20k installs, #13 on Brazil's finance grossing chart: a solo-built offline budgeting app that targets credit-card installments
What it is A Brazilian budgeting app that keeps all data on the phone: it reads bank push notifications to log transactions automatically, assigns credit-card installments to the right month based on the statement date, and can reconcile line by line against bank statement PDFs.
Why it took off In a budgeting category crowded with ten-year-old incumbents, it stands out with "offline, no sign-up, no ads," and it goes deep on the credit-card statements and installments that Brazilians struggle with most. The free tier is generous enough to keep people, and paid conversion runs well above older apps. Acquisition comes from small, affordable, multi-channel efforts a single person can sustain: Meta videos, ChatGPT ads, and articles that walk through bank statements.
BHow you could follow it Don't build another one in Brazil. Move to countries with heavy installment culture, like Mexico or Argentina, and build only "automatic logging from local bank notifications + installments assigned by statement date + statement PDF reconciliation," offline, no sign-up, no ads, with paid tiers on backup, sync, and reports.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-05-03 · 11-07 installs 19,776
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
Kontto is a budgeting app built by Brazilian indie developer Laysson: no sign-up, no bank linking, no ads, and data stays on your phone. On Google Play it has fewer than 20k installs, yet it sits daily on Brazil's finance grossing chart at #13–14, while the older app ahead of it has 120 times as many installs. In a category full of decade-old incumbents, it goes deep on what Brazilians find hardest about budgeting: credit-card statements and installments. Below: what it does right, where its users come from, where the money comes from, and whether the same approach is worth copying in another country.
People who lost years of records when they switched phones
On 2026 Sep 11, a Brazilian user named Marcos Guimaraes left a review of Kontto on Google Play:
"I used a competitor for years and never wanted to switch, until I got a new phone and couldn't recover my data. Moving to Kontto, no regrets: it's good-looking, intuitive, and works well, with many features I didn't have in the old app, and the free version already has them. Once I can afford it, I'll buy the paid version to support the developer."
Two days later the developer replied: "Valeu, Marcos! Bem-vindo ao Kontto!" (Thanks, Marcos, welcome to Kontto!) The review had 10 likes.
Kontto's Play reviews are full of this kind of story: users who tried other "well-known" budgeting apps, got fed up with bugs and paywalls, tried a pile of them, and finally settled here. The homepage displays three of these quotes verbatim, the first being "I've tried dozens (really, over 50) of budgeting apps, and this one has everything I like in a single app," under the headline "For people who tried 'dozens of apps' and stopped here." The developer replies to every review, and when someone suggested "add a calculator when typing amounts," he replied "Noted, I'll consider it for the next version."
What it is
Opening the app, the home screen shows this month's total balance, income, and spending, followed by a line reading "Credit card statement R$2,177.30," then each account and card, with the due date for each card. The official site describes it in one sentence: "Tells you how much this statement is due, how much installments have already taken, and what's left this month."
Three things set it apart from other budgeting apps:
- Reads bank notifications and logs the transaction for you. You swipe your card at a bakery, Nubank pushes "Debit purchase R$18.50, Padaria São João," Kontto reads the notification, creates a pending transaction, and you tap once to confirm. It supports Nubank, Itaú, Bradesco, Inter, C6, Santander, Caixa, Mercado Pago, PicPay, and more. It has worked on Android all along; on iPhone, from iOS 27 onward, you can set it up once through a Shortcuts automation that Kontto provides. One user's words: "It recognizes every bank's notifications and doesn't mistake bank ads for purchases."
- Installments land in the right month. Brazilians install-pay (parcelado) for nearly everything, and each card has a different statement date and due date. Kontto uses each card's closing and due dates to assign every installment to the month it's actually owed.
- Reconciles against bank statements. When the statement comes out, drop in the PDF (password-protected works too) or a screenshot, and it compares each line against the transactions you've already logged: what matches, what amounts differ, and what you forgot to record. The official demo reads "43 transactions, 40 reconciled, missed IOF R$1.10 and one foreign purchase." IOF is Brazil's financial tax on foreign card transactions; the amounts are small and easy to miss.
Beyond that, it has what a budgeting app should: budgets, goals, a "financial health score" from 0 to 100, receipt scanning, and CSV/OFX import. AI chat is optional and requires your own Gemini or OpenAI key.
The numbers: few installs, many paying users
| Metric | Value | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play cumulative installs | 18,401(10-29) → 19,776(11-06), 8 days +1,375, roughly 170 per day | Google Play, daily scrapes from third-party tracker |
| Brazil Play finance grossing chart | #10-29 from 11-04 to 14,11-05, #11-06 at 13, charted daily | Google Play charts |
| Chart neighbors | #12 Minhas Economias (2.42M installs), #6 Organizze (3.92M), #3 Mobills (11.2M) | Google Play,11-06 |
| Play rating | 4.8 stars, 423 ratings (11-06 store page); in Aug 26 it was 4.9 stars, 199 reviews | Play store page; os27.app article |
| iPhone | Launched June 2026, 4.9 stars from 45 ratings, peaked at #37 in Brazil's Finance Top Grossing | App Store |
| Pricing | Pro: R$11.90 monthly, R$79.90 yearly, R$149.90 lifetime (about $2 / $14 / $27) | os27.app, August |
| Updates | 1.0.77(10-29) → 1.0.82(11-05), 8 versions in 3 days | Google Play |
The second and third rows matter most: the app ranked just ahead of it, Minhas Economias, has 2.42M installs, while Kontto has fewer than 20k. Sitting on the same grossing chart shows that Kontto's users pay at a much higher rate than the older app's. Actual revenue isn't available externally; based on rank on that chart, the estimate is a few thousand to $10–20K in monthly revenue (estimate, unverified).
One more detail: a late-August article described the free tier as "unlimited accounts," but the official site now lists the Android free tier as "up to 5 accounts and 3 cards," while iPhone starts users on a Pro free trial. The free tier has tightened somewhat over these months, and the rising grossing rank may be related (inferred).
Why it's gaining ground in a crowded category
Brazil's budgeting app market is a decade-old battlefield: Mobills launched 2013 years ago, Organizze 2015 years, and Minhas Finanças 2013 years; all have millions to tens of millions of installs. The newcomer Pierre is backed by a large company like CloudWalk, uses Open Finance to connect banks, adds an AI financial assistant, and grew 49k installs in a week. None of Kontto's individual features are new: logging from bank notifications is already in Organizze and Minhas Finanças, and "no bank linking, privacy-first" is also pitched by contemporaries like Granfácil and Zapter.
It wins by combining four things in one native app:
- Offline, no sign-up, no ads. This is the positioning that makes it instantly recognizable. Everyone is pushing "connect your bank," and it does the opposite: "I never touch your bank account, and your data never leaves your phone," which appeals to people uneasy about Open Finance and data breaches. It also has no server costs.
- Notifications patch the offline weakness. The biggest flaw of offline apps is that everything must be entered by hand, and people quit after three days. Reading notifications lets it "log automatically without linking a bank," a combination that's rare in the Brazilian market.
- Credit-card statements, installments, and reconciliation done better than the incumbents. This is where users are willing to pay. Other apps can track installments too, but "how much is this statement, and does the PDF match line by line?" is a specific local pain point that generic global budgeting apps simply don't address.
- A generous free tier. No ads, and you can log cards, track installments, and budget for free. A line that keeps showing up in reviews is "features other apps charge for are free here." Get people to stay first, then charge for automatic backup, multi-device sync, advanced reports, and cash-flow forecasting.
One person shipping a new version every few days, answering every review, with ratings holding at 4.8–4.9 stars and reviews climbing from 199 at the end of August to over 400 now.
Where users come from: every channel is small, but they're all being tested
Kontto has no single breakout moment. Its user acquisition is a set of small, multi-channel bets one person can keep up, and each channel is attributed on its own:
- Meta video ads. The Meta Ad Library shows its page "Kontto Finanças Pessoais" running 3 video ads in Brazil, starting Sep 18, Oct 9 and Oct 25. The copy sticks to one idea: "know how much you owe before the bill closes." Volume is modest. These are a few long-running creatives, not a blitz.
- Ads inside ChatGPT. Its privacy policy says the Android build "configured for OpenAI ads" links an ad click to installs, trial starts and Pro purchases. ChatGPT ads opened to self-serve buying in Brazil around August 2026, and people asking ChatGPT for a budgeting app are high-intent traffic. It was an early adopter of the new channel, wiring click-to-subscription attribution itself. How much it spent and what it brought in isn't public.
- TikTok: ads tried, then pulled. The privacy policy says the TikTok ad SDK was integrated before 1.0.72 and later removed, most likely because conversions didn't pay off (inference). It still runs a first-person persona account, @minharotina_kontto, posting almost daily with stories like "I used to put everything in installments until I saw the scary bill" and "how I went from broke every month to saving." Each post gets a few hundred to four or five hundred views, the best 25k. It drives very little.
- Bank-specific long-tail articles. Its blog has published every three or four days since June. The most interesting series is "how to check your XP credit card statement" and "how to check your Renner statement," plus one each for Riachuelo, Neon, Sicoob, Sicredi, PagBank and C6. Each article leads to the app's PDF statement reconciliation. Other pieces target comparison and worry keywords like "best budgeting app 2026" and "is Open Finance safe." Store links on the site carry channel tags, so it tracks conversion channel by channel.
- Paid exposure in indie dev circles. os27.app, a Brazilian indie dev site, published a long piece in August 26, "Offline budgeting apps: no sign-up, no cloud," that covers Kontto throughout, with links going through the site's bidding redirect (likely a paid slot, inference). In July 1, a Brazilian public-revenue indie product chart also posted on Instagram welcoming it to the list, but its revenue page no longer loads.
Not found: press coverage, X discussion, creator partnerships, Product Hunt. One side signal: someone asked in a GitHub Android crack-patch project specifically for a way around Kontto's Pro paywall (Oct 6). Someone wanted to bypass the paywall, which suggests people want the product.
Who's nearby
| Competitors | Scale (Google Play) | How Kontto differs |
|---|---|---|
| Mobills | 11.2M installs, #3 in Brazil's finance Top Grossing | Requires sign-up, data in the cloud, bank linking, ads; full feature set |
| Organizze | 3.92M, #6 | Has long offered notification-based tracking and a paid direct bank connection; requires sign-up, trial is only 7 days |
| Minhas Finanças | 3.49M, #5 | Also reads SMS and notifications, adds AI; dated interface |
| Minhas Economias | 2.42M, #12 | Free, online, bank linking; ranks right next to Kontto |
| Pierre(CloudWalk) | 1.6M installs, +49k a week, #2 | Big company, bank linking plus an AI assistant, heavy paid acquisition, the opposite path entirely |
| Money Tracker(MetaTime) | 9.76M, +75k a week | Global budgeting app, grows on paid acquisition, no Brazil-specific statement or installment logic |
| Granfácil, Zapter and others | Mostly web | Also says no bank linking, but isn't a native offline app and has no notification tracking or statement reconciliation |
Nothing copying it directly so far. The App Store has a same-named "Kontto: Finanças e gastos" from another developer, April, with 0 ratings. It's a name collision.
If it were you
B: worth a try, the method is clear, but the ceiling is modest and you start from scratch in every country. Kontto shows that in the most crowded budgeting category, one person can still earn a high paid conversion rate by being very good at one concrete local pain point with a clear stance. But it's a small operation: roughly a hundred-plus installs a day and monthly revenue in the low thousands to tens of thousands of dollars (estimate). Copying it into Brazil makes no sense; doing it in another country means reworking that country's bank notifications and statement formats from scratch.
Who it fits: indie devs who know a country with a heavy installment culture and are willing to adapt to one bank at a time. The closest matches to Brazil are Mexico ("meses sin intereses" interest-free installments, used by nearly everyone) and Argentina (cuotas). Colombia and Turkey (taksit) are also worth a look (inference; I haven't verified case by case whether similar products already exist there).
Who it doesn't fit: anyone aiming for a "global, track-everything" budgeting app. That road belongs to Money Tracker, which grows on paid acquisition, and a crowd of decade-old giant apps. It's also a poor fit for anyone unwilling to maintain it long term: when a bank changes its notification format, auto-tracking breaks and has to be fixed immediately.
How to do it: pick one country and do three things first: auto-track spending from notifications of the top ten local banks and wallets, move credit card installments to the statement-close date, and reconcile line by line from uploaded statement PDFs. Offline, no sign-up, no ads, backups to the user's own cloud drive, no server. Make the free tier generous (tracking cards, installments and budgets all free), and charge for automatic backup, multi-device sync and advanced reports. Subscription plus a one-time purchase tier. Before building, search Google Play in the local language for "control de gastos" and "meses sin intereses" to see whether anyone already offers notification tracking with installments.
How to acquire users: copy its mix, keeping each piece small and attributed: a couple of vertical Meta videos that say "know what you owe before the bill arrives," kept running; get into ChatGPT ads early, once they open locally; a series of "how to check your X bank credit card statement" articles, each leading to reconciliation; reply to every review. It tested TikTok ads and pulled them, so that can wait.
When is the window: There's no hard deadline. The hard part is bank integration, not racing anyone. But new channels like ChatGPT ads are cheap early and get pricier over time. Also, iOS 27 just opened up notification-based automation, so the iPhone gap for this kind of product is open for the next year or two.
Signs you've misread it: ① Kontto drops out of the top 30 in Brazil's finance Top Grossing within two or three months, or its daily new installs fall to a few dozen. That means this playbook's revenue isn't holding, and the earnings may have been a one-off from tightening the free tier. ② In your chosen country, a local developer already has notification tracking + installments + offline with over a thousand ratings. The gap is taken. ③ After launch, users keep reporting that "bank X's notifications aren't recognized," and you can't keep up. That means maintaining the bank adaptations alone costs more than you expected.

Bottom line
Kontto is a budgeting app from Brazil, built by one person, that is "offline, no sign-up, no ads." It has no single breakout moment. It works because, in a category already packed with users, it nailed the biggest pain points for Brazilians: credit card statements, installments, auto-tracking from bank notifications, and PDF statement reconciliation. It then set itself apart from the Open Finance camp with "your data stays on your phone," and kept growing through small, multi-channel acquisition one person can sustain: Meta video ads, ChatGPT ads, a first-person TikTok account, bank-specific long-tail SEO articles and paid backlinks. With only about 20k installs, it reached #13 on Brazil's Play finance Top Grossing chart, which points to very high paid conversion.

Launch date: the Play card says first published 2026-07-20, but that date resets when the listing info is edited or new storefronts are added. The earliest post on the official blog is 2026-06-18. A Reddit r/investimentos thread from around 2026 March (post ID 1s56adl, date inferred from the ID sequence) has someone saying "found an app called Kontto, trying it out." The Play version was live by spring of 2026 at the latest; the exact date is unverified.
2. What it is
- Offline, local-first: data lives in a local database on the phone. No account signup, no bank connection (no Open Finance). Backups are encrypted files saved to the user's own Google Drive. Pro can sync across several devices (beta), also through the user's own Drive. There is also Kontto Web (app.kontto.com.br), which decrypts in the browser and never passes through the developer's servers.
- Reads bank notifications and logs transactions automatically: on Android it reads notifications; on iPhone it does this via a Shortcuts automation, available from iOS 27. Supports Nubank, Itaú, Bradesco, Inter, C6, Santander, Caixa, Mercado Pago, PicPay and others. It creates pending entries, and the user taps once to confirm.
- Credit card bills and installments: each installment is assigned to the correct month based on the statement date and due date. Users upload a bill PDF (password-protected is fine) or a screenshot, and it reconciles line by line against the logged transactions, flagging missed entries and amount mismatches (e.g., a missed R$1.10 IOF tax).
- Monetization: no ads. Android has a free tier (5 accounts, 3 cards) plus Pro; iPhone starts with a free Pro trial. Pro unlocks advanced reports, automatic backup, sync, cash-flow forecasting and more. AI features are BYOK: users enter their own Gemini or OpenAI key.

3. Competitors
Personal finance tracking in Brazil is a mature and crowded category, and the veteran players have been around for a decade:
| Product | Where | Launched | Scale | How Kontto differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mobills | Android / iOS / web | 2013 | Play 11.2M installs, #3 in Brazil's finance Top Grossing | Cloud accounts + Open Finance bank sync, full-featured, with ads and subscriptions. Kontto focuses on no connection and no signup. |
| Organizze | Android / iOS / web | 2015 | Play 3.92M, Top Grossing #6 | Has long offered automatic logging from bank notifications (Reddit users mention it in 2024 and 2025), plus a paid "Conectado" direct bank link. Requires signup, data is in the cloud, and there is only a 7-day trial. |
| Minhas Finanças(Nimtech) | Android/iOS | 2013 | Play 3.49M, Top Grossing #5 | Also reads SMS and notifications, already has AI. Established but the UI feels dated. |
| Minhas Economias | Android/Web | 2012 | Play 2.42M, Top Grossing #12 | Free, online, bank-connected. It ranks just above Kontto but has 120× its installs. |
| Pierre(CloudWalk) | Android/iOS | 2025 | Play 1.6M, +49k a week, Top Grossing #2 | Open Finance + an AI financial assistant, backed by a big company's paid acquisition. Its approach is the exact opposite of Kontto's. |
| Easy Budget Planner / Controle Financeiro Pessoal(Aleff) | Android | 2019 | Play 2.12M, Top Grossing #17 | Purely manual tracking tools |
| Money Tracker(MetaTime) | Android | 2022 | Play 9.76M, +75k a week | A globalized generic tracker driven by paid ads, with no Brazil-specific logic for bills or installments. |
| A batch of Brazilian indie developers (Dinzo, Pluma, FinBot, Prevy, Monetis, Zpent, Granfácil, Zapter, etc.) | Web / WhatsApp / app | 2025–2026 | All publish MRR on ListaMRR. Dinzo ranks #6 overall. | Most use Open Finance, AI, or WhatsApp bots. Granfácil and Zapter also pitch "no bank connection, manual, private," but they are not native offline apps and have no notification logging or bill reconciliation. |
| Bill-reminder apps like Paguei! | Android/iOS | Early on | Medium | Only tracks upcoming bills, not full expense tracking |
| A same-name "Kontto: Finanças e gastos" (Eduardo Barahona, iOS rating 2026-04-01,0) and getkontto.app (a Spanish-language iPhone version) | iOS | 2026 | Very small | Same name, different developers. Not copycats. |
Verdict: Kontto did not invent automatic logging from bank notifications; Organizze and Minhas Finanças had it long before. "Offline privacy" is not its only selling point either, since Granfácil and Zapter also promote it. Its difference is combining four things in one native app: offline with no signup, automatic logging from notifications, credit card bills and installments placed precisely by date, and PDF bill reconciliation. Its free tier is also more generous than the veterans', and it runs no ads.
4. Growth tactics (evidence)
- Meta paid video ads (confirmed): the Meta Ad Library (Brazil, active) shows the Page "Kontto Finanças Pessoais" running 3 video ads, starting from 2026-09-18, 10-09 and 10-25 respectively. The copy centers on credit card bills: "Saiba quanto vem a fatura do cartão antes de ela fechar…" (Know how much the card bill is before it closes). The privacy policy also says the version with campaign parameters integrates the Meta SDK and reports install, usage and conversion events. The scale looks like a small, steady spend across a few creatives, not a mass push.
- ChatGPT ads (OpenAI Ads) (integration confirmed, spend unknown): the privacy policy states that the Android version configured for OpenAI ads links an ad click to installs, trial starts and Pro purchases. Click IDs are stored on Kontto's self-built Cloudflare service and then matched to RevenueCat customers. ChatGPT Ads opened self-serve buying to Brazil around 2026 August (reported by marketinglens, digitalapplied and others). Kontto is a small developer that adopted this new channel early and built its own attribution. Someone asking ChatGPT "recommend a budgeting app" is high-intent traffic.
- TikTok (confirmed, small scale):
- The privacy policy says versions before 1.0.72 integrated the TikTok SDK, which was removed from 1.0.72 onward. So they ran TikTok ads and then stopped, most likely because the conversions did not pay off.
- The account @minharotina_kontto (99 followers) tells stories in the first person ("I used to put everything in installments, until I saw the scary bill…"), posting nearly every day at 400–600 views each. One post reached 25k views (TikHub) 2026-08-16. There is also a @konto.finanas account, with a few dozen to a hundred-plus views. This is a self-run "persona account + soft product placement" setup, and it drives very little traffic.
- SEO long-tail content (confirmed): kontto.com.br/blog has published a post every 3–4 days since 2026-06. The most distinctive series is a set of guides written bank by bank, "how to check your X bank credit card bill": XP, Renner, Riachuelo, Neon, Sicoob, Sicredi, PagBank, C6… Each one links straight to the app's PDF bill reconciliation feature. There are also comparison and fear-driven articles such as "2026 best budgeting apps," "Is Open Finance safe?" and "How to manage Pix spending." Every store link on the site carries utm parameters (utm_campaign=organico), which suggests the developer is measuring conversions channel by channel.
- Paid backlinks / niche exposure (confirmed):
- os27.app (an ad-slot site in the Brazilian indie developer community, "paid-PIX placement") ran a feature article about Kontto 2026-08-26. Its link goes through
/api/outbid/go/, a paid redirect, so it is likely sponsored content or an ad placement. - 2026-07-01 ListaMRR (the Brazilian TrustMRR) posted on Instagram welcoming Kontto to the leaderboard. But listamrr.com.br/p/kontto now returns 404, and it does not appear in the finance category or in search. Either the developer took it down or switched to anonymous mode ("Produto Anônimo").
- os27.app (an ad-slot site in the Brazilian indie developer community, "paid-PIX placement") ran a feature article about Kontto 2026-08-26. Its link goes through
- Word of mouth / store optimization (confirmed): 4.9 stars and 401 Play reviews. The website says "the developer replies to every Play review" and quotes users directly on the homepage ("tried 50 budgeting apps" and "installments finally line up with the statement date, the other app always had bugs"). Organic mentions appear on Reddit r/investimentos starting in spring 2026. Reviews rose from 199 at the end of August to 401 in early November, roughly in step with installs.
- Not found: 0 discussion on X (x-radar, 180 days); no press coverage; no influencer partnerships; not on Product Hunt; not tracked in the metaads library.
5. Why it took off
- It hits the most concrete pain point in Brazilian budgeting: credit card bills and installments. Brazilians pay in installments (parcelado) heavily, and each card has its own statement and due dates. Users repeatedly praise "the installments follow the statement date now" and "finally I don't have to check the PDF line by line." PDF bill reconciliation and recognition of the small IOF tax are things a generic, US-style budgeting app cannot do.
- The "offline + no signup + no ads" stance caught the distrust created by Open Finance and data breaches. The blog has dedicated posts such as "Is Open Finance safe?" and "Why financial privacy matters," which won over people who don't want to hand over bank authorization. Notification-based logging lets an offline app log automatically too, filling the biggest gap that offline apps have (manual entry).
- A generous free tier retains users, and deep features are monetized. The free tier gives 5 accounts, 3 cards and no ads. Users say "features other apps charge for are free here." Reports, automatic backup, sync and cash-flow forecasting sit behind Pro. With only 20k installs it still ranked #13 in finance Top Grossing, which suggests a conversion rate well above that of the older apps on the same chart.
- Very fast iteration by a single person. A new version every few days (1.0.77 → 1.0.82 took only 8 days). It quickly added iOS 27 Shortcuts for notification reading, Kontto Web, and BYOK AI chat, and replies to reviews one by one.
- Small, multi-channel, self-attributed acquisition. Meta: 3 steady video ads. ChatGPT ads (an early-window tactic). TikTok, tested and then dropped. Bank-by-bank long-tail SEO. Paid exposure in the indie developer community. Each channel is small, but together they add roughly 170 installs a day. Because the conversion rate is high, the unit economics work.
6. The differentiation, and whether it explains the traction
The differentiation is not in one feature but in the combination: local offline + no signup + no ads, plus automatic logging from notifications and precise modeling of credit card bills and installments with PDF reconciliation, all built for the Brazilian context.
- "Offline privacy" is the positioning difference. It helps the app get noticed in a crowded chart, and it means the app doesn't need server costs.
- "Bills, installments and reconciliation" is the retention and monetization difference. It is the reason users are willing to pay.
- "Notification logging" is not unique on its own (Organizze had it first), but inside an offline app it becomes a rare combination.
So differentiation really is the main reason it has gained traction. But the traction so far is limited: roughly 170 installs a day, driven by a high conversion rate rather than a big surge in scale.
7. Visibility
- Still little known / spreading only in small circles: no press coverage, 0 discussion on X, and the self-run TikTok account has only 99 followers. An Instagram welcome post from when it was on ListaMRR (2026-07-01) exists, but the revenue page is now 404, so the exact MRR cannot be verified.
- Someone on GitHub's morphe-patches project asked specifically for a crack of its Pro version (2026-10-06, discussion #1055), which shows real demand for the paywall.
- But the Brazilian personal finance niche on ListaMRR is very hot: a dozen-plus independent products publish their revenue, and Dinzo, #1 in the finance category, ranks #6 overall.
8. Copycats
No product that directly copies it has been found yet. The same-name "Kontto: Finanças e gastos" (iOS, rating 2026-04,0) and the Spanish getkontto.app launched earlier or around the same time, so it is a name collision, not imitation. Bank-free trackers like Granfácil and Zapter are parallel attempts from the same period.
9. What to borrow
- In a mature category, pick the most specific local pain point (Brazil's bills, installments and IOF tax), execute it to a level the veterans never reached, and then differentiate from the crowd with a clear value position (privacy, offline, no ads).
- Use system capabilities (Android notification listening, iOS 27 Shortcuts automation) to make up for not connecting to banks, while keeping the privacy promise intact.
- A bank-by-bank long-tail SEO playbook for bill-checking guides: one post per bank, each leading straight to a product feature.
- Early adopter of ChatGPT ads. Built my own click-to-subscription attribution (Cloudflare stores the click ID + RevenueCat). Early traffic on a new ad platform is cheap and high-intent.
- Generous free tier with no ads; advanced reports, sync, and backup are paid. One person running RevenueCat plus several SDKs for attribution, cutting channels by conversion (TikTok SDK already removed).
10. Uncertain
- Actual revenue: the ListaMRR page has been taken down, so Top Grossing #13 can only serve as a proxy. Rough estimate from neighbors on the same chart: a few thousand to $10–20K a month. Unverified.
- How much was actually spent on ChatGPT ads and how many installs they brought in: unknown. Meta shows only 3 live ads; total historical volume is unknown.
- Real Play launch date (spring 2026 or July) unverified; the original Reddit post was blocked, so I couldn't read the full text.
- AppstoreSpy's early install curve isn't in the library, so the inflection point isn't visible.
