Kismo - Talk to Astrologer · ParakeetAI

# A 272-view short video, and an AI company doing ~$1M/month takes astrology to India

**What it is** An India-focused astrology app: top up a wallet, then chat or call a live astrologer by the minute, with a free first session.

**Why it's trending** ParakeetAI, which makes an AI interview assistant and claims ~€1M/month, has brought its playbook of "lots of creator accounts posting short videos + programmatic SEO + comparison pages naming the leader" into India's high-paying astrology category, which Astrotalk has already proven.

**C** **How you could follow it** Don't build Indian live astrology; copy the product selection and distribution: find a service that's booming in one country, already validated by a giant, where users resent the giant, then get in with a free first session, a competitor comparison page, multi-account short videos and batch SEO pages.

Grade C: the category is already crowded (Astrotalk at 115M installs, new AI astrology launches at 7.7M in two months, cloneable source code sold publicly). Kismo has no product differentiation of its own, never charted, and is about a third the size of other same-year entrants. It runs on its parent company's ready-made distribution machine, which typical followers don't have. What you can copy is the playbook. Barely anyone knows about it yet

Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-08-26 · 11-07 installs 76,564

Android · Total installs worldwide

Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.

Kismo is an Indian astrology app on Google Play where you pay by the minute to chat or call a live astrologer. Since launching 10 weeks ago it has reached 76k installs, with a product that's nearly identical to Astrotalk's, and it's small even within its category. What's worth looking at isn't the app itself but the company behind it: ParakeetAI, which makes an AI interview assistant and claims ~€1M/month, has moved its best-known playbook of "lots of creators posting short videos + thousands of SEO pages" into a category India has already shown pays. Below: what it is, where the numbers come from, who it's competing with, what you should learn from it, and why you shouldn't copy the astrology part.

### A short video posted a week before launch

In Aug 2026 19, a personal YouTube channel called Vaishnavi Agnihotri posted a Short with just one line as the title:

> Kismo is the easiest astrology app. You can use to stop your overthinking.

"Kismo is the simplest astrology app, use it to stop overthinking." By Nov 6 the video had 272 views and 3 likes, with comments turned off. Kismo wasn't on the store yet at that point; it first appeared on Google Play in Aug 26.

In Sep 4, another account called @shefoundastro ("she found astro") posted "All your answers on Kismo app✨ #adkismo #astrology" for 788 views. #adkismo is a paid-partnership tag. Instagram looks the same: several accounts posting Reels with emotional hooks like "astrologers don't hold back" and "when you'll get married, timing matters," ending with "comment CHART" and "link in bio, kismo.app."

Each video on its own gets pitifully few views. But that's how this playbook works: not one viral hit, but lots of accounts and lots of videos feeding people in one by one. Kismo's own site is blunt about it: "Our channels and creators are introducing Kismo's astrologers to people who want a reading, every day."

### What it is: Astrotalk's model, copied as is

Open the app and you get a row of astrologers: specialty, languages, years of experience, rating. Pick one, top up your wallet, and chat or call billed by the minute. Supports Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and 12 languages in total (Google Play description). Also works on the web. The iOS version says "coming soon."

This model was built by Astrotalk in India. Astrotalk launched 2017 years ago, has 115M installs on Google Play (11-06), and has said publicly that most of its revenue comes from per-minute chats. Indians pay to ask about marriage, jobs, moving abroad, and the stuff family keeps pushing. Each session adds up, and people come back.

Kismo's additions are all aimed at Astrotalk's complaints. In Sep 22 it published a comparison page, "Kismo or Astrotalk?", opening with a modest line: "Reading this is like reading any company compare itself to a bigger one." Then it lists the differences:

- The first session is free, no card, no prepaid top-up;

- From ₹15/min, same price for chat and call (it found Astrotalk chats at ₹20–61 and calls up to ₹90);

- No gems or charms (Astrotalk has an AstroMall);

- When your balance runs out, chat pauses and waits for a top-up instead of cutting you off;

- Support comes from the platform, not the astrologer.

It makes a sharp point: "Open any review site and people complain about the meter, not whether the predictions are accurate."

### Where the volume comes from

| Date | Google Play cumulative installs (AppstoreSpy estimate) | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| 09-02 | About 1,500 | First week on the store |
| 09-24 | About 15k | Hundreds a day in September |
| 10-09 | About 33k | 10-03/04 two days +5.8k |
| 10-24 | About 52k | 10-21 to 24 four days +12k |
| 11-06 | 76,564 | +21.5k in the last 7 days |

The curve comes in bursts: it rises for a few days, then flattens. 10-05, 10-06, 10-15 and 10-27 each added only a few dozen. That looks more like a batch of videos or a batch of ads landing than the steady climb you get from organic store search (inference). It sped up in late October, just before India's festival season (Karva Chauth, Diwali), when people ask about auspicious dates and relationships more often. Whether that's the cause, I can't confirm.

Four visible sources of traffic:

**Short-form creators.** The Shorts and Reels mentioned above. India banned TikTok, so Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts are the main stage. The official Instagram @kismo.app has only about 2,500 followers but posts every day or two. The official Facebook page has only 14 follows yet shows "100 people talking about this," with video titles like "Blocked by your ex? Want to know if he still cares?" Few followers and lots of discussion suggests the page is boosted with paid posts (inference).

**2,800+ SEO pages.** The kismo.app sitemap lists 2,844 URLs: 1,672 articles, 522 Hindi-language pages, 468 topic pages (such as "which astrologer for relationship problems"), pages split by city and language ("find an astrologer who speaks Punjabi"), zodiac pages, and 8 free calculators. There are also pages that name competitors directly: Kismo vs Astrotalk, vs AstroSage, vs InstaAstro, vs Anytime Astro, and "best astrology app in India." Their last-modified dates cluster between 10-29 and 11-05, and they already show up in Google search.

**First session free.** The hardest part of pay-per-minute is the first payment. Kismo removes it.

**Poaching astrologers from rivals.** Its recruiting page says "Astrologers here earn on average 60% more, and none of them have to advertise themselves" and "Our channels and creators promote you every day." The astrologer agreement has an exclusivity clause: while on Kismo, you can't take sessions on other astrology platforms.

There's no visible evidence of paid buying on Meta or Google. But its parent company is hiring a "paid acquisition lead," and the curve is pulsed, so paid spend is possible.

### Who's behind it: a machine that's been run before

The developer on Google Play is ParakeetAI, company PARAKEETAI d.o.o. in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Its core product is an AI interview assistant that gives you live answer prompts during interviews. It went viral on short video thanks to the "interview cheating" controversy. Founder Jure Sotošek has said publicly that the company is bootstrapped and monthly revenue has passed €1M. In 2026, in Sep 4, he posted a hiring call on X that read "8 months from 0 to $5.8M." An Indie Hackers interview from Sep 23 says they built an organic traffic engine of about 1B views a month, driven mainly by short video. On Instagram and Reddit, creators discuss how much they get paid per video for Parakeet.

The same developer account put out TarkoAI in Oct 22, an NCERT exam-prep app for India, and it already has over 50k installs. What this company is doing is clear: **running the same distribution machine and testing one vertical after another in India, where demand to pay has already been proven.** Astrology is one of them.

### Who it's competing with

Almost all of them. Install counts below are from Google Play, 11-06:

| Product | Type | Launched | Total installs | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Astrotalk | Real people, per minute | 2017 | 115M, +7k in the last 580 days | The leader, Kismo's main target |
| AstroSage Kundli | Tools + humans + AI | 2011 | 82.3M | Started with birth-chart tools |
| InstaAstro | Real people, per minute | 2021 | 12.3M | Same model |
| Astroyogi, Anytime Astro, AstroLokal, Pandit Ji, AstroChat.com and others | Real people, per minute | 2016–2026 | 1.72M to 20.8M | Some are backed by large companies (AstroChat.com is part of the Shaadi group) |
| Astro Chat(App24 Studio) | Real people, per minute | 2026-05 | 270k | Same-year entrant, 3.5x Kismo's size |
| Reva - Personal AI Astrologer | AI astrologers | 2026-09-08 | 7.73M, +7k in the last 716 days | Launched two weeks after Kismo, 100x its size |
| Astro99 / Tarot99 | AI astrology | 2025 | 16.1M / 10.1M | AI is cheaper and always available |

One more thing: clone source code for Astrotalk is openly sold online. The product itself has no moat. The hard parts are where the astrologers come from and where the users come from.

Kismo is the smallest tier on this list. It bets on "all real humans, no software or AI prediction," the opposite of the AI astrology everywhere in 2026. It's a positioning angle, not a moat: per-minute billing, human reviewers, and multiple languages are all things the big players already have.

Also worth noting: Kismo's homepage claims "3Cr+ (30M) users" and "18,000+ verified astrologers," its recruiting page says "11,000+ astrologers, hundreds of thousands of users," and its comparison page claims a Play rating of 4.7 (actually 4.6,648 reviews, 11-06), while the real install count is only 76k. These numbers don't match, and the overstatement is obvious.

### Revenue: not visible

The app is listed as "contains in-app purchases", so the model is wallet top-ups billed per minute. But it has never charted in any top grossing list. It only sits on India's Lifestyle Top Free chart, climbing from #104 on 10-29 to #77 on 11-06. No public revenue figures either. Searching X for "kismo" turns up nobody mentioning it in nearly 90 days, and no press coverage. Whether it actually makes money, or how well users come back, nobody outside knows.

### If it were you

**C** : copy its playbook, not its category. What Kismo proves is that a machine built on short video and SEO pages can be moved into any category that's already been validated. It doesn't prove there's room left in Indian live astrology, or that it can scale there.

**Who it fits** : small teams that already have working distribution, such as a stable of creator accounts or the ability to mass-produce SEO pages, looking for the next category to deploy it in. What to take from ParakeetAI is its product selection logic: find a service that a country's giant has already proven people will pay a premium for, where users openly resent the giant. Position on "we won't rip you off," and build your selling points and comparison pages around the giant's bad reviews.

**Who it doesn't fit** : solo indie devs with no distribution who want to build a "better Astrotalk." This is a market where you fight on two fronts: you have to win users and poach astrologers. The leader has 115M installs, a new AI-astrology app can hit 7.7M in two months, and clone source code is openly for sale, which makes the product itself worthless. Kismo has a company doing ~$1M a month behind it, and it's still only a third the size of its same-year rival.

**How to approach it** : if you really want to go after this space, don't build Indian live astrology. Alternatives: ① **Change the country** . Per-minute consultations with real people (tarot, spiritual guidance, feng shui) exist elsewhere too. First check whether that country has a big leader with bad reviews. ② **Change the category** . Use the same approach for other high-ticket, per-minute services with real experts (relationship counseling, legal advice, vet consults): first session free, comparison pages, and pages spread by city and language.

**How to get users** : run two channels, as Kismo does. On short video, don't bet on one hit. Launch many topic accounts (names like @shefoundastro) and post emotional hook videos daily, with CTAs to "comment the keyword" and a link to the profile. On SEO, start with "[leader name] alternative" and "[leader] vs [you]" pages, then mass-produce long-tail pages by city, language and topic. On the supply side, use a higher revenue share and a "we'll send you clients" offer to poach the leader's astrologers (inference: without a creator network, this is the hardest part to pull off).

**When to move** : there's no deadline. The window for Indian live astrology has already closed. When you pick the next category, first check how many negative reviews the leader has in that country.

**Signs you've misread it** : ① Kismo enters India's Lifestyle top-grossing chart within a month or two, or installs climb into the hundreds of thousands. That would mean the distribution machine can still win in this category, and the field is looser than it looks. ② Its iOS version launches and it expands to other countries. That would mean the parent company has decided this line makes money and is doubling down. ③ The reverse: if by year end its Reels and Shorts stop, its SEO pages stop updating, and installs stall below 100k, the machine hasn't moved this category.

Competitors

| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from this one |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Astrotalk | Android | 2017 | 115M installs, +7k in the last 580 days | The leader, which sells gems via AstroMall. Kismo focuses on transparent billing, a free first session with no top-up, no gem sales, and built a comparison page aimed directly at it. |
| AstroSage Kundli | Android | 2011 | 82.3M installs | Started with tools and content, then added AI. Kismo stresses that everyone is a real human and that it doesn't use software predictions. |
| InstaAstro | Android | 2021 | 12.3M installs | Same model. Kismo differentiates only on positioning and comparison pages. |
| Astroyogi / Anytime Astro / AstroLokal / Pandit Ji / AstroChat.com | Android | 2016–2026 | 1.72M to 20.8M installs | Veteran players or big-company players in the same model. All much larger than Kismo. |
| Astro Chat - Talk to Astrologer(App24 Studio) | Android | 2026-05 | 270k installs | Same-period entrant, same model, 3.5x Kismo's size. |
| Reva - Personal AI Astrologer | Android | 2026-09-08 | 7.73M installs, +7k in the last 716 days | AI astrologers, the opposite direction. Kismo sells all real humans. |
| Astro99 / Tarot99(Primetrace) | Android | 2025 | 16.1M / 10.1M installs | AI astrology: cheap and always available. Kismo goes with real humans billed per minute. |
| Astrotalk clone script | Other | | Sold publicly | No product-level barrier. The gap is in user acquisition and astrologer supply. |

Where users come from

- **Verified** **Instagram Reels / YouTube Shorts creator UGC** : several personal accounts post Kismo promo videos (Shorts gB6w3PI2XZI, tzZ54C8UIeQ tagged #adkismo, jDqwQhhDl7s; IG Reels "Link in bio kismo.app" "Comment CHART"). The official site says "Our channels and creators introduce Kismo astrologers…" The parent company's stated playbook is a short-video engine producing about 1B views a month (Indie Hackers 2026-09-23).

- **Verified** **Programmatic SEO + competitor comparison pages** : the sitemap has 2,844 URLs (1,672 articles, 522 Hindi pages, 468 topic pages, plus pages by language and city), along with kismo-vs-astrotalk/astrosage/instaastro/anytime-astro and best-astrology-apps-india; lastmod is clustered between 10-29 and 11-05

- **Verified** **Official Instagram / Facebook accounts** : IG @kismo.app has about 2,500 followers and posts every 1–2 days; the FB Page has only 14 followers but shows "100 talking about this" (possibly ads or boosted posts)

- **Verified** **Free first session to drive sign-ups** : terms and comparison pages say "first session free, no card, no top-up required"

- **Verified** **Poaching astrologers from rivals on the supply side** : the /astrologers page says "60% higher average pay", and the agreement has an exclusivity clause

- Inferred **Store search + early reviews** : the description copies the keyword structure of Talk to Astrologer; a batch of long five-star reviews appeared in the first week after launch, possibly solicited

- Inferred **Paid acquisition on Meta / Google** : our ad libraries don't cover it; the parent company is hiring a Head of Paid Acquisition, and the install curve is pulsed

## Why Kismo - Talk to Astrologer (app.kismo) is breaking out

> Channel: Google Play (India) | Developer: ParakeetAI (PARAKEETAI d.o.o., Ljubljana, Slovenia) | Launched 2026-08-26 | Research date 2026-11-06

### Bottom line

Kismo isn't a hit because of a novel product. It's **ParakeetAI (an AI interview assistant; founder Jure Sotošek claims €1M+ MRR, bootstrapped)** taking its playbook of a short-video creator army plus programmatic SEO and applying it to a proven, very profitable category: India's pay-per-minute live astrologer apps (the Astrotalk model). By the numbers it's still a small player: 76K installs in 2.5 months, ranked #77 in India's free Lifestyle chart. Meanwhile, several apps in this category that launched in the past 2026 years have hit seven figures.

### 1. Data: how big it is and how it grew

- Cumulative global installs 76,564 (googleplay library app_snap, 2026-11-06), store tier 50K+; +7 in the last 21,544 days.

- Curve since launch (googleplay library app_day_ext, AppstoreSpy estimates): 9-02 about 1.5k, 9-24 about 15k, 10-09 about 33k, 10-24 about 52k, 11-02 about 74k. September averaged 400–950 a day; from late October it rose to 2k–5k a day, in **waves of pulses** : 10-03/04 two days +5.8k, 10-07~09 +6.9k, 10-21~24 four days +12k, 10-29~11-02 +18.6k. Between pulses there were often days with almost no growth (10-05, 10-06, 10-10, 10-15, 10-27/28 each only 8–38). This shape looks more like **videos going viral one after another, or batches of paid promotion** than the steady volume of organic store search.

- Charts: only on the India LIFESTYLE Top Free chart, climbing from #10-29 to #104,11-06 77 (googleplay library chart_rank). Never charted in Top Grossing.

- Rating: 4.6 stars on the Play page with 648 reviews (Play page, 11-06). The earliest reviews, dated 8-30 to 9-04, are long, neatly worded five-stars ("The interface is simple… Highly recommended!") posted in the first week after launch, which looks like seeded users or solicited reviews (unverified).

- Versions 1.4.4 (10-22) and 1.4.5 (11-03), shipped frequently. The website says "Coming soon on the App Store", so iOS isn't live yet; the web app works directly (kismo.app/signin/client).

### 2. Competitors: this niche is crowded

The pay-per-minute, live-human-astrologer model (chat or call) was validated by Astrotalk and has many players; in 2026 a large wave of **AI astrologers** also flooded in. The figures below come from the googleplay library, 2026-11-06.

| Product | Type | Launched | Installs / last 7 days | How it differs from Kismo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Astrotalk | Real people, per minute | 2017 | 115M / +580k | The leader, sells gems via AstroMall; Kismo wrote a comparison page attacking it for "messy billing, aggressive upselling, poor support" |
| AstroSage Kundli | Tools + humans + AI | 2011 | 82.3M / +295k | Started with tools and content; Kismo leads with "real humans, no software predictions" |
| InstaAstro | Real people, per minute | 2021 | 12.3M / +110k | Same model; Kismo has a kismo-vs-instaastro comparison page |
| Astroyogi / Anytime Astro / AstroLokal / Pandit Ji / Horocosmo / HiAstro / AstroChat.com (People Interactive, Shaadi group) | Real people, per minute | 2016–2026 | 1.72M to 20.8M | Same model, some backed by large companies |
| Astro Chat - Talk to Astrologer(App24 Studio) | Live humans billed per minute, 2026 new product | 2026-05 | 270k | New entrant in the same period, 3.5 times Kismo's scale |
| Reva - Personal AI Astrologer (package name in.mohalla.reva) | AI astrologers | 2026-09-08 | 7.73M / +716k | Launched two weeks after Kismo and 100 times its scale; Kismo went the opposite way with "all real humans" |
| Astro99 / Tarot99(Primetrace) | AI astrology | 2025 | 16.1M / 10.1M | Same as above |
| NakshAI, MyNaksh, Melooha, AskPandit, etc. | AI astrology / horoscope charts | 2023–2026 | Hundreds of thousands to a few million | Same as above |
| Astrotalk clone scripts sold publicly | White-label | — | — | Low product barrier; the hard parts are astrologer supply and customer acquisition |

Bottom line: Kismo has **nothing new** in product form. It's a very small late entrant in this category, smaller than the similar apps launched in 2026 (Reva, NakshAI, Astro Chat).

### 3. Growth levers: where users come from (evidence)

1. **Short-video creators / UGC army (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook)** , ParakeetAI's core competence.
    - On YouTube Shorts several personal accounts promote Kismo: @vaishnaviagnihotri510 "Kismo is the easiest astrology app. You can use to stop your overthinking" (youtube.com/shorts/gB6w3PI2XZI); "All your answers on Kismo app #adkismo #astrology" (youtube.com/shorts/tzZ54C8UIeQ, where #adkismo marks a paid partnership); "check the 5 signs and kismo app link in description box" (jDqwQhhDl7s); "Get your astrology reading done on kismo.app" (1jjD0P2R_Z8).
    - Several Instagram accounts also post Reels: "I had questions, and Kismo made it easy to ask… Comment CHART…" "The astrologer had Zero chill. Check bio to get the link" "Timing matters in Vedic astrology. Link in bio kismo.app" (Jina search results, instagram.com/reel/DfHz1lCyjWA, DfKfsV1hR83, DfSGewKR5kk, DcUEM5XTsYZ). The creatives hook on "love / ex / when will I get married" and drive engagement with "comment the keyword".
    - The official Instagram @kismo.app has only about 2,500 followers but posts almost every 1–2 days (10-16 to 11-05). The official Facebook Page "Kismo App" has only 14 followers yet shows "100 talking about this", and posts videos like "Blocked by your ex? Wondering if he's actually into you?…" With so few followers and so much engagement, it looks more like Page-run ads or boosted posts (unverified).
    - The company says on its own site: "Our channels and creators introduce Kismo astrologers to people looking for a reading, every day" (kismo.app/about).
    - The parent company's playbook is publicly documented: an Indie Hackers 2026-09-23 interview says ParakeetAI "built an organic traffic engine of about 1B views a month" using short-video distribution; passionbits describes it as "12 months, 500M+ views"; Instagram has discussions like "Parakeet AI UGC… creators paid about $1.50…"; and a user on r/UGCcreators asked whether Parakeet's creator recruiting was a scam. Jure 2026-09-04 posted a hiring call on X: "0 to $5.8M in 8 months", with roles including Head of Paid Acquisition and Content Creator (x-radar corpus).
    - Note: TikTok is banned in India, so the main channels are Reels and Shorts.

2. **Programmatic SEO + building content around competitor names** . The kismo.app sitemap has 2,844 URLs: 1,672 /a/ article pages, 522 Hindi pages, 468 /astrologer-for/ pages (by topic, such as love problems), 11 /astrologer-in/ pages (by city), pages by language ("Talk to a Punjabi-speaking astrologer"), 13 zodiac pages and 8 calculators; plus a set of comparison pages: kismo-vs-astrotalk, vs-astrosage, vs-instaastro, vs-anytime-astro and best-astrology-apps-india, along with 14 /compare pages. All lastmod dates fall between 10-29 and 11-05, suggesting this batch went live or was updated recently. These pages already show up in Google search.

3. **Free first session to convert sign-ups** . "First session free, no card, no top-up required" (kismo.app/terms, each comparison page), aimed directly at Astrotalk's "top up first" barrier.

4. **Supply side: poaching astrologers from rivals** . kismo.app/astrologers pushes "60% higher average pay" and "we promote you, you don't need to run your own ads"; the astrologer agreement has an exclusivity clause: "may not offer consultations on other astrology platforms while live on Kismo" (kismo.app/astrologer-agreement).

5. **Store side** : the Play description copies Astrotalk's "Talk to Astrologer" keyword structure and question lists, feeding store search; the first week brought a batch of long five-star reviews (possibly solicited, unverified).

6. **Paid acquisition** : our Meta ad library (which only tracks advertisers discovered through US/GB/DE/JP keywords) and our Google ad library (which only tracks listed products) show no Kismo ads. **Not finding ads doesn't mean none were run** . The parent company is hiring a Head of Paid Acquisition and the install curve is pulsed, so paid spend is possible, but there is no evidence.

### 4. Why it took off (why)

- **Resources** : Backed by a bootstrapped company doing $1M+ a month with cash and a growth team (ParakeetAI d.o.o., 2025-07 registered in Slovenia, address Slovenska cesta 55B). It can use its short-video creator network and SEO content factory to test new categories cheaply. The same account 10-22 also launched TarkoAI (NCERT exam prep for India, already 57k installs). This is a team that **mass-tests proven high-paying verticals in India** .

- **The category itself makes money** : Indians pay for answers on marriage, career, and moving abroad, billed per minute, so ARPU is high. Astrotalk used this model to reach 115M installs and has said publicly that most revenue comes from per-minute chats. Kismo skips education-style market building and copies the model directly.

- **The tactic fits the category** : questions like "Will my ex come back?" or "When will I get married?" are emotional hooks that work well on Reels and Shorts. It's the same playbook ParakeetAI used when its "interview cheating" controversy drove installs (controversy or emotion → short video → conversion).

- **Targeting the leader's pain points** : complaints about the leader center on billing, refunds, and pushing gems. Kismo's comparison page and selling points are almost entirely aimed at these (one rate, pausing instead of cutting off when balance runs out, full chat history kept, no gems, support run by the platform itself).

- **Timing** : late October through November is India's festival season (Karva Chauth, Dhanteras, Diwali), when demand for auspicious timing and love-life questions usually rises. 10-21 growth picked up and overlapped with the festival season, but the causal link is unverified.

### 5. Differentiation: yes, but it isn't why it took off

- Its own stated differentiators: ① **all real astrologers, no software or AI predictions** (wording from the Play listing), going against the grain while AI astrology floods the market in 2026; ② **transparent billing + first session free, no top-up needed** ; ③ **no gem-based rituals** ; ④ a four-step astrologer review process; ⑤ web version in 16 languages.

- My read: these are **marketing positioning, not product moats** . Per-minute billing, human vetting, and multiple languages are all things Astrotalk and InstaAstro offer too; its prices start at ₹15/min, about the same as rivals. What actually drove growth is **distribution** (creator short videos + 2,800 SEO pages + competitor comparison pages). The positioning just gave the content its angle.

- Also note: the homepage claims "3Cr+ Users guided" and "18,000+ Verified astrologers", the astrologer recruitment page says "11,000+ astrologers, lakhs of users", actual installs are only 76k, and the comparison page cites a Play rating of 4.7 (actual 4.6). These social-proof numbers are clearly inflated and don't match each other. Long term, that's a risk for reputation and compliance.

### 6. How many people have seen it

- **Almost nobody knows about it yet.** Searching "kismo" on X returns nothing in the last 90 days (x-radar corpus); there's no press coverage, no TrustMRR listing, and no founder posting Kismo revenue. Jure's public posts are all about ParakeetAI. What can be found is its own website, social accounts, creator promo videos, and AppBrain listing.

- But its **category is already heavily discussed and crowded** : Astrotalk, AI astrology, and publicly sold clone scripts.

- Copycats: none found specifically copying Kismo.

### 7. What others can borrow

- **The combo of "proven category + built-in distribution"** : rather than hunting for new demand, take the channel you already know well (a UGC short-video creator network) and find a category that giant players have validated in some country, has high unit prices, and shows clear user frustration. Position on "we won't rip you off" and write content aimed at the giant's pain points.

- **Competitor comparison pages + batch-generated SEO pages by language, topic, and city** , to cheaply capture long-tail searches like "astrotalk alternative / talk to Punjabi astrologer."

- **First session free, no top-up** , lowering the first-payment barrier for a pay-per-minute model.

- **Fight on both sides at once** : win users with content, and poach astrologers from the leader on the supply side with "higher revenue share + we bring you clients," plus exclusivity clauses.

### 8. Still unclear

- Whether it does paid acquisition and how much it spends (Meta and Google ad libraries don't cover it).

- Paid conversion and revenue; no Top Grossing signal and no public revenue.

- How big the astrologer supply is (the 18,000 / 11,000 figures on the site aren't credible) and how repeat purchase looks.

- Whether early good reviews were solicited.

- Which specific viral videos or ad campaigns line up with the install spikes.

- Whether it will reach million-dollar scale like its parent company. Current volume is still small for this category, and new AI astrology apps (Reva at 7.7M in two months) are competing for the same users.
