# 16 hand-drawn animals take turns reading the weather: a side project by a day-job worker, which squeezed into the UK weather chart's top 40 within four weeks of launch

**What it is** A picture-book style weather app: weather data comes from Apple, 16 hand-drawn characters each tell you today's weather in one handwritten line. The free tier is a complete weather app, and a subscription unlocks all the characters and their ongoing serialized stories.

**Why it blew up** The weather chart is almost all weather-bureau and radar tools, and the bar is low. A new app with charming art, Cute Widgets in its name, climbed it through store search alone. The free tier can replace the built-in weather app, and users will pay a subscription for the characters they like.

**B** **How to ride it** Stop chasing weather apps. Copy the formula: pick a category with ready data, something people check every day and that's full of tools on the charts (moon phase, tides, water intake, steps, cycle tracking). Wrap it in a character with a worldview and one line a day. Make the free tier complete and sell only the character as a subscription. Or localize the character weather idea for Japanese, Korean and German stores, using local art styles and proverbs.

Grade B: clear formula, low cost, one person can build it, and few people know about it yet. But it has only 70 ratings across all stores so far, its revenue can't be seen, it demands strong content and art style, and since October similar apps have been launching in bulk, so whether it can scale is still unproven. Few people know about it yet

On Oct 9, Cristian Critelli, a day-job engineer who handled network infrastructure for AWS in Europe, shipped a weather app to the App Store called Weather Fables: Cute Widgets. The weather data comes from Apple's own WeatherKit. All he built on top was 16 characters, each with a year's worth of non-repeating lines, and every morning one of them shows up to tell you what the day looks like. Four weeks later, it was #34 on the UK weather Top Free chart and peaked at #36 on Top Grossing. Volume is still small, but the playbook it proved, a cute character and a daily line stacked on top of ready-made data, can be copied across lots of utility apps.

### A five-star review: "I haven't switched weather apps in years"

Oct 22, a user named Melwolf75 in the US store wrote: "I haven't switched weather apps in years, but this one looks interesting. It's beautiful, gives plenty of weather info, and the widgets are great."

That about sums up its situation. A weather app is one of the hardest things on a phone to replace: the built-in one is good enough, and people can't be bothered to switch. What gets people to switch is looking different on the store page. What keeps them is being a solid weather app first.

Oct 26 Another review: "My favorite part is the folk weather sayings, and it even logs whether they match the real weather." Oct 27: "The free version should be enough, but the subscription is worth it."

### What it actually is

It opens like a picture book. Pythia runs the book, lantern in hand, with two Bengal cats at her side. 15 more characters each own a type of weather: Ares for thunderstorms, Kronos for wind, Vikis for snow, Timis for clear nights, a walrus who keeps dozing off for rain, a red dragon for heat waves, and Skully, a skeleton, who sends the warnings. Each one leaves a handwritten line every day. On a snow day Vikis writes "Starts at four. I checked twice. Wear proper boots." On a windy day Kronos writes "Windy by the sea, better inland. Take the low road. Ares insisted on the high one."

Characters have relationships: Nemesi and Ade are a pair of cats, Ares and Kronos are their sons; every character "hides something," and the story unfolds one line a day, never repeating within a year (App Store listing and official site, 11-06).

Underneath is a proper weather app: 10-day forecast, hourly breakdowns, feels-like temperature, UV index, air pressure, official alerts quoted straight from the issuing agency, home screen and lock screen widgets, and support for the extra-large sizes going all the way back to iOS 27. English only.

### What's free, and what they charge for

| | Free | Subscription (Whole Sky) |
|---|---|---|
| Who's Reporting | Only Pythia | All 16 characters. Let the sky pick one each day, or lock in a favorite. |
| Weather | 10-day forecast, daily breakdowns, all official alerts, multiple cities | Adds minute-by-minute precipitation and lock-screen rain cards, plus rain and frost alerts |
| Gameplay | One proverb a day | Will it be a good day to hang laundry, walk the dog or ride a bike? Judgment-call apps, 50 years of today's sky, hand-drawn wallpapers |

Pricing (UK store, 11-06): £3.99/month, £19.99/year, £79.99 one-time purchase. Family Sharing supported, free trial included. No ads, no sign-up required.

This cut is worth noting: the free tier is complete enough to replace the built-in Weather app outright, and users open it every day. What they pay for is the "other characters" and their storylines. Users are paying for affection toward the characters, not a more accurate forecast. The data is the same source as Apple's built-in Weather.

### How fast it grew

| Date | Total score across all countries | Added that day |
|---|---|---|
| 10-28 | 39 | — |
| 10-31 | 49 | 3 |
| 11-03 | 55 | 3 |
| 11-04 | 62 | 7 |
| 11-06 | 70 | 3 |

App Store ratings by country, 10-28 to 11-06. US store: 47 apps, averaging 4.96 stars. UK: 11. Canada: 9. Australia: 3. Two or three ratings a day, not fast, but it never stopped.

Chart (App Store Weather category, 10-28 to 11-06):

| Country | Best on the Top Free chart | best-selling chart |
|---|---|---|
| UK | #34 | #36 |
| Canada | #36 | #81 |
| Australia | #63 | #55 |
| US | #94 | #122 |

Charting on the Top Grossing list means people are actually subscribing. But the Weather category's bar for the chart is low, and there's no public revenue data, so I can't estimate the money.

### Where users come from

**Mostly store search, inferred.** The name says Cute Widgets, the subtitle is Funny characters & rain alerts, aimed right at searches like "cute widgets" and "funny weather." No media coverage, nobody on X or Reddit talks about it, yet it charts in four English-speaking countries at once. The most plausible explanation is organic store traffic.

**Second, the category itself has a low bar.** The UK Weather Top Free list's top 100 are mostly Met Office, BBC, AccuWeather, radar and thermometer apps. The only ones with personality are (Not Boring) Weather and CARROT (11-06). A couple of new ratings a day is enough to hold #30 in the chart, and the chart brings in views, so a small loop starts turning.

**Its own content barely drives downloads.** The developer's TikTok account has 163 posts and 40 followers. Weather Fables videos get a few hundred views and single-digit likes each (TikTok, 11-06). The Facebook page started posting "Weather Fables Free on AppStore" Reels in Oct 28. Whether they paid for promotion, I can't tell. The description ends with "From the makers of Lumen Grimoire," the developer's June diary app, which has only 72 ratings, so it doesn't pass along many users.

One more detail: he replies to every review in the voice of a character, such as "Nemesi says hi!" or "Ares says hello!" Release notes are written by the characters too: "Kronos checked every page, then asked for a snack." The characters are alive outside the store page.

### Who it's competing with

| Competitors | Scale (US store ratings, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| CARROT Weather | About 88k, Weather Top Free #9 | A snarky AI, with jokes, heavier data and radar. It leads this lane, going for humor rather than tenderness. |
| Weather Kitty | About 66k | Cat photos with weather. Swap the image, no story. |
| (Not Boring) Weather | About 19k | 3D animation and sound, a toy feel, no characters. |
| What The Forecast?!! | About 10k | Profane copy. |
| CuteWeather | About 7,500 | Cute icons and customizable widgets, competing for the same search terms. |
| Weather Pet, WeatherPets | 173 / 25 | Uses your own cat or dog as the star. |
| Bobara | Listed 11-09 | A capybara care game where the rain outside follows the real weather where you are. Filed under Entertainment. |
| Apple's built-in Weather. | Every iPhone | Same data source, no characters. |

"Weather apps with personality" have existed for a decade. This one didn't open a new category. It took an empty spot inside it: gentle tone, picture-book style, a cast of characters with a family tree, and a story that runs across the year. I haven't seen any sizable competitor in this spot yet.

But note that a batch of similar apps appeared in Oct 2026: Bobara was covered by Pocket Gamer; Meteorical: Feel-good Forecasts launched Oct 4; Pixel Weather: Retro launched Oct 20. There's also This Weather Ducks, and a Reddit post from someone who built a "weather app with animated companions" using Claude. The space is getting crowded, and more of the people entering are one person plus AI.

### If it were you

**My take:** don't try to outdo the weather itself. The formula is worth copying: take free or ready-made data, layer on a world-building cast and a different non-repeating line each day, make the free tier a full tool, and sell only the characters on subscription. The formula is cheap and one person can run it, but so far it has only shown it can cold-start and get people paying. It hasn't shown it can scale.

**Who it suits:** people who can draw or hold a consistent art style; people who can write short lines and are willing to write thousands of them; iOS developers who can make widgets and the lock screen look polished.

**Who it doesn't suit:** anyone counting on this one app to pay the bills; anyone who only generates images with AI and ends up with mismatched styles, since these apps sell on first-glance aesthetics that show up immediately in store screenshots; anyone unwilling to write content, because never repeating for a year means thousands of lines.

**How to do it:**

1. Apply the formula to another tool: moon phases and tides, water intake, steps, cycle tracking, countdowns, air quality. Pick a category people check every day, where the data already exists and the chart is full of utilitarian products.

2. Or do weather, but in another language and culture. It only exists in English. The weather charts in Japan, Korea and Germany are also dominated by utility apps. Characters with local art, local proverbs and local seasonal customs would be hard for this one to match in the short term, since translating character dialogue is expensive.

3. Price it like this one: full free tier, monthly and annual subscriptions, plus a premium one-time purchase and family sharing.

4. Keep the character voice across every touchpoint: widgets, notifications, release notes, review replies.

**How to get users:** ride the name and subtitle for search terms (the "cute widgets" type), use screenshots and icons to convert, and use the low category bar to chart. Its own TikTok hasn't taken off, which suggests this kind of product can't rely on self-posted video alone. To go the content route, find bloggers in journaling and widget customization whose style fits.

**Window closes** : within three months. Look-alikes are launching fast, so keyword and screenshot slots will fill up quickly. New-format windfalls like iOS 27's extra-large widgets only last a few months after the system ships.

**What would show I got this wrong:** (1) If by early next year it's still getting two or three ratings a day and hovering just outside #100 in the US store, the formula only reaches a tiny slice and won't scale. (2) If Bobara or another similar app fills the "cute weather" search results and it drops out of the UK top 100, the position isn't unique to it. Whoever has the more appealing art wins, and being first doesn't help. (3) The other way around: if it charts in non-English countries after adding languages, then "localize and clone" works, and you should start on it right away.

Where users come from

- Inferred **Store search / ASO** : named Cute Widgets, subtitled Funny characters & rain alerts. Charts in four English-speaking storefronts at once with no external coverage. A review says "haven't changed weather apps in years, this one looks fun."

- **Verified** **Long-tail exposure in the weather chart** : the UK Weather Top Free #34 needs roughly 1 new ratings a day to hold. Five storefronts have charted every day since 2026-10-28 (appstore database).

- **Verified** **Self-run TikTok** : @xrkc6x.dev has 163 posts and 40 followers. Weather Fables videos get 250–750 views each. A Lumen Grimoire video from June has over 30k views but only 4–11 likes, which looks like paid boosting. Unverified.

- **Verified** **Facebook page Reels** : the Syderalis Studio page has posted "Free on AppStore" Reels since 10-28. Whether ads are being run is unknown (our ad library doesn't track this page).

- **Verified** **Cross-promotion between the site and the older product** : download links on syderalis.com carry the campaign parameter ct=weatherfables-site. The description says "From the makers of Lumen Grimoire," which has only 72 ratings.

- Inferred **Media / X / Reddit / creators** : x-radar shows 60 mentions in the last 0 days. Jina, Exa and Brave found no coverage or posts.

## Why Weather Fables: Cute Widgets (iOS 6809489669) made it onto the charts

> Research date 2026-11-06. Data sources: our appstore database (agent-im machine, daily since 2026-10-28), Apple lookup API and App Store web pages, developer site syderalis.com, TikTok (TikHub), x-radar, Jina / Exa / Brave search. Our ad library can't see it, but it was never on the tracking list, so not finding ads there doesn't mean it isn't running any.

### Bottom line

This is an indie developer's (Cristian Critelli, whose day job is head of AWS EMEA networking and resilience, and who builds apps on the side) weather app built on **Apple WeatherKit's ready-made data, plus hand-drawn picture-book characters and a year of non-repeating copy** . It got onto the charts for three reasons:

1. The weather category's chart bar is low, and it has long been dominated by Met Office, AccuWeather, radar and thermometer tools. Stylized apps are rare, so a new app with an appealing art style had room.

2. The name and subtitle literally say cute widgets / funny characters, which catches searches for nice-looking weather widgets.

3. The paywall is built to convert: the free tier is a complete weather app, the subscription unlocks all 16 characters, and there's a one-time purchase tier.

But to be clear, the absolute numbers are still small: the whole storefront has 70 ratings in total, #34 on the UK free weather chart and #94 in the US. This is a small-scale cold-start win, not a hit product.

### 1. Basic data

| items | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Launched | 2026-10-09, current version 1.0.4 (2026-10-31) | Apple lookup |
| Developer | Cristian Critelli (App Store developer id 1887663603), brand Syderalis, TikTok account xrkc6x.dev | lookup;syderalis.com |
| Other apps from the same developer | Lumen Grimoire: Journal (2026-06-09, 72 US ratings; our database only has 2026-11-06 records of it over 1 days, never charted), Space Puzzle: Orbit Lock, Wyrmlight: Space Defender (two mini-games, ratings close to 0) | lookup; appstore library |
| Language / size / OS requirement | English only; 161.7 MB; iOS 26.0+ | lookup |
| Pricing (UK store) | Free download; Whole Sky £3.99/month or £19.99/year (both support Family Sharing), or £79.99 one-time purchase; there's a free trial (the 1.0.4 update notes mention "two reminders before the trial ends") | App Store gb page |
| Rating | 47 US ratings, average 4.96 | lookup 2026-11-06 |

**Ratings count (our database, all storefronts combined)** : 2026-10-28 is 39, 2026-11-06 is 70, 10 days ago it added 31, in the last 7 days it added 24, roughly 2–3 per day. By storefront: US 29→47, UK 2→11, Canada 6→9, Australia 2→3.

**Weather category chart rank (appstore database, app_day table)**

| Store | Best on the Top Free chart | best-selling chart | Trend |
|---|---|---|---|
| gb | #34(11-06) | #36(11-02) | On the chart every day since 10-28, Top Grossing between #36 and #84 |
| ca | #36(11-05) | #81(10-30) | Top Free bouncing between #36 and #103 |
| au | #63(11-06) | #55(11-01) | |
| us | #94(11-06) | #122(11-04) | Top Free climbed from #171 to #94 on 11-02 |

It reached the **Top Grossing** chart (UK #36, Australia #55), so people are clearly buying subscriptions. But the bar for the weather category's Top Grossing chart is low, so this rank only shows that there are paying users, not how much money is coming in.

### 2. Competitors: who else is making "characterful / cute weather apps"?

The "US ratings" column comes from the appstore database app_snapshot or Apple's lookup, all dated 2026-11-06.

| Product | Platform | Launched | Scale (US ratings) | How it differs from Weather Fables |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CARROT Weather(Grailr) | iOS | 2015 | 87,953; US weather Top Free #9 | The forefather of this lane: a snarky AI persona with heavy data and radar, a humor route. Weather Fables goes for a gentle picture-book and literary route, with 16 characters who have family ties and a yearly storyline. |
| Weather Kitty(Weather Creative) | iOS | 2013 | 65,684 | Sells "cat photos with weather": swap the pictures, no story |
| (Not Boring) Weather | iOS | 2021 | 18,979; UK / US Top Free #19 / #22 | 3D animation, sound effects and a toy feel, with no characters or narrative |
| What The Forecast?!! | iOS | 2015 | 10,049; US #95 | Crude-joke copy, no character world |
| Hello Weather | iOS | 2016 | 9,609 | Minimal, can switch data sources, doesn't go the cute route |
| CuteWeather(Skyrocket Apps) | iOS | 2020 | 7,504 | Kawaii icons, wallpaper plus widget customization, weekly subscription on the pricey side (per macmyths 2026-10-18 review). It's the veteran rival on the "cute widget" search term. |
| Weawow | iOS / Android | 2017(iOS 2021) | 7,537; US #98 | Photographic wallpapers, free with no ads |
| Weather Pet(Alpha Paw) | iOS | 2025-03 | 173 | Uses the developer's own cats and dogs as weather characters, pet UGC route |
| WeatherPets(Relative Industries) | iOS | 2026-04 | 25 | Cat and dog weather plus dog-walking safety tips |
| Skydex / CapyCast / Pixel Weather: Retro Forecast | iOS | 2026-03 to 2026-10 | 77 / 0 / 1 | Pixel style plus collectibles, neither gained traction |
| Bobara(Lotus Apps) | iOS / Watch / TV | Pre-order, 2026-11-09 release | Covered by Pocket Gamer 2026-10-15 | Capybara care game, rain outside follows local real-time weather; categorized as Entertainment, not a weather app |
| Apple's built-in Weather | Big-company features | — | All iPhones | Same data source as Weather Fables (WeatherKit), no characters. Weather Fables is effectively that data with a narrative skin on top. |

A few observations:

- **"Weather apps with personality" have been around for a while** . CARROT and Weather Kitty are decade-old products, so Weather Fables isn't opening a new category; it carves out a new spot inside it: gentle picture-book, literary, 16 characters with serialized storylines. I didn't find any scaled competitor in that spot.

- **2026 October, a wave of "cute weather" apps is starting** : Bobara (covered by media), Meteorical: Feel-good Forecasts (10-04 launch, see the LinkedIn post), Meteopolis (10-20 published an SEO article on cute weather apps), Pixel Weather: Retro (10-20), This Weather Ducks: The Unhinged Weather App, and a post on r/ClaudeAI saying "I built an iOS weather app with an animated companion…" (couldn't read the post body). Weather Fables showed up early in this wave and is currently the one with the clearest traction.

### 3. Growth levers: where users come from

| Channel | Evidence | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Store search / ASO | The name includes "Cute Widgets", the subtitle is "Funny characters & rain alerts", directly targeting search terms like "cute widgets" and "funny weather". A US review reads "I have not changed my weather app in years but this one looked interesting" (Melwolf75,10-22), which sounds like someone downloaded it after seeing the icon and screenshots in the store. It charted in four English-speaking storefronts at once with no external press, which fits the pattern of organic search bringing in volume. | Inference, fairly strong evidence |
| Long-tail exposure from the category chart | Top Free #34 on the UK weather chart, with roughly 1 new ratings a day. Charting itself brings browsing exposure, which feeds a small loop. | Data confirmed |
| Self-run TikTok | @xrkc6x.dev has posted 163 videos with only 40 followers. Weather Fables videos (10-27 to 11-05) get 250–750 views and 0–3 likes each. Lumen Grimoire videos from June get 3.0–38k views but only 4–11 likes; that view-to-like ratio looks like paid promotion (Promote), but I haven't verified it. | Account and data confirmed; the traffic effect is weak |
| Facebook page "Syderalis Studio" | Starting 10-28, it has been posting Reels like "Weather Fables Free on AppStore #weather". Our Meta ad library doesn't have this page (it's not on our tracking list). | Page existence confirmed; whether it runs ads is unclear |
| Website referrals | The download link on syderalis.com/weatherfables carries App Store campaign parameters `pt=128660334&ct=weatherfables-site`, so the developer is tracking the channel with App Analytics. | Confirmed |
| Cross-promotion between the developer's apps | The description ends with "From the makers of Lumen Grimoire", and both apps are listed side by side on the website. But Lumen Grimoire itself only has 72 ratings, so the traffic it can pass over is limited. | Confirmed to exist, small volume |
| Media / X / Reddit / HN / creators | x-radar: over the last 60 days, searches for "Weather Fables", "syderalis" and "Lumen Grimoire" each return 0 posts; Jina, Exa and Brave turn up no media coverage or Reddit threads; the cute weather reviews (macmyths, meteopolis) don't mention it. | Confirmed none |
| Apple editorial features | No evidence found | Unknown |
| Review ops | The developer replies to every review in character ("Nemesi says hi! 🐾😽", "Ares says hello!"). No sign of a prompt asking for a good rating. | Confirmed they reply to reviews. Unclear whether they prompt for ratings. |

### 4. Why it took off

1. **Empty category slot.** The Weather chart is almost all government and met offices (Met Office, BBC, AEMET), radar and thermometer tools, and legacy data apps. Very few products talk about style or mood. In our library, 11-06 UK Weather free chart entries sit in the top 100, and only (Not Boring) and CARROT have a personality. The bar is low, so a clearly different-looking app can get charted.

2. **The free tier is a complete weather app.** 10-day forecast, hourly, detail metrics, full official alerts, and home and lock screen widgets (including the XL size on iOS 27) are all free, with no ads and no sign-up. Users can swap it in for the built-in weather app, and once it's the one they open, daily use is already the baseline for retention.

3. **The subscription sells emotional content and deeper features.** Paying unlocks 15 more characters, plus a year of non-repeating story lines and dialogue. Add minute-by-minute rain alerts, "should I do laundry, walk the dog, or ride today" answers, 50-year same-day sky comparisons, and drawn wallpapers. One review says "I'm sure the free version is fine but it's worth the subscription" (Tiffembermabe, 10-27), which suggests people pay for the characters. Charting on the UK and Australia Top Grossing lists is supporting evidence. The £79.99 one-time purchase tier is a high anchor for superfans.

4. **Very lean cost structure.** Weather data comes from Apple WeatherKit, with the free quota that comes with the developer program. Illustrations and copy are a one-time investment. One person can maintain it as a side project.

5. **Timing.** The XL widget on iOS 27 and the just-launched iPhone Duo (foldable) were both adapted right away in 1.0.4, with release notes written in character. Also, autumn 2026 coincided with rising buzz around "cute weather apps" (Bobara coverage, several SEO review posts), which may have lifted search interest. There's no search volume data to verify that.

6. **Execution quality and word of mouth.** 5.0 rating; reviews keep using the words beautiful, whimsy, practical. The website turns the 16 characters, family ties, and daily lines into a picture book, and the depth of the world is rare in this category.

### 5. Differentiation

- **Versus CARROT / What The Forecast:** those two are a sarcastic persona with jokes. Weather Fables is a picture-book world with 16 characters who have family trees and secrets, and the lines progress like an annual serial, never repeating. It sells companionship and collecting, not punchlines.

- **Versus Weather Kitty / CuteWeather / Weather Pet:** those swap images or skins and have no narrative. This one has character story arcs. It also adds a game layer: folk weather proverbs are checked against your real sky, each marked as coming true or not, scored across the year. I haven't seen that in the category.

- **Versus Apple's built-in Weather:** same data source, so it doesn't need to compete on accuracy, only on mood and style. That's also why the free tier can be so full.

- **Is differentiation why it broke out?** Partly. Differentiation makes it recognizable at a glance in screenshots and icons (ASO conversion), and it's why users are willing to pay for characters (Top Grossing charting). But absolute volume is still small. Current exposure comes mainly from a low-bar weather category plus keyword naming, not from differentiation spreading on its own: no organic word of mouth, no press, TikTok hasn't taken off. In other words, differentiation is working at the conversion end, not yet at the acquisition end.

### 6. How many people have seen it

- Revenue isn't public (not on TrustMRR, and the developer hasn't shared numbers), there's no press coverage, nobody is discussing it on X or Reddit, and the TikTok account has only 40 followers. **Still under the radar.**

- Copycats: it's too early to call this copying, but a parallel wave of "cute or characterful weather and companion apps" appeared at the same time, including Bobara (11-09 listed), Meteorical, Pixel Weather: Retro, This Weather Ducks, and an animated companion weather app on Reddit. This suggests the niche is getting crowded.

### 7. What others can learn

- **The formula: public data + character narrative layer.** Use free or existing data underneath (WeatherKit, HealthKit steps, calendar, moon phase, tides), then layer characters with a world and one non-repeating daily line on top. The reason to open it daily comes from content, not features. Calendar, steps, water intake, horoscope, and tide tools can all use this pattern.

- **Make the free tier a complete tool, and sell only emotional content and premium features.** Add monthly and annual subscriptions, a high one-time purchase, and family sharing.

- **Pick a category with a low charting bar where competitors all feel like utilities.** Use keyword-led naming like "Cute Widgets" to capture search traffic.

- **Character voice across the whole experience.** Release notes, review replies, and notifications all speak in character, so users feel the characters are alive.

- Adapt to new OS features (XL widgets, new devices) on day one and write it into the release notes.

### 8. What's still uncertain

- Whether they run Apple Search Ads or Meta ads: the Facebook page is posting Reels, but our ad library doesn't track this page. The TikTok data for Lumen Grimoire looks like paid boosting, which is also unverified.

- Whether they got an Apple editorial feature: no evidence.

- Retention, subscription conversion, and real revenue: Apple doesn't disclose these, and the Weather category's low charting bar means the Top Grossing placement can't be turned into a dollar figure.

- English only. Whether it can scale in non-English markets is unknown, and localizing character narratives is expensive.

- Will the "cute weather" wave flood keyword bidding and impressions? Watch whether Bobara 11-09 siphons off traffic after launch.

- Whether growth can be sustained: it currently gets 2–3 ratings a day, and the US free chart has swung between #94 and #171. No inflection point yet.
