AI Palm Reading (Taqde) - Kienmaly Mobi · Kienmaly Mobi

# A palm-reading app hit 25M installs in 2.89 days: the product is a reskin, the real skill is paid acquisition

**What it is** A free palm-reading app: snap a photo of your palm and AI reads your lines, then you chat about love and marriage with an AI guide. It also bundles Vedic birth charts, tarot and daily horoscopes, and the screen is full of ads.

**Why it took off** The niche was proven by HoangSi's similar app at 13.7M installs. This one swapped in an Indian-styled skin and bought installs at scale in cheap-install markets across South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa, then relied on ads to pay back. It had no organic buzz at all.

**C** **How you could play it** Don't copy the ad arbitrage. Do the part it does badly: charge per answer to specific questions in South Asia, or localize into Bengali, Indonesian, Arabic and Burmese. Keep acquisition on small test budgets, creative first, then scale spend.

C grade: the playbook is clear and worth learning, but the niche is already flooded by a batch of Vietnamese app-matrix studios at the same time. It's a fight over ad budget and ad tuning, small teams have no edge, and packs like this have short lifespans. Few people know about this yet

On Oct 12, developer Kienmaly Mobi put two palm and astrology apps on Google Play on the same day. By Nov 6, the palm-focused one, AI Palm Reading (called Taqde inside the app), had 2.89M installs, and the other had 585k. It charges nothing, has no in-app purchases, pays back through ads inside the app, and its users were bought with paid ads. Someone proved this route three months earlier, and more than a dozen copycats have followed. Below: where its volume comes from, how the money comes back, and whether you can still get in.

### A 400k-view video, and a one-star review from a Burmese user

On the morning of Oct 17, day 5 after launch, a new Facebook account called "Takahashi Himari" posted a 37-second video titled "Uncover Your Destiny Now!" The caption reads: "Want to know where your life path leads? Daily horoscopes, personal palm readings, tarot, unlock your destiny today." The account uses a Japanese woman's name, but it pushes a palm app with a heavy Indian flavor. The video has 404k views and 2.3K interactions so far, and the comments are in Amharic, the language of Ethiopian users. (The video doesn't link to a landing page we can see, and it may be promoting a sister app launched the same day. We can't be sure.)

10 days later, in Oct 27, a Burmese user left a one-star review on Google Play: "Palm reading and astrology have no Burmese explanation, I wanted to ask about tarot, but I was buried in annoying ads and couldn't ask a single thing I wanted. I can't believe an app like this has 1M downloads."

On one side, a video that ran 400k views in Ethiopia. On the other, a Burmese user saying "1M downloads." This app's business sits between those two facts: buy installs in cheap countries, then earn back the cost through ads.

### What it is

Take a photo of your palm, or pick one from your camera roll. The app marks the lines on the image and gives a reading. You can then keep chatting with an AI guide called Agastya about love and marriage. It also comes with a full bundle: Vedic birth charts (North Indian, South Indian and Western styles, covering the ascendant, Rahu and Ketu), moon sign, single-card tarot, daily horoscope, and name compatibility. The store page's last line reads "for entertainment and self-reflection only."

The price is 0. The store listing says "contains ads" and there are no in-app purchases.

The name and persona are aimed squarely at South Asia: Taqde comes from Taqdeer (destiny) in Urdu and Hindi, and Agastya is a sage from Indian legend. Most palm packs from the same batch of Vietnamese studios reuse a Western zodiac skin. This one swapped in an Indian one.

### How the volume built up

| Date (Google Play installs) | Total installs | Score |
|---|---|---|
| 10-29 | 1.32M | – |
| 10-31 | 1.96M | 816 |
| 11-03 | 2.67M | 1,081 |
| 11-06 | 2.89M | 1,282 |

Over the 17 days from launch to 10-29, it averaged 78k a day. From 10-29 to 11-03, five days, it grew by 1.35M, averaging 270k a day. On 11-05 and 11-06 each added only about 110k, a clear slowdown.

The chart placements were all in the free lifestyle category. 10-29 #1 in the UAE, #2 in Singapore, #3 in the Philippines, Nigeria and Malaysia, #4 in Saudi Arabia, #5 in Thailand and South Africa, #6 in India. 10-30 Malaysia also reached #1. 11-06 It charted in 28 countries, its best being Singapore and #3 in the UAE, with Brazil, Mexico, Turkey and Argentina also in the top 10.

Two numbers suggest these users didn't find it on their own.

The first is the rating rate. 2.89M installs produced only 1,282 ratings, about 0.04%. HoangSi's similar palm pack, launched in July, had 13.7M installs for 2,709 ratings, the same order of magnitude. Users brought in by an ad delete the app if they're unhappy, and few leave a rating.

The second is the rating distribution. On the store page there are 11-06 5-star, 1,084 4-star, 98 1-star and 98 2-star reviews, and 3 and 0 are identical, with 4-star and 1-star exactly equal in count. Real users don't rate like this. Most 5-star reviews are a single word ("good", "nice", "very god"), and several reviews have people's names in the text field, as if the in-app rating prompt got tapped a few times. It most likely runs an in-app rating prompt that only pushes happy users to rate (inference).

Where the users come from:

- **Meta video ads, partly confirmed.** That's the opening video: a persona account, a new account, and a title that yells "unlock your destiny." The language of the comments matches the Amharic in the negative reviews. We haven't verified whether the landing page is this exact pack.

- **Google app ads, inferred.** Install counts jump in big steps every few days, the charting countries cluster in cheap-install markets like Nigeria, the Philippines, India, Thailand and South Africa, and there's zero organic buzz. Studios like this usually run Meta and Google together. No direct evidence.

- **Store search, a little.** The package name is a string of keywords (ai, palmreading, scanpalmistry, horoscope), and the description repeats "palm reading," "palmistry scan" and "hand reader." Once it climbed the category charts it picked up some organic installs.

- **Content and word of mouth, none.** Searching Taqde on TikTok turns up only a film and a song with the same name. Searching the name and developer on X over the last 30 days returns nothing, and there's no press coverage.

The reviews show who the users are: Bengali, Hindi, Telugu, Amharic, Tagalog, and Burmese users, with lots of "Bakwas," "faltu" and "fake hai." The core is South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa.

### Where the money comes from, and what users say

There is only one route: ads. Nearly every negative review complains about it: "an ad on every tap," "3 ads for 3 taps," "an ad at every step," at least 17 reviews. The other complaint is that the product doesn't work: "scanned for ages and nothing happened," "everyone gets the same paragraph." The developer replies to every negative review with the same message and leaves an Outlook email address.

This kind of app never expects users to stay. The math goes like this: one install is cheap in India or Nigeria. The user opens it a few times and sees a few interstitials and rewarded videos, and if ad revenue exceeds what you paid for the install, you profit. High-CPM countries like Singapore, the UAE and Saudi Arabia are also in the mix, presumably to raise average revenue per user (inference).

What an install costs and how much ad revenue each user generates aren't visible from outside. If growth falls off after 11-04, it could be budget being cut, or it could mean this traffic no longer pays back. We need a few more weeks to tell.

### Who's behind it

| The same developer's apps (Google Play, 11-06) | Launched | Total installs | 7 new in the last day |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Palm Reading (Taqde, this one) | 10-12 | 2.89M | 1.57M |
| Astrology: Palm Reader & Tarot | 10-12 | 585k | 317k |
| Zeva: Daily Tarot Card Reading | 9-23 | 588k | 92k |
| ReTore: File & Photo Recovery | 7-10 | 2.11M | – |

Four packs combined for 6.18M installs. Two nearly identical astrology and palm packs went live on the same day and were bought together. Whichever one ran better got more spend, and the palm one ended up five times bigger. The official site is a free netlify page where you can try the app's features directly. Another developer page has "ads" in its domain. A third-party stats site shows the account has been publishing apps for 2017 years. We couldn't find which country the team is in. Judging by the playbook, the peers and the charting countries, it's most likely a Vietnamese app-matrix studio (inference).

### Who it's competing with

It is itself a follower. Over the second half of this year, a batch of Vietnamese studios piled packs into this niche on Google Play:

| Product (Google Play, 11-06) | Developer | Launched | Total installs | 7 new in the last day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Palmistry - AI Palm Reader | HoangSi | 7-08 | 13.7M | 248k |
| AI Palmistry: Life Palm Reader | Amobear | May | 1.16M | – |
| Palmistry AI: Mystic Guide | Radiant Retail | 9-18 | 1.03M | 480k |
| Palmora | VN Atomax | 10-20 | 64k | – |
| AI Palm Reading - Hastgy | Nuclear Man | 10-23 | 31k | – |

HoangSi's pack has nearly the same package-name structure and launched in July. It's the forerunner of this path. Taqde came three months later, and its weekly new installs are now 6 times HoangSi's. In the ten days after it launched, five or six new packs appeared. Hastgy's naming ("AI Palm Reading - [foreign name]" plus a netlify site) is almost identical to Taqde's. Whether they copied it or the same group switched accounts, we don't know.

Three other groups are doing a different business. India's Astrotalk (115M installs), AstroSage (82M), Astro99 and Reva offer Vedic astrology and charge per minute for live astrologer consultations. That's the demand Taqde tries to tap with Agastya and the Vedic chart, but it doesn't sell consultations. Older palm apps like Palmee and Life Palmistry run subscriptions or in-app purchases. Palmee is on India's top-grossing chart, so it's genuinely earning from users. At the top sit ChatGPT and Gemini. Snap a palm photo and they'll also talk about it at length, so palm reading as a feature has no barrier to entry.

### Does the Indian-styled skin matter?

A little, but it isn't the main reason. The name, persona and Vedic chart may have lifted click-through rates on creative aimed at India, Bangladesh and the Middle East. But the features are about the same as a dozen competitors, no one in the reviews praises Agastya or the chart, and the complaints are all about ads and "it can't scan." It got to where it is because of three things: it picked a niche that had been shown three months earlier to pay back, it targeted markets where installs are cheap and people believe in this stuff, and it was willing to spend enough to buy 25M installs in 2.89 days.

### If it were you

**C. You can learn a full paid-acquisition matrix playbook, but copying it isn't worth it.** The niche is already flooded on Play by a batch of Vietnamese studios at once. It's a contest of ad budget, creative iteration and monetization tuning, and small teams have no edge. The product is so poorly reviewed, with 1-star reviews piling up, that packs like this usually last only a few months.

**Who it suits:** teams already building Google Play utility or entertainment apps in a matrix, with Meta and Google ad accounts on hand, who can calculate the cost of an install and the ad revenue per user, and who want to test palm reading as one more niche in the matrix.

**Who it doesn't suit:** indie developers who want to build a mystical-themed brand through the product (this audience doesn't care how good your product is), people who have never run ads and are relying on organic store traffic, and anyone unwilling to accept the trade-off of an ad on every step.

**How to do it:** don't copy it. Do the half it does badly. Many of its users are in South Asia and Southeast Asia, and the reviews complain "no Burmese," "everyone gets the same paragraph." Two paths to consider. One: charge for it in South Asia. Astrotalk sells "the answer to one specific question." The AI reads the palm and charges a few rupees per answer to a marriage or career question, with ads kept to a minimum. Two: change the language. Build a palm-and-astrology app localized into Bengali, Indonesian, Arabic and Burmese. We haven't seen anyone do this seriously (unverified; before starting, count the Play charts and Meta ad libraries in these countries).

**How to acquire users:** it's still paid acquisition, there's no other route in this category. Copy its creative: a persona account, a 37-second video, and a title that only talks about "your destiny," not features. First test 20 to 30 creatives in one country on a small budget. Scale spend only once the cost per install is below half of what one user brings in as revenue (inference).

**When to get in:** there's no holiday window, but this batch of packs is launching in a cluster, so the later you come in, the more crowded it gets. If you're going to test it, finish before year-end.

**What would show we got it wrong:** ① HoangSi's app and Taqde are still adding tens of thousands a day into December with ratings holding steady. That would mean the ad arbitrage pays better than it looks, and it's worth following seriously. ② Most of these palm packs stop updating, get delisted or flatline in January. The window has closed, and even they couldn't make the math work. ③ Google Play tightens its rating-prompt or app-open ad policies, or batch-removes packs like these. That ends this route outright.

Where users come from

- Inferred **Meta video ads (fake-name Page)** : a fake-name Page, 'Takahashi Himari' (a new account), posted promo videos for palm reading, tarot, and horoscopes on 10-17, with 402k views. The comments are from Ethiopian users, which matches the Amharic reviews in the app. The Page shows up when you search 'Kienmaly Mobi', but the landing package was not verified

- Inferred **Google UAC / ad network buys** : across two observations 3 days apart, installs jumped 640k and 710k. Charting markets cluster in low-CPI countries (ng, ph, in, th, za, sa, ae), with no organic buzz. The store listing shows ads and no IAP

- **Verified** **Same-day dual launch from one developer** : on the same day (10-12) they also published Astrology: Palm Reader & Tarot (585k installs, charting in 26 stores). There are also Zeva Tarot and ReTore, with 6.18M installs across the developer's catalog

- **Verified** **ASO keyword stuffing** : the package name and description are packed with terms like palm reading, palmistry scan, and horoscope

- Inferred **In-app rating prompts** : the rating histogram is [98,0,0,98,1084], an unusual distribution. Most 5-star reviews are a single word, and some people typed their names into the review box. The rating rate is only 0.044%

- Inferred **TikTok / X / media** : TikHub and x-radar turned up nothing relevant

## Why AI Palm Reading (Taqde, Kienmaly Mobi) broke out

Package com.ai.palmreading.scanpalmistry.horoscope, Google Play, Lifestyle, published 2026-10-12. Research date 2026-11-06.

### Bottom line

There's nothing new about this app. It's another 'AI palm reading' reskin from a Vietnamese tool-app studio, using heavy paid acquisition to pull cheap traffic from emerging markets and monetizing through ads (ads, no IAP). It hit 25M installs within 2.89 days of launch. This niche was already proven in summer 2026: HoangSi's Palmistry - AI Palm Reader launched in July and now has 13.7M installs. Kienmaly is the latest round of the same playbook, and it launched two apps on the same day. Its 'differentiation' comes down to two things: the India/South Asia packaging (Taqde comes from Taqdeer, meaning destiny; the AI guide is called Agastya, a nod to Vedic birth charts) and a conversational AI guide. What made it take off is the spend.

### 1. Data: how fast it grew

Source: googleplay library app_snap / app_day / chart_rank, 2026-10-29 to 11-06.

- Cumulative global installs: 10-29 1,317,843,10-31 1,955,737,11-03 2,667,247,11-06 2,889,593. 7 days, +1.57M new. At the peak from 10-30 to 11-03 it added roughly 320k–350k per day; over the last two days that fell to about 110k per day.

- From launch (10-12) to 10-29 took 17 days and 1.32M installs, about 78k per day on average. The first review appeared on 10-17 (app table first_review).

- Charts: at 10-29 it was charting in 38 store × chart combinations, all Lifestyle Top Free. UAE #1, Singapore #2, Philippines, Nigeria, Malaysia #3, Saudi Arabia #4, Thailand and South Africa #5, India #6. 10-30 Malaysia also climbed to #1. By 11-06 it had dropped to 34 combinations, with its best rank #3 (ae, sg). Its best overall chart rank was #71.

- Third-party confirmation: on Appfigures' Malta Lifestyle Top Free chart it ranked #2 (https://appfigures.com/top-apps/google-play/malta/lifestyle).

- Monetization: offers_iap = False, ad_supported = True (the store page shows 'Contains ads'), and no Top Grossing rank. Revenue can only come from ads.

- Rating: 4.6 stars from 1,282 ratings, only 0.044% of installs. The histogram is [98, 0, 0, 98, 1084]. The 2-star and 3-star counts are exactly equal to the 0,4-star and 1-star counts, a distribution that doesn't look organic. The same-niche HoangSi has 2,709 ratings for 13.7M installs (0.02%). A rating rate this low fits with a large pool of low-intent paid users.

### 2. Reviews: who the users are and whether they stay

Source: googleplay library review, 113 reviews, 10-17 to 10-31, all scraped from the sg English page.

- 46 reviews at 1 stars, 57 at 5 stars, almost nothing in between. At least 17 one-star reviews explicitly complain about ads: "on every click there is an ad", "3/3 ads", "full of ads". Plenty more say it can't detect the palm and feels generic and scammy: "palm not detected", "everytime show same paragraph for everyone".

- The review languages reveal where users are from: Bengali (বিজ্ঞাপন, ভাল), Hindi (बेकार है), Telugu, Amharic (Ethiopia), Tagalog (Philippines), and Burmese users ('doesn't provide explanations in Burmese'). The common 'Bakwas / faltu / fake hai' from Indian and Bangladeshi users also appears. The core audience is emerging markets in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

- 5-star reviews are mostly a single word ('good', 'nice'), and some people typed their own names into the review box ('vikashkumar', 'jhan mark', 'kyawminoO'). This is the typical look of users tapping by mistake on the in-app rating prompt, which suggests it is likely running in-app rating prompts to get satisfied users to rate, keeping the score at 4.6. This is an inference, not verified.

- Retention: no data. Judging from the negative reviews, the product experience is mediocre and the ad load is heavy. This kind of app's business model doesn't rely on long-term retention. It relies on 'first open + a few interstitial/rewarded ads' paying back per user.

### 3. Where users come from: growth tactics

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Meta (Facebook) video ads run through a fake-name Page | Searching for 'Kienmaly Mobi' turns up a Facebook Page called 'Takahashi Himari' (id 61590684152972, new account, category 'Digital creator'). On 10-17 (day 5 after launch) it posted a video, 'Uncover Your Destiny Now!', with the copy 'Get daily horoscopes, personalized palm readings & insightful tarot'. The video has 402k views and 2.3K engagements. The comments come from Ethiopian users, which matches the Amharic reviews in the app. A Page with a Japanese name promoting an Indian-style palm reading app is a classic 'fake-name Page' ad buy. No landing link was visible, so it can't be confirmed whether it promotes this app or the same developer's Astrology: Palm Reader & Tarot. | Partly confirmed |
| Google App Campaigns (UAC) / ad network buys | Across two observations 3 days apart, installs jumped 640k and 710k, and charting clusters in low-CPI emerging markets (ng, ph, in, th, za, sa, ae), with no organic content buzz at all. This is the standard playbook of Vietnamese tool-app studios: buy tier-3 traffic through Google UAC and Meta, monetize with AdMob or mediation, and profit from the spread. Our googleads library doesn't track it, so there is no direct evidence. | Inferred |
| Same developer, same-day dual launch | On the same day (10-12) the same developer also published horoscope.tarot.ai's Astrology: Palm Reader & Tarot (585k installs, 7k new in 317 days, charting in 26 stores). Zeva Tarot launched on 9-23 (588k), and ReTore file recovery launched on 7-10 (2.11M). Across the developer's library, installs total 6.18M. The apps very likely cross-promote each other, unverified. | Catalog confirmed, cross-promotion unverified |
| ASO / store search | The package name and title are stuffed with keywords (ai / palmreading / scanpalmistry / horoscope), and the description repeats palm reading, palmistry scan, and hand reader. Store traffic from chart position is a secondary source. | Partly confirmed |
| TikTok / X / media / creators | A TikHub search for 'Taqde' only returns the Taqdeer movie and songs. x-radar searches for 'Taqde' and 'Kienmaly' each returned 30 results within 0 days. No media coverage. | Confirmed none |
| Rating prompt | See section 2: the score distribution is unusual, and the 5-star reviews look like accidental taps. | Inferred |

### 4. Competitors: how crowded this niche is

Source: googleplay library app_profile, 11-06.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Palmistry - AI Palm Reader(HoangSi) | Android | 2026-07-08 | 13.7M installs, 7k new in 248 days, charting in 15 stores | Earlier player with an almost identical package structure (scanpalmistry). Kienmaly is the latecomer, now growing 6× as fast |
| Palmistry AI: Mystic Guide(Radiant Retail LLC) | Android | 2026-09-18 | 1.03M, 7k new in 480 days | Same paid-acquisition playbook, US shell company name |

| Astro99 / Reva / Astrotalk / AstroSage | Android (India) | 2017–2026 | 16M / 7.73M / 115M / 82M | Local Indian AI or live astrologers; live consultations are billed per minute. Taqde rides this demand with Vedic birth charts and Agastya-style elements |
| palmist.io, pandit.ai/palm-scanner, kundli.online | Web | — | Not verified | Free hand-reading on the web, grown through SEO |
| Upload a palm photo to ChatGPT / Gemini | Big-company features | — | — | A general multimodal model can do this, so the feature itself has no moat |
| Same-period clones: Palm Reader: Daily Horoscope (Smart mobile), palmlytic, Palm Reading: AI Palmistry (Lutech), AI Palm: Horoscope (EZLife), AI Astrology: Palm (VN Atomax), and more | Android | 2026-06 to 09 | 300k–1M each | Reskinned clones, mostly hosted on github.io / netlify / blogspot sites, with Vietnamese developers dominating |

### 5. Differentiation, and whether that's why it broke out

- On features, it's a "everything bundle": palm scan (detects palm lines on the phone), AI chat guide Agastya (reads answers aloud), Vedic birth charts (North Indian, South Indian, and Western styles), moon sign, 78 tarot cards, daily horoscope, numerology, and name matching. Supports 5 languages (site: taqde-specialist.netlify.app).

- On positioning, the name (Taqdeer), the persona (Agastya, an Indian sage), and Vedic astrology all target India, South Asia, and the Middle East: markets with very low CPI and strong demand for fortune-telling. Vietnamese reskins in the same niche mostly use Western zodiac packaging. This is its most visible point of difference.

- Bottom line: these differences may make the ad creatives convert somewhat better in South Asia and the Middle East, but they aren't the root cause. Competitors have nearly identical features, and reviews are full of "scan doesn't work, content is all the same." It works mainly because of ad budget plus an ad-monetization arbitrage model, and because HoangSi already validated the niche. Two things matter more than the product itself: the execution of "same-day double launches and matrix buying," and "picking a low-cost, high-demand market."

### 6. How many people know about it / copycats

- Visibility: almost no one knows about it. No press coverage, 0 posts on X, no organic content on TikTok, and no public revenue. It has only appeared on Appfigures charts and download sites like DroidShelf.

- Copycats: after it launched, a batch of similar new apps appeared between 10-14 and 10-23, with package names and website templates very close to the original: AI Palm Reading - Hastgy (Nuclear Man, 10-23, com.ai.palmistry.palmreading.lifeguide.horoscope, hastgy.netlify.app, 31K installs, #31 in Singapore Lifestyle); Palmora (VN Atomax, 10-2.06M); Faji (10-23, faji-ai.netlify.app); AI Palm Reader (PAO LABS, 10-15, netlify); Palm Reader: AI Palmistry Scan (Jade-Core, 10-16); AI Palm Reader (LeafMotion, 10-22). Hastgy's naming pattern ("AI Palm Reading - English name" plus a netlify site) is almost identical to Taqde's, so it may be copying it, or it may be another account run by the same team. Not verified. Nuclear Man also launched Horae: Tarot & Daily Horoscope on 10-12, the same day.

### 7. What others can learn

1. Find a niche that has already been validated (following HoangSi's 13M path), then swap in a cultural shell for each region (Indianized naming and Vedic content), choosing markets with low CPI and strong demand for fortune-telling.

2. Launch two or three similar apps on the same day, buy them together, and scale whichever one pays back.

3. Run video creatives through a Facebook Page with a fake persona; the creatives sell "your destiny," not "a tool."

4. Go heavy on ad monetization with free access and no paywall, lowering the conversion barrier in low-income markets; then use in-app rating prompts to keep the store rating above 4.5 and protect store conversion.

5. Build a landing site that turns the app's features into interactive demos (taqde-specialist.netlify.app), for app review approval and to build trust.

### 8. Still unclear

- Actual spend, ad revenue, and ROI: no data. Daily installs fell from the 300k range at 11-04 to 110k, which may mean buying has been scaled back. Keep watching.

- Which app the "Takahashi Himari" Facebook video actually promotes, and how many ads Meta's ad library shows running.

- Whether Hastgy / Nuclear Man and Kienmaly are the same team.

- Developer entity: AppBrain says it has been active since 2017, and the developer email is mobi.store99@outlook.com. Country not verified; based on the developer network, it's probably Vietnamese.

- Retention and DAU: no data.
