> Korean drama TV / Hanxiaoquan kept getting pulled from iOS. In November, new K-drama releases and a Hanxiaoquan outage hit at the same time. It took the name that looks most like the original, stuffed titles with "Korean drama," and caught people searching the App Store for a replacement.

# "Hanquan TV", a ¥18 one-time purchase: when the Korean drama app Hanju TV was pulled, a wave of copycats took over its iPhone users

**What it is** : a China-store app disguised as a "drama tracking tool" and listed under Utilities. In practice it streams Korean dramas and sells a ¥18 lifetime membership.

**Why it's trending** : Hanju TV / Hanquan Xiaoquan has been repeatedly pulled from iOS, and in November a drama release wave and a Hanquan Xiaoquan outage coincided. It uses a name that looks like the real app and a title stuffed with "Korean drama" keywords, catching people searching for a replacement in store search.

**E** **How you could take a similar approach** : I don't recommend it. What's worth learning is the signal: when a top app gets pulled from iOS, a group of users is left searching for keywords. The legitimate way to capture them is a real watch calendar or a "where to watch Korean dramas" aggregator, showing up for the same searches at those moments.

E grade: pirated sources, disguised to pass review, with top-ups that don't arrive. The account can be banned at any time, and a same-name package has already been pulled. The real Hanquan Xiaoquan's own alt app (Hanxiao Drama) is growing 10 times faster than this one, and a string of similar apps is competing for the same users. Few people know about it yet

"Hanquan TV - Korean Movies Follow You Around" calls itself a "pure drama tracking tool" in the China App Store and sits in Utilities. In practice it is an app that streams Korean dramas and sells a ¥18 lifetime membership. It reached the top of the free Utilities chart not because it's good, but because the veteran Korean drama app "Hanju TV / Hanquan Xiaoquan" kept disappearing from iPhones, and each time it left behind people actively searching the store. Below: how it catches those users, who is competing with it, and why you shouldn't copy this.

### Nov 4, two one-star reviews

2026 Nov 4, two one-star reviews appeared in the China store comments for 韩圈TV: "It freezes, a 1-minute video makes you watch for 1 hours" and "Membership didn't go through, can't watch anything." Earlier reviews said "can't zoom" and "garbage." On Sep 23 one review repeated "membership top-up didn't go through" three times, and on Sep 15 the top review was titled "Don't download, you need membership to watch." All 6 written reviews are one-star (App Store reviews, as of 11-06).

The same day, someone on Xiaohongshu posted "What's wrong with Hanquan Xiaoquan? All the recently updated TV dramas have disappeared," and the next day someone asked, "Two days now, when will it be back?"

Put these together and you have the reason Hanquan TV climbed this week.

### What it is

The store page has only a few lines of description: "Drama highlights: quickly note the heartfelt lines and high-energy scenes" and "Watch management: clearly shows your drama watch list." The privacy label says "No data collected." The title, though, is packed with keywords: "Hanquan TV - Korean Movies Follow You Around - Tons of Korean drama highlights, quick notes, and watch management."

After downloading, users see a video feed and a membership wall. There is one in-app purchase: "Hanying Xiangsui lifetime membership, ¥18.00." The developer is an individual account named "Yan Bai" with only this app. The privacy policy and developer website are just a Tencent Docs page. Version 1.1 shipped in September 9 with release notes saying "fixed some crash bugs," and there have been no updates since. The app was submitted to Apple as a tracking tool, and after launch it switched to serving video content from its server, so it doesn't need new releases (inferred).

### Scale

| Date | China store rating count | Utilities free chart |
|---|---|---|
| 10-31 | 126 | #177 |
| 11-03 | 180 |  |
| 11-05 | 224 |  |
| 11-06 | 276 (Apple's API showed 313 that day) | #61 |

In the last 7 days it picked up 150 new ratings, and on Nov 6 alone +52 (App Store, 11-06). It has never charted in the overall or Top Grossing lists, so revenue can't be estimated.

The average is strange: 313 ratings averaging 4.5 stars, yet the 6 that left written reviews are all one-star. Either it prompts for ratings inside the app, or it's buying star-only ratings with no text (inference, unverified).

### Where the demand comes from: a Korean-drama app that keeps 'moving house'

"Hanju TV" was the most-used Korean drama aggregator app in China, later renamed "Hanxiaoquan." On iPhone it was delisted, renamed, and re-listed many times. Xiaohongshu holds a full record of users 'moving house' with it:

- 2023 Jan 30: "韩剧TV officially renamed! Finally can download", 11k likes;

- Dec 27, 2025: "Recently the old iOS version of Han Xiaoquan also went down… time to move to a new app again?" 276 likes;

- In 2026 Oct 11, a "K-drama TV recovery tutorial" post got 430 likes, saying "the Apple app can't be found in the store... it shows the app is no longer available on the App Store," and showing people how to reinstall an older version with Aisi Assistant;

- Nov 4 and 5, updated Hanxiaoquan episodes disappeared.

Douyin users put it more bluntly: "How many names does Hanju TV have? A new name and a new app every day." Hanxiaoquan's old iOS version can no longer be found on the China store today.

So on iPhone there's a group of people who've paid for and gotten used to Hanju TV, who every so often go search the store for "Hanju TV," "Hanquan," or "Hanxiaoquan." November is also a Korean drama new-season month. Over ten new shows, including *The Queen of Marriage* premiering Nov 4, were on the watch calendar, and Hanxiaoquan happened to be malfunctioning. Hanquan TV's ratings accelerated from Nov 4 to 6, and the timing matches (inference).

### How it catches these people

**Names.** "Hanquan TV" sits among "Hanxiaoquan," "Hanju TV," and "Hanquan Theater." On Xiaohongshu, May 20 had a post titled "Which one is the real one?" (118 likes). Users can't tell them apart anymore, and that confusion is its traffic.

**Store search.** Titles are stuffed with "Korean drama," "binge-watching," "highlights." The "You might also like" section under its store page is all lookalikes: Hanquan Circle, Netflix Cat, Haohaokanju Club, Hanvideo. They compete for the same search terms and the same users.

**Category.** Video apps need approval to list in the China store, so it's filed under Utilities as a "record" tool and gets around that.

**Price.** Hanxiaoquan's official memberships are monthly and yearly cards, and Xiaohongshu is full of posts about shared accounts and resold passes. Hanquan TV unlocks with a one-time ¥18 purchase, the price of a milk tea, so it's easy to pay on impulse. Almost all the bad reviews are "paid but didn't get access" or "can't watch." It earns one-off money and doesn't care whether people stay.

There's another detail: as early as May 2026, Xiaohongshu already had several "Hanquan TV warnings" ("bought permanent membership," "after topping up, can't use membership normally"), nearly four months before this app was listed. The name "Hanquan TV" was probably already run through other packages and delisted, and this time it was relisted under a new account (inference). Two sister packages that appeared alongside it can no longer be found in the store today.

### Who it's competing with

| Product | Launched | Scale (China store, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hanju Little Drama - a one-stop Korean entertainment hub | 2026-09-29 | 3,280 ratings, +7 in the last 1,578 days, Productivity free chart #13 | A Xiaohongshu post with 3,984 likes says it's the new version of Hanxiaoquan and that you can log in with your original phone number. Its growth rate is 10× Hanquan TV's. |
| Hanju Circle - latest Korean drama episodes | 2026-10-26 | 188 ratings, Lifestyle free chart #36 | Same playbook, listed later and growing faster; some on Douyin call it the renamed old Hanju TV |
| Hanju Circle - top-rated Korean drama lists, reviews, and journal records | 2026-09-29 | 14 ratings | The same 'journal record' disguise, with 10-02 already having warning posts |
| Little Persimmon Video | 2026-07-16 | 2,540 ratings | All-genre video, also called 'watch log' |
| Ju Wu Ba (Drama Overlord) | 2026-08-04 | 744 ratings | Korean, American, Japanese, and Thai dramas |
| Netflix Cat | 2026-02-13 | 2,959 ratings | Rides the 'Netflix' name and has lasted longer |
| Tencent Video, iQIYI, Youku | Already around | Top players | Legitimate, but few Korean shows, slow updates, and requires membership |

The most important thing is the first row: the real Hanxiaoquan is also relisting under disguises, and it can be logged into with old accounts. Among people looking for a 'Hanju TV replacement,' Hanquan TV doesn't even make the top two.

### If it were you

**One-line verdict:** Don't touch it. This isn't a product. It's pirated sources plus disguised approval plus a one-time fee. Accounts can be banned and packages pulled at any time, the same name has already been pulled at least once, and the real app's own disguises are still competing for the same users.

**Who it suits:** No indie developer or small team should take this on. The barrier isn't technical. It's a willingness to take on copyright, fake listing, and consumer dispute risk.

**Who it doesn't suit:** Anyone who wants to build a product that lasts and is willing to put their own name on it.

**What's worth learning:** Not the tactic, the signal. "A major app gets delisted or breaks on iOS" instantly creates a group of people with a clear search term who are willing to pay. Whoever appears first on the first screen of results catches them. The legitimate version is the compliant half: for example, a genuinely useful show-tracking calendar and highlights tool (what Hanquan TV claims to be), or an aggregator of where to watch new Korean shows across China's licensed platforms, appearing for the same search terms at the same moments. This kind of thing can catch the traffic, but it's hard to pull in ¥18 in one go the way piracy does, so whether it makes money is a separate question.

**How to get users:** The compliant way: store search ("Korean drama," "binge-watch," "new shows"), show calendars and "where to watch X" posts on Xiaohongshu, and posting right when each season's Korean shows launch and whenever Hanxiaoquan goes down.

**When to move:** No time window is worth rushing for. The next time Hanxiaoquan breaks on iOS, another batch of people will come searching for it.

**What would prove this read wrong:** If Hanquan TV and the Hanju Circle packages are still alive and their ratings still climbing six months from now, Apple is basically not policing this kind of play, and the grey business lasts longer than this analysis suggests (though the risk still lands on the developer). Conversely, if Hanxiaoju takes all the growth from these small disguised apps once it gets volume, that means users trust the original, and the window for riding the name was narrow from the start.

Data and sources: App Store China storefront pages, rating counts and charts (10-31 to 11-06), reviews (9-15 to 11-04); public Xiaohongshu and Douyin posts about the Hanju TV / Hanxiaoquan renaming, delisting, recovery, and the "Hanquan TV warnings" (2023-01 to 2026-11-05); Hanju TV Weibo November watch calendar. Why the average doesn't match the text reviews, whether ads are being bought, whether these packages belong to the same team, and revenue scale are all unverified.

Where users come from

- **Verified** **App Store search + name-riding (Hanquan TV ≈ Hanxiaoquan / Hanju TV)** : titles stuffed with 'Korean drama' keywords; the 'You might also like' section under the store page is all lookalike disguises; Xiaohongshu 'Which one is the real one?' (118 likes) shows users can't tell the genuine app apart

- **Verified** **Platform event: Hanju TV / Hanxiaoquan pulled from iOS and down** : RedNote 2025-12 "the old iOS version of Hanxiaoquan is down too" (276 likes), 2026-10-11 recovery guide (430 likes), 11-04/05 "what happened to Hanxiaoquan, still down after two days?"; Douyin "Hanju TV keeps changing names and apps"

- **Verified** **Disguised category to pass review (tools category + logging-tool copy)** : the description calls it a viewing-log tool and privacy labels say no data collected, yet reviews and Xiaohongshu feedback describe a video stream with a membership paywall; no new build since 1.1

## Hanquan TV – Hanying Xiangsui (iOS China store, id6806150545) research report

> Store checked: all stores scanned. The database has one China-store row, and it only charted in the China store; this app only runs in the China store. Data as of 2026-11-06.

### One line

Listed as a "drama tracking tool" under Utilities, but it's actually a pirated film and TV app that streams Korean dramas and sells a ¥18 lifetime membership. It took off not because the product is good, but because **"Hanju TV / Hanxiaoquan," the long-running Korean drama aggregator app, kept getting pulled from the iOS China store, and every takedown left a crowd of users looking for a replacement** . It picked a name that trades on the original, stuffed the title with "Korean drama" keywords, and used a disguised category to get through review, catching the people who searched the store.

### 1. Data (appstore library + Apple lookup)

- The developer "Yan Bai" is an individual account with only this one app; the bundle id is `com.yaohuiqunce.baogouen`, which has nothing to do with the product name; the privacy policy and "developer website" are both just a Tencent Docs page (Apple lookup and store page, 2026-11-06).

- Version 1.0 launched Sep 2, version 1.1 launched Sep 9; the release note says "fixed some bugs causing crashes", and there have been no updates since. The only in-app purchase is "Hanying Xiangsui lifetime membership ¥18.00" (store page).

- Rating count (cn, appstore library app_day): 10-31 has 126 ratings, 11-01 148,11-02 163,11-03 180,11-04 207,11-05 224,11-06 276; over the last 7 days +150,11-06, one day +52. The Apple lookup already showed 313 ratings that day, averaging 4.52.

- Rank: the Utilities Top Free chart climbed from #10-31 on 177 to #11-06 on 61, and the store page showed #63 the same day. It has never charted in the overall chart or Top Grossing.

- **Ratings and reviews don't match** : the store page plus RSS shows only 6 written reviews, all 1 stars ("Don't download, you need a membership to watch", "Membership top-up never arrived", "Can't enlarge the screen", "Garbage", "Membership didn't arrive", "Stuck, 1 minutes of video takes 1 hours to watch"), yet the 313 ratings average 4.5. Inferred: either the app prompts users for ratings in-app, or star-only ratings were manipulated. Not verified.

### 2. Why it took off

#### 2.1 Where the demand comes from: Hanju TV / Hanxiaoquan keeps getting pulled from iOS, and users keep looking for alternatives

- "Hanju TV" is China's largest pirated Korean drama aggregator app; it was later renamed "Hanxiaoquan," and the operator is Shanghai Baoyun Network. From 2022 on, it was pulled, renamed, and relisted on iOS many times, and Xiaohongshu has a whole thread of users looking for it:
    - From 2022-09 to 2023-06 there were several posts about "Hanju TV renamed to Hanxiaoquan"; the one from 2023-01-30, "Hanju TV officially renamed! Finally downloadable," got 11,042 likes;
    - On 2025-12-27 someone posted "Recently the old iOS version of Hanxiaoquan is down too… moving to a new app again?" (276 likes);
    - On 2026-04-05 someone said "Hanju TV on Apple iPad is called Hanxiaotai, on Android it's Hanxiaoquan";
    - On 2026-10-11 the "Hanju TV recovery tutorial" (430 likes) says "the Apple app can't be downloaded from the store anymore… it shows 'App Store no longer offers this app'," and teaches people to reinstall the old version with 爱思助手 or iMazing;
    - On 2026-11-04 and 11-05 someone posted "What happened to Hanxiaoquan, the recently updated dramas all disappeared" and "It's been two days, when will it be back?" (All of the above comes from TikHub Xiaohongshu search, with dates converted from post timestamps.)

- Douyin users also summarized it: "Hanju TV keeps getting renamed and relisted, now it's called Hanxiaoju" and "How many names can Hanju TV have? A new name and a new app every day" (TikHub Douyin general search for "Hanquan TV").

- Searching the Apple lookup for the old Hanxiaoquan iOS version id1588233154, we can no longer find it in the China store.

- Conclusion: **the iOS China store has long had a large group of people who paid for Hanju TV and got used to it, and they search the store for "Hanju TV / Hanquan / Hanxiaoquan" to find a replacement** . November also coincided with the Korean drama new-season rush (the Hanju TV Weibo November viewing calendar listed 11 new series, such as 11-04, which premiered), and Hanxiaoquan itself was broken, so Hanquan TV's rating growth accelerated in early November. The timing fits (this part is inferred).

#### 2.2 How it catches these users: borrowed name, keywords, disguised category

- **Borrowed name** : "Hanquan TV" is assembled from "Hanxiaoquan / Hanju TV / Hanquan Theater." A Xiaohongshu post 2026-05-20, "Which one is the real official one?" (118 likes), shows users can no longer tell which is legitimate; that confusion is its source of users.

- **Store search** : the title "Hanquan TV – Hanying Xiangsui – Tons of Korean drama content, drama notes, highlights, watch tracking" is packed with "Korean drama," "watching," "highlights." The store page's "You might also like" lists only similar copycats (Hanjuquan 6815112301, Wangfeimao, Wangfeimao Cinema, Haohaokanjushe, Hanshipin), which suggests it shares the same search users and the same "bought, then bought again" buyers with this group of apps.

- **Disguised to pass review** : it sits under the "Utilities" category, the description only says "a purely viewing-log tool," and privacy labels say "no data collected." Reviews and Xiaohongshu feedback show the actual interface is a video stream with a membership paywall. Inferred: review saw a logging-tool interface, and after launch the server switched to film and TV content, so it hasn't needed a new build since 1.1.

- **Xiaohongshu / Douyin "recovery tutorial" and "avoid this" posts** : these posts were not placed by it (no evidence), but as posts discussing "what Hanju TV is called now" multiply, more people search the App Store, and it picks up that traffic.

#### 2.3 Where the money comes from

- A ¥18 lifetime membership is about the price of a milk tea, so the bar for an impulse purchase is low. Hanxiaoquan's official memberships are annual and monthly cards, and Xiaohongshu has plenty of posts about carpooled and resold accounts. Hanquan TV captures these buyers with a one-time lifetime price.

- The bad reviews are almost all "paid for membership but it didn't activate / can't watch anything," which suggests it makes money on one-time purchases and doesn't care whether users stay. On Xiaohongshu, 2026-05 already has several "Hanquan TV warning" posts: "bought the lifetime membership," "after topping up, members can't use it normally," "watched for half a month...". These posts predate this app's Sep 9 launch, which suggests **the name "Hanquan TV" already ran under a different app ID, got pulled, and this ID is another relaunch** (inference). The same iOS clone IDs 6814385158 and 6798569585 that came up in the recall search now return nothing in Apple's lookup today, which fits the pattern of pulling and relaunching under a new package.

### 3. Competitors (all on iOS China store, appstore library app_profile 2026-11-06)

| Name | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Hanquan TV |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hanxiaoju – One-stop Korean entertainment hub (id6810573823, Juanjuan Zhou) | 2026-09-29 | 3,239 ratings, +7 in 1,578 days, Productivity category free chart #13, overall free chart #135 | Posts on Xiaohongshu with 3,984 likes, and Douyin posts, say it is the "new version of Hanxiaoquan (formerly Hanju TV)" and can log in with the old phone number, so it is a clone of the original; its growth over the same period was 10 times Hanquan TV's. |
| Hanju Circle – Latest Korean drama episodes (id6810500218, Wencheng Wu) | 2026-10-26 | 142 ratings, +7 in 141 days, Lifestyle category free chart #36 | The same playbook, launched later but growing faster; Douyin users say "old Hanju TV renamed Hanju Circle, log in directly with your phone number." |
| Hanju Circle – High-rated popular Korean drama lists, recommendations, viewing notes and journal logging (id6815112301, Shuaihui Song) | 2026-09-29 | 14 ratings, Utilities free chart #203 | The same "journal log" disguise; on Xiaohongshu 10-02 there are warning posts saying "15 yuan for one…" |
| Xiaoshizi Film & TV – Full-featured drama and film viewing log collection (id6791060014) | 2026-07-16 | 2,540 ratings, +7 over 283 days, Entertainment category Top Free #161 | Not just Korean dramas; it covers all categories of film and TV, also called "viewing log" |
| Juwu – Massive Korean, American, Japanese and Thai dramas (id6789785941) | 2026-08-04 | 744 ratings, +7 over 179 days, Efficiency category #120 | Multi-country dramas |
| Wangfeimao – Ultra-HD hot films and dramas, watch as you like (id6759076364) | 2026-02-13 | 2,959 ratings, average 4.18 (lookup) | Borrows the "Netflix" name, covers all categories, has survived longer |
| Hanxiaoquan / Hanju TV official (Shanghai Baoyun) | Started around 2014 | Available in every Android store; the old iOS version (id1588233154) can no longer be found in the China store | The source of demand. The official app couldn't hold on iOS, which gave the copycats their opening |
| Tencent Video / iQiyi / Youku / Mango (licensed) | Already around | Top players | Licensed, but Korean drama catalogs are thin and updates slow, and they require membership; users want "complete, fast, cheap" |
| Android "Hanquan TV" (Guangzhou Zhixichuang, hanquan.zd.hantv) | 2026 | 167 downloads on Tencent App Store | An Android shell with the same name (Japanese-Korean translation plus local playback); its scale is negligible |

### 4. Differentiation

Compared with its peers, it has **no product differentiation** . They are all pirated Korean drama sources behind membership paywalls, and the products are equally weak (lag, no fullscreen, top-ups that don't arrive). The only differences are the name and the price: "Hanquan TV" sounds most like "Hanxiaoquan / Hanju TV," and it is priced as a one-time ¥18 lifetime purchase. What actually pushed it up is **the distribution playbook (borrowed name + keywords + disguised category) and timing (the official app repeatedly pulled, November new-season dramas, Hanxiaoquan outages)** , not differentiation.

### 5. How many people have seen it

- Media, X (60 mentions of "Hanquan TV" in x-radar over the last 0 days), and TrustMRR have nothing on it. On Xiaohongshu there are only a few avoid-posts with single-digit likes.

- But the playbook itself is no secret in the gray-market scene: the same batch of individual developer accounts in the China store are repeating it in bulk (see the competitor table), and the space is already crowded.

### 6. What others can learn

- Watch for platform events like "a major app gets pulled from iOS." A pulled top app leaves behind users still searching for it, and whoever shows up first in search results catches them.

- Keep the name close to what users actually search for, pair it with a low-price one-time purchase, and it's a good fit for impulse payers.

- Heads up: the content is pirated, and disguising it to pass review breaks Apple's rules. The account can be banned or the app pulled at any time, so this is a one-off business. Don't copy this playbook. It only shows where the demand is: there's no good legitimate Korean drama channel on iOS in China.

### 7. Uncertain

- Whether the average 4.5 rating is driven by review prompts or rating manipulation is unverified.

- Whether it runs paid ads (Ocean Engine, Tencent Ads, ASA) is unconfirmed; we found no evidence, and our ad libraries don't cover China.

- Unverified: whether "韩圈TV" is run by the same team behind 韩小剧 or the Korean drama circle, and which app ID the May Xiaohongshu warning post refers to by "韩圈TV".

- Revenue can't be estimated: it has only charted on Utilities Top Free, never on Top Grossing.
