> Turks already pay for astrology, and a few local players have already made it work. This developer used an LLM to build long, readable reports solo. They run an account on Instagram and TikTok that keeps launching new apps, and this one brought its first users on launch day. The store page is dressed up as a breakup recovery tool, likely to get around Apple's review rules for astrology apps (inference).

# The store page says "Walking Away from a Breakup", but opening it gives you a birth chart: an AI astrology subscription from a Turkish developer aged 20

**What it is** A Turkish-language AI birth chart app: you enter your birth details and get a 14-chapter personal chart report and a 10-chapter relationship compatibility report, plus a daily piece of advice and per-question Ask credits. Opening it means subscribing, at ₺300 to ₺400 a month.

**Why it took off** Turks already pay for horoscopes, and a few local players had proven it. It used an LLM to produce long reports that read well, built by one person. The developer runs an Instagram and TikTok account that keeps launching new apps, which brought the first users on day one. The store page is dressed up as a breakup-recovery tool, which probably helped get past Apple's review of astrology apps (inference).

**C** **How you could follow it** Don't go after Turkey. If your home market is willing to pay for astrology and has few local products, start with a web subscription. Do only the personal report and the compatibility report, get the chart calculation right, offer a free entry point, and cold-start with short videos of yourself saying "I built an app".

C grade: Turkey already has four or five local astrology apps dozens of times bigger. Haritan itself has only 139 ratings and is estimated at a few to a dozen orders a day, so it's small. New astrology apps on the App Store get rejected as a saturated category, and its category-switching packaging carries takedown risk. The formula is worth learning, but copying it wholesale isn't a good bet. Few people know about it yet

Haritan is an AI astrology app built by Ömer Salih Sarı, a 20-year-old indie dev in Turkey. You enter your birth time and place and get a 14-chapter personal chart report. Add a second person and you get a 10-chapter compatibility report. Subscribe to see either. It launched 6 weeks ago, only in the Turkey store, with 139 ratings, and has been charting between #75 and #140 in Turkey's Lifestyle Top Grossing. It didn't invent a new category. Turkey already has several astrology apps much bigger than this one. Three things to take from it: an old category people have always paid for, AI letting one person ship a solid long-form report, and a dev who runs a content account that keeps launching new apps.

### "The app's name is a bit weird, but it got me back together"

In Sep 2026 20, Ömer Salih Sarı posted a reel on Instagram captioned with one line: "ismi haritan, app store'da falan yayında" (it's called Haritan, it's on the App Store and all). It got 359 likes. A comment said that every time they scroll past, he's launched another app, and that he's probably the fastest app maker in the country. A week later, the same clip had 10.4k views on TikTok, captioned "really absurdly useful, go check it out" (TikTok, 11-06).

Three days later, a five-star review appeared on the Turkish App Store under the title "ex değil next" (not the ex, the next one). The body said the name made you a bit suspicious, but it got them back together.

The name isn't the only thing that raises eyebrows. Haritan's App Store description reads as a breakup-recovery tool: "After a relationship ends, it's sometimes hard to get back to yourself." The features list tracking days of no contact, picking one emotion a day, breathing exercises, and a few suggestions when you feel like texting your ex. Not one word about astrology on the page.

The developer's own reels say "use Haritan to explore your chart and analyze relationship compatibility." The official site haritan.app opens with "Translating the sky at the moment you were born into a guide you can actually read." Several update titles were "Who does your chart look like?" and "Astrology events page." An Oct 29 comment reads: "Finally, a genuinely good birth chart reading." In Turkish, Haritan already means "your chart" (harita means both map and birth chart).

The developer has never explained the gap between the store page and the actual product. The likeliest explanation: Apple's review guideline 4.3(b) lists fortune-telling and dating as "already saturated" categories, so a new astrology app is easily rejected as a duplicate. Framing it as breakup recovery gets it through review, and the chart is switched on later through updates (inference). Supporting evidence: since August 2026, almost no new astrology apps have launched on the Turkish App Store.

### What it sells and what it costs

Enter your birth date, time, and place (if you don't know the hour, it asks a set of questions to estimate one). You get:

- A 14-chapter personal chart report: personality, shadow side, love, and career;

- A 10-chapter relationship compatibility report: attraction score, difficulty score, and how the two of you get along;

- One piece of daily advice and one "red line" (what not to do today);

- 3 questions a day, answered based on your chart.

The reports are generated by an LLM. The privacy policy on the official site says OpenRouter is used. The stack is Supabase, Vercel, and RevenueCat, with web payments going through Dodo Payments. It's a standard setup one person can assemble. In 6 weeks it shipped 7 versions (1.0 to 2.4).

Prices (Turkish App Store in-app purchase list, 11-06):

| Project | Pricing |
|---|---|
| Weekly subscription | ₺199.99 |
| Monthly subscription | ₺299.99 / ₺399.99 |
| Annual subscription | ₺1,999.99 / ₺2,499.99 |
| Question credit packs | 5 questions ₺79.99,10 ₺149.99,25 ₺299.99 |
| Add another person | ₺99.99 |
| Web Premium | ₺478.80 per month (tax included) |

In Turkey, ₺300 to ₺400 a month isn't cheap, but this category's users can afford it, as discussed below. The web version lets you sign up for free and read the daily advice. The iPhone version opens straight to a paywall. Nearly every negative review hits on this: "I don't even know this app yet, why should I pay first? A trial period, or watching ads for extra credits, would make more sense." (10-25, one star) Another one-star review was harsher: the planets were in the wrong signs and houses, and when they asked the developer, the answer was "but it describes who you are quite accurately" (09-24).

### Where users come from

**The developer's own accounts.** Ömer's Instagram @omersalih.psd has 7,300 followers. His TikTok @omersalihpsd has 4,600 followers and 300k likes. The persona is simple: 20 years old, shipping new apps one after another. The 10.4k-view TikTok is the only Haritan video to pass 10k. The rest of his videos get 1,000 to 7,000 (11-06).

**Cross-promotion between his apps.** He and his friends sit under a collective brand called KUME. The same Instagram profile links Denk, Mivkat, Dancy, and Haritan. Denk launched in August. It compares two people's photos for the time and place to work out "were we ever in the same place before?" It now has 201 ratings. Each new app puts the users of the earlier ones in front of a new audience.

**Store search (inference).** The name itself matches harita and doğum haritası (birth chart), the words Turks most often type when searching for charts.

**Rating prompt (inference).** After the Oct 28 2.4 version shipped, daily new ratings went from 0 to 10 to 18 (10-30 to 11-03), with an average of 4.7. But half of the reviews that include text are one-star. The star rating and the text's tone don't match, which suggests the app prompts for a rating.

**Paid acquisition: unconfirmed.** The App Store privacy label says it collects purchase history and device identifiers for third-party ad tracking, but the official privacy policy says it doesn't use ad networks. It may have an attribution SDK installed in preparation for ads, or the labels may just have been filled in loosely.

No press coverage, nobody discussing it on X or Reddit, and the developer hasn't shared revenue.

### How it's doing: small, but people are paying

| Date | Cumulative ratings (Turkish store) |
|---|---|
| 10-28 | 77 |
| 11-01 | 105 |
| 11-03 | 121 |
| 11-06 | 139 |

52 added over the last 7 days. That's not a small number among Turkish astrology apps: over the same period Ms Astro added +36 and Astrology Master +17. Only the established Kismet (+121) and Kaave (+257) added more (Turkish App Store, 11-06).

On the charts, its best showing on the Turkey Lifestyle Top Grossing chart is #75 (10-31). In Nov 6 it hit #123, and it has never made the overall chart. That position roughly corresponds to a few to a dozen subscriptions a day (estimated). There's no Android version, and people in the Instagram comments keep asking for one.

### Who it's competing with

Turkey is a big market for astrology apps. Local players have proven paid models for years (Turkish App Store, 11-06):

| Product | Scale | Compared with Haritan |
|---|---|---|
| Kismet (Turkish company, 2019) | 45k ratings, Lifestyle Top Grossing #32 | Tarot, astrology, live readings, everything |
| Ms Astro(2023) | 37k ratings, Top Grossing #24 | Big scale, driven by paid acquisition |
| Astromatik (Turkey, 2024-10) | 7,712 rating, Top Paid #27 | The most direct rival: also AI plus Turkish-language charts |
| Astrology Master (Turkish indie developer, 2021) | 8,118 rating, Top Paid #25 | More of a calculation tool |
| Mudita(2023) | Only 191 ratings, Top Grossing #9 | Small products can still rank high, which shows people here will spend money |
| Kaave(2012) | 146k ratings | Coffee fortune-telling, a veteran tarot app |
| Co-Star, The Pattern | 1,692 / 460 rating | Mostly English, weak localization |

Two more invisible rivals: free sites like astro-seek and astro.com produce charts at no cost, though you have to read them yourself. ChatGPT can also read a chart if you paste one in. Haritan sells the calculation, the prompts, the compatibility reports, and daily pushes bundled together, and writes them so they're easier to read.

Mudita is the one to watch: 191 ratings and it reached #9 on the Top Grossing chart. Turkish astrology users have high willingness to pay, so a small app only needs to keep a handful of paying users to chart. Haritan takes the same route. Its difference is in the product details: it only does "me" and "me and them" long reports, the tone is literary, like something that coaches your self-reflection, with reading lists and images mixed in (the five-star review from 11-04 specifically praised this). These got it good reviews, but its growth mainly comes from demand that already existed in the category, AI that lets one person build it, and the developer's own accounts.

### If it were you

**The short take** : don't go up against it in Turkey. There are already four or five local products there dozens of times bigger. The formula is worth copying: an old category where people already pay, use AI to turn long-form content that used to need human writers into reports, build in the native language, and have the developer post launch content. But on astrology this formula stays small, and the review risk is high.

**Who it's for** : people whose native language has high willingness to pay for astrology and few localized products (which languages are empty, you have to count yourself on each local store's Lifestyle Top Grossing chart, don't assume); people who can post short videos consistently, or already have an account with a few thousand followers.

**Who it's not for** : anyone aiming at the main battlegrounds like English or Turkish; anyone with no traffic of their own who expects organic store installs (Haritan had only 139 ratings in its first 6 weeks); anyone who can't live with the risk of Apple rejecting or pulling the app.

**How to build it** : start with a web app, take monthly payments through Stripe or similar. That avoids Apple's "saturated category" review limits and the Apple cut. The product should only do two things: a personal long report and a pairing report for two people; send one recommendation and one "what not to do today" every day so people come back daily. The chart calculations need a reliable library, since one of the harshest reviews was "planet positions are all wrong." Give a free entry point (like the first two chapters of the pairing report), don't hit people with a paywall on open like Haritan does. If you go to the App Store, submit honestly under astrology rather than repackaging it into another category like Haritan did: once discovered, the rejection may cover more than this one app.

**How to get users** : the developer appears on camera, posting a running "I built an app" series on TikTok and Instagram. Pairing reports with shareable scores (attraction 87, difficulty 42) are the best material, because users share them themselves. If you have several products, link them under one brand and cross-promote, like KUME does.

**When to move** : there's no hard deadline. Astrology demand runs year-round, with small peaks around Valentine's Day and the start of the year ("your chart for the new year"), which you can aim for.

**Signs you've read it wrong** : (1) Haritan enters the Turkish Lifestyle Top Grossing top 30 within 3 months, or the developer posts monthly revenue above a few thousand dollars, which would mean "one person plus AI" can earn real money in this category and the rating should go up; (2) Haritan gets pulled or stops updating because the store page doesn't match the features, which would mean the route of getting through review under another category doesn't work and you have to face the astrology review directly to go on the App Store; (3) someone reaches the same position in another language using the same playbook, which would mean the formula transfers and you should move fast.

## Why Haritan (iOS id6811393805) got traction

> Research date 2026-11-06. Regions checked: the appstore library scanned all storefronts, and only tr (Turkey) charted consistently; 11-01 appeared on the az Top Free chart and 11-02 on the de Top Grossing chart, each for one day only with 1–2 ratings (negligible).

### One line

A Turkish indie developer, 20 years old, Ömer Salih Sarı, built a Turkish-language AI birth chart and relationship pairing app that puts a hard paywall up on open (weekly/monthly/annual subscriptions plus per-question credit packs). It holds 75–140 on the Turkish Lifestyle Top Grossing chart, for three reasons: (1) the Turkish birth chart paid market was already big, and local products had already validated it; (2) the developer runs an Instagram/TikTok content account of the "I built another app" type and posted clips himself on launch day to drive installs; (3) the store page presents the app as a "breakup recovery / no contact" tool (likely to get past Apple's review of astrology as a "saturated category"), while the app actually delivers charts. Scale is still small: 6 ratings over 139 weeks, no media coverage, and no public revenue figures.

### 1. Basic data

| items | Data | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Launched | 2026-09-20,6 versions shipped in 7 weeks (1.0 → 2.4, latest 10-28) | App Store TR version history |
| Rating | 139 (11-06); at 10-28 it was 77,9 days with +62 ratings; last 7 days +52; average rating 4.7 | App Store database app_day; iTunes lookup |
| Daily new ratings | 10-29 0 → 10-30 +10 → 11-01 +13 → 11-03 +18 → afterwards 3–8 per day | appstore library app_day (tr) |
| Charts | TR Lifestyle Top Free chart 78–152; TR Lifestyle Top Grossing best 75 (10-31), later fell to 11-06 123; not on the overall chart | appstore library, chart_rank |
| Market | Turkey only (the interface is Turkish only; the store language field says EN); no Android version (an Instagram comment asked "when is Android coming") | App Store; Instagram reel comments |
| Pricing (in-app) | Weekly ₺199.99; monthly ₺299.99 / ₺399.99; annual ₺1,999.99 / ₺2,499.99; question credit packs 5 questions for ₺79.99 / 10 questions for ₺149.99 / 25 questions for ₺299.99; adding one person ₺99.99 | App Store TR in-app purchase list |
| Pricing (web) | Premium monthly 478.80 TL (tax included), via Dodo Payments | haritan.app |
| Tech stack | Supabase + Vercel + OpenRouter (AI report generation) + RevenueCat + Dodo Payments, a typical indie AI wrapper stack | haritan.app/privacy |

**Quick comparison** : over the last 7 days, +52 ratings, which is not small among Turkish astrology apps. Over the same period Ms Astro gained +36, Astrology Master +17, Astromatik −3, and only Kismet (+121) and Kaave (+257) were higher (appstore library app_profile, tr, 11-06). The Turkish Lifestyle Top Grossing chart has a low bar: Mudita had only 191 ratings and still reached #9. Haritan sits at #75–140, which points to steady but small revenue.

### 2. What the product actually is: the store page and the real product don't match

- **App Store description** (Turkish) says it's about "finding yourself again after a breakup": tracking days since contact, daily mood, breathing exercises, advice when you want to message an ex, and nonjudgmental AI advice. It never mentions astrology.

- **The website haritan.app** says: "Translate the sky at the moment you were born into a guide you can read." Content includes 14 chapters of a personal chart report, 10 chapters of a relationship pairing report (attraction score, difficulty score), one recommendation and one "red line" per day, and 3 chart-based questions per day; it uses the Placidus house system, and when birth time is unknown it estimates it through a Q&A.

- **Release notes** are all about chart features: 2.2 "Who does your chart look like?", 2.4 "astrological event pages, recommendations for you, deep interpretations."

- **User reviews** also talk about charts: "Finally a truly good birth chart reading" (10-29).

- **The developer's launch reel** (2026-09-20/26) caption: "it's called haritan, it's already up on the App Store" "use Haritan to explore your chart and analyze relationship compatibility" (Instagram @omersalih.psd, reel DdwfrD6M0_x).

- "Haritan" in Turkish means "your map / your chart" (harita = map, chart).

**Inferred (unverified)** : Apple's review guideline 4.3(b) lists fortune telling and dating as "saturated categories," and new astrology apps are easily rejected as "spam." Labeling the store page as a "breakup recovery / no contact tool" can get through review and lowers the risk for a new account; after launch, the chart features can be added through updates. The library also offers circumstantial support: since 2026-08 almost no new astrology apps have launched in the Turkish storefront (searching the app table by name in the appstore library turned up only a few, like AstroLife, and none are charting). Separately, the App Store privacy label declares "used for tracking: purchases, identifiers, usage data (third-party ads)," while the website privacy policy says "no ad identifiers collected and no third-party ad networks," which contradicts itself. The most likely explanation is that a Meta/TikTok attribution SDK is installed ahead of paid acquisition, or the labels were just filled in carelessly.

### 3. Competitors

Turkey is a big market for astrology apps, and local products have already proven they can make money:

| Product | Where | Launched | Scale (TR, 11-06, appstore library) | How it differs from Haritan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kismet - Tarot, Astrology (Somon Teknoloji, Turkish company) | iOS/Android | 2019 | 45,122 rating, 7 days +121, Lifestyle Top Grossing #32 | A mix of tarot, astrology and live readings. Haritan only does natal charts and synastry, with AI-generated long reports. |
| Astromatik: AI Astrology (Astroloop, Turkey) | iOS/Android | 2024-10 | 7,712 rating, Top Grossing #27; TikTok official account videos with 60k views | The most direct rival, also "AI + Turkish-language natal chart reports". Haritan is more personal and more literary, and puts its focus on relationship synastry. |
| Astrology Master (ibrahim veli, Turkish solo developer) | iOS/Android | 2021 | 8,118 rating, Top Paid #25 | More of a chart calculation tool; Haritan leans toward readable narrative reports |
| Ms Astro(Astro Labs) | iOS | 2023 | 36,600 rating, Top Paid #24 | Large scale, paid-acquisition route |
| Mudita: Astrology & Horoscope(anil can) | iOS | 2023 | 191 rating, yet Top Grossing #9 | Shows Turkish natal-chart users have very high ARPU, so small products can still make money. |
| Kaave(Didilabs) | iOS/Android | 2012 | 146,296 rating, Top Free #17 | Coffee reading and tarot. An old-timer. |
| Co–Star / The Pattern | iOS (US) | 2017 | TR 1,692 / 460 ratings, Top Grossing #80 / #69 | Mostly English, weak localization |
| Cosmic: Soulmate(Cuneyt Cinkilinc) | iOS | 2025-09 | 1,264 rating, Top Paid #98 | A "AI draws your soulmate" gimmick. Haritan goes the long-report route. |
| astro-seek / astro.com / hesaplama.net | Web | Years | Free birth chart generation | Free, but you have to interpret it yourself. Haritan translates the chart into plain-language reports. |
| General-purpose large models like ChatGPT | Big-company features | — | — | Users can paste their chart into an AI to get a reading. Haritan packages the calculations, prompts and synastry into one product. |
| No Contact: Breakup Support / NoEx, etc. | iOS | 2026-07/09 | Not charted | Haritan's store page borrows this category, but it doesn't actually compete there. |

Verdict: **no shortage of competitors** . Turkey alone has 4–5 natal-chart apps much bigger than it. Haritan didn't open a new category.

### 4. Growth tactics

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Founder's personal content account (Instagram/TikTok, build-in-public) | Developer @omersalih.psd has 7.3K followers, and his bio reads "creator @kumekolektif @appdenk". On launch day he posted a reel, "ismi haritan, app store'da falan yayında" ("it's called Haritan, it's on the App Store or something"), which got 359 likes. A commenter wrote "every time I see you you've made another app, you're the fastest app developer in the country". His TikTok @omersalihpsd has 4.6K followers and 300k likes. 09-27 one video, "really ridiculously good, go check it out", got 10.4k views, and his other videos got 1–7K views. | Confirmed |
| Cross-promotion across the product lineup (KUME collective) | @kumekolektif ties together @appdenk, @mivkat, @catmiucan, @haritan.app and @dancyapp. The earlier product Denk ("Have we ever been in the same place?", matching photo time and location, also dating/astrology-adjacent, launched 2026-08) has 201 ratings. | Confirmed to exist. How much traffic each one actually sent to the others is unknown. |
| Store search | The name "Haritan" directly collides with Turkish search terms like "harita / doğum haritası" (birth chart). It sits in the Lifestyle category, and the store copy is written around breakup-recovery keywords. | Inferred |
| Rating prompt | After the 2.4 version (10-28) launched, daily new ratings rose from 0 to 10–18, with an average of 4.7. But about half of those who write text reviews are complaining "it asks for money as soon as you open it". The star ratings and the text reviews don't match in sentiment, which suggests the app prompts for ratings in-app. | Inferred |
| Paid acquisition | The privacy label declares third-party ad tracking. The metaads library didn't catch it (the library only tracks advertisers on its list, so no result doesn't mean no ads). | Unconfirmed |
| Media / X / Reddit | Jina search and x-radar both returned nothing. The developer's X account @salihpsd has only 1.6K followers. | None |

### 5. Why it took off

1. **The category has already been validated** : Turkish people will pay for natal charts and relationship readings. Kismet, Ms Astro, Astromatik and Mudita are all in the top 30 of Lifestyle Top Grossing. Haritan doesn't have to educate the market, and it's willing to price the subscription at ₺300–400/month.

2. **AI has pushed the cost of "chart interpretation" close to zero** : the 14-chapter and 10-chapter long reports and the daily questions are all generated via OpenRouter. One person can build in a few weeks what used to need an astrologer's content team (the privacy policy on the website says it uses OpenRouter).

3. **The founder brings some built-in traffic** : Instagram plus TikTok add up to roughly 12k followers. The persona is "20 years old, always shipping apps", and the first batch of users and ratings came from there.

4. **Hard paywall, collect money first** : you have to subscribe as soon as you open it, and you can also buy extra questions individually. The bad reviews focus on this, but the Top Grossing ranking shows people really are paying.

5. **Inference: got through review by packaging** : the store page is written as a breakup-recovery tool, which avoided the review scrutiny that saturated astrology apps face. Astrology features are being iterated on after launch.

### 6. Differentiation

- Compared with the big local apps: it only does "your own chart + your synastry with one person", two long reports plus a daily "one suggestion, one red line", with a literary tone that feels like self-reflection (KUME's design and storytelling strength). It skips miscellaneous things like tarot and coffee reading. It also has shareable small features, like "which celebrities does your chart resemble".

- Compared with the English-language Co-Star and The Pattern: it's native Turkish, and pricing is set for the Turkish storefront.

- **Are these differentiators the reason it took off?** Only partly. It took off mainly because the demand for the category was already big, AI let one person cheaply build something sellable, and the founder had a content account. Product-level differences (deeper relationship synastry, better writing, frequent updates) help it retain users and earn good reviews within its category, but they're not yet enough to open a big scale gap. 6 ratings a week with 139 per day also shows it's still a small product.

### 7. Visibility and copycats

- **Few people know about it yet** : no media coverage, no one discussing it on X, not on TrustMRR, and the founder hasn't posted any revenue. The only public traces are the founder's own reels and TikToks.

- Copycats: no product specifically copying it was found. Few new astrology apps have launched on the Turkish storefront since 2026-08, which fits the inference that a "saturated category is hard to get approved".

### 8. What to borrow

- Use AI long reports to target "high-ARPU small-language markets + old categories": demand for astrology and synastry is steady. Translate into the local language, add good writing, and one person can build it.

- The founder keeps shipping with a "I built another app" persona, and each new product gets the first few hundred users. A collective brand (KUME) then ties the products together and cross-promotes them.

- Using another category's store listing to get through review (very risky: Apple can pull or refuse updates at any time; record it only as an observation).

- Subscriptions are also offered on the web (Dodo Payments), leaving room to avoid Apple's commission later.

### 9. Uncertain

- Whether there is paid acquisition (the privacy label hints it may exist, but no ads were found).

- Whether the 10-30-to-11-03 rating acceleration came from the rating prompt, a viral video, or paid acquisition.

- Actual revenue: a Turkish Lifestyle Top Grossing rank of 75–140 roughly corresponds to a few to a dozen subscriptions a day. This is an inference and hasn't been verified.

- The store page doesn't match the actual features, so there is a risk of removal or refused updates from Apple.
