The store says "permanent SFW," but the website's first screen is 18+: How AsterLoop squeezed into the France photography Top Grossing chart
What it is The store describes it as an AI tool that turns photos into short videos, and even writes "permanent SFW." In reality, the support email and website both belong to an adult AI generation site called Cling AI.
Why it's taking off The backend is an adult website that has been taking payments on the web for a long time, so willingness to pay is strong. Then borrowed developer accounts are used to spread 4 reskinned shells, with attribution concentrated for paid acquisition. That's why installs rose sevenfold in 11-01 and 11-02 two days, and why it can chart on Top Grossing even with few installs.
EHow you could follow it Don't. What you could take is only the structure: validate the paid template on the web first, then package it into several clean store versions by country, and use attribution-tracked paid acquisition to target small-country photography Top Grossing charts. But that path is already crowded with rivals like PixVerse and Hailuo, which have tens of millions of installs.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-10-15 · 11-07 installs 35,047
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
AsterLoop: AI Photo Motion has been live for three weeks, with 35k installs on Google Play and not a single rating. Yet it has steadily held around #32 on the France photography category Top Grossing chart. It isn't a hit made by an independent developer. It's one of four Play shells for the adult AI generation site Cling AI: one backend, two developer accounts, four names. Below: how it collects money, where the traffic comes from, and why this is something you can only watch, not copy.
A Pakistani phone number, a Wyoming LLC
On 2026 Oct 15, the developer account "muhammed waris" published AsterLoop on Google Play. The same account also has a Document Inspector (a document scanning tool), which has nothing to do with AI video. The "About the developer" section at the bottom of the store page lists a different name: Hashrate Horizon, LLC, at 30 N Gould St in Sheridan, Wyoming. That address belongs to a registered agent service where thousands of shell LLCs are registered. The contact phone number is a Pakistani number starting with +92, and the email is a personal Gmail address (Play store page, 11-06).
The store description reads like a tidy, standard listing:
Bring your photos to life with AsterLoop. … A fit for portraits, travel shots, pets and everyday memories.
Further down is a dedicated statement: "SAFE FOR WORK. AsterLoop keeps a permanent SFW policy. Adult, sexual or otherwise sensitive content is not allowed in prompts or uploads." The content rating is Teen.
But the support email listed under "App support" on the same page is [email protected], and the website is asterloop.proeai.com. 11-06 When you open this website, the page title is "Cling AI — Age Verification," and the first line reads "This website contains adult content and is intended for adults only." After clicking "Accept," you reach the video template list. The first dozen or so templates at the top are all sexual actions, one is called "Undress," and 117 more follow.
The store says "permanently not adult," but clicking through the website lands you on an adult site. This is the main reason the app can make money.
The numbers: barely moved for the first two weeks, then up sevenfold in two days
| Date | Cumulative installs (Google Play) | Added that day |
|---|---|---|
| 10-29 | 3,206 | – |
| 10-31 | 3,206 | 0 |
| 11-01 | 8,495 | +5,289 |
| 11-02 | 24,834 | +16,339 |
| 11-03 | 30,139 | +5,305 |
| 11-06 | 35,047 | +2,583 |
For over two weeks after launch, installs stayed stuck around three thousand. Then on 11-01 and 11-02, they suddenly jumped by more than twenty thousand, and afterward fell back to two or three thousand a day. This shape doesn't look like organic word of mouth. It looks more like someone concentrated a sum of money into those two days (inference). Play install counts refresh in batches, so don't take single-day figures too seriously; look at the shape.
Three weeks after launch, the rating count has stayed at 0, and there isn't a single review. 35k people installed it, and not one left a rating. Apps that grow organically rarely look like this.
The Top Grossing charts are more telling. On 11-06, AsterLoop ranked #32 on France's photography Top Grossing chart, #39 in Indonesia, #47 in Mexico, #53 in the UK, and #60 in India (Google Play category chart, 11-06). On the France chart it has stayed between #32 and #34 since 10-31. Right next to it at #33 is LumaSprig, also one of its own apps. By the position on France's photography Top Grossing chart, daily revenue is roughly a few hundred dollars (estimate). Getting that figure from 35k installs means the paying rate per install is far higher than comparable apps.
It's actually four apps
Searching Play with the support email [email protected] turns up four packages. The store descriptions are nearly word-for-word identical, in-app purchases are each $1.99 to $99.99, the version numbers are all 1.0.0, and all were published over the three days of October 14 to 16:
| App | Developer account | Launched | 11-06 installs | 7 new in the last day | Best chart placements |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LumaSprig: AI Photo Motion | PIZZA DI LUNA, LLC | 10-16 | 77,100 | 59,744 | Photography Top Grossing, #22 in India |
| FrameBloom: AI Photo Stories | muhammed waris | 10-15 | 64,672 | 46,885 | Photography Top Grossing, #38 in Indonesia |
| AsterLoop: AI Photo Motion | muhammed waris | 10-15 | 35,047 | 31,841 | Photography Top Grossing, #32 in France |
| MoriFrame: AI Photo Motion | muhammed waris | 10-14 | 24,392 | 10,259 | Photography Top Free, #113 in Turkey |
The four together have roughly 200k installs, with nearly 150k new in one week. Several packages jumped on the same day: 10-31 FrameBloom and LumaSprig each gained more than twenty thousand; 11-02 AsterLoop, FrameBloom, and LumaSprig all gained one to three thousand at once. This suggests the same ad account raised budgets for several packages on the same day (inference). Two accounts, one under a pizza shop name and one with a document tool and a Pakistani phone number, look like purchased or borrowed developer accounts (inference). If one account gets banned, the remaining ones can keep collecting money.
Where the money comes from: the web version already worked
Cling AI itself is a browser-based adult AI tool site that turns photos into videos, generates images, swaps outfits, and swaps faces. Its name differs from Kuaishou's Kling by only one letter, and searching "cling ai" mostly returns Kling content. The site's pricing is VIP $59.99 per year, "first month 2X," and its terms of service were 10-03 recently updated, requiring users to be 18 or older (cling-ai.com, 11-06).
So AsterLoop didn't need to validate anything from scratch. The template library, diamond-based billing, VIP, and users willing to pay all already existed on the web. The Play package is just one more entry point for this backend, one that collects payment through Google Play and can run install ads.
Its privacy policy states that it integrates Adjust to "attribute installs," and sends back events such as registration, starting generation, starting payment, and successful payment along with amounts. It processes advertising identifiers for "advertising-source attribution" (asterloop.proeai.com/privacypolicy.html). Only apps buying user acquisition and adjusting budgets by payback rate typically need to send back paid events like this. What the app can actually generate was not verified by installing it. Having the official site and support both point to Cling, then using server-side switches to unlock more content later or redirect users to the web, is a common approach for these shells (inference).
Where users come from: only paid acquisition is visible
- Paid acquisition: The privacy policy says attribution is integrated, several packages scaled up on the same day, and 35k installs with zero ratings all point to paid acquisition. Which channels it runs on, Google, Meta, or elsewhere, doesn't match any advertiser in the public ad transparency pages, so it may run through agency accounts (unverified).
- Multiple packages holding chart spots: All four packages use clean generic names like "AI Photo Motion" and "AI Photo Stories" to sit in the photography category. On the France chart, AsterLoop and LumaSprig occupy 32 and 33 respectively, so one party holds two spots.
- Traffic from the parent site: The Cling AI website has Discord, sign-up credits, and a number of landing pages riding on terms like "undress" and "X alternative." Existing web users being directed to pay inside the app could explain why it gets few installs but high revenue (inference).
- Content spread: none. Searching TikTok for asterloop or cling ai app returns no related videos, and X has had zero discussion in the past two months.
Who it's competing with
| Name | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| PixVerse | 79.6M installs, #3 on France photography Top Grossing | Proprietary model, growth driven by TikTok effect templates |
| Kling AI (Kuaishou) | 34.8M installs | Big-company proprietary model; Cling borrowed its name |
| Hailuo AI(MiniMax) | 27.8M installs, #6 on France photography Top Grossing | Big-company proprietary model, clean content |
| AI Video(HubX) | 15.7M installs, #14 on US photography Top Grossing | Also calls a model API and buys ads, but single-brand, at two orders of magnitude more volume |
| Shots / Dance AI(DeePix) | 2.55M / 1.33M installs, #23 / #29 on France photography Top Grossing | Similar template-style photo animation, ranked ahead of AsterLoop |
| Google Photos, Adobe Firefly animation | Built into the system | Free, but without this many meme templates |
Functionally, AsterLoop has nothing that others don't. Story Mode, which strings one character into a multi-scene story, is a small selling point, but PixVerse and Kling have similar features. Its only difference is that behind it is an unguarded adult site, in front is a Play shell labeled SFW, and four are launched at once.
Only the structure is worth learning
Validate the templates and pricing on the web first, then package the same backend into several differently named store apps under different developer accounts. Connect attribution, send back paid events, and raise budgets by payback rate. Take placements on photography Top Grossing charts in lower-barrier countries like France, Indonesia, and Mexico. This structure itself is neutral, and plenty of legitimate tool makers do the same.
But AsterLoop collected money from the top 35 in France within three weeks by relying on exactly the part you can't copy: non-consensual undressing and face-swapping content like "Undress," which Google Play policy explicitly prohibits and which is illegal in many countries. Its store says "permanent SFW" while the website is an adult site one click away, which is gaming the review process. The Wyoming shell company, the Pakistani phone number, and the pizza shop account were all arranged so the money could keep flowing even after a ban.
If it were you
One-line verdict: Don't follow it. This isn't a product opportunity; it's regulatory arbitrage, and every dollar it earns depends on the review process not catching it yet.
Who it suits: Nobody. Even if you already make adult content, using an SFW-labeled store shell to host non-consensual templates carries platform and legal risks far larger than the return.
Who it doesn't suit: Every indie developer or small team that wants to build products long term, keep their developer account, and avoid having payouts frozen.
If you really want to take something from this: Take the structure, not the content. Build a clean photo-animation template app (hugs, dancing, reviving old photos, pets talking), validate which templates people pay for on the web first, then package two or three store versions by country and language, connect attribution, and target photography Top Grossing charts in France, Indonesia, Mexico, and Turkey. Acquire users through legitimate paid ads and short-video templates. Be clear-eyed, though: that clean path is already held by rivals like PixVerse, Hailuo, and HubX with tens of millions of installs, and none of AsterLoop's money-making factors apply to you.
Before what window?: There is no window to rush. Shells like this typically last only weeks (inference).
What would mean I misread it: If in three months AsterLoop and its three siblings are still listed and still on the charts, and installing the app confirms it really only has clean content, then it's just an ordinary template app that benefits from old adult-site users, and its ad and multi-package approach is worth revisiting. If all four packages disappear within a few weeks, that confirms this path never worked in the first place.

- Inferred Paid acquisition (attribution via Adjust): the privacy policy says Adjust handles install attribution, sending registration, generation, payment-start and payment-success events and revenue, and processing advertising identifiers (asterloop.proeai.com/privacypolicy.html). Installs for the 4 packages jumped together on 10-31 and 11-02; 35k installs with zero ratings. googleads / tiktokads (Europe) / metaads show no matching advertiser, possibly due to agency accounts or UAC.
- Confirmed Shell-app matrix + multiple developer accounts: in the googleplay database, 4 packages (asterloop / framebloom / lumasprig / moriframe) all use the support email cling-ai.com and websites under *.proeai.com, with identical template descriptions and IAP ranges. They were listed between 10-14 and 10-16, split across the accounts muhammed waris and PIZZA DI LUNA, LLC.
- Inferred Name borrowing (Cling ≈ Kling): the parent brand Cling AI is one letter off from Kuaishou's Kling AI, and Exa search results mix the two for "ClingAI". The Play shell apps themselves don't use this name.
- Inferred TikTok / X / creator content: TikHub searches for asterloop, lumasprig, framebloom and "cling ai app" returned no related videos; x-radar shows 60 posts in the last 0 days.
Why AsterLoop: AI Photo Motion (com.asterloop.studio) is charting
Research date 2026-11-06. Data from the googleplay database (agent-im server DuckDB, from 2026-10-29), ad libraries (googleads / tiktokads / metaads), the adwatch list, plus Jina / Exa / TikHub / x-radar searches.
Bottom line
AsterLoop is not a standalone product. It is one of four "shell packages" that the website Cling AI (cling-ai.com) runs on Google Play. The four packages share the same code, support email, and website template, and were listed within 2026-10-14 to 16 days of each other. They are split across two developer accounts (muhammed waris: 3, PIZZA DI LUNA, LLC: 1). The four packages' installs spiked on the same days, and all integrate Adjust for install attribution and payment postbacks. So this is a paid acquisition plus shell-app matrix play, not organic discovery of the product. On the product side it's a common "animate your photo + image generation + outfit swap + multi-scene story" diamond/VIP bundle, with no visible differentiation.
1. What it is
- Play description: photo-to-short-video (presets or custom motion), AI image generation, virtual outfit changes (dress-up), and multi-scene Story Mode with the same character (VIP). Generation consumes "diamonds"; sells diamond packs and VIP. IAP $1.99–$99.99, no ads, content rating Teen. The description specifically states a "permanent SFW policy" (source: Play store page play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asterloop.studio, fetched 2026-11-06).
- Version has stayed at 1.0.0 since launch on 2026-10-15; the update note only says "Introducing AsterLoop" (googleplay database app_snap / app.recent_changes).
- The website asterloop.proeai.com is just Cling AI's web app: the page title is "Cling AI — Age Verification", with an entry gate reading "18+ This website contains adult content". Presets include "Tender Kiss", "Object to High Heels", "Become a Catgirl", and the navigation and Discord links match cling-ai.com exactly (Jina fetched asterloop.proeai.com and cling-ai.com, 2026-11-06). The proeai.com root domain runs the same frontend, branded "ProeAI", and pulls its assets straight from cling-ai.com.
- Cling AI's terms were updated on 2026-10-03 and require users to be 18+; pricing page shows VIP $59.99/year and "first month 2X" (https://cling-ai.com/terms, /recharge). The name "Cling" is one letter off from Kuaishou's Kling AI, and Exa results for "ClingAI" mix the two.

| 11-06 | 35,047 | +2,583 |
(googleplay database app_day; Play's maxInstalls is refreshed in batches, so don't over-read single-day numbers, watch the trend.)
- Rating count has been NULL throughout: 35k installs with no public rating yet, and the review sample is empty.
- Charts: Photo & Video Top Paid in France has held steadily at #32–34 (since 10-31); on 11-06 it was also #39 Top Paid in Indonesia, #47 in Mexico, #53 in the UK, and #60 in India. The hk / sg / ng / sa / za / my / vn / ae / pl / nl storefronts show exactly the same rank every day (e.g. all #87), which means one shared aggregate chart, not "charting in ten countries" (googleplay database chart_rank).
- On the day of the France Photo & Video Top Paid chart 11-06, AsterLoop was #32, right next to #33, the LumaSprig from the same family.
Shell-app matrix (googleplay database, matched by email_domain = cling-ai.com / developer_domain = *.proeai.com)

| Total | ≈201k | ≈149k |
- The four packages share the same description template ("Review the displayed diamond cost", "Story Mode generation is a VIP feature"), the same IAP range, all at version 1.0.0, and none have ratings.
- Synchronized install spikes: 10-31 FrameBloom +22,165, LumaSprig +23,360, MoriFrame +3,912; 11-02 AsterLoop +16,339, FrameBloom +19,223, LumaSprig +27,049 (app_day). Several packages scaled on the same day, which looks like one ad account spending in a coordinated way, not organic growth from a piece of content.
- Developer accounts: "muhammed waris" (AppBrain shows it active only since 2026) and "PIZZA DI LUNA, LLC" (the name sounds like a US pizza shop LLC) have nothing to do with AI video. They look like bought or borrowed developer accounts used to spread takedown risk. A developer called "Waris Mehmood Dev" has a separate app, Aervion (com.lwhrc.aervion), with a different email, and there is no evidence they are the same operator.
3. Competitors
| Competitors | Platform | Launched | Scale (googleplay library 11-06) | How it differs from AsterLoop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kling AI (Kuaishou) | Android / iOS / web | 2025-01 | 34.8M installs, 7 day +750k | Self-developed model, big brand; the Cling name clearly borrows its sound |
| PixVerse | Android / iOS / web | 2024-09 | 79.6M, #3 Photo & Video Top Paid in France | Top player, self-developed model, scaling via TikTok effect templates |
| Hailuo AI(MiniMax) | Android / iOS / web | 2025-01 | 27.8M, #6 Top Paid in France | Self-developed model |
| AI Video – HubX, Nexus (DQL TechLab), 3D FlixAI, etc. | Android | 2024–2026 | tens of millions | Same playbook of wrapping a model API plus paid acquisition, two orders of magnitude bigger |
| Shots / Dance AI (DeePix), DanceHit, Momo (ScaleUp) | Android | 2025–2026 | 400k–8M | Same category of template-driven photo animation; it charts right before and after AsterLoop in the France Top Paid list |
| Cling AI web app itself | Web | 2026 early (earliest blog post 2026-03, terms revised 10-03) | Unknown | Same backend; the web version allows 18+ content, the Play version is labeled SFW |
| Big-company features: Google Photos "photo to video", Adobe Firefly animation | Big-company features | 2025 | Built in | Free and built in, but without this many meme templates |
Bottom line: the category is very crowded, and AsterLoop has no distinct features. "Same character across multi-scene Story Mode" is a small selling point, and PixVerse and Kling have similar capabilities.
4. Growth tactics (evidence)
- Paid acquisition (likely, no ad creatives found): the privacy policy says Adjust is integrated to "attribute installs", sending registration / generation-start / payment-start / purchase-success events and revenue, and processing advertising identifiers for "advertising-source attribution" (https://asterloop.proeai.com/privacypolicy.html). Only apps buying ads need to send payment events back to an attribution platform. Combined with the four packages scaling together and 35k installs with zero ratings, the judgment is paid acquisition.
- But our ad libraries match no advertiser by legal entity, product name, or domain: googleads adv_map says no_ads (checked 11-02 and 11-04), tiktokads (Europe only) no_ads, and metaads shows no ads landing on these packages or domains. Possible explanations are agency accounts or Google App Campaigns (UAC), whose creatives often sit under the agency's name in the transparency center. This point is unverified.
- Shell-app matrix + multiple developer accounts: 4 packages across 2 accounts, same category and same keywords (AI Photo Motion / Photo Stories), taking search results and chart slots together, so if one account gets banned another takes over. Confirmed (googleplay database).
- Name borrowing: the parent brand is Cling AI, one letter off from Kling AI, and the web version grew on Kling's search traffic (Exa results mix the two). The Play shell packages themselves don't use the Cling name. Partly confirmed.
- Content / creators / X / Reddit: TikHub searches for asterloop, lumasprig, framebloom and "cling ai app" returned no related videos; x-radar shows zero posts about asterloop or cling-ai.com in the last 60 days. No organic content spread.
- Store search: long-tail terms like "AI Photo Motion" have low competition, and four packages with the same name and keywords may pick up a little organic search traffic. Not verified.
5. Why it took off
- Take a monetization model proven on the web and run it on Play with clean SFW decoy apps that collect Google Play payments: Cling AI's web product is an adult photo-to-video site with a diamond + VIP system. Adult content can't go on Play, so they ship several SFW-labeled decoy apps to Play, collect payments through Google Play billing, and run paid acquisition with Adjust for ROI. Within 2 weeks of launch they were charting in Top Grossing Photo & Video in France, Indonesia, the UK, Mexico and India, which suggests the paywall converts well. Likely copied playbook: diamond deductions, a first-month 2X offer, and a $99.99 mega bundle.
- Spreading risk across a portfolio, stacking chart positions: scaling several apps on the same day, the 4 apps combined for 7 days of +149k installs. Each app is mid-sized alone, but together they approach a small top-tier player.
- Timing: AI photo-animation templates (kissing, cat-girl transformation, face shaping, inflation and so on) have been the core category on Play's Photo & Video top grossing charts for 2025–2026 years, so user demand and ad creative are already proven.
6. Differentiation
The product itself has almost no differentiation; it's the same thing as template-based photo-animation apps like PixVerse, HubX and DeePix. What's actually different is the distribution structure: the web side draws traffic with 18+ pieces of content, while the Play side uses multiple SFW decoy apps to catch payments, with four apps and two accounts running paid acquisition together. That structure is why it worked. But this model carries high compliance risk: the website itself has a 18+ age gate, which contradicts the SFW claim on Play. Once Google review catches it, the whole batch could be pulled.
7. Visibility
- Revenue isn't public. TrustMRR, X and the media haven't mentioned it, and it has no TikTok presence. Only automated aggregators like appfigures, AppBrain, apkpure and softonic have pages for it.
- Bottom line: almost nobody knows about it yet. But this approach is a common gray-area playbook on Play, and many teams run it.
8. Copycats
I found no sign of copying AsterLoop; its 4 apps are self-replication.
9. Takeaways
- Prove the diamond/VIP pricing and template library on the web first, then package the same backend as several native shells for Play, and use Adjust to send paid events back for ROAS optimization.
- Spread several apps in the same category, using different long-tail names (Photo Motion / Photo Stories) to take search and chart slots and reduce single-app risk.
- Story Mode (one character across multiple scenes) is locked behind VIP to pull subscriptions.
- Lesson learned: the official domain points straight at a 18+ site, a clear takedown risk.
10. Uncertain
- Paid acquisition channels and spend: the ad libraries didn't match an advertiser, so whether it's Google UAC, Meta or another channel is unverified.
- Revenue: only chart ranks are visible. France's #32 in Photo & Video roughly corresponds to a few hundred dollars a day; this is an estimate, unverified.
- Whether muhammed waris and PIZZA DI LUNA, LLC are the same operator: domains, emails and code match, so it's essentially certain they're one operator; whether the accounts were bought is unverified.
- Retention: no ratings or reviews, so retention can't be assessed.
- No record found of Cling AI being pulled from Play over adult content, nor of who the team behind it is.
