25M installs, 1,677 reviews: a glucose app that "cannot measure blood sugar" climbed to #14 on the US health chart
What it is A free Android tool where you manually enter blood pressure and glucose readings, plot trend charts, and set medication reminders. It makes money from full-screen ads.
Why it took off The 2,300+ million installs built up by an older account were transferred to a new company name and inherited. Ads implying "measure blood pressure and blood sugar with your phone" then drove paid acquisition, and October's several days of 50,000–60,000 installs pushed it onto the US health chart.
DHow you could approach it Don't copy this. If you really want to enter the category, do the opposite: connect to blood pressure monitors, glucose meters and Health Connect, let users export to their doctor or share parents' readings with their children, charge through subscriptions instead of stuffing in ads. But your competition then becomes regulated players like OMRON and Samsung.

Blood Sugar Care: BP Monitor is a Google Play tool for manually logging blood pressure and blood sugar. Its store page says it went live in Aug 19, yet cumulative installs have already reached 25.4M. It is not a new product: a group of developers in Rajkot, India moved an old app that had been running for 2025 years to a newly registered company name, which reset the launch date. This autumn they added another round of paid acquisition that pushed it onto the US Health & Fitness free chart. Below, we explain where its traffic and money come from, who it competes with, and why you shouldn't copy it.
"It claims to be a blood pressure monitor, then after you install it, it says it isn't"
In Aug 2026 26, a US user named Melissa wrote on its store page: "Worthless. It calls itself a \"blood pressure monitor\", but after you download it, it says it's not really a blood pressure monitor." She went on to say that even if you accept that, you still have to get past a screen full of ads, "most of which are made to look like they are part of the app", so you get tricked again every time you tap one. 157 people found it helpful.
Three days later, another user left the most-upvoted review on the page (252 people found it helpful): stuck on the language selection screen at launch and couldn't get out, "right now is nothing but an ad-views-milking con". The Sep 26 review was blunter: "The ad claims to be able to take readings with your phone. It doesn't. Just clickbait." (90 people found it helpful)
The store description is telling. The body says "smart bp monitor", "accurate pulse app", "Check your heart beat anytime", "Easily sync with your glucose monitor", and only the last paragraph is the disclaimer: "This app does not measure or test blood pressure, blood sugar, or heart rate." Users came for "measures with your phone" and got a logbook plus a wall of ads.
Where the volume came from
The base is old. On Google Play its cumulative installs are 25,359,212, with +7 over the last 67,810 days (11-06). Third-party tracker AppstoreSpy started following it on Jun 23, when it was already at 23.6M. appdashboard records about 530 days of history, and APK sites have a version from May 2025 of year 1.5. So most of these 25M installs were accumulated before the August "launch".
The launch date was reset. Its developer website field still reads q7godev.in, and on Uptodown it is still listed under "Q7Go Developer". The name it now publishes under, PRK APPS LLP, is a company registered in Rajkot in Jun 10 (year 2026). On Play there is also a developer page called "PRK APPS LLP OLD" (since renamed Resolute Labs), with a description identical word for word to the PRK and q7godev.in text. The same group moved the app from the old account to the new company account, and the install count and store standing came with it, while the launch date became Aug 19.
The recent surge was bought. Since June it has averaged over 10,000 installs a day, with several spikes: Jul 10 to 12 averaged 42k a day, Oct 4 saw 65k in one day, and Oct 12 to 13 added about 150k over two days (AppstoreSpy estimate). appdashboard says +497k over the last 30 days, up 303% from the prior 30 days. In the same period it climbed the US Health & Fitness free chart from #21 in Oct (29) to #12 in Nov (4), #14 on Nov 6, charting in 25 countries in total. Which platform paid for it isn't visible in public ad libraries; the spike shape looks like batched Google app-campaign buying (inference). What the reviews above do confirm is that the creatives imply "measure with your phone".
The rating count is abnormally low. With 25.4M installs it has only 1,677 ratings, 1 vs 15,000. The category leader, Blood Pressure Tracker, has 97.3M installs and 406k ratings. Before August it has almost no rating history, and the earliest review we can see is from late August. Either misled users installed and uninstalled without rating, or ratings were cleared during the account transfer; from outside, the two can't be told apart.
Where the money comes from
The store page is marked "contains ads", with in-app purchases from $1.99 to $39.99, but it has never charted in any country's Top Grossing, so the money is mainly from ads. The negative reviews describe the standard playbook of Indian utility-app factories: a language picker at launch, interstitial ads, then native ads disguised as feature buttons to collect taps. The math is ad views per install minus the cost of buying that install; older health users in the US, Canada and UK have high ad CPMs, so the numbers can plausibly break even (inference; real payback is not visible from outside).
PRK's website calls itself a "small Android studio" and claims 100 apps and 1.2B downloads, but the product section lists only this one app, and on Play it has only one other app under its name, a call-blocker. The 1.2B downloads claim is unverified and looks more like a combined total across related accounts.
Who it's competing with
The category is already crowded, and even the name "Blood Sugar Care" has been taken up by several publishers in bulk (figures from Google Play, 11-06):
| Product | Launched | Scale | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Pressure Tracker | 2021-11 | 97.3M installs, 406k ratings | Category leader, same manual logging + ads |
| Health Tracker: BP Monitor App | 2023-06 | 29.5M, 7 days +158k | Same publisher also has two more apps with 20M+ installs |
| Blood Sugar - Diabetes App | 2022-06 | 25.5M, 7 days +208k | Blood-sugar only, 40× its ratings |
| BP Care - Pressure & Sugar | 2026-06 | 5.1M, 7 days +330k | New account, weekly new installs now 5× its |
| Blood Sugar Care - BP Monitor(Gruhinee) | 2026-06 | 3.12M, 7 days +62k | A near-identical name and package clone, also from the Gujarat area |
| Blood Sugar Care: BP Tracker(CabTech) | 2026-10 | 41k | Another same-name clone, just getting started |
| Samsung Health, Health Connect, OMRON connect, mySugr | Already established | System-level / device makers | Free or brand-backed, can connect real BP monitors and glucose meters |
It has no functional difference from the rest. It performs better than most new entrants because of inherited 23M installs, bold creatives, and sustained budget, and those are things its competitors also use.
If it were you
D: understand it, don't copy it. This is an ad arbitrage play by an app factory: it uses an old account's installs, creatives implying "measures with your phone", and paid acquisition. The product itself has nothing worth copying.
Who it fits: teams that already have an ad-monetization pipeline, a stock of developer accounts and old apps, and can calculate paid-acquisition payback by the day. For them this is just another category, and they've very likely already been doing it.
Who it doesn't fit: indie devs and small teams. You can't get the inherited 23M installs or store standing; the leaders are old accounts with tens of millions of installs, and newer accounts are spending five times as aggressively in the same period. Pulling users in with misleading creatives also risks removal under Play's health-claims policy.
How to do it: if you do enter this category, go the opposite way: connect Bluetooth BP monitors, glucose meters and Health Connect, export one-tap reports for doctors, let adult children check their parents' readings remotely, charge by subscription, and carry no ads. The one-star reviews ("installed it only to find it can't measure", "ads look like buttons") are exactly what this user group resents. But then your competitors become OMRON, Samsung and established chronic-care companies, a different business.
How to acquire users: the template playbook only works through Google app campaigns and ad networks buying US, Canada and UK traffic to climb the health free charts. A legitimate approach reaches users through BP-monitor manufacturer partnerships, pharmacies, family doctors, and adult children caring for parents, not the app-store ad auction.
When to get in: there is no real window. This playbook has run in this category for years, and what decides its fate is Google's review. If Google tightens its rules on "implied measurement" ads and store copy, this batch will be removed in bulk.
Signs you're reading it wrong: ① if it keeps adding installs steadily after it stops buying, and ratings don't fall, then there's real organic demand for a blood-pressure/glucose log, and a clean, ad-free version has a shot; ② if it or its peers start charting in Top Grossing and push subscriptions, these users will pay and the numbers are worth redoing; ③ conversely, if several same-name apps get pulled or stop updating within weeks, that's stronger evidence to stay away.

Channel: Google Play | Developer: PRK APPS LLP (Rajkot, Gujarat, India), predecessor account Q7Go Developer | Research date 2026-11-06
Bottom line
This is not a "new product takes off" story. It's a manual BP/blood-sugar logging tool from an Indian Rajkot "app factory" that has been on Play since around May 2025, and has accumulated over 2,500 million installs. Growth is paid: the creatives imply "measure blood pressure / blood sugar with your phone", and once installed, users are monetized with a screen full of ads, including ads disguised as app content. Its "2026-08-19" launch date is a result of account transfer (from Q7Go Developer to PRK APPS LLP, registered in 2026-06-10), which reset the date. The product itself has no differentiation.
1. Data (our database + third parties)
- Installs: cumulative 25,359,212, +67,810 over the last 7 days (googleplay library app_profile, 2026-11-06). Daily new installs run roughly 8k–28k, refreshed only every other day (app_snap).
- Since-launch curve (AppstoreSpy estimate, googleplay library app_day_ext): AppstoreSpy starts tracking on 2026-06-23, when it was already at 23,583,412. Over the roughly 4.5 months since, it added only about 1.78M more, averaging over 10,000 a day, with several buying spikes: 6-29 to 7-01 averaged over 30k a day, 7-10 to 12 averaged 42k, 10-04 one day 65k, 10-08 one day 60k, 10-12 to 13 about 150k over two days. appdashboard.app says "+497K over the last 30 days, up 303% from the prior 30 days" and claims about 530 days of history, meaning it existed by year 2025.
- Only 1,677 ratings (3.87 stars; 1-star 385, 5-star 1,085), against 25M installs, a ratio of 1 : 15,000 that is highly abnormal. appdashboard says "+1K ratings over the last 30 days", and our database shows +11 to +34 ratings a day over the last 8 days, so there were almost no ratings before August. The earliest review visible on the Play page is from around 2026-08-26, and the earliest review in our database is from 2026-08-21 (app.first_review).
- Charted: On the US store's Health & Fitness Top Free chart, it climbed from #21 on 10-29 to #12 on 11-04, and sits at #14 today. It's also charted at #42 in Canada and #44 in the UK, across 25 stores in total (chart_rank). It has never made any store's Top Grossing chart (best_grossing_rank is empty).
- Monetization: Flagged ad_supported=True, in-app purchases $1.99–$39.99. It has never charted on Top Grossing, so the money is mostly ads.
- Versions: 2.7, updated 2026-10-29. Uptodown lists 2.5 (2026-06-11) and 2.6 (2026-06-25); APK sites have 1.5 (2025-05-11). On Uptodown it's still filed under the developer "Q7Go Developer".
2. Who's behind it: an account transfer that reset the release date
- The developer website is still q7godev.in (store field developer_website, email [email protected]). The current Play page lists prkapps.com / [email protected] as support site and email, with an address at the Shilpan Onyx office building in Rajkot, Gujarat.
- PRK APPS LLP is an Indian LLP registered in 2026-06-10 (LLPIN ACZ-0323, Rajkot; listed on tracxn, filesure and olaw).
- Google Play still has a developer page called "PRK APPS LLP OLD" (dev id 6336632671448334192), now renamed "Resolute Labs", with a description identical to PRK's: "Creating smart, reliable, and innovative mobile applications for everyday life". The q7godev.in homepage uses the same line. In other words, the same group moved its apps from the old account to a newly registered company account, and the store release date reset to 2026-08-19.
- prkapps.com (updated 2026-10-29) calls itself a "small Android studio" and claims "100+ Applications, 1.2B+ Downloads, 700k+ Daily Accesses", yet its product list has only this one app. The 1.2B downloads figure is unverified and looks like a total across the whole group or several linked accounts.
3. Growth playbook: paid acquisition + exaggerated creatives + ad monetization
| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Paid performance ads (creatives imply the phone can measure blood pressure) | Top-rated US negative review, 2026-09-26 (90 found it helpful): "The ad claims to be able to take readings with your phone. It doesn't. Just clickbait."; another, 2026-08-26 (157 likes): it calls itself a "blood pressure monitor" and only admits after installing that it can't measure. | Confirmed ads are used; which platforms they run on is unverified |
| Google App Campaigns (inferred) | Installs come in pulses (60k to 70k a day), and it charts in 25 countries at once, with the US rank climbing steadily. The Meta ad library (searched by package and name) shows no ads pointing to this package; the Google ad library only covers a list of products and turned up nothing. | Unconfirmed |
| Facebook pages / Reels | A search turned up a Facebook post titled "Blood Sugar Care: BP Monitor" from about 1 years ago with 1.1K engagements, plus a "Glucose Blood Sugar Tracker" page that posted a "Try This App Free" short video 2026-06-28 times. Neither has been confirmed as this app. | Unconfirmed |
| Store search / ASO | Title and description are stuffed with keywords: blood pressure monitor, bp tracker, sugar tracker, pulse app, pill reminder, diabetes tracker... | Confirmed (the method); how much traffic it brings is unknown |
| Content / creators / X / Reddit | TikTok search for "blood sugar care app" returns nothing for it; x-radar shows 90 posts in 0 days; no Reddit discussion. | Confirmed none |
Where the money comes from: ad monetization. Reviews complain about "getting stuck on the language selection page", "screens full of ads, many designed to look like app buttons", and "an ad-views-milking con" (2026-08-29,252 likes). This is the standard playbook of Indian utility-app factories: language picker first → interstitial ads → native ads disguised as features. Buying installs across Tier-1/Tier-3 markets only pays if the per-install ad eCPM exceeds the acquisition cost. In-app purchases ($1.99–$39.99, ad removal / subscription) are a side income. It has never charted on Top Grossing, so IAP revenue is small.
Why the ratings are so low: There are two possible explanations and I can't tell them apart. (a) Most installs come from misleading creatives and low-intent users who install and uninstall without rating; (b) ratings were reset during the account transfer or re-listing (almost no ratings before August, with the earliest reviews in late August), unverified. Rating ratios are generally low for paid-acquisition apps, but 1:15,000 is rare: the Gruhinee app has 3.1M installs and 1,098 ratings, BP Care 5.1M / 3,875. The veteran Blood Pressure Tracker has 97M / 406K.
4. Competitors
This niche is already crowded, with plenty of same-name and same-style package apps (numbers from the googleplay library, 2026-11-06):
| Product | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Pressure Tracker (developer "QR Code Scanner.") | Android | 2021-11 | 97.3M installs, 406k ratings, +127k over 7 days | The category leader; same manual logging + ads, with real accumulated ratings |
| Health Tracker: BP Monitor App(HealthTracker Apps) | Android | 2023-06 | 29.5M installs, 53k ratings, +7k in 158 days | Veteran portfolio; the same developer also has BP Monitor and Blood Pressure & Sugar, both over 20 million installs |
| Blood Sugar - Diabetes App(QR Code Scanner.) | Android | 2022-06 | 25.5M installs, 68k ratings, +7k in 208 days | Blood sugar only, similar size, but 40× the ratings |
| BP Care - Pressure & Sugar(Brainy Lab Studio) | Android | 2026-06 | 5.1M, 7 days +330k | New account, growing 5× faster than it now |
| Blood Sugar Care - BP Monitor(Gruhinee Platforms,com.bp.blood.sugar.bloodtracker.app) | Android | 2026-06-11 | 3.12M, 7 days +62k | Near-identical name and package clone; the developer is also a Gujarat-area team with the domain infinitytoolsllc.com |
| Blood Sugar Care: BP Tracker(CabTech International) | Android | 2026-10-01 | 41k, just launched | Same-name clone with developer domain qtonzdev.in, sharing the naming style of q7godev.in; possibly the same circle |
| Other same-name apps: com.tas.bloodpressure.bloodsugar, com.vasu.bloodsugarcare, com.ai.life.manage.healthtracker (Blood Sugar Care & BP Monitor) | Android | Mixed | Not verified | The "Blood Sugar Care" name is being mass-produced |
| Samsung Health, Google Health Connect, Apple Health | Big-company features | Already established | Built into the system | Free, no ads, syncs real hardware |
| mySugr (Roche), Glucose Buddy, OMRON connect | iOS / Android | Already established | Each in the millions to tens of millions | Made by brands / hardware makers; medical-grade, works with glucometers and BP cuffs, and doesn't rely on misleading creatives |
5. Differentiation
No product differentiation. Features (manual BP / glucose / heart rate logging, pill reminders, charts) are identical to dozens of competitors, and the name collides with several others. The real difference is the playbook: (1) buying installs with misleading "measure with your phone" creatives, which get high CTR and cheap installs; (2) heavy ad monetization; (3) taking over an old app through a new company account, inheriting the store weight of 23M installs. That's how it reached #14 on the US health chart. But Brainy Lab, HealthTracker Apps and Gruhinee run the same playbook, so it's not exclusive.
6. Visibility
Barely anyone knows about it yet. No public revenue figures, 0 posts on X (x-radar, 90 days), no press coverage, and no Reddit or TikTok discussion. Only data sites like appdashboard, apptopia and similarweb index it automatically. But this niche has long been a public playbook in Indian, Vietnamese and Pakistani utility-app factories, and there are already many clones.
7. What to borrow
- Demand for "health measurement" searches and creatives is large, and the audience is older Tier-1 users (charting in the US, Canada and UK), so paid acquisition plus ad monetization can pencil out.
- An old app's installs and store weight can carry over through an account transfer (you don't have to start from zero, even after changing the company entity).
- The cautionary side: pulling users with misleading creatives ("measure blood pressure with your phone") draws top-rated negative reviews, and risks removal under Play's deceptive-behavior and health-claims policies. The disclaimer added to the end of the store description, "This app does not measure…", is there to guard against exactly that.
8. Still unclear
- Which platforms the paid acquisition runs on (Google UAC, Meta, or ad-network cross-promotion) isn't in our ad libraries.
- Only 1,677 ratings: is it low-quality users, or were ratings reset during the account transfer or re-listing?
- How the 23M installs piled up between 2025-05 and 2026-06 (AppstoreSpy only started tracking in June).
- Actual in-app purchase revenue, ad eCPM, and which accounts the prkapps "1.2B downloads" claim actually includes.
