A 21-rating tool hits #32 on the Top Grossing chart: how an AI product-video app collects money by charging per second
What it is: an iPhone app where you upload a product photo and AI generates vertical short videos for selling, voiceover, storytelling and seeding-style content. On top of the membership subscription, each second of video costs an extra 5 coins.
Why it blew up It rode the Douyin "AI product video" wave of 2026: sellers who don't want to shoot real footage can get finished clips fast. The subscription plus per-second coin charges make each paying user spend a lot, and Douyin paid ads plus store keywords pushed a small user base onto the Top Grossing chart.
CHow you could follow Don't copy this app in China as-is. A team that knows paid acquisition could take the same "product photo to video + pay-per-use" model to TikTok Shop sellers (US store, small Southeast Asian languages), or apply it to audiences who also spend money to make money, like real estate agents and local restaurants.

In Nov 4, a user named "槐不语" left BeeShow a one-star review on the App Store: "It can only generate 15 seconds at most, and it costs 5 coins per second. 15 seconds is 75 coins, and even after buying a membership you only get a few 15-second videos." The review is harsh, but it accidentally explains exactly how the app makes money. BeeShow launched on the China App Store in Sep 20. It does one thing: you upload a product photo and it generates a short sales video with AI. By 11-06 it had only 21 ratings in total, yet it ranked #32 on the China Top Grossing chart for Utilities, ahead of several competitors with dozens to hundreds of times more ratings. Below: what it sells, why people pay, where its users come from, who it's competing with, and whether you can still get in.
What it is
An iPhone app whose title is basically a search query: "BeeShow - One-click original e-commerce sales videos." The store page lists six features: one-click sales video from a product photo, replicating the structure of viral videos, generating voiceover from a single selling point, placing the product in a short storyline, "authentic" UGC-style seeding, and multi-style product display. Output is vertical short video for sellers posting on Douyin, WeChat Channels, and Xiaohongshu.
Monetization has two layers. The first is membership: weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual auto-renewing tiers. The second is that generating video costs extra coins, 5 coins per second, up to 15 seconds per clip, which is 75 coins per clip. The coins included with membership only cover a few clips.
How 21 ratings got it to #32 on Top Grossing
First, its trend over the past ten days on the China App Store, Utilities category:
| Date | Total ratings | Utilities Top Grossing | Utilities Top Free |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-28 | 3 | 27 | 75 |
| 10-31 | 8 | 35 | 96 |
| 11-02 | 14 | 52 | 201 |
| 11-04 | 17 | 40 | Not charted |
| 11-06 | 21 | 32 | 121 |
Top Grossing held steady at 27 to 52, while Top Free bounced between #75 and #201, and on one day it fell off the chart entirely. Few downloads, but the people who pay spend a lot. Compare it with its peers on the same day (11-06): Quick Edit Pro has 12,739 ratings and only ranks #174 to #189 on Top Grossing; Hit Studio has 2,166 ratings and peaked at #58; Instant Cut AI has 706 ratings and peaked at #159. BeeShow's rating count is a fraction of theirs, yet its revenue rank is higher than all of them. 11-06 On Top Grossing it sits right next to long-running paid tools like voice-to-text transcription, wallpapers, and Sogou Input.
The cause is the "double charge" from the one-star review: a subscription, plus coins charged per second on top. Sellers and newcomers willing to pay for sales results may buy a membership and then top up coins several times, so the average spend per user is far above a typical utility app. Exactly how much revenue this rank represents can't be calculated from the outside.
The cost is reputation. From 10-27 to 10-30, a string of 5 one-star reviews came in, all about money: "Bought a membership and it still charges separately to generate videos," "You have to pay the moment it generates, and the membership costs more after that," "No need to sign up, but spam floods in," "This boss has a small outlook." Starting 11-01, the tone suddenly shifted, and 5 five-star reviews arrived in a row, with polished wording like: "Plain product intros can feel stiff, while the storyline sales feature weaves the product into everyday scenes... easier for users to keep watching than just reading out specs." Whether these positive reviews were solicited or astroturfed, the wording and timing look similar, but that's only an inference. 11-06 The store average is 3.1,23 ratings.
Who makes it: a Jiangsu team running a matrix of utility apps
The one actually running it is Nantong Tuiliang Network Technology Co., Ltd. in Jiangsu. BeeShow's Douyin official account is certified under them, and they're the developer of the Android version (on Tencent's App Treasure). The app's privacy policy is hosted on a backend called xiaofengle, whose homepage reads "Multi-App Foundational Capability Management System: unified login, payments, memberships, push, files and data services." The same backend also runs an AI dubbing app, "Xiao Peiyin." Nantong Tuiliang's own Apple developer account also has "Mi Xiaoyu - the chat keyboard that gets you" (launched 2024-06, 11.5k ratings in the China store, best rank 73 on the category grossing chart).
In short, this is a team with an existing backend that knows how to build paid utilities. For them, launching another app is a reskin plus a new video generation capability. Publishing under a fresh Hong Kong account also means problems with one app won't spill over to the others (inference).
Where users come from
Likely paid acquisition on Douyin (inferred, not directly seen). BeeShow's Douyin account is IP-located in Jiangsu, with 1,681 followers. Its public profile shows only 7 videos, with 2 to 22 likes each, adding up to just over fifty, yet the account's total likes read 11,324. The most plausible explanation: most of the likes sit on ad creatives that aren't on the public profile. Ads run through Oceanengine, Qianchuan, and DOU+ often look like this (inference). The company is called 推量. The public videos read like ad copy. The one from 11-03 says: "Tired of shooting real product videos? Try this: one image can make a viral short-drama product video... no filming needed, one image is enough." The one from 10-12 says: "Everyone keeps asking how to use it, here's the AI product video tutorial!" (Douyin, viewed 11-06)
Store search (confirmed). The title crams in "sales video, original, one-click generation." The category is "Utilities"; similar apps often sit under "Photo & Video," but the Utilities Top Grossing bar is lower, so it's easier to chart. In the App Store "Customers also bought" section it appears alongside 素剪AI, 天天爆款, 瞬剪AI, 探思AI, and 天天出单, meaning the same group of beginner AI sellers tries several of these apps back to back.
Download-site coverage (confirmed). Huoniao Game, Yuanpi App Store, Yingyong Kong, Youba Le and Kefan Download Site all host its Android download pages, the standard SEO play for domestic tool apps. But the Android side isn't really doing anything: Tencent App Treasure shows only 21 downloads (11-06).
What I couldn't find: no press coverage, and no discussion on X, Reddit, or Xiaohongshu. Revenue is not disclosed.
Why now
In 2026, "AI sales videos" were hot on Douyin. The most widely circulated case in Zhihu and operator circles is 雪梨爆爆: 110k followers, sales of 10M to 25M in three months, and over 5200 videos posted, almost all AI-generated women's apparel sales clips. A wave of newcomers wanted to copy it, and "one photo to sales video" tools were built for exactly them. The underlying video generation models also got cheaper this year, so a small team can wrap a shell around them and ship.
But BeeShow wasn't the only one riding the wave. On Douyin, the tutorials teaching "AI storyline sales" mostly use ByteDance's own Xiaoyunque. A account called "木琴" posted two clips in September, each with over 1,400 likes, dozens of times more than any video on BeeShow's own account. What BeeShow sells is really big-tech capability packaged as "sales-specific templates," plus convenience.
Who it's competing with
| Product | Launched | Scale (China) | How BeeShow differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Mate | 2024-08 | 63.6k ratings, best #6 on Lifestyle Top Grossing | All-in-one AI video, covering sales, novel-style posts, and short dramas |
| 出单快剪 | 2025-06 | 12.7k ratings, Utilities Top Grossing #174–#189 | Built on "mashup and dedup to avoid reposting," needs existing footage |

| Kaipai (Meitu) | 2023-04 | 160k ratings | Needs a real person on camera for voiceover |
Overseas there's CreatOK (aimed at TikTok Shop sellers, pitched as "one-click viral copy"), Creatify, Arcads, MakeUGC, Oumomo, and others. Most are web-based with USD subscriptions and do the same thing.
Nearly every one of BeeShow's six features has a counterpart among competitors. "Generate directly from a product photo, add storyline and seeding" is the newer generation compared to the "mashup and dedup" camp, but the whole segment is moving this way. Where it truly differs is at the business level: heavier charging, clever category choice, and paid acquisition skill. It got where it is not because its product is better.
If it were you
Verdict: Don't copy this app as-is. Before it launched, China already had at least 8 similar "AI sales video" tools, and ByteDance's own tools sit above them. What's worth learning is how it collects money: subscription plus pay-per-use coins, sold to people willing to pay for sales results. A few dozen ratings can be enough to chart on Top Grossing.
Who it suits: Small teams that already have login, payment, and membership infrastructure, that run ads on Douyin or TikTok, and can tell when they've paid back their ad spend; or people who already have a network of sellers or sales creators.
Who it doesn't suit: Solo developers who can code but have never run paid ads. This category has no technical moat, and the product can't be differentiated on features, so the game is creatives and bids. It's also not for anyone who cares about reputation or wants to build a long-term brand. This charging model produces one-star reviews.
How to do it: Two paths. One is to change the audience: take the same "one photo to sales video" model to TikTok Shop sellers in the US store and Southeast Asia, localize voiceover and subtitles into local languages, and charge subscription plus per-second fees. Note that CreatOK and Creatify already work the US store, and I haven't checked how crowded the Southeast Asian language segment is. The other is to change verticals: apply its charging structure to another audience that spends money to make money, such as property listing videos for real estate agents, group-buy videos for local restaurants, or main-image videos for cross-border sellers. Pay-per-use extracts more from heavy users than plain subscriptions. Whichever path you take, show users a complete finished clip after the trial and before coins are charged. Reducing the feeling of being burned ("charged the moment it generates, then the membership costs more") should cut down on bad reviews considerably (inference).
How to get users: Demo the product in your ad creative itself: a white-background product photo on the left, the generated 15-second clip on the right, opening with "Don't want to shoot real footage?" Make the store title a search query, and pick the category with the lowest Top Grossing bar. On Douyin or TikTok, test creatives on a small budget first, and only scale spend once you've calculated how many coins a paying user actually burns.
When it's already too late: The window in China is basically closed. The overseas TikTok Shop route, from the Black Friday to Christmas stretch (only three weeks away now), is too tight to build from zero. At the latest, launch by 2027 March and test creatives on a small budget so you're ready for the mid-year sales push.
Signs you've misread it: ① BeeShow drops out of the top 100 Utilities Top Grossing within a month, meaning refunds and churn from per-second coin charges are eating the revenue, and this pricing won't last. ② ByteDance builds "one-click sales video from a product photo" directly into Xiaoyunque or CapCut and makes it free, which takes away the entire category's shovels. ③ Conversely, if a month from now it still has only dozens of ratings and stays within #50 on Top Grossing, the "few users, high ticket" model is more durable than it looks, and it's worth copying seriously into other verticals.

- Inferred Douyin paid acquisition (Oceanengine / Qianchuan / DOU+): the official Douyin account is certified to Nantong Tuiliang Network Technology, with 1,681 followers. Its public works get 7–2 likes each (22 works total), but the account's total likes are 11,324, so most likes presumably sit on unlisted ad creatives. The copy is standard ad-speak (TikHub 11-06).
- Confirmed Store search / ASO: the title is stuffed with the keyword "one-click original e-commerce promo short video generator". It sits in Utilities, where the charting bar is lower. Under "Customers also bought" on Apple, it cross-recommends with Suјian AI, Tiantian Hit, and Shunjian AI.
- Confirmed Download-site content seeding: Huoniao Games, Yipi, Yingyong Kong, Youba Le, and Kefan download sites all carry Android download pages (Exa search).
- Inferred Incentivized / fake five-star reviews: from 10-27 to 10-30, 5 consecutive one-star reviews complain about paywalls. Starting 11-01, a run of 5 polished, long five-star reviews appeared out of nowhere (appstore library review table).
BeeShow – One-Click Original E-commerce Promo Short Video (iOS id6807295676) research report
Checked which storefronts: the appstore database was scanned across all regions. This app charted only in cn (Utilities Top Free + Top Grossing) and mo (10-28 Utilities Top Free, #122, for only one day), so cn is the main market. Data as of 2026-11-06.
Bottom line
BeeShow is a new AI promo-video "shovel" from a domestic utility-app studio. Its user base is small, but each user pays a lot: on top of the subscription, generation is billed per second in coins (5 coins/second, 15 coins for a 75-second video). That's why an app with only 21 ratings can sit at #27–52 on China's Utilities Top Grossing chart. Users arrive mainly via Douyin paid acquisition and store keywords, riding the 2026 wave of "AI promo" on Douyin. The product itself is nearly indistinguishable from a dozen competitors. It works because of monetization design, paid-acquisition capability, and the team's existing multi-app backend, not because of differentiation.

The data card's recall reason says the developer is the veteran game company "Renren Games". That is very likely wrong. Renren Games' operating entity is Shanghai Renren Game Technology Development Co., Ltd. (NEEQ 870140). This Hong Kong "Renren Mobile Games" was registered only 2024 years ago, and its actual operator is Nantong Tuiliang; there's no visible link between the two. It looks more like a borrowed or purchased Hong Kong developer account (unverified).

- Its Top Grossing rank is far better than its Top Free rank, with very few ratings, which points to modest downloads but high-paying users. Compared with peers (all cn tool apps, 11-06): 出单快剪 has 12,739 ratings and charts only at #174–189 on Top Grossing; 爆款工坊 has 2,166 ratings and peaked at #58; 瞬剪AI has 706 ratings and peaked at #159. BeeShow has just 21 ratings, yet its revenue rank beats all of them.
- On the day in question, 11-06 ranked #32 on the cn Utilities Top Grossing chart, surrounded by mature paid utilities such as voice-to-text, wallpapers, and Sogou Input (appstore library chart_rank).
- The Tencent App Store only shows "21 downloads" (v1.0.3,2026-11-05 update). Android is barely pursued.
III. Growth levers (where users come from)
- Douyin paid acquisition (highly likely, no direct view of the ad dashboard): the official Douyin account "BeeShow" is enterprise-certified to Nantong Tuiliang, with an IP location in Jiangsu, 1,681 followers, and 7 public works (6 posted 10-12, 1 posted 11-03), each with only 2–22 likes. But the account's "total likes received" is 11,324, far above the sum of these 7 works' likes (about 54). The likely explanation is that most likes sit on hidden or ad-only creatives (Oceanengine / Qianchuan / DOU+ ad videos often aren't public on the profile); the company name is literally "Tuiliang" (promotion volume). The copy is standard ad language: "Don't want to shoot real footage for promo videos? … one image makes a video" and "Everyone keeps asking how to use it, AI promo tutorial is here". (TikHub Douyin search + user works, 11-06 scrape)
- Store keywords (confirmed): the title crams in keywords. "One-click original e-commerce promo short video" covers high-frequency searches like "promo video", "original", and "one-click generation". It's filed under Utilities, not Photo & Video where similar apps tend to sit, and the Utilities chart has a lower bar for ranking. Under Apple's "Customers also bought", it cross-recommends with Suјian AI, Tiantian Hit, Shunjian AI, Tansi AI, and Tiantian Chudan, suggesting the users are the same group of AI-promo newcomers who shuttle between several similar apps (Jina-retrieved App Store see-all page).
- Download-site content seeding (confirmed): Huoniao Games, Yipi App Store, Yingyong Kong, Youba Le, and Kefan download sites all host BeeShow's Android download pages (Exa search). This is the routine SEO volume-seeding that domestic utility apps do.
- Incentivized reviews / rating manipulation (highly likely): of the 5 reviews from 10-27 to 10-30, all are one-star, and they all complain about payment ("After buying membership I still have to pay separately to generate videos," "Generation asks for membership right away, and even after membership there's more to pay," "Spam messages bombard you"). Starting on 11-01, 5 neatly worded long five-star reviews suddenly appeared in a row ("Short-drama product promotion has a storytelling feel... more engaging than just reading product specs", "A real weapon for making promo videos"), followed by another one-star on 11-04. Store average 3.08 (23 ratings, 11-06 lookup). (appstore database, review table)
- Channels not found: nothing on X (x-radar 60 days, 0 posts), no media coverage, no TrustMRR, and no discussion on Reddit or Xiaohongshu.
4. Why it took off
- Timing: 2026's AI promo wave on Douyin. Zhihu and operator communities are dissecting "amateur AI video selling": the creator "Xueli Baobao" went from 110k followers to 1000–25M in sales over three months, posting 5200+ videos, nearly all AI-generated women's-wear promos (zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/2037263851926844206, /p/2037988795606357784). A flood of AI-promo newcomers came in, and a shovel that sells "one image, one promo video" caught that demand. The base video models (ByteDance's Seedance and others) got cheaper, so small teams can wrap them in a shell and start shipping output.
- Monetization design: subscription plus per-second coin billing, a double charge. The one-star reviews spell out the math: 5 coins per second, 15 seconds per video costs 75 coins, and even a membership purchase only covers a few videos. Each paying user spends far more than on a typical utility app, so 21 ratings is enough to reach around #30 on Top Grossing. The price is poor reputation, with lots of refunds and bad reviews.
- The team already has matrix infrastructure. The xiaofengle backend handles login, payments, membership, and push notifications centrally. The same team already runs Xiaopeiyin and Mi Xiaoyu (11k ratings, able to chart Top Grossing), paid tools of this type. Launching a new one means reskinning and plugging in new video-generation capability; opening a new Hong Kong account also isolates the risk.
- An ad team. The entity is named "Tuiliang", and the Douyin account's likes don't match its public works. Both point to a team that buys traffic and has the math on payback. Its audience is merchants and promo newcomers who will pay for "making sales".
5. Competitors
Domestic apps (most launched 2025–2026 years ago, almost all run by individuals or small companies, usually filed under Utilities):
- AI Mate (Beijing Diandao Tu, 2024-08, cn 63.6k ratings, best Lifestyle Top Grossing rank #6): a comprehensive AI video tool covering promo videos, novel-style short posts, and short dramas. It's the largest of the group.
- Hit Workshop (Chengdu Ouyoumi, 2025-11,2,179 ratings, best Utilities Top Grossing rank #58): digital-human talking-head videos, novel-style posts, and promos in one tool.
- Quick Cut Sales (Chengdu Jumuduan, 2025-06,12,748 ratings, Top Grossing #174–189): pitched on "mashup dedup to prevent reposting", not generation from product images.
- Shunjian AI (2026-02,706 ratings, best Top Grossing rank #159), Tiantian Hit (2026-01,179 ratings), Suјian AI (2026-08,262 ratings, pitched on "smart dedup against reposting"), Tiantian Chudan, Tansi AI: nearly identical titles and selling points.
- Kaipai (Meitu, 2023-4.16M ratings): talking-head filming and editing, requires a real person on camera.
- Shuodeai, Lingan teleprompter, and other teleprompter / digital-human talking-head tools.
Big-tech features:
- ByteDance's Xiaoyunque (2025-765k ratings, best Top Grossing rank #10), Jimeng AI (23.5k ratings, best Top Grossing rank #5), and CapCut (22.1M ratings): native to the Douyin ecosystem, with plenty of "#Xiaoyunque AI AI-story promo" tutorials on Douyin (1,400–1,900 likes each, far above BeeShow's own account). BeeShow's pitch is packaging these big-tech capabilities into "promo-specific templates".
- Alibaba Cloud's "full-chain AIGC video creation platform", Taobao Huiwa, and others offer product-image-to-promo-video generation.
Overseas: CreatOK (creatok.ai, aimed at TikTok Shop sellers, "one-click clone of hit videos"), Oumomo, Creatify, Arcads, MakeUGC, and others. Mostly web-based, charging USD subscriptions, doing the same job.
VI. Differentiation
Almost none. BeeShow's six features (promo videos, hit-video cloning, talking heads, story-driven promos, UGC seeding, product showcases) are also offered by Hit Workshop, Shunjian AI, and Tiantian Hit. Compared with the mashup-dedup school of Quick Cut Sales and Suјian AI, its route is "direct generation from product images" plus "story / UGC seeding", which makes it a newer generation of the format. But the whole category is upgrading at once, so this isn't unique to it. What truly sets it apart is the business layer: high per-second coin pricing, filed under Utilities, backed by paid acquisition. Differentiation is not why it's working.
VII. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: few people know about it yet. What's findable is the App Store page, charting aggregators (AppWinners, AppInsider, apppage), and download sites. No media coverage, no X discussion, and no public revenue figures.
- Copycats: no one is specifically copying it. The category was already crowded before it arrived (2025-06 to 2026-08 already had at least 8 similar apps), and BeeShow is itself one of the followers.
VIII. What to take from it
- Chasing revenue on China's Utilities Top Grossing chart doesn't necessarily require big download numbers. Subscriptions plus usage-based coin billing, aimed at merchants and promo newcomers who will pay to make sales, can get an app to around #30 on the chart with just a few dozen ratings.
- A shared multi-app backend (login, payments, membership) plus separate developer accounts lets you reskin quickly, run multiple apps, and isolate risk.
- Package general model capabilities into vertical scenario templates ("one image becomes a promo short drama"), then use Douyin ad creatives to find users.
- The overseas version of this play is TikTok Shop sellers (US store, Southeast Asia), which CreatOK is already doing.
IX. Uncertainties
- The Douyin ad spend and payback are not directly evidenced (we don't have the Ocean Engine / Qianchuan ad library); "likes don't match the videos" is an inference.
- Whether the five-star reviews from November onward are incentivized or fake is only inferred from their wording and timing.
- The relationship between Hong Kong's 人人手游 / 人人游戏 and Nantong Tuiliang is unverified.
- No estimate of revenue for the top ~30 Top Grossing spots; retention and refund rates are unknown. The one-star reviews focus on pricing, so renewal rates may be low.
