Turn a photo of your car into a drift video: a small Turkish team's Car Z bought 47k installs in a crowded niche
What it is Upload a photo of your own car and AI generates 5- or 10-second short videos of mountain roads and drifts with a cinematic feel, plus posters and mod previews. You have to subscribe before you can use it.
Why it took off AI car videos are trending on TikTok in Turkey, and ordinary car owners get stuck on writing prompts. It turns each scene into a one-tap template. Most of the volume was bought by TikTok ad-creative accounts switched on and off daily, plus a Turkish-language store page and a rating prompt.
CHow you could follow it Don't build another car app. Copy the structure for a community that loves showing off and won't write prompts (pets, weddings, motorcycles, fan clubs). Pick a small country where TikTok ads are cheap, build in the local language, give a free preview with a watermark, then start charging.

A small Turkish studio made "upload a photo of your car, AI generates 10-second mountain-road, tunnel and drift clips" a one-tap template. It spent only on TikTok ads in Turkey, got 47k installs in a month, and reached #14 on the Turkish Google Play Photography Top Grossing chart. Sounds good, but there are over a dozen apps in this niche, several growing faster, and its growth comes in on-and-off bursts. Below: what it is, why people are paying now, where the money comes from, who's competing, and whether you should follow it.
A five-star one-star review
On Oct 17, 2026, someone left a review of Car Z on the Turkish Google Play page: "Don't download this. Every video costs money, weekly or yearly subscription. I'm giving five stars so everyone who's about to download sees this." By Nov 6, that review had 32 "helpful" votes, the most-liked review on the app.
The second most-liked was a one-star: "It asks for money right away, no trial at all." (9 likes). Further down: "I paid 290 lira for one video, making videos costs even more, total scam" (11-03), and "Paid 270 lira and used it for one week, not worth it" (10-14).
The same page also has plenty of five-star reviews that just say "harika" (wonderful) or "çok iyi" (very good). As of 11-06, it had 3,068 ratings in total, a 4.5 score in the Turkish store, and only 77 reviews with written text.
How does an app that this many people call "all paid" stay on the charts? Start with what it sells.
What it is
The store page is blunt: pick a scene, choose a photo of your car from your album, tap "Generate," and the video is pushed to you when it's ready in the background. The output falls into a few categories:
- Road videos: your car on mountain roads, tunnels, tracks, deserts, snow, or city streets at night, 5 or 10 seconds;
- Action clips: drifts, car washes, tracking shots, truck jumps, hydraulic press crushing the car;
- Mod previews: change color, wheels, or ride height, side by side with the original;
- Posters and photos: drift posters, race-night shots, carbon fiber, anime or Lego styles; you standing on the roof, at a gas station, or next to a private jet; a wedding car with your names on it.
There are no ads and no free tier. To generate anything you first have to subscribe to Pro (weekly or yearly, with credits included), and buy credit packs if you run out. Failed generations refund credits automatically. In-app prices in the Turkish store are 174.99 to 5,899.99 lira (Google Play, 11-06); the US store charges $2.99 to $99.99.
The developer is VIBEPALM, a Turkish software company whose website calls itself a "mobile app studio." On the App Store it also has several new zero-rated apps for prayer, GLP-1 calorie tracking, and daily affirmations. The Android version went up in Oct 7, but its version number is already 4.26.0. Its TikTok account posted a batch of promo videos in May 28. On iOS, a "Car Z" with the same name was previously listed under a Turkish individual developer, and now it can't be found. Inference: the same people tested it on a personal iOS account first, then moved to a company account for Android in October (unverified).
Why people are paying now
Because "AI car videos" are trending on Turkish TikTok, and ordinary car owners can't make them on their own.
The trend has two layers. One is the global "Unforgettable / 24" car transition craze: in October, one Porsche version got 700k views and a Hyundai i30N version got 890k views (TikTok, 11-06). In Turkey it's called "UNO 24 Unutulmaz Araba Trendi" (Unforgettable Car Trend), and tutorial videos get tens of thousands to 300k views. The other is local Turkish "how to make AI car videos" content: a January post from the account @grafikaplani on "how to make a car-falling-in-water video" got 280k views and 1,003 comments, with the method "comment ARABA if you want the prompt." In October it posted "how to make a viral car transition video" with 24k views 127.
A thousand people in the comments queuing for prompts shows people want this, but get stuck at "go write the prompt yourself in Kling." Car Z removes that step: the scene is picked for you, and you just supply a photo.
Where the volume comes from
| Channel | What we saw | How sure are we? |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok ads | The account @carz_tr has 446 posts and only 178 followers. The visible posts all went out on the same day (5-28), rotating three captions: "the best app for car videos," "a video worthy of your car, made now," and "generate road videos in seconds." Each is 15 seconds long with 1,600 to 38k views. This is a typical ad-creative account, not a content account. | Certain |
| Day-switched paid acquisition | Google Play installs: 10-27 to 10-29 barely moved; 10-31 +6,359,11-02 one day, +6,545 another; 11-03 and 11-04 again 0,11-05 with only +1,590. This step pattern looks more like budgets being turned on and off than like word of mouth. | Inferred |
| Store rating prompt | The number of ratings is 6.5% of installs, several times the usual Google Play level. Many five-star reviews are just one or two words, which fits "ask for a rating right after you finish a video." | Inferred |
| Turkish-language store page | The Turkish store listing is called "Car Z: AI Araba Videosu & Foto," built around the local search term "araba videosu" (car video). The whole page is in Turkish. | Certain |
No press coverage, no discussion on X or Reddit, and no sign of creator partnerships. It only charts in one country: #14 in Photography Top Grossing and #23 in Photography Top Free. Its Top Free ranking was at #13 a week earlier (Google Play, 11-06). In October it flashed near #200 on the German and Dutch Photography Top Free charts, most likely ad spillover to Turks living there.
How much it earns
Not much. Cumulative 47,007 installs (Google Play, 11-06), +14,494 over the last 7 days. The third-party tool AppGazers estimates less than $5,000 in revenue in its first month. That model understates downloads, so treat the revenue number as a reference only, but the scale is probably right: the bar for #14 on Turkey's Photography Top Grossing chart isn't high.
Every AI video costs real money to generate, so it can only survive on a hard paywall. The cost shows up in those opening reviews: Turkish users hate paying weekly before they've seen results, and a weekly subscription at several hundred lira (roughly $6 to $7, estimated) is not cheap locally. One-star reviews make up 7% to 14% of all ratings (the histogram differs by store). How many of the paid-acquisition users ever paid, and for how many weeks, can't be seen from outside.
Who it's competing with
| Product | Where | Scale | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Posely: AI Car Photo & Video (Broverse, Turkey) | iOS + Android | iOS Turkish store: 6,156 ratings, Photography Top Grossing 25; Android 190k installs | The closest match: same Turkish-team, same "car photo + video" model, launched half a year earlier |
| ModsTune – AI Car Designer | Android | 624k installs, +7k in the last 68 days | Focused on mod photos, targets Latin America, 13 times Car Z's volume |
| Car Modify: AI Car Designer | Android | Launched 10-26, 10 days in, 55k | Mod photos, growing faster than Car Z |
| Midas / CarDes | Android | 157k / 47k | Same team, more mass-produced apps |
| AI Car Designer Modify & Tune (Turkey), RevMod AI | Android | 350k and 340k, no longer growing | Previous-generation pure mod-photo app |
| Mody: AI Car Modifications | iOS | 6,260 ratings in the US store, Top Grossing across dozens of countries | Around since 2024, the king of iOS mod photos |
| CapCut templates, Kling and other general-purpose tools | All platforms | Very large | The "24" trend already has free CapCut templates; Kling requires you to write your own prompts |
"Car photo to mod photo" was made into a business as early as 2024. In 2026, new Android packages showed up almost every month, and several Turkish teams were building them. Car Z occupies the small slot of "video-first + Turkish language," and even inside that slot Posely got there earlier and is bigger.
If it were you
C: You can learn a playbook from it, but this app itself isn't worth copying. It proves that "vertical community + one-tap video template + single small-market paid acquisition" can work. It doesn't prove there's room left in car videos.
Who it suits: small teams that already have an AI video pipeline and can run TikTok ads and want to try a templated vertical scenario, or people who already have traffic in the car community.
Who it doesn't suit: indie devs who want to launch yet another mod-photo or car-video app in this niche. There are a dozen-plus similar apps, and the ones that mass-produce packages are already in place, plus Posely and ModsTune, which are an order of magnitude bigger. You won't have anything they don't. It's also a poor fit for anyone without a paid-acquisition budget: nearly all of Car Z's volume was bought, and growth stops when spend stops.
How to do it: copy the structure, change the community. Pick a group like cars, who love showing off, will pay for status, but won't write prompts: pets, weddings, motorcycles, fitness before-and-after, fan clubs. Turn the most popular AI video formats on that community's TikTok into fixed scenes, so users upload just one photo. Start in a country where TikTok is cheap and the culture fits, build in the local language, and put the words locals actually search for in the store name. Don't copy the hard paywall: users hate paying weekly before seeing results, so give a free 5-second preview with a watermark first, then charge. You'd likely get half as many bad reviews (inference).
How to get users: have TikTok ad-creative accounts post a steady stream of "your X turned into this" videos while running paid ads. Find tutorial accounts like Turkey's @grafikaplani, the ones where "comment for the prompt" drives engagement. Their comment sections are full of ready-made users stuck at the prompt step. Prompting a rating right after a video is generated is a move Car Z used well.
Before when: Ride the trend and the window is measured in months. Car transition trends like "24" usually peak for one or two months, so to catch this wave you need to be live before December. Switching to a different niche has no hard deadline, but every niche gets flooded quickly.
Signs you're reading it wrong: ① Car Z or Posely still adds thousands of installs a day after December and keeps climbing the charts, and starts charting in other countries. That means the car video slot is bigger than it looks, with room beyond one market. ② The reverse: if it drops out of the top 30 in Turkey's Photo chart by late November, paid acquisition isn't paying back, and this playbook only breaks even in small markets.

A small Turkish studio's hard-paywall tool: upload a photo of your own car, and AI generates a 5/10-second road/drift cinematic short video, plus a poster and tuning previews. In an already crowded "AI car tuning / car photo" niche, it grew in Turkey alone by leaning on video templates (not just tuning images) + Turkish localization + TikTok ad creatives. Scale is tiny: 47k installs globally, AppGazers estimates under $5K monthly revenue.

- Charts: steady only in Turkey. Photo Top Grossing 13~15; Photo Top Free slid from 13 to 23~24. 10-29/30 briefly appeared at 180~200 in the Germany and Netherlands Photo Top Free charts (chart_rank). n_countries_now = 1.
- Rating 4.09, histogram [1★437, 2★87, 3★175, 4★437, 5★1926] (app_snap 11-06). Ratings per install = 6.5%, far above Play's typical ~1%, which suggests a strong in-app rating prompt (or review nudging). 1-star accounts for 14%, normal for a hard-paywall product.
- Monetization: no ads. "Generating requires a Pro subscription first (weekly/annual, includes credits)", plus credit packs sold separately. IAP $2.99–$99.99 (Turkish store page description, website car-z-app.netlify.app).
- Third-party estimate: AppGazers estimates 10-07~11-06 downloads, 5.5K–26.8K, revenue under $5K (modeled, appgazers.com/reports/apps/android-com.carz.vibepalm). Our library's measured installs are higher than its range, so the revenue estimate is only moderately reliable.
- Our library has no review sample for this app (it's not in the overall top 30).
The launch date was most likely reset, or the product predates 10-07
- Version number 4.26.0 (app_snap). An app "newly launched in Oct 7" wouldn't be at 4.x.
- TikTok account @carz_tr (display name CarZ, 446 posts, only 178 followers) batch-posted a set of short videos with the same caption on 2026-05-28: "Araba Videoları İçin En İyi Uygulama (the best app for car videos)", "Arabana Yakışır Video, Şimdi Hazır", "Saniyeler İçinde Yol Videosu Oluştur". Individual views 1.6k~37k (TikHub).
- iOS once had a same-named "AI Car Photo Editor: Car Z" (id6759519351, personal developer account AHMET SALIH YALCIN, privacy policy hosted on bolt.host, appbrain showed 46 ratings). iTunes lookup now finds nothing in us/tr/ng/gb, so it's been delisted or transferred. Ahmet Salih Yalçın is an individual Turkish developer with several small apps including Carify, Netify (YKS), Animal Passport, Fridge Buddy, and Vantakit (App Store / search results). VIBEPALM also has newer apps on the App Store with zero ratings: Hilal (prayer), Palmi (GLP-1 calorie tracker), and Anora (daily affirmations). Its website vibepalm.com calls itself a "mobile app studio". Inference: the same small Turkish team tested on an iOS personal account first, then in October moved the Android version under the new company account VIBEPALM. (Inferred, unverified)
- A Sensor Tower search snippet shows "Car Z: AI Araba Videosu & Foto" at #20 in Turkey's Android Photo chart (URL date parameter 2026-06-01, but the snippet may reflect the page's current content; unverified).

| Turkish "AI car video" tutorial accounts on TikTok (@grafikaplani and others, 80k–280k views per post) | Item | 2026 | – | They teach people to make these with Kling and similar tools, and the comments ask for prompts. It proves demand exists and that the barrier is the prompt. |
Verdict: no unique category. "Car photo → AI-modified image" has been a standard formula since Mody, 2024 years ago, and new Android packs appear every month in 2026. Several have grown much faster than Car Z (ModsTune, Car Modify, Midas). Car Z's only real niche is "video-first + Turkish language."
3. Growth tactics
- TikTok paid-ad creatives (high confidence): @carz_tr has 446 posts and 178 followers, with identical captions posted in batches on the same day. That is a typical ad-creative account (Spark Ads or bulk uploads), not an organic content account. The market is Turkey (Turkish captions). Our tiktokads library only covers European ads, so not finding it there does not mean it isn't running.
- Stair-step install curve: daily installs jump between 0 and 3k+ (AppstoreSpy estimate plus our library). That matches a paid-acquisition pattern of switching budgets on and off by day.
- Turkey's car culture plus the AI car video trend (timing): in mid-2026-10, Turkish TikTok saw heavy spread of "24 / UNO Unutulmaz Araba Trendi (memorable car trend)" and "how to make AI car cutscene videos" content (50k–1M+ views per post, via TikHub). Car Z's pitch, "5/10-second highway/tunnel/drift videos," fits that demand. However, I found no evidence it partnered with any of these creators.
- Store rating prompt: a 6.5% rating rate, and the high rating count lifted store conversion.
- Localization: the store name in Turkey is "Car Z: AI Araba Videosu & Foto," with full Turkish descriptions in 27 languages. The keyword "araba videosu" likely captures local search (inferred).
- Not found: X, Reddit, HN, media coverage, or TrustMRR revenue posts (x-radar, Jina, and Exa all returned nothing).
4. Why it took off (really just a "small hit")
- It uses video models like Kling or Veo to turn "my car driving on a mountain road, through a tunnel, or on a track" into a one-tap template. That's a lower barrier than general AI video tools. Lots of people on Turkish TikTok ask for prompts, which shows that's exactly where ordinary car owners get stuck.
- A single-market bet on Turkey: strong car mod and car video culture, cheap TikTok traffic, and local teams who know the language. Posely, Modyfy, and MOBIVERSITE are all Turkish teams, which suggests this is a popular playbook in Turkish dev circles.
- A hard paywall, a weekly subscription, and credit packs. AI video is expensive to run, so this is the only way to charge for it. Top Grossing spots 13–15 in Turkey's photo category are a low bar, and the absolute revenue for that rank may be only a few thousand dollars a month (AppGazers < $5K).
- Growth was bought: a stair-step curve plus ad-creative accounts. After 11-03, daily installs fell to ~500, and the Top Free rank kept sliding.
5. Differentiation
Compared with the many "AI car mod" apps, Car Z puts video first (road, drift, car wash, hydraulic press, pickup jump, and other action templates). It adds Photo Lab-style posters, "person + car" flex photos, wedding cars, and police chase scenes that are easy to share. That's a slightly different product, but Posely, CarVerse, and Carzie also do "car photo + video," so the differentiation is thin. It gained traction in Turkey mostly through ads and localization, not because of its differentiation.
6. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: almost nobody knows about it. There's no media, X, or Reddit discussion and no public revenue. Only auto-generated pages from AppGazers and appbrain exist.
- Copycats: it isn't the copycat here, but in late October, Car Modify (10-26) and CarDes (10-27) launched in the same niche and grew faster. The whole "AI car" niche is now being flooded with bulk releases.
7. Takeaways
- "Vertical audience + one-tap video template": package a general video model around one hobby community (cars, pets, weddings), where users only upload one photo.
- Prove it in one small market first: pick a country where TikTok is cheap and the culture fits (Turkey), then bulk-run local-language store names and local creative accounts.
- Hard paywall, weekly subscription, and credits, with automatic credit refunds on failed generations to cover video costs.
- Test on an iOS personal account first, then move to a company account for Android (inferred).
8. Uncertain
- Real revenue and ROI: the chart rank in Turkey's photo category is a low bar. AppGazers estimates < $5K/month. Whether paid acquisition pays back is unknown.
- History before 10-07 (why the iOS version was removed, and whether old Android packages exist) is unverified. The date on the Sensor Tower June chart summary is also unverified.
- No direct evidence found on which ad platforms beyond TikTok it uses (Meta or Google UAC).
- Whether the sharp drop in growth after 11-03 is from paused spend or creative fatigue still needs watching.
