A blood sugar log that bought 40k installs in a week: how an Indian app factory stormed the Gulf health charts
What it is A free notebook for manually logging blood sugar, blood pressure and pulse, plus medication reminders. It has ads and doesn't measure anything itself.
Why it took off A new package from an app factory around Rajkot, India. Its title copies a同名 hit, and paid ads on Meta and other channels started in late October. It pulled in 40k installs in a week, and it was placed in the Gulf health free chart, where the entry bar is low, to get exposure.
CHow you could follow Don't build the 57th English notebook. If you want in, go where the template falls short: ads that don't mislead, exports a doctor can actually use, data that syncs with glucometers and BP monitors, and local-language support the factories ignore. Then grow through ratings slowly. It's a slow path with thin margins.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-10-01 · 11-07 installs 41,480
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-30 → 2026-11-07 (9 days, 9 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
On Google Play there's an app called "Blood Sugar Care: BP Tracker". It launched 1, had only about a hundred installs by late October, and by 6 November it had 41k, ranking #10 in the health & fitness free charts in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It has not a single rating. Its name nearly copies a 25M-install hit, and behind it is a cluster of studios in Gujarat that mass-produce utility apps. Below: how it got going, where the money comes from, what gaps remain in this category, and why it's worth understanding but not worth copying.
A video with 1,600 views
On 2026 October 23 at 3:46 p.m., a personal Facebook profile called "Lý Lệ" posted a vertical video with an English title: "Your Body Sends Signals Every Day — Are You Listening?" Below the video was not the person's own product but an app link: Blood Sugar Care: BP Tracker. By 6 November, the video had 1,600 views and 2 likes.
The profile name is Vietnamese, the category is "Reel creator" / "Gaming video creator", and it has nothing to do with blood sugar. This is a common way these studios buy traffic: borrowed or purchased personal accounts post links and run Meta ads (inferred). A week or so later, the app's install count started climbing.
What it is
A manual logbook. The store page is clear: you measure with your own glucometer or BP monitor, enter the numbers, and it stores them, charts them by day / week / month, and lets you share them with your doctor. It logs blood sugar (fasting, before meals, after meals, bedtime; supports mg/dL and mmol/L), systolic / diastolic pressure and pulse, medication reminders, plus "large text, log an entry in a few taps". Free, with ads, no in-app purchases.
The store page ends with a bolded "Important" note: this is not a medical device, it doesn't measure blood sugar, blood pressure or heart rate, it only stores numbers you enter by hand. This note matters, we'll come back to it.
How the 40k installs happened
Start with the numbers (third-party install estimate; the Google Play store page for 11-06 shows "10K+"):
| Date | Total installs | Added that day |
|---|---|---|
| 10-30 | 102 | — |
| 11-01 | 1,588 | +1,486 |
| 11-02 | 8,877 | +7,289 |
| 11-03 | 19,556 | +10,679 |
| 11-05 | 33,097 | +13,541 (two-day total) |
| 11-06 | 41,480 | +8,383 |
Mid-to-late October it was single digits a day, then Nov 1 it jumped, and since then it's been 7,000 to 10,000+ a day, +41k a week. At the same time 0 ratings, 0 reviews: forty thousand people installed it and not one rated it. Users who find an app organically almost always leave some review, so a curve like this plus a 0 rating basically says the volume was bought and the intent is low (inference). What's visible is the Meta video above; whether Google app ads were run can't be checked from outside, unverified.
After it took off, it charted in the Health & Fitness Top Free chart in 18 countries. 11-06 rankings: UAE 10, Saudi Arabia 10, Italy 33, Singapore 33, Turkey 35, Malaysia and Vietnam 51, Sweden and the Philippines 58, Germany 60, India 63, UK 114. It never charted in the US.
Why could +40k a week get it into the UAE top 10? Because the Gulf health category charts have a very low bar. On the same day, in the UAE chart's top 15, other apps had weekly installs ranging from a few thousand to millions (Google's own Health Connect was +3.14M a week). Its volume was spread across a dozen-plus countries, none of them large, but in the low-bar markets it was just enough to reach the chart. Once charted, it picked up a bit more chart exposure and search exposure.
Who's behind it
The developer name on the store page is CabTech International, the address is a factory unit in Phase 3 of the GIDC industrial area in Jamnagar, the phone is a UK number, and the support email is a personal gmail. Online, a company with this name at this address is an LPG valve manufacturer founded in 2021 (Justdial, LinkedIn). This developer account only became active 2026 years ago, has just two apps, the other being an AI photo editor. A valve factory doesn't look like the kind of place that builds a blood sugar app itself; it's more likely an organizational account opened under a real company's name (inference, unverified).
The lead is in the developer website field: qtonzdev.in. The same domain is also attached to other developer accounts, such as Nikita Infotech's screen-mirroring app (5 weekly 1.03M installs), a GPS app and a caller-ID app. "Qtonz" is an outsourcing and in-house app studio in Rajkot founded around 2012 years ago; the related QZEE GAMES LLP was registered in 2024, and at least 12 developer accounts using its domain published, in a dense run from 7 through September of 2026, apps for satellite maps, WiFi, screen mirroring, short drama, palm reading, IPTV and PDF, many with hundreds of thousands of installs and 0 ratings (company registration data from zaubacorp and tracxn).
In other words, this isn't one developer that built one app. It's a factory opening a new package: several accounts and package names per category, each buying a week of volume, watching retention and ad revenue, scaling what works and dropping what doesn't.
Who it copied from
It copied PRK APPS LLP's "Blood Sugar Care: BP Monitor," differing only in the last word of the title (Monitor swapped for Tracker). 25.4M installs, still +68k that week 11-06. PRK APPS is also in Rajkot.
The three most-liked reviews on that older hit's store page all say the same thing:
"It calls itself a 'blood pressure monitor,' and only after you install it do you find out it isn't. You have to measure with a real BP cuff and type the numbers in. Assuming you can get past the ads, many of which are designed to look like the app's own buttons." — Melissa, Google Play, 2026-08-26,156 people found this helpful
"The ad says you can measure with your phone. You can't. Pure clickbait." — Alien, Google Play, 2026-09-26,89 people found this helpful
"Stuck on the language selection page, probably because of the ads. Now it's just a scam that squeezes ad impressions." — The MythMaker, Google Play, 2026-08-29,250 people found this helpful
Rating 3.9. Users are lured in by ads promising "measure blood pressure with your phone," find it's just a logbook, and then get driven off by a screen full of ads. CabTech's new package puts "not a medical device, does not measure" in the most prominent spot on the store page, which is a lesson learned: safer on compliance and less likely to be delisted, but the functionality is identical to the template.
Where the money comes from
It's ads only. The users are chronically ill middle-aged and older people and the family members who log numbers for them. If they actually use it, they open it every day, so retention is naturally better than a typical utility, and interstitials and banners can pay back day by day. Ad rates in the Gulf and Europe are higher than in South Asia, which may also explain why it targeted those countries (inference). Revenue isn't public, and how much was spent on acquisition and whether it paid back is unknown.
Who it's competing with
How crowded it is: on Google Play, apps published in the last 2026 years with blood / glucose / BP / diabetes in their names total 50.5M installs across 56 apps, and gained +7M in the last 1.45 days combined.
| Product | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Blood Sugar Care: BP Monitor(PRK APPS) | 25.4M installs, +68k a week, 3.9 rating | The template it copies, also in Rajkot |
| BP Care - Pressure & Sugar(Brainy Lab Studio) | 5.11M, +330k a week | Launched in June this year, the hottest new entry in this category this year |
| Blood Sugar Care - BP Monitor(Gruhinee Platforms) | 3.12M, +62k a week | The third app with the same name |
| Health Tracker: BP Monitor(HealthTracker Apps) | 29.5M, +158k a week | The veteran matrix, 2023 years old |
| Blood Pressure Tracker / Blood Sugar - Diabetes App(deepthought.industries) | 97.3M / 25.5M installs, ratings 400k / 68k | The veteran leader from 2021–2022, built up through organic search and ratings |
| mySugr (Roche) | 6.87M installs, 140k ratings | Real diabetes management, connects to glucose meters, monetized through subscriptions |
| Samsung Health, Health Connect, Apple Health | Hundreds of millions | Built into the system, but the manual glucose logging entry point is buried and not the focus |
It's a follower itself: in the same period there was also "BP Glucose Health Tracker," launched in October 15 and gaining +58k a week, and "Blood Sugar & Diabetes Tracker," launched in September 30, using the same playbook. Few people know it; there's no discussion on X, TikTok or Reddit. But in the utility-app crowd, everyone knows this category is a red ocean.
If it were you
C: Worth learning from, not really worth chasing. The need is real: tens of millions of installs have shown that middle-aged and older people want to log blood sugar and blood pressure. But this slot is already the home turf of the Indian factories, dozens of packages competing with the same template and the same acquisition method. New entries win on account matrices and ad budgets, not product.
Who it suits: small studios that already run utility-shell apps, have organizational developer accounts, know how to run Meta or Google app ads, and can afford a test budget of a few thousand dollars a week (estimate). Two things are useful for you: on the Gulf health chart, a few tens of thousands a week is enough to reach the top 10, which can serve as cold-start exposure; and chronic-condition logging has high retention, which suits pure ad monetization.
Who it doesn't suit: indie developers hoping to slowly build users with one product. The features can be written in a week, the moat is zero, and organic search spots are held by veterans from four or five years ago and by templates with tens of millions of installs. Without paid acquisition, a new package is invisible.
How to do it: if you must enter, don't make the 57th English logbook. Do the parts these factories don't do well. The template's negative reviews are clear: users hate "the ad says you can measure, but you can't" and "ads disguised as buttons." An honest logbook with restrained ads, large text, one-tap export for doctors, and the ability to read BP and glucose readings synced from Health Connect, plus a local language these factories ignore (inference: markets like Arabic, Turkish or Vietnamese, where they only made English store pages), can slowly climb organic search through ratings and word of mouth. This path is slow, ad revenue is thin, and you need to be ready for that.
How to acquire users: the factories' playbook is Meta short videos with generic "your body sends signals" hooks, plus cheap-country buys. If you want the honest version, make the creative say "log it in one tap after measuring, show your doctor at month end," target adult children logging numbers for their parents, and put "does not measure, only records" at the top of the store page. The trade-off is fewer one-star reviews.
Is there a window? No obvious one. This slot has no platform loophole to exploit and won't suddenly close; it will only get more crowded.
What would show this read was wrong: (1) Installs keep rising for weeks after this app stops buying and ratings start appearing, which would mean Gulf chart placement and search really do deliver organic volume and the cold-start play is better than it looks; (2) Google Play starts mass-delisting health apps whose titles say Monitor but don't measure, clearing out the template class and opening room for an honest logbook; (3) The reverse: installs drop to a few hundred a day in mid-November and never recover, which would mean this was just a test buy, it didn't pencil out, and even the factory gave up on this slot.

Why Blood Sugar Care: BP Tracker (com.cabtech.bloodsugar.care.bp.monitor) got traction
In one sentence: this is a manual blood sugar and blood pressure logging tool from the "app factory" around Rajkot, Gujarat (the Qtonz / QZEE GAMES group), published under a borrowed or newly opened developer account (CabTech International). It has ads and no in-app purchases. It copies a proven hit template with an almost identical title. Paid acquisition began at the end of October (the Meta ads are visible), pushing about 40k installs a week, and it reached #10 on low-bar health category charts in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It worked because of its distribution playbook, not its product.
1. Basic data (googleplay library, 2026-11-06)
- The store launch was version 2026-10-01,10-08; it was updated to 1.2 between 1.1,10-31 and 11-01; it has ads (ad_supported = True) and no in-app purchases.
- Install curve (AppstoreSpy estimates plus our observations): from 10-14 to 10-26 about 7 a day, cumulative 102; from 10-27 to 11-01 about 250 a day; a sudden surge starting 11-02: 11-02 +7,289,11-03 +10,679,11-05 +13,541 (two days combined), 11-06 +8,383. Over 41,480,7 days in total +41,378.
- 0 ratings, 0 reviews: 40k installs and not a single rating, which means the traffic was mostly bought, low-intent, not organic.
- Charted: only in the Health & Fitness category chart, Top Free. 11-06 ranks: AE 10, SA 10, IT 33, SG 33, TR 35, MY/VN 51, SE/PH 58, DE 60, IN 63, GB 114... across 18 stores in total. The US store has never charted it. 10-30 first showed up in the IN 172 and SA 195 stores, then climbed in AE from 60 to 10.
- Bar comparison: 11-06 sits in the UAE Health & Fitness free top 15, while other apps in that chart add thousands to millions per week (Health Connect +3.14M). It added 41k a week and still ranked #10, so the Gulf category chart is a low bar, and its volume is spread across several countries (googleplay library, v_chart).
2. Who's behind it
- The developer name is CabTech International. Searching it online mostly turns up an LPG valve maker in Jamnagar (Justdial, LinkedIn, founded 2021), which has nothing to do with apps. AppBrain shows this account "active since 2026, 2 apps". The other is Artloom: AI Photo Enhancer (the privacy policy at sites.google.com/view/artloom names CabTech as the publisher).
- The developer website is qtonzdev.in, and the contact email is a personal gmail (sanjubaba8485@). The same domain also hosts Nikita Infotech (Cast to TV, 5M installs in 1.03 weeks, +227k a week), Oregon Coast App LLC (GPS Tracker, 238k), Trusted Caller ID and others. The contact email is [email protected] (googleplay library).
- "Qtonz" is Qtonz Infosoft from Rajkot, a contract and in-house app company founded in 2012/2013 (it also runs Qtonz Games Studio and Qtonz Global). Its linked entity, QZEE GAMES LLP (registered 2024-05 with the Ahmedabad registrar, address in Rajkot; email qtonzgamestudio@), uses the domain qzeegames.com. Our library shows at least 12 different developer names tied to it (MBit Music, Lovo Software, Austin Devs., Sai Jyothi App, Vuay Online Services, PK Master, NITESH...). From 2026 to September 7 it pushed a batch of apps covering satellite maps, WiFi, screen casting, short drama, palm reading, IPTV and PDF tools. Many have hundreds of thousands of installs but 0 ratings (googleplay library; zaubacorp / falconebiz / tracxn).
- Bottom line: this is a typical Indian tool-app factory matrix, with one category spread across many accounts and package names, each account betting on a few apps. The CabTech account name looks borrowed or bought (inference, unverified).
3. Competitors (who else does the same thing)
An extremely crowded category. In the googleplay library, the apps first published in 2026 with blood / glucose / BP / diabet in the name number 56, with 50.5M installs combined and +7M in the last 1.45 days.
| Product | Platform | Launched | Scale (googleplay library, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Sugar Care: BP Monitor(PRK APPS LLP,q7godev.in) | Android | Old package, store date 2026-08-19 (reset) | 25.4M installs, +68k a week, 1,677 rating | The template it copies: the title differs only in the last word, and the developer domain follows the same pattern (q7godev.in / qtonzdev.in). Likely the same circle. |
| Blood Sugar Care - BP Monitor(Gruhinee Platforms) | Android | 2026-06 | 3.12M, +62k a week | A third namesake, same infinitytoolsllc.com matrix |
| BP Care - Pressure & Sugar(Brainy Lab Studio) | Android | 2026-06 | 5.11M, +330k a week | The hottest new entry in this category this year |
| Blood Sugar - Diabetes App / Blood Pressure Tracker (deepthought.industries, under the "QR Code Scanner." account) | Android | 2021–2022 | 25.5M / 97.3M installs, ratings 68k / 400k | Veteran leader, with organic search and rating build-up |
| Health Tracker: BP Monitor(HealthTracker Apps) | Android | 2023 | 29.5M, +158k a week | Established matrix player |
| Blood Sugar Logger (Fergus Games), Daily BP & Sugar Tracker (BUSSID), BP Glucose Health Tracker (PAO LABS, on 10-15, +58k a week), etc. | Android | 2026-04 to 10 | Tens of thousands to 1.6M | Bulk netlify subdomain matrix, same playbook |
| mySugr (Roche) | Android/iOS | 2013 | 6.87M, 140k ratings, has in-app purchases | A real diabetes management tool, connects to glucose meters, earns through subscriptions |
| Big-platform features: Samsung Health, Google Health Connect / Fit, Apple Health | System | — | Hundreds of millions | Free and built in, but buried deep in the UI and not built for manual blood sugar logging |
4. Growth tactics
- Meta ad (confirmed): A Facebook video from a page under the name "Lý Lệ" (a Vietnamese personal profile / Reel creator, page id 61551578395258) carries the title "Your Body Sends Signals Every Day — Are You Listening?" and promotes Blood Sugar Care: BP Tracker. Published 10-23, 1.6K views (read from the Facebook page via Jina). The timing lands just before installs started climbing 10-27. Running ads through a Vietnamese personal profile is a common pattern for these ad farms: borrowed or bought accounts. Our metaads library only tracks whitelisted Pages and doesn't cover this one, so how many ads were run is unverified.
- Google App ads (inference, unverified): The googleads library has no record of it, and no advertiser entries for Qtonz / QZEE / CabTech, so no conclusion can be drawn. The stepped install growth, 0 rating and simultaneous multi-country category chart placements suggest paid volume from UAC / AdMob cross-promotion or similar.
- Amplification via category charts and store search: the title stuffs in high-search terms like Blood Sugar / Glucose / BP / Tracker. The description is dense with keywords (glucose log, diabetes tracker, BP log, pill reminder). After it climbs past #10 in AE/SA, it picks up some extra chart and search exposure.
- Name piggybacking: the title copies "Blood Sugar Care: BP Monitor", which has 25M installs, changing only Monitor to Tracker, so it shows up right next to the original in search.
- Creators and content: no TikTok content found (TikHub); 0 posts on X (x-radar, 30 days); nothing on Reddit or in the media.
5. Where the money comes from
Ads, no in-app purchases (Appfigures also lists the revenue source as "Ads"). The model is cheap paid acquisition (Gulf, Southeast Asia, India, southern Europe), recouping through interstitials and banners. The target users are older people managing chronic conditions who open the app daily to log readings, so retention is relatively good, and ad eCPMs are higher in the Gulf and Europe than in South Asia. Revenue is not public, and ROI is unverified.
6. Differentiation
Almost none. The features are manual logging of blood sugar, blood pressure and heart rate, plus medication reminders and charts, identical to dozens of similar apps. It even states in its description that it "does not measure, only stores what you enter manually." Only two points stand out: first, its compliance wording is safer than apps that claim to measure blood pressure with the phone, so it is less likely to be delisted; second, it borrows the title of an existing hit. Neither explains its growth. It grew because of matrix-style paid acquisition, plus choosing the Gulf category chart, where the entry bar is low.
7. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: few people know about it yet. It appears only on automated ranking pages at Appfigures, Apptopia and Similarweb, with no media, X or Reddit discussion, and no public revenue. That said, the category itself has been a red ocean for a long time, and insiders know it well.
- Copycats: it is a copycat itself. Similar apps that surged around the same time include PAO LABS' BP Glucose Health Tracker (on 10-15, +58k a week) and Alish Root's Blood Sugar & Diabetes Tracker (on 9-30), among others.
8. What to borrow
- The Indian factory playbook: open multiple accounts and package names in one category, ride the title of a top hit, buy a week of volume to push into small-country category charts, check retention and ARPU, scale up what works and abandon the accounts that don't.
- In the Gulf (AE/SA), Health & Fitness category charts reach the top 10 with only tens of thousands of weekly adds, which makes them useful for chart exposure during cold start.
- Chronic-condition logging tools have naturally high retention and suit ad monetization. Compliance wording ("not a medical device, only records manually entered data") can lower delisting risk.
9. Uncertain
- How much Meta and Google each spent, and whether incentivized installs were involved, is unverified. The 0 rating may come from incentivized traffic, or from a fresh surge with ratings lagging behind.
- Whether the CabTech account is borrowed, bought, or actually connected to the Jamnagar LPG valve company is unverified.
- Whether PRK APPS (q7godev.in) is run by the same owner is unverified; only the domain pattern is similar.
- Will it last: it only started gaining traction a week ago, and 11-06's daily adds have already dropped from 13.5k (two-day total) to 8 thousand, which may be a test buy.
