BeReady: Constable Exam Prep · BeReady Exams

# Two apps took off and landed on the same day: how a small Telangana studio used ₹99 Telugu question banks to ride the exam season

**What it is** A Telugu-language exam prep app for candidates sitting Telangana and Andhra Pradesh police constable exams, with mock tests, past papers, study notes and post-test ranking. One mock test is free; the rest is ₹99 a month.

**Why it spiked** The Telangana police written exam is set for December 20 and candidates are cramming. The developer pushed paid traffic to it and its sister bank exam app on November 1–3, gaining about 21k installs each, after which growth fell to almost zero.

**C** **How you could play it** Don't crowd into exams that Testbook and Adda247 already own. Go after state-level recruitments that have no decent local-language product, make the past papers and answer keys accurate, work backwards from the notification date to launch, and run concentrated paid pushes with short local-language videos plus Google App Campaigns before the exam.

Grade C: the playbook is cheap and learnable, but the category is already packed with big platforms and small question banks. BeReady itself dropped to a few dozen daily installs after its push, with a rating of 3.7, and has not shown it can collect money. Users leave once the exam is over, so the window is short. Few people know about it yet

BeReady: Constable Exam Prep is a Telugu-language app that helps candidates in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states prepare for police constable written exams. It launched in Oct 21. In three days, November 1 to 3, it got 21k installs, then nearly stopped. The same developer's bank exam app followed exactly the same curve. This isn't a story of a product catching fire on its own. It's a story of a new studio pushing traffic in before exam season. Below: what it did, where the traffic came from, and whether this business is worth copying.

### A channel with 3 subscribers, one short video with 11k views

On Oct 22, the YouTube channel @BeReadyExams posted a Short called "Khaki Dream" (khaki is the colour of Indian police uniforms). Its Telugu caption opens with "కష్టపడేది మీరు. సరైన దారి చూపేది BeReady", meaning "You are the one who works hard. BeReady shows the right path." The same day brought "Nanna Nammakam" (a father's trust). By Nov 6, "Khaki Dream" had 11k views and 7 likes, and "Nanna Nammakam" had 6,200 views and 5 likes. The whole channel has 18 videos and only 3 subscribers (YouTube, 11-06).

Over ten thousand views, single-digit likes, 3 subscribers. That ratio almost only appears with paid-boosted videos. The channel's most-viewed video is a Hindi Short for the bank exam app, posted in Oct 23, with 75k views.

The real surge came ten days later. Cumulative installs for BeReady Constable sat at 29 from Oct 31 to 1,149, rose to 1 on Nov 7,013, added 2 on Nov 11,094 alone, then reached 3 by Nov 22,120. After that it added only dozens a day, ending at 6 on Nov 23,154 (Google Play).

### What it is

The store page is direct: it helps you prepare for the TGPRB and AP SLPRB police constable exams, with notes and questions written in "simple Telugu," and a menu that switches between Telugu and English.

- A 25-question, 25-minute mock test is free. No payment details needed. You get a score, plus "your rank among BeReady candidates."

- Paid access is ₹99 a month (about $1.2), billed through a Google Play auto-renewing subscription. Subscribers get 50 full mock tests each for TG and AP (200 questions, 3 hours, TG negative marking, category-wise cutoffs), past papers with official answers, notes for each exam stage, summary books for social studies/science/maths from grade 6 to 10, 20 new questions a day, current-affairs questions and English practice, plus an 8-week running plan for the physical test.

- No sign-up, no ads, works offline. The APK is only about 1.2 MB (AppBrain). The same content also opens at constable.bereadyexam.com, which suggests a web app wrapped as an APK (inference).

### Why now

The timing is well judged. The Telangana police recruitment covers about 7,437 posts, with the constable written exam tentatively set for December 20. AP released its notification in September 16, with 2,050 constable and related posts (exam news from testbook, adda247, freejobalert). From late October to December is when hundreds of thousands of candidates in the two states spend most freely and search most actively. BeReady launched in Oct 21 and scaled up in Nov 1, roughly seven to eight weeks before the exam.

### The traffic was pushed, not word of mouth

The strongest evidence is the sister app. The same developer launched BeReady: Bank Exam Prep on the same day in Oct 21, aimed at IBPS, SBI and RRB clerk and PO candidates. Its cumulative installs went 10-29 → 539,10-31 → 6,582,11-02 → 18,097,11-03 → 22,193,11-06 and then stopped at 24,073 (Google Play).

| | Constable | Bank |
|---|---|---|
| Launched | 10-21 | 10-21 |
| 11-02 cumulative | 18,107 | 18,097 |
| 11-06 cumulative | 23,154 | 24,073 |
| Rating (11-06) | 31 reviews, 3.7 stars | 40 reviews, 3.9 stars |

One app sells to people who want to be police constables, the other to people who want bank jobs. Their audiences barely overlap, yet they peaked on the same day and stopped on the same day. Only a traffic switch controlled by the developer can make two curves line up like that.

Other details fit too:

- 23k installs with only 31 ratings, about 0.13%. There is one written review, and it is two emoji (Google Play India, 11-06).

- On the days volume spiked, its rank on the India Education Top Free chart actually fell, from #87-89 to #11-02 in 108 and #11-03 in 164. Google Play's charts don't only count installs: bought installs that get opened once and abandoned don't help rankings (inferred).

- There are traces of Google ads: a sponsored search result reads "BeReady Bank Exam … ✓ 100 mock tests for every exam." From outside, you can't tell whether it used Google App Campaigns, YouTube or incentivised installs, or how much it spent.

- The Instagram account @bereadyexam started posting intro videos from 10-25, at very small volume, nowhere near 20k installs.

- No one on X or in the media has mentioned it.

The Oct 31 update note is one line: "You can now rate BeReady inside the app after finishing a mock test." The rating prompt was added the day before the surge, which probably explains most of the 31 ratings (inference).

### Who's behind it

The developer on the store page is BeReady Exams, with contact email info@conchx.com. ConchX is a UK data consultancy working on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, and its directors have typical Telugu names. In India, a company called CONCHX VENTURE STUDIO HUB PRIVATE LIMITED was registered in Telangana in 2026 (from a search snippet of company registry data; the original page was not opened, not verified).

The site bereadyexam.com went live in Oct 26. Its homepage says "Exam prep in your language, even offline," with three apps below: Constable and Bank, plus a "Coming soon" POLYCET & SSC (Telangana and AP tenth-grade exams). Three subdomains, the same description structure and the same privacy policy suggest one template mass-produced. So BeReady looks more like a studio's production line: pick an exam, build a question bank and notes in the local language, wrap it and ship it, then run several lines at once before exam season and see which one keeps users and brings in money.

### Who it's competing with

Plenty, and all bigger.

| Product | Scale | How BeReady differs |
|---|---|---|
| Testbook | Main app: 54.7M installs | Hundreds of national exams sold together, requires sign-up, has a TG/AP police test series |
| Adda247 | 33.8M installs, has a Telugu YouTube channel | Big platform with top-teacher videos and courses, 288 mock sets for AP police |
| TG Police Constable & SI Prep(HSN Software) | 50k+ (AppBrain) | Similar question banks, split into separate apps by state |
| TS Police Hub(Anvil Edtech) | 1,000+ | Telangana only, includes SI |
| Brolly Solutions | Unknown | Completely free, 176 sets of 2015-2023 past papers and mock tests |
| Vyoma Academy | About 9,500 YouTube subscribers | Long-established Telugu coaching, AP police test series for ₹300 at a time |
| Web-based mock tests from mocknest, openbook247 and others | Unknown | Free or very cheap |

Install figures come from Google Play and AppBrain. At the top are Testbook and Adda247, and the long tail is a crowd of small developers' question-bank apps plus free past-paper sites. BeReady's differences are that it puts two states in one app, writes notes like a Telugu textbook, cuts the price to ₹99 a month, and keeps the package small enough for low-end phones. These are real product choices, but there is no evidence yet that people stayed because of them and paid.

### Does the business add up?

Its paid numbers aren't visible from outside, so this is a rough estimate. Assume 23k installs with 1% paying ₹99 a month. That's 230 payers and about ₹23k, roughly $270, before Google takes its 15% cut (estimate). A user typically pays only until the exam, one or two months. And the 20k installs were themselves bought. Looking at the Constable line alone, it's hard to make the numbers work. The play is to use one template to cover several exams, spread the content cost, and bet that one line converts well.

The window is also short. The TG written exam is in December 20. Once it's over, these users no longer need the app, and the next recruitment means waiting for a new notification.

### If it were you

**Verdict (C)** : you can learn a cheap playbook here, but following it step for step isn't very profitable. The "local language × one government exam" slot is already occupied by Testbook, Adda247 and a crowd of small question banks. BeReady itself hasn't proven it can collect money: after the push, daily installs fell to a few dozen, the rating is 3.7, and there isn't a single substantial review.

**Who it suits** : people whose first language is a regional one such as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada or Marathi, who have taken or taught a local civil service exam and can judge whether questions are right. Also small teams that already have exam content and want to open several lines cheaply.

**Who it doesn't suit** : people who don't know the local language or exam syllabus and want to generate question banks with AI alone. Candidates uninstall as soon as they hit wrong answers, and free past-paper sites are everywhere in this category. It's also a poor fit for anyone wanting one app that earns long-term subscriptions, because users leave once the exam is over.

**How to do it** : don't just copy the exam BeReady is already doing. Look for exams without a decent local-language product, such as a state teacher eligibility test, village-level civil service posts, or electricity or transport department recruitment, and work backwards from the official notification date. On content, make past papers and official answers accurate, since that is the reason to pay. Use a free mock test plus post-test ranking as the hook, a move BeReady has already shown works. For pricing, try a one-off exam-season pass that lasts until exam day, which fits candidates' mindset better than a monthly subscription.

**How to acquire users** : use YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, telling candidates' stories in the local language (BeReady's "Khaki Dream" and "A father's trust" follow this path), and back them with Google App Campaigns concentrated on a few moments: the notification release, admit card downloads, and the month before the exam. Candidate Telegram and WhatsApp groups are often cheaper than ads and worth testing first.

**When to launch** : follow the exam calendar and go live two to three months before the target exam. For the TG constable exam, it's already too late. Reviews won't build up before Dec 20.

**What would mean we misread it** : ① BeReady's daily installs climb back above a few hundred once paid pushes stop, and ratings keep growing steadily, which would mean the content keeps users on its own; ② its third app, POLYCET & SSC, got its own push after launch, and the other two keep updating, which would mean the first two lines are profitable; ③ a small test budget brings in a paying user for less than two months of subscription fees.

## BeReady: Constable Exam Prep (com.bereadyexam.constable) research report

> In one line: a Telugu-language exam prep app for Telangana (TGPRB) and Andhra Pradesh (AP SLPRB) police constable written exams. 1 mock test is free, the rest is ₹99/month. Verdict: it did not grow organically from word of mouth. A newly founded venture studio, ConchX, pushed its two sister apps (constable and bank) **at the same time and on the same schedule** during the peak prep season before the TG written exam (2026-12-20). Each gained about 21k installs over 4–5 days, and growth then fell to nearly zero. What Stringers saw as a surge is a single paid-acquisition/promo burst, not sustained growth.

### 1. Basic data (Google Play library + AppstoreSpy estimates)

| Date | Total installs | New today | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-21 | — | — | Play launch (app.released), v1.0.2 updated the same day |
| 10-26 | 1,146 | — | AppstoreSpy estimate (app_day_ext) |
| 10-29~10-31 | 1,149 | ≈0 | Flat |
| 11-01 | 7,013 | +5,864 (3 days total) | Starts to scale |
| 11-02 | 18,107 | +11,094 | Peak |
| 11-03 | 22,120 | +4,013 | |
| 11-04 | 23,028 | +908 | Sharp drop |
| 11-06 | 23,154 | ≈63/day | Basically stopped |

- Ratings: the library's ratings field is empty. The Play India page shows **31 reviews** at 11-06 (23k installs, about 0.13%).

- Charts: it only ever charted in India's Education free chart, around #10-29–#11-01 over 87–89. **During the surge it actually fell to #108 (11-02) and then #164 (11-03)** (chart_rank). Play's charts weigh more than install counts, which fits "low-quality or bought installs", but a lag in the charts is also possible. Not verified.

- Pricing: the IAP went from "$3.49–$39.99" to "$3.49 per item" on 11-01 (app_snap). The store description says "25 question mock test free, the rest ₹99/month, auto-renewed via Google Play". No ads (ad_supported=False).

- The APK is only 1.18 MB (AppBrain), and there is also a web version at constable.bereadyexam.com. It's likely a web wrapper (TWA), not verified.

#### The sister app's curve is nearly identical (key evidence)

The same developer's BeReady: Bank Exam Prep (com.bereadyexam.bank), launched the same day as 10-21: 539 (10-29) → 6,582 (10-31) → 18,097 (11-02) → 22,193 (11-03) → 23,845 (11-05) → 24,073 (11-06). Two apps aimed at completely different audiences (police constables vs. bank exams IBPS/SBI) each gained about 2.1–23k over the same period, peaked on the same day and stopped on the same day. That can only be a promo burst the developer controlled, not organic demand for each app. (Google Play app_snap / app_day_ext)

### 2. Who built it

- Developer BeReady Exams, email info@conchx.com, website bereadyexam.com (page published 10-26). It lists three apps: Constable, Bank, and POLYCET & SSC (the last marked "Coming soon"). Selling points: "No sign-up / No ads / Works offline", "Exam prep in your language".

- ConchX: a UK Microsoft Fabric / Power BI data consultancy (conchx.com), Companies House 09916195, director Ratnakar Rao Sudireddy (a Telugu name).

- In India there is also **CONCHX VENTURE STUDIO HUB PRIVATE LIMITED** (CIN U62099**TS** 2026PTC214144,2026, registered in Telangana; Tracxn lists directors Deendayal Mukati and Aravind Voruganti). In short: a UK consultancy owner opened a venture studio in his home state of Telangana to mass-produce "local-language exam apps". (From zaubacorp / Tracxn search snippets; the pages themselves could not be opened.)

- The product format is highly templated: three subdomains (constable / bank / polycet.bereadyexam.com), the same description structure, and the same privacy and terms pages. It looks like batch production with AI assistance plus a web wrapper.

### 3. Why users are coming now (timing)

- TGPRB 2026 recruitment: about 7,437 posts (per Facebook news video headlines). The TSLPRB constable written exam is tentatively **2026-12-20** , with SI (per Testbook and Adda247 news) on 11-29.

- AP SLPRB 2026-09-16 notification out (Rc.No.91/SLPRB/Rect.2/2026), constable and other 2,050 posts (freejobalert, prepp).

- Late October to December is the crunch period for hundreds of thousands of candidates in both states, so this category has ready-made search demand and willingness to pay in this window. The launch date (10-21) and the scaling date (11-01) clearly fall inside it.

### 4. Growth tactics (evidence)

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Concentrated paid/promo bursts (both apps in sync) | Both apps each gained +21k over the same period, peaked on the same day and stopped on the same day. Ratings were very few during the surge, and chart rank actually dropped. | Confirmed as developer-driven bursts; the specific ad platforms are not confirmed. |
| Google Ads (Search / App campaigns) | A google.com/goto sponsored link appeared in Jina search results: "BeReady Bank Exam — Preparing for a bank job? … ✓ 100 mock tests for every exam". The YouTube channel @BeReadyExams posted "BeReady Bank Exam" Shorts with 0 likes, a typical ad-creative setup. | Signs of Google ad spend, scale unknown. Our googleads library did not track it (it is not on the watch list). |
| Instagram owned account + Reels | @bereadyexam, bio link carries `referrer=utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=bio`; from 10-25 they posted multiple Reels for the "BeReady constable Exam Preparation App" | Confirmed active, but the volume is small. It doesn't look like it could drive 20k installs. |
| Meta ads | The metaads library has no record of this Page or landing page. | Not found. The library only tracks its watch list, so not finding it doesn't mean there was no spend. |
| Store search / new-release exposure | AppBrain: "best ranking #5 in Top New Free, Education in India". | New-release chart exposure is confirmed, but it was already there before the surge. |
| X / HN / media / TrustMRR | x-radar: 30 posts over 0 days. No media coverage. | None |

TikTok is banned in India, so it doesn't apply.

### 5. Competitors

| Competitors | Where | Launched | Scale | vs. BeReady |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Testbook (TG/AP Police Constable test series) | Android/Web | 2015 | Main app 54.7M installs (Google Play library) | A nationwide multi-exam platform with bundles covering hundreds of exams, requires sign-up; BeReady only does the two-state constable exams, with textbook-style Telugu explanations |
| Adda247 (APPOLICE 288 mock test sets, Telugu channel) | Android/web/YouTube | 2016 | 33.8M installs (googleplay library) | Big-name platform + YouTube teachers + courses; BeReady has no video or teachers, just a question bank and notes at ₹99/month |
| TG Police Constable & SI Prep(HSN Software) | Android | Not verified | 50k+ (AppBrain) | Similar question-bank apps; HSN also has an AP version (1k+) and an RRB version (719k, library); BeReady's one app covers both states |
| TS Police Hub(Anvil Edtech) | Android/Web | Not verified | 1k+(AppBrain) | TG only, includes SI |
| Brolly Solutions Telangana Police app | Android | Not verified | Unknown | Completely free, 176 sets of 2015–2023 past papers |
| Medha, EduRev Police, Telugu Exams, Competitive Exams Adda, etc. | Android | Mixed | Small | Undifferentiated question-bank/course apps |
| Vyoma Academy | Android/YouTube | Years | YouTube 9.5k subscribers | Long-established Telugu coaching; AP police test series at ₹300 |
| mocknest, openbook247, prepresults, repeatermock | Web | Mixed | Unknown | Free/low-cost web mock tests |

Verdict: this is a **crowded** category. The head is Testbook and Adda247, and the long tail is full of small indie question-bank apps. BeReady is not the first, nor the only Telugu product.

### 6. Differentiation

- Both states in one app, Telugu "textbook-style" notes, plus 6–10 grade Social/Science/Maths summary books (the GS section of the constable exam largely draws from these).

- After each mock test it shows your "rank among BeReady users" and simulates the real exam (200 questions in 3 hours, negative marking, category-wise cutoffs).

- Extras such as a 8-week running plan for the physical test.

- No sign-up, no ads, offline, 1 MB install size, aimed at low-end phones and data-sensitive users.

- ₹99/month, below the entry point of annual packs like Testbook Pass.

These differences are real product positioning, but they are **not the reason it took off this round** . The surge was a promotional burst run in parallel across both apps and unrelated to product content. 31 reviews, a falling chart rank during the surge, and daily installs dropping to double digits after the burst ended all show there is no organic growth yet.

### 7. Takeaways

- The "regional language × government exam" window: work backward from the recruitment notice and exam dates, launch one exam in one or two states, use AI to batch-generate local-language notes and question banks, and ship a web wrapper, at very low cost.

- One studio, one template, copied horizontally across multiple exams (constable, bank, POLYCET), with paid acquisition run in parallel to test which line retains and converts better.

- Pricing: 1 free mock tests as the hook + a low ₹99/month subscription, billed through Google Play.

### 8. Uncertain

- The source of the 20k installs (Google App promotion / incentivized installs / other) is unconfirmed; how much was spent and how much converted to payment is completely unknown.

- Payment rate and retention are unknown; the content of the 31 reviews was not seen.

- The link between ConchX Venture Studio's director and the UK ConchX comes from search snippets; the original pages were not opened to verify.

- Question-bank and notes quality (whether AI-generated, accuracy) is unverified.
