> It picked Nigeria and South Africa, markets with cheap installs and strong betting demand, where the Sports category chart has a low bar. Over a thousand installs a day was enough to chart. The install curve turns on and off, which looks like day-by-day ad buying pushed it up (inferred).

GoalEdge Football Predictions · BORASOFT LIMITED

# A football prediction app with a "88% accuracy" claim got 25k installs in five weeks. GoalEdge isn't selling predictions; it's cheap installs in Nigeria and South Africa

**What it is** An Android app that gives "AI predictions" for football matches: a daily call and confidence score for several games, plus match stats and a track record you can review. Free to download; it earns from ads and $9.99–59.99 VIP in-app purchases.

**Why it took off** It targeted Nigeria and South Africa, where installs are cheap and betting demand is high. The Sports category chart there has a low bar: a thousand-plus installs a day is enough to chart. The install curve starts and stops, which looks like day-by-day ad spend pushing it up (inferred).

**C** **How you could approach it** Don't build the 40th identical app. If you want to test, go to countries or languages it hasn't saturated (Ghana, Swahili, West African French). Or build a web product with a WhatsApp / Telegram channel for subscriptions, make the track record publicly verifiable, and spend a small budget on the category chart for one or two weeks to see if it pays back.

Grade C: the playbook is easy to see and the barrier is low, but the product has no differentiation. Batches of reskinned apps built on the same template have been flooding the store for 2026 years. There's no public revenue evidence, and it carries Play gambling-policy takedown risk. Suitable for a team with existing paid acquisition and multiple accounts to test on the side, not for chasing it. Few people know about it yet

Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-09-30 · 11-07 installs 25,698

Android · Total installs worldwide

Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.

GoalEdge Football Predictions launched on Google Play in Sep 30, reached 6 cumulative installs by Nov 25,698, and grew +7 over the last 11,542 days. It has sat on the Sports free chart in Nigeria and South Africa every day. Its features are indistinguishable from dozens of other "AI football prediction" apps, it has no visible rating, and nobody discusses it outside the store. It took off because it found a market where installs are cheap and the chart bar is low. It was most likely bought. Below: how it grew, where the money comes from, how crowded the niche is, and whether you should follow it.

### "Barcelona vs Bayern Munich" in a screenshot

The second screenshot on the GoalEdge store page is an iPhone (this is an Android app), with the header "TODAY'S INSIGHTS": 3 matches today, 88% accuracy, 7 wins in a row. The card below is the Belgian "Belisia Bilzen Sv vs Ksk Heist", with the AI call "High-scoring match likely" at 88% confidence. Further down is "Barcelona vs Bayern Munich, Wed, 30 Sept". The fourth screenshot is "Performance History": 22 correct, 3 wrong, with one match labeled "UEFA National League, Turkey vs Italy", misspelling Nations League (Google Play store page screenshot, 11-06).

Sep 30 is exactly the day it launched, so the screenshots were most likely rushed together around launch (inferred). The template is heavy: dark blue background, neon green, "Fast. Clean. Intelligent." The last two lines of the store description are carefully worded: "GoalEdge is a platform providing football analysis information. It does not offer gambling or betting services… Predictions are for reference and entertainment only."

The developer is BORASOFT LIMITED, registered in Kenya. A company with the same name is a legitimate ICT consultancy that worked on a World Bank-funded avocado industry project. But this Play account also hosts a loan calculator, task-for-money apps and a game-mod collection, which looks like mass publishing. Whether they run the account themselves or lent or sold it to someone else can't be seen from outside.

### What it is

A match-prediction app: each day it gives "AI calls" for several games, saying a home team is in form or a match is likely high-scoring, with a confidence score. It also has match stats, recent form, and history you can review to see "how many you got right". Free to download, with AdMob ads (the store page says it contains ads, and the privacy policy names AdMob). VIP in-app purchases are $9.99–59.99 each.

Almost nothing about it truly differs from its peers. "AI predictions", "recent form" and "accuracy tracking" all appear everywhere. Even the GoalEdge name is shared by at least 3–4 unrelated developers on Play and third-party stores ("GoalEdge Vip", "Goal Edge VIP", "GoalEdge Football Betting Tips", sourced from AppBrain, APKPure and Aptoide pages).

### What its install curve looks like

| Timeline | Roughly how many installs per day | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| 09-30 to 10-17 | Ten to twenty-odd a day, about 18 in total over 1,560 days | AppstoreSpy estimate |
| From ¥10-18 | 366 → 567 → 10-21, a single day at 3,270, then a thousand-plus a day since | AppstoreSpy estimate |
| 10-28 | Nearly zero (+10) | AppstoreSpy estimate |
| 10-29 to 11-04 | about 1,200–1,800 per day | AppstoreSpy estimate |
| 11-05, 11-06 | About 650 a day | AppstoreSpy estimate |
| 11-06 cumulative | 25,698, +11,542 in the last 7 days | Google Play |

For the first 18 days almost nobody downloaded it. On day 19 it suddenly spiked, paused for a day, then resumed, and lately it's trending down. Organic word-of-mouth growth usually climbs gradually, so this stop-start step pattern looks more like a daily-capped ad budget switched on and off (inferred, no direct evidence).

Another signal is ratings. 25k installs, and Play shows no rating at all, with no reviews. Two other new products in the same period, TipsGo and SHINK's AI Football Score Prediction, look the same. Either nobody is reviewing, or Play hides ratings when there are too few. Both suggest its users aren't very engaged.

### Where users come from

**Category chart.** Since Oct 29, it has sat on the Sports Top Free charts in Nigeria and South Africa every day. Its best spot was #51 in Nigeria (11-01) and #53 in South Africa (10-31), and 11-06 both countries have since dropped to #83 (Google Play chart). The bar on this chart is low: 11-06 holding #40–100 on the Nigeria Sports Top Free chart, most apps only gain 1–30K installs over 7 days. Around a thousand-plus installs a day is enough to hold a spot between #50 and #80. The neighbors on the chart are betting apps like Betway, BetWinner and AfroPari, which suggests that in these two countries, most people opening the Sports chart are there to place bets.

**Paid acquisition.** The install curve, no ratings and zero off-store buzz all point to paid user acquisition, possibly Google app promotion or incentivized install networks (inferred). The developer website field lists a generic domain that hosts app-ads.txt, the standard setup for AdMob monetization.

**What's missing.** Searching "goaledge" on TikTok turns up nothing relevant, and X has 60 posts in the last 0 days. Instagram has an @goaledge_predictions account with 58 followers, but it's unclear if it's the same company. The web platform goaledge.net, with the same name, takes subscriptions through Paystack and Flutterwave and targets Africa, but the app's privacy policy is on a blogspot page that doesn't match, so it's more likely a different company.

### Where the money comes from

Two legs: ads, plus VIP. $9.99–59.99 per in-app purchase, several times more expensive than the established BetMines ($0.99–19.99). The logic: installs are cheap in Nigeria and South Africa, local fans are used to paying for "banker" tips (the local term for high-confidence picks), so a few people buying a $59.99 VIP once pays back a batch of installs, and the rest see ads.

That's the math on paper. How many people pay, and whether the acquisition makes or loses money, isn't visible from outside. It doesn't appear on any top-grossing chart.

### Who it's competing with

The niche has been crowded for a long time, and 2026 brought a wave of new "AI"-branded apps (Google Play, 11-06):

| Product | Launched | Cumulative installs / last 7 days | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| BetMines Betting Predictions | 2019-03 | 7.14M / +18k | Established, 77k ratings, cheap in-app purchases |
| Football Predictions Forebet | 2014-09 | 3.56M / +13k | Backed by the forebet.com website, relies on SEO and brand |
| 180Score AI Soccer Predictions | 2024-03 | 2.92M / +24k | Has charted on Vietnam's Sports top grossing, so it's proven to earn |
| WIN Betting Predictions | 2023-06 | 790k / +17k | Also targets South Africa mainly, 20k ratings |
| MatchIQ: Ai Soccer Predictions | 2025-04 | 220k / +24k | Adopted the "AI" label early, covers Thailand and Nigeria |
| Correct Score Tips AI series | 2026-04 to 06 | each 3.5–130k / each +6–8 thousand | at least 6 nearly identical apps, spread across several "AI Developer" accounts, mass-spamming the stores |
| TipsGo: AI Predictions | 2026-08 | 83k / +11k | almost the same playbook as GoalEdge: mainly Nigeria, no visible ratings, in-app purchases up to $99.99 |
| ScoreGPT AI Football Predictor | 2026-06 | 60k / +9.4 thousand | riding the "GPT" name, in-app purchases $19.99–69.99 |
| Goal Signal: AI Football Tips | 2026-06 | 20k / +4.6 thousand | mainly Turkey, in-app purchases up to $144.99 |

GoalEdge's 7-day growth ranks near the top of this year's new batch, but its cumulative installs are still under 1% of the leaders. It's not the first to do this, nor the biggest. It's just another copy of the same template.

### If it were you

**In one line:** worth studying, not worth chasing. This is a business of who buys traffic more cheaply and who has more accounts. The product itself has no moat, others are already copying it in bulk, and there's no public evidence it makes money.

**Who it suits:** small teams already running Google Play paid acquisition, with ready-made prediction templates and several developer accounts, already doing the "reskinned app × low-cost countries" play. For them it's just one more category and one more set of countries to test.

**Who it doesn't suit:** indie devs hoping to differentiate through the product. Users in this category want "will today's match win," not a better interface. It's also a bad fit for anyone without paid acquisition experience or spare accounts: Play is strict about gambling-adjacent content, and once an account gets hit, the whole project stops.

**How to do it:** If you really want to try, don't build the 40th "AI football prediction" app. There are three areas with a bit of room. First, go to countries and languages that aren't saturated yet, like Ghana, or do Swahili for Kenya and Tanzania, and French for West Africa. Second, build a web product plus WhatsApp and Telegram channels, and take subscriptions via Paystack or Flutterwave. That sidesteps Play's policies and its cut, and local tipster sites already work this way. Third, make the "accuracy" claim real and publicly verifiable. Few in this category do that, and it's the only place where you could actually earn reputation. Keep the "for reference only, not gambling" line in the listing either way.

**How to get users:** copy their approach: small budget, paid placements in the Sports category in Nigeria and South Africa, over a thousand installs a day to land on a chart and pick up some chart exposure. If you build a web version, drive traffic by posting picks daily on social media and channels.

**When to move:** no rush, and no window to speak of. People have run this play since 2014, and 2026 just swapped in the "AI" label. If you want to test, do it mid-season in the major European leagues (now through next May); off-season data is unreliable.

**Signs you've misread it:** ① after a week or two of spend, the cost of a thousand installs exceeds what VIP brings back, and several rounds of creative and country changes haven't helped; ② within weeks of launch, Play removes or warns the app under gambling policy; ③ a dozen identical new releases crowd the same chart, pushing the daily install bar past what you can afford; ④ conversely, if GoalEdge or TipsGo ever enters the top grossing charts in Nigeria or South Africa, it proves the high-priced VIP route works, and this assessment should be revised upward.

## Why GoalEdge Football Predictions (com.goaledgeai.footballpredicts) showed up

> Channel: Google Play · Developer: BORASOFT LIMITED (self-described Kenyan company) · Launched 2026-09-30 · Research date 2026-11-06

### Bottom line

It's a reskinned prediction app riding the "AI football predictions" label: content and features are much like its peers. In 5 weeks since launch, it has racked up 25.7k installs, apparently via **low-cost installs plus category charts in Nigeria and South Africa (possibly Kenya too)** . The growth curve comes in uneven bursts, the store shows no ratings, there's zero off-store buzz, and the developer's other apps are a loan calculator, earn-money-by-tasks apps, and game mod collections. All of this points to paid or mass acquisition, not a product spreading organically. It's still small: among 2026's batch of new AI prediction apps, its 7-day growth ranks near the top, but cumulative installs are under 1% of the category leaders.

### 1. Data (googleplay library, 2026-11-06)

- Total installs 25,698, last 7 days +11,542; store tier 10,000+; **rating count empty** (Play doesn't show ratings); no review sample.

- Version 1.8, last updated 2026-10-10; has ads (ad_supported=True); in-app purchases **$9.99 – $59.99 each** .

- Charts: every day since 2026-10-29 on the Sports free charts in Nigeria and South Africa; best rank was NG #51 (11-01) and ZA #53 (10-31); both countries have since slipped to #11-06 83; 11-01 hit #196 in Hong Kong Sports once.

- Daily installs since launch (AppstoreSpy estimate, `app_day_ext`):
    - 09-30 to 10-17: about 1,560 total, a dozen to twenty-odd per day;
    - **Scaled up from 10-18** : 366 → 567 → 10-21 that day 3,270 → just over a thousand a day → 10-25 that day 2,606 → 781; 10-27 cumulative 14,146;
    - **Nearly stalled on 10-28 (+10)** , then from 10-29 recovered to about 1,200–1,800,11-05/06 a day, falling back to about 650 a day.
    - This stepped pattern, with bursts, a pause of a day, then bursts again, fits day-by-day budget switching on paid spend; organic growth tends to climb gradually. There's no direct evidence for this, it's an inference.

- Chart benchmark: 11-06 Nigeria Sports free chart, ranks 40–100, most apps gain between 10k and 30k over 7 days (same table). In other words, a thousand-plus installs a day lands you at #50–80. The bar for this category chart is low.

### 2. Competitors (same thing: football match predictions / betting tips, free download + VIP in-app purchases)

googleplay library 2026-11-06, SPORTS category apps with predict / tips / betting in the name:

| Product | Platform | Launched | Scale (total / 7 days) | How it differs from GoalEdge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BetMines Betting Predictions | Android | 2019-03 | 7.14M / +18k, 77k ratings | established, well-reviewed, cheap in-app purchases ($0.99–19.99) |
| Football Predictions Forebet | Android + web at forebet.com | 2014-09 | 3.56M / +13k | backed by the long-running Forebet site, relies on SEO and brand, no in-app purchases |
| 180Score AI Soccer Predictions | Android | 2024-03 | 2.92M / +24k | has charted in Vietnam's Sports top grossing, already proven to make money |
| WIN Betting Predictions(Micom Tech) | Android | 2023-06 | 790k / +17k | Also targets South Africa mainly, 20k ratings |
| MatchIQ: Ai Soccer Predictions | Android | 2025-04 | 220k / +24k | an early adopter of the "AI" label, covers Thailand / Nigeria |
| 360Score AI Predictions | Android | 2025-05 | 490k / +7 thousand | unit price $6.99 |
| Correct Score Tips AI(Analysis / VIP / Analyzer / Daily / Football / Power…) | Android | 2026-04 to 06 | each 35k–130k / each +6–8 thousand | at least 6 nearly identical apps, spread across accounts like "UYGULAMA GELİŞTİRİCİ," "AI DEVELOPER AI APPS," "App Developer AI," "AI App Developer," a classic mass-spam pattern |
| TipsGo: AI Predictions | Android | 2026-08 | 83k / +11k | same release batch, also no visible ratings, mainly Nigeria, in-app purchases up to $99.99 |
| ScoreGPT AI Football Predictor | Android | 2026-06 | 60k / +9.4 thousand | riding the "GPT" name, in-app purchases $19.99–69.99 |
| AI Football Score Prediction(SHINK) | Android | 2026-05 | 86k / +7.9 thousand | mainly South Africa, no visible ratings |
| Goal Signal: AI Football Tips | Android | 2026-06 | 20k / +4.6 thousand | mainly Turkey, in-app purchases up to $144.99 |
| The same-named "GoalEdge" | Android | Unknown | — | Betting Tips Development's "GoalEdge Football Betting Tips" (com.football.footballbettingtips, 4.3 points in Google search results), com.fixed.goaledgevip "GoalEdge Vip", com.goaledgevip.football1 "Football Predictions: GoalEdge", Insider Officials' "Goal Edge VIP". This brand name is used by several unrelated developers (source: the AppBrain, APKPure and Aptoide pages in the Jina search results). |
| goaledge.net | Web | Unknown | Unknown | A same-named web prediction platform: Bayesian engine, 21 leagues, 60 betting market types, payments via Stripe / Paystack / Flutterwave (aimed at Africa). **Its relationship to BORASOFT is unverified.** This app's privacy policy is hosted on blogspot, not goaledge.net, so it's more likely a different company. |
| Web tipster sites (eaglepredict.com, bankerai.ng, etc.) | Web | — | — | Relies on SEO and social media posts showing winning picks (the bankerai.ng claim comes from a recalled card and is unverified) |

Takeaway: this niche is already crowded, and in 2026 years a wave of "AI"-labeled reskinned apps has appeared. GoalEdge is neither the first nor the largest.

### 3. Growth tactics: where users come from

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Paid acquisition / install ads (likely Google App promotion or incentivized install offers such as offerwalls, targeting Nigeria and South Africa) | Daily installs come in steps, and 10-28 stopped for a day (AppstoreSpy estimate). 25.7k installs but no visible rating. No off-store buzz at all. The developer_website field points to a generic domain hosting an app-ads.txt file (le096c971.app-ads-txt.com), a config used specifically for AdMob monetization. | Inferred, not confirmed |
| Category chart exposure | Ranked #51–83 on the NG / ZA Sports Top Free chart. The bar is low (over a thousand installs a day), and charting brings a little organic traffic inside the store. | Confirmed on the chart; how much traffic it brings is unclear |
| Store search | The title stuffs in the keyword "Football Predictions", and the one-line blurb reads "AI-powered football tips, match predictions" | Inferred |
| Social / creators | A TikHub search for "goaledge" found no related videos. x-radar shows 0 posts in the last 60 days. The Instagram account @goaledge_predictions has only 58 followers, and it's unclear whether it's the same company. | Confirmed no buzz |
| Ad libraries | Neither metaads nor googleads returns GoalEdge or BORASOFT. These libraries only track products on their list, so no results doesn't mean no ads were run. | No evidence |

**Where the money comes from** : two streams. First, AdMob ads (the privacy policy names AdMob, and the store listing says it contains ads). Second, VIP in-app purchases at up to $59.99, billed through Google Play Billing. Install costs in Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya are very low, and fans there have a habit of paying for "sure-win" or "banker" tips, so only a small share of users needs to buy VIP to break even. Specific unit costs and conversion rates are unverified.

### 4. Why it took off

1. **Cheap market, strong demand** : Nigeria and South Africa have large sports-betting audiences. The same category chart is full of betting apps like Betway, BetWinner and AfroPari, so demand for "predictions / sure tips" is constant. Install costs are low, and the chart bar is low too (see section 1).

2. **Paid acquisition pushed it onto the chart** : 10-18 spiked in volume, 10-28 paused for a day, then it resumed. The curve looks like a daily-toggled ad budget, which matches its steady chart presence over time (googleplay library, AppstoreSpy estimate).

3. **Template plus near-zero dev cost** : the page copy is generic "AI-powered football analysis". The developer account also publishes a loan calculator, a make-money-by-tasks app and game mods, a typical multi-category spray-and-pray account. In 10 days it went from listing to version 1.8, and then stopped updating.

4. **High-priced VIP plus ads monetization** : $9.99–59.99 in-app purchases, far pricier than the established BetMines ($0.99–19.99), relying on a few buyers at high prices to pay back.

5. **Compliance wording** : the description explicitly says "no betting services, for reference and entertainment only", aimed at surviving Play's gambling policy (quoted from the Play listing).

### 5. Differentiation

**Basically none.** "AI predictions", "match data" and "recent form" are all things every competitor offers. The GoalEdge name isn't unique to it either; at least 3–4 other developers have used similar names. It grew through **paid acquisition and market choice** , not through product differences. If anything stands out, it's a somewhat higher IAP price than comparable new launches and a focus on NG / ZA. But those are go-to-market choices, not product differences.

### 6. How many people know about it

**Few people know about it yet.** Revenue isn't public, no media has covered it, there are 0 posts on X and TikTok, and the same-named Instagram account has 58 followers. Copycatting is the norm in this niche, though: at least 6 "Correct Score Tips AI"-style apps launched in 2026, plus TipsGo, ScoreGPT, AI Football Score Prediction and others. The same model keeps getting spun up. We found no one copying GoalEdge specifically.

### 7. What to borrow

- The combination of "English-speaking African football fans × AI predictions × high-priced VIP": cheap installs and a low chart bar, so a thousand-plus installs in a day can land an app on the Sports charts in Nigeria and South Africa.

- The description says clearly "for reference only, not betting", which gets it past Play review.

- A matrix play: the same template under different names, run across several accounts, each buying tens of thousands of installs, and when one fails you move on to the next.

### 8. Still unclear

- Whether it was paid acquisition and which channel it bought (Google UAC, offerwalls, Telegram group promotion?). No direct evidence.

- Whether the missing ratings are real (nobody is rating) or Play simply hides ratings below a minimum count. TipsGo and SHINK, both new launches, also show no ratings.

- How many people actually pay for VIP, and whether ROI is positive or negative. Unknown.

- Whether goaledge.net and @goaledge_predictions are the same company.

- The recalled card says it reached the top 50 on the Kenya chart. Our library has no Kenya region, so this can't be checked.

- BORASOFT LIMITED is a legitimately registered Kenyan ICT consultancy (borasoft.co.ke, which worked on a World Bank-funded avocado value-chain consulting project). Whether it runs this Play account itself, or lends or sells the account to someone else, is unknown.
