A few hundred installs a day is enough to chart: Hirova is a test shell in a video-dating reskin matrix, 16k installs in two months
What it is A random cross-border video dating App published by a Shenzhen company, selling coins ($1.99–$199.99 per pack) for video chats. It uses the same copy template as Rubo and Seylo under the same developer account.
Why it took off It didn't really take off: through waves of small paid acquisition (inferred) and ratings that were all 4–5 stars with no written reviews, it squeezed into the low-barrier tail of the Vietnam social Top Free chart. A few hundred installs a day was enough to reach #121.
DHow you could follow Not recommended. Teams already doing video dating with their own host supply could borrow its approach of using the tail of the Vietnam and Malaysia social charts as a cheap place to test new shells and creatives. Teams without supply should stay out: a dozen or more ten-million-install rivals sit ahead in this category.

Hirova is a cross-border random video dating App that launched in Sep 3. By Nov 6 it had 15.9k installs and reached #121 on the Vietnam Google Play social Top Free chart. It looks like it's growing, but it hasn't really broken out: two nearly identical Apps sit under the same developer account, and its ratings are too clean to be real. Growth comes in waves, as if it were bought in batches. What's worth looking at isn't the App itself, but the approach behind it, "mass-produce reskins and push into the low tail of the charts", and why that approach isn't worth copying.
#121, with ten-million-install rivals on either side
In Nov 2026 6, the Vietnam Google Play social Top Free chart at #100 to #140 was almost entirely video chat and live dating: #100 Bling (16.8M installs), #118 SoLive (25.1M), #120 Buzar (9.83M), #124 Bermuda (46.3M). Sitting in between at #121 was Hirova, with 15,856 installs in total (Google Play, 11-06).
The day before it was at #172; on 11-01 it appeared at #187 on the Malaysia social Top Free chart. It has never made the Top Grossing chart in any country.
The gap between it and the Apps around it is two to three orders of magnitude: Bling adds 100k installs a week, while Hirova adds 2,958 a week, under 600 a day on average. A few hundred installs a day is enough to squeeze into the top 130 of the Vietnam social chart. That shows not how strong it is, but how low the bar for that position is.
What it is: one piece of copy, one color palette
The store page description opens like this: "Hirova brings a fresh take to spontaneous video connections across borders, created for a new generation..." Then comes "Inspired by electric teal, cosmic indigo, and soft silver," followed by interest matching, random video, and posting daily photos. It sells coins, in-app purchases of $1.99 to $199.99 per pack, with no ads. This is the same model as the common "spend coins per minute of video call" setup in 1v1 video dating.
The version number has stayed at 1.0.0. It was updated once in Sep 4 and hasn't changed in the two months since. The store page is English only, yet its only chart-topping market is Vietnam.
Triplets under one account
Opening the developer "Shenzhen Xingyu Chenzhi Technology Co., Ltd." on Google Play shows three Apps (11-06):
| App | Bundle ID | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| Rubo – Real Global Encounters | com.rubo.oracle | 4.4 stars, 481 ratings, 10k+ downloads (AppBrain) |
| Seylo – Sincere Global Social | com.seylo.zenith | 5,000+ downloads (AppBrain) |
| Hirova: Redefine Social Life | com.hirova.orbis | 15,856 installs |
The three descriptions use the same template: each opens with "redefines / reinvents / brings a fresh take to cross-border video socializing for young generations," then the second paragraph swaps in a different color scheme. Rubo is "fog gray, milk white, dusk blue", Seylo is "fog purple, soft silver, shallow sea blue", and Hirova is "electric teal, cosmic indigo, soft silver." After that comes "no filters, no performing, no fake personas." It looks like one AI prompt rewritten with different words each time.
The package names follow the same pattern: a brand name plus an astrology word (orbis, oracle, zenith). Other developer accounts also have Zelio (com.zelio.lumina) and Corya (com.corya.nova), whose descriptions all say "global video-first social platform." Whether the same people run them rests only on the similarity of names and copy; unverified.
The developer details are also pieced together loosely: the store says Shenzhen company, the contact email is a personal gmail with a Vietnamese name, and the data controller in the privacy policy is listed as "Ngọc Nhi | Hirova Development Company," with the address "412 Joy Lane, Los Angeles" (filch.hirova.net privacy policy). A Shenzhen company, a Vietnamese name, and a Los Angeles address together are a common shell-publishing setup.
Where the traffic comes from: in waves, not like organic growth
Install counts rise in jumps (October figures are AppstoreSpy estimates, November figures are Google Play installs):
| Date | Total installs |
|---|---|
| 09-03 | Launched |
| 10-02 | About 2,700 |
| 10-13 | About 6,100 (+1,325 that day) |
| 10-20 | About 9,300 (+1,592 that day) |
| 10-31 | About 12,900 |
| 11-06 | 15,856 |
On 10-13 and 10-20 each, it jumped by more than a thousand in a single day, while several days in between stayed close to zero. Yet there is no organic buzz to be found online: searching "Hirova" only returns aggregator pages like APKPure, Softonic and AppBrain, there is not a single related video on TikTok, and zero posts on X in nearly 30 days. An App with no content, no word of mouth, and no updates for two months still gains installs in bursts. The most plausible explanation is small paid acquisition or incentivized installs (inferred; no ads from it show up in ad libraries, but it isn't in the tracked set either, so not finding ads doesn't mean there were none).
After charting, it picked up some organic store traffic, rising from #11-05 to #11-06 between 172 and 121. How many of the installs in that stretch came from the chart itself can't be separated out.
4.85 stars, not a single written review
Hirova has 4.85,318 ratings. The distribution: 5 stars for 269, 4 stars for 48, none at 1 to 3 stars, and zero written reviews (Google Play, 11-06). Ratings count is about 2% of installs, where a typical App sits around 1%.
A real video dating App doesn't look like this: someone always complains about matching with bots or coins costing too much. The most likely cause is an in-app prompt asking for a rating (for example, with coins as a reward), or straight-up fake ratings; which one is unverified. The effect of high scores is direct: when paid traffic lands on the store page, conversion is higher.
Who it's competing with
| Product | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | How Hirova differs |
|---|---|---|
| Bermuda, SoLive, Bling, Buzar | 9.83M–46.3M installs, each adding 4–100k a week | Real host supply, Vietnamese localization, large-scale paid acquisition |
| Poca (2025-09 launch), Koko (2026-04 launch) | 7.07M / 1.52M, each adding about 200k a week | The new generation that rose at the same time has already reached the millions |
| XVXX Live and other developer accounts with Vietnamese-name gmails | 18–350k each | Openly running a matrix, grey-area, placed in the dating category |
| Rubo, Seylo, Zelio, Corya | Thousands to tens of thousands | Parallel reskins: not copying it, but being tested alongside it |
Since June 2025, the Apps that launched with descriptions mentioning "random video / 1v1 video / across borders" have had 60 or more video dating Apps among the top 50 by installs. Hirova is among the smallest of them.
How well known is it?
Almost no one knows about it: no media coverage, zero discussion on social platforms, and no public revenue. But that isn't good news here. It's not that no one noticed the opportunity; the category is already crowded, so a small shell going unnoticed is normal.
If it were you
Verdict: understand it, don't copy it. Hirova isn't a product that worked; it's a test shell in a matrix that never broke through. It reached #121 because the bottom of the Vietnam social chart has a low bar and each new shell comes with a launch budget, not because the product is different.
One lesson worth taking: on social Top Free charts in markets like Vietnam and Malaysia, a few hundred installs a day is enough to chart at #100. If you already have a video dating or voice chat product and want to test new markets or creatives cheaply, this is an inexpensive testing ground. Running several same-template Apps under one account, swapping names and colors, then spending more on whichever performs best is also standard practice in this space.
Who it's for: teams already doing 1v1 video dating that have their own host supply and payment channels, using it as a reference for how low the bar is at the tail of the chart.
Who it's not for: indie developers and small teams without hosts or companion supply. The money in this kind of App is all on the "someone to chat with you" side; anyone can copy the shell, but followers can't get the supply. There are also a dozen or more ten-million-install rivals buying traffic on the same charts.
If you must build it: don't go for a "cross-border youth social" positioning that anyone could write. Do the parts it hasn't done: Vietnamese localization (Hirova only has an English page), ongoing updates, and a real review section. Even so, you'd be starting from zero on Bermuda's and Bling's turf.
Risk: 1v1 video dating is a category Google Play reviews closely. Zero written reviews, a rating distribution with no low stars, and a privacy policy whose entity looks made up are all signals that easily get an account flagged for rating manipulation or misleading information, leading to the whole account being pulled.
What would mean you read it wrong:
- Hirova hit 100k installs by year-end, or charted in Vietnam's social Top Grossing, which would mean the shell actually works and is worth studying closely to see what it got right.
- A sibling app under the same developer account, Rubo or Seylo, suddenly accelerates. That means this matrix is picking winners, and the creatives and paid acquisition behind it are worth studying.
- Conversely, if three apps vanish from the store within a few months, that confirms the delisting risk of this path.

Why Hirova: Redefine Social Life (com.hirova.orbis) got any traction
Bottom line
Hirova didn't really take off. It's one of the "cross-border stranger video social" reskins mass-published by a Shenzhen company (Shenzhen Xingyu Chenzhi Technology), alongside Rubo and Seylo, two sibling apps with nearly identical copy. It has been 2026-09-03 listed, has stayed on version 1.0.0, and has accumulated 15.9k installs in two months. Its best rank is Vietnam Social free #121 (Malaysia #187), and the apps ranked around it are Bling, SoLive, Bermuda and Buzar, similar tens-of-millions-install apps. Its rating is 4.85, but of 318 ratings not one has text, and none are 1–3 stars, a sign of fake or prompted ratings. Its growth comes from small paid acquisition (or incentivized installs), plus a low bar on Vietnam's Social chart. The product itself has no differentiation.
Data (googleplay library, 2026-11-01 to 11-06; earlier figures are AppstoreSpy estimates)
- Launched 2026-09-03, version 1.0.0, no updates since listing (updated_at 2026-09-04). In-app purchases $1.99–$199.99 each, no ads.
- Install curve (AppstoreSpy estimate, app_day_ext): 10-02 2,699 → 10-13 6,137 → 10-20 9,344 → 10-31 12,898 → 11-04 15,392. Our own sampling (app_day): 11-01 12,898 → 11-05 15,392 → 11-06 15,856. Over the last 5 days the average is about 590 per day, and the full-period average is about 375 per day. Growth comes in waves: 10-13 one day +1,325,10-20, another day +1,592, with some days in between nearly 0, looking like a series of paid pushes.
- Ratings: 269 (11-01) → 318 (11-06), average 4.82→4.85. Star distribution (app_snap histogram, 11-06) is 1–5 stars [0, 0, 0, 48, 269], written_reviews = 0: none of the 318 ratings has a written review, and not one is 1–3 stars. Ratings are about 2% of installs, where a typical app sits around 1%. Our review table holds 0 reviews for this app.
- Charts (chart_rank): 11-01 Malaysia Social free #187; 11-05 Vietnam Social free #172; 11-06 Vietnam Social free #121. It has never charted in any top-grossing list.
- Vietnam Social free #100–140 (11-06) is almost entirely video chat and live-streaming dating apps: Bling (16.8M installs), SoLive (25.1M), Bermuda (46.3M), Buzar (9.83M), Lit Live, BoldHub, GUROJA and others. Hirova gets into the #121 spot with only a few hundred installs a day, so the bar for that position is very low.
- Developer info: the store lists the developer as Shenzhen Xingyu Chenzhi Technology Co., Ltd., but the contact email is a personal gmail ([email protected]). The privacy policy (filch.hirova.net/privacy_agreement.html) names the data controller as "Ngọc Nhi | Hirova Development Company" at "412 Joy Lane, Los Angeles", which looks made up. A Shenzhen company, a Vietnamese name and a US address together is a common pattern in reskin mass-publishing.
Competitors and sibling apps
Reskin matrix under one developer account (Play developer page, read 2026-11-06):
- Rubo – Real Global Encounters (com.rubo.oracle): 4.4 stars, 481 ratings, AppBrain shows 10k+ downloads. The card cites about 24k installs, up 30 over 4,700 days (unverified).
- Seylo – Sincere Global Social (com.seylo.zenith): AppBrain shows 5,000+ downloads.
- Hirova (com.hirova.orbis): 15.9k installs.
All three listings use the same template: they open with "redefines / reinvents / brings a fresh take to cross-border video socializing for young generations," then describe a color scheme (Rubo "mist gray, milky white and dusk blue," Seylo "fog purple, soft silver and shallow ocean blue," Hirova "electric teal, cosmic indigo, and soft silver"), then "no filters / no performative / no fake personas" and interest matching. It looks like the same person or the same AI prompt, with the wording swapped.
Clones with the same naming from other developer accounts: the package names all follow "brand.star-word." Zelio – Bridge the World Today (com.zelio.lumina, developer SupDevA, store updated 2026-09-01) and Corya – Connect Globally Now (com.corya.nova, updated 2026-09-14) both use the description "live-global video-first social platform built for spontaneous encounters." Whether they share an operator is unverified.
The real competitors (Vietnam and Southeast Asia 1v1 video dating / live-streaming apps): they're two to three orders of magnitude bigger than Hirova (googleplay library, 11-06):
| App | Developer | Installs | 7 new in the last day | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bermuda Trò chuyện video | Bermuda Inc. | 46.3M | 53k | Vietnam Social free #124, long-established |
| SoLive | LOKA (Turkey) | 25.1M | 43k | #118 |
| Bling - Trò chuyện video | JHong Technology | 16.8M | 101k | #100 |
| Buzar: Video Trực Tiếp | Hangzhou Yuhang Nianwu | 9.83M | 56k | #120 |
| Poca-Video Chat & Connect | FRA-N-S DEV | 7.07M | 212k | Listed 2025-09, India Social free #24 |
| Koko - Meet Friend, Live Chat | Nikmatul Global | 1.52M | 194k | Listed 2026-04 |
| XVXX Live 1v1 Video Chat and others | A string of developer accounts with Vietnamese-named gmails | 18–350k per app | 0.4–20k | Vietnam Dating free top 50, openly running a matrix |
In the googleplay library, apps listed after 2025-06 whose descriptions use words like "random video / 1v1 video / across borders" make up 50 of the top 60 most-installed, all video dating. Hirova is the smallest tier among them.
Why users come, and from where
- Small paid acquisition or incentivized installs (likely, not directly verified): Meta and TikTok ad libraries show no ads for it or its sibling apps (they aren't on the tracking list, so a miss doesn't mean no spend). There's no organic buzz online either: Jina search only returns aggregator pages like APKPure, Softonic, AppBrain and CNET; a TikTok search for "hirova" turns up no relevant videos; x-radar shows 30 mentions in the last 0 days. An app with no content, no word of mouth and no updates in two months, whose installs still rise in bursts (one day +1,300~1,600, then a few days later close to 0), most plausibly reflects paid pushes in waves.
- Chart feedback loop: once it's in Vietnam Social's free top #100, the bar is low, a few hundred installs a day can get in, and the chart brings some organic store traffic. From 11-05 to 11-06 it climbed from #172 to #121.
- Why the ratings look good: all 318 ratings are 4–5 stars with no text, which doesn't look like real users. The most likely cause is in-app prompts (for example, rewarding coins for a rating) or outright rating manipulation; which one is unverified. High ratings lift conversion on ad landing pages.
- Why users pay: in-app purchases go up to $199.99 each, matching the "per-minute paid video call with coins" model common in 1v1 video dating. A recall card mentions Vietnamese groups recruiting female hosts to "message and video call for diamonds," which is the supply-side practice of these apps, but whether Hirova does this is unverified. It has never charted in any top-grossing list, so revenue is probably small.
Differentiation
Almost none. The features (interest matching, random video, posting), the monetization (coin IAPs), the copy template and the Rubo and Seylo siblings under the same account are all alike, and similar to Zelio and Corya. Next to big players like Bling, SoLive and Bermuda, it has no scale, no streamer supply and no localization (the store page is English only). The only "differentiation" is a color scheme and a "cross-border / global youth" positioning, which doesn't explain its growth. It grows because each new shell gets a launch budget, and Vietnam's Social chart has a low bar.
How many people know about it
Almost no one knows about it yet. There's no media coverage, only 0 mentions on X and TikTok, no disclosed revenue, and only APK sites and app aggregators list it. But the category itself is extremely crowded, with dozens of big-league peers, and reskin matrices are everywhere.
Takeaways and risks
- Takeaways: on Vietnam's and Malaysia's Social free charts, the bar for #100 is low, and a few hundred installs a day can get in, which suits cheap tests of new shells. Running several same-template apps under one company account (brand.star-word package names, AI-written copy, a swapped color scheme) lets you test creatives and markets in parallel and add budget to whichever performs.
- Risks: abnormal rating distribution (0 written reviews, 0 low-star ratings) is easy for Google to flag as rating manipulation. The privacy policy's named operator and address look fabricated, and 1v1 video dating is a category Google scrutinizes closely, so delisting can come at any time. Its small scale also shows this shell hasn't worked so far, so it isn't worth copying.
Uncertain
- There's no direct evidence of which channels were used or how much was spent.
- Whether the ratings were prompted in-app or manipulated is unverified.
- Whether the video counterparts are real people, paid companions or AI is unverified. The "recruiting female hosts in Vietnam" claim in the recall card, and its link to Hirova, are unverified.
- Whether Zelio, Corya and Shenzhen Xingyu Chenzhi share an operator rests only on similar naming and copy.
- Revenue unknown: no top-grossing ranking.
