> iPhone users searching for "mr cash" can't find the official app, so they end up here. It's listed under Business rather than Finance. Two or three hundred new ratings a day is enough to take the #1 spot in the category chart, and the same team quietly ran four other copycat apps at the same time.

Mr. Cash - online fast cash · TOP SUNRISER CREDIT CORPORATION

# Borrowed name, swapped category: a Philippine cash-loan clone hit #1 in the App Store Business chart in two weeks

**What it is** A Philippine online short-term cash-loan app, using the name of a lending brand that has 5.69M installs on Android but no iOS version.

**Why it took off** iPhone users searching "mr cash" couldn't find the real app, so they landed here. It sits in Business instead of Finance, and 200–300 new ratings a day was enough for the top spot in that category. The same team also spread the traffic across four clone apps.

**E** **How you could follow it** Don't do cash loans. Two things are worth taking: build an iOS version of a need that's big on Android and unserved on iOS, using your own name, and work out each category chart's entry bar before choosing where to list.

E grade: following it means running a Philippine cash-loan business. The SEC has not approved new online lending platforms since 2021. This one borrows licenses and impersonates other brands, and the SEC and the real brand have both publicly named similar impostors. Its growth relies on ready-made lending and a matrix of shell companies that an indie developer can't get.Few people know about this yet

Mr. Cash was listed in October 22 and held #1 in the Philippines App Store free Business chart for four straight days, from November 1 to 4, above LinkedIn and Indeed. Its product is no different from dozens of other Philippine cash-loan apps. It moved fast because of three things: it used a big brand's name, it listed in a category with no comparable competitors, and the same group put out four packages at once. Understanding these three moves is useful, but don't copy the business.

### A warning about fake apps

On 2026 Mar 19, the official Instagram account of Philippine lending app Mr. Cash, @mrcashph, posted a short video with a caption in Tagalog: "Heads up, Cashama‼️ Watch out for the fake Mr. Cash on the App Store. It has nothing to do with the official Mr. Cash App run by E-Generation Lending." The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines also listed an app called "Mr. Cash – Loan App Philippines" as an impersonator in one of its notices this year, in the words "impersonating Mr. Cash, a lending platform operated by E-Generation Lending Corporation" (full text of the notice, forwarded in a local SEC group on Apr 1).

The real Mr. Cash is Android-only. On Google Play it has 5.69M installs and 74k ratings, and it added about 52k installs in the last 7 days (Google Play, 11-06). It has no iOS version, so Philippine iPhone users searching "mr cash" in the App Store can't find the real app.

In October 22, a "Mr. Cash - online fast cash" listing appeared on the Philippine App Store. The seller is TOP SUNRISER CREDIT CORPORATION of Cebu, not E-Generation. By November 6, searching "mr cash" in the Philippine App Store put it first. From the outside you can't tell whether the March fake and this one were made by the same group. But this is at least the second loan package to appear on the App Store under the Mr. Cash name.

### What it is

It's a Philippine online short-term cash loan. The store page says: borrow ₱1,600 to ₱95,000, terms of 91 to 120 days, "maximum annual rate 14.6%", open to applicants aged 18 and over with a government ID and steady income (App Store Philippines, 11-06). These lines match Apple's and Google's listing requirements for loan apps: terms of at least 60 days, and a stated maximum annual rate. What it actually charges and how it collects can't be verified from outside. The Android version says ₱1,000–50,000, 91–181 days, and 36% APR, which doesn't match.

Rating 4.78, from 2,572 ratings in total (11-06). Almost no text reviews show in the store. The few visible ones say "Will change if didn't not approve" and "Well change if approved", meaning "five stars now, changed if not approved." **Inference** : the app shows a rating prompt during the loan application, and users give five stars out of fear of hurting their approval. This is a common tactic for cash loans.

### How it grew in two weeks

| Date | New ratings that day | Cumulative ratings | Rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-28 (day 6 after launch) | — | 415 | Overall free chart #124 |
| 10-30 | 268 | 736 | |
| 11-01 to 11-04 | 167–344 | 1,163 → 1,942 | Business free chart #1 for 4 straight days, overall peak #63 |
| 11-06 | 382 | 2,572 | Business #3 (ahead of Zoom and Teams), overall #76 |

(App Store Philippines daily ratings and charts, 10-28 to 11-06)

**Move 1: use a name people already know.** The company's website code names the app "Top Cash," but at launch it was renamed Mr. Cash. The real app has millions of Android users, and its TikTok account has posted since 2023, so the name was already familiar. There was no real iOS version, so anyone searching for it landed here. The real brand's official account posted a "beware of impostors" video back in December 2023, so being impersonated isn't new for them.

**Move 2: list in Business, not Finance.** In the last 7 days it added 1,836 ratings. The same volume in Finance would only rank around #20–30. A comparable app, Pesos.ph Loan, added 1,343 ratings in 7 days and ranked #30 in Finance. Sdev Cash, listed in October 19, grew at a similar rate but ranked only #18 in Finance. In Business there were no cash-loan rivals to compete with, so the same volume took first place. A category top spot gets seen by more people, which brings in more downloads.

**Move 3: spread across four packages at once.** Its website template is identical to three other new loan packages: the same website analytics account, the same UC (Alibaba's ad platform) conversion-tracking code, the same page layout, and Chinese strings like "获取验证码" (get verification code) and "立即申请" (apply now) left in the front-end code. The four packages sit under four different old Philippine lending companies:

| iOS package | Launched | Registered company | Actual lender (per website) | Name borrowed from | Business free chart 11-06 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mr. Cash | 10-22 | Top Sunriser Credit (Cebu) | Fast Coin Lending | Mr. Cash on Android, 5.69M installs | #3 |
| Cashguard | 10-08 | Seven Colors Lending (Davao) | Fast Coin Lending | The lender's own product name | #10 |
| Salmon Credit | 10-28 | Super Nice Lending and Trading (Bulacan) | Supreme Money Lending | Licensed digital lender Salmon (iOS 57k ratings) | #7 |
| Sunny Cash | 10-28 | Sunny Claire Credit and Lending (Mandaue) | Fidoph Lending | —— (Fidoph Android version, 1.46M installs) | #9 |

In November 6, four of the top 12 free Business apps in the Philippines were cash loans, and 5 of them came from this group (the 4 are this company's). In March 2, the SEC also issued a notice warning that someone was impersonating "SALMON CREDIT" (from the SEC notice list compiled by bitpinas).

Why four companies? **Inference** : Apple requires loan apps to be listed under the developer account of a licensed institution, and the SEC has suspended approval of new online lending platforms since 2021 Nov 2 (SEC memorandum 2021, No. 10). So the group had to find small, long-established provincial lending companies that already held licenses (SEC registration numbers for these firms show 2009, 2015 and 2017 as their registration years), with one developer account per company. If one package gets pulled, the other three keep running.

### Who's behind it

**Inference** : a Chinese team that first ran cash loans in India and later moved to the Philippines. The Mr. Cash front-end code still contains traces of the previous project: the name of a Philippine lending company (product name SunnyFund), and a privacy policy from a non-banking financial company in Kolkata, India. Page fields use Indian regulatory terms (NBFC, CIN). The servers are on Alibaba Cloud International. One codebase, with the shell, name and country swapped, reused.

### Where the money comes from, and who competes with it

Revenue comes from lending interest and service fees, not App Store in-app purchases, so the App Store grossing chart doesn't show how much it earns. Under the SEC notice, user comments complain that apps like this charge "too much interest and too many deductions," and the Mr. Cash name appears in those complaints. It's impossible to tell whether they mean the real brand or the impostor.

There are many rivals. The Philippine App Store has dozens of loan apps with "loan" or "cash" in the name: JuanHand (79k ratings), Pesos.ph Loan (51k), Happycash (44k), VPlus (25k). Most also have Chinese backing, and all are in Finance. Above them are the licensed big players such as GCash, Maya, Home Credit, Tonik and Salmon, which have brands and credit scoring. On the product side Mr. Cash is no different from any of them. The only differences are the name and the category.

### If it were you

**E, don't touch it.** Following it means running a Philippine cash-loan business, and that path is closed to you. The SEC has not approved new online lending platforms since 2021, so teams have to borrow other companies' licenses. This one relies on impersonating other brands, and both the SEC and the real brand have already publicly named similar impostors. Packages like this go up fast and come down fast. It runs on a ready-made set of lending, risk-control, collections and shell-company infrastructure that an indie developer can't get.

- **Who it suits** : nobody should copy it. Anyone who wants to study distribution can read it as a case study.

- **Who it doesn't suit** : anyone without a Philippine lending license, and anyone unwilling to take on infringement, name-impersonation and abusive-collections complaints.

- **How to do it** : don't do cash loans. Two moves can be taken and used on your own legitimate product. (1) Find a need that's big on Android and unserved on iOS. Don't borrow someone else's name. Build an iOS version under your own name, with the need itself in the title and keywords. (2) Before listing, check roughly how many new installs a day it takes to reach #10 or #1 in each candidate category, then pick one where your volume can reach the front and the category fits. If the category is clearly wrong, Apple will make you change it back.

- **How to get users** : the acquisition lessons in this case are App Store search and category-chart exposure, which are the two moves above. Paid acquisition, SMS and collections-driven referrals are all tied to licensing in this business and can't be copied.

- **Timing** : there's no deadline to race. What's worth watching is how long it lasts: whether any of these four packages is pulled or named by the SEC before the end of December.

- **How I could be wrong** : (1) By February 2027, Mr. Cash and the three other packages are still listed and still in the top 10 of Business, and neither the SEC nor Apple has acted. That would mean clone apps like this last far longer than I'd assumed, and teams with licensing resources should reassess. (2) After E-Generation releases a genuine iOS version, this package's growth doesn't drop, which would show it isn't relying on borrowed names. (3) Apple starts moving loan apps in Business back to Finance, which would mean the category-swap move no longer works. Only (1) and (2) would raise this grade. (3) would only lower it.

### Data and sources

Where users come from

- **Verified** **borrows a brand name to catch store search** : the internal appName is 'Top Cash', and the listing name was changed to Mr. Cash; the real Mr. Cash has 5.69M installs on Android and its TikTok official account posts content regularly, but there is no iOS version; on iTunes, searching 'mr cash' (ph) ranks it first

- **Verified** **switches to the Business category to chase the chart** : all 4 disguised packages are in the Business category; Mr. Cash gets about 250 ratings a day and can hold #1 in Business; the same volume would land around #20–30 in Finance

- **Verified** **disguised-package matrix / multiple nominal companies** : 4 official websites share GrowingIO account ba4cac951fcf70bc and the same app_config.js template; the nominal companies correspond to lenders such as Fast Coin / Supreme Money / Fidoph

- Inferred **review prompting** : 4.78 stars, 2,600 ratings, almost no written reviews; the visible reviews are 'will change if approved'

- Inferred **paid acquisition (UC Huichuan, etc.)** : the official site has huichuan.sm.cn conversion tracking installed; nothing shows up in the metaads, tiktokads, or googleads libraries

## Why Mr. Cash - online fast cash managed to break out

App Store id 6820890205 · Seller TOP SUNRISER CREDIT CORPORATION · Business category (not Finance) · Free · 1.0.0 version, listed 2026-10-22, latest version updated 10-23 (iTunes lookup, 2026-11-06). Storefronts checked: in the appstore library it only charts in the ph (Philippines) storefront, so only ph was checked; we also pulled every ph app with loan / cash / peso / credit in its name for comparison. Data dates 2026-10-28 to 2026-11-06.

### Bottom line

This is not a standalone product. It is **one of a Chinese-run cash-loan "disguised package" matrix in the Philippines** : the same operator uses one web template, placed under several different small Philippine lending companies, and put 4 packages on iOS at once (Mr. Cash, Cashguard, Salmon Credit, Sunny Cash). Each package **borrows the name of an already well-known Philippine loan brand** and **is placed in the Business category rather than Finance** , so it can climb to the top few in a less competitive category chart. Mr. Cash borrows the name of a same-named loan brand with 5.69M installs on Android, and that brand happens to have no iOS version, so users searching "mr cash" on the App Store all end up here. Tags: distribution playbook (name borrowing + category switching + disguised-package matrix) / timing or platform event (the gap left by the original brand having no iOS version).

### 1. What it is

- Online short-term cash loans in the Philippines: borrow ₱1,600–95,000, term 91–120 days, store page says "max APR 14.6%"; requires age 18+, a government ID, and stable income (App Store ph page, 2026-11-06).

- These terms are written to match Apple's and Google's policies for loan apps (requiring a term ≥60 days, stating a maximum APR). How it actually charges in practice was not verified. The genuine Mr. Cash on Android lists ₱1,000–50,000, 91–181 days, APR 36% (googleplay.app, com.mr.Inclusive), so the terms on the two sides don't match.

- Rated 4.78 (from 2,635 ratings, iTunes lookup 2026-11-06), but there are almost no written reviews in the store: the appstore.review table has 0 entries, and the RSS review feed has 0. The reviews visible on the page we fetched with WebFetch are things like "Will change if didn't not approve" and "Well change if approved". **My guess:** the app shows the rating prompt during the loan application flow, and users give 5 stars so their loan gets approved. This is a common way cash-loan apps nudge for good ratings.

### 2. Key finding: it's a disguised-package matrix, and the brand is borrowed

#### 2.1 "Mr. Cash" was originally someone else's brand

- On Android, the **Mr. Cash belongs to E-Generation Lending Corporation** (SEC registration no. 2021070020530-12, CA L-21-0036-70). On Google Play it has 5,689,958 installs and 74,344 ratings, with about 7k new installs in the last 52 days (googleplay.app_profile, 2026-11-06). Its TikTok official account @mrcashph has been posting videos since 2023, and one post from 2023-12 still warns users to "beware of impostors" (TikHub search, 2026-11-06). Official customer service email contact@mrcash.vip ([loanappreviewphilippines](https://loanappreviewphilippines.com/mr-cash-review/)).

- E-Generation has **no iOS version** on the App Store. A third-party review site states: "There is no verified App Store version; the Mr Cash on iOS is most likely unsafe" (WebSearch summary, sources such as [retailasiaonline](https://retailasiaonline.com/mr-cash-loan-app.html)). According to a WebSearch summary, the Philippine SEC 2026-01-13 issued a notice warning about a fake app on the App Store impersonating E-Generation's "Mr. Cash" (the source is a roundup page such as the [bitpinas SEC watch list](https://bitpinas.com/feature/philippines-sec-investment-watchlist/); the original SEC notice was not found, **unverified** ).

- The seller of this iOS version is a different company, TOP SUNRISER CREDIT CORPORATION (SEC no. CS200931452,2009, registered 2018; [companieshouse.ph](https://companieshouse.ph/top-sunriser-credit-corporation); a LinkedIn profile shows someone who worked as a secretary at its Caloocan office from 2019 onward). The official site top-sunriser-credit.com's `app_config.js` says **appName: 'Top Cash'** , with an address in Cebu, and the company actually lending is **DFcomName: 'Fast Coin Lending Corp.'** (2026-11-06 scrape). In other words, the company internally calls it Top Cash, and it was renamed Mr. Cash when listed. Searching "mr cash" on iTunes (ph storefront) ranks this one first.

#### 2.2 same-operator iOS apps: 4

Its official site template is identical to 3 other new packages: each site has the same GrowingIO account `ba4cac951fcf70bc`, the same UC Huichuan (huichuan.sm.cn) conversion tracking snippet, and the same `app_config.js` structure (appName / comName / CIN / NBFC / DFcomName). The front end is React + MobX, with Chinese copy in the source, such as "获取验证码" (get verification code), "立即申请" (apply now), and "请正确输入手机号" (please enter a valid phone number).

| iOS package | Listing date | Nominal company (comName) | Actual lender (DFcomName) | Whose name it borrows | ph Business free chart 11-06 | Ratings / new in last 7 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mr. Cash | 10-22 | Top Sunriser Credit Corp (Cebu) | Fast Coin Lending Corp. | E-Generation's Mr. Cash (5.69M Android installs) | #3 (11-01 to 11-04 is #1) | 2,572 / 1,836 |
| Cashguard | 10-08 | Seven Colors Lending Corp. (Davao) | Fast Coin Lending Corp. | Fast Coin's own "Coco Peso / Cashguard / Cashcow" | #10 | 2,953 / 913 |
| Salmon Credit | 10-28 | Super Nice Lending and Trading (Bulacan) | Supreme Money Lending Corp. | Licensed digital lender Salmon (iOS 57k ratings); SEC 2026-03-02 issued a notice that someone was using the SALMON CREDIT name (bitpinas roundup) | #7 | 776 / 776 |
| Sunny Cash | 10-28 | Sunny Claire Credit and Lending (Mandaue) | Fidoph Lending Corporation | —— (Fidoph's own Android app has 1.46M installs) | #9 | 775 / 775 |

(chart and rating data from appstore.v_chart / app_profile, 2026-11-06; company fields from each site's `app_config.js`, scraped 2026-11-06)

- In 11-06 ph Business free chart top 12, 5 are cash loans, 4 are packages from this matrix, and #5 is PRIMA LOAN (DOU-SYSTEM). Mr. Cash sits behind Zoom and Teams, and ahead of LinkedIn, Indeed, and J&T.

- Traces of a previous project remain in the package: Mr. Cash's front-end JS contains "DHARMINDER AND GURJIT LENDING CORP." (a Philippine company whose product is SunnyFund), as well as a privacy policy for **an Indian Kolkata NBFC "Hanurang Mercantiles / HapLoan"** . Field names use the Indian regulator's terms directly: `NBFC` and `CIN`. The back end has an IP in the 8.212.182.12 range (Alibaba Cloud international). **Inferred** : this is a Chinese overseas team that first did cash loans in India and later moved to the Philippines, reusing one codebase with repeated re-skinning.

- The nominal companies are all older lending companies from other provinces (SEC nos. CS2009…, CS2017…, CS2015…, and one AS96…). **Inferred** : Apple requires loan apps to be listed by a licensed institution itself, and one developer account can't host multiple apps, so the team spreads the matrix with a "one licensed company per developer account" approach. The companies actually lending are ones like Fast Coin, Supreme Money, and Fidoph, which appear on the SEC platform list (Cashguard appears under Fast Coin Lending in the legitloanappreview list). Whether Top Sunriser itself has an SEC Certificate of Authority and platform registration is **unverified** .

### 3. Growth data

- Daily new ratings (appstore.app_day, ph): 10-29 is 53,10-30, 268 is 152, then it fluctuates between 344 and 11-06, with 382 on 10-28. The total went from 415 on 11-06 to 2,572. By day 6 after listing it already had 415 ratings, showing it had volume from launch.

- Ranking: ph free overall chart went from #10-28 on 124 up to #11-04 on 63,11-06 and reached #76; Business free chart from 11-01 to 11-04 was #4 for 1 consecutive days, then #2 and #3.

- Doing the math: 7 days of 1,836 new ratings in the last stretch is only enough for around #20–30 in Finance. Pesos.ph Loan, a peer, got 7 ratings in the last 1,343 days and ranks #30 in Finance; GCash ranks #3 in Finance. Moved to Business, the same volume would land #1. **Choosing the Business category is itself an exposure tactic** : a #1 category ranking brings it organic downloads.

- No Top Grossing data. Cash loans don't go through Apple in-app purchases, so Top Grossing would never reflect its revenue.

### 4. Competitors

The Philippine iOS cash-loan space is a red ocean, with dozens of apps in ph with loan / cash in their names. Direct competitors:

- **Mr. Cash (E-Generation, Android)** : 5.69M installs, with an official TikTok. It is the party whose name was borrowed, and it has no iOS version.

- **Sdev Cash** (listed 10-19, Finance category, 3,329 ratings / 7 days new 1,816): growth roughly the same as Mr. Cash, but in Finance it ranks only #18.

- **Happycash** (2024-12,44,436 ratings), **Pesos.ph Loan** (2025-11,51,217), **VPlus** (2026-03,25,227), **XLKash** , **Mega Peso** , **JuanHand** (2020,78,689), **Fidoph** , **Cashify** : all older or same-model China-linked cash loan apps, all in the Finance category. Bigger volume, but they rank low in their category.

- **Licensed big players** : GCash (GLoan / GGives), Maya (Finance #4), Home Credit, Tonik, Salmon, BillEase, all with built-in personal loans.

- Compared with these rivals, **the difference isn't the product** : the limits, terms, and flow are all industry-standard templates. The difference is **the name and the category** : it borrows a brand users already know, and it sits on the Business chart, where there's no direct competition.

### 5. Where users come from

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Borrowing a brand name to catch store search | On iOS it's called Mr. Cash, and its internal appName is Top Cash. The real Mr. Cash has 5.69M installs on Android and its TikTok official account keeps running ads, but there's no iOS version. Searching "mr cash" in the ph store on iTunes, this app ranks first. | Confirmed (the motive is an inference) |
| Moving to the Business category to push the charts | 4 shell apps are all in the Business category. Mr. Cash hit #1 on Business for 4 days; the same traffic would only get it around #20–30 in Finance. | Confirmed |
| Shell app matrix | 4 apps share the same GrowingIO account and the same template, launched in batches between 10-08 and 10-28. | Confirmed |
| Prompted reviews | 4.78 stars across 2,600+ ratings, but almost no written reviews. The few you can see say "approve, then revise" | Inferred |
| Paid acquisition (UC Huichuan / Meta / TikTok / Google) | The official site has UC Huichuan (huichuan.sm.cn) conversion tracking code installed. The metaads, tiktokads, and googleads libraries show none of these apps (those libraries only track listed products, and TikTok ads only cover Europe). | Unconfirmed |
| SMS / referrals from existing users | Cash loan companies commonly use SMS and referrals from existing lender customers. There's no direct evidence here. | Unconfirmed |

### 6. Where the money comes from

Revenue comes from loan interest and service fees, not Apple in-app purchases. The store page says "up to 14.6% APR," but the actual rate is **unverified** . Similar cash loan apps usually charge "service" or "processing" fees, and the real term is shorter than advertised. Not worth digging into whether the money is real; the risk and compliance issues outweigh the revenue.

### 7. How many people know about it

- No press coverage, no public revenue figures on TrustMRR-type sites, and no one on X discussing this iOS app. Online content about "Mr Cash" is almost all about the real Android app: loan review SEO sites, and complaints about collection harassment.

- But the Philippine cash loan market itself is packed with China-based overseas teams, and their playbook is an open secret in the industry.

- Bottom line: this app **isn't well known yet** , but the niche it sits in is already very crowded. The copycats are the operator's own other 3 shell apps, plus loan apps like PRIMA LOAN that are also listed under Business.

### 8. What others can borrow

- **A gap to exploit** : when a big Android brand has no iOS version, the search traffic for that brand name on iOS has no one serving it. This only shows the gap exists. Using another company's brand name carries infringement and regulatory risk, and the SEC has already called out this practice.

- **Switch to a low-barrier category** : the same traffic in a category with less competition can take the top spot and get the natural traffic that comes with category charts. But Apple review may reclassify it back if the category doesn't fit.

- **Spread risk across the matrix** : one license maps to one developer account, and apps launch in batches. If one app is pulled, the others keep running.

### 9. Still unclear

- Whether Top Sunriser holds an SEC lending authorization (CA) and whether the platform is registered with the SEC. Whether the SEC 2026-01-13 notice about the fake Mr. Cash comes from the same operator is not confirmed in the source.

- Whether they run Meta / TikTok / Google ads: not found in the libraries, but that doesn't prove they don't.

- The actual rates, collection practices, and bad-debt rates are all unknown.

- How many ratings were incentivized can't be accurately inferred from the rating count, so download numbers can't be reverse-engineered from it.

- Whether Apple will pull it for impersonation, category mismatch, or an SEC complaint. Shell apps like this usually have very short lifespans.
