Fibi - AI Gym Coach · Joris Riviere

Translate Fitbod into French, then push it to #5 on the fitness chart with five TikTok accounts: can Fibi's playbook be run again in another language

What it is A French AI fitness coach app: answer a few questions to generate a training plan, log each set with automatic weight progression, and pay to unlock the AI chat coach and photo body-fat estimation at €9.99/month or €39.99/year.

Why it took off It was the first AI fitness app to flood French TikTok: a 690k-follower account plus several alt accounts posing as ordinary users, all using the same voiceover "L'app c'est Fibi" and riding gym tags like Basic-Fit. Several local fitness creators were layered on at the end of October, and it climbed to #5 on the France Health & Fitness free chart.

BHow you could follow it Don't copy the product, copy the playbook: take a subscription category already proven in English, move it into a language where nobody has done native video yet, and from launch day post daily from 4–5 TikTok accounts, adding local micro-creators when pushing for a chart. On the product side, fill the gaps Fibi left, like women's plans and photo food logging, and ride the January New Year fitness season.

Grade B: the playbook is clear, nearly free, and few people know about it, and it can be copied into another language. But the product has no moat, the category is already crowded in English, and Fibi fell from #5 to #83 six days after its climb, which shows the volume depends entirely on sustained content and the paid scale isn't large. Few people know about it yet

A French solo developer's AI fitness coach app. None of its features are new. Six weeks after launch it reached #5 on the France App Store Health & Fitness free chart. What drove it wasn't the product but a very low-cost French TikTok flooding playbook. Others could follow the same playbook, but the app also fell off fast once it peaked.

Oct 28, a video from an "ordinary gym guy"

Oct 28, a TikTok account called @leo.trss posted a video captioned only "L'app de fou 😳" (this app is insane), tagged #musculation #basicfit #prisedemasse, with just over 10k views. The account had 3,000 followers and looked like a French guy bulking at Basic-Fit. Its bio read "L'app que j'utilise c'est Fibi sur l'AppStore" (the app I use is Fibi on the App Store).

The same day, @keeryy59, a Lille fitness creator with 28k followers who sells his own training plans, posted an arm workout video ending with "the app that helps you progress is Fibi," with 15.7k views. Two days later, on Oct 30, the brand account @fibi.app posted "Qui connaît?!?" (Who knows this?).

Also on Oct 30, Fibi climbed to #5 on the France Health & Fitness free chart and was still at #5 the next day. Over Oct 31 and Nov 1, it gained about 100 ratings in France, when it had been adding only single digits per day before (France App Store rating counts, 10-28 to 11-01).

What it is: something you've already seen

Fibi - AI Gym Coach, launched in 2026 Sep 16, developer Joris Riviere, individual account. On open it asks a few questions first: goal (muscle gain or fat loss), gym or home, how many sessions a week, any injuries. The AI then builds a split workout plan. While you train, it logs every set, bumps weight or reps automatically once you hit your target, and tells you why. The paid parts are an AI chat coach and a body scan that estimates body composition from a single photo. There's also a "rank" system that compares your strength with people of the same bodyweight.

The pricing is the standard template for this category: 3-day free trial, then €9.99/month or €39.99/year.

None of these features is unique to it. AI-generated plans with auto weight progression have been Fitbod's thing for 2015 years, strength ranks are Liftoff's playbook, and AI coaches and photo body-fat estimates are everywhere. The store-page pitch, "data stays on your phone, no sign-up," never comes up in user reviews.

There is only one thing that really sets it apart: from store copy to videos, it is fully French, uses "tu", and leans on the words young French people actually use, like "muscu" and "winter arc". By Nov 6, 320 of its ratings came from 316 of them in France, the rest from Belgium, Senegal, Algeria and Mali. It only targets the French-speaking world.

Where the users come from: five accounts, one sentence

I could not find any Meta or TikTok paid ads for it (not finding them does not mean there were none). What is visible is organic TikTok content, and it is obvious these all follow the same script:

AccountFollowersPersonaTypical copyViews

A few details worth noting:

  • The main account is borrowed. @fibi.app has 690K followers and 8.99M likes, but only 8 videos, with the top one at 56K views. Followers and videos don't match. The most likely explanation is a bought or taken-over old account, used to prop up a new app.
  • The tags ride on offline gyms. Nearly every video carries #basicfit and #fitnesspark, the two largest gym chains in France. People scrolling those tags are the ones who just signed up and don't know how to train.
  • The hook is "the secret got out". "Who knew this?" "Why didn't anyone tell me sooner" "Stop hiding it". It makes an app recommendation feel like a private tip between friends, and the voiceover always lands on the same line: "L'app c'est Fibi".
  • Men's and women's lines run separately. The guy account talks muscle gain and uses #basicfit; the girl account talks fat loss and uses #pilates #pertedepoids, riding the "winter arc" trend from late September to mid October.
  • A few real creators get added at the key moment. Besides @keeryy59, in Oct 21 a fitness-coach student account with 1,300 followers, @chdsport, posted a video with 69.5K views and 6,800 likes that also features Fibi (how it was mentioned in the video is unverified). The picks are mid-tier French fitness accounts, cheap with a targeted audience; whether they were paid is unverified.

One thing doesn't add up. During the chart push, the videos I could find added up to only a few hundred thousand public views, which makes ranking #5 in the category and getting 100 ratings in two days a stretch. There may be Instagram Reels cross-posts or creator videos I didn't find, or rating prompts inside the app. I found no evidence for any of these.

The website is just a terms page on a default vercel domain with no SEO. No one is discussing it on X, Reddit, or in the press.

Two things stand out in this table. First, the Top Grossing chart peaked two days after the Top Free chart (11-02 at #23), which matches the rhythm of a 3-day trial converting to paid. Some of the people who downloaded did pay. The bar to chart in France's health and fitness Top Grossing is not high. A few dozen subscriptions a day can get you into the top 50 (my estimate), so this isn't much money, but for an app a person built in six weeks it is real money.

Second, the drop is too fast. Falling from #5 to #83 in six days says the volume was pushed in pulses, not a natural flow that sustains itself. Stop posting and it falls. The newly opened @ongfibi suggests the developer knows this and is still adding fuel.

This developer had two other apps before: floai, a skincare and nutrition app (2026 May, 7 ratings), and FitSpy, a shopping app (2026 August, 3 ratings). Neither took off. Fibi is the first one that worked. Same person, same push playbook, but it only worked once they moved into a category with a habit of paying.

Source: App Store France and US stores, 11-06. ChatGPT can also produce a training plan for free, but it won't log each set or bump weights automatically.

The category is already crowded in English (Fitbod has 289K ratings in the US store), and the top apps have all shipped French translations, but none of them is seriously making content on French TikTok. Fibi's slot is "the same product, first to push volume on French TikTok." I haven't found anyone copying Fibi directly, but new French-language launches in the same period are multiplying.

What users say

Rating 4.68. The bad reviews and suggestions cluster around a few themes:

  • "As a 27-year-old girl I wanted to try it... too bad you can't set..." (1 stars, 11-02). Women users don't have enough options, and this is exactly the app that opened a girl-persona account to pull people in.
  • "Appli qui accompagne vraiment bien mais payante." (Really good coaching, but paid. 3 stars, 10-23)
  • "Ce serait mieux si on pouvait photographier ses repas" (It would be better if you could photograph meals; 4 stars, 10-19). "Il faudrait ajouter les exercices de street workout comme les tractions, les pompes, les pompes en équilibre" (Add street workout moves like pull-ups, push-ups, handstands; 4 stars, 10-12).

Translated into product requirements: women-focused plans and body goals, photo meal logging, and advanced street workout. It has not done any of these three well yet.

If it were you

Worth a try (B). This is a distribution playbook you can copy, not a product you can copy. Someone who can make TikTok content takes a subscription category already proven in English, moves it into a language where nobody is making native video yet, and starts posting the day it launches. But don't expect one push to sustain you. Fibi's data shows that stopping for six days drops you back down.

Who it suits: 1–2 people, one of whom can churn out vertical short videos and understands how young people in a non-English language speak (German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish and Turkish are worth a look first; for any language that's still open, search fitness-app terms on local TikTok to see whether anyone is pushing them), and another who can build "questionnaire → plan → logging → auto weight progression → paywall" within a few weeks.

Who it doesn't suit: Anyone hoping to win on features (no feature in this category is new; Fitbod and the rest already have them all), anyone wanting to launch in French as a follow-up (Fibi, TDY and three other newcomers are already in that pool), and anyone unwilling to post content long-term (this playbook runs entirely on sustained volume).

How to do it: Follow the standard template for this category and don't skip steps: a long questionnaire onboarding, a 3-day trial, monthly and annual plans with the annual priced around 4× the monthly. For differentiation, go after what Fibi hasn't done well: women-focused plans and goals from the start, photo meal logging, and advanced street workout, and put them on the first screen of your store screenshots.

How to get users: Copy Fibi's structure and launch 4–5 accounts: one brand account, one guy persona, one girl persona, and one how-to account, all using one shared voiceover line, "this app is called X". Piggyback on the largest local gym chain's tags. Use hooks like "who knew this", "why didn't anyone tell me sooner", and "stop hiding it". Post near-daily for two to three weeks after launch to find the hooks that work, then at one point stack 3–5 local fitness creators with 1K–30K followers each, push the category free chart into the top 10, and let the Top Grossing chart follow.

When to do it: January is the biggest month for fitness app downloads (New Year's resolutions). Get listed by mid-December and start seeding accounts; push hard the first week of January.

Signs you're reading it wrong: ① Fibi dropped out of the French Health & Fitness Top Grossing top 100 after December and never came back. This playbook only buys one-time trial installs, not retained payers. ② Your account has been posting daily for three weeks and single-video views never clear 1,000. Either the fitness content in that language is already too crowded, or your hook is wrong. ③ You climbed the charts but Top Grossing didn't move. People downloaded but didn't pay. The French audience may not have the habit of paying for a fitness app.

Why Fibi - AI Gym Coach (ios_6809485696) showed up

Research date 2026-11-06. Data sources: our appstore library (app_day / chart_rank / app_profile, from 2026-10-28), the iTunes lookup API, TikHub (TikTok search, account profiles, video lists), the metaads / tiktokads libraries, Jina web search, and x-radar.

One line

A French indie developer, Joris Riviere, built a French-language AI strength training app. You answer a questionnaire to generate a plan, log each set, and load adjusts automatically. It adds an AI coach and a photo-based posture scan. Paywall €9.99/month or €39.99/year, with a 3-day trial. It didn't climb mainly on product differentiation. It climbed through a French UGC playbook: free TikTok traffic, a sock-puppet account network, and a few fitness creators. It hit #5 on the French Health & Fitness free chart in a market that already pays for apps but has no local AI player yet.

1. Data: where it stands now

  • Listed 2026-09-16, current version 1.5.8 (updated 11-03), languages FR/EN/ES, rating 4.68 (iTunes lookup, 320 FR ratings).
  • Ratings are almost all in France: 316 FR ratings, then BE 13, SN 11, DZ 8, ML 3 (appstore library app_day, 11-06). In other words, it only targets the French-speaking market (France, Belgium, and French-speaking Africa).
  • Rating growth (FR, appstore library): 10-28 at 146 ratings → 10-30 +8 → 10-31 +38 → 11-01 +62 → then +6~17,11-06 per day, reaching 316 ratings. 7 days, 162 new ratings.
  • Charts (FR, chart_rank):
    • Health & Fitness free chart: 10-28 #71 → 10-30, 10-31 #5 → 11-01 #10 → 11-04 #30 → 11-06 #83 (falling).
    • Overall free chart: 10-30 #81, 10-31 #143, then dropped out of the top 200.
    • Health & Fitness Top Grossing: 10-28 #142 → 10-30 #53 → 11-02 #23 (peak) → 11-06 #51.
  • Reading: a concentrated wave of downloads around 10-30 brought a wave of subscriptions. Top Grossing peaked two days later, consistent with a 3-day trial converting to paid. Free-chart rank then fell fast, so this wave was pulse-driven with no sustained organic traffic underneath. Same-region comparables: Hevy 7 days +202, Fitness Park official app +390 (appstore library app_profile 11-06). Fibi, a 7-week-old app, did 7 days +162, in the same range as these established brands, but sustained retention is unproven.

2. Competitors: who else does the same thing

"AI-generated training plan + logging + auto load progression" is a crowded category, and Fibi didn't create it. Current state of the French market (appstore library app_profile, FR, 11-06):

ProductPlatformLaunchedScale (FR / US)How Fibi differs
HevyiOS/Android2019FR 11.8k ratings 7 days +202; US 102kMainly workout logging and social. Free-first, not positioned as an AI coach.

Big-company features———Apple Fitness+, and ChatGPT (free), which answers training-plan questions directly.

Bottom line: there are at least a dozen competing products. The English-language leaders (Fitbod, Liftoff, Gravl) all have French localizations, but none of them runs a content push on French TikTok. The French local newcomers from the same period (Gymtone, Epilog, Stance) are an order of magnitude smaller than Fibi. Fibi's position is "the same product, first to scale on French TikTok."

3. Growth tactics: where users come from (evidence)

Paid ads: none found. The metaads library has no advertiser that traces back to 6809485696. The tiktokads library's mapping for it is unconfirmed with no ads (11-02 checked). Finding nothing doesn't mean nothing was run, but all the evidence points to organic content.

Self-run TikTok accounts + sock-puppet network (confirmed). This is a classic "faceless UGC / sock-puppet network" playbook. The messaging is uniform, "L'app c'est Fibi (sur l'App Store)", with fixed tags #musculation #pourtoi #basicfit #fitnesspark (borrowing the tags of France's two big gym chains):

  • @fibi.app: 693k followers and 8.99M likes in total, but only 8 videos. Bio reads "Le nom de l'app c'est Fibi dans l'app store". 8 videos have only 2k–56k views (the top one at 09-26 with 56k). Follower count and content volume/views are badly mismatched. It's almost certainly a bought or renamed old account (the followers were built by the original owner), used to lend credibility to the new app. (TikHub handler_user_profile / fetch_user_post_videos)
  • @leo.trss: 3,061 followers, bio reads "L'app que j'utilise c'est Fibi sur l'AppStore". From 09-18 (two days after launch) they post almost daily; 09-18 first post 71k views; from 10-27 they switch hooks to "Qui connaissait ?", "C'est une dinguerie", "Pk ils ont caché ça ??", and 10-27–11-03 each post gets 4k–10k views. Posed as a regular guy sharing his fitness app.
  • @blisslali: 150 followers. Bio reads "L'appli Fibi dans l'Appstore". 10-02~10-13 target women with "Arrêtez de gatekeep les filles", "ENFIN une appli créée pour nous", "WINTER ARC". Each gets 0.5k–4.8k views. It poses as a woman sharing her experience.
  • @fibi.ai: 2,179 followers. A tutorial account ("La séance push parfaite", "Comment débuter la callisthénie"). Each video gets 1k–4.6k views.
  • @ongfibi: 11-05 new account. Two posts saying "retrouve Fibi sur l'app store" (find Fibi on the App Store). The account matrix is still growing.
  • These accounts all use the same video format (two persona lines, male and female, plus a branded tips account and a big-follower account). They're mass-produced from one shared script.

Fitness creator placements (likely paid, some confirmed):

  • @keeryy59 (28k followers, a Lille fitness creator selling his own training plans): 10-28 posted "La séance bras qui change tout… L'app pour t'aider à progresser es[t Fibi]", 15.7k views. Just two days before the app hit the charts at 10-30.
  • @chdsport (1,294 followers, a BPJEPS fitness coaching trainee): 10-21 video with 69.5k views / 6,804 likes surfaced in the search for "fibi coach ia" (caption empty; presumably Fibi was mentioned in on-screen voiceover or a sticker, not frame-checked)).
  • They picked mid-to-small French fitness creators: cheap, with a precise audience.

Source of the chart push (10-30~11-01): the creators whose timing lines up are keeryy59 (10-28), the leo.trss hook series (starting 10-27, one video at 10-28k 10), and @fibi.app's 10-30 "Qui connaît?!?". But these videos add up to only a few hundred thousand public views, which is a stretch to explain a #5 Health & Fitness Top Free rank and 100 ratings in two days. Instagram Reels cross-posting, creator videos we haven't found, or the in-app rating prompt may also be involved, unverified.

Other channels: web search only turns up AppBrain and App Store listing pages. The official site fibi-site.vercel.app has a single tagline and a terms page, and the support email is [email protected] (the domain of the developer's other app, floai). So there's no SEO or site-based acquisition. My local X corpus has no Fibi app posts in the past 60 days. No Reddit threads or press coverage.

4. Why it took off

  1. They found a language market nobody was selling into on TikTok: the English AI fitness coach space is saturated (Fitbod has 289k ratings), but French-language equivalents only had store localization, no local content. Fibi's copy, videos and store listing are all native French, using French Gen Z slang like "tu", "muscu" and "winter arc".
  2. A TikTok account matrix plus one big-follower account for cheap reach: 5+ accounts, a shared voiceover "L'app c'est Fibi", and hashtag piggybacking on #basicfit and #fitnesspark (millions of French gym members). They started seeding two days after launch, with the first post at 71k views.
  3. Creator boost at a key moment: in late October, several French mid-tier fitness creators posted at once, matching the timing of 10-30's climb to #5 on the Health & Fitness free chart.
  4. Subscription design copied from a proven template: questionnaire onboarding → generated plan → 3-day trial → €39.99/year. The Top Grossing chart peaked two days after the Top Free chart (11-02 #23), which suggests trial-to-paid conversion is happening. The bar to reach the top 50 on France's Health & Fitness Top Grossing is low: a few dozen subscriptions will do it.
  5. The product works and ships fast: a release every 7 weeks to 1.5.8, with the latest version adding a Dynamic Island rest timer and resume-where-you-left-off. Rating 4.68. Negative reviews focus on "you have to pay", "not enough options for women", and some bugs (per App Store reviews).

5. Differentiation

  • There's almost nothing exclusive on the feature side: AI-generated plans (Fitbod / Gravl), automatic progressive overload (Fitbod / Alpha Progression), strength levels (Liftoff), an AI chat coach, and photo body scans (plenty of AI fitness apps have these). It's a mix of established mechanics. There's also a privacy angle, "data stays on your phone, no account needed", but no user reviews mention it.
  • The real difference is "native French, distributed through French gym culture": the same product built in English and advertised in the US would be generic. Fibi used French TikTok account matrices to reach the French Basic-Fit / Fitness Park crowd. That difference is why it broke out, but it's easy to copy and not deep.
  • Risks: 6 days after the chart run, the free chart ranking fell from #5 to #83, so there's no organic growth yet, and it drops off when content stops. Women-focused needs (1-star reviews) and nutrition photo logging (a suggestion in 4-star reviews) are still unaddressed.

6. How many people have seen it

  • Revenue isn't public. No TrustMRR listing, no founder posting numbers. Nobody discusses it on X, and there's no press coverage.
  • The data card from the recall mentions the developer is based in Dubai and hiring for iOS development (not verified in this search).
  • The developer account also has floai (skincare + nutrition, 2026-05,7 ratings) and FitSpy (shopping, 2026-08,3 ratings). Neither of those took off, so Fibi is his first breakout. The Orka app mentioned in the recall card doesn't appear on his Apple developer page (it may sit under a different account; not verified).
  • Bottom line: almost nobody knows about it yet. It's only been seen within the French TikTok fitness scene.

7. Copycats

I found no one specifically copying Fibi. But similar new French-language fitness apps have been appearing (Gymtone 2026-06, Stance 2026-07, Epilog 2026-08), and Rocapine's TDY is working the same French fitness pool with a similar playbook (7 days +116).

8. What others can learn

  • Pick a subscription category that's been validated in English but where no one is making content in smaller language markets, and localize the proven template directly.
  • Start the TikTok matrix on launch day: one big-follower account for endorsement, a male and female "real user" persona account, and a tips account, all using a shared voiceover "L'app c'est X", with hashtags borrowed from the biggest local offline brands (here, Basic-Fit and Fitness Park).
  • Hooks use a "secret exposed" framing: "Qui connaissait ?", "Pk ils ont caché ça", "Arrêtez de gatekeep".
  • Stack several local mid-tier creators at the chart-push moment to push the free chart into the top 5 in its category, which pulls the Top Grossing chart along.

9. Still unclear

  • The main source of about 100 ratings in 10-30~11-01 (Instagram? creators my search missed? rating prompts?).
  • Whether the @fibi.app account with 690k followers was bought or taken over, and whether creator deals were paid, and how much.
  • Actual subscriber count and retention, and whether the chart position holds after the push (the free chart is dropping fast right now).
  • Whether the developer has a team or studio doing this at scale (the recall card says Dubai-based and hiring, not verified).
