-wide | Built into the platform; Vinted itself has no similar official feature as far as we can tell (unverified) |

Vintly published its own competitor comparison (vintly.xyz/guides/ai-tools-for-vinted-sellers, 2026-10-23), naming Kleidio, AutoLister, PreLoved AI and Dotb, and positioning itself as "native mobile + guided form-filling".

### 3. Growth tactics

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Self-run TikTok accounts (two handles) | @vintly.xyz: 1,820 followers, 37 posts, about 2.05M views combined; @vintly4:1,031: 39 followers, 920k views. Hits: "No More typing" (8-25.4M), "Last slide is how" (10-30.4M), "This is How" (10-22.4M), "Never Typ again" (6-13.3M), "How? Last slide" (11-1.18M). The format is a Vinted seller pain point + photo carousel with a "reveal the tool on the last slide" payoff, and the bio says "On AppStore: Vintly App". The first post went up on 2026-06-09, and from late October they were posting almost daily. | Yes (TikHub) |
| Instagram / YouTube Shorts | Instagram @vintly.xyz posts Reels (from 9-18); YouTube channel @Vintly-xyz posts "vintly app on appstore #shorts" | Yes (search results) |
| SEO / tool pages | The website has about 15 landing pages: vinted-listing-generator, vinted-title-generator, vinted-description-generator, price/profit calculator, listing analyzer, the German page vinted-ki-listing-erstellen, guides (titles, photography, pricing, why items don't sell), "Vinted resale report 2026", and competitor comparison pages | Yes (website); rankings and traffic not verified |
| Localized App Store listings (ASO) | The German store title uses "Kleidung verkaufen" (sell clothes) instead of the English name; screenshots and copy are in German (the app itself only supports English) | Yes (iTunes lookup DE vs US) |
| Directory sites | SaaSHub has comparison pages for Vintly vs Vinteo and Plus Looks | Yes |
| Paid ads | The metaads library has no Vintly advertiser; in the tiktokads list Vintly's status is no_ads (covers European TikTok ads only) | No: no ads seen |
| X / HN / Reddit / press | x-radar: 60 posts in the last 0 days; no Reddit threads or press coverage seen | No |

Why users come and why they pay: Vinted sellers find writing descriptions, measuring items, shooting photos, and pricing repetitive and annoying ("Third buyer this week: 'How long is the tee?'", "Never type again"), and the TikTok seller crowd is exactly who these pain-point posts reach. People pay because of a hard paywall plus a low weekly subscription bar (€4.99), and sellers treat it as a cost of a "money-making tool". A German review, "put a hat on for 5 minutes and it sold, game changer", is a typical retention reason.

### 4. Differentiation

- Claimed differences: phone-native (competitors are mostly Chrome extensions or web apps), "Show on Model" AI model photos, Studio backgrounds, a guided "Post to Vinted" form flow, Deal Sniper for finding underpriced items, and a localized store page for German-speaking markets.

- In practice: Vendly, PreLoved AI, VintSnap and other iOS competitors offer nearly the same features, and Vendly is earlier and bigger. Differentiation isn't why it took off; **the real reasons are the founder making TikTok content himself + a hard weekly-subscription wall + the low bar of the Shopping bestseller chart** .

- Risks: the Vinted community strongly dislikes AI photos (r/vinted threads like "AI is ruining Vinted" and "STOP USING AI ON YOUR LISTINGS"), Vinted can take down listings with AI images and restrict accounts, and Vinted's rules require original unedited photos, which Vintly's own guides admit. Core selling points like "Show on Model" could be cut off by platform policy at any time.

### 5. Visibility and copycats

- Revenue isn't public (TrustMRR has no entry), there are 0 discussions on X, and no press coverage; its exposure is only inside TikTok's Vinted seller circles. It's a product "few people know about yet", but the category is already crowded with similar products and isn't a blue ocean.

- Copycats: none specifically copying Vintly were seen; the whole "Vinted AI listing" category has produced a dozen-plus players in 2026 year (Vendly, VintSnap, Vintsnap, Vintefy, VintDress, Vintylook, Vinting, VintHelper, Kleidio, etc.), many with "Vint" in the name.

### 6. What to borrow

1. Pick a seller pain point on a big C2C platform (Vinted Europe, 100M+ installs) and build a "plugin" tool for it, something the platform hasn't built or is slow to ship.

2. The founder runs two TikTok accounts personally, uses a "pain point + reveal on the last slide" photo carousel format, and posts daily to test hits; hundreds of thousands of views are possible without ad spend.

3. A hard paywall + weekly subscription + credit packs, combined with the low bar of the Shopping bestseller chart in small European countries, means few users are enough to look like they're "charting".

4. Localize store titles by country (German search terms for the German store), then add SEO tool pages.

### 7. Uncertainties

- Real download and revenue scale (the App Store rating is only 36, but the website self-reports 318 on-site ratings, suggesting combined web/Android/iOS users far exceed the rating count; none of this is verified).

- Android install numbers.

- How many TikTok views convert into iOS downloads, and whether there is paid acquisition outside our data (e.g., Apple Search Ads, TikTok Spark Ads).

- Whether Vinted will ban AI model photos or auto-fill tools; this is its biggest platform risk.
