> The developer took a gold-coin engine that had already worked twice and packed it into a QR scanner for the third time. They ran Facebook ads in cheap countries like the Philippines and Brazil with the message "scan and watch the money jump," then moved to a productivity category without the big players. Within one week it got more than 70k installs and charted in 10 countries.

# Scan a supermarket barcode and the money goes up? One scanner app, 40k installs in 150 days, built on a coin template used for the third time

**What it is** A QR / barcode scanner on Google Play wrapped in a coin layer of "daily tasks, claim rewards", earning money from ads.

**Why it took off** The developer put a coin engine that had already worked twice into a scanner for the third time, ran Facebook ads in cheap countries like the Philippines and Brazil with the hook "scan and the money goes up", then moved to the productivity category where no big players sit. It hit the chart in 70 countries after over 10k installs in a week.

**C** **How you could follow it** Don't copy the scanner shell; copy the structure: a reward system that actually pays out part of the time, plus a rewarded-ad engine. Swap the theme on the outside, pick a category the big players haven't claimed for each app, and buy installs in cheap countries with vertical video showing "action → money goes up right away".

C grade: switching categories to chart and the "action → money" creative are worth learning, but the product itself has no barrier. The real asset is a mature coin engine and ad accounts that followers don't have, and the same users are already being fought over by several matrix companies. The tactic of faking payment screens could also get accounts banned by the platform at any time. Still under the radar

An app that does exactly what your phone camera's built-in QR scanner does launched in 2026 Sep 26, and by Nov 6 had 153k installs, 76k of them in the last 7 days. It has no new features and isn't riding word of mouth: a Hong Kong company wrapped the same "tool shell + coins + cash-out wall + rewarded ads" template around a barcode scanner for the third time, ran Facebook ads for "scan product barcodes and earn money," and picked a low-bar category to chart in. Below: how it runs, where the money comes from, what you can take from it, and what to leave alone.

### A Facebook reminder post

Nov 2, a Filipino Facebook user, FX Juliefa Gianan, posted a video whose title starts with "WARNING!". She'd seen an ad for Scan Lark: someone scans everyday grocery barcodes with their phone, and a banner at the bottom of the screen shows euros ticking up one by one, apparently going straight into their account. Her verdict was blunt: "That banner showing money going up and linking straight to a cash account is clearly fake marketing," and "rewards in apps like this are usually worthless points that are notoriously hard to cash out, or can't be cashed out at all."

The next day, Nov 3, a Play Store user named Joshua Mcglawn left a review: "Everything's fine until the withdrawal step. Withdrawing was easy, I emailed to request the redemption, went to check, and there's nothing!!! Can someone explain!!!"

Put those two together and you have the whole story of this app: the ad pulls people in, the coins keep them there, and the withdrawal step is where they find out it's a scam.

### What it is

Scan Lark: QR & Barcode Reader, a QR/barcode scanner on Google Play from developer Byte Journey, backed by Hong Kong company 特水科技有限公司 (Hong Kong Special Water Technology Co., Ltd.), registered 2021 years ago. The first line of the store listing reads:

> Scan easily. Complete daily tasks. Claim your rewards.

—scan easily, complete daily tasks, claim rewards. No in-app purchases, only ads; the privacy policy mentions only Google Ads and Firebase.

| items | Installs (Google Play, 11-06) |
|---|---|
| Total installs | 153,391 |
| New in the last 7 days | +75,847 |
| Rating | 4.6,174 (the store page shows 11-06 of 184 reviews) |
| Category | Productivity |
| Best rank | #29 on the Philippines Productivity Top Free chart (10-30), 11-06 #52 |
| Countries charted | The Philippines, Brazil, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, Canada, Singapore, Argentina, Spain, 10 countries in all |

### The curve comes in waves, like budgets being added in batches

On Oct 10 it had only 1,023 installs; Oct 18 17.6k; on Oct 21 it jumped about 24k in one day; by Nov 2 it was 129k. (The October daily figures come from a third-party estimate, with the change between two observations spread evenly, so single-day numbers are unreliable.)

It doesn't climb smoothly. It moves in bursts: 10-15, 10-17/18, 10-21, 10-25~27, 10-30~11-03. Those bursts add 0.8–24k a day, and the rest of the days are nearly 0. After 11-04 it falls back to about 3k a day. Organic growth doesn't look like this. Stepped paid-acquisition budgets do (inferred).

The ratings are odd too: when I first looked on Nov 3, all 133 ratings were 5 stars. On Nov 5, 22 2-star ratings suddenly appeared, and the 3-star and 4-star counts have stayed at 0. Ratings are only 0.11% of installs, which doesn't look like rewards-for-reviews, but the earliest batch was all 5 stars, so whether they were seeded can't be confirmed from outside. The two top reviews on the store page are "I just downloaded it, it's great" from Oct 15 and "I like this App" from Oct 19, marked helpful by 12 and 7 people.

### Where users come from: Facebook ads, with creatives showing "scan and get money"

The only channel that can be confirmed is paid Meta advertising.

- The Nov 2 warning post above is about the ads it was running.

- A Facebook page called "The Barcode Corner2026", created 0930 years ago, posted a Reel on Oct 11 titled exactly "Scan Lark: QR & Barcode Reader". A numbered page name on a brand-new account looks like one set up to host ad creatives (inference).

- A sister walking-to-earn app, Walk Master, runs ads on Meta through two generic-named pages, "Step Counter" and "Steps Counter". 11-06 have 42 and 119 active ads respectively, 636 in total over time, all with "Install App" buttons. The ad pages for Scan Lark haven't been fully identified, so how many ads it runs and how much it has spent aren't visible from outside.

What can't be found: searching "scan lark" on TikTok turns up only Feishu (Lark) videos; on X there are 30 posts in the last 0 days; Reddit and the media have nothing. In other words, nearly all installs were bought.

One detail doesn't line up: the ads show euros, but among the countries where it charts, only Spain uses the euro (#193). The creatives are probably one set used across many countries (inference).

### Where the money comes from: a withdrawal threshold that always stays just out of reach

The app itself charges nothing; all its income comes from rewarded video and interstitial ads. How it keeps people watching ads: Scan Lark has few reviews of its own, but the first two scanners from the same company spell it out clearly:

- Lens Scan (same company, first listed in March 2026, 1.54M installs): "The ad said $20 for installing", "When it's time to withdraw, they give only 30, 20, 10 points", "You have to save up 10M coins to withdraw, after that they only give decimals" (Play reviews, marked helpful by 45, 29 and 23 people respectively).

- Barcode Beam (same company, the earlier first generation): "I downloaded from their ad, which said you get $20 just for downloading, and I never got it."

- Walk Master: withdrawing to PayPal requires 10M coins, roughly $10; early payouts ran 100k to 250k at a time, while later ones gave only 1 to 3 (a review by fitcoin.co 2026-09-01).

The logic of the math: users are dangled a "$10–20" carrot and keep tapping and watching ads; the threshold gets harder to reach over time, so rewards almost never get paid out; and Meta ads are cheap in countries like the Philippines and Brazil. As long as the money a user earns you from watching ads is more than what it cost to acquire them, the machine keeps turning (inference; no public revenue figures).

The company has 16 apps on Play, about 10M installs in total, the biggest being Walk Master (4.05M) and short-drama app Short Box (3.96M). Its website says it "focuses on developing fun mobile games", and it runs on a 2023-year-old website template.

### Who it's competing with

Scanning is one of the most crowded utility categories on Play, and phone cameras and Google Lens already scan codes. Two groups to compare:

| Name | Launched | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | Versus Scan Lark |
|---|---|---|---|
| QR & Barcode Scanner(Gamma Play) | 2015 | 860M installs, +1.81M in 7 days | Category leader, pure utility, pays nothing |
| QR & Barcode Scanner(TeaCapps) | 2016 | 460M | Established pure utility |
| QR Code Scanner(Smart Choices) | 2025-05 | 5.98M, 7 days +445k | New-generation, paid-acquisition pure utility |
| Lens Scan(Byte Journey) | 2026-03 | 1.54M, 7 days +173k | Previous generation on the same template, listing doesn't mention rewards |
| Barcode Beam(Byte Journey) | Earlier | 100k+ | First generation; the ad promised "$20 just for downloading" |
| TreasureScan(80UGame) | 2025-12 | 458k | The most direct competitor: scan product barcodes for Coins, listed under Entertainment |
| ScanGlow(YiSpark)/ Keenscan(ideas wonderful) | 2026-01 / 2024-09 | 2.52M / 7.31M | A scanner from a company that also runs a stable of "earn money" apps |
| Fetch / Ibotta / Receipt Pal | Years | Receipt Pal 3.23M | The legit version: real brands pay out, mainly US-focused |

"Scan to earn" isn't new, and Byte Journey has already done it three times. Compared with the first two, Scan Lark changed only three things in its packaging: the first line of the listing states the reward plainly; it moved from Tools to Productivity; and the creative went from "get paid just for installing" to "get money when you scan products".

### Why changing categories got it charted

Byte Journey's first two scanners sat in Tools, where the giant Gamma Play with 800M installs dominates. After moving to Productivity, with 76k global installs in a week, it could sit between ChatGPT and WPS on the Philippines Productivity Top Free chart; the neighboring Guitar Tuner added only +23k that week. That chart ranks recent install velocity rather than total volume, and small countries have low thresholds, so a few thousand installs a day can reach the top 100 spots, which also earns some extra exposure in the "New Apps" slots (inference). It also appeared on an Australian "New Free" chart, at #49.

This is the cheapest and most worth remembering move in the whole story: **with the same acquisition budget, choosing a category without a big player can buy you more chart exposure.**

### If it were you

**The verdict** : C. There's a paid-acquisition monetization playbook to learn here, but copying it isn't worth it. The product has no barrier at all; what's valuable is a coin engine that has already worked three times, existing ad accounts, and a creative pipeline, none of which a newcomer has. And the ones competing with it for the same users in the Philippines and Latin America are matrix companies with a dozen-plus apps each, like Byte Journey, YiSpark, ideas wonderful, and 80UGame.

**Who it suits** : small teams already running rewarded-ad apps, with a Meta ad account, who can work out whether a user's ad revenue beats what it cost to acquire them. Two things are useful to you: switching categories to chart; and using a "action → money jumps up instantly" visual in your creatives.

**Who it doesn't suit** : anyone who hasn't run ads and expects organic store traffic; anyone hoping to make it big with a "better scanner" (cameras already scan, and Gamma Play has 860M installs, so there's no room on features); anyone who cares about the long-term safety of their developer account.

**How to do it** : if you want to follow, don't copy the shell, copy the structure: one reward plus rewarded-ad engine, with the theme swapped out (scanning, step counting and water reminders are all ones this company has used); with each release, pick a category the big players aren't in; and if rewards can actually be partly cashed out, state the thresholds clearly. Faking payment screens, promising "$20 just for installing" and never paying it, and raising the threshold over time all violate Google Play's deceptive behavior policy and Meta's ad policies; 16 apps under one developer account means one enforcement action can take them all down together.

**How to acquire users** : Meta ads, targeting countries where acquisition is cheap, such as the Philippines, Brazil, Thailand and Mexico; vertical creatives showing an everyday action followed by money jumping up; several generically named pages to split the spend. Test with a small budget first, and raise it only once you see payback (inference).

**What comes before the deadline** : there's no clear deadline. How long this play lasts depends on when the platform comes to look; Lens Scan's reviews are already full of "scam", people have started calling it out publicly on Facebook, and the window is narrowing.

**What would show I got it wrong** : ① Scan Lark climbs back above 20k a day within the next month and charts in more countries, which would mean this play is more durable than it looks and the rating should go up; ② conversely, Scan Lark, Lens Scan, or another Byte Journey app gets pulled from Play, which would mean the platform has caught on and even a C is too high; ③ someone builds a scanner rewards app that really pays out, with transparent thresholds, and runs it in the same countries, which would mean "scan for cash" has real demand and the opportunity lies in the honest version.

Where users come from

- **Verified** **Facebook / Meta paid ads ("scan barcodes, money goes up" creatives)** : a Filipino user 2026-11-02 posted a Facebook video saying the Scan Lark ad's payment overlay is fake (it shows euros); a newly created page, The Barcode Corner0930 10-11, posted a Reel titled Scan Lark; the same developer's Walk Master is running ads through generically named pages Step Counter / Steps Counter, with 42 and 119 live ads (metaads library)

- **Verified** **"Install and get paid" + coin cash-out wall** : reviews on sister apps Lens Scan / Barcode Beam say the ads promise $10–20 and the rewards shrink as you near the threshold; Walk Master needs 10M coins to cash out $10 (fitcoin.co); a Scan Lark review 11-03 says they applied to withdraw and never got paid

- Inferred **Switching to Productivity to chase small-country charts** : the first two scanners are in Tools, this one is in Productivity; 76k global installs in one week got it into the Philippines Productivity chart at #29–52, plus top 200 in 9 other countries (googleplay library)

- Inferred **Organic content / creators / search** : nothing found on TikTok, X, Reddit, or in the media

## Why Scan Lark: QR & Barcode Reader (com.bytejourney.and.scan.lark) is charting

> Channel: Google Play; developer Byte Journey (legal entity Hong Kong Special River Technology Limited, registered in Hong Kong 2021-10); launched 2026-09-26; research date 2026-11-06.

### Bottom line

Functionally it's an ordinary barcode scanner. It's charting not because of the product but because the same Hong Kong team reused a template it had already validated: a coin-based utility app that "pays $10–20 just for installing" and lets you cash points out via PayPal, acquired through Facebook ads. The ad creative shows scanning grocery barcodes while money ticks up (some users have publicly said the visual is fake). After install, points accumulate more slowly the closer you get to the withdrawal threshold, so users keep watching rewarded ads. Ad revenue covers the paid acquisition. Scan Lark is this team's 3rd scanner (after Barcode Beam and Lens Scan). It differs from the first two in two ways: its store listing openly advertises "daily tasks + rewards," and it sits in the Productivity category. That category has a low bar in small countries like the Philippines, where a few thousand installs a day can get you onto the chart, and the store gives some extra exposure.

### 1. Data (googleplay library, 2026-11-06)

| items | Numbers |
|---|---|
| Total installs | 153,391(11-06) |
| New in the last 7 days | +75,847 |
| Trajectory since launch (AppstoreSpy estimates + this library) | 10-10 only 1,023; 10-14 4,000; 10-18 17,630; 10-21 one day +23,664 → 48,979; 10-27 77,518; 10-31 97,593; 11-02 128,894; 11-03 144,681; 11-06 153,391 |
| Ramp-up pattern | Climbs in waves: 10-15, 10-17/18, 10-21, 10-25~27, 10-30~11-03 each run at 0.8–24k a day, other days near 0; after 11-04 it fell back to about 3k a day |
| Rating | 4.6 / 174 ratings (11-06), ratings are only 0.11% of installs |
| Rating distribution | 11-03 When first captured, all 133 were 5-star; then 11-05 new 22 2-star appeared, while the middle tiers stayed 0([0,21,0,0,152]) |
| Charts | Only on the PRODUCTIVITY free chart: best rank in the Philippines (29, 10-30), 11-06 was 52; Brazil 78, Hong Kong 80, Thailand 103, Malaysia 107, Canada 124, Mexico 124 and 10 countries in total |
| Monetization | Ad-supported (ad_supported), no in-app purchases |
| Version | Essentially no updates after 1.1.08,10-12 |

Beside it on the Philippines Productivity free chart at #52 are apps like Guitar Tuner (7 days, +23k) and PDF Scanner (+547k). Its 76k weekly global installs put it among big apps like ChatGPT and WPS, which shows this chart ranks recent install velocity, not scale, so the bar is very low.

### 2. Competitors: who's doing the same thing

Barcode scanners are one of the most crowded utility categories on Play, and big-tech systems (Google Camera, Lens, Samsung Camera) already include scanning. Grouped into "scanners with rewards" and "plain scanners":

| Name | Where | Launched | Scale (googleplay library 11-06) | How it differs from Scan Lark |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| QR & Barcode Scanner(Gamma Play) | Android | 2015 | 860M installs, +1.81M in 7 days, #1 in Japan Tools | Category leader, pure utility, pays no rewards |
| QR & Barcode Scanner(TeaCapps) | Android | 2016 | 460M, +800k | Established pure utility |
| QR Code Scanner(Smart Choices Limited) | Android | 2025-05 | 5.98M, +445k | New-generation pure utility, paid acquisition, Tools category |
| QR Scanner & Barcode Reader(Start Up) | Android | 2025-10 | 3.44M, +170k, #1 in Singapore Tools | Equally new and paid-acquired, no rewards |
| Lens Scan – Quick Scanner (Byte Journey's own) | Android | 2026-03 | 1.54M, +173k | Previous generation of the same template: the listing only mentions scanning, but the app contains $10 install bonuses and coins; reviews are full of "scam"; in Tools |
| Barcode Beam - QR Scanner (Byte Journey's own) | Android | Older than Lens Scan (exact date unverified) | 100k+, rated 235 4.2 | First generation; a review says "came from your ad, it said download and get $20, got nothing" |
| TreasureScan: Product Info & Coin(80UGame) | Android | 2025-12 | 458k, +28k, #180 in South Africa Entertainment | The most direct equivalent: barcode scanning plus coins; in Entertainment |
| ScanGlow(YiSpark) | Android | 2026-01 | 2.52M, +87k | YiSpark also builds a portfolio of walk-to-earn apps (see the CashStep report), and its scanner uses the same playbook (rewards not checked in detail) |
| Keenscan(ideas wonderful) | Android | 2024-09 | 7.31M | A scanner from a walk-to-earn app portfolio operator |
| Fetch / Ibotta / Receipt Pal / NIQ ScanRewards | Android / iOS | Years | Receipt Pal 3.23M | A legitimate "scan receipts / barcodes to earn" version with a brand behind it, targeting the US |
| Phone camera and Google Lens barcode scanning built in | Big-company features | Early on | Preinstalled | Free, no install needed, just doesn't pay anything |

**Conclusion** : barcode scanning is not a point of differentiation. "Scan to earn" has been done before (TreasureScan, Byte Journey's own Lens Scan and Barcode Beam). Scan Lark differs from these in only two ways: it openly advertises rewards in the listing, and it sits in the Productivity category.

### 3. Growth: where users come from

1. **Facebook / Meta paid ads, creatives are "scan barcodes to earn" (confirmed)**
    - 2026-11-02, Filipino user FX Juliefa Gianan posted a Facebook video warning people: she saw a Scan Lark ad showing scans of everyday supermarket barcodes, with an overlay at the bottom where money (euros) ticks up and goes straight to the balance; she judged it to be a "fake payment interface" (https://www.facebook.com/FXjulie/posts/1653162389843757/).
    - A Facebook page created 2026 years ago, "The Barcode Corner0930", 10-11 posted a Reel titled exactly "Scan Lark: QR & Barcode Reader" (https://www.facebook.com/61594818066315/videos/1109101701486465/). The page name carries a numeric suffix like 0930 and it's newly created, which suggests a page set up specifically to host ad creatives.
    - The same developer's playbook is a useful comparison: in the Meta ad library, Walk Master runs ads through two generically named pages, "Step Counter" and "Steps Counter", with 42 and 119 live ads, 636 in total historically, all with the CTA INSTALL_MOBILE_APP, spanning Facebook / Instagram / Audience Network (metaads library, 11-06). Scan Lark's page isn't on our tracking list, so we can't see its live ad count in the library.
    - The wave-shaped install pattern (10-21 +24k in one day, 10-30–11-03 at 1–16k a day) fits spend released in batches.

2. **"Install and get paid" promise + coins that slow down (confirmed, evidence from sister apps on the same template)**
    - Lens Scan reviews: "the ad said you get $20 for installing", "near cash-out you only get 30, 20, 10 points", "you need 10M coins to withdraw, after that you only get decimals" (Play page reviews, marked helpful by 45 / 29 / 23 people respectively).
    - Barcode Beam review: "downloaded from their ad, it said download and get $20."
    - Walk Master: withdrawing to PayPal requires 10M coins, roughly $10; early rewards are 100k to 250k at a time, later ones 1–3 at a time (fitcoin.co 2026-09-01 review; googleplay library Philippines reviews 10-23/24).
    - Scan Lark's own review (11-03): "everything's fine, but at the withdrawal step you email to request the exchange and get nothing."

3. **Switching to Productivity to win exposure on small-country charts (inferred)** : Byte Journey's first two scanners are in Tools, Scan Lark went into Productivity. In the Philippines, Brazil and Hong Kong Productivity free charts, a few thousand installs a day can reach the top 100, and charting brings "new app" style placements. It also appeared on AppBrain's Australia "Top New Free" chart (#49).

4. **Organic search / content / creators: no evidence** : searching "scan lark" on TikTok only returns Feishu (Lark)-related videos; x-radar shows 0 posts in 30 days; nothing on Reddit or in the media.

5. **Ratings** : ratings are only 0.11% of installs, unlike CashStep, which trades rewards for good reviews (there it's 18.5%). But the first 133 ratings were all 5-star, which is suspicious and may be seeded (unverified).

### 4. Where the money comes from

The privacy policy only mentions Google ads and Firebase, with no in-app purchases (scanlark.bytejourney.net/privacy_policy.html). Revenue is rewarded video and interstitial ads. Reviews say "an ad plays before every tap" (Lens Scan) and "a gambling ad pops up every second" (Walk Master). Users keep watching ads to reach "$10–20", and the rewards almost never pay out because the threshold keeps rising, so ad revenue per user can cover cheap Meta acquisition in countries like the Philippines and Brazil. The company website says it's "focusing on developing funny mobile games" and uses a 2023-year-old template; the developer has 16 apps on Play with about 10M cumulative installs (AppBrain), of which this library tracks 8 apps and 11.9M installs, the largest being Walk Master (4.05M) and Short Box (3.96M).

### 5. Why it works

- **Template is ready-made** : Barcode Beam → Lens Scan (8 months, 1.54M) → Scan Lark. The same "utility shell + coins + cash-out wall + rewarded ads" has worked twice, so the account setup, paid-acquisition creatives and ad accounts can be reused directly (googleplay library; Play reviews).

- **Creatives hook people** : "scan a barcode and get money" takes even less effort than "walk and earn", and it appeals strongly to lower-income users in the Philippines and Latin America (warning post by the Facebook user 11-02).

- **Category arbitrage** : sitting in Productivity sidesteps the 800M-install giants in Tools like Gamma Play, and gets seen on 10 small-country charts (googleplay library charts).

- **Cheap countries picked** : the countries on the charts are the Philippines, Brazil, Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, Argentina and similar places where paid acquisition is cheap.

### VI. Differentiation

The product itself has almost no differentiation: scan features are everywhere, and reward mechanics have been done by their sibling 80UGame too. If there's any difference, it's in **packaging and positioning** : the first line of the listing now reads "Scan easily. Complete daily tasks. Claim your rewards.", it moved to the Productivity category, and the creatives swapped "install and get paid" for "scan products, earn money." These packaging changes may pull a bit more organic traffic out of the bought installs, but the reason it took off is mainly paid acquisition plus the coin-template engine, not the product.

### 7. Visibility and copycats

- Visibility: almost nobody knows about it yet. No public revenue numbers, no press coverage, no one talking about it on X or TikTok; just a Facebook reminder post from one Filipino user and a few listings on APK sites.

- Copycats: I haven't seen anyone specifically copying Scan Lark. But the "scan + coins" template has been around for a while: 80UGame's TreasureScan, Byte Journey's own 3 apps, and YiSpark and ideas wonderful, which build walk-to-earn matrices, also ship scanners (I didn't check whether they added rewards).

### 8. What others can learn from it

- What's worth borrowing: a tool shell (scanner, step counter, phone finder) with a new theme on top of the same "coins + rewarded ads" engine; launching each new app in a lower-barrier category at the same time; ad creatives that show an instant "action → money" payoff; and spreading spend across a pile of generic-named pages.

- What not to copy: fake payout screens in ads, promising "$20 for installing" that never gets paid, and withdrawal thresholds that keep climbing. These break Google Play's deceptive behavior policy and Meta's ad policies. The reviews already have plenty of "scam" complaints, and with 16 apps under the same developer account, they'll all get banned together once something blows up. How long this model lives depends on when the platforms come looking.

### 9. What I'm still unsure about

- How many Meta ads Scan Lark is running, which countries they target, and how much they spend (the advertiser page isn't on our tracking list). We also have no record of TikTok ads in Europe (nothing found in the tiktokads library).

- The ads show euros, but none of the charting countries are in the eurozone (only Spain ranks, at 193), so the creatives may be used across multiple countries.

- How much reward the Scan Lark app actually pays out, what the withdrawal threshold is, and whether it truly never pays: I haven't installed it to test, so this is inferred from sibling apps.

- Whether the first 133 5-star ratings were seeded.

- Whether it's connected to 80UGame (TreasureScan, Scan Go): the two companies' apps appear side by side on AppBrain's page, but that's only a lead.

- AppstoreSpy's daily install increments are averaged across the gap between two observations, so single-day figures aren't reliable.
