#48 on India's Top Paid chart with only 6,633 installs: what an AI video template app really looks like
What it is A white-label AI image and photo-to-video template app: pick a template, upload a photo or type a sentence, pay with credits and subscriptions, no sign-up required.
Why it looks hot It isn't, really. A small wave of paid acquisition in India, plus India's Photography Top Paid chart having only 85 apps and needing just a few in-app purchases to chart, makes it look like it's making money.
DHow you could approach it Don't chase this category. What's worth learning: use small-country category charts to test the paywall cheaply, go login-free to cut first-session drop-off, and when you see someone's rank, count how many apps are on the chart first.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-10-16 · 11-07 installs 6,633
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
Movora is one of a batch of white-label "AI image and photo-to-video" apps that flooded Google Play in mid-October. It sat at #48 on India's Photography Top Paid chart, with in-app purchases up to $199.99, which looks like good money. Look closer: that chart only has 85 apps, the app has only 6,633 installs worldwide, and daily new installs have fallen from over a thousand to the fifties. This piece explains why the signal is fake, who runs this playbook, and what you can take from it.
A review that says "good, but too expensive"
On Nov 2, a user named Aly Hachem left a comment on Movora's store page: "very good generate, but very expensive." That's the only written review visible on the page. There are 6 ratings in total, averaging 4.2 (Google Play India store page, 11-06).
The same day, the developer shipped version 1.0.11. The release notes don't mention generation quality at all; they're about payments: "Improved the subscription and offer pages, with clearer pricing, credits and benefits; buy buttons now show loading feedback; optimized paywall layout and purchase flow stability." From its 16 launch on 1.0.7 to this version, over two weeks saw four updates, nearly all to the paywall.
Users find it expensive, the developer keeps reworking the paywall. Put these two together and you have the whole story of this app.
What it is
The store listing says: pick a creative template, upload your photo or type a sentence describing what you want, and it generates an image or video, or makes a photo come alive. Generation costs credits, which can be bought one-off or through a Pro subscription. In-app prices run from $3.99 to $199.99 per item (Google Play, 11-06).
The only distinctive feature is "START WITHOUT A LOGIN": no email sign-up. The app assigns you an anonymous creator identity, and your history, credits and purchase records attach to it.
Beyond that, it's no different from the dozens of apps you'd find searching "AI photo to video" on Play.
What does #48 on Top Grossing actually earn
It has charted in only one place: India's Photography Top Paid category chart, where it stayed between #43 and #50 from Oct 29 through Nov 6 (Google Play charts). It never made any free chart or the overall chart.
The problem is the chart itself. As of Nov 6, India's Photography Top Paid chart had only 85 apps. The same chart in the US and Singapore is full at 200. The app ranked #44 ahead of it, Apertelle, launched only in Oct 20 and has 2,369 installs worldwide. In other words, in the lower half of this chart, a few dollars of purchases a day is enough to get on it (inferred).
The $199.99 figure is also just the top credit pack price. It doesn't show anyone is buying it.
Some people are paying: it stayed on the chart for 9 days, and reviews call it "expensive," which means users saw the paywall and some paid. But the scale is probably tens of dollars a day (estimate, unverified).
Where users came from: one traffic wave, then nothing
Cumulative global installs shown by Google Play:
| Date | Total installs | New installs over two days |
|---|---|---|
| 10-29 | 1,812 | – |
| 10-31 | 4,232 | +2,420 |
| 11-02 | 6,155 | +1,923 |
| 11-04 | 6,523 | +368 |
| 11-06 | 6,633 | +110 |
Third-party estimates of daily installs dropped like this: in early November, roughly 1,000 in a single day; on November 3 and 4, about 180 in a day; on November 5 and 6, about 55 in a day. It lost more than half every two days.
Searching "Movora AI" on TikTok turns up zero videos. On X, there were 0 mentions in nearly 30 days. No media coverage, no Reddit threads; the only pages that come up are auto-generated download-site pages like AppBrain and Softonic (11-06). It's ranked in India alone, doubled its installs over two days, then decayed fast. The most likely explanation is that the developer ran a small app-install ad campaign in India, stopped the money, and the volume stopped with it (inferred).
Another possible source is the name. The category leader is an app called Mivora, one letter off, with 8.4M installs, sitting at #1 on India's Photography Top Paid chart. How many people searched for Mivora and tapped Movora by mistake can't be seen from the outside (inferred, unverified).
Who built it: an assembly line for shipping apps in bulk
The developer listed in the store is streamflow, and the "About the developer" section reads STREAMFLOW AI TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, with an address in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong and phone +852. But the package prefix is com.alihantakaz, the privacy policy is hosted on alihantakaz.site, and that site's title carries a different name, "Berkehan Canat," with a placeholder page reading "iOS version coming soon." The support email is a third name: [email protected]. The company website streamflowai.store is an "enterprise AIGC SaaS" page built from a template, with every image from Unsplash.
The same developer account also has Photo Revival: AI Memories, launched on Sep 4. It does old-photo restoration plus "animate," has 9,460 installs, and has also only sat between #42 and #55 on India's Photography Top Paid chart, with a curve shaped like Movora's. There's also one called Novi, for which no data turned up.
Putting it together: a Hong Kong-registered company, using someone else's name for its accounts and domains, ships an AI template app every month or two, drops it into a market like India where the top-grossing chart is easy to crack, tests the paywall, and reworks the paywall page based on the data (inferred). This is a common low-cost trial-and-error approach in the going-global tools app scene. Movora is one product on an assembly line, not a bet someone put everything on.
Who it's competing with
Nearly everyone.
| Competitors | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | Compared with Movora |
|---|---|---|
| Mivora AI-Video & Image Maker | 8.4M installs, #1 on India's Photography Top Paid | The one-letter-off namesake |
| PixVerse / Hailuo AI (MiniMax) | 80M / 28M installs | First-party vendors with their own models. Movora just wraps someone else's API |
| Dreamina (ByteDance) | 6M installs | First-party product from a big tech company |
| Picsart, Remini, InShot | Hundreds of millions of installs | AI images and video are already built-in features |
| Mistmere | 230k installs, #1 on Mexico's Photography Top Free chart | Launched the same day as Movora (10-16), scaling through the free chart |
| LumaSprig / FrameBloom / AsterLoop / MoriFrame | 77k / 65k / 35k / 24k | Another batch of white-label clones launched the same week, spread across 14 to 27 countries, with 5 to 10 times Movora's volume |
| Velora: AI Photo & Video | 10k+ | Almost word-for-word identical listings. Searching "movora" on Google surfaces its store link |
In mid-October alone, at least 6 white-label clones of this type were launched. Even so, Movora didn't rank among them: Mistmere, launched the same day, had 35 times its installs.
If it were you
Verdict: Don't follow. Movora didn't break out. It looks like it's making money only because the bar for a small-category top-grossing chart in India is very low. The "AI photo-to-video template" category has a first-party model from a big tech company on top, Mivora with 8.4M installs in the middle, and weekly batches of white-label clones below. An independent developer has no place to stand.
Who it suits: Overseas-expansion teams that already have a pipeline for "many accounts, bulk launches, small-budget paywall tests." For them it's just another template, nearly zero cost, and trial and error is the whole playbook.
Who it doesn't suit: Indie developers and small teams who want their own product to last. There's nothing to differentiate on (anyone can add login-free), no organic traffic (TikTok and X both show 0), and the volume is bought, so it stops when the spend stops.
Three things worth learning:
- Small-country category charts can be a cheap test of whether people pay. India's Photography Top Paid chart has only 85 apps, and a few purchases get you on it, so it's a cheap way to check whether a paywall works. The reverse also holds: when you look at someone else's app, don't treat rank on a chart like this as evidence of revenue. First check how many apps were on the chart that day and how many installs the neighbors had.
- Login-free, anonymous identity reduces drop-off before the first generation. Any AI generation app should borrow this.
- In the first few weeks after launch, fix the paywall first, not features. Movora shipped four versions in just over two weeks, all on the paywall. That order is right, but it had nothing worth paying for in front of the paywall.
If you still want to build in this category: Skip the generic templates. Pick one concrete scene and one concrete audience, and make it something people will want to film and share on TikTok, such as a template for a specific country's wedding or holiday, or old-photo restoration like Photo Revival's, meant to be shown to grandparents. Test acquisition with short-video content first, and don't start by buying ads.
When is it too late:There's no window left. This category was already saturated by October of 2026, so being a day early or late makes little difference.
What would show I'm wrong:① Movora's daily new installs climb back above 500 per day before end of November, or it charts outside India, which would mean it found a channel that lasts; ② the number of apps on India's Photography Top Grossing chart rises to 200 and it stays in the top 50, which would mean the payments are real; ③ TikTok videos about it appear with 100k views, which would mean one of its templates has organic spread, worth pulling apart to see which one.

Movora: AI Photo & Video (com.alihantakaz.movora) research report
Channel: Google Play. Developer display name streamflow; the store's "About the developer" lists STREAMFLOW AI TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (Tuen Mun, Hong Kong address, +852 phone). First launched 2026-10-16. Research date 2026-11-06.
Bottom line
It didn't actually take off. It's one of the white-label "AI image / photo-to-video template" apps that flooded Google Play in mid-October of 2026. Worldwide it has only 6,633 installs, and daily growth has fallen from over 1,000 a day to about 55. The "#48 on India's Photography Top Grossing" that drew me in means little: that chart had only 85 apps that day, and the apps at #44 and #48 were new apps with only two to seven thousand installs, which a few in-app purchases could push onto the chart. $199.99 is just the most expensive credit pack, not proof anyone is buying at that price.
1. Data (googleplay library, 2026-10-29 to 11-06)
| Date | Cumulative global installs | Increase since last observation |
|---|---|---|
| 10-29 | 1,812 | – |
| 10-31 | 4,232 | +2,420 |
| 11-02 | 6,155 | +1,923 |
| 11-04 | 6,523 | +368 |
| 11-06 | 6,633 | +110 |
- Daily installs estimated by AppstoreSpy (app_day_ext): 10-31 about 2,420/day (a catch-up figure), 11-01–02 about 962/day, 11-03–04 about 184/day, 11-05–06 about 55/day. It drops by roughly half to two-thirds every two days, which looks like a paid push or a "new app" traffic boost running out, not organic growth.
- Charts (chart_rank): it has charted in only one list, India's Photography Top Grossing, between #10-29 and #11-06 over 43–50. It has never charted on a free chart or the overall chart.
- Chart threshold: 11-06 India's Photography Top Grossing had only 85 apps (storefronts like the US and Singapore were full at 200). The apps around it, #44 Apertelle (BaoTeng, listed 10-20, 2,369 installs), #22 LumaSprig (77k), #51 FrameBloom (65k), #60 AsterLoop (35k), were all small apps listed only in mid-October. So holding #48 may take only a few dollars of purchases a day.
- Ratings: the library's ratings field is empty; the store page (gl=in) shows 4.2 stars / 6 reviews. The one review I could see reads "very good generate, but very expensive" (11-02).
- In-app purchases: $3.99–$199.99 per item (app_snap). Versions went from 1.0.7 (10-16) to 1.0.11 (11-02), and every release note is about the paywall: "Improved subscription and offer screens with clearer pricing… Refined paywall layout and purchase flow reliability". The developer is mainly tuning paywall conversion now.
- The detail page opens in the US (detail_cc=us), but it only ranks in India, n_countries_now=1.
2. Who the developer is
- Package prefix
com.alihantakaz, privacy policy hosted at alihantakaz.site. That site is titled "Berkehan Canat: AI Image-to-Video iOS App" and is a one-page "Coming Soon to iOS" placeholder (https://www.alihantakaz.site/). - 3 apps under the same account: Movora, Photo Revival: AI Memories (com.alihantakaz.photorevival, listed 2026-09-04, 9,460 installs, 7 days +4,444, also charted on India's Photography Top Grossing at #42–55), and Novi (com.streamflow.novi, not in the library).
- The contact emails are scattered: Movora uses [email protected], Photo Revival uses [email protected], and the company email is [email protected]. streamflowai.store is a "enterprise AIGC SaaS" site built from a template (StreamWriter Pro, $29/month and similar, all images from Unsplash). It also has a developer page on Apple, streamflowai (id1883446845).
- Judgment (unverified): this is a developer account registered by a Hong Kong shell company, with package names and domains using another person's name. It looks like a bought or borrowed account used to mass-publish AI template apps. This playbook is common among Chinese teams going global with tool apps.
- iOS: searching by name and developer in the appstore library and iTunes search found neither Movora nor Photo Revival.
3. Competitors
There are many apps launched at the same time with the same pitch. This is a category that is already saturated.
| Competitors | Platform | Launched | Scale (googleplay library, 11-06) | How it differs from Movora |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mivora AI-Video & Image Maker(CamSoft AI Magic) | Android | 2026-02 | 8.4M installs, #1 Photography Top Grossing in India | Its name is one letter off and it has already reached the head of the market. Movora may be riding its name (unverified) |
| PixVerse / Hailuo AI(MiniMax) | Android/iOS | 2024–25 | 80M / 28M installs, #10 / #9 Top Grossing in India | A vendor with its own models. Movora only wraps an interface on top |
| Picsart, Remini, InShot, Lightroom | Android/iOS | Early on | Hundreds of millions of installs | Big companies have made AI image and video into existing features |
| LumaSprig / FrameBloom / AsterLoop / MoriFrame (PIZZA DI LUNA, muhammed waris, all using [email protected]) | Android | 2026-10-14~16 | 77k / 65k / 35k / 24k installs, spread across 14–27 countries | A white-label cluster launched the same week, spread wider than Movora and 5–10 times the volume |
| Velora: AI Photo & Video(PIZZA DI LUNA, LLC) | Android | 2026-10 | 10k+ downloads (store page) | Nearly identical description ("Start with a photo, explore a template, or describe what you want to create"). Searching "movora" on Google surfaces it (store links with utm_term=movora) |
| Mistmere(Funkedenic) | Android | 2026-10-16 | 230k, #1 Photography Free in Mexico | Launched the same day and scaled through the free charts |
| Dreamina (ByteDance) | Android/iOS | 2026-06 | 6M | First-party product from a big tech company |
| Photo Revival (same developer) | Android | 2026-09-04 | 9,460 | Their previous app: old photo restoration plus animation |
The only visible difference in Movora is the description's "START WITHOUT A LOGIN": no sign-up, you get an anonymous creator identity. That's fairly ordinary, and I didn't see it driving volume.
4. Growth tactics
| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Paid acquisition (most likely Google App ads targeting India) | Ranks only in India, installs double in two days then decay immediately, no social buzz at all. The same developer's Photo Revival has the same single-country shape | No, inferred |
| Store search / new-app traffic | Mirror sites like AppBrain, Softonic, FileHippo and chrome-stats index it automatically. The name is very close to the head products Mivora and Movira, so it may be catching misspelled searches | No |
| TikTok | TikHub search for "Movora AI": 0 results | Checked, none |
| X | x-radar search for "Movora", 0 results in the last 30 days | Checked, none |
| Press / Reddit / PH | Jina search only turns up download-site pages | Checked, none |
5. How many people have seen it
Almost nobody knows about it: 0 mentions on X and TikTok, no press coverage, no public revenue, only auto-generated pages on download sites. But this category is crowded as hell, with at least 6 similar white-label Apps listed in mid-October alone.
6. Why it got pulled in
- It was pulled in on "small installs + charted Top Grossing + high-priced in-app purchases." All three can be explained as illusions: the absolute install count is tiny; India's Photography Top Grossing chart has only 85 apps, so the bar to chart is low; and $199.99 is just the top tier of a credit pack.
- The only real signal: it does have people paying in India, charting continuously for 9 days. Reviews also say "expensive," which means users are seeing the paywall. But the scale is probably only a few dozen dollars a day (unverified).
7. Takeaways
- Playbook template: a Hong Kong shell company plus multiple developer accounts, shipping one AI template App every 1–2 months (Photo Revival first, then Movora), running the paywall in markets like India where the Top Grossing bar is low, and iterating on the paywall page as you go. It's a low-cost trial-and-error pipeline.
- India's category Top Grossing chart can serve as a cheap test of "is anyone paying": a few purchases can get you charted. Conversely, it shows that this kind of chart can't be used as evidence of revenue.
- No login, anonymous identity, which reduces drop-off before the first generation.
8. Uncertain
- Whether and how much it spends on ads: the Meta / TikTok / Google ad libraries only track products on the list, so not finding it there doesn't mean it isn't advertising.
- Exact revenue; whether payments are mainly subscriptions or credit packs.
- What the relationship is between STREAMFLOW AI TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, "Alihan Takaz," "Berkehan Canat," and "Eva Woods"; and whether it shares the same upstream template as the cling-ai matrix.
- The situation with Novi (com.streamflow.novi).
