A satellite map app with 40K installs in a week, and a twin launched the next day: how an Indian app factory rotates pushing one product

What it is A free, ad-monetized Android mashup of a 3D Earth + satellite imagery + public camera live feeds + GPS speedometer.

Why it's taking off The Indian Qtonz / Qzee app factory moved its budget to this new package: store listing aimed at evergreen high-search terms like "live earth map" and "satellite view", plus paid acquisition in cheap markets like the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and India (inferred), with AdMob recouping costs.

CHow you could follow Don't make another Nth Earth mashup; copy the process: one codebase behind two or three reskinned packages, test with small budgets in low-cost markets, scale whichever one pencils out. If you really enter this category, only build the live camera feed users actually want, organized by city and landmark, with local-language support.

Grade C: the playbook (multi-package rotation, ASO, low-cost-market acquisition, AdMob recovery) is worth learning, but its traction comes from the factory's existing budget and monetization model. The category already has tens-of-millions-download incumbents, and a Vietnamese competitor launched the same month is already 50 times larger, so copying it isn't worth it. Few people know about it yet

GlobeNav: Satellite & Live Map launched Sep 29, and from late October it began climbing the Google Play map category charts in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India, adding 40K installs in a week. It has nothing new: a 3D Earth, public camera live feeds, and a GPS speedometer. The top products in this category have already been installed tens of millions of times. Behind it is an Indian app factory; the same feature is shipped under at least three packages, and money goes to whichever one takes off. Below: who made it, where the traffic comes from, where the money comes from, who it competes with, and what you should take from it.

Two apps one day apart

On Sep 29, 2026, a developer account called Lovo Software listed GlobeNav on Google Play. The next day, Sep 30, the same account listed OrbView: Satellite & Live Map.

Put the two store pages side by side and you can tell they were written by the same person. GlobeNav says "GlobeNav puts the entire planet in your pocket"; OrbView says "The whole planet, one screen". The feature lists are identical, just reordered: 3D Earth, satellite / street / terrain layers, public camera live feeds, world landmarks, GPS speedometer, compass, currency conversion. Even the landmark examples are half swapped: one lists the Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque; the other lists the Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, and Burj Khalifa. Both apps' most recent updates landed on Oct 12, the same day.

By Nov 6, GlobeNav had 45,436 installs and OrbView had 8,116 (Google Play store pages, 11-06). Same product, same-day release: one was pushed up, the other is still waiting.

Nov 2 alone added 23K. Over the same period it climbed the free map and navigation charts in 9 countries at once: the Philippines from #40 to #12, Saudi Arabia #94 to #25, Malaysia #68 to #19, Indonesia #37 to #11, UAE #80 to #32, India #124 to #41 (#10-29 to #11-03 around then; Malaysia and Indonesia later dropped back to #11-06 and #31, #43).

45K installs, no rating count, and not a single review.

Who's behind it: not one app, a row of them

The developer website on Lovo Software's account points to qzeegames.com, an Indian game studio (QZEE GAMES LLP, registered in Ahmedabad in May 2024). GlobeNav's privacy policy is hosted under qtonz.com's Google Sites, on a page named zonetrackprivacypolicy, directly reusing the policy page of another app from the same batch, "ZoneTrack". qtonz.com belongs to Qtonz Infosoft, an Indian company founded in 2013 that made the tens-of-millions-download MBit Music.

Follow the same privacy-policy domain, the same website, and the same batch of emails, and you find at least 21 apps spread across a dozen-odd developer accounts: call blockers (11.8M installs), WiFi key finders (1.16M), a Quran app, video players, short-drama apps, AI palm readers, IPTV, screen casting, PDF tools, family location trackers, satellite maps. The categories are all utilities and traffic-driven. Most launched between 2026 5 and September. Lovo is just one account; under it, besides GlobeNav and OrbView, there's a screen-casting app, a video vault, and three short-drama apps.

The satellite-map category had already been run by this factory once: EarthVista: Location App from QZEE GAMES LLP, launched Jul 13, now at 545k installs (store page, 11-06). Its package name is com.worldmap.liveearth.satelliteview; GlobeNav's is com.globenav.liveearth.satelliteview. Only the prefix changed.

This factory's monetization has official backing: Google Firebase's customer case study says Qtonz used Firebase plus AdMob to tune ad frequency by audience, raising ad revenue to 4x and ARPDAU up 190%.

Nov 6: in the Philippines' Top Free chart for map & navigation, this one factory holds 3 of the top 20 spots: ZoneTrack for family location at #9, GlobeNav at #12, and Phone Tracker at #16.

Where users come from

What we can confirm is store search. The titles say "Satellite" and "Live Map," the package names say "liveearth" and "satelliteview," aimed at phrases like "live earth map" and "satellite view" that get steady search volume in emerging markets. It's the same playbook as EarthVista.

The demand is real. People keep watching this kind of content on TikTok. One Brazilian creator's video opens with "Imagina ver qualquer lugar do mundo ao vivo" (imagine seeing any place in the world live), 83k views. Another English video says "I can't believe that I could see myself in Live Earth Map." Plenty of people install these apps thinking they'll see live satellite imagery, even their own home (inferred). In reality satellite imagery isn't live; the only live feeds are public cameras.

But GlobeNav itself has zero TikTok videos, and nobody on X has mentioned it in nearly 30 days.

So paid acquisition is most likely (inferred). Four reasons: 9 countries started climbing charts on the same day; they're all markets where Google App Campaigns CPIs are cheap, like the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and India; 45k installs with no ratings at all; and the same factory pushed three apps in the same category in the same week. No spend shows up in the public ad libraries, but tool apps' ads rarely do.

Where the money comes from

Ads only. The store page says "Contains ads" and lists no in-app purchases. Following the playbook Qtonz described in its own Firebase case study (AdMob app open, interstitials, frequency tuned by audience), the economics only work if acquisition in cheap markets stays cheap enough. Revenue and retention are invisible; a 0 rating may also mean the traffic is low-intent.

Who it's competing with

Plenty of people make "view the Earth" apps (Google Play installs, 11-06):

The most useful comparison is Vietnam's GambiSoftVn app: it launched 12 days before GlobeNav and already has 2.61M installs, 50x GlobeNav's. Same category, same month: how far a new package goes comes down almost entirely to budget and creative.

Functionally they're nearly identical. GlobeNav's only real difference is the name: not a string of keywords but a single brand-like word. Above them sit Google Earth and Google Maps' satellite layers, free and higher quality. The live camera feeds originate from sites like EarthCam, Windy Webcams, and SkylineWebcams. GlobeNav's own disclaimer admits the cameras are third-party public streams.

If it were you

You can learn something from it, but the app itself isn't a good deal. GlobeNav got traffic because a factory with dozens of packages, ready-made acquisition, and an AdMob revenue model put its budget behind this new package. Nothing in the product is something you can't get elsewhere, but you also won't get its real advantage. This category already has tens-of-millions-install incumbents, and a same-month Vietnamese competitor is already 50x its size. Even GlobeNav has a twin that launched the day before.

Who it fits: small teams already running Android utility apps, with AdMob monetization and Google App Campaigns experience, who can calculate what an install is worth in the Philippines or India. For you, a satellite map is just one more cell in a matrix.

Who it doesn't fit: indie devs hoping a good product will earn organic growth through word of mouth. 45k installs with 0 ratings means word of mouth doesn't exist in this category. Also those without an acquisition budget, and anyone who can't stomach Google Play periodically purging batches of look-alike utility apps.

How to do it: copy the process, not the category. One codebase, two or three reskinned packages in one category (different names, icons, and description copy), spread across different accounts. Test with small budgets at the same time, and once a package's install cost and ad revenue add up, pile the budget onto it. If you really want to enter "view the Earth," don't build the Nth all-in-one blob. Build the real misunderstanding into the product: users want "what it looks like there right now," so build only live cameras, organized by city, beach, landmark, and weather, localized into local languages, with broken cameras cleaned out. That's the part the all-in-one apps do badly.

How to acquire users: start with store search, aiming titles and package names at high-volume keywords. Test Google App Campaigns with small budgets in cheap markets like the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and the Middle East. On TikTok, "see anywhere in the world" and "see my own home" videos keep getting views. Post screen recordings from your own accounts to test creative, and put money behind whichever gets the most organic plays.

When to do it: there's no window. This is a permanent search demand, and dozens of players are always crowded in. Whether it's worth it depends on acquisition cost, not timing.

What would prove this read wrong: ① a month or two later, GlobeNav stalls at a few hundred thousand installs and drops off country charts while OrbView gets pushed next. That would mean this "rotate packages" routine is standard operation for the factory, each package has a short life, and backing individual packages is an even worse bet. ② The reverse: a few months from now GlobeNav grows steadily to hundreds of thousands like EarthVista, and starts getting ratings and reviews. That would mean the category's ads pay back better than expected, and it's worth running the numbers seriously. ③ A new app that only does live cameras, with clearly higher ratings than the all-in-one blobs, rising organically on the maps charts in these countries. That would mean the niche route is viable.

Where users come from
  • Inferred Paid acquisition via Google App Campaigns and similar (inferred): 9 regions began climbing the maps category chart together from 10-29, concentrated in cheap markets like the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and the UAE. 45k installs, 0 ratings, 0 reviews. The same factory pushed 3 packages in the same category in the same week. Meta and Google's ad libraries show no tracked ads (both libraries only track products on their lists).
  • Confirmed Store search ASO: title "Satellite & Live Map", package name liveearth.satelliteview, using the same keyword set as the same factory's EarthVista.
  • Confirmed Small-account matrix, rotating packages: at least 21 apps share the qtonz.com privacy policy and the qzeegames.com website, spread across 10 accounts including Lovo Software, QZEE GAMES LLP, and MBit Music Inc. GlobeNav's privacy policy page is literally named zonetrackprivacypolicy. The Lovo account also has the same product, OrbView.
  • Inferred TikTok / X / content: searching TikHub for "GlobeNav" returns 0 results; x-radar returns 30 posts in the last 0 days.

Why GlobeNav: Satellite & Live Map (com.globenav.liveearth.satelliteview) got traction

Bottom line

It didn't get traction on the product. It came from the Qtonz Infosoft / Qzee Games "small-account matrix" app factory around Surat, India, which mass-produces reskinned packages in the old "Live Earth Map / satellite map" category on Google Play. It launched 9-29. From late October it began climbing the Maps & Navigation chart in cheap acquisition markets together: the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the UAE, and India. It added about 7k installs in 41 days. Revenue comes from AdMob (the app is labeled as containing ads, with no in-app purchases). The same factory pushed ZoneTrack (family location, #9 in the Philippines) and Phone Tracker (#16) in the same category, the same week. The same account also has a nearly identical OrbView: Satellite & Live Map.

1. Data (googleplay library, 2026-10-29 to 11-06)

  • Cumulative installs (global, exact): 10-29 is 4,664; 10-31 is 7,903; 11-02 is 31,202 (+23,299 that day); 11-03 is 38,114; 11-06 is 45,436. Added 7 new installs in 40,772 days. Install tier went from "1,000+" to "10,000+".
  • The rating count has always been empty (45k installs and still no displayable rating). The recent review sample is 0.
  • No updates since version 1.4,10-12. ad_supported = True, offers_iap = False.
  • Charts (Maps & Navigation, Top Free), 9 regions climbing together from 10-29:
    • Philippines 40 → 12; Saudi Arabia 94 → 25; Malaysia 68 → 19 (11-03), 11-06 back to 31; Indonesia 37 → 11 (11-01), 11-06 back to 43; UAE 80 → 32; India 124 → 41; Singapore 67 → 42; Italy 169 → 133; South Africa 114 → 81,11-06, back to 146.
    • The climb rhythm is nearly identical across regions, and users are concentrated in the cheap-acquisition markets of Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and India. It looks more like Google App Campaigns scaling spend than organic traffic from a piece of content. That's an inference; see "Growth tactics" below.
  • Among the top 20 free Maps & Navigation apps in the Philippines (rank 11-06), this one factory accounts for 3 of them: ZoneTrack at #9, GlobeNav at #12, and Phone Tracker - Location App at #16.

2. Who's behind it: the Qtonz app factory (multi-account matrix)

  • The developer account is Lovo Software, and the developer website is listed as qzeegames.com (Qzee Games, an Indian game studio; QZEE GAMES LLP was registered with the Ahmedabad company registrar in 2024-05-21. Sources: zaubacorp.com/company/ACH-2586, qzeegames.com).
  • Privacy policy is hosted at sites.google.com/qtonz.com/zonetrackprivacypolicy. qtonz.com belongs to Qtonz Infosoft Pvt Ltd (founded 2013, India, founder Piyush Kasundra, who also built MBit Music with 10M downloads). GlobeNav reuses the same ZoneTrack privacy policy page, which suggests both came from the same team and the same batch of apps.
  • In our googleplay database, at least 21 apps share the qtonz.com privacy policy, the qzeegames.com website, and the same email addresses. They are spread across 10 developer accounts: Lovo Software, QZEE GAMES LLP, MBit Music Inc., Vuay Online Services, Austin Devs., Sai Jyothi App, NITESH, PK Master, Invoker Apps, and others. The categories are all utility and traffic plays: call blockers (11.8M installs), WiFi password apps (1.16M), Quran apps, video players, short drama, AI palm reading, IPTV, screen mirroring, PDF tools, family locators, satellite maps... Most launched in 2026 between 5 and September and quickly reached hundreds of thousands of installs.
  • In the maps category, its older sibling is EarthVista: Location App from QZEE GAMES LLP (com.worldmap.liveearth.satelliteview). It launched 2026-07-13, has 545k installs, and gained 7k over 30.7 days. GlobeNav's package name com.globenav.liveearth.satelliteview is nearly identical, with only the prefix changed.
  • The Lovo Software account has 7 apps on Play: Mirrolux screen mirroring, GlobeNav, ClipNex video vault, three short dramas (VoxDrama, CineShort, ReelDrop), and OrbView: Satellite & Live Map (com.orbview.satelliteview.liveearth). OrbView has essentially the same features and copy as GlobeNav and is not yet in our chart database (source: Play developer page, 2026-11-06 crawl).
  • Qtonz's playbook has Google's official endorsement. A Firebase case study says Qtonz used Firebase and AdMob to tune ad frequency by audience segment, growing ad revenue 4x and ARPDAU 190% (source: firebase.google.com/case-studies/qtonz-mbit-music). The studio's strength is AdMob monetization and paid acquisition that pays back.

3. Competitors (same idea: 3D Earth / satellite maps / live webcams / GPS speedometer)

This category is a red ocean on Google Play, mostly utility studios from India, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Turkey that monetize through ads (figures from the googleplay database app_profile, 2026-11-06):

Big-tech alternatives: Google Earth and the satellite layers and Street View in Google Maps are free and higher quality. For live webcams there are sites and apps like EarthCam, Windy Webcams, and SkylineWebcams. GlobeNav uses public third-party map and camera sources, as its own disclaimer states.

4. Growth tactics

  • Paid acquisition (inferred, medium confidence): four pieces of evidence. First, 9 store listings started crawling the charts on the same day. Second, the installs cluster in markets with cheap Google App Campaigns CPIs: the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. Third, 45k installs, 0 rating, and 0 reviews, with no sign of organic word of mouth. Fourth, the same studio pushed 3 apps in the same category in the same week. Our Meta and Google ad libraries did not track these package names. Those two libraries only track products on our list, so a miss doesn't mean no spend.
  • Store search ASO: the titles stack Satellite and Live Map, and the package names include liveearth and satelliteview. They target high-volume terms like "live earth map" and "satellite view", the same keyword set EarthVista uses.
  • Account matrix: the same category runs several packages at once (EarthVista, GlobeNav, OrbView) across different accounts. If one gets rejected or demoted, the others keep running. When one package performs, more budget goes into it.
  • TikTok / X / Reddit: a TikHub search for "GlobeNav" returns 0 videos; x-radar returns 30 posts in the last 0 days. The rest of the web has only automated pages from APK aggregators like AppBrain, Softonic, and CNET. We found no evidence of organic content or creator-driven traffic.

5. Why it took off

  1. Category demand already exists. "Live Earth Map", "satellite view", and "live webcams" have long-running search volume and installs in emerging markets, and the top products sit in the tens of millions. Any new reskin can capture some of it.
  2. The studio's acquisition and AdMob monetization model is already proven (the Firebase case, with call blockers reaching 11.8M installs). A new package only needs the template and a paid campaign.
  3. Rotating packages: EarthVista launched in July and reached 540k. GlobeNav launched in 9-29 and scaled in late October. OrbView is on standby. GlobeNav's growth looks more like the studio rotating its budget onto this package.

6. Differentiation

Features are a mix of 3D Earth, live webcams, landmarks, GPS speedometer, compass, and currency conversion, nearly identical to TarrySoft, Vertix, and Aykonu. The difference is in copy and icon, which are a bit more branded (a single word brand name like GlobeNav instead of a long keyword string). Differentiation is not why it took off. The reason is the studio's distribution and budget.

7. Visibility and copycats

  • Revenue is not public. There's no press coverage, and X and TikTok have 0 mentions. From a product standpoint, nobody knows this app.
  • It also sits in a crowded category full of copycats. EarthVista and OrbView are clones from the same studio. Other apps launched around the same time include GambiSoftVn's Live Cam Earth Map (9-17), Aykonu, SING HAI, and many more.

8. What to borrow

  • Multi-account, multi-package volume spread across categories: shared privacy policy templates and code base, 2–3 reskinned packages in one category, with ad data deciding which package gets more budget.
  • Buy installs in low-CPI markets (the Philippines, Indonesia, India, the Middle East) through Google App Campaigns to push category charts, then use AdMob to tune ad frequency by audience and pay back (Qtonz's own Firebase case).
  • Pick "curiosity tool" categories with stable demand and large search volume (look at Earth, look at webcams, test speed). The features can all be assembled from public data sources.

9. Uncertain

  • There is no direct evidence of paid acquisition or how much was spent (neither the Meta nor Google ad library tracks it). This part is inference.
  • Retention and ARPDAU are unknown. The 0 rating may suggest low-intent traffic.
  • The legal relationship between Lovo Software and Qtonz / Qzee (subsidiary, co-publishing, or account lending) is unverified. For now the evidence is only shared website domains, privacy policy domains, and templates.
  • OrbView's launch date and install count are unverified.
