"Is your partner loyal?": how a Hanoi studio used fake Pandit videos to get 750k installs in India in one week
What it is An India-flavored AI astrology tool: Vedic birth charts, daily horoscopes, tarot, AI chat, plus a "where is my soulmate" feature. Free, monetized with ads.
Why it took off A batch of fake "astrologer" Facebook pages posted short videos in Hindi and Telugu asking "Is my partner faithful?" and "Is my soulmate near me?
CHow you could approach it Stop building Indian AI astrology apps; copy the creative formula (a Western emotional hook + a local occult shell + short videos in the local language + expert-persona pages), move to a local occult market that hasn't been saturated yet, keep ads restrained, and add paid Q&A where you can.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-09-09 · 11-07 installs 1,228,851

A small studio in Hanoi, Vietnam, launched an India-targeted AI astrology app called NakshAI on Google Play in September. There are no in-app purchases, only ads. Two concentrated ad pushes in early October took it from a few 10k installs to 770k within days; by November 6 it had 1.23M cumulative installs, yet the store page has only about 600 ratings, and the most-upvoted reviews are all complaining about ads. This piece explains what got it going, how the money comes back, how crowded this niche is, and the one thing worth learning from it.
Sep 30, an astrologer page called "Nakshai"
At midday on Sep 30, 2026, a new Facebook page categorized as "Astrologist & Psychic" posted a vertical short video titled "Is my partner loyal to me?", with a one-line Hinglish caption:
Kundli + AI = scary accurate predictions 😳 NakshAI ab India ka fastest growing astrology app
("Kundli plus AI, scarily accurate. NakshAI, now India's fastest-growing astrology app.") By early November the video had 614 views and 3 likes. The page name was "Nakshai: Tarot & Astrology".
Over the following weeks, the same creative ran across a batch of "astrologer" pages: "Pandit Aadhya", "Pandit Meera", "Astro Aditya", "Astro AI Kundli", all newly created in 2026. A Hindi video posted by Astro AI Kundli on Oct 16, titled "क्या आपका Soulmate आपके करीब है?" (Is your soulmate near you?), had 212k views and 10 likes. Views and engagement are off by a factor of twenty thousand, which means paid reach, not organic sharing.
The install curve began changing right around then.
What it is
An India-flavored AI astrology tool. Enter your birth date, time, and place to generate a Vedic birth chart (Janam Kundli), plus daily horoscopes (Rashifal), auspicious timing from the almanac (Panchang, Shubh Muhurat), compatibility matching, tarot, and an AI chat "astrologer" that answers questions about love, marriage, career, and money.
The most prominent feature is "Soulmate Location", which tells you where your future soulmate might be. The store page adds a note under this section, "Soulmate Location does not track real people or predict exact meeting places", and ends with a disclaimer saying all of it is for entertainment. The hook isn't native to India: it's the Western "AI draws your soulmate" trend that went viral on TikTok, re-wrapped in a Vedic astrology shell.
Free to download, labeled "Contains ads", with no in-app purchases at all.
The curve is steps, not slopes
| Date | Total installs |
|---|---|
| 09-24 | 393 |
| 10-02 | About 14k |
| 10-04 | About 263k (+250k over two days) |
| 10-07 | About 266k |
| 10-08 | About 774k (+508k in one day) |
| 10-17 | About 1.01M |
| 11-06 | 1.23M |
Source: third-party estimates of Google Play installs (October); November figures are Google Play installs.
+250k over two days, a three-day pause, then +500k in a single day, followed by a decline: mid-October still saw 2–40k a day, early November only a few thousand a day, and on 11-02 and 11-05 the figure was 0. This is budget-switched advertising, not word of mouth. Word of mouth doesn't add 500k in a day, and it doesn't stop every other day.
The chart data fits too: it only appeared on India's Google Play "Lifestyle" free chart, peaking at #46; on Oct 29 it briefly appeared once on the same chart in the UAE (#168), and it has never entered any top-grossing chart.
Where users come from: fake experts, emotional hooks, local language
The creative formula is consistent, and breaks down into four parts:
- Emotionally anxious questions: "Is my partner loyal?" "Is my soulmate near you?" "See what your future soulmate looks like."
- A local occult shell: Kundli, Rashi, Pandit. Users recognize the vocabulary, and the AI just makes it "scarily accurate."
- Local language: Hindi and Telugu, plus Hinglish (English-Hindi mix), not translated-sounding English.
- Expert-persona pages: the pages aren't named after the app; they're named "Pandit Aadhya" and "Astro Aditya", categorized as "Astrologer". To users, it reads as an astrologer speaking, not an app ad.
These videos are all pinned to a page for an app called "AI Astrology for you." The same page also shows creatives under names like "AI Horoscope: Palm & Tarot," "VedaSky: AI Astrology," and "Astrology AI: Tarot & Horoscope," all using the same Hindi headline. Likely one advertiser is running the same template across several apps *(inference, ownership not verified)*.
Other channels can mostly be ruled out. The store title and description are stuffed with Kundli, Rashifal, Panchang, and Soulmate keywords, but an app ranked around #40 with only 600 ratings can't drive hundreds of thousands of organic searches a day. Nobody on X, Reddit, or the press has mentioned it. TikTok is banned in India. There are plenty of "Your Soulmate Location 😱"-style YouTube Shorts, but I found none naming the app.
How the money comes in: every tap triggers an interstitial,
There are no in-app purchases, so ads are the only revenue. The store page's data safety section says it shares device IDs and app activity with third parties, i.e. ad SDKs.
The math is simple: Facebook installs on Android in India are cheap *(usually a few US cents each, exact figure unverified)*. Users come in, and every feature use triggers an interstitial or rewarded video. The first few opens pay back the install cost. What a user is worth depends on how many ads they watch before they leave.
The reviews show this side clearly. The top-upvoted one-star review on the India Google Play listing (10-04,25 people found it helpful):
I used it for about 15–20 minutes, and most of that time I was watching ads, not using features. The ads pop up too often... at this level they make the app almost unusable.
The second most upvoted review (Shweta Dubey, 10-14,18 helpful votes): "Waste of time too many add." Another says "only ads, it burned through 1GB of data in five minutes."
Yet its overall rating is 4.8. With 1.23M installs there are only about 600 ratings, roughly one per two thousand installs, far below the rate organic users would produce. Upvoted bad reviews sitting next to a 4.8-star average don't add up; whether good ratings were solicited is unverified.
Who is behind it
The developer is Fusion Flow Tech, with store contact info registered in Hoang Mai, Hanoi. It's a studio that makes whatever category is trending:
| App | Launched | Installs |
|---|---|---|
| Silly Fun Smile Live Wallpaper | 2025-12 | 14M |
| Themebox - App icons, Widgets | 2025-08 | 13M |

wallpapers, icons, fidget spinners, AI image generation, AI video, astrology. The categories jump around, but the pattern is the same: utility apps, ad monetization, paid acquisition. NakshAI launched less than a month ago, and they've already put out AstroLuna: Soulmate Sketch, the same "soulmate" theme in new packaging aimed at Mexico, where it hit #42 on the free Lifestyle chart. AstroLuna's store rating is only 1.9.
Who it's competing with: 54 apps on the same chart
Nov 6: In India's Google Play Lifestyle Top Free chart, 54 of the top 200 apps have astrology, Kundli or tarot in their names. NakshAI is ranked #47 and is the 18 of those 54 apps.
| Competitors | Scale (Google Play, 11-06) | How it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Astrotalk | 115M installs, +7k in the last 580 days, #7 on the chart | Pay-per-minute real astrologers, a major Indian local brand |
| AstroSage Kundli | 82.3M, +7k in the last 300 days | A long-running Kundli tool from 2011, now with live consultations and AI |
| Reva - Personal AI Astrologer | 7.73M, +7k in the last 720 days, #2 on the chart | Launched the same week as NakshAI, with 6× its volume and in-app purchases. The developer package name suggests a major Indian company *(inference)* |
| Astro99 / Tarot99 | 16.1M / 10.1M | Also AI astrology, one order of magnitude bigger |
| MyNaksh | 2M | Almost identical name, with a website and real astrologers |
| Vietnamese peers (Kienmaly Mobi, HOA BINH, VN Atomax, etc.) | Tens of thousands up to 600k | Same playbook of paid acquisition plus ads. Kienmaly Mobi's Astrology: Palm Reader & Tarot launched 10-12 ago and already has 590k installs and is #10 on the chart |
One more ring out, ChatGPT and Gemini: free and ad-free, they'll answer chart questions directly, though they don't auto-generate a Kundli.
In short: on this chart, Indian local platforms sell real astrologers and paid Q&A, while overseas studios sell paid acquisition plus ads. NakshAI is in the second group, and that group already has a dozen-plus players, including some that launched later and are growing faster.
What's worth learning from it
The product itself has nothing to learn from. Kundli, horoscopes, compatibility, tarot, and AI chat are offered by every app on the chart. The bad reviews show it can't hold users.
The creative formula is worth noting: a Western emotional hook that has worked before (soulmate portrait / location) + a local astrology wrapper (Kundli, Rashi) + vertical short video in the local language + an expert persona page. On Facebook in India, this combination can bring in hundreds of thousands of installs in a week for very little money. There's also the studio's cadence: no betting on a long-term app; once a theme works, reskin it and move to a new market.
The cautionary lesson is just as clear: interstitials every "five minutes per gigabyte" produce a wall of upvoted bad reviews and daily installs that fall to a few thousand. On the same chart, Reva and Astrotalk keep climbing because users pay for a Q&A or a consultation, not to watch ads.
If it were you
One-line verdict: don't copy "AI astrology + interstitial ads" in India. The chart already has 54 apps, and there are a dozen Vietnamese studios running the same playbook. What's worth taking is the creative formula and the "reskin and move markets" cadence.
Who it's for: small teams already building ad-monetized utility apps, able to run Meta campaigns and write local-language creative, looking for a new market where this "emotional hook + local astrology + expert persona" formula can be reused.
Who it's not for: anyone who can't run paid campaigns and is counting on organic store traffic, or anyone trying to build a long-lasting astrology product without real astrologer supply or paid Q&A capability (India's market belongs to Astrotalk, AstroSage, and Reva).
How to do it: pick a local astrology market that Vietnamese studios haven't saturated yet: Indonesia and Malaysia (primbon, weton), Thailand (ดูดวง), Turkey and the Middle East (coffee-ground fortune telling), Brazil (signos, tarô) *(inference, competition levels unverified)*. Keep the product lean: put one hook feature on the home screen (soulmate portrait, partner loyalty check), and set the ad frequency a notch more conservative than NakshAI's, with no interstitials for the first three opens. If you can add a one-time-payment Q&A, do it, and don't rely on ads alone.
How to acquire users: Facebook / Instagram Reels, vertical video in the local language. Rotate two or three "astrologer" persona pages, with headlines that ask a direct question about an emotional anxiety. Test a dozen-plus creatives with a small budget in one country, and scale whichever ones pay back the install cost within the first few opens *(inference)*.
How early you need to be: this kind of theme went from empty to crowded in India in about two months (first batch launched in September, 54 apps on the November chart). To enter a new market, you need to launch and start spending before copycat studios reskin their way in, meaning within one to two months.
Signs you've got it wrong: ① NakshAI or AstroLuna has another step-change surge in December, which would mean this playbook pays back better than it looks and India isn't saturated yet; ② in your chosen new market, three or more similar apps on Google Play reach hundreds of thousands of installs within a month, which means you're too late; ③ Meta starts mass-banning "fake expert" persona pages, or Google Play tightens its ad policy for astrology apps, which would shut this route down quickly.

One line
Fusion Flow Tech, a Hanoi-based paid-acquisition and ad-monetization studio (Play developer info: Tran Dinh Dan, Hoang Mai, Hà Nội), makes an India-targeted "AI Vedic astrology + Kundli + tarot + soulmate location" tool. It has no in-app purchases and is monetized purely through interstitial ads. Its 1.23M installs come almost entirely from Facebook/Instagram paid acquisition, using a batch of fake "Pandit" persona Pages that run Hindi and Telugu short videos. This isn't a product that won; it's arbitrage between cheap Indian traffic and AdMob ad monetization, a playbook that already has a dozen-plus Vietnamese, Indian, and Middle Eastern studios competing in the same category.
1. Data: how it grew
- Store launch 2026-09-09 (Play store info; app table released).
- Cumulative installs estimated by AppstoreSpy (googleplay.app_day_ext):
- 09-24 393 → 10-02 14k → 10-04 263k (+250k over two days) → 10-07 266k → 10-08 774k (+508k in one day) → 10-09 846k → 10-17 1.01M → 10-27 1.17M.
- Our own collection (app_day): 10-29 1.17M → 11-06 1.23M; +7k over the last 60 days. Daily adds fell from 2–40k per day in mid-October to a few thousand per day in early November (11-04 + 5,477,11-06 + 6,490, with some days of 0 growth in between).
- The curve shows several step-change surges followed by fast decay. Organic growth doesn't produce 500k in a day. The steps line up with concentrated campaigns, and the November decline suggests the spend is being pulled back.
- Chart (chart_rank): only on India's LIFESTYLE free chart, best rank #46 (on the chart from 11-01 to 11-06). 10-29 once on the UAE LIFESTYLE free chart at #168. Never on any grossing chart.
- Store page: "Contains ads", no in-app purchases (app_snap.offers_iap=False, ad_supported=True). Rating 4.8, only about 600 ratings / reviews (1.23M installs against 600 reviews, 1:2000, far below what organic users would leave, typical of paid-acquisition users).
- The most visible reviews are all about ads: "Used it for 15–20 minutes, most of the time spent watching ads" (10-04,25 found it helpful), "All ads, burned through 1GB of data in five minutes" (10-06), "Waste of time too many add" (10-14). The 4.8-star rating doesn't match these top-liked negative reviews, so the rating may have been manipulated (unverified).
2. Where users came from (growth tactics)
Meta paid acquisition + fake persona Pages (confirmed)
Jina surfaced a batch of Facebook videos / Reels, all under an App page called "AI Astrology for you". The posters are a group of "astrologer" persona Pages created 2026 years ago (IDs all in the 6159xxxxxxxxx range, new accounts):
- "Pandit Aadhya" (Astrologist & Psychic): "Kundli + AI = scary accurate predictions 😳 NakshAI ab India ka fastest growing astrology app", titled "Is my partner loyal to me?", posted 10-13 (facebook.com/61594943312789/videos/…/1104434015287580). The same Page has several others, including "Meet Your Future Soulmate" and "Curious about your soulmate? Discover a sketch…".
- "Pandit Meera" and "Astro Aditya" appear in the same batch of creatives.
- "Astro AI Kundli" (facebook.com/61593959765860): Hindi "क्या आपका Soulmate आपके करीब है?" (Is your soulmate near you?), posted 10-16, 212k views, 10 likes. Views and engagement are badly out of proportion, a hallmark of paid distribution. There is also a Telugu version ("Answer your questions with AI"). The page is labeled "Nakshai: Tarot & Astrology."
- Creative themes: whether a partner is loyal, where your soulmate is and what they look like, Kundli + AI is very accurate. Emotional-anxiety hooks, in multiple languages (Hindi, Telugu, Hinglish).
- Our metaads library doesn't index these Pages (our keyword list covers only US/GB/DE/JP and has no astrology terms), so we can't get the active ad count. A sibling app from the same developer, an AI video app (ai.fusion.character.merge, metaads.app_link), has a Page running 36 ads.
- Creatives with names like "AI Horoscope: Palm & Tarot" and "VedaSky: AI Astrology" also appear under the same "AI Astrology for you" App page. It may be one ad agency or one template set running for several apps; attribution unverified.
Other channels
- Store search: the title is stuffed with keywords (NakshAI = NakshNakshatra + AI, subtitle Astrology & Tarot; the description repeats Kundli, Rashifal, Panchang, Shubh Muhurat, Soulmate). Some ASO effort is visible, but 600 reviews and a 47 ranking position can't support tens of thousands of organic installs a day.
- YouTube Shorts has many "Your Soulmate Location 😱"-style videos (9.3K views and so on), but none found naming NakshAI.
- X (x-radar, 60 posts in the last 0 days), Reddit and media: no mentions at all. TikTok is banned in India, so it isn't a channel.
- APK mirror sites (Uptodown, Softonic, FileHippo, APKPure, CNET) all list it. That's automatic indexing, not a growth source.
Where the money comes from
No in-app purchases, only ads (the Data safety section declares sharing Device ID / App activity with third parties, i.e. ad SDKs). The model looks like this: Meta CPI in India is very low (Indian Android paid installs typically run a few cents; exact figure unverified). Users come in, and every feature use triggers an interstitial or rewarded video, so a few impressions on day one pay back the install. AppGazers estimates this app earns < $5K/month with 6.6–310k downloads/month (80% range, a model estimate, appgazers.com/reports/developers/android-Fusion+Flow+Tech). It estimates store in-app purchase revenue; ad revenue is not visible to it.

AppBrain says the developer has been active since 2025, with 12 apps and about 60M cumulative installs; AppGazers says 17 apps. The portfolio jumps across categories (wallpapers, icons, fidget spinners, AI image generation, prank sound effects, AI video, astrology), with a common pattern: utility-style, ad-monetized, driven by paid acquisition. Support email [email protected], website fusion-flow.co. NakshAI is the developer's move to bring the trending "AI astrology" theme to India. A month later it released AstroLuna: Soulmate Sketch for Latin America (charted in Mexico). It is copying itself, re-skinning the same astrology / soulmate theme for new markets.
4. Competitors: this category is already crowded
On India's LIFESTYLE Top Free chart 2026-11-06 (googleplay.v_chart), the top 200 include 54 apps with astrology / Kundli / tarot in their names. NakshAI ranks #47, which makes it #18 among these 54. The main groups:

| Kienmaly Mobi (Astrology: Palm Reader & Tarot, 10-12 published, 590k, IN LIFESTYLE 10), HOA BINH (Astraea), VN Atomax, PNS E&C, SON LONG THUAN (TarotVerse), Amobear | Android | 2026-08~10 | Tens of thousands up to 600k | Vietnamese peers: palm reading + tarot + birth charts, same paid acquisition and ads, launched after NakshAI and already growing faster |
| Asking ChatGPT / Gemini directly for a birth chart | Big-company features | — | — | Free with no ads, but does not auto-generate Kundli |
5. Differentiation
- Almost no product moat: Kundli, Rashifal, Panchang, Guna Milan, tarot and AI chat are offered by every player. The only eye-catching hook is "Soulmate Location" (where your soulmate is) and "soulmate sketch". That was imported from a viral Western TikTok trend (AI-drawn soulmates), wrapped in a Vedic astrology shell and sold to Indian users. The ad creatives all lean on this hook.
- Compared with local players Astrotalk, AstroSage and MyNaksh, it has no live astrologers and no paid tier. It is purely light entertainment + ads. Compared with the Vietnamese peers, it adds Indian-specific content (Janam Kundli, Panchang, Shubh Muhurat, Hinglish creatives, Pandit personas).
- These differences only decide whether the bought users stay and how many ad views each session yields. They are not why it took off. It took off on concentrated paid campaigns in early October. The negative reviews show retention is poor, so each user's value is ad revenue from their first few sessions.
6. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: few people know about it. X shows 0 posts, no media coverage, no one has disclosed revenue. Only automatic APK-site listings and data sites like AppGazers / Peekly list it. The ad creative itself claims "India ka fastest growing astrology app".
- Copycats: this is not a playbook it pioneered. Over a dozen similar apps appeared in the same period (Kienmaly Mobi, HOA BINH, VN Atomax, Ahc Foundation, DN Solutions, etc.). The developer itself put out a re-skinned AstroLuna: Soulmate Sketch for Mexico 10-07.
7. What to borrow
- The creative formula, "a trending Western emotional hook (soulmate sketch / location) + a local mystical shell (Kundli / Rashi) + short-video creatives in local languages + fake expert persona Pages", can fill tens of thousands of installs within a week on Meta in India at low cost.
- Studio playbook: don't bet on one app long-term. Once a theme works, re-skin it immediately for the next market (India → Latin America).
- Cautionary lesson: dense interstitials cause clusters of top-liked negative reviews and heavy traffic cost. If you build something similar, the key to lasting is whether you can replace pure ads with subscriptions or paid Q&A (the Reva and Astrotalk route).
8. Uncertain
- Actual ad spend, CPI, ad eCPM and ROI are unknown; the metaads library doesn't cover these Pages.
- Whether the "AI Astrology for you" App page belongs only to Fusion Flow or is shared by an agency across several apps is unverified.
- Whether the two growth steps 10-04 and 10-08 also stacked Google App Campaign (UAC) or incentivized-offer-wall traffic is unverified.
- Whether the 4.8-star rating involved incentivized positive reviews is unverified.
- Retention and real DAU are unknown. Growth clearly slowed in November, possibly because spend was cut or ROI deteriorated.
