Putting a pet that has passed back on your phone: how the Korean small app 포켓펫 reached the bestseller charts on the "Rainbow Bridge" emotion
What it is A Korean pet-raising app: upload a photo of a cat or dog, and AI generates a pixel pet that looks like it. You can feed it, clean up after it, decorate its room, play mini-games, get a letter from it every day, and raise it together with the whole family.
Why it took off It targets people who have lost a pet (in Korean, "crossing the Rainbow Bridge") and turns a one-time mourning into a daily raising game that people come back to. Users mainly come from Instagram, through ads targeted at pet owners and creator partnerships.
BHow you could follow it Move to the English-speaking market and do the same combination for the "rainbow bridge / pet loss" audience: photo generation that owners recognize as their pet, a daily letter, shared raising, acquisition through UGC-style Meta ads, and no head-on fight in Korea or Japan.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-07-31 · 11-07 installs 63,104

포켓펫 (PoketPet) is an app from a small Korean team: upload a photo of your own cat or dog, and AI generates a pixel mini-pet that looks like it. Every day you feed it, clean up after it, decorate its room, and at midnight you get a letter from it. It hasn't been covered by any media. Its Google Play installs are only 63k, yet it has hovered around #40 on Korea's Lifestyle bestseller chart. Much of the review section is about the same thing: the one who already left has come back. The playbook is worth learning, but it doesn't make much money right now, and growth is slowing, so it's too early to treat it as proof of a money-making model.
"Ddangkong went to the cat star, day 88"
2026 Sep 19, someone on the Korean App Store gave포켓펫 five stars, with one line in the review:
"땅콩이가 고양이별로 간지 88일이네요. 이런 앱을 더 빨리 알았더라면 더 좋았을텐데.." (Ddangkong has been at the cat star for 88 days already. It would have been better if I'd found this app sooner...)
The Korean pet-owner community calls a pet's death "crossing the Rainbow Bridge" (무지개다리); a dog that has died has gone to the "dog star" (강아지별), and a cat to the "cat star" (고양이별). In 포켓펫's reviews, these terms come up more often than "cute". One review from Aug 5 is titled "펫로스 필수어플" (a must-have app for pet loss): "The kid who was only in photos is moving again, writing to me, greeting me. I've cried many times and been comforted many times. This isn't an app that makes you forget; it's one that keeps you remembering longer." Another from Oct 30: "I was so sad after sending it to the dog star, and now I can get its letters and watch it run around on the screen."
What it is
When you open the app, you first upload a photo of a cat or dog, and AI generates a pixel-style mini-pet, with the store page saying it matches even the "face, markings, and eye color." After that it follows the Tamagotchi formula: it gets hungry, dirty, and sleepy, so you feed it, clean up, and lull it to sleep. You earn points to buy furniture and decorate the room, and furniture and toys you photograph yourself can become props too. One room theme is called "Heaven." The mini-games grew from 4 to 8.
What actually keeps people coming back is two things: one, a new question every day at midnight, which you answer and it replies to; two, invite codes, so a family or a couple can raise the same pet together. The Oct 29 update also added "AI 포켓사진관" (generates themed portraits and short videos from pet photos), home-screen widgets, and on Android your pet can walk around on top of other apps.
Money comes from two places: in-app purchases (Play lists single items at $0.99–$36.99) and rewarded video ads. Users complain specifically: "feeding requires watching ads" (9-30), "too many ads, is there no ad removal?" (8-27), "delete the pet and regenerate, you make me pay" (10-30). The first pet generation is free; regenerating, feeding currency, decorations and photo shoots are paid.
On Play the developer is called EVEAI, based in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, with a Gmail contact address; in Meta ads the founder calls themselves "포켓앱스 대표" (PoketApps CEO). iOS launched in Jul 27; the earliest review is from Jul 30; the Play version went live in late July.

| 11-06 | 63,104 | 45 | 74 | 48 |
(Google Play and App Store daily data, 11-06)
- About 6,275 new installs per day over 7 days, around 900 a day. But it's slowing: the 10-31 spike jumped 2,145,11-05 and then dropped to 817.
- Not prominent on the free charts: ranked #85–#146 in the Korea Lifestyle chart and #140–#184 in Japan, both trending down.
- Discount the grossing rank. On the same day, among #39–#50 in Korea's Lifestyle Top Grossing, some apps had only a few thousand or even a few hundred installs, so the bar for this chart is low. A ranking of 40 means "steady revenue," not big revenue; estimate a few thousand to over $10K a month (inferred, not verified).
- Charted only in the Korea and Japan stores. iOS volume is clearly smaller than Android: the Korea store has 48 ratings at 3.8 stars.
Where users come from
Paid ads on Instagram are the main channel. Searching "포켓펫" in the Meta Ad Library (Korea, 11-06) shows 12 ad sets running: one batch started in Oct 16 (widgets, letters, home decor), another in Nov 5 (the big 10-29 update). One ad set is the founder's own account: "I'm also a cat owner of an old cat... while researching pet loss, the sentence I saw most was 'it's okay to grieve fully'... so I made 포켓펫," tagged #펫로스 (pet loss). Another, tagged #광고, is a creator partnership: the Samoyed-and-parrot account "티코랑 윌리" made one for each of their two pets. Users said it too: "I saw it on Instagram ads and installed it" (8-15), "after my dog went to the dog star it was hard, I found this app by chance on Instagram" (9-13). It doesn't appear in the Google Ads Transparency Center.
A TikTok sock-puppet network was tried and didn't work. From Sep 4 to Oct 7, several new accounts with only 1 to 14 followers posted daily videos tagged #포켓펫 using one template: "the cat app that's blowing up right now," "the game that made lots of dog owners cry," "a really tear-jerking app." The best one got 7,568 views; most October videos got 0 to 2 views (TikTok, 11-06). The official Japan account has 2 followers.
What's left is word of mouth and co-raising. A few reviews say "a friend recommended it"; invite codes bring family and partners in, which works mechanically, but no data is visible. On X, nobody mentioned it in 90 days, no media covered it, and revenue is not public.
Why this works
The emotion is targeted right. There are many "pet loss" products: AI letters, AI recreated videos, memorial pages. But they are one-time grief tools, all small. 포켓펫 turns the same emotion into a daily raising game: the pet gets hungry, misses you, writes back, so retention and payment follow the emotion. A review from Aug 9: "letters every day, I open it on a whim and suddenly my nose stings. This isn't just a pet game, it's a conversation."
"Looks like it" works on first sight. The most praised line is "the patterns and expressions are exactly like my kid." Negative reviews also center here: "my dog's one ear is folded, but the generated image has both ears standing up, like someone else's dog, can't keep playing" (9-15), "my kid's body got cut in half, it really hurts" (9-06). For this audience, likeness is the product.
Cheap, precise ads. Only Korea and Japan, only pet owners, with creatives owners themselves would share: before-and-after pixel-pet transformations, creator partnerships, the founder talking about their own cat. Each big update brings a new batch of creatives.
Its weak spots. There is no technical moat: turning a photo into a pixel pet was done by Pex 2023 years ago, and now ChatGPT or Gemini can make one image too. Stats decay too fast, and some complain "I feed it every day and play the game, but my quality of life keeps dropping" (10-03); there are also a lot of ads.
Who it's competing with
| Product | Scale | How 포켓펫 differs |
|---|---|---|
| Pex: Watch face & Pet AI | iOS Korea store, 66 ratings, indie developer, launched 2023 | Also photo-to-pixel pets, on lock screen, widgets, and watch; English market, generic toy, no letters, no co-raising, no pet-loss framing |
| Finch: Self-Care Pet | Play 16.6M installs | Top of virtual pet raising; pets are preset, motivation is self-care |
| PicPet | 59k Play installs, launched 2026-06 | Send photos with friends to feed one shared pet; social widgets, not your own pet |
| Pocket Pet: Our Little Home | iOS US store, 2 ratings, launched 2026-10-15 | Family co-raised lock-screen pet, only preset coat colors, no photos |
| Rainbow AI, 무지개편지, Memoriq, etc. | All small | Pet-loss grief tools: AI letters, AI videos, memorial pages; no daily raising |
| Pawfex, ViralPet and other AI pet portraits | Play 2–70k installs | One-time image and video generation, no raising; 포켓펫 already folded portraits in |
Photo-to-pet and virtual pet raising are not new on their own. Bundling "looks like your pet," "needs daily care," "daily letters," and "the whole family raises it together," and stating outright it's for people who lost a pet, I only see 포켓펫 doing it. English-language "rainbow bridge" and "pet loss" are ready-made phrases, but I haven't seen a product bundling them the same way. The team is also copying itself: in late August they released a couples version, PoketCouple (Q-version figures for two people, same feeding, decorating and letters), which hasn't gained traction yet.
If it were you
One-line verdict: worth trying. Chase the combination of "the user's own pet photo + Tamagotchi-style raising + daily letters + co-raising," moved into English and aimed at people who lost a pet. Don't go head-to-head with it in Korea or Japan.
Who it suits: a small team that can tune image generation so "the owner recognizes their pet"; someone who can make Instagram and Facebook emotional-ad creatives; ideally someone who has owned a pet and understands this audience.
Who it doesn't suit: anyone who only wants a "photo to pixel image" tool (a large model can do one image); anyone who can't handle emotional themes or fears being called "monetizing grief"; anyone counting on free TikTok traffic to grow (it was tried and didn't work).
How to do it:
- Get the first-glance "looks like it" right: multiple photo inputs (front, side, back), and manual edits for details like ears, patterns, and collars. "Looks like someone else's dog" is the most damaging negative review.
- First generation free; put payment on regeneration, feeding currency, decorations, and photo videos. Don't gate the core action of feeding behind rewarded ads; users are complaining about that.
- The daily letter is the core of retention, so write copy as if the pet is speaking. Build the co-raising invite code from day one.
- The English phrases already exist: "rainbow bridge," "pet loss," "my heart dog." Creatives should use owners telling their own dog's story, with before-and-after of the pixel pet next to real photos.
How to acquire users: mainly Meta paid ads targeting pet owners, creatives in UGC style; pay small pet creators for partnerships; pet-loss communities (Facebook groups, Reddit r/petloss) only through real users sharing on their own, no hard selling.
When to move: almost nobody knows this combination yet and the technical bar is low, so building it within the next six months (before the first half of 2027) is the safer bet (inferred).
Signs you've misread it: after one or two months of ads, "looks like it" still tops the negative reviews; or people stop opening it a week after installing and no one reads the letters; or acquisition cost far exceeds what IAP and ads bring back. Look at 포켓펫 itself: if it drops out of the top 100 of Korea's Lifestyle Top Grossing within two or three months, that means the emotion pulls in new users but doesn't keep their money.

One line
A small Korean team, EVE.AI (Play developer name EVEAI, contact 류우영, address in Gu-ro District, Seoul; their Meta ads call them 「포켓앱스 대표」), makes a "photo to pocket pet" app: upload a photo of your cat or dog and AI generates a pixel-style mini pet that looks like yours. You can feed it, clean its litter, decorate its room, play mini games, get a "Today's Letter" every day at midnight, and raise it together with family or a partner via invite codes. It works because it hits the strong Korean 「무지개다리」 (Rainbow Bridge, the pet-loss) emotion: a big chunk of the reviews say "my kid who already left came back." Users are mostly pulled in by paid Meta ads (Instagram/Threads), small creator promotions, and a TikTok alt-account spray; money comes back through in-app purchases and rewarded video ads. Still small: Play installs 63k, iOS Korea store 48 ratings; Korea Lifestyle Top Grossing rank 45 on a very low-bar chart. No press coverage, no public revenue, and not many people know about it yet.
1. Who they are
- Product: Google Play "PoketPet- Always With Your Pet" / Korean name 「포켓펫 - 내 손안의 반려동물」; iOS 「포켓펫 - 손안에서 키우는 나만의 반려동물」 (id6791616317), Japanese name 「ポケットペット - 手のひらの中のペット」 [Play listing; App Store kr page].
- Launch: iOS Korea store release_date 2026-07-27 [appstore library]; Play launch 2026-07-31 (released_reset = true, meaning the store launch date was reset, so the 08-14 shown on the card is not accurate) [googleplay library app table]. The earliest iOS review is from Aug 6 [App Store kr reviews].
- Features [Play/App Store descriptions, official site, 10-29 update notes]: a photo generates a pixel-style pet that looks like your own (App Store says 「생김새·무늬·눈 색까지」: looks, pattern, even eye color); feed, pet, clean litter, lullaby sleep (Tamagotchi-style raising); room decoration (the themes even include 「천국」, heaven); backgrounds and furniture can also be generated from photos; 4 starter mini games, with 4 more added later; a "Today's Letter" every day at midnight: answer a question and the pet writes back; invite-code co-raising; a pet community; in late October they added "AI 포켓사진관" (generate themed photos and videos from pet pictures), plus home screen widgets and an Android floating overlay (the pet walks around on top of other apps).
- Monetization: Play lists "Contains ads" and "In-app purchases," single items $0.99–$36.99 [googleplay library app_snap]; reviews mention watching rewarded ads for rewards [Play kr review 2026-08-30]. Official ad copy stresses "everything from generation to widgets is free" [Meta Ad Library], which suggests the money comes from spending in the raising loop (food/currency/decor), the AI photo studio, and ads.
- The team's second app: 「포켓커플 / PoketCouple - 커플 미니미 키우기 다이어리」 (couple version: AI generates Q-style figures of two people, with the same feeding, decorating, and daily letters), launched on iOS 2026-08-27, Play package name com.woohaha.poketlove [App Store developer page; Play]. They're copying the same template to the couple audience; it hasn't taken off yet (iOS Japan store 0 ratings).

- Review counts: Play Korea 3.8 points, 139 reviews; Japan 143 reviews; iOS Korea 49 ratings at 3.8 stars [Play kr/jp pages; App Store kr page].
- Discount Top Grossing ranks: on the same day, the KR Lifestyle Top Grossing chart 39–50 included apps with installs of 4,036, 1,529, and 561 (위드팬, DayPic, 해군PTSD알람) [googleplay library v_chart 2026-11-06], so this chart has a very low bar. Ranking 45 means "has steady revenue," not "big revenue"; from experience, my guess is monthly revenue in the low thousands to ~$10K+ (unverified).
- Regions: only charted in the Korea and Japan stores (n_countries_now = 2); the store supports Korean plus 5 other languages.
3. Competitors
| Product | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from PoketPet |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pex: Watch face & Pet AI(Gabriel Targon) | iOS / Android / Apple Watch | 2023-09 | iOS Korea store 66 ratings; US store data not in the chart library; the official site focuses on widgets and smartwatch faces | Closest in function: photos, drawings, or toys can all become pixel pets that live on your lock screen, widgets, and watch. But it's a general-purpose tool by an individual developer, English-market, doesn't lean on "my kid" or the Rainbow Bridge, and has no co-raising or daily letters. |
| Finch: Self-Care Pet | iOS / Android | 2021 | Play installs 16.6M, US iOS 770k ratings [googleplay, appstore libraries] | Leader in self-care plus virtual pet raising; the pet is a preset character, not your own pet; the motive is self-growth, not missing a pet. |
| PicPet(O3O Labs) | Android / iOS | 2026-06 | Play installs 59k, best Taiwan Social Top Free rank #10 [googleplay library] | Raise a pet together with friends by sending photos to "feed" it. It's a social widget; the pet isn't your own. |
| Pocket Pet: Our Little Home(Nikunj Poddar) | iOS | 2026-10-15 | US: 2 ratings | Family-shared cats and dogs that live on the lock screen and Dynamic Island; you can only pick preset coat colors, not use a photo. |
| PawMe: Pet Live Wallpapers (Sunil Co., Ltd., Korea) | Android | 2026-10-29 | Play installs 452, KR Personalization Top Free rank 108 [googleplay library] | Turns pet photos into animated wallpapers; you only watch, you can't raise, and there's no content loop. |
| Rainbow AI: Pet Loss Reunion (GOLDEN DOG K.K.), 무지개편지, Memoriq, 포에버, Pawrest | iOS / web | Around 2026 | All small (Rainbow AI has 3 US iOS ratings; 무지개편지 claims 3,000 members) [appstore library; disquiet.io] | Built directly as "pet-loss emotional care": AI letters, AI videos, memorial pages. They're all grief tools; none has been built into a game you can play every day. |
| Petbooth, Pawfex, ViralPet and other AI pet photo / video apps | iOS / Android | 2024–2026 | Pawfex 73k installs, ViralPet 23k [googleplay library] | One-off image or video generation, with no raising or retention loop. PoketPet also added 「포켓사진관」 in late October, bringing that piece in-house. |
| Big-company features: ChatGPT / Gemini image generation | Web / App | 2025– | Huge | Can turn a pet photo into a pixel or humanized image (it's been big on Threads in Japan), but it's just one picture: you can't raise anything, and it gives you no reason to come back every day. |
| poketpetai.com | Web | 2026 | Unknown | A web tool of the same name: a photo "hatches" into a Pokémon-style elemental pet with rarity gacha. Generation only, no raising. |
Bottom line: "photo to pixel pet" isn't new (Pex has had it for 2023 years), and "virtual pet raising" isn't new either (Finch, Tamagotchi). PoketPet is the first to bundle "looks like your actual pet," "raise it every day," "daily letters," and "the whole family raises it together," and to explicitly target Korean and Japanese pet owners and "the kid who's already gone."
4. How users came in (growth levers)
- Meta paid ads (Instagram / Threads / Facebook), confirmed. Searching 「포켓펫」 in the Meta Ad Library for Korea, the first screen shows 12 groups running ads. Start dates cluster on 2026-10-16 (7 groups; copy about home-screen widgets, letters, and room decor) and 2026-11-05 (4 groups; copy about the big 10-29 update, plus one "founder story" group) [facebook.com/ads/library, country=KR, 2026-11-06 scraped]. The founder-story group reads: "I'm also a cat owner who's lost a cat… When I looked up what people say after a pet dies, the most common line was 'it's okay to grieve as long as you need'… so I built 포켓펫", with the hashtag #펫로스 (pet loss). The same copy also runs on Threads (the @elinelf_gabriella post matches ad 2832248730509447). Our metaads library only tracks keywords for the US, UK, Germany, and Japan, so it didn't catch this. We checked the googleads library against Google's Transparency Center: result is no_ads (no Google ads) [googleads library adv_map].
- Creator promotions (paid collaborations), confirmed. One of the ads is creator content tagged #광고 (ad): the Samoyed-and-parrot account 「티코랑 윌리」 made PoketPet for their two pets, @poket.pet [Meta Ad Library 2156540525072818]. Instagram also has reels reposting content like "playing mobile games for reviews" and "the new Shinchan (Crayon Shin-chan) game" [Jina search results].
- TikTok burner-account farm, confirmed, but almost no traction. The #포켓펫 videos on TikTok mostly come from a handful of new accounts: animaleieieee (11 followers, 56 videos), mlem384 (14 followers, 56 videos), meowwoof019 (7 followers, 47 videos), plink857 (1 followers, 4 videos). They posted daily from Sep 4 to Oct 7 using one title template: "실시간 난리라는 고양이 어플 근황" (the cat app everyone's going crazy over right now), "견주들 여럿 울렸다는 게임" (the game that made lots of dog owners cry), "진짜 슬픈 어플" (a truly sad app). The best one got 7,568 views, and most October videos got 0–2 views. Another account, 1iwj8, usually posts diet and dating content, but 9-04 posted one saying "comment '펫' and I'll show you how to make it", a classic for-hire account [TikHub 2026-11-06]. The official Japan-store account poketpet.jp has only 2 followers and 11 videos, with 100–1,000 views [TikHub]. So TikTok is saturated with spam, but it's not bringing in many users.
- Official Instagram @poket.pet, confirmed. Started posting reels and photo posts in mid-August ("우리 집 반려동물이 폰 안으로 쏙!", "Your home pet pops into your phone!"). Comments include real users saying "exactly like my kid" [instagram.com/reel/Db-SSpMz7J9]. Facebook page Poketpet created in Aug 11 [facebook.com/p/Poketpet-61593170220772].
- Word of mouth and store reviews, inferred. The most frequent review words are 「무지개다리」「강아지별」「고양이별」 (all ways of saying a pet has passed), 「위로」 (comfort), and 「너무 똑같아요」 (so alike). The official site puts a five-star review on the homepage: "The dog I raised for 15 years is gone; it's AI, but it's like it's still by my side" [poketpet.com]. The shared-raising invite code naturally pulls in family and partners (the mechanism works, but there's no data).
- Not found: press coverage, discussion on X (x-radar "poketpet" / "포켓펫" 90 days, 0 posts), Reddit/HN, celebrities, free-promo chart pushes, or public revenue.
5. Why it took off
- Its emotional hook is strong, and the phrasing is specifically Korean. 「무지개다리 건넌 아이」 (the child who crossed the rainbow bridge) is a phrase Korean pet owners use. The top-liked iOS and Play reviews are almost all about deceased pets: a cat that died of kidney failure a year and a half ago, a dog that was with someone for 15 years, and 「무지개다리 건넌 아이와 너무 비슷하게 나와서 놀랐어요」 (it came out so much like the child who crossed the rainbow bridge that I was shocked) [App Store kr, Play kr reviews]. The team leaned into this in its official positioning: ads carry #펫로스 (pet loss), the room themes include 「天堂」 (heaven), and founder stories are used in marketing. Grief products are usually one-time tools; PoketPet turned it into something you come back to every day, and that is its main acquisition hook.
- "Looks like them" has to land at first glance, and this one does. The most common review says "same markings, same expression, same head tilt." A Japanese user wrote: "Uploaded 4 photos (close-up of the face, front, side, back), and even the collar came out right" [applion.jp review]. One photo in, result out, instantly shareable: that alone is ad creative.
- Retention comes from Tamagotchi-style 「it needs you」 mechanics and daily letters. It gets hungry, needs cleaning, needs soothing at night, and a letter arrives every day at midnight. One review reads: 「回答每天的问题,还会收到回信,所以每天都会打开」 (I answer the daily question and get replies back, so I open it every day) [App Store kr review, 2 days ago]. Stat decay is too fast, and some reviewers are upset (「아이와 닮은 모습인데 마음의 문을 닫았다」: it looks like my child but I shut my heart to it). The developer, Aug 30, replied that they slowed the rate of decline [Play kr]. This shows emotional investment is tied to the urge to pay.
- Monetization: in-app purchases plus rewarded ads, with emotional users willing to pay. 63k installs are enough to hold #40–45 on the KR Lifestyle Top Grossing chart, which suggests paying rate and ARPU are decent. But that chart bar is low, so revenue scale is modest.
- Acquisition is cheap and targeted. Only Korea and Japan are targeted. On Meta, it uses content pet owners would naturally share (UGC-style reels, creator collaborations, founder stories) to reach pet-owning audiences. It avoids large-budget Google UAC. Each major update brings a new batch of creative (10-16 widgets, 11-05 photo studio and mini-games).
6. Differentiation
- 「Your own pet」 rather than a virtual pet. Finch, Pocket Pet, and PicPet use preset pets. Pex accepts photos, but positions itself as a general widget toy. PoketPet pushes "looks like them" far enough that owners recognize their pet, then adds shared family care, daily letters, and community. The target is "my child."
- Turning grief into a game. Rainbow AI, 무지개편지, and Memoriq are grief tools you use once and leave. PoketPet is a care game you can play every day, tying emotional value to retention and monetization.
- Start with Korea and Japan. Both have high pet-ownership density, strong cultures of pet personification and 「우리 아이 / うちの子」 (my child), and users willing to pay for emotional content. Localized copy is made with creators.
- These differences explain why it took off, especially the second point: the ads, reviews, and official site all talk about losing a pet. But there is no technical moat. Turning a photo into a pixel pet is something current image models can do; Pex did it 2023 years ago.
7. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: few people know about it yet. No media coverage, 0 posts on X, no public revenue figures. TikTok content is almost all from the team's own alt accounts with very few views. It spreads only through ads and reviews within pet communities.
- Copycats: there are no strict copycats yet. Adjacent products include PawMe from Korea's Sunil Co. (10-29 listed, pet photos as animated wallpapers), Pocket Pet: Our Little Home in the US store (10-15, shared family lock-screen pets, but no photo input), and the web app poketpetai.com (same name, hatches pets from photos). The team has also used the same template for PoketCouple (a couples version).
8. What to borrow
- The formula: 「a character that looks like the user's own photo」 + Tamagotchi-style needs (hunger, dirt, sleepiness) + daily content (letters, Q&A) + invite-code co-parenting. It can transfer to other strong emotional subjects: deceased family members (more sensitive), couples (which the team is already doing), children, idols.
- Pet loss is a gap with high willingness to pay where competitors only build one-time tools. Building for English-speaking markets (US #petloss; 「rainbow bridge」 is an established phrase) is an opportunity; I haven't seen a comparable bundled product there yet.
- Acquisition: small-market, small-budget Meta UGC creative plus creator partnerships, with a new batch each major update. Founder stories like 「I'm a pet owner too」 suit emotional categories.
- What not to copy: the TikTok alt-account template matrix (0 views). It doesn't work for this category.
9. Still unclear
- Actual revenue: the Top Grossing rank bar is low, so only a rough estimate is possible (unverified).
- Total Meta ad count, spend, and Japan targeting: keyword searches in the JP store picked up other advertisers, so I couldn't confirm whether PoketPet advertises on Meta in Japan.
- Real iOS volume: the rating count is small, but iOS rating rates among Korean users are inherently low.
- Growth is slowing (single-observation new installs dropped from 2.1k to 0.8k). Whether 10-29 major update plus 11-05 new creatives can bring it back needs one or two more weeks to judge.
