30k people installed it and nobody rated it: an AI palm reader, a crowded paid-acquisition game
What it is A mobile app where you snap a photo of your palm and AI reads it for you, plus tarot, daily horoscopes, compatibility and daily fortune. Free, ad-supported.
Why it's taking off The developer, Nuclear Man, has a tens-of-millions-install hit behind him. He buys installs in cheap English-speaking markets like Singapore and India and climbed the category charts. The product itself is nearly identical to dozens of others.
CHow you could play it Don't make palm reading #28 in English. If you already run AdMob arbitrage, go after the local languages the competitors ignored (Burmese, Bengali, Hindi), or go low-ad and sell a one-time deep reading.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-10-23 · 11-07 installs 31,407
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
Hastgy, an AI palm reading app launched Oct 23, got 31k installs in two weeks and hit #31 on Singapore's free Lifestyle chart, yet its rating count stayed at 0. It isn't a hit. A seasoned small developer took a playbook that works for him, small utility + ads + paid installs, and moved it into one of the most crowded Google Play categories of 2026. Below: how it got going, where the money comes from, who's ahead, and whether you still have room.
An app nobody rates
On Nov 3, Hastgy's cumulative Google Play installs jumped from 11,950 to 24,143, adding 12k in a day. By 11-06 it was 31,407, up 25,364 over 7 days (Google Play installs, 10-29 to 11-06). The curve is stepped: a sharp jump in one day, then two or three flat days, then another jump. It looks more like ad budgets released in batches than word of mouth.
Meanwhile its rating section stayed empty, not a single review. 30k people installed it and not one came back to leave a star. The likeliest explanation: these users came in through ads, curious, tapped through the palm scan and left inferred. The developer may also simply not have triggered the rating prompt yet (unverified).
The charts tell the same story: it only charted on free Lifestyle charts, and only in English-speaking Asian markets where installs are cheap: 11-06 Singapore #31 (10-30 still #54), India #90, Malaysia #109, UAE #115, Thailand #183. Not the US, not the overall chart, and certainly not Top Grossing.
What it is
A "mystic bundle." The store page's first line reads "Every line on your palm has a story. What does yours say about today?", with a tone described as "calm, starlit."
- Palm reading: pick your left or right hand, light it well, spread your fingers, place your hand inside the outline and snap, or upload a photo. It reads the heart, head, life, career and sun lines.
- Life Guide: gives a score on a 10-point scale for six areas each day: love, family, marriage, career, wealth and health. You can flip through yesterday, today, tomorrow, this month and this year.
- Tarot: choose a theme (luck, finances, health, love, protection, career), draw a card, get a do and a don't.
- Daily horoscope and compatibility: Western zodiac signs, plus Chinese zodiac pairings.
All free. The page is labeled "Contains ads," with no in-app purchases. The money comes only from ads.
Where the money comes from: buy a user, earn it back with ads
For an ad-only app with no in-app purchases to grow, there's basically one road: buy installs, then earn them back through ad networks like AdMob. If the earnings exceed the spend, you keep buying. It's an arbitrage business, and palm reading suits it well: people in India and Southeast Asia are keen on fortune-telling and horoscopes, and users who tap in keep going step by step, with an ad slot at every step.
The developer, Nuclear Man, is no newcomer. He has four apps on Google Play:
| App | Launched | Installs (11-06) | Monetization |
|---|---|---|---|
| NestAI: AI Home, Room Planner | 2026-06 | 10.3M | IAP + ads |
| Snaptou: AI Photo Editor | Before June (store date was reset) | 920k | IAP + ads |
| Horae: Tarot & Daily Horoscope | 2026-10-12 | 146k | Ad-only |
| AI Palm Reading - Hastgy | 2026-10-23 | 31k | Ad-only |
A few details show how he works: the contact email is a personal Outlook address, the websites are all free netlify subdomains (hastgy.netlify.app, horae-tarot.netlify.app), and the privacy policy sits on Google Sites. Snaptou's website subdomain is literally ads-nuclear-man, meaning the landing page exists to take ad traffic. Snaptou's daily installs swing wildly, from a few hundred to 138k (AppstoreSpy estimate, 10-16 single day 138k), a classic campaign curve.
So Hastgy's approach is clear inferred, fairly confident: use NestAI, a tens-of-millions hit, to earn money, then spend it testing new themes. Mystic themes are split across two packages: 10-12 launched Horae tarot, and 11 days later Hastgy launched palm reading, with overlapping features. One package captures "tarot" searches and creatives, the other captures "palm." The package names are stuffed with keywords: ai, palmistry, palmreading, lifeguide, horoscope, all of them, and the description is written in 13 languages.
How much he spends on which channel is invisible from outside. No ads from him turned up in public ad libraries, which doesn't mean he isn't spending. No coverage or posts about the app exist online either: a search for "palm reading app" on X over the past ~30 days returned nothing.
Who's ahead: the same-day launch is 90x bigger
The real reality check is the competition. Since 2026 May, there have been 10 new Google Play apps with "palm" in the name or description that had reached 27k installs, totaling 29.2M installs, and in the last 7 days they added another 3.39M combined. October alone brought 7 of them. Hastgy captured roughly 0.7% of the increase over those 7 days.

| Life Palmistry / Palm Secret / Palmee | Long-established | 2016–2020 | 1,200–23M each |
The first row matters most. Kienmaly Mobi and Hastgy run the same play: pure ads, a palm package and a "palm + tarot" package launched the same day (10-12). But Kienmaly's scale is nearly 100x Hastgy's. The features are similar; the difference is budget and creatives. Hastgy's "calm starlit" tone, six daily scores and zodiac pairings are things competitors already have. They are neither Hastgy's differentiator nor the reason it grew.
Beyond that are free palm-reading websites like palmist.io, and people dropping palm photos straight into ChatGPT, with tutorials on Instagram.
What users say: they complain about the ads
Hastgy has no reviews of its own, but the top competitors do. Kienmaly's AI Palm Reading's most-liked review in the Singapore store (10-18, 250 likes) is a single line:
"Trash app... full of ads... didn't read anything... who made this thing 😑"
Its sister package's 1-star reviews in the India store say almost the same thing in different words: "Just installed, 4 ads in a row, before I even filled in my birthday, 2 more" (10-23); "Astrology❌ Adslogy✅" (10-30); "Everyone gets the same paragraph" (10-22); "Where's the soulmate sketch? Stop misleading people" (10-23, inferred: the ad promised a sketch of your future partner, and the app doesn't have one). A Myanmar user also complained: "Palm reading and horoscopes have no Burmese explanations" (10-27).
Yet this one's rating is 4.6 (1,282 ratings), and installs were still rising 1.57M a week. Bad reviews aren't stopping growth, because this business doesn't depend on retention or word of mouth. It depends on "how many ads one install can show."
If it were you
Verdict: C. You can learn a complete arbitrage playbook here, but following into palm reading itself isn't worth it. The category is already taken by a Vietnamese team with a big budget, and Hastgy, a late entrant two weeks in, got about 1% of the leader's installs.
Who it suits: small teams already running AdMob arbitrage, with working ad accounts and a creative pipeline, treating mysticism as one more test theme. Or people whose native language is a local one such as Burmese, Bengali, Hindi or Thai, who can write readings that sound like a real person talking.
Who it doesn't suit: indie developers who have never bought ads and hope for organic store traffic (Hastgy has a mature portfolio of ad campaigns and still only reached 30k). Anyone planning to differentiate on "more accurate AI" should note that users never complain about accuracy. They complain about too many ads and everyone seeing the same thing.
How to do it: don't make palm reading #28 in English. The two things worth betting on are the ones competitors got wrong. First, local languages: reviews show Burmese, Bengali and Hindi users complaining they can't understand the app, so rewrite the readings in native language, not machine translation. Second, fewer ads, with a one-time paid deep reading (for example, a full palm plus compatibility report), turning the most common complaint into the product inferred. Copying Hastgy's features is enough: snap the palm → read five lines → a daily fortune score that gives people a reason to come back.
How to get users: follow what this category does: Google App Campaigns and Meta for installs. Test creatives with a small budget in one low-cost market first, work out what one install costs and how much ad revenue one user generates, and scale only if the math works. Mine the bad reviews for creative angles: "not everyone gets the same paragraph," "reads in your language."
Deadline: this category launched 7 new packages in October alone, so every month you wait adds competitors. Ship within November, test through mid-December and work out the per-user payback. If the numbers don't work, stop. Don't cling to it.
Where this could be wrong: ① If Hastgy adds budget by late November and scales to hundreds of thousands of installs, then late entrants do have room, and this verdict is too conservative. ② Conversely, if Kienmaly's weekly growth has fallen from 1.57M to tens of thousands, the buying window for this round is closing. ③ If a local-language palm app (Burmese, Bengali) takes off in both ratings and installs at once, that gap is real, and you should move fast.

AI Palm Reading - Hastgy (com.ai.palmistry.palmreading.lifeguide.horoscope) research report
Research date: 2026-11-06 | Channel: Google Play | Developer: Nuclear Man
Bottom line
Hastgy hasn't really "broken out" yet. It's a late entrant in AI palm reading, a very crowded category: it has been live for 14 days with 31k installs, while the category leader (AI Palm Reading by Vietnamese team Kienmaly Mobi) went up 1.57M in 7 days. It gets noticed because the developer, Nuclear Man, has a mature playbook of "utility apps + ad monetization + paid acquisition" (NestAI at 10.3M installs), and this time they applied the same playbook to palm reading, tarot, and horoscopes. Growth is most likely driven by paid acquisition, aimed at small English-speaking Asian markets (Singapore, India, Malaysia, UAE, Thailand). The product itself is barely differentiated.
1. Data (source: googleplay library, 2026-10-29 ~ 11-06)
- Global cumulative installs: 6,043(10-29) → 11,950(10-31) → 24,143(11-03) → 26,996(11-05) → 31,407(11-06); 7-day gain 25,364. AppstoreSpy estimates daily gains at 1.4k–4.4k/day (app_day_ext).
- Ratings: at 31k installs it still had only 0 ratings (app_snap was empty every day). The same developer's Horae (146k installs) also has 0 ratings. Installs this large with almost no ratings suggests users came from ads and have low intent; the developer may also not be prompting for ratings yet (unverified).
- Monetization: the Play page says "Contains ads", offers_iap = False, meaning pure ad monetization with no in-app purchases.
- Charts: only on the LIFESTYLE free category chart, and only in small markets: best in Singapore at #31 (10-30 #54 → 11-06 #31), #90 in India, #109 in Malaysia, #115 in the UAE, #183 in Thailand, and it also briefly charted in the Philippines, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia. Never charted on the overall chart or the grossing chart.
- Version has stayed at 1.0.2, never updated.
2. Developer Nuclear Man (googleplay library developer table + web)
| App | Launch (store date) | Installs | 7-day gain | Monetization |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NestAI: AI Home, Room Planner | 2026-06-24 | 10,319,980 | 144,119 | IAP + ads, rating 2.6 (1,759 ratings) |
| Snaptou: AI Photo Editor | 2026-10-09 (actually live before June; AppstoreSpy showed 34k at 6-12, so the listing date was reset) | 919,787 | 79,063 | IAP + ads |
| Horae: Tarot & Daily Horoscope | 2026-10-12 | 146,166 | 85,879 | Ad-only |
| AI Palm Reading - Hastgy | 2026-10-23 | 31,407 | 25,364 | Ad-only |
- Signals: the contact email is a personal outlook address ([email protected]); websites use free Netlify subdomains (hastgy.netlify.app, horae-tarot.netlify.app, nestai-decor.netlify.app); the privacy policy is hosted on Google Sites. Snaptou's website subdomain is literally ads-nuclear-man.netlify.app, suggesting these landing pages exist purely for running ads. AppBrain says the developer has been "active since 2020" (search snippet; the page is blocked by Cloudflare, unverified). This looks like a small team or solo developer running an app portfolio.
- Two fortune-telling apps (Horae tarot launched 10-12, Hastgy palm reading launched 10-23) went live 11 days apart, and Hastgy itself includes tarot and horoscope features, so the features overlap. This is volume play within the same niche: using multiple packages to capture the palm / tarot / horoscope search terms and ad creatives.
- Snaptou's curve (AppstoreSpy estimate) is a classic paid-campaign curve: daily gains swing wildly between a few hundred and 138k, peaking at 10-16 with 138k in a single day.
3. Competitors (googleplay library, app_profile, 2026-11-06)
AI palm reading has been a hot "paid-campaign category" on Play for 2026 years. Apps launched since 2026-05 with palm in the name or description and over 10,000 installs number 27, totaling 29.2M installs, and gained 3.39M combined over the last 7 days. Hastgy accounts for only about 0.7% of that 7-day gain. 2026-10 alone has 7 such apps.

4. Growth tactics
- Paid acquisition (inferred, very likely): ① pure ad-monetized apps can only grow by buying installs and recouping through AdMob (an arbitrage model); ② 31k installs, 0 ratings; ③ charting only in cheap English-speaking markets such as Singapore, India, Malaysia, UAE, and Thailand, not the US; ④ the developer's landing page domain includes "ads"; ⑤ NestAI has a Facebook page running promo videos (facebook.com/61571575304555). Our Meta / Google / TikTok ad libraries return nothing for Nuclear Man (it isn't on our tracking list), so there is no direct evidence.
- Store search ASO: the package name packs in ai/palmistry/palmreading/lifeguide/horoscope, the title uses "AI Palm Reading" to target keywords, and the description covers 13 languages. Chart rankings may also bring in some organic installs.
- Content / influencers: x-radar shows 0 posts searching "palm reading app" in the last 30 days; web searches find no coverage or posts about Hastgy. The TikTok search API returned no results this time (unverified).
- Cross-promotion within the developer's portfolio: possibly sending traffic to their own apps from NestAI (tens of millions of installs) and Snaptou (unverified).
5. Why it's climbing (at its current scale)
- The category is proven for paid acquisition: palm and horoscope readings have strong demand in India and Southeast Asia, ad eCPM can cover acquisition costs, and the Vietnamese teams (Kienmaly, HoangSi, Amobear) have already proven the model.
- The developer has a mature playbook and cash flow: NestAI at 10.3M installs and Snaptou at 920k, enough money and experience to test several new niches at once.
- An all-in-one feature bundle: one app offers palm reading, Life Guide (daily 10-point scores for love, family, wealth, and health), tarot, horoscopes, and compatibility (including Chinese zodiac matching). That gives users a reason to come back every day and adds more ad placements.
6. Differentiation
- Product-wise: the design tone is "calm, starlit", the website lets you try a palm scan or spin a zodiac wheel right in the browser; Life Guide is a daily 6-dimension score; it supports both Western zodiac and Chinese zodiac compatibility; and it is available in 13 languages. Most competitors offer these too, so it's not a real differentiator.
- These features are also not why it grew: Kienmaly, launched at the same time, is nearly a hundred times its size. Ad budget and creatives determine scale; product differences matter little.
7. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: few people know about it yet. No media coverage, nobody on X or Reddit has mentioned it, and revenue is undisclosed (pure ad monetization makes it hard to disclose anyway).
- Copycat behavior: it isn't someone copying it; it's copying the category. The category is already crowded (at least 31 new packages with over 10,000 installs in 2026 years).
8. Takeaways
- The "AI utility + fortune-telling content + pure ads" arbitrage model; pushing for top charts in cheap English-speaking Asian markets; splitting one niche across multiple packages (palm / tarot) to spread bets; zero-cost sites built on Netlify and Google Sites.
- Use one hit product (NestAI) to earn money, then fund tests of new niches with it.
9. Uncertain
- Which channels were bought and how much was spent (the ad libraries show nothing for this developer).
- Retention and ARPU: only 0 ratings, and no review sample.
- Whether it will scale up budget like Kienmaly or stop once the test ends: watch the install curve over the next one to two weeks.
- The developer's country and team size: unverified.
