# "10 months before you get paid": Bixberry rebrands the old business of renting out idle bandwidth as "helping AI read the web", 4 months and 1.27M installs

**What it is** A bandwidth-sharing app: it runs in the background and lends part of your phone's network to its enterprise customers as an internet exit (residential proxy). You earn points by the hour online and redeem them for gift cards.

**Why it took off** Its top rivals were delisted from Play or flagged as harmful. It spelled out its use and consent and stayed on Play, which made it eligible to run Google app install ads. 9–October it concentrated paid acquisition in low-cost South Asian markets, and referral rewards plus "is it real?" videos from the online-earning crowd pushed installs from 130k past 1M.

**C** **How you could follow** Only teams that already have proxy buyers are worth following. Copy its compliant Play listing, then fill the gaps it leaves: lower withdrawal thresholds, local payouts (mobile top-ups, UPI, e-wallets), running only on Wi-Fi and while charging, acquiring users through cheap-market install ads and referrals paid by online time. Without buyers, it's more realistic to make "can you actually cash out?" review content in Hindi and other local languages with your referral link.

Grade C: the category is old with many competitors. Its edge is a gap in Play policy that could close any time as Google tightens enforcement. The real money is in enterprise buyers who purchase IP by volume, and most followers can't reach that side. Per-device payouts to users are small. There are tactics worth learning, but copying the whole thing isn't worth it. What's being said in niche circles

Bixberry lets you lend part of your phone's network out in the background in exchange for gift cards. Honeygain and EarnApp have run this business for years, and both were pushed off Google Play. Bixberry changed the pitch to "help AI see live web pages," got listed compliantly, and then bought installs heavily on Google in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Below: what it actually sells, where the volume comes from, where the money comes from, and whether small teams should follow.

### A 631-person-upvoted one-star review

2026 Sep 17, a user named Krishna left a one-star review on Bixberry's Google Play India listing:

> Very bad app. It doesn't keep working, only runs for a few hours. Please don't install it, it won't give you anything. Even if it does, it takes at least 10 months, and it drains your battery because it runs in the background constantly and uses data. In the end you earn less than what you spend on network, time, battery and electricity.

631 people upvoted it as helpful, the most agreed-with review on the app. The second most upvoted came from user Abhiyan Baral in Sep 19 (155 people found it helpful): two devices on the same network, one showed "earning" and the other showed "premium rate", and "even at premium rate, at this speed, their team will be using our IP for years."

That sentence says what it's really doing: using your IP. Yet the app's overall rating is 4.2 across 14.7k ratings (Google Play India listing, 11-06), with roughly 70% five-star. The critics are very specific, and the people giving praise are more numerous.

### What it actually is: your phone becomes someone else's internet exit

The first line of the store page reads "Power AI with live data, earn rewards." The description says that with your consent, Bixberry uses your device's "limited network and compute resources" to help AI services fetch the latest information online. It doesn't touch your files, photos or messages, and you can turn it off in settings at any time.

The terms of service are blunter: your device becomes a "gateway" to internet traffic for Bixberry's customers. Those customers "include but are not limited to" AI companies, for uses such as LLM training, search augmentation, ad verification and web data collection. The terms also warn that after using it you may encounter more CAPTCHAs on some websites (bixberry.com terms of service).

Translated into industry language, this is a "residential proxy". Companies scraping pages or verifying ads need large volumes of IPs that look like ordinary home users. Residential proxy firms sell those IPs by the GB, and the source of those IPs is ordinary people who installed apps like this one. Bixberry runs the supply side, and "AI" is its public-facing framing.

What users get:

- Earnings are based on online time and completed requests. Users with good connections get 2× the "premium rate". Each IP can earn for only one device (official help center).

- Cash-out starts at $10 for the first withdrawal and $20 after that, paid only as gift cards: 5,000 brands across 100 countries, through the API of gift card distributor GIFQ (GIFQ blog).

- The balance is called "points with no intrinsic value" in the terms, and unredeemed points expire after a long period.

- Reviews quoted by an Indian review site include one person estimating "$10 in 1 days" and another "$1 in less than 100 hours" (invitelinks.in, 10-24).

It's run by UAB Cloudsquad, based in Vilnius, Lithuania, founded in 2022. Public registry data shows 1 employees and 2023 revenue of €47.7k in the latest year. Its sole shareholder is another company, a project vehicle, and we couldn't trace the parent behind it. Vilnius happens to be a hub for residential proxy businesses: Oxylabs, IPRoyal (the parent of Pawns.app) and Honeygain are all there. It's very likely a new brand from someone already in the industry, but this is unverified.

### How big the volume is: 4 months, 1.27M, accelerating from late September

| Date | Total installs |
|---|---|
| 07-26 | Listed on Google Play |
| 08-16 | About 10k |
| 09-05 | About 130k |
| 10-04 | About 480k |
| 10-26 | About 1.02M |
| 11-06 | 1,274,143 |

(8–October figures are AppstoreSpy estimates; 11-06 are Google Play installs)

Installs grew about 550k in October alone. Over the last 7 days it added another 256k, but growth is slowing: late October it added 3–70k per day, and from 11-04 to 11-06 it added 1–27k per day. It's still adding 330–500 new ratings per day.

On the charts it only shows up in the Tools free chart: India 10-29 at #36, then 11-06 fell to #98; charted in Nigeria and South Africa at #100–190, dropped off from 11-05 on.

Compare with a peer: Pawns.app, also based in Vilnius, launched 2021 years ago, has 16.8M cumulative installs on Play, and gained 7k in the last 54 days. Bixberry's weekly new installs are nearly 5× that.

The iOS version launched in Jul 1, but its ratings count is only in the single or low double digits in each country. It also ran iPhone ads on Google ("iPhone Rewards From Idle Net") that didn't take off. Nearly all its volume is on Android.

### Why it: rivals were pushed off Play, and it stayed

This category is in an awkward spot on Android. Honeygain was delisted from Google Play under the "device and network abuse" policy, and it says on its help center that appeals got no result. EarnApp (part of Bright Data) gets flagged as "harmful app" by Play Protect once installed. On Android, the leading players can only have users install APKs manually from their websites.

Play's policy does in principle allow this kind of app, as long as network sharing is its "primary and clearly disclosed" purpose. Bixberry covers these points thoroughly: after installation users see a permissions explanation, and the store page has three lines: "does not access", "does not monitor", "does not sell", plus it can be turned off at any time. It's rated 18+ and carries a "cash rewards" tag (Google Play India, 11-06).

Staying on Play is what lets it run Google app install ads and appear in Play search. That's its biggest difference from its old rivals, and the premise for everything that follows.

Timing also helped. In late January 2026, Google and partners took down the IPIDEA residential proxy network, and Play Protect removed a batch of apps that secretly embedded that proxy's SDK. Google Cloud's blog said the proxy pool had "lost millions of devices". With the route of secretly embedding SDKs shut, demand for residential IPs from AI web scraping kept rising, and a standalone app whose users clearly consent became a safer supply model (inference: the timing lines up, but it hasn't said so itself).

### Where users come from: Google ads, targeting the cheapest countries

The Google Ads Transparency Center lists the advertiser as "Cloudsquad, UAB" (Lithuania, verified). The first creative started showing in Jun 3, with three to four hundred creatives in total; on 11-06 there were still 138 live, across 199 countries. About nine in ten are videos, and eight in ten are app install ads.

The copy repeats the same few lines: "Share your everyday connection to power AI. Get rewarded.", "Set Up Once, Earn Daily", "5,000+ Gift Cards". None mention "proxy" or "IP".

Ranked by number of creatives, the most spend goes to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, then Romania, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bulgaria, Nigeria and Kenya. European single creatives get only a few thousand impressions, so Europe and the US aren't the focus. From Sep 7 to Oct 5, it added 30–49 new creatives a week, which is the stretch where installs climbed from 130k to 480k.

Beyond ads, two other sources of volume feed themselves:

- **Referral rewards.** When an invitee stays online for 20 hours, both sides get rewards. New users get $2 on sign-up, double for the first 14 days. Reddit's r/beermoneyglobal, r/IndiaReferral and r/referralcodes have a pile of posts with invite codes; Indian Instagram has reels promoting "earn ₹1,000, get ₹280 bonus" (a review site checked these; the official side has no 280 figure).

- **"Real or fake" videos.** YouTube has a dozen or so Hindi videos titled "Bixberry real or fake / withdrawal proof", each with 1k to 5.7k views, all with invite links in the description. In South Asian online-earning circles, "can you actually cash out?" is itself a kind of content.

It has also run two paid press releases (GlobeNewswire 9-04, Digital Journal 9-28), meant to make it look like a "legitimate company" when searched. Its official TikTok has only 823 followers, so it isn't a channel.

### Where the money comes from: selling IP by the GB, paying users in gift cards

It hasn't disclosed any revenue. Here's roughly how the math likely works (inference): residential proxies are priced per traffic volume when sold to enterprises. On the user side it only pays out gift cards, with a $10 threshold. Many devices in emerging markets can't push enough requests in a day to reach that threshold, or take months to get there. The one-star review's "at least 10 months" shows exactly why its costs stay low.

What's really valuable in this business is the buyer: who buys these IPs and how much they pay. Bixberry says it has 17+ vetted AI partners, but hasn't named any of them.

### Who it's competing with

| Product | Where | Scale | How Bixberry differs from its rivals |
|---|---|---|---|
| Honeygain | Android APK from the official website / iOS / desktop, 2019 | Established leader | Delisted from Play, so it can't run Play install ads; cashes out via PayPal and crypto; pitched as "selling idle bandwidth" |
| Pawns.app(IPRoyal) | Android Play / iOS / desktop, 2021 | Play 16.8M, 54k added per week | Local older rival, still on Play, with survey tasks; pitched more as a "make money app" |
| EarnApp(Bright Data) | Android APK from website / desktop | Not verified | Flagged as harmful by Play Protect; the parent company is itself a proxy reseller |
| Grass | Browser extension / desktop, 2023 | Crypto projects | Also pitches itself as "feeding data to AI", but pays in tokens, aimed at crypto users |
| Mysterium | Android Play, 2023 | Play 1.01M, 5.6k added per week | Mainly VPN, nodes as a sideline |
| PacketStream, Repocket, Traffmonetizer and others | Mostly installers / desktop apps | Small | PayPal cash-outs, only in the make-money-online crowd |

(installs are Google Play, 11-06)

The category is old and the competition is crowded. Only two things are new: staying on Play through compliance, and the "serving AI" pitch. So far I haven't seen another new Play app leading with "share your network for AI".

### How well known is it?

Not very. Nobody on X has mentioned it in ~90 days, mainstream tech media hasn't covered it, and only paid press releases exist. The talk happens on Reddit's make-money-online subs, in Indian "real or fake" review videos, and in referral-code threads. It's hot in that niche and almost unknown outside it.

### If it were you

**Verdict: the playbook is worth learning, but most small teams shouldn't copy it.** Its product is no different in essence from the same category of the past decade. It got through because of three things: it stayed on Play, it was willing to spend on paid acquisition in cheap countries, and it adopted the AI framing. The first two depend on something a copycat rarely has: a proxy buyer willing to buy your IP on a long-term, per-volume basis. Without that buyer, the 1M devices you accumulate are just 1M gift-card liabilities.

**Who it suits** : teams already working in proxies, data collection, or ad verification, or people who can sign a supply contract with a proxy reseller. For them, Bixberry proves one thing: the Play slot is open. State the purpose clearly and get explicit user consent, and you can get listed and run paid acquisition.

**Who it's not for** : indie devs with no B2B buyers; also not for anyone targeting Western users. Volume and cheap traffic for these apps sit in South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa, where each device earns very little.

**How to do it (if you have a buyer)** :

- Fix what it does badly. The bad reviews cluster on two things: cash-outs that take months, and battery and data drain. Lower the threshold to $1–$2 and offer redemptions locals actually use: in India, mobile top-ups and UPI; in Indonesia and the Philippines, e-wallets; in Kenya, M-Pesa airtime. That will move people more than 5,000 gift-card brands (inference).

- Run only on Wi-Fi and while charging, and put that in the ad copy. It directly answers the complaint from Krishna's review.

- Copy its listing approach: purpose in the first sentence, consent on the first screen, and an explicit list of "does not access / monitor / sell".

**How to get users** : Google App Install ads targeting low-cost countries, with creative that only says "set it up once, earn daily, power AI". Pair it with an invite reward paid on online time (Bixberry uses 20 hours), which drives referrals and deters abuse. The "real or fake" videos from South Asian make-money creators will grow on their own; get early creators invite links and cash-out screenshots.

**A lighter path** : skip the app and make content. "Does [app] really pay out?" is an ongoing business on YouTube in Hindi, Urdu and Bengali. Attach invite links and earn commission, with no proxy buyer and no Play policy exposure.

**Before when** : The window depends on Google's policy, not on the competition. 2026 In January Google cleared out another round of proxy networks, and apps with explicit user consent are now the category that gets through. Once the rules tighten, the window closes the same day.

**What would mean you read it wrong** :

- Bixberry gets removed from Play or flagged by Play Protect before year-end. The slot isn't safe, so don't enter.

- Within three months a batch of "share your network for AI" clones appears on Play, all buying traffic in South Asia. The thesis that the slot is empty is out of date.

- Conversely, if it keeps adding creative in December, installs pass 2M, and ratings stay above 4 stars, that shows devices in low-cost countries still sell, and this supply chain is worth pursuing seriously.

## Bixberry (ai.bixberry.app): why it got traction

> Research date 2026-11-06. Data sources: our googleplay / appstore / googleads / metaads / tiktokads libraries (agent-im server), Jina/Exa web search, TikHub, x-radar.

### One line

Bixberry is a **bandwidth-sharing app (residential proxy exit node)** : users rent out the idle network of their phone or computer in the background in exchange for gift cards. It repackages the old category of Honeygain / Pawns / EarnApp with the pitch of "helping AI see live web pages". It got traction mainly through three things: **getting listed on Google Play** (Honeygain and EarnApp were both removed from Play), **running large-scale Google Ads app-install campaigns focused on South Asia and emerging markets** , and **gift cards redeemable globally with a low threshold, plus invite rewards** .

### 1. Data: how big it is and how it grew

**Google Play (googleplay library, app_snap / app_day_ext)**

- As of 2026-11-06: 1,274,143 total installs, 14,497 ratings, average 4.34; installs up +255,567 over the past 7 days (about 36k/day), with 330–500 new ratings per day.

- Curve since listing (AppstoreSpy estimate, app_day_ext):
    - 2026-08-16 about 10k (Play listing date 2026-07-26)
    - 09-05 about 131k
    - 09-23 about 260k; 09-24 single-day +62k
    - 10-04 about 477k
    - 10-08 single-day +100k, reaching 579k
    - 10-26 about 1.02M
    - 11-06 about 1.27M
    - Clear acceleration from late September; October alone added about 550k.

- Chart rank (chart_rank): only ever charted in the TOOLS category's Top Free chart. In India it hit #36 on 10-29, then slipped to #98 on 11-06; in Nigeria it sat at #134–192 and in South Africa at #94–193, and both have since dropped off the chart 11-05/06. New installs are cooling: from 11-04 to 11-06 they ran about 1–27k a day, and in late October it was 3–70k a day.

- Rating distribution (app_snap.histogram, 11-06): 1 star 1,469,2, 133,3 star 534,4, 2,137,5 star 10,199. The 5-star share is about 70%. After 11-04 shipped 1.4.1 versions, the 1-star share rose from about 1,000 to about 1,450.

- Side by side: Pawns.app (IPRoyal, listed 2021 years ago) has 16.8M total on Play and +54k over the past 7 days. **Bixberry's weekly additions are about 4.8 times its** (googleplay library app_profile).

**iOS (appstore library)**

- App ID 6767462542, developer Cloudsquad UAB, listed 2026-07-01.

- Rating counts in each storefront are single to low double digits (Pakistan 12, Jamaica 7, Nepal 6), and it has only appeared near the tail of free category charts in a few small countries. **iOS has barely taken off; the volume is all on Android.**

**Windows** : beta on Microsoft Store and direct download from the website; macOS still "coming soon" (bixberry.com).

### 2. What it is, who built it, where the money comes from

- **Operator:** UAB "Cloudsquad", Vilnius, Lithuania, company code 305987463,2022-01-24 (bixberry.com/terms-of-service; scoris.lt; rekvizitai.vz.lt).
    - Public registry data: 1 employees, 2023 revenue of €47.7k a year, sole shareholder is another company. That reads like a shell or project company with a parent behind it, but I couldn't find out who the parent is.
    - The team page lists only first names: Egle (CPO, Egle Maldute), Darius (CTO), Goda (CMO), and says they've "built web products for years" (bixberry.com/about-us).
    - Vilnius is where the residential proxy industry clusters: Oxylabs, Decodo/Smartproxy, IPRoyal (parent of Pawns.app) and Honeygain are all based there. **Industry background is likely, but unverified.**

- **What it actually sells:** the terms say in plain words that the user's device "becomes a gateway to internet traffic, used by Bixberry's customers." Customers "include but are not limited to" AI companies, for LLM training, search augmentation, **ad verification and web data collection** . The terms also warn that users may get CAPTCHAs on some sites as a result (terms-of-service). In substance it's the IP supply side of a residential proxy network. "AI" is the outward-facing pitch and positioning.
    - Official claims: 17+ vetted AI partners, active users in 187 countries, about 3,000 requests per person per day (bixberry.com).

- **How users get paid:** earnings are based on online time and completed "AI requests." Users with good network quality get a 2x Premium rate.
    - First withdrawal threshold is $10, and $20 for each withdrawal after that. **Payouts are gift cards only:** 5,000+ brands across 100+ countries, delivered through GIFQ's Payout API (gifq.com/blog/bixberry-gift-card-payouts).
    - The terms define balance as "points with no intrinsic value." Once you hit the threshold, unredeemed balance expires after 2 years, and accounts inactive for 6 months may be wiped (terms as quoted by invitelinks.in).
    - Only one device per IP can earn (support.bixberry.com).

- **Why the business makes money (inference):** residential proxies are sold to businesses by the GB. Users get only gift cards, and many users in emerging markets have little demand and never reach the $10 threshold. An Indian review site quotes Play reviews estimating "$1 in 10 days," and others saying "$1 in under 100 hours" (invitelinks.in, 2026-10-24). Supply costs are low, and the spread is the gross margin.

### 3. Competitors

| Product | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Bixberry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Honeygain | Android (APK from the website only) / iOS / desktop | 2019 | Established leader, user count unverified | Removed from Google Play under the Device and Network Abuse policy; says its appeal got no response (support.honeygain.com). Withdraws via PayPal/crypto. Pitch is "sell your idle bandwidth." |
| Pawns.app(IPRoyal) | Android on Play / iOS / desktop | 2021-08(Play) | Play 16.8M installs, 54k weekly growth (googleplay library) | Lithuanian peer in the same city, still on Play; also has survey tasks. Pitch leans toward "earning app." |
| EarnApp(Bright Data) | Android APK from the website / desktop | Around 2020 | Not verified | Google Play Protect flags it as "harmful app" (help.earnapp.com); pays a fixed monthly amount per IP. |
| Grass | Browser extension / desktop | 2023 | Crypto token project; says it supplies training data to AI labs | Incentivizes with tokens, community is crypto. Bixberry uses gift cards and targets mainstream users. |
| Mysterium | Android on Play / desktop | 2023(Play) | Play 1.01M (per Google Play library), growing 5.6k a week | Mainly VPN, nodes as a sideline, crypto-oriented |
| PacketStream / Repocket / Traffmonetizer / Packetshare | Mostly APK / desktop | 2018–2023 | Small | PayPal withdrawals, beermoney community |
| Upstream B2B: Oxylabs, Bright Data, etc. | Enterprise services | — | Big | These are the buyers of IP, not competitors on the same side |

Bottom line: **the category itself is old and crowded. What's new is staying compliant on Play, plus the "serving AI" positioning.**

### 4. Growth tactics (evidence)

1. **Heavy Google Ads buying (confirmed, main channel):** the googleads library matches the advertiser "Cloudsquad, UAB" (Lithuania, verified).
    - Scale: 300–400 creatives in total; 11-06 have 138 running, 7 running in the last 244 days, across 199 countries. Video is 91%, app install campaigns are 85%; 99 creatives link to Play, all still running.
    - Timeline: first creative on 2026-06-03; volume picks up in late July; the new creative counts for the weeks of 9-07, 9-21, 9-28 and 10-05 are 42, 49, 30 and 30. **This lines up exactly with the install curve's acceleration from late September into October.**
    - Countries ranked by creative count: India 162, Pakistan 122, Bangladesh 104, Nepal 94, Romania 93, Indonesia 85, Philippines 74, Bulgaria 74, Nigeria 73, Kenya 69… Main focus is South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.
    - European single-creative impressions are only in the thousands (eea_impr), so Europe and the US are not the focus.
    - User-side evidence: a Reddit r/artificial post, "I got an ad for it."

2. **Referral virality + new-user bonus (confirmed):**
    - Mechanics: sign up with an invite code/link; both sides get a reward once the invitee is online for 20 hours (support.bixberry.com). New users get $2 on signup (GlobeNewswire 2026-09-04). There's a launch bonus with 14 days of double earnings. The official TikTok runs the code GHOSTBIX for $3.
    - What it generates: Reddit's r/beermoneyglobal, r/IndiaReferral, r/referralcodes and r/passive_income have lots of posts with invite codes. wethrift has a coupon page. Indian Instagram reels advertise "earn Rs 1,000, get Rs 280 bonus" (invitelinks.in checked and found the official terms have no Rs 280 figure).

3. **Indian "real or fake" YouTube reviews (confirmed, mostly creators on their own or with referral codes):** a Hindi channel's "Bixberry real or fake / withdrawal" series has a dozen or so videos, each with between 1K and 5.7K views, and descriptions containing join.bixberry.com invite links.

4. **Paid PR (confirmed):** a launch press release on GlobeNewswire 2026-09-04 (labeled sponsored content), and a Digital Journal advertorial 2026-09-28. The main purpose is to back up the "legitimate company" claim and for SEO.

5. **Official TikTok (confirmed, but tiny):** @bixberryapp has only 823 followers and 1–5K views per video. Not an effective channel.

6. **Meta / TikTok ads:** nothing found in the metaads library. The tiktokads library shows no_ads (it only covers TikTok ads in Europe). Not finding it doesn't mean they didn't run.

### 5. Why it's breaking out

1. **Its rivals got pushed off Play, and it got in.** Honeygain was removed from Play and EarnApp was flagged as harmful by Play Protect. The category's leaders on Android can only be installed manually as APKs.
    - Bixberry is compliantly listed on Play, rated Mature 17+, with the description stating clearly that it is "opt-in, can be turned off at any time." Play policy permits apps whose "primary and disclosed purpose" is shared networking.
    - Being on Play means it can run Google app install ads (UAC) and also capture organic search traffic. **This is a structural distribution advantage.**

2. **Timing:** 2026-01-28 Google, jointly with others, took down the IPIDEA residential proxy network, and Play Protect removed apps embedding its SDK, cutting "millions of devices from proxy pools" (Google Cloud blog).
    - The covert SDK-embedding supply route got squeezed while AI scrapers' demand for residential IPs kept growing, so a self-owned app with explicit consent became a safer way to supply IPs.
    - This is inference: the timeline fits, but there is no direct statement from the company to confirm it.

3. **Paid acquisition, targeting cheap markets.** The acceleration in installs coincides with the peak in new Google Ads creatives. Spend is concentrated in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries with very low CPI.
    - The results match: on the Play charts it only appears in the TOOLS category in India, Nigeria and South Africa.

4. **The AI pitch lowered guard and policy risk.** Framing it as "let ChatGPT/Claude see today's web" instead of "rent out your IP" goes down easier with ad reviewers, store reviewers and users.

5. **Low cash-out bar, redeemable globally.** Gift cards from 5,000+ brands, redeemable from $10, cover emerging markets without PayPal. Referral rewards are cash-equivalent, which spreads naturally in South Asia's "earning app" communities.

### 6. Differentiation, and whether that's why it took off

- **Differentiation:** ① survives compliantly on Google Play, which the leaders can't do; ② positioning and branding as "live web access for AI," while rivals sell "idle bandwidth / passive income"; ③ global gift card payouts (GIFQ), low threshold, friendly to emerging markets.

- **Is it the cause?** Yes, but split it apart. ① is the **prerequisite** : without it, there's no Play ad buying and no search capture. ② mainly helps compliance and conversion; the real volume comes from Google Ads. ③ plus the referral mechanic lets it spread on its own inside South Asia's beermoney communities.
    - The product itself isn't fundamentally different from its rivals (background running, pay-per-demand, one IP per device). Many user reviews complain about low earnings and battery drain, so **it's not product strength driving this. It's a distribution playbook of "can list on the store + willing to buy traffic + AI narrative."**

### 7. How many people know about it

- No public revenue figures: nothing on TrustMRR, and founders haven't posted any numbers.

- Not discussed on X: x-radar shows 0 mention(s) of bixberry in the last 90 days.

- Never covered by mainstream tech media, only paid press releases.

- Discussion is concentrated in beermoney-type subreddits on Reddit, Indian "is this earning app legit" YouTube videos and review sites, and referral-code posts on social media. One Reddit passive-income guide even calls it "very suspicious".

- → **Whispered in small circles** (the side-hustle / beermoney crowd). Almost nobody outside the niche or in investor circles knows about it.

### 8. Copycats

After checking the Google Play library for 2025-10, we found no newly listed apps with descriptions mentioning "idle network / shared connection" that market themselves as "sharing bandwidth for AI". **No obvious copycats yet.**

### 9. Takeaways

- If a category has been squeezed out by platform policy, and you can list it compliantly as "explicit opt-in + stated purpose + can be turned off", you get that platform's paid acquisition and search traffic to yourself.

- Wrapping an old business in today's narrative (AI needs real-time data) improves ad approval, user trust and how easily media can write about it, all at once.

- A two-sided supply market: buy installs in low-CPI regions to build up "devices / IPs" and "country coverage"; on the user side, use gift cards and high redemption thresholds to control payout costs, and settle invite rewards by "20 hours online" to stop people gaming it.

### 10. Uncertain

- Who owns Cloudsquad, and whether it's tied to Lithuanian proxy companies like Oxylabs, IPRoyal or Honeygain: **unverified** .

- Who the "AI partners" actually are, what the traffic sells for, and what the gross margin is: not disclosed.

- How long it can stay on Play: similar apps have been pulled before, and after 11-04 shipped the 1.4.1 version, one-star reviews went up. We haven't found out why.

- The scale of Google Ads spend and the cost per install (CPI) are unknown. We found no Meta ads, but that doesn't mean there were none.

- The Reddit post bodies couldn't be retrieved (403), so we only used search summaries.
