An AI-drawn soulmate, paywall removed and sold to Mexicans: AstroLuna and a wallpaper factory's playbook
What it is You enter your birthday and zodiac sign, and the AI draws a sketch of your "soulmate", plus compatibility, a birth chart, tarot and chat. It's free and monetized with ads.
Why it took off Not word of mouth. The developer, Fusion Flow Tech, is an ad-monetized app factory. Starting October 23, it bought traffic in cheap countries like India, Mexico and the Philippines (inferred). It rode a topic that subscription apps in the US store had already been pushing on TikTok.
CHow you could follow Don't build the soulmate portrait itself. Copy the playbook: watch which "AI image makes your fate" topic the US subscription apps push on TikTok next, then, while it's still paywalled-only, ship a free ad-supported version, buy cheap traffic in low-cost countries, and climb the category charts country by country.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-10-07 · 11-07 installs 37,699
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
AstroLuna: Soulmate Sketch has been live for a month and hit 38k installs on Google Play. Its best showing was #29 in the Lifestyle Top Free chart in Mexico. It looks like a new hit, but it's actually a factory that makes wallpapers, icons and fidget spinners. It took the soulmate portrait that Americans pay $4–$100 to see on TikTok and made a free, ad-supported version, sold into Latin America and Southeast Asia. In that same month, at least two other factories shipped an identical product.
One face, 68%
Open AstroLuna's store page and the first screenshot is a pencil-sketch young man with curly hair, smiling on some steps. Below: "Sun Aquarius / Moon Taurus / Rising Taurus", and under that a progress bar: "Match 68%". The second screenshot switches to a woman, titled "Soulmate Analysis", listing her personality, strengths, and where you'll meet.
It didn't invent this format. On TikTok, 2026 Aug 29 an account called @your_soulmate_connection posted a video captioned only "Check it out for yourself!", which got 1.56M views but just 1,726 likes and 2 shares. That ratio looks more like paid reach than organic spread (inferred). In Oct 22 an ordinary user posted "Wait…Why does it look like me", 5,496 views. Oct 24 @astrostarr4 pushed Starcrossed: "Only Starcrossed draws your soulmate accurately, link in bio", 70k views. There are also dedicated accounts like @soulmatesketch7, posting almost daily in early November as "best friend nights unboxing soulmate sketches". (TikTok search, 11-06)
In the US this is a subscription business. What AstroLuna does is the same portrait, free, with ads instead.
What it is and who made it
- A grab bag: soulmate portraits and analysis, chatting with a "soulmate", generated couple and family photos, birth charts, India's Kundli, tarot. The features are stacked so people stay longer and see more ads.
- Free, no in-app purchases, ad-supported (Google Play store info, same every day from 10-29 to 11-06).
- Listed Oct 7, updated Oct 27 to 1.0.2.
The developer is Fusion Flow Tech. The privacy policy says "formerly Coconut Game", and the contact email is still coconut.game.2016. Its big apps on Play are: Smile Live Wallpaper (14M installs), Themebox icons (13M), Nano AI image generator (7.01M), and Fidget Spinner (4.96M). That's 7 apps and 41M installs in total (Google Play, 11-06). A third party estimates the whole portfolio's in-app purchase revenue over 30 days at only $0 to $85k (AppGazers). With 4 tens of millions of installs and that little IAP, the money clearly comes from ads. Its website's app-ads.txt lists 82 AdMob publisher accounts, plus over a thousand lines of authorized sellers for PubMatic, Rubicon, InMobi, Meta and others. That's the setup of a "buy traffic, run ads, keep the spread" factory.
How it took off
First the numbers (cumulative Google Play installs worldwide):
| Date | Installs |
|---|---|
| 10-29 | 8,349 |
| 10-31 | 13,713 |
| 11-03 | 26,932 |
| 11-05 | 32,325 |
| 11-06 | 37,699 |
29k new installs in one week. Looking further back, the third-party curve goes: before Oct 22, two weeks after launch it had only a dozen or so installs; from Oct 23 to 886; then Oct 24 added over 4,600 in a single day (AppstoreSpy estimate). Near zero for two weeks then a sudden spike is the shape of starting paid acquisition, not of slowly building word of mouth.
The charts tell the same story. From Oct 29 to Nov 1 it only showed on India's Lifestyle free chart (climbing from #134 to #92). On Nov 2 India dropped off and within a day the whole set switched to Mexico, Argentina and the Philippines. Nov 4 added South Africa, Nov 6 added Indonesia (Google Play category charts). Organic word of mouth doesn't move from India to Mexico overnight. Ad spend does.
One more thing: 38k installs and not a single rating. These users were pulled in by ads, tried it once and left.
It has no TikTok videos of its own in search, and on X there hasn't been a single mention in nearly 30 days. So "paid acquisition" is an inference: I haven't seen its ad creatives. But the developer profile, the ad setup, the install curve and the chart movement all point the same way.
This company ran the same play once before, a month ago. NakshAI (Indian astrology plus tarot, listed Sep 9, also free with ads). A third party estimates it added 4k in one day in Oct 120 and 8k in one day in Oct 500, passing 1.2M installs in a month (AppstoreSpy estimate; single-day jumps like this can also come from incentivized or cross-promo installs, not verified). AstroLuna swaps the same astrology code onto the more viral "soulmate portrait" theme and tries again. Today it sits at 3% of NakshAI's numbers.
Who it's competing with
Plenty, in two groups.
Paid veterans who already educated the market on TikTok:
| App | Installs (Play, 11-06) | How it charges |
|---|---|---|
| Amora - Astra Soulmate Draw | 4.73M | Subscription $3.99–19.99, no ads |
| Amora: A Hint of Your Soulmate | 3.99M | IAP $3.99–79.99 plus ads |
| Nova Match: Soulmate Sketch (Vietnam, Amobear) | 1.39M | IAP $13.99–99.99 |
| Universe AI: Soulmate Drawing | 96k | IAP $2.99–99.99 |
On iOS and TikTok there are also Nebula, Starla, Karma, Starcrossed, Moyra and EPIK, all pushing through creators and UGC videos. There's even a public Reddit post recruiting creators for reaction videos for a soulmate-portrait app at $600+ per month. On the web, NightCafe and sketchto.com generate them for free.
Free ad-supported copies that appeared the same month, almost identical to AstroLuna:
| App | Launched | Installs | New this week |
|---|---|---|---|
| MoonPhase: Couple & Soulmate (Vietnam, VIONYX) | 10-11 | 50k | 41k |
| AstroLuna | 10-07 | 38k | 29k |
| StarGuide: Love & Astrology(NexLayer) | 10-07 | 35k | 24k |
| Jyotiva: AI Astrology & Tarot(NexLayer) | 10-08 | 27k | 23k |
Same launch week, also free, also on the Mexico, Argentina and Philippines Lifestyle charts. Rather than AstroLuna breaking out, a batch of Asian tool factories all picked up this theme at once, and it's one of them, and not the biggest.
What sets it apart
Only two things, and both are easy to copy:
- No paywall. Amora, Nova Match and Universe AI all require a subscription before you see your portrait. AstroLuna lets you watch ads. For users in Latin America or Southeast Asia who won't pay for subscriptions, the barrier is much lower.
- Lots of features. The portrait is just the entry point. Chat, couple photos, birth charts and tarot sit behind it to add more screens and more interstitials.
What got it to 38k installs isn't these two things. It's the company behind it, which buys cheap traffic and knows how to monetize ad revenue.
If it were you
The verdict: don't copy AstroLuna. "Free soulmate portrait + ads + Latin American paid acquisition" was taken by at least four others within a single October month, and they're factories with ready-made ad monetization. You'd be competing on the thing they're best at. What's worth learning is the playbook behind it: after a US subscription app educates the market on a theme on TikTok, remove the paywall, swap in ads, and sell into the countries where traffic is cheap.
Who it suits: a small team or studio that already runs AdMob plus mediation, has bought Google UAC or Meta, and can calculate what an install costs and how many ads one user will see.
Who it doesn't suit: people who have never bought ads and are hoping for organic store traffic. These apps have 38k installs and zero ratings, which means nobody finds them on their own. It's also not for anyone who just wants to build a soulmate portrait app, since dozens of apps and free websites already split this theme.
How to do it: change the theme, keep the playbook. Watch which "AI image + destiny" format US subscription apps push next on TikTok (past-life portraits, future baby faces, guardian animals and the like, inferred; you'll have to watch closely to see which one takes off). When it's still paid-only, ship a free ad-supported version within two to three weeks. One set of astrology and AI-image code can be reskinned again and again, which is how this company went from NakshAI to AstroLuna.
How to get users: spend a small budget on installs in cheap countries like Mexico, the Philippines, India and Indonesia. Use daily category chart rank as an external signal. Scale up wherever it pays back, and swap out the whole set wherever it doesn't. AstroLuna moving from India to Latin America within a day is exactly this. Use the theme's own reaction videos as creative: "why it drew someone who looks like someone I know".
When to move: from a theme catching on in a paid US subscription version to Asian factories' free versions filling Latin American charts took about a year this time (Amora launched in July 2025, the free versions piled in around October 2026). For the next theme, get in one to two months before the free versions pile up.
Signs you got it wrong: ① a month later AstroLuna, MoonPhase and StarGuide are all stuck at tens of thousands of installs and have dropped off the Latin American charts. That means free ad-supported versions in this category don't pay back, and the factories tested and pulled out. ② The other way around: if one of them replicates NakshAI's pattern of hundreds of thousands in a single day, then ad-supported versions really do work in low-cost countries, and it's worth hunting for the next theme with the same playbook. ③ If the top player, Amora, launches its own free ad-supported version aimed at Latin America, then late entrants lose their price gap.

- Inferred Paid acquisition (low-cost countries: Latin America, Philippines, South Africa, Indonesia, India): nearly zero installs for 16 days after launch, then a sudden spike from 10-23 (AppstoreSpy estimate); the chart country set switched wholesale from India to Mexico / Argentina / Philippines within a day (chart_rank 11-01→11-02); 37k installs with 0 ratings; the same developer's NakshAI had a single-day +500k spike. Not tracked in the Meta / Google ad libraries, so there is no direct creative evidence.
- Verified Ad monetization (where the money comes back from): store fields show offers_iap=False, ad_supported=True; fusion-flow.co/app-ads.txt has 82 AdMob publisher IDs plus over a thousand lines of programmatic authorizations from PubMatic / Rubicon / InMobi / Meta and others.
- Verified Riding theme heat (the soulmate drawing trend on TikTok): the trend has dedicated coverage (venusly.app) and Reddit UGC recruitment posts, and videos from Amora / Starla / Nebula have tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of views. But searching AstroLuna on TikTok turns up no related videos. It rides the theme and makes no content of its own.
- Inferred Store search / category chart: the title is stuffed with keywords "Soulmate Sketch" and "Astrology", ranking #42–175 on the 5 LIFESTYLE free chart, which may bring a small amount of organic downloads.
Why AstroLuna: Soulmate Sketch (Google Play, com.astroluna.soulmatesketch.astrology) got traction
Research date 2026-11-06. Data sources: our googleplay library (app_profile / app_snap / chart_rank / app_day_ext, the last being AppstoreSpy estimates), the metaads / googleads libraries, the developer's website fusion-flow.co (privacy.txt, app-ads.txt), AppGazers, Jina search, TikHub (TikTok search), x-radar.
Bottom line
It didn't break out on product quality or word of mouth. A developer running a "tools / fun apps factory" (Fusion Flow Tech, formerly Coconut Game) took the already-proven "AI soulmate portrait" category and built a template app that is free, no IAP, purely ad-monetized, then pushed it into cheap-traffic countries like Mexico, the Philippines, Argentina, South Africa, Indonesia and India. At 37.7k installs it's small for this category. It's just one of many copycats in the same batch, and it's copying this company's own NakshAI playbook from a month earlier.
1. Basic data
- Developer: Fusion Flow Tech, site fusion-flow.co, email [email protected]; privacy policy reads "Fusion Flow Tech (former Coconut Game)" (https://www.fusion-flow.co/privacy.txt).
- Store launch 2026-10-07; version 1.0.2,2026-10-27 updated; free, no in-app purchases (offers_iap=False), with ads (ad_supported=True). Source: googleplay.app_snap, same every day from 10-29 to 11-06.
- Installs (cumulative worldwide, googleplay.app_snap): 10-29 8,349 → 10-31 13,713 → 11-03 26,932 → 11-05 32,325 → 11-06 37,699; 7 new installs in 29,350 days.
- Curve since launch (AppstoreSpy estimate, app_day_ext): 10-22 had only 11 installs, then from 10-23 to 886,10-24 it went +4,661 a day, reaching 5,547,10-26 by 8,346. So it had almost no installs for two weeks after launch, then suddenly took off from 10-23, the shape you see when paid acquisition starts, not organic growth built up slowly.
- Charted (chart_rank, all in the LIFESTYLE free category chart, never on the overall or Top Grossing charts): 10-29 to 11-01 only in India (134 → 92); from 11-02 it switched to Mexico (peak #29), Argentina (50), and the Philippines (84 → 53); 11-04 added South Africa, 11-06 added Indonesia. The whole set of countries switched within a day, which looks more like the target regions being switched than like word of mouth spreading.
- No ratings, no reviews (ratings empty). 37k installs without a single rating means these are paid-acquisition users who installed and tried it, not fans who went looking for it.
2. Competitors: this is a crowded category
"AI draws your soulmate from birthday / birth chart" has been a ready-made category on TikTok since 2025 (Venusly has an article on this TikTok trend: venusly.app/guides/soulmate-drawing-trend/; a Reddit r/UGCcreators post recruits creators for a "Soulmate Drawing App" at $600+ per month: www.reddit.com/r/UGCcreators/comments/1ljb6i2/).

Bigger players on iOS / TikTok (search "soulmate sketch app" on TikTok, TikHub 2026-11-06): Nebula's Soulmate Sketch, Starla, Amora, Karma, Himira, Starcrossed, and EPIK (one cosmicmatch video has 560k views) all promote through creator / UGC videos. On the web, NightCafe and sketchto.com have free "soulmate sketch" generator pages.
Launched around the same time as AstroLuna (10-07 to 10-11), with the same "no IAP + ads + soulmate / birth chart" model, and charting on the LIFESTYLE charts in Mexico / Argentina / the Philippines: StarGuide (NexLayer) and MoonPhase (VIONYX). This is a batch of Asian tool-app factories copying the same category at once. AstroLuna is just one of them, and its scale is about the same as the other two.
3. Growth tactic: most likely paid acquisition, with the money coming back through ads
Chain of evidence:
- The developer is an ad-monetized app factory. Fusion Flow Tech has 7 apps in our database with 41.1M installs in total: Smile Live Wallpaper (14M), Themebox icons (13M), Nano AI image generator (7.01M), finger spinner (4.96M), AI music video (830k), and more. AppGazers says it has 17 apps on Play, including barber-shop prank sounds and lip-sync filters (https://appgazers.com/reports/developers/android-Fusion+Flow+Tech). AppGazers estimates the whole portfolio's in-app purchase revenue at $0–85K over 30 days, which is tiny next to 4 tens of millions of installs. The money comes mainly from ads.
- fusion-flow.co/app-ads.txt is a very heavy ad-aggregation config: 82 Google AdMob publisher IDs, plus PubMatic (340 lines), Rubicon, Unruly, Smart AdServer, InMobi, Pubnative, Meta, and over a thousand lines of programmatic ad authorizations. This is the setup you see from a "buy traffic → ad monetization → keep the spread" factory.
- AstroLuna itself charges nothing: no IAP, ads only. Without a subscription wall, you can only monetize through interstitial / rewarded video, which pays off only if traffic is cheap. That's why it targets Mexico, Argentina, the Philippines, South Africa, Indonesia, and India, not the US store.
- The curve and charts look like paid acquisition: almost zero installs for 16 days after launch, then a sudden spike at 10-23; the set of charting countries switched as a group (India → Latin America + the Philippines); and no ratings at all.
- The same playbook has already been proven: NakshAI (2026-09-09 launched; same developer, same no-IAP, ad-supported model). AppstoreSpy estimates its curve at 10-04 with +124k in a single day, then 10-08 with +508k, passing 1.2M in a month before falling back each day to a few thousand to 20-30K, ranking #47 in India's LIFESTYLE chart. A one-day spike of several hundred thousand like this is the shape you only get from large-scale paid acquisition (or traffic swaps). AstroLuna is the same playbook tried again on the more viral "soulmate portrait" theme, but so far it's only at 3% of NakshAI's volume.
- No organic content channel: searching "AstroLuna" on TikTok returns no relevant videos (only astrologers with the same name); x-radar has 30 posts in the last 0 days; our Meta and Google ad libraries have not tracked this package name or developer (those libraries only track listed products, so not being found there doesn't mean it isn't advertising). Online, there are only auto-aggregator pages like APKPure, Softonic, and AppBrain.
So: "paid acquisition" is an inference; we have no direct ad creative evidence. "Ad monetization" is backed by app-ads.txt and store fields.
4. Differentiation
Compared with the category leaders, it differs in only two ways:
- Free, no paywall: Amora / Nova Match / Universe AI all require a subscription before you can see the portrait ($3.99–99.99); AstroLuna uses ads in place of a paywall. For users in Latin America / Southeast Asia with low willingness to pay, that's a lower barrier.
- Lots of features: soulmate portrait + a "soulmate" chat + couple / family photo generation + birth chart + India's Kundli + tarot. The aim is longer session time and more ad impressions, not doing one feature well.
These aren't why it took off. The same StarGuide and MoonPhase are exactly the same "free + ads + mixed bag" model, and at larger scale. It reached 37k installs because of the developer's ability to buy traffic and monetize through ads, plus a theme that others had already taught on TikTok.
5. Visibility
- Revenue is not public; no media or X accounts have written about it; there's no content about it on TikTok.
- But the category itself is busy: the two leaders Amora combined have close to 9M installs, Nebula / Starla / EPIK have TikTok videos with hundreds of thousands of views, and UGC recruitment posts are public on Reddit. The "soulmate portrait" direction is already crowded, and at least 3 free, ad-supported versions like AstroLuna (StarGuide, MoonPhase, Jyotiva/NexLayer) have appeared alongside it.
6. What to borrow
- "Paid category → free + ad version → sell into low-price markets": a subscription app in the US store educates the market on TikTok, then a factory-style developer builds a version without the paywall, adds ads, and uses cheap traffic from Latin America / Southeast Asia / India to keep the spread.
- Keep reusing one template across themes: NakshAI (Indian astrology) → AstroLuna (soulmate portraits). The same "astrology + tarot + AI images" code gets a new package name, a new headline feature, and new target countries, and whichever one pays back gets more budget.
- Switch target countries daily, using chart position as an external signal of campaign performance.
7. Uncertain
- There's no direct ad creative evidence (Meta / Google ad libraries don't track it). "Buying traffic" is inferred from the developer profile, app-ads.txt, the curve shape, and the country switches.
- Ad revenue and ROI can't be verified; with 37k installs and 0 ratings, retention is likely very poor.
- NakshAI's 500k single-day step may also include traffic swaps / preinstalls / incentivized downloads. Not verified.
- AppstoreSpy's daily increments are averaged across the gap between two observations, so single-day numbers only show the trend.
