One "five stars for 30 coins" review, and the AI girlfriend reskin assembly line behind it: how Auri reached 10,000 installs in three weeks

What it is An AI girlfriend chat app that unlocks explicit images and videos, charges coins per message, with in-app purchases up to $799.99, and the store page says nothing about adult content.

Why it's hot The same team relaunches under a new shell-company account every month or two. From Oct 30 they seem to have started paid acquisition, then pushed ratings above 4.6 with "5-star reviews get 30 coins," so new releases climb fast.

CHow you could follow Don't build a fifth reskin. If you do go in, do what it doesn't: transparent pricing, data deletion, no signup required, sell on the web, acquire users through adult ad networks, and don't bet on Play.

C grade: you can learn a matrix-reskin plus high-price IAP playbook, but the adult AI girlfriend niche is already crowded, each shell tops out around 100K installs, and review farming and borderline content could get it cleared from Play at any time. Not worth following. Almost nobody knows about it yet

Auri: Made for You is an AI character chat app that went live on Google Play in Oct 15. Its store page is squeaky clean, but user reviews say "very explicit". Through late October it had only a few installs a day, and within a week it hit 10,000. It has no product worth talking about; the 10,000 installs came from an operations process. The same team runs one backend and re-lists a shell every month or two, and Auri is the fourth. The playbook is worth learning, but not worth following.

A five-star review with 4 helpful votes

In 2026 Oct 30, a five-star review appeared in Auri's US reviews, but it doesn't read like praise at all:

"over priced, requires a 5 star review to get 30 coins. not even sure how points are used per message" (Way too expensive, you have to give five stars to get 30 coins. I can't even tell how many points each message costs.)

This one has 4 helpful votes, the most on this app. Two days earlier, on Oct 28, another user also gave five stars with a single line: "it's not really five star it's just free coins" (not really five stars, just here for the free coins).

Put those two reviews back into the data and it lines up. From Oct 31 to Nov 5, Auri's Google Play installs went from 2,773 to 10,432, and ratings from 94 to 364: about 7,700 new installs, 270 ratings left, a ratio of about 3.5%, where a typical app runs about 1%. As of Nov 6, the US store page had 393 ratings in total, 307 of them five-star, averaging 4.66.

What it actually is

The store description reads: "a personalized AI character experience", "unlock exclusive images and special character moments". Not one word about adult content.

The reviews tell a different story (latest 75 US reviews, 10-24 to 11-05):

"simple and to the point great nsfw" — 10-29
"very interactive a good time to play out whatever fantasy you like, creating your own videos very adult." — 10-26
"so far I love this app. Great pics and videos!" — 11-01
"this app is filled with pornographic ai chats and it needs to be taken off the appstore" — 10-30, one star

So it's an AI girlfriend chat app that unlocks explicit images and videos. The store rating is Mature 17+, labeled "contains ads"; coins are spent per message, and in-app purchases run from $2.99 up to $799.99. The complaints are almost all about money: "totally pay to play", "its to much about the money", "feel like the chat are costing to much". One five-star reviewer put it most bluntly: "Prices a bit higher than other apps, but the NSFW content is good", clearly with more than one of these apps on their phone.

From Oct 26 to 29, it added only about three installs a day. From Oct 30 on, it jumped to thousands a day. In these days there was no article and no X post, and a TikTok search for "Auri AI" only turns up an unrelated AI keyboard with the same name. Organic traffic doesn't grow like this; the most likely explanation is paid ads starting around Oct 30 (inferred). A sister app from the same team has a review on Nov 5 saying "the ad say it's unlimited chat but it's not", which suggests they really are buying ads. Which platforms and how much was spent is unverified: adult apps usually can't run on Meta or TikTok, so they typically use adult ad networks or programmatic ads.

Two things are visible. One is five-star-for-coins pushing the rating above 4.6, which lifts store page conversion. The other is chart exposure during the launch window: it only appeared in the tail of the Entertainment free chart in places like Poland, Sweden, Australia and Canada, ranking #129 to #198, and never made the overall chart or Top Grossing.

It's not one app, it's the fourth

Another review says "has a lot of identical characters as other apps" (the characters are identical to other apps), 10-29. Following the IAP prices, website and description phrasing, you can find three more apps from the same team:

All four apps sit in the $2.99 to $799.99 in-app purchase tier, all official sites are on .top domains, the homepages are just a few Figma-exported slices, the privacy policies come from the same template, and the contact emails are random-name gmail addresses. Store descriptions all open with the same line: "Welcome to X: Y, a … AI character experience." The developer names have nothing to do with the product: some are car rental or car companies, and searching "VIA DEL GUSTO" only turns up Italian restaurants in Paris and Zurich. These are most likely bought developer accounts (inference). Echora's reviews also include "Just wanted the 30 coins for doing this", so five stars for coins is shared across all four apps.

The cadence is visible too: a new shell roughly every one to two months, with the old shells left up and still running. Each shell climbs to 80k to 130k installs and then flattens. PitAPatAI reached 130k installs in four months, and November adds only a few hundred a day. Each new package gets a fresh pass at Play's new-release traffic, and if one gets banned, only one package is lost. We could not identify who runs it. The .top domains, Figma-slice websites, and shell-company accounts look a lot like an overseas-expansion team from China (inference).

Candy.ai, CrushOn, and other web sitesNot verifiedWebsites don't go through store review, and their content is the most explicit

There are many new packages in this niche. Compared with its peers, Auri has no real product difference: users themselves say "the characters are the same as other apps." Its only real difference from the big platforms is "no filtering, and images and video unlock," and every small adult-oriented package offers that.

Where it falls short

  • Opaque charging: "not even sure how points are used per message". Users can't tell how much each message costs.
  • Expensive: several reviews say it costs more than other apps, with an in-app purchase ceiling of $799.99.
  • Unstable: "dropping and closing every 3 minutes" (11-01), "load time at chats at times is slower" (11-02).
  • Forced sign-up: "If the app requires an account and does have the option for a guest account, ditch it." (10-29)
  • Privacy: the store page's data safety section says data is not encrypted and cannot be deleted on request, and that location and device IDs are shared with third parties. For an adult chat app, that is a serious problem.

These gaps are real, but they are hard to turn into an opportunity. This audience switches apps quickly, and it compares on content and price. Being more transparent and more stable is unlikely to keep them around.

If it were you

C. You can learn a complete "matrix reskin" playbook from it, but following it isn't worth the effort: the niche is already crowded, each shell tops out at around 100k installs, and the whole approach sits at the edge of Google Play policy.

Who it suits: overseas teams that already have a character-chat backend, experience running adult ad networks, and can accept that packages may be pulled at any time. For them, what's worth learning is the operating rhythm, not the product.

Who it doesn't suit: indie developers who want to run a product for the long term and disclose their revenue publicly; anyone without adult-content payment and acquisition channels; anyone relying on organic store search. Organic traffic here is close to zero.

How to do it: if you must enter, don't build a fifth reskin. What it gets wrong is transparency and trust: spell out the charging, let users delete their data, and don't force sign-up. Turn those into selling points and sell on the web, not inside a Play package, which sidesteps store review and Google's cut. What's worth taking is three things: one backend serving multiple front ends, high-price tiers for a small group of heavy spenders, and daily check-in coins for retention. Trading rewards for reviews violates Play policy, so don't copy that.

How to acquire users: adult content is largely barred from Meta, TikTok, and Google ads, so you have to go through adult ad networks and programmatic channels, plus word of mouth in adult communities on Reddit. There is no shortcut here; the barrier is your ability to run paid acquisition.

What window?: there isn't really one. New packages like this surface every month, and Google Play periodically sweeps adult and review-farmed apps in batches. If you do go after it, don't bet anything on Play.

What would show this analysis is wrong: (1) Auri keeps growing after December, passes 130k installs, and charts in Top Grossing, which would mean this playbook has a higher ceiling than older shells suggest; (2) this team's four packages survive a round of Play cleanup and all stay listed, which would mean the policy risk is smaller than it looks; (3) someone publicly discloses revenue from these reskin packages with clearly positive paid-acquisition ROI, which would mean they earn more than they appear to and are worth a serious look.

Echora in the same matrix has a review saying "the ad say it's unlimited chat but it's not". Our Meta, TikTok, and Google ad libraries don't track it, so we can't verify.
  • Confirmed Trading coins for five-star reviews: reviews say "requires a 5 star review to get 30 coins" (10-30) and "it's not really five star it's just free coins" (10-29). Bottom line

Auri is an AI girlfriend/character companion app whose store page is coy but whose actual content is NSFW. It charges coins per message, with in-app purchases topping out at $799.99. It is not a standalone product: the same operator uses shell-company developer accounts, .top domains, random gmail addresses, the same description template, and the same in-app purchase tiers ($2.99–$799.99). On Play they have already published at least 4 reskin apps (PitAPatAI in June → Echora in August → Omi in September → Auri in October). Auri is the newest one on this assembly line. Its numbers look good because of matrix reskinning, paid acquisition (indirect evidence), and trading coins for five-star reviews to push its rating to 4.6–4.7, not because of the product itself.

  • Growth nearly stalled in late October (10-26 to 10-29, about 3 installs a day), then spiked from 10-30: 750 → 1,400 → 1,700 per day (AppstoreSpy estimate, averaged across observation gaps). This is a classic paid acquisition inflection point, not organic growth.
  • The rating conversion is abnormal: from 10-31 to 11-05 installs, ratings rose by 270 (+7,659), about 3.5%. A typical app is around 1%. Five stars make up 77% of ratings, which matches the "five stars for coins" pattern described below.

It never charted on the overall or Top Grossing charts (googleplay library chart_rank). On AppBrain's Swiss "New Free Apps" chart it ranked #84.

2. What it actually is (from user reviews: the latest 74 US-store reviews pulled via google-play-scraper)

The store description only mentions a "personalized AI character experience" and "unlock exclusive images and special character moments." The reviews describe something else:

  • "simple and to the point great nsfw", "very explicit", "super sexy", "creating your own videos very adult", "Great pics and videos!"
  • "this app is filled with pornographic ai chats and it needs to be taken off the appstore" (1 stars)
  • On pricing: "totally pay to play", "over priced", "its to much about the money", "Prices a bit higher than other apps, but the NSFW content is good"
  • Evidence of review farming: "over priced, requires a 5 star review to get 30 coins" (2026-10-30); "it's not really five star it's just free coins" (10-29). Reviews on Echora, another app in the same matrix, also say "Just wanted the 30 coins for doing this", "doing it for the coins", and "doing it for free coins". The mechanism is shared across the whole matrix.
  • Evidence of reskinning: "has a lot of identical characters as other apps" (10-29); an Echora review says "same as sealove"; Omi and Echora reviews say "same as lot of other same base ai's".

3. Matrix: 4 Apps from one publisher (Google Play library, identical iap_range = $2.99–$799.99)

Shared traits:

  • The developer names have nothing to do with the apps: a car rental firm, an auto company, an Italian restaurant name (searching "VIA DEL GUSTO" only turns up Italian restaurants in Paris and Zurich). Looks like bought or impersonated Play developer accounts. AppBrain shows WT RENTAL CARS LIMITED as "active under a month, only one app."
  • The websites are all www.<name>.top, the homepages are just a pile of Figma slices (FigmaDDSSlicePNG…), and the privacy and user policies use the same template (cwauri.top/privacy-policy.html and echorale.top/privacy-policy.html have identical structure). Contact emails are random-person Gmail addresses (lailadusabre@, alainahuya@, hikoyurewa@).
  • Store descriptions all use the same "Welcome to X: Y, a/an … AI character experience …" formula and never mention adult content.
  • Cadence: roughly one new skin every 1–2 months, old skins keep running. Each app pulls in a thousand or two installs a day (Echora and Omi 9–October, AppstoreSpy estimates of daily adds around 500–5,000).
  • Pattern: each skin climbs to about 8–130k installs and then flattens (PitAPatAI reached 130k in 4 months, daily adds fell to a few hundred in November), then gets replaced. This is spreading takedown risk across new packages and hedging against the decay of new-package traffic bonuses.

Verdict: this niche is flooded with new packages. Auri has no product-level distinctiveness against its peers. Users say in reviews that "the characters are the same as in other apps."

5. Growth tactics

  1. Paid acquisition (indirect evidence, not directly verified): from 10-26 to 10-29 it averaged about 3 installs a day, then jumped to over a thousand a day starting 10-30, with no media or social mentions. Organic traffic doesn't explain that. A sibling app in the matrix, Echora, has a review saying "the ad say it's unlimited chat but it's not" (2026-11-05), which shows this publisher does run ads. Our Meta, TikTok (Europe) and Google ad libraries return nothing, because these apps are not on our tracking list. Not finding them doesn't mean they aren't advertising. Adult apps often run on adult or programmatic ad networks beyond Meta and TikTok. We have not verified this.
  2. Rating manipulation: 30 coins are exchanged for five-star reviews, the rating rate is about 3.5% and five stars make up 77%. The store rating was pushed to 4.6–4.7, which lifts store conversion and can help it chart (direct evidence from reviews).
  3. Store charts and new-release exposure: ranks 130–200 on the Entertainment free charts (pl/se/au/ca etc.), plus #84 on AppBrain's Switzerland new-releases chart. Organic exposure here is small.
  4. Descriptions skirt the line: the copy is entirely "clean" to pass review. The real selling points (NSFW images and video) spread through ad creative and word of mouth.
  5. Content and social: searching TikTok for "Auri Made for You" and "Auri AI" returns videos for a different Auri AI keyboard (auri.ai), which is unrelated. X (x-radar, last 30 days) has no mentions. Reddit and media searches found nothing. We can conclude there is no content marketing.
  6. Name piggybacking: "Auri" shares its name with an iOS AI keyboard, Auri (auri.ai), which has hundreds of thousands of users. Whether it captures search traffic from that is unverified. It looks like coincidence.

6. Why it showed up (really, "the data looks like it's rising")

  • The demand is ready-made: NSFW AI companion chat has a steady paying audience (mainly men in Europe and the US). Users in reviews actively compare prices and content range with other apps, which shows they use several apps at once and are easily pulled away by new packages.
  • The supply is industrialized: the same backend, character pool and coin system can be relaunched as a new package with a different shell company, name and icon. Every new package gets another round of Play's new-release weighting, and if one is banned, only one package is lost.
  • The monetization is heavy: coins are deducted per message, top IAP is $799.99, whale users carry the paid acquisition ROI, and ads are layered on top (Contains ads).
  • The ratings are manufactured: five-star reviews bought with coins made a 4.6+ rating and fast climbs during the new-release window possible.
  • Ten thousand installs is tiny for this niche. It scored because of its 7-day growth (+7,659, nearly 4x). As a benchmark, sibling skins in the same matrix tend to top out around 8–130k installs.

7. Differentiation

No product differentiation. Compared with mainstream C.AI, Talkie and PolyBuzz, the only difference is "no filter, unlocks explicit images and video." Every adult-oriented small app has that, and the three other apps in the same matrix are effectively the same product. Its real differences are operational: matrix reskins, shell-company accounts, borderline content that passes review, coins exchanged for ratings, and high-priced IAP. These, not the product, are why it grew.

8. Visibility and copycats

  • Visibility: few people know it. No revenue is public, no media coverage, X and TikTok don't mention it, and the only listings found are auto-generated entries from APK sites, CNET and Softonic.
  • Copycats: it isn't others copying it; it is copying itself (3 sibling skins). The niche has many similar adult AI girlfriend packages (Aiko, Kawaii AI, Bae Love, Amora, etc.), so it's crowded.

9. Takeaways

  • The "one backend, many front-end packages" matrix approach: use new packages to catch new-release traffic and spread takedown risk, shipping a new skin every 1–2 months.
  • The high-price IAP ceiling is set at $799.99, aimed squarely at whale users.
  • Per-message coin charges, plus sign-in coins and review-reward coins for retention and ratings. (Note: trading rewards for reviews violates Google Play policy and risks removal.)
  • Not recommended to copy. This is a gray-area play on the edge of Play policy: adult content, review manipulation and impersonated developer accounts, any of which can get apps pulled in bulk at any time.

10. Uncertain

  • No direct evidence on acquisition channels or spend (our ad libraries don't cover it).
  • The publisher's identity is unknown (likely a Chinese going-global team, inferred from the .top domains, Figma-slice websites and shell accounts).
  • Revenue: it has never charted on Top Grossing, and its revenue scale is unknown.
  • On AppstoreSpy's curves, three older skins show a step of about 10k on the same day, 10-04, 10-08 and 10-12. That could be concentrated buying on one day, or just Play's counter refreshing in batches. Unverified.
  • Whether the "SeaLove" mentioned in reviews is an earlier product from the same publisher has not been found.
