Wavvo: a video dating app with 90k installs, just the 4th skin of one template
What it is A one-on-one stranger video chat app with 18+ installs. Wave to say hi, video chat, private messages, and coins bought for pay-per-minute calls, mainly in Turkey.
Why it took off Not word of mouth, but waves of paid acquisition. Several days in September and October with over ten thousand installs pushed it to the tail of Turkey's social Top Free chart. After mid-October the spend stopped, and it now gets only three or four hundred a day.
DHow you could follow Don't follow this app. Teams going global that have a video chat backend and ad budget can learn its playbook: one codebase, many skins and brands, test products in small countries' category charts, scale the winners, and track which skin the same team is pushing by the format of its privacy page URLs.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-08-12 · 11-07 installs 92,535
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.Android · Ratings count (cumulative) Data 2026-11-06 → 2026-11-07 (2 days, 2 observations)
A 18+ video chat app that launched only in August and reached #192 in Turkey's social Top Free chart, with 93k installs in two and a half months. Digging deeper, it is not a single product but 12 shell developer accounts and 23 nearly identical apps, all buying acquisition on Google Play together for over two months to test products. Wavvo is the 4th of them, and its budget has already been pulled. Below: what it is, where the installs came from, how this playbook runs, and what an ordinary developer should take from it.
Oct 8: nine thousand installs in one day and a one-star review
On Oct 8, Wavvo's global cumulative installs jumped from about 54k to 63k, roughly 9 thousand more in a single day (third-party estimate, AppstoreSpy). The same day, a one-star review appeared on the US store page with just one line: "online hookers for the right price".
Looking back, there were several such jumps: in September 10 about 12k in one day, in October 4 about 10k, and from October 13 to 15 about 10k over three days combined. Between the jumps it barely moved: from October 5 to 7, the three days combined added fewer than 70 installs. This is not word of mouth; it is ads that are turned on and off in batches.
What it is
The store description reads "global video chat": first wave a hello to the other person, then live video, private messages and voice notes. It is rated PEGI 18, and the data safety section says "data not encrypted". In-app purchases range from $0.99 to $99.99; by industry convention, you buy coins and video is charged per minute (inferred).
The product itself has barely moved: only one version, 1.0.1, last updated in Sep 16 and never touched again. The Turkey store page shows 3.6 stars from 40 phone ratings; of 44 ratings worldwide, 26 are one-star and 17 are five-star, with not a single two-, three- or four-star (Google Play, 11-06). Only hate or perfect scores: the classic pattern of "paywall + suspected fake reviews" (inference).
Where the installs came from: paid acquisition, and it has stopped
| Timeline | Total installs | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| 09-02 | About 6,500 | Third-party tracking started |
| 09-10 | About 24k | About +12k in one day |
| 10-04 | About 54k | About +10k in one day |
| 10-08 | About 63k | About +9k a day |
| 10-15 | About 82k | About +10k in three days |
| 11-06 | 92,535 | Only +2,611 in the last 7 days, three or four hundred a day |
Data: September to October from AppstoreSpy estimates; from 10-29 onward, daily installs from Google Play.
Nearly all installs came from Turkey: the ratings cluster on the Turkish page, and the charts only hit Turkey's social Top Free chart (consistently between #10-29 and #174 from 195 onward), plus #4 and #5 ranks in South Africa's social Top Free chart on November 175 and 195. It never entered Top Grossing. Searching "Wavvo" on TikTok returns no related videos, nobody mentioned it on X in 90 days, and what you can find online are auto-generated pages from app aggregator sites. No content, no creators, no media, only ads.
Around #190 on Turkey's social Top Free chart, a few hundred installs a day is enough to hold a spot. The other apps on the same chart are Tango Lite, Chatspin, Olamet, Peachmet and a stream of new faces in the video dating category.
Who is behind it: one shell, one template, twenty-three skins
The developer is Riloilfuzom LLC. The address on the store is 418 Broadway, Albany, New York, a virtual address from a registered agent; the support email is Gmail; the website riloilfuzimllc.com doesn't even spell the company name correctly, and it opens to a template site where even the job listings are placeholder text. This account has 6 apps: Wavvo, Mmm, Royi, Blizu, Slico, Daqoo, all video chat, with random-word package names like gavren, drevon, caldor and braven.
The real clue is in the privacy policy. Wavvo's privacy page URL is utopian.slico.xyz/Wavvo-about/PrivacyPolicy.html, following the pattern "adjective.brand.domain/AppName-about/PrivacyPolicy.html". Searching Google Play with this pattern turns up 23 apps and 12 developer accounts: a US LLC, a Hong Kong trading company, and individuals in Indonesia and India. All of them were listed between Jul 8 and Sep 21 of 2026, all are 1 video or voice dating apps for 1, with about 920K installs combined. The privacy wording reads like a literal translation of China's Personal Information Protection Law. The email link on Wavvo's privacy page points to a different developer and a different app's inbox: the template was copied and the address never updated.
Which members of this family are getting paid acquisition is easy to see (Google Play installs, 11-06):
| App | Total installs | past 7 days | Main country |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xun | 161k | +55k | Malaysia |
| Xein | 104k | +20k | India (charted in Social Top Grossing) |
| Rosip | 95k | — | — |
| Wavvo | 93k | +2,611 | Turkey |
| Chu | 79k | +23k | Malaysia |
| Livtap | 66k | +12k | Turkey |
| Zeal | 31k | +11k | South Africa |
Livtap, also in Turkey, is still climbing, while Wavvo has been left to sit. This is the playbook: one codebase, one backend, swap the name, the icon, and the shell account, then spend a little per country and watch the return. Winners get more budget, losers get left alone. Multiple accounts also serve a purpose. Stranger video dating apps often get pulled from Google Play over content, and one account getting banned doesn't drag down the others.
What users are paying for
Wavvo has too few reviews of its own, so look at its siblings. In the Malaysia store, Xun's reviews have rows of five-star "good" and "nice app" alongside one-star reviews like this:
"Fake app! The video calls are fake. Right away it shows you AI-generated nude images, and it doesn't verify age. It's built to get you to pay... Worse, during these fake calls it asks for camera and microphone permissions." — Xun, Malaysia, 11-04
In the Turkey store, someone left a single line on the sibling app Livtap: "ESCORT'LAR SİTESİ" (escort site). In the India store, someone wrote "only money" on Xein. What's being sold isn't social connection. It's male users' expectation that there's a woman on the other end, charged by the minute in coins (inferred; whether the other side is a real streamer, AI, or a pre-recorded video can't be verified from outside, and one review is not proof).
Who it's competing with
Everyone. This category has long been proven to make money on Google Play, and it's also long been crowded:
- Veterans: Tango 387M installs, still #8 in Turkey's Social Top Grossing; Azar 293M; MICO 89M; Chamet 78M, #4 in UAE Social Top Grossing.
- Turkey locals: TenderU 18.8M, Chatspin 11.5M, Olamet 8.9M, Peachmet 5.9M.
- New 2026 wave: since March, at least 246 social/dating apps whose descriptions say video chat, 76 of them over 90k installs, 5 over a million (CoraApp, Koko, Vibra Live, Roost, Linko). Only 1 have charted in Top Grossing.
Among this 2026 wave of new skins, Wavvo sits mid-pack, with no feature that others lack.
If it were you
Bottom line: Don't follow Wavvo, and don't rush into this business. What's worth taking is its playbook and the fingerprints it left behind.
Who it fits: teams already doing going-global social/dating apps, with a ready video-chat backend, streamer supply, or payment channels, who can put a few thousand dollars per country into testing. For them, "many shells, many brands, test in small-country category charts, add budget to winners" is a ready-made method.
Who it doesn't fit: a solo dev or small team trying to build one product. Without a backend, streamers, ad budget, or spare accounts for when one gets banned, you'll just be the bottom-ranked entry among 246 new skins. And once apps like this are found to mislead payers or lack age verification, takedowns come in batches.
How to do it (if you're in the first group): pick a country where willingness to pay is already proven but few new skins exist. Check whether veterans like Tango or Chamet sit in the top 20 of the Social Top Grossing chart, and whether the Social Top Free chart's 150–200 slots have few new skins. Launch 3–5 skins, spend only a few days on each, and watch 7 days of payback before deciding whether to add budget. Don't count on content or word of mouth. In this category, all volume comes from ads.
User acquisition: buy by country through Google App Ads and Meta. This one ran in waves of one to two days, with daily installs in the ten-thousands at peak. From its curve, one skin's lifespan is about a month and a half.
Timing: there's no window to speak of. This business has been around for a decade and is still running. The real time pressure comes from platform policy. Google Play's review of age verification and payment inducement in stranger video dating is getting stricter (inferred), and the later you enter, the shorter one account may last.
What would show you read this wrong: if sibling apps Xun and Xein get into the top 50 of a few countries' Social Top Grossing charts within a month or two, that would mean this template pays back much better than it looks, and it's worth studying seriously. Conversely, if these 23 apps get pulled in batches before year end, the path is closed to newcomers.

Why Wavvo (com.gavren.app) managed to run
Channel: Google Play | Developer: Riloilfuzom LLC | Launched 2026-08-12 | Research date 2026-11-06. Data sources: googleplay library (app_profile, app_day, app_day_ext, chart_rank, app_snap, data as of 2026-11-06), Play store pages (read via Jina), privacy policy page, developer website, Jina search, TikHub, x-radar, and the metaads, googleads, and tiktokads libraries.
Bottom line
Wavvo isn't a product that grew on its own. It's one re-skin of a white-label 1v1 video chat template, the best performer among many clones pushed out in batches on Play and tested with paid acquisition. About 93k installs all came from a few concentrated ad pushes between September and mid-October (peaking near 12k in a single day), then dropped to a few hundred a day from late October. Monetization is coin in-app purchases at $0.99–$99.99. It has no product edge over the other 22 apps built on the same template. We picked it up only because it sat at the tail of the Turkey social Top Free chart (#174–195).
1. What it is
- Store description: "global video chat app", wave to say hi → live video → private chat / voice messages. Rated 18+ (PEGI 18), with Data safety saying "Data isn't encrypted". In-app purchases range from $0.99–$99.99 (googleplay library app_snap).
- Only 1.0.1 version (2026-09-16 update), with no releases after that (app_snap).
- Ratings: 44 globally, 2.6 stars. The distribution is 26 one-star and 17 five-star, with no middle ratings (app_snap 2026-11-06 histogram [26,0,0,0,17]). The Turkey store page shows 3.6 stars from 40 mobile ratings (Play Turkey page), meaning ratings are mostly from Turkey. The one- and five-star reviews are polarized, matching the typical pattern of "paywall / fake streamers draw complaints + review solicitation" (inferred; we don't have the review text, only 0 review samples in the library).
2. Growth data
Install curve since launch, from AppstoreSpy estimates (googleplay library app_day_ext) plus our own daily observations:
| Timeline | Total installs | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-09-02 | 6,456 | AppstoreSpy started tracking |
| 09-03 | 9,749 | Single day +3,293 |
| 09-10 | 23,583 | about +11,858 in a single day (one concentrated ad wave) |
| 10-01 | 43,533 | about 600–1,700 per day during this stretch |
| 10-04 | 54,037 | About +9,883 in a single day |
| 10-08 | 63,430 | About +9,324 in a single day |
| 10-13~15 | 81,983 | about +10k over three days |
| 10-27 | 89,922 | fell back to about 300 per day |
| 11-06 | 92,535 | +2,611 in the last 7 days (about 370/day) |
Pattern: stepped jumps with almost no growth between them (10-05 to 10-07 combined under 70 over three days). This is paid acquisition run in batches, switched on and off, not an organic word-of-mouth curve. Volume dropped sharply after mid-October, suggesting the advertiser stopped adding budget to this skin.
Chart: Since 10-29, it has stayed in the Turkey SOCIAL Top Free chart at #174–#195, and briefly showed up at #175–#195 in the South Africa SOCIAL Top Free chart on 11-04 and 11-05. It has never charted in any Top Grossing chart (chart_rank). The bar to hold #190 on Turkey's social Top Free chart is low: the apps around it are Tango Lite, Chatspin, Olamet, Peachmet and a pile of reskins of video dating apps (v_chart 2026-11-06).
3. Who's behind it: one shell company and one template family
Developer Riloilfuzom LLC (Play developer page): 6 apps. Wavvo, Mmm - Social Video Chat (100k+, 3.0 stars, 173 ratings), Royi (10k+), Blizu (10k+, 44k in the library), Slico - Chat Now, and Daqoo (100+). The package names are random words (gavren, drevon, caldor, braven). The website riloilfuzimllc.com doesn't even spell the company name consistently. It's a template site, and the job listings are placeholder content. The privacy policy lists an address at 418 Broadway #5889 in Albany, New York, a virtual registered-agent address. The contact email is Gmail.
Traces of a Chinese team: The privacy policy's "Personal information refers to information recorded electronically or in other forms that can identify a specific individual…" and "Significant changes to the departments responsible for personal information protection" are nearly word-for-word from China's Personal Information Protection Law. That's a privacy template common among Chinese teams going global. The privacy page's mailto link actually points to another email, [email protected], which belongs to another developer's app, Lipnite (echo.telo.call). The template is reused across companies, and someone changed the text but forgot the link.
Same template family: Privacy policy URLs all follow "<adjective>.<brand>.<domain>/<AppName>-about/PrivacyPolicy.html" (utopian.slico.xyz, sylvan.vix.agency, regal.smoov.fun, api-h5.xdame.one, cosmopolitan.joylink.pro…). Searching the googleplay library for that format turns up 23 apps and 12 developer accounts, all 2026-07-08 and listed through 09-21, all 1v1 video/voice dating, about 920k installs combined (counting only what's in the library and has charted). Developer names are all over the place: US LLCs (Riloilfuzom, VOIETRDD, Vertexis Group, Wbelomt, ALHAMBRAJEWEL, ETERNALENAMEL), Hong Kong trading companies (Bonroy Fang Trade, Boways Trade), Indonesian and Indian personal names (AndiWiji, PRAVEEN KASIPOGU), and WestoDev. Package names are also all "random word.random word.random word" (breeze.toucha.video, spark.hushlo.chat, vivid.crew.live).
Ranking within the family (googleplay library, cumulative installs): Xun 161k > Xein 104k > Rosip 95k > Wavvo 93k > Chu 79k > Livtap 66k > …… smallest is Wifun 538. Wavvo is ranked 4th, but in the last 7 days it's only up 2,611, far behind Xun (+55k), Chu (+23k), and Xein (+20k). The ad budget has already moved to other skins.
This is the classic playbook: one codebase and one backend, multiple shell accounts and multiple brands flooding Play, testing ROI country by country, pushing spend on the winners and parking the losers. The other point of multiple accounts is spreading takedown risk. Stranger video dating apps often get pulled from Play over content or paywall-baiting, so one banned account doesn't take the others down.
4. Competitors
A huge number of products do the same thing (stranger 1v1 video chat / video dating, coin-based billing):
- Old big players: Tango (387M installs on Play, #8 in Turkey's social Top Grossing), Azar (293M, Hyperconnect / Match Group), MICO (89M), Chamet (78M, #4 in UAE social Top Grossing), Wakie (10M) (googleplay library).
- Turkish local rivals in the same bracket: TenderU (18.8M), Chatspin (11.5M), Olamet (8.9M), Peachmet (5.9M), Arzu (4.1M), MeetAny (3.2M), Bico / Yumie (KAYA TEAM), Dollin (WestoDev, same template family, 376k), Harem, Toffe, and others (v_chart TR SOCIAL free 2026-11-06).
- Fresh 2026 skins: Since 2026-03, the library has 246 SOCIAL / DATING / COMMUNICATION apps listed with video chat / video call / live video in their descriptions. 76 of them have passed 90k installs and 5 have passed 1M (CoraApp 1.56M, Koko 1.52M, Vibra Live 1.31M, Roost 1.24M, Linko 1.11M). Only 1 have made it onto a Top Grossing chart (googleplay library). Wavvo sits mid-pack in this group.
Bottom line: Wavvo has nothing that its competitors lack, and its install count doesn't stand out even among the 2026 fresh skins.
5. Growth tactics (where users come from)
| Channel | Evidence | Verified? |
|---|---|---|
| Paid acquisition (presumed Google UAC / Meta / ad networks, mainly in Turkey) | Stepped jumps (09-10 +12k, 10-04 +10k, 10-08 +9k), with almost nothing in between at 0; ratings are almost all from Turkey; no organic content at all. The metaads, googleads and tiktokads libraries don't track it, so the creatives can't be seen directly. | Not directly confirmed (strong inference) |
| Multi-brand matrix testing | Same developer, 6 skins + 23 apps / 12 accounts in the same template, listed in the same period, scaling by country (Wavvo in Turkey, Xun / Chu in Malaysia, Zeal / Diktalk in South Africa, Geegoo / Marla in Thailand) | Confirmed (store page + library) |
| Store search / charts | On the tail of Turkey's social Top Free chart, which brings in some organic traffic. But the ranking was pushed up by paid acquisition. | Partial |
| Content / creators / social media | TikTok search for "Wavvo" returns no relevant videos. x-radar has 90 posts in 0 days. Online there are only auto-generated pages from AppBrain / Softonic / Apptopia and similar sites. | Confirmed absent |
| Prompted reviews | 26 one-star + 17 five-star reviews, none at 2–4 stars; the five-stars look like they were prompted or fake | Not confirmed |
Where the money comes from: $0.99–$99.99 in-app coin purchases, with video charged per minute in coins (standard in the industry; the sibling Diktalk is literally named "Deep talk with girls," which points to a host / companion model). Turkey is a high-paying market for video dating (Tango is #8 in Turkey's social Top Grossing), but Wavvo has never charted Top Grossing, so revenue is probably small.
6. Why it took off
- Paid installs: The 90k installs are almost all from ad campaign batches (the stepped curve in app_day_ext).
- Template reuse keeps launch costs low: One video chat codebase, privacy template, and backend are shared by 23 apps. Launching a new one just means changing the name, icon, and account. The main cost per skin is ad spend.
- Chose a low-barrier market: Turkey's social Top Free chart sits around #190, so a few hundred installs a day gets you on it, which is why it caught our attention.
- The category has high willingness to pay: 1v1 video dating is a long-established money-maker on Play (Tango, Chamet, and Azar all appear on Top Grossing charts in multiple countries). New players dare to buy ads because the model has already been proven.
7. Differentiation
No product differentiation. The description, features (greetings / video / private chat / voice), and wording are nearly identical to dozens of other skins in the same template. Compared with Tango or Azar, it's behind on every front. The only thing that's "different" is choosing Turkey as the target market. It was picked up because of its distribution playbook (matrix + paid acquisition), not because of the product.
8. How many people know about it
Few people know about it yet: no media coverage, 0 discussion on X and TikTok, revenue not disclosed, and only auto-generated pages from AppBrain / Softonic / Apptopia / Similarweb. But what it does (a video dating skin matrix) is a well-known playbook in going-global circles, and that space is already crowded.
9. What others can learn
- The matrix playbook of "one codebase, multiple accounts, multiple brands, testing products by country," plus using small-country category charts at low barriers to judge which skin is gaining traction.
- The fingerprints of the privacy page, package names, and shell companies (a fixed URL pattern "xxx-about/PrivacyPolicy.html", random-word package names, a fake Albany address) can be used in reverse to track new skins from the same team. To see who's scaling up spend, check which skin in the family has grown fastest over the last 7 days (currently Xun, Chu, and Xein, not Wavvo).
- For us, the family as a whole is more worth watching (23 apps, about 920k installs, over two and a half months) than Wavvo on its own.
10. Still unclear
- Ad channels and creatives: none of the three ad libraries tracks it, and no specific creatives were found. Whether it has creatives in Google Ads Transparency is unverified.
- Who the company behind it is: whether the 12 shell accounts belong to one company or one white-label vendor selling to several clients is unverified (both are possible; the cross-company template reuse looks more like a vendor or outsourcing arrangement).
- Whether it uses real hosts, AI hosts, or fake profiles: I couldn't get the original review text, so this is unverified.
- Revenue: it hasn't charted Top Grossing, so the scale is probably small, but the exact figure is unknown.
- The curve before September: AppstoreSpy only starts tracking from 09-02 (6,456 installs), so August volume is unknown.
