Bible Launcher - Daily Verse · PT POLEWALI DIGITAL

# A Bible app pulled from the store and re-listed under a new package: 9K installs in two months, yet it squeezed into the 10-country category charts

**What it is** An English Bible app from a small Indonesian company: daily verses, prayers, audio Bible, quizzes. Named Launcher, it makes money from ads.

**Why it took off** Bursts of paid acquisition, plus the low bar of the Books & Reference category. A few hundred to a thousand installs a day is enough to chart in South Africa, the US and other countries. No word of mouth, no content spread.

**C** **How you could play it** Don't copy this one. To learn from the playbook, take apart the same-batch apps that reached 200K+, like KBeauty and BIGBYTE. Then build a lightweight ad-monetized Bible app in Spanish, Portuguese, Tagalog or another faith's scripture. Buy installs on a small budget, do the math on payback, and only then scale. Stay away from hijacking the home screen, which gets apps delisted.

C grade: the playbook is learnable (low-bar category + template + paid installs + ad payback), but this app is the smallest in its batch with zero differentiation. The English Bible lane already has six or seven template apps and millions of older users, and the name is taken. Following this one specifically isn't worth it. Few people know about it yet

Data 2026-10-31 → 2026-11-07 (8 days, 7 observations)

In Aug 28, a Bible app called Bible Launcher - Daily Verse was pulled from Google Play. 7 days later, on Sep 4, the same developer re-listed it under the same name with a different package ID. Two months on, it had 9,186 installs in total, and in Nov 6 it appeared on the Books & Reference free charts in 10 countries at once. The charts look busy, but the product itself never really took off. What's worth watching is the batch of same-template Bible apps behind it, and how cheap charting in this category is.

### "Can't uninstall, installed a pile of programs"

Three weeks after the new package went up, Sep 26, a user named Mary Jones left this comment in the store:

> I want to canceled the complete Bible Launcher app . And I have tried to uninstall it and it simply to many programs.

24 people marked it helpful. On Oct 2, another user, Michealina Krzeminski, wrote: "I installed all these apps. when I opened them. Nothing comes up." (25 people marked it helpful). The same day, someone complained that the ads interrupted reading and prayer.

The developer's replies all followed one script: asking you to write to faithinolivetree@gmail.com, closing with "May you find true belonging in the love of Christ". To the complaints about ads, the reply was simply "A 5-star review supports us to improve and operate. Amen!" (Google Play store page, 11-06).

This is the app: on its store page in Nov 6, it showed 4.5 stars, 97 reviews and "5K+ downloads".

### What it is

An English Bible app monetized with ads: daily verses, daily prayers, audio Bible, Bible quizzes, reading plans, saved verses. It's named Launcher, and the only store-description line referring to the home screen is "Faith on Your Home Screen". Everything else matches the same batch of Bible template apps. Whether it actually replaces your default home screen is unverified, but the "can't uninstall" complaints suggest it's at least aggressive.

No in-app purchases; it's labeled as containing ads. The data safety section says it may share location and app-usage data with third parties.

The developer, PT POLEWALI DIGITAL, is an Indonesian company (Polewali is a place name in Sulawesi). It appeared 2026 years ago with 8 apps, almost all with "launcher" in the package name: calculator, volume control, big-text home screen, email, incoming calls. The one that actually makes money is Home Workout for Women, with 966K installs and #1 on Brazil's free fitness chart. The Bible app is just a small test on the same account.

### Its installs come in bursts

| Date | Added that day | Cumulative |
|---|---|---|
| End of September | dozens | About 480 |
| 10-04 | 1,710 | 3,072 |
| 10-05 ~ 10-07 | 1 / 18 / 1 | 3,092 |
| 10-08 | 1,419 | 4,511 |
| 10-14 ~ 11-02 | A few dozen a day | 6,951 |
| 11-03 | 1,047 | 7,998 |
| 11-05 | 780 | 9,186 |

Sources: third-party estimates and Google Play install counts, as of 11-06.

A month after launch it had only 500 installs. After that it's "jumped by over a thousand one day, back to zero the next," and for three weeks in the middle it barely moved. Organic growth from word of mouth and search climbs steadily; this on-off shape looks more like intermittent paid acquisition or one-off traffic buys (inferred, no specific ad creative found). The Home Workout curve on the same account has the same shape, just reaching 100K in a single day.

Ratings follow a rhythm too: from Nov 4 to 6, over three days it gained 22 ratings, 15 of them five-star. That lines up with the 5 update released in Nov 1.0.3, which suggests a rating prompt was added with the new version (inferred).

On TikTok, searching "bible launcher" turns up no relevant videos in the top 20 results. On X, there's zero discussion in the last 30 days, and no media coverage at all.

### Why 9K installs can chart in 10 countries

Because charting in Books & Reference is cheap. In Nov 6 its rankings were: South Africa #27, Nigeria #68, US #77, Mexico #81, Brazil #97, Argentina #100, with Saudi Arabia, Canada, the UK and the Philippines all around #130 (Google Play category free chart). A few hundred to a thousand global installs a day is enough to land in the top 100 in several countries.

So "charting in 10 countries" reflects the category's low bar, not how popular the product is. Charting brings a bit of organic exposure but can't sustain growth. The three weeks after the mid-October pause prove it.

### It's actually the smallest one in a whole batch of templates

8: in September a batch of Bible apps with near-identical names, package IDs and features appeared on Google Play. Their privacy policies sit on Google Sites, and the contact emails are mostly personal Gmail. That faithinolivetree@gmail.com address and the same customer-service script also show up under several other developers' Bible apps, such as cybermatrices and Acorn House. Whether it's one operator or a shared outsourced template can't be told from the outside (inferred).

| App | Developer | Days listed | Installs (11-06) | past 7 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| My Daily Bible - KJV Version | KBeauty | 67 | 246,994 | +90,942 |
| Bible: Quiz & Prayer | BIGBYTE | 66 | 195,185 | +80,465 |
| Daily Faith: Bible Quiz | BIGBYTE | 28 | 45,658 | +41,778 |
| Daily Quiz: Bible & Prayer | KBeauty | 22 | 26,281 | +26,050 |
| My Daily Bible: Verse & Prayer | Acorn House | 74 | 10,384 | – |
| **Bible Launcher - Daily Verse** | **PT POLEWALI DIGITAL** | **63** | **9,186** | **+2,235** |
| Holy Bible - KJV+Verse | Flutter Lab. | 63 | 8,446 | +1,480 |

Source: Google Play, 11-06.

Same template: KBeauty and BIGBYTE reached over 200K in two months and are still adding 80–90K a week. This one does about 2K a week. The difference isn't the product; it's the ad budget and the willingness to scale up.

The "Bible home screen" niche already has players: AtomApplications' Holy Bible Launcher: KJV+Audio has been around for 2023 years, with 1.18M installs and 7,000+ ratings at 4.77; Bible Homescreen - Read Now has 410K; the "Bible Launcher" name and the biblelauncher.com domain were taken first by GoFish Apps. Above that are YouVersion (305M) and Bible Chat (10.3M), which adds AI chat and subscriptions.

### Where the money comes from

Ads only. Bible users open the app daily to read verses, skew older and tolerate ads well; the negative reviews complain about "too many ads" rather than "stopped using it", which makes it a good fit for interstitial and native ads. Making it a home-screen format means every unlock is a potential impression, in theory. At the 9K-install scale, though, this one's revenue is small, and no public figures exist.

### If it were you

**In one line:** this app isn't worth following. It's the smallest in a batch of templates. The playbook is learnable, but on the English Bible lane it's already crowded.

**Who it suits:** people already running ad-monetized apps, who buy Google UAC or Meta app ads, who can calculate install cost against ad revenue per user. Having existing templates and several developer accounts helps.

**Who it doesn't suit:** anyone counting on organic installs (apps like this stop when the ads stop); anyone trying to go head-to-head with a KJV Bible in English (at least six or seven apps in the batch, plus giants like YouVersion); anyone who wants to make money from subscriptions; anyone who can't stomach the risk of grey tactics like "set as default home screen, can't uninstall", which is a common reason for delisting (its earlier package was delisted once; the reason is unverified).

**How to do it:** don't copy it. Take apart the best-performing same-batch apps, KBeauty's "My Daily Bible" and BIGBYTE's "Bible: Quiz & Prayer". If you do build one, pick an audience that isn't crowded yet: Spanish and Portuguese Bibles for Latin America (it charted in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, but its store copy is English only), Tagalog for the Philippines, or another faith's scripture. As for format, home-screen widgets and lock-screen verses are safer than replacing the whole home screen. List it under Books & Reference, and first check how many daily installs it takes to hold the #30–80 spot in the target country's category.

**How to acquire users:** spend a small budget on paid installs, pairing a high-CPM country (US, Canada) with a cheap one (South Africa, Nigeria, Philippines) and letting the data decide whether to scale. Put the rating prompt right after the user finishes reading a passage.

**When to start:** December brings a seasonal boost in religious demand and ad prices. If you're going to do it, get listed before late November and start testing in early December.

**Signs you've read it wrong:** ① after December, this app or its batch siblings drop out of the top 150 in Books & Reference across countries and installs stop rising. That means the spend doesn't pay back and the template wave is fading. ② Some apps in the batch get pulled in bulk for ads or home-screen hijacking, which means this monetization route is closing. ③ The reverse: if this app keeps gaining a few hundred installs a day after November even without spending, the "home-screen Bible" format has real pull, and it's worth a second look.

Where users come from

- Inferred **Paid acquisition / traffic buys (on-off)** : AppstoreSpy curve shows stepped pulses: 10-04 +1,710, 10-08 +1,419, 11-03 +1,047, with most other days near 0; the same account's Home Workout for Women has the same shape (10-21 single day +103K)

- **Verified** **Store category chart** : from 11-03 on it entered the BOOKS_AND_REFERENCE free chart, 11-06 in 10 countries (ZA 27, NG 68, US 77); low bar for the category

- **Verified** **Stacked ASO keywords** : title Bible Launcher - Daily Verse, package dailybible.devotion.verse.kjv, description stacks verse/prayer/audio/quiz/reading plan

- **Verified** **Review baiting** : when replying to bad reviews, write "A 5-star review supports us to improve and operate. Amen!" 11-04~06 rating +22, of which 5-star +15, synced with the 1.0.3 release

- **Verified** **Relaunched under a new package** : AppBrain: the old package com.bible.launcher.devotion.verse.kjv from the same developer with the same name was delisted 2026-08-28; new package 09-04 went live

## Why Bible Launcher - Daily Verse (com.ln.dailybible.devotion.verse.kjv) took off

> Research date 2026-11-06. Data sources: our googleplay library (app_snap / app_day_ext / chart_rank / app_profile, hereafter "the library"), the Google Play store page, AppBrain / IndieTower / Jina search results, TikHub, x-radar, metaads / googleads libraries.

### Bottom line

It didn't "take off" organically. It's an ad-monetized template app mass-published by an Indonesian shell company (PT POLEWALI DIGITAL). The old package with the same name was delisted in Aug 28, and in Sep 4 it came back under a new package name. The install curve is a stepped pulse (on certain days 1,000–1,700 installs arrive at once, the rest of the time it's near 0), with no sign of any natural content spread. It reached the 10-country "Books & Reference" free chart because the bar for charting in that category is low (a few hundred installs a day was enough to rank #27 in South Africa and #77 in the US), not because the product stands out. The real story is the whole wave of "Bible template app" matrix apps behind it: its batchmates KBeauty and BIGBYTE had already passed 200k installs in the same period.

### 1. Basics

Chart trajectory (library chart_rank): 10-31 only reached #198 in the US category chart → 11-03 US #121 / South Africa #149 → 11-06 jumped to the top across 10 countries, South Africa #27.

#### Install curve is a stepped pulse (AppstoreSpy estimate, library app_day_ext)

| Date | New installs per day (averaged) | Cumulative |
|---|---|---|
| 09-29 | 42 | 482 |
| 10-02 | 192 | 1,059 |
| 10-04 | **1,710** | 3,072 |
| 10-05 ~ 10-07 | 1 / 18 / 1 | 3,092 |
| 10-08 | **1,419** | 4,511 |
| 10-13 | 625 | 5,636 |
| 10-14 ~ 11-02 | A few dozen a day | 6,951 |
| 11-03 | **1,047** | 7,998 |
| 11-04 | 408 | 8,406 |
| 11-05 | 780 | 9,186 |

Only 500 installs in the first month after launch; afterward the shape is "thousands arrive on one day, zero the next", with near-stagnation for almost three weeks from 10-14 to 11-02, then another round starting 11-03. This on/off curve is the signature of paid acquisition (or a one-off traffic buy), not word of mouth or organic search, which show a continuous climb. Ratings follow the same pattern: from 11-04 to 11-06 the rating count rose by 22 in three days, 15 of them 5-star, right when 11-05 shipped 1.0.3. That looks a lot like a new version adding an in-app rating prompt.

### 2. Who's behind it: an Indonesian shell company + the old same-name package delisted and relaunched

- The developer is PT POLEWALI DIGITAL (legal entity PT POLEWALI DIGITAL TEKNOLOGI; Polewali is a place in Sulawesi, Indonesia), website ptpolewalidigital.org, privacy policy hosted on Google Sites (sites.google.com/view/biblelauncher). IndieTower shows it appeared only 2026 years ago, with 8 apps (tools 5, books 2, fitness 1), "8 of them 1 have passed 10k installs", and release pace up 600% over the previous half-year. (indietower.com/publishers/android/PT+POLEWALI+DIGITAL)

- Nearly all of its package names contain "launcher": Calculator Launcher (com.calculator.launcher.unitconverter.interest, 2026-05,470 installs), Volume Control (com.volumecontrol.launcher.equalizer.sound, 54 installs), Big Homescreen (com.homescreen.launcher.easyphone.desktop, 22 installs), Mail Home (com.mailhome.launcher...), Easy Caller, KJV Holy Bible: Verse & Prayer, Bible：Quiz & Prayer, plus its main earner Home Workout for Women (homeworkout.launcher.forwomen.keepfit). (AppBrain / APKPure search snippets)

- **Same-name old package delisted** : AppBrain logged `com.bible.launcher.devotion.verse.kjv`, "Bible Launcher - Daily Verse," from the same developer, **delisted from Google Play 2026-08-28 ago** ; 7 days later, a new 09-04 package, `com.ln.dailybible.devotion.verse.kjv`, launched under the same name. (AppBrain search snippet; the page itself is blocked by Cloudflare, so the full text could not be opened)

- The account's real money-maker is **Home Workout for Women** : 966k installs, +7k in the last 222 days, ranked #1 on the Brazil fitness free chart (library app_profile). Its AppstoreSpy curve shows the same stepped pulse (10-05 single-day +59k, 10-21 single-day +103k), at two orders of magnitude larger scale. Bible Launcher is just a small test under the same playbook.

- **Support replies use another company's email** : when replying to bad reviews in the store, the developer asks users to write to faithinolivetree@gmail.com and uses a fixed line: "May you find true belonging in the love of Christ". The same email and line also appear on several Bible apps tied to cybermatrices.com: "My Daily Bible / Daily Bible - Verse+Audio" (com.kjvbible.bibledailyverse.pray.devotion), "Bible For Women" (com.gracefulbible.prayer), "Daily Bible - Verse+Audio" (com.holybible.kjv.devotion.verse), and Acorn House's "Bible：Quiz & Prayer" (com.acornho.bible.prayer.quiz.kjv), with privacy policies on sites.google.com/view/bible-group. (Jina search results) → These differently named developer accounts most likely share one operator, or use the same outsourcing vendor / template system.

### 3. Competitors

#### Same-template siblings from the same period (all launched 2026-08~09, with package names following one pattern: com.xx.dailybible / bible.prayer.quiz.devotion)

| App | Developer | Days listed | Installs | past 7 days | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| My Daily Bible - KJV Version(com.sd.bible.kjv.prayer.bless) | KBeauty | 67 | 246,994 | +90,942 | Library |
| Bible：Quiz & Prayer (com.mq.bible.prayer.quiz.devotion) | BIGBYTE APPLICATION HOSTING SERVICES | 66 | 195,185 | +80,465 | Library |
| Daily Faith: Bible Quiz | BIGBYTE | 28 | 45,658 | +41,778 | Library |
| Daily Quiz: Bible & Prayer | KBeauty | 22 | 26,281 | +26,050 | Library |
| My Daily Bible: Verse & Prayer | Acorn House | 74 | 10,384 | – | Library |
| **Bible Launcher - Daily Verse** | **PT POLEWALI DIGITAL** | **63** | **9,186** | **+2,235** | Library |
| Holy Bible - KJV+Verse(com.km.dailybible.pray.quiz.devotion) | Flutter Lab. | 63 | 8,446 | +1,480 | Library |

What these accounts have in common: domains are empty shells of the "xx-tool.com" type, privacy policies are on Google Sites, contact emails are mostly personal Gmail, and names stack US-market keywords like "KJV + daily verse + prayer + quiz". Within this batch, this app is among **the smallest** .

#### The "Bible desktop / Launcher" niche

| App | Developer | Installs | Launched | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Holy Bible Launcher: KJV+Audio | AtomApplications | 1,181,183 (+7.5k / 7 days) | About 2023 years (1,361 days since launch) | A launcher that actually replaces the home screen; 11 translations, 7,000+ ratings, 4.77 (androidrank) |
| Bible Homescreen - Read Now | Homescreen Apps | 409,598 | around 2023 | Veteran of the "Bible on the home screen" category |
| KJV Holy Bible: Launcher | Nicolas momo | 228,424 | Early 2025 | Peers |
| Bible Launcher: Verse & Prayer / Holy Bible Daily Prayer | GoFish Apps (biblelauncher.com, legal entity TAYLOR HOPE KEEF) | Not in the library / 120k tier (same company's weather app) | 2024–2025 | Grabbed the "Bible Launcher" name and domain first, has a Facebook page |
| Bible Home(com.novo.gospel.launcher) | OmniHome Apps | 62,897 | 92 days | Launcher-type newcomers in the same period |

All install figures above come from library app_profile (11-06).

#### Market overall

YouVersion (305M), Holy Bible Offline (143M, also Life.Church), Bible Offline-KJV (123M), the WOOMBIT family (6M~13M each), Bible Chat (10.3M, +7k in the last 380 days). There are also many similar apps on iOS. Compared with these, it has no differentiation in content, translations, community or AI.

### 4. Where users come from

| Channel | Evidence | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Paid ads / traffic buying | AppstoreSpy stepped pulse curve (10-04 +1,710, 10-08 +1,419, 11-03 +1,047, with the days in between near 0); the same account's Home Workout has the same shape at a hundred times the scale | Highly suspected, no ad creatives directly found |
| Meta Ad Library | Not found in the metaads library by package or Page name | Not on our tracking list; not finding it ≠ not running ads |
| Google Ads Transparency Center | No mapping in the googleads library (not on the winners list) | Same as above |
| Store category chart | Entered the BOOKS_AND_REFERENCE free chart 11-03, ranked in 11-06 10 countries; the category's bar is low | Both result and amplifier: the pulse pushed it onto the category chart, which brings a small amount of organic traffic |
| Keyword-stuffed ASO | Title "Bible Launcher - Daily Verse", package name contains dailybible / devotion / verse / kjv | Yes, but the new package has limited organic search weight |
| Prompted reviews | When replying to bad reviews, write "A 5-star review supports us to improve and operate. Amen!"; 11-04~06 rating growth concentrated in 5-star reviews, coinciding with the 1.0.3 release | Yes |
| TikTok / X / Reddit | TikHub search for "bible launcher": nothing relevant in the top 20 results; x-radar 30 days, 0 posts | No content spread |
| Old package's long-time users | Old package 08-28 delisted; the new package had only about 500 installs in its first month | Essentially inherited no old users |

### 5. Why it "took off"

1. **Low bar for category charts** : a few hundred to a thousand global installs a day is enough to reach the top 100 of the "Books & Reference" free chart in South Africa, Nigeria, the US and elsewhere. The "charted in 10 countries" signal that our recall scoring sees is mostly this effect. (library chart_rank / app_day_ext)

2. **On-off paid acquisition** : the curve shape can only be explained by intermittent ad buys or one-off bulk pushes; same playbook as their Home Workout app on the same account.

3. **Stable category demand with easy ad monetization** : Bible users have high DAU, skew older, and tolerate ads well (even the bad reviews only complain about ads). They open it daily for verse of the day, which suits interstitial and native ads. Built as a "Launcher / home screen" format, every unlock could theoretically serve an impression.

4. **Matrix publishing** : the same template (even the same support email) spread across multiple developer accounts; scale up whichever one starts pulling installs, and when one listing gets pulled, swap in a new build and relist. This app is one small node in that matrix.

### 6. Differentiation

The claimed differentiator is "Launcher / put your faith on the home screen," but the store description is one line, "Faith on Your Home Screen," and the rest of the features (verse of the day, prayer, audio Bible, quizzes, reading plans, favorites) match the same batch of templates. The name "Bible Launcher" was already taken by GoFish Apps (biblelauncher.com) and AtomApplications (1.18M installs). **Differentiation isn't why it's getting installs** ; paid acquisition and a low-barrier category chart are. Reviews like "can't uninstall / installed a pile of programs" and "nothing shows when I open it" suggest the experience is mediocre, and there may be aggressive tactics (unverified whether it actually replaces the default launcher).

### 7. How many people can see it

No public revenue, and no discussion on media, X, Reddit, or TikTok; it's only indexed by automated data sites like AppBrain and IndieTower. **Almost nobody knows about it yet** . But the niche it sits in (English KJV Bible + ad monetization) is crowded: at least 6 template apps from the same batch exist.

### 8. What others can learn

- Bible / religion apps sit in the Play "Books & Reference" category, where you can hit the top 10 country charts cheaply. Good for testing creatives and markets (ZA, NG, PH and other English-speaking countries with low CPI).

- Running one template across multiple developer accounts in parallel, then doubling down on whatever data shows, is a standard hedge against takedowns (this account's old build was already pulled once).

- The batch peers that are actually worth studying are KBeauty's "My Daily Bible" and BIGBYTE's "Bible: Quiz & Prayer." Both are at 200k+ in two months with 8–90k installs per week, using the same template but doing it better.

- "Home / lock screen" formats (Launcher, widgets, lock-screen verses) are the mainstream way religion apps raise exposure frequency. Veteran AtomApplications has already shown they can reach millions.

### 9. Uncertain

- No specific ad creatives found; ad channels (Google UAC / Meta / ad networks) unverified. The spike could also come from cross-promotion within the matrix.

- Whether it really replaces the default home screen as a launcher hasn't been verified on a device.

- Whether it's the same operator as faithinolivetree / cybermatrices / Acorn House / KBeauty / BIGBYTE is unconfirmed; there's only indirect evidence like shared emails, copy, and naming patterns.

- Reason for the old build 08-28 being pulled is unknown (policy violation or voluntary removal).

- Revenue: no in-app purchases; ad revenue can't be estimated. At the 9-thousand install scale, revenue is small.
