20 Ou Bang Ni Fill In a Course Selection Sheet: Two Valencia Grads' Erasmus Business, with the App Added Last
What it is A free app for Spanish Erasmus exchange students: rank your choices by your school's and program's partner slots, check destination city info, track deadlines, then get pointed to the website to pay for proxy course selection and a credit-conversion table.
Why it took off Spanish universities open Erasmus applications in November. It posted an app-launch video on its 148k-like TikTok account, which has been 11-04, and with a city WhatsApp group of over two thousand people driving traffic, it hit the top of a low-bar education chart within days.
BHow you could copy this Swap in one of the big Erasmus sending countries (Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal) and run the same play: a landing page with manual Learning Agreement fill-ins for a fee, a free school-picking tool built from your home universities' partner lists, and customer acquisition through TikTok pain-point videos and city-based group chats.

Erappmus is a Spanish-language Erasmus exchange app. It launched in Oct 9, and by Nov 6 it charted #7 in the Education free chart on the Spanish App Store. But it didn't come out of nowhere. Behind it is a small Valencia company that's been running for a year and a half, whose core business is charging students €20 to €50 to fill out their Learning Agreement (the course-matching form for studying abroad). They built a following of a few thousand would-be exchange students through TikTok and WhatsApp groups, then shipped the app right when Spanish universities opened Erasmus applications, and pushed it with their own videos.
A video with 310k views
On Jun 5 2025, @erappmus posted a TikTok with a single line of caption: "alguien que se vaya de Erasmus con el mismo problema??" (Anyone else going on Erasmus with the same problem??). The video has since reached 316k views. The top comment in the thread:
Bro, this is honestly the only bad part of Erasmus. I got run around by it too, but once it's done it feels great. (882 likes)
Second comment:
Just seeing this now, and I've already submitted a draft of the Learning Agreement version 15. (305 likes)
A parent also wrote: "My daughter went to Florence and came back after a month. They only recognized two of her courses, since the ones over there were master's-level and the ones here were undergrad."
The Learning Agreement is a form every Erasmus student has to submit before leaving: which courses you'll take at the host university and which of your home university's courses they'll count toward. Your home university's Erasmus coordinator has to sign it, and if the courses don't match, it gets sent back. The official platform only handles signatures. It doesn't help you find the few courses that match among hundreds at the host school. The work is tedious, the deadlines are real, and if you get the matching wrong, your credits don't transfer. That's what Erappmus sells.
Who's behind it
The founders are Pablo Herraiz Soto (CEO; a COPE report from January 2026 gives his age as 23) and Juanfran Artés. Both graduated in business analytics from the University of Valencia and both went on Erasmus. The project began as Herraiz's undergrad thesis: his thesis advisor happened to be the faculty's Erasmus coordinator, so he turned the "credit matching" problem into his graduation project (Las Provincias, 2025-04). In March 2024 the project got into Lanzadera, the startup accelerator in Valencia run by Juan Roig, the boss of Mercadona, Spain's biggest supermarket chain.
This wasn't two coders building an app. It was two students who had just been through this process starting with a service. The app came a year and a half later.
Where the money comes from
The money isn't in the app. It's on the website, erappmus.com:
| Item | Pricing | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| Learning Agreement fill-in, basic | €20, 8–12 business days | Website, 11-06 |
| Rush / express | €30 (3–7 days) / €50 (24–48 hours) | Same as above |
| Each extra destination | +€10 each, up to 5 | Same as above |
| Choice advisor (new) | One-time €10 in the app; two advisors rank your choices based on your major | App Store 1.2.0 update notes, 11-03 |
| Affiliate commission | Erasmus Play housing, travel insurance, Skyscanner flights, Eurosender luggage shipping | Promo parameters in the website link |
Revisions after coordinator rejection are free. The site claims "500+ delivered, 91% pass on first try" (self-reported, unverified). At 500 orders and €20–50 each, that's roughly €10,000–20,000+ cumulative over a year and a half (estimate). A COPE report from 1 says the web service only went live in mid-June 2025, and in its first few months it had only 40–50 paying users. If the site's numbers are accurate, volume grew about tenfold this application season.
It's tiny, but the demand is real. Testimonials on the site keep repeating two lines: "quitarte un peso de encima" (lifting a weight off your shoulders) and "volvería a pagar" (I'd pay again). Several also say "at first I worried it was a scam." So for them, the Lanzadera backing and local press coverage work as trust signals.
What the app does
The store page lists three things: each destination city's places, language requirements, climate, cost of living, and how many people are in that city's WhatsApp group; it asks a few questions and ranks the best destinations based on the partner spots your school and major actually have; and it reminds you of school deadlines. The last line: "Gratis. Hecha por gente que ya se fue de Erasmus." (Free. Made by people who've already gone on Erasmus.)
"Ranking choices by your school's partner spots" is the hardest part to copy. The website has a page listing partner agreements for 85 Spanish universities, 3,087 majors, and 1,950 destinations, and all of it had to be collected one school at a time. Searching "learning agreement" in the store puts it first, but almost nobody searches that term. Searching "erasmus" doesn't show it in the top 25 results (Spanish App Store, 11-06).
The app is Spanish-only and iPhone-only. Under the 11-04 video, the most common questions were "when is the Android version coming," "can't pick a double degree," and "my first-choice school isn't in the app."
Why Nov 6
Two things lined up.
First, timing. Spanish universities usually open Erasmus applications for the next academic year between November and the following January, and some open as early as October. Erappmus posted a video in Oct 6 reminding people: "Some schools open in October. Applying early doesn't mean you have to go." The app launched in Oct 9, and in Nov 3 they shipped the 1.2.0 version with the €10 advisor, hitting exactly that window.
Second, their own audience. @erappmus has 5,588 followers and 148k likes on TikTok (11-06). Their biggest asset isn't TikTok, though. It's the city-based WhatsApp groups: 2025 people in April 1,500, and over 2026 in January 2,000 (Las Provincias, COPE). A video from Jan 2026 16 saying "if you got a spot, join the group now" got 191k views and 1,737 shares, and more than half of its 556 comments were "is there a Chile group," "can the Lublin group get approved," "is there one for Padua."
On Nov 4, they posted "Ya está: la app para hacer tu lista de Erasmus" (The app is here: make your Erasmus list with it). Sign up with your school account, see the partner schools you can go to, five questions to rank them, reviews from people who've been to each city, free, iPhone only for now. The video got 33k views and 784 shares. The next day they posted one on how to choose a destination, ending with "too lazy to think it through? Just use the test in our app," which got 14k views. Two days later the app was on the education chart.
Read the numbers together: it's #209 on the Spain store's free overall chart and #7 in Education (free), but it has only 3 ratings, and all three were written within an hour of each other on Nov 4, each giving 5 stars (App Store Spain, 11-06). The bar to chart in Spain's Education free category is low: a few hundred to a few thousand downloads over a few days is enough (estimate). Three ratings landing this close together suggests people close to the developer helped out (inference). I found no evidence of paid acquisition, but I can't rule it out.
The market itself is large. Spain is one of the biggest Erasmus sending countries. In 2025, higher education alone, Spain's Erasmus+ funding covered about 72.5k mobility placements (SEPIE; that figure includes internships and staff). At the self-reported 500 orders, Erappmus hasn't even reached one percent of that.
Who it's competing with
There's almost no competition on the App Store. The official Erasmus+ app has only 19 ratings in Spain, at 1.58 stars, and doesn't rank choices or fill out forms. Most other apps with "Erasmus" in the name are small dating apps with 0–2 ratings.
The real competition is web-based "Learning Agreement fill-in" services, and this fall others have already started copying:
| Name | Form | Pricing | How Erappmus differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Odisea(odiseago.com) | Web | €15 / 25 / 35, plus €5 per extra destination | Launched 2026-09, with a page structure and copy that's nearly identical (four-step process, "rejected? we'll keep revising," three speed tiers), 25%–30% cheaper; no app, no community |
| go-erasmus / TuAgreement | Website, the app says "pronto" (coming soon) | Starting at €12–15 | Drafts generated with AI, then checked against official course catalogs; also on TikTok |
| Erasmus Play | App + website | Free, funded by landlords | Housing only; a partner of Erappmus |
| University international offices, older students, ChatGPT | Offline / general-purpose AI | Free | Reviews say things like "I fed both course outlines into an AI myself and it got them right"; Erappmus sells saved time and someone to handle problems |
The service has no real barrier to entry, and it got copied within a month. What Erappmus still has is an early lock on TikTok and WhatsApp groups, its partner-school list for the home university, and a year and a half of accumulated word of mouth.
If it were you
B, worth a shot. This is a real pain point with a hard deadline and people willing to pay. Few people know about it, and outside Spain it's basically empty. The weaknesses are obvious, though: one application season a year, €20–30 per order, roughly €10,000–20,000 in a year and a half (estimate), and in Spain it's already a race with two copycats.
Who it suits: student teams who went on Erasmus themselves, or are studying or just graduated in a major sending country like Italy, France, Germany, Poland, or Portugal; people willing to spend months compiling their home country's partner-school lists and course data; anyone who already has an expat community and wants one more paid offering.
Who it doesn't suit: people looking for steady year-round subscription revenue; people hoping an app will pick up installs organically in the store (nobody searches this category); people unfamiliar with a given country's university processes who can only build a generic tool.
How to do it:
- Change the country, don't crowd into Spain. Pick a major Erasmus sending country and first check whether anyone there already does Learning Agreement fill-ins. Erappmus only covers Spanish universities, and its data only covers Spain.
- Service first, app second. Version one is a landing page plus manual fill-ins at €15–30 each, with free revisions after rejection.
- Data comes next: compile partner-school lists for the top few dozen universities in your country and turn them into a free "rank my choices by my school and major" tool. That's the acquisition funnel, and it's the part nobody can copy in a month.
- Use AI to draft and humans to review, to bring down the cost per order. go-erasmus is already doing this.
- Then add rental, insurance and flight affiliate links, since those are things people really buy in the months before they leave.
How to get users: Follow its playbook. Post pain-point videos on TikTok around one topic: "how painful filling in the Learning Agreement is". The comments heat up on their own. Then set up WhatsApp or Telegram groups by city and pull in the people who got their place; the group is the best funnel, and the next cohort finds you by itself.
When to move: Before your country's application window. In Spain, applications open November to January. Learning Agreements are usually filled in after a place is confirmed and before departure, and spring through summer is peak season for done-for-you services. Start preparing now and you'll be ready for the spring Learning Agreement rush in 2027.
Signs you're reading it wrong: If Erappmus's App rating is still single digits by spring 2027 and its official delivery count hasn't visibly risen, demand is just this small. It works as a side hustle, not a business. If a university or the EU itself builds course matching into the Online Learning Agreement platform, or students widely use AI on course syllabi, nobody will pay for this service anymore. Conversely, if a team in Italy or France copies this model and delivers thousands of agreements in one season, this opportunity should be upgraded to A.

One line
This is a Valencian student startup that has been running for 1.5 years, offering "done-for-you Learning Agreements (course matching/credit conversion paperwork)" to Spanish Erasmus exchange students. It has just added a free iPhone app. The app is an acquisition channel, not a revenue source. In November 6 it jumped to #7 on the Spain-store free Education chart, because two things coincided: Spanish universities' Erasmus application season opens November to the following January; and its own TikTok account (148k likes) posted an "app launch" video in November 4. It is not a new app that rose on organic traffic alone.
1. Current data
| Metric | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Spain store free overall chart | #209(2026-11-06) | appstore library, chart_rank |
| Spain store free Education chart | #7(2026-11-06) | Same as above |

| Website traffic | Similarweb shows erappmus.com ranked around #1,178,010 globally in September 2026, very low volume | similarweb.com search snippet |
The Spain-store free Education chart has a low bar: 3 ratings was enough to reach #7. That means downloads spiked for a few days, but absolute volume is probably only in the hundreds to low thousands (inferred, not verified).
2. Company background and business model
- Founders: Pablo Herraiz Soto (CEO, COPE reports he is 23) and Juan Francisco (Juanfran) Artés, both graduates of the University of Valencia's "Business Analytics Intelligence" program, both having done Erasmus. The project started from Herraiz's undergraduate thesis: his thesis supervisor happened to be the faculty's Erasmus coordinator, so he built "credit-matching automation" as his thesis. Sources: Las Provincias 2025-04-07, COPE 2026-01-10
- Accelerator: joined Lanzadera (the Valencian accelerator run by Mercadona owner Juan Roig) in March 2024, positioned as a "one-stop Erasmus services platform"; its pitch centers on "the only Learning Agreement credit-matching tool on the market" and explicitly relies on partnerships and affiliates for monetization. Source: lanzadera.es/proyecto/erappmus
- Revenue sources (official site erappmus.com/learning-agreement):
- Done-for-you Learning Agreement: basic €20 (8–12 business days), rush €30 (3–7 days), express €50 (24–48 hours); each extra destination +€10, up to 5. Free revisions if the coordinator sends it back.
- The site self-reports "91% approved first time, 500+ delivered, 18 hours saved per person" (self-reported, unverified). At 500 deliveries, at €20–50 each, cumulative revenue is roughly €10K to €20K+ (inferred).
- Affiliate commissions: Erasmus Play housing (with utm affiliate links), student insurance, Skyscanner (pxf.io affiliate links), Eurosender luggage shipping (discount code ERAPPMUS).
- New €10 choice-advisor feature in the app (v1.2.0). COPE reported it in month 1; the same service on the web was priced at €5 then.
- Early scale: per COPE (2026-01), the web product only launched in mid-June 2025, and "in a few months it got 40–50 paying users"; social following 3,500, videos commonly reach 30k views, peaking at 400k; WhatsApp groups exceed 2,000 members. The site now claims 500+ delivered, suggesting roughly an order-of-magnitude growth over the 2025-26 application season (self-reported, unverified).
3. Where users come from: growth tactics
| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Own TikTok account @erappmus | 5,588 followers, 148,431 likes, 115 videos (TikHub, 2026-11-06). Past hits: 2025-06-05 on Learning Agreement pain points, 316k views; 2026-01-16 directing viewers into the WhatsApp group, 191k views, 556 comments, 1,737 shares. 2026-11-04 posted "Ya está: la app para hacer tu lista de Erasmus", 33k views, 780 shares; 11-05 then posted a choice-ranking video with an App call-to-action, 14k views. The App charted right after 11-06 | Confirmed |
| Application-season timing (platform/seasonal event) | Spanish universities' Erasmus applications generally open November to January (the Modo Cheto 2026-09 guide states this; Erappmus's own TikTok in 10-06 also says "some schools opened in October"). The App's core feature, "rank your choices by your school's partner list", maps directly onto this window. | Confirmed (timing matches; causation is inferred) |
| WhatsApp city groups (community funnel) | The official site /grupos-whatsapp/ creates groups by country and city (example: "Erasmus Berlín 2026 · 247 participants"); 2025-04 at 1,500 people, 2026-01 at 2,000+ people. People who join are pointed to the paid LA service and the app. | Confirmed |
| SEO content site | 451 city guides, a "convenios-erasmus" page (partner lists for 85 Spanish universities, 3,087 programs, 1,950 destinations), and a blog. When searching "Erappmus" on Jina, the site's pages rank at the top; Similarweb traffic is very small. | Confirmed to exist, limited effect |
| Media and accelerator backing | Las Provincias (2025-04), COPE radio (2026-01), and a Lanzadera program page; all are local Valencian media | Confirmed |
| Past-user word of mouth | The site has 6 named reviews from students at universities in A Coruña, Málaga, Almería, Oviedo, Seville and others, showing it has expanded beyond Valencia | Confirmed (reviews chosen by the site itself) |
| Paid acquisition | No Meta/TikTok ad evidence found (the ad library only tracks a list of named products, so not finding ads doesn't mean none were run) | Unconfirmed |
| X / Reddit / HN | x-radar search for "erappmus" returns 0 | None |
4. Competitors
| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Erappmus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Erasmus+ App (official, EU/EUF) | iOS/Android/web | 2017(iOS 2017-05-16) | Only 19 ratings in the Spain store, averaging 1.58 stars | An official process and information tool. It doesn't help you rank choices or match course credits, and the experience is poor. |
| Online Learning Agreement(learning-agreement.eu) | Web | Official platform | The signing channel for all Erasmus students | It only handles signing. It doesn't help find equivalent courses. Erappmus does the draft that gets submitted here. |
| Erasmus Play | iOS/Android/web | iOS 2023-05 | 44 ratings in the es store; a Valencia company | Only does housing, and it's an Erappmus alliance partner, not a rival |
| Odisea(odiseago.com) | Web | LA page published on 2026-09-24 | Claims coverage of 6,281 universities and 39 countries; scale unknown | Nearly copies word for word Erappmus's LA page (four-step process, "¿Rechazado? Seguimos", three turnaround tiers), at a lower price: €15/25/35, plus €5 for each added destination. It also offers a cost calculator and city guides. |
| go-erasmus / TuAgreement | Web only (the app says "pronto") | 2026 | Claims a catalog of 224 universities and 12,852 courses | Uses AI to generate LA drafts, checked against official catalogs, from €12–15. Targets the Spanish market and has a TikTok account, @goerasmus.app. |
| Erasly | website + iOS (2025-11) | 2025 | iOS 0 ratings | Social and city reviews for meeting fellow Erasmus students. Does not do paperwork. |
| Apply&Go | iOS/Android | 2022 | About 5 ratings in the es store; ranks #50–170 in education charts in a small Eastern European country | Finds Erasmus+ youth exchange and training projects; not university exchanges |
| Erasmus Friends / Yuno / ErasGO! / Erasmus Life | iOS | 2026 year 3–August | 0–2 ratings | All small social and city-life apps that never gained traction |
| Happy Erasmus / ESN / Erasmusu | Web / iOS | Long-established | Communities and blogs | Content and event communities that don't touch course selection or credit matching |
| University international office + senior students | Offline | — | Free | The real "competitor" is free manual channels. Erappmus sells saved time and certainty. |
Conclusion: Erasmus-related apps on the App Store are almost all small, unrated products. The official app has poor reviews, so there's no real rival on iOS. The real competition is the "paid LA service" on the web. This niche already had at least two copycats by autumn 2026 (Odisea, go-erasmus).
5. Why it took off
- Found a real, deadline-driven pain point that people pay to solve: the Learning Agreement decides whether credits transfer back. The official tool only handles signatures, and nobody helps students pick matching courses from hundreds. Customer reviews keep mentioning "quitarte un peso de encima" (lifting a weight off your shoulders) and "volvería a pagar" (I'd pay again).
- Community and content first, app last: it used TikTok (148k likes, several videos at 100k to 300k views) and WhatsApp city groups to gather 2,000+ target users, so when the app launched it could reach the education chart in a day through its own channels.
- Timing: the app launched in October, right when Spanish universities open Erasmus applications in November. Its "rank your choices by partner list" feature matches that seasonal demand. The 11-03 version added a €10 advisory service, and 11-04 pushed TikTok promotion.
- Data asset: it hand-compiled Erasmus partner lists for 85 Spanish universities (3,087 programs × 1,950 destinations) and 451 city guides. This is the base data behind the app's "choice test" feature. A competitor would have to scrape school by school to build the same thing.
- Local credibility: Lanzadera accelerator coverage and local media stories helped build trust at the "paying an unfamiliar website" step (reviews repeatedly mention "at first I worried it was a scam").
6. Differentiation
- Compared with the official Erasmus+ app and the various social Erasmus apps: it is the only one that links "choose choices → credit matching done for you → housing/insurance/flights" into one paid funnel, with recommendations personalized to each Spanish university's partner list.
- Compared with LA done-for-you sites like Odisea and go-erasmus: the difference isn't the service itself, since these offerings are nearly identical and the rivals are cheaper. The real difference is that it locked in the community and content channels first (TikTok, WhatsApp groups, customer word of mouth), and it has an app, while its rival's app still says "pronto".
- Is this differentiation why it worked? Partly. It got off the ground first by being "the first to do LA done-for-you" plus a TikTok community; the app's chart run came from community traffic and application season. The service model has a low barrier and has already been copied, so the moat is what remains: the community, the partner-list data, and reputation.
7. Visibility and copycats
- Awareness: it's being talked about in small circles. Only Valencian local media (Las Provincias, COPE) and Lanzadera have covered it; 0 posts on X; no public MRR, not on TrustMRR; the site self-reports "500+ delivered"; Similarweb rank about 1.18M.
- Copycats: Odisea (odiseago.com, live since 2026-09, page structure and copy very similar, priced 25%–30% lower); go-erasmus / TuAgreement (AI-generated LA, from €12–15, web plus TikTok, app not out yet).
8. What others can borrow
- The "paperwork + community + alliances" model: find a paperwork pain point with a deadline and €20–50 per document (here, the Learning Agreement), acquire users with TikTok pain-point videos and city-split WhatsApp groups, then monetize again with affiliate links for housing, insurance, and flights. The app was just the last entry point added.
- Replicable in other countries: Italy, France, Germany, and Poland are all major Erasmus senders with the same LA pain point. It can also be replicated in other paperwork scenarios (visas, credit recognition, rental contracts).
- The launch timing should land one week before the seasonal application window (app out in October, promotion starting early November).
9. Still unclear
- Actual downloads and retention: only 1 days of chart data and 3 ratings, so it's unclear whether it can hold up after 11-06.
- 500+ LAs and a 91% first-pass approval rate are self-reported figures; the scale of alliance revenue is unknown.
- The conversion rate of the €10 in-app advisory service is unknown. It's also unverified whether this service goes through IAP or external links, and whether Apple review could be an issue.
- Whether it runs paid ads can't be ruled out, since the ad library doesn't track it.
- Whether it can expand beyond Spain: the app is Spanish-only, and the partner-list data only covers Spanish universities.
