Hosanna Song - Custom Songs · COSMO CANYON

7 thousand installs got a Brazilian music bestseller spot: Hosanna Song sells the song that "sings your name"

What it is You answer a few questions, and AI writes a song singing the other person's name and your story. Listen free for 50 seconds, then pay R$49.9–119.9 for the finished track if you're happy; the app is for ordering, checking orders and listening to songs.

Why it took off It landed just as AI made custom songs nearly free to produce. Meta ads and TikTok videos of "singing a person's name" drive traffic, and try-before-you-pay lifts conversion. Each order is a few dozen reais, so a small number of installs is enough to reach the bestseller chart.

BHow you could follow Don't go head-on in Brazilian Portuguese. Take the whole model (try before paying, one-time payment, delivery via chat tool, faith-oriented brand) to a market with many Christians that hasn't seriously run ads yet, buy with Meta reaction videos, and time it around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.

Grade B: the model is proven, AI costs are very low, and you just copy it into a new market. But Brazil itself is a red ocean, with people buying ads in all three major languages (Portuguese, English, Spanish). Success for this business depends almost entirely on ad buying ability, and followers must find markets that are still empty. Chatter in small circles

Hosanna Song is the companion app for a Brazilian AI custom-song website. You answer a few questions, and it writes a song with the other person's name and your story. Listen free for 50 seconds, then pay from R$49.90 if you like it. The app has only 7,244 installs on Google Play, yet it has stayed on Brazil's "Music & Audio" Top Grossing chart at ranks 33–37. The reason is that the business actually happens on the website; the app just lets people who've already paid check orders and listen to songs. Below: what it sells, where the money comes from, how crowded Brazil is, and where this playbook could be taken next.

A video singing "Rayane"

On 2026 Aug 21, TikTok account @hosannasong posted a video with a single line of caption:

Manda esse vídeo para Rayane ou marca ela aqui. Comente qual nome você gostaria de escutar aqui!

It means "Send this video to Rayane, or tag her here. Write the name you want to hear in the comments!" The video is a song whose lyrics sing Rayane's name. It has 5,704 views (TikTok, 11-06), and the comments are almost all names: "Ayani", "Rayanne", "Jonathan". Others tagged friends, and some wrote "gratidão lindo maravilhoso" (gratitude, so beautiful). In late August the account posted several videos like this a day, changing only the name: ÍTALO, MARCIEL, PRISCILA…

Each of these videos gets modest views, a few thousand at most. But it works like a demand register: every name added in the comments is one more person who wants to give someone a song.

Going further back, the Jan 16 tutorial "how to order from Hosanna Song" has nearly 50k views, the highest of anything this account has posted. The most-liked comment names the conversion barrier for this business:

Great… the problem is that after going through the whole process, you have to pay at the end. Why not say you have to pay at the start?

(Original: "o problema eh q após fazr todo o passo a passo no final tem que pagar", 2-03)

Another said "only after watching the video did I learn I have to pay, so bye". Many others just left "quero fazer pro meu filho" (I want to make one for my son). Plenty want it, fewer are willing to pay. The whole product exists to shrink the gap between those two groups.

What it actually sells

The homepage headline reads "A música que vai fazer quem você ama chorar de emoção", meaning "The song that will make the people you love cry with emotion". The line below says: "With your names and your story, and you can listen before you pay."

The flow goes like this (hosannasong.com, 11-06):

  1. Choose who it's for: child, wife, husband, mom, dad, partner, friend, plus a separate page for "for someone who has passed away";
  2. Answer the questionnaire: occasion, music style (Sertanejo, MPB, Samba, Pagode, Funk and other Brazilian styles), vocals, the person's traits, your memories together;
  3. Review the lyrics AI wrote; you can edit them;
  4. Listen free for 50 seconds, no card needed;
  5. Pay once and get two full versions (the same lyrics with two melodies), delivered by email and WhatsApp.
PlanPricingWhat you get extra
Sua CançãoR$49.90 (about $9)One song, two versions
Presente em DobroR$69.90Lyrics PDF, a gift page, plus a "Vale Canção" voucher to give to someone else
Presente no SpotifyR$119.90Cover art, backing track, unlimited revisions, and release to Spotify and Apple Music under the name "Canção Divina"

Rewrite within 7 days if unhappy, or get a full refund. The app also has delivery speed tiers: Essential 5 days, Express 24 hours, Turbo 3 hours. The song is already generated during the preview, so "fast" itself becomes something you can charge for.

The brand carries religious overtones: Hosanna and Canção Divina (divine song), and the YouTube channel bio reads "professional Christian musicians". Yet it sells for every family and romantic occasion. In Brazil this packaging is clever: the Evangelical and Catholic populations are large, and the word "divine" can make an AI song feel more solemn (inference).

Why 7 thousand installs is enough for the bestseller chart

Looking at the app's own numbers (Google Play):

  • 2026-08-04 launched, only in Brazil;
  • Installs went from 10-29 to 5,797,11-06 in 7,244,7 days, about 1,450 more;
  • Through mid-September it was single digits per day; the week of Sep 13 to 19 it averaged about 200 a day, matching when the website added a Play download button at the top; afterward it ran 100–250 a day, with no spike like a chart-rush;
  • Brazil's "Music & Audio" Top Grossing chart kept it at ranks 33–37 from 10-29 to 11-06;
  • In-app purchase prices range from $0.39–$500.

Few installs but a high rank is because every in-app purchase is a whole song order, worth a few dozen reais. The download button at the top of the website carries "utm_source=hosannasong.com", so most people who install the app already ordered on the site and are there to check orders and listen to finished songs (inference). The app's role is to reassure: in a niche full of copycat sites and many complaints, "you can find us on Google Play and the App Store" is itself a kind of guarantee. The iOS version only launched in Oct 23 and has 2 ratings in the Brazil store so far.

So don't study it as an app. It's a website business, and its scale is measured by the site. The site says "mais de 80.000 canções entregues" (over 80k songs delivered), and the reviews page says "+80 mil famílias" and "4,99/5". Taking the lowest tier at R$49.90 as a rough base, cumulative revenue is above R$4M, about $750k (estimate; the 80k figure is the company's own claim and unverified). It started around 2026 January and reached this point in ten months.

One thing worth noting: many of the "customer reviews" on the reviews page read like translations from English templates, for example "my wife is a nurse who worked during COVID" and "this song played at our father-daughter dance". Scenarios like these are common on US competitors' sites, and they look a bit odd in Brazil (inference). On buyer reviews, it's cruder than its product.

Where users come from

  1. Meta ads. The video copy on its Facebook page reads "Toque em Saiba mais e crie a sua com a Hosanna Song" (tap Learn more and create yours with Hosanna Song), which is the standard ad button wording. Every link on the site carries click_id and sck parameters, a format common in Brazilian ad attribution tools, suggesting it tracks whether each click pays back. How many ads are running and how much is spent is not visible from outside (unverified). Instagram @hosannasong.oficial has about 47.5k followers.
  2. TikTok. @hosannasong has 71.6k followers, 503 posts and 777k likes (11-06). The play is the one above: "sing a person's name, comments ask for names." Recent captions all say "Solicite sua canção personalizada pelo link da bio" (order via the bio link), and since October single posts only get a few hundred views. Follower count and visible views don't quite match. Either they deleted a viral hit, or they bought promotion (unverified).
  3. Search. The blog is full of the questions buyers search before ordering: "best custom song site," "how much does it cost," "is Hosanna Song legit." It even has a post on rival Som que Abraça titled "is it legit," going after their brand name.
  4. Streaming release. The R$119.90 tier publishes the customer's song to Spotify, YouTube Music and Qobuz, all credited to the same author, Thiago Felizola Freires. Every song becomes a searchable entry point, and the people who receive them share them.
  5. The gift spreads itself. Videos of the recipient crying are ready-made ads. The homepage hero runs three "Reações reais" (real reactions): a husband, a daughter, a family.

Who runs it: the Google Play developer name is COSMO CANYON, the App Store lists an individual, THIAGO FREIRES, and the phone number on the site uses the 61 area code (Brasília). The legal entity and business registration can't be traced from outside.

Who it's competing with

Lots of them. In 2025–2026 Brazil saw a wave of sites selling the same thing with almost identical playbooks: storytelling, AI generation, free preview, then R$40–120.

CompetitorsWherePricingVersus Hosanna

Portuguese YouTube already has tutorials on "make money with custom AI songs." Hosanna's edge over peers is its faith branding, fuller delivery (WhatsApp, gift page, streaming, app) and more consistent content, so it wins a bit on conversion and trust, but none of that is a moat. It got going mainly through three things: starting early, buying traffic, and letting people listen before they pay.

If it were you

B: Worth trying, but don't go head-to-head with it in Brazil. A lot is copyable: listen before paying, WhatsApp delivery, short videos that sing names, a brand aimed at believers. The Portuguese market is already crowded, with people running ads in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and the Polish competitor lists prices for every Latin American country. The opportunity is moving "faith-flavored custom songs" into a market with many Christians that nobody is seriously advertising in yet (inference).

Who it suits 1–2 people, one of whom has run Meta or TikTok ads and can calculate cost per acquisition per order. Ideally you're in the target market or speak the language, can write lyrics that don't read like translations, and can pronounce names correctly. Knowing the local church culture (hymn styles, common blessings) is the local version of the "sacred" packaging Hosanna uses.

Who it doesn't suit Anyone who wants Brazilian Portuguese: a dozen identical sites are competing, and someone is selling at R$10. Anyone hoping to start from organic App Store traffic: Hosanna's own app installs come from the website pushing people over. Anyone wanting subscriptions: gifting is a one-time purchase.

How to do it Website first, app later, as a lookup tool and social proof. Copy the flow: pick the recipient → questionnaire → show lyrics for edits → free 30–50 second preview, no card → one-time payment for two versions → delivery via WhatsApp or the chat app locals use. Three price tiers, with the middle one including a coupon so the buyer brings in the next order. Charge separately for rush delivery. Run a separate line for religious-themed names and styles (hymns, gospel, Christmas carols) while keeping ordinary romantic and family occasions. The homepage should make clear upfront that you pay and how much, since the January comment shows that surfacing the price last drives people away.

How to get customers Meta short-video ads are the core, with crying-reaction footage, one scenario per video: anniversaries, for mom, for someone who's gone. Post a TikTok every day that sings a common local name, with comments asking people to submit names, since those people are the next buyers. Blog posts target the search terms people use before ordering: "which one is trustworthy," "how much." The top tier goes out to streaming under the same credit, building long-tail search entries.

Deadline Launch by mid-January, start small-budget testing, and aim for Valentine's Day in February 14 (Brazil's Valentine's Day is June 12, don't mix them up). If you miss that, the next peak is Mother's Day, the second Sunday in May.

Signs you've misread it ① In your chosen market, the Meta Ad Library already shows three or more similar sellers running continuously, so it's no longer open; ② after testing 20 creatives on a small budget, cost per acquisition never falls below half the order value; ③ local buyers won't accept pay-then-deliver and there's no convenient local payment; ④ Hosanna's Spanish site is clearly running more ads, and your chosen market is Spanish, so switch to another.

Hosanna Song - Custom Songs (com.hosannasong.app) research report

Research date: 2026-11-06. Data card: /home/ljr/fanout/why/cards/play_com.hosannasong.app.json

One line

The companion app for Hosanna Song / Canção Divina, a Brazilian "custom song as a gift" website (the brand name it sells under in Brazil). The core business is the website: users answer 5 questions, read AI-written lyrics, get a free 50-second preview, and if satisfied pay R$49.90 / 69.90 / 119.90 for the finished song. It started around 2026-01 and says it has delivered "80,000+ songs." The Play app only went live 2026-08, with about 7 thousand installs, but each in-app purchase is a whole order worth tens of reais, so it has pushed into the Brazil Play "Music & Audio" top-grossing chart, ranking 33–37. The app is an order and lookup entry point for the website business, not a growth engine in itself.

1. Core numbers and data

  • Play: listed 2026-08-04, installs 5,797 (10-29) → 7,244 (11-06), +1,447 over 7 days; only listed in Brazil; on Brazil's MUSIC_AND_AUDIO top-grossing chart it has held ranks 33–37 from 10-29 to 11-06 (googleplay library chart_rank). In-app purchase range $0.39–$500.
  • Install history (googleplay library, app_day_ext): through mid-September, single-digit installs per day; 9-13~9-19 about 200 per day (matches the density of TikTok posts in August and the App download button added to the website homepage); October, 100–250 per day, with heavy fluctuation. No explosive spike like a chart-topping surge.
  • iOS: id6816175628, seller THIAGO FREIRES, listed 2026-10-23, only 2 ratings in Brazil; best grossing rank is Brazil grossing #77 (appstore library), India #103.
  • Developers: Play credits COSMO CANYON; iOS credits the individual THIAGO FREIRES. Streaming credits for customer songs list the songwriter as Thiago Felizola Freires, label Hosanna Song (YouTube "Provided to YouTube by Hosanna Song" series, Qobuz). The official site's customer service phone is +55 61 (Brasília area code).
  • Scale signals: the official site's /pt/create page says "Mais de 80 mil músicas entregues"; at the lowest tier of R$49.90, a rough estimate puts cumulative revenue above R$4M (over $750k; the figure is self-reported by the company, unverified).

2. Product and pricing (official site)

  • The flow has 6 steps: questionnaire (who it's for, the occasion, style, vocal type, the recipient's traits, memories) → review the lyrics, with one edit or revision request allowed → free 50-second preview, no card required → choose a package → one-time payment → deliver 2 full versions (same lyrics, two melodies) by email plus WhatsApp. Source: www.hosannasong.com/pt/blog/hosanna-song-e-confiavel
  • Packages: Sua Canção R$49.90; Presente em Dobro R$69.90 (adds a lyrics PDF, a gift page, and a second "Vale Canção" to give someone else); Presente no Spotify R$119.90 (adds cover art, instrumental track, unlimited revisions, and release under the name "Canção Divina" on Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms). Dissatisfied within 7 days? Rewrite or a full refund.
  • The app also offers rush tiers: Essential (5 days), Express (24 hours), and Turbo (3 hours). The English site starts at $49.
  • Localized genres: Sertanejo, MPB, Samba, Pagode, Rap/Funk, and more. The brand carries religious overtones (Hosanna, Canção Divina; the YouTube channel bio reads "Christian professional musicians"), but what it actually sells is every family and romantic occasion (husband, wife, children, mother, memorials, etc.).
  • Expanding for 2026 years: an English site, a Spanish site (iOS Spanish name "Canción a Medida"), and a TikTok bio with 🇧🇷🇪🇸.

3. Competitors

Brazil's "música personalizada" niche has been crowded for 2025–2026 years, nearly all running the same playbook: storytelling → AI generation → free preview → sell at R$40–120.

Bottom line: it's not that there are no competitors, it's that there are too many. In our Play library, the only Brazilian custom-song gift app with a native app that has charted is Hosanna (the library only tracks charted apps, so some may be missing).

4. Growth tactics

  1. Meta (Facebook / Instagram) video ads: the video copy under FB Page 61585556286543 reads "Toque em Saiba mais e crie a sua com a Hosanna Song", the standard ad CTA phrasing. Instagram @hosannasong.oficial has about 47.5k followers, plus @cancaodivinabr. Our metaads library doesn't track this Page, and the ad library webpage requires a captcha, so the number of ads running is unverified. Site links all carry click_id / sck parameters (a format common to Brazilian paid-traffic attribution tools), suggesting they measure ROI per click.
  2. TikTok @hosannasong: 71.6k followers, 503 videos, 777k likes (TikHub, 2026-11-06). Of the 120 videos retrievable, 64 were posted in 2026-08. The signature format is "Manda esse vídeo para CLEIDE ou marca ela aqui. Comente qual nome você quer": each video sings a specific person's name, prompting viewers to tag relatives with the same name and drop names in the comments. Individual views range from 4k to 29k; a January tutorial video peaked at 50k views. Follower count and visible view counts don't quite match, which may reflect deleted hits or paid promotion (unverified).
  3. SEO content matrix: /pt/blog holds many purchase-decision articles ("melhor site de música personalizada", "quanto custa", "Hosanna Song é confiável"), and a dedicated piece on whether competitor Som que Abraça is trustworthy, to capture brand-search traffic from rivals.
  4. Streaming release as a side acquisition channel: the R$119.90 tier releases the customer's song under the name "Canção Divina / HosannaSong.com" to Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon, and Qobuz. Each track is a searchable entry point, and listeners share it.
  5. Gifts spread on their own: videos of recipients crying while listening are the best UGC and ad creative (the homepage is literally titled "Real reactions"). The second "Vale Canção" in the Presente em Dobro tier also drives the next order.
  6. The app is just a landing point: the website header has Play / App Store download buttons (tagged utm_source=hosannasong.com). Most app installs come from existing website customers checking orders and listening to songs, so installs are low but per-order value is high, and the grossing rank looks far better than install volume suggests.

5. Why it took off

  • Timing: over 2025–2026 years, models like Suno cut the cost of a decent custom song to nearly zero, and Brazil is a heavy WhatsApp, gifting, and emotional-content market, so a wave of "AI custom song gift" sites emerged together. Hosanna is one of the more fully executed.
  • Listen before you pay: a 50-second free preview, no card needed, removes the biggest conversion barrier (fear of getting something bad). And one-time payment, not a subscription, fits gift-buying psychology.
  • Channel is short-video paid acquisition on Meta and TikTok plus organic content: "sing your name" videos travel well in feeds, and the comment-for-your-name prompt doubles as demand capture.
  • High ticket value: R$50–120 per order, so a few thousand orders a month reaches tens of thousands of reais a month, enough to fund paid acquisition.
  • Trust infrastructure: Reclame Aqui has complaints (a refund dispute on an R$99 order) and people have impersonated the CNPJ, so it leans on "is it trustworthy" blog posts, a 7-day refund, order tracking, and an app to ease doubts. Launching an app also builds trust, not just traffic.

6. Differentiation

The product form is nearly identical to a dozen-plus Brazilian peers. The real differences are a few:

  • The brand is faith / emotion-driven (Hosanna, Canção Divina), tapping the large evangelical and Catholic audience in Brazil;
  • Fuller delivery experience: WhatsApp push, order tracking, gift page, streaming release, native app;
  • More consistent content and SEO work;
  • Expanding into English- and Spanish-speaking markets.

These differences let it win on conversion and trust in a homogeneous market, but they aren't a moat. What made it work is mainly timing + short-video paid acquisition + a listen-before-you-pay conversion design, not a unique product.

7. Visibility

No relevant discussion found in our X local corpus (x-radar, 90 days; hosannasong / Hosanna Song / Canção Divina / música personalizada each return 0 posts). No media coverage, no disclosed revenue, only the self-reported "80k songs" on the website. It has some awareness among Brazilian consumers (70k TikTok followers, nearly 50k on IG, mentions on Reclame Aqui), but is essentially unknown in Chinese and English founder circles. The niche itself is already crowded in Brazil, and Portuguese YouTube already has tutorials on "making money with AI custom songs".

8. Takeaways

  • The "free preview → one-time purchase of a finished AI gift" model can be ported to other language markets (Spanish, Indonesian, Filipino, Middle Eastern), or to other categories (custom picture books, custom videos, pet songs);
  • The TikTok format of "sing a specific person's name + drop names in comments";
  • Use streaming releases and credits on streaming platforms as a long-tail acquisition channel;
  • A companion app on the App Store / Play for order lookup and repeat purchases, doubling as trust-building;
  • Write "is it trustworthy" articles about competitors to siphon their traffic.

9. Uncertain

  • Meta ad count and spend (the ad library page requires a captcha, and the metaads library doesn't track it);
  • Whether "80k songs" is real, how many are AI-generated, and how many are human-reviewed;
  • How much of the 70k TikTok followers come from paid promotion or deleted hits;
  • Actual traction in the English and Spanish markets;
  • The operating company (COSMO CANYON) and CNPJ ownership.
