A Ukrainian's map of "what's flying in the sky": over 460k installs in a month, traffic came from the web first
What it is A real-time map of air attacks over Ukraine: it shows alerts by region, and uses AI to parse messages from Telegram monitoring channels into the positions and headings of Shaheds, missiles and guided bombs, with push notifications and voice alerts.
Why it took off Air attacks have become more frequent this autumn, and people want to know not just whether there's an alert but how far away it is. The official app only added a coarse target map in 10-17, and then got hacked in 11-01, while NEPTUN had already taken the top search spot for terms like "Shahed map" with a free website.
CHow you could follow it Don't build another alert map for Ukraine. Copy the sequence instead: pick a real-time need where the official local-language offering is rough (power outages, water cuts, disaster warnings, border crossing queues), build a free website first with landing pages for high-frequency terms and cities, trade open data for links, then move users into a push-enabled app and make money with ads and a PRO tier.

On the night of Oct 21, Russia launched 186 drones at Ukraine (88 of them jet-powered Shahed) plus Iskander-K cruise missiles. That same day, an app called NEPTUN gained about 68k installs on Google Play. It was built by Ukrainian indie dev Volodymyr Malik; its Play listing name is "Ukraine Alert Map: Dron Alerts." It overlays official air raid alerts and targets reported by dozens of Telegram monitoring channels on a dark map, showing how far each Shahed is from you, which way it's heading, and how many minutes it has until arrival. By Nov 5 it had 1.25M installs on Play and ranked #2 on the iOS Ukraine store's overall free chart. Below: what it is, why this autumn, where the traffic came from, where the money comes from, who's competing, and what you can take from it.
What people in shelters want to know is more than just "is there an alert"
Almost every Ukrainian phone has the official "Повітряна тривога" (air raid alert) app, 17.6M installs on Play. It answers one question: is there an alert in your oblast right now? But night attacks have become more frequent this autumn, and one oblast can have alerts sounding for hours a night. What people want now is: where is that thing right now, and is it coming for me?
NEPTUN answers exactly that. Features listed on the store page:
- Alerts are shown by district, not the whole oblast; high-danger levels are colored in red; DeepState occupied-territory overlay;
- 7 target types are distinguished by differently colored silhouettes: Shahed, jet Shahed, reconnaissance drones, aircraft, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, guided bombs (KAB), with a counter at the top showing how many of each are airborne;
- The "Now" list is sorted by distance from your home, nearest first; each target shows distance, heading, estimated arrival time, and source;
- "Radio mode" uses voice announcements to call out nearby targets, e.g. "Шахед, 42 кілометри, курс на Бровари" (Shahed, 42 km, heading to Brovary);
- There's a chat room; from the November version, you can read it without buying PRO, and verifying your phone number once lets you post.
The inputs are all public: the official alert API, plus text messages posted on Telegram by oblast military administrations, the air force, and civilian monitoring channels. Its website explains it plainly: AI classifies targets and estimates headings, and the map refreshes every 5 seconds. One person plus an LLM can maintain national coverage.
Why this autumn
The install curve alone tells the story (Play global cumulative; monthly new installs are AppstoreSpy estimates):
| Month | New this month (est.) | Cumulative at month end |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-06 | ~22k | ~230k |
| 2026-07 | ~87k | ~330k |
| 2026-08 | ~120k | ~460k |
| 2026-09 | ~260k | ~710k |
| 2026-10 | ~460k | ~1.13M |
| 11-01 to 11-05 | ~85k | 1.25M |
From September to October, it doubled every month. Three things drove it:
- The attacks got denser. Single-day spikes landed on the days of large-scale raids: 10-21 +68k, 10-23 to 10-25 at 2 to 26k per day (10-25 night had 153 drones, 92 of them jet), 11-05 +42k. Its main rival RadarUA also peaked on those same days, with +78k on 10-21. The whole category rose together; no single product did something uniquely right.
- The official side educated the whole category. On Oct 17, the official app launched a "rough target movement map" with support from the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Defense, and Ukrainian media wrote widely that "you can now see where Shahed are flying." The official side made the need clear, but the map was crude: no distance from home, no voice.
- The official app had an incident. On Nov 1, the official app was hacked and pushed false nuclear/chemical threat alerts to users; Reuters, CNN, and The Guardian all reported it. Over the following days, all three grew (official +66k, RadarUA +71k, NEPTUN +42k; the official one is 11-05). How many people switched apps because they stopped trusting the official one can't be told from the outside.
NEPTUN's iOS version launched on Jan 30, more than half a year before the official map. By the time the official side made "where the targets are" common knowledge, it was already sitting at the top of search results.
Where the traffic came from: a free website first
This is the most instructive part of the product. Before the app, it had a website, neptun.in.ua, running since 2025. The site is free, requires no sign-up, and carries no ads, and it was built around the terms Ukrainians search for every day:
- A landing page for each high-frequency term: "карта тривог" (alert map), "карта шахедів" (Shahed map), "радар шахедів" (Shahed radar), "тривога зараз" (is there an alert now), "повітряна тривога" (air raid alert), each with its own page, plus city pages and an FAQ. In 11-06, searching in Ukrainian for "карта тривог шахедів додаток" or "neptun шахеди карта" put it first.
- One safety explainer a week: from April 2026 on, almost weekly, covering the "two-wall rule," what a KAB is, and how long a Shahed takes to reach your city. These are SEO long-tail content and also build trust.
- City pages funnel users into the app: the Play download links on the site carry
utm_source=neptun.in.ua&utm_campaign=city, showing that users were funneled into the app one by one from city pages. - Free open data in exchange for links on other sites: neptun.in.ua/developers offers a keyless REST API, a WebSocket live stream, a JS SDK, and a map widget embeddable in one line of code, with one condition: keep a visible NEPTUN link. KUPOL (kupol.in.ua), launched Oct 22, uses its data directly, with "Дані: NEPTUN" (Data: NEPTUN) in the footer.
There are two small tricks on the store side too: the Play title is localized per language, and the Ukrainian title is "Карта тривог - Dron Alerts," putting the category keyword right in the title; on iOS it was not placed in the "News" category where the official app and RadarUA sit, but in "Utilities," where it ranked #1 (Ukraine App Store, 11-06).
On TikTok it has an official account, @neptrun_ukr, with 144k followers, but has posted only 14 videos, mostly in May; the latest is 10-18. The viral posts under the "карта шахедів" hashtag are all users' rants and jokes, not its own content. No paid acquisition was found, but not finding it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
What users say: praise for accuracy, complaints about speed
On the iOS Ukraine store there are 18k ratings averaging 4.7, with 1,949 more in the last 7 days; on Play it's 4.6 stars with about 29k reviews. But the comments in late October were loud, because on Oct 20 it had just shipped a major redesign (the website launched "NEPTUN 2.0" at the same time), and the next day collided with a big air raid:
- "After the update, the roads and houses are gone" "Where did the chat room go" "Give me back the old version" (10-21, iOS);
- "It says a Shahed is nearby and to get into a shelter, but that Shahed crashed 50 km away two minutes ago. And you want people to pay for this pile of garbage data" (10-25,1 stars);
- "The alert notification arrived 20 minutes late" (11-03,1 stars);
- "Accuracy is decent, but the voice announcements are unlistenable, unlike other apps. The PRO price is clearly set too high" (11-02,4 stars);
- "Thank you for saving Ukrainian lives every day" (10-24,5 stars).
These negative reviews show exactly where the moat is: the raw inputs are available to everyone, so the competition is over parsing accuracy, push speed, and false-alarm rate. In this category, one false alarm means a one-star review.
Where the money comes from
The app carries ads, and PRO removes them and unlocks advanced features, with in-app purchases on Play priced at $2.79 to $11.99. The developer has never disclosed revenue. AppGazers' model estimates October Play in-app purchase revenue at between $6,500 and $31,000 (an estimate, excluding ads and iOS). Some users complained of seeing 18+ ads in the app, suggesting it's on an ad network with little filtering.
A one-person operation with free inputs can make a very good living from this. But its user base is a fraction of the official app's, and it isn't ahead of RadarUA either.
Who it's competing with
| Product | Launched | Scale (11-06) | Compared with alternatives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Повітряна тривога (official, built by Ajax Systems / Stfalcon) | 2022-03 | Play 17.6M installs, +177k in 7 days; iOS overall free chart #21 | The source of the alerts; 10-17 added a rougher target map; 11-01 was hacked |
| Карта Тривог - RadarUA | Play 2026-06-23 | Play 1.04M, +140k in 7 days; iOS overall free chart #6 | Nearly identical in form, started later, but about 630k new in October, more than NEPTUN's 460k |
| Neboskhyl | 2026-10 | Play 16k; iOS overall free chart #20 | Newly entered, pitched on Android Auto and fast to open at peak times |
| alerts.in.ua | From ¥2022 | 690k on Play | The alert map media cite by default; traffic is mainly web, with weak target tracking |
| KUPOL | 2026-10-22 | Play 3,920 | Directly uses NEPTUN's open data |
| AirAlert, UNebo, Trevoga, Radar BPLA, etc. | 2020–2026 | A few thousand to 850k | Alert-only, or small Russian-language apps |
The one to watch is RadarUA: listed in June, with nearly one-to-one feature parity, it chased to 1M installs in four months, and its growth on Play was even faster. This shows that on this demand curve, same-form products can all take off; product differentiation isn't the deciding factor, timing is. It also means this position is already crowded as of November.
If it were you
C: copy its playbook, not its market. Ukraine's "target map" niche is already packed with the official app, NEPTUN, and RadarUA, and the official side added a map in October too. Demand is entirely tied to the war: if the ceasefire comes or the raids decline, the whole category shrinks together.
Who it suits: indie devs who know a minority language, have a real-time information need that locals check every day but official sources do poorly, can do SEO, and can use an LLM to turn messy text messages into structured data.
Who it doesn't suit: anyone who wants to build yet another alert map in Ukraine (there's no room for a fourth player, and one false alarm means one star); anyone unwilling to touch sensitive topics like war and disasters; anyone counting on paid acquisition to get started, since this category's traffic comes from search and breaking events.
How to do it: follow its sequence. Pick one local-language, high-frequency need: power outage schedules, water shutoff notices, air quality, earthquake and flood warnings, traffic controls, border crossing queues. Find public inputs: official APIs, Telegram or WhatsApp channels, government announcements. Use an LLM to parse them into "what time, where, how far from you." Start with a free, no-sign-up, ad-free website, one landing page per high-frequency term and one page per city, with utm tags to move people into the app. Make money in the app with push notifications, sorting by distance from home, and voice announcements, things a website can't do, plus ads and a PRO tier that removes them.
How to acquire users: through search, not ads. One page per high-frequency term, one related explainer a week; open your data for free on one condition: anyone who uses it links back to you. In the store, aim for the top spot in a category where the big rivals aren't.
When to move, before what: there's no single deadline, but every such need has a window where "the official side hasn't done it well yet." NEPTUN won by getting there more than half a year before the official side. If you enter after the official side or the media have spelled out the need, you're the fifth player after RadarUA.
What would signal you read it wrong: if NEPTUN and RadarUA's new installs drop noticeably in December while the raids haven't eased, it means third-party room is being squeezed out once the official map catches up, and the "ahead of the official app" window is shorter than it looks. Conversely, if the need you pick returns results for "XX map" or "XX now" in the local language with the top spots taken by news sites and text channels and no real tool among them, that gap is real.

One line
NEPTUN is a Ukrainian indie project (Play credits Володимир Малік, iOS credits Volodymyr Malik) that maps "what's flying in the sky right now." It takes official air-raid alerts (by district) and target messages from dozens of Telegram monitoring channels (Shahed, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, KAB guided bombs...), parses and geocodes them with AI, and overlays them on a dark map, with push alerts and voice announcements. On Play it's called "Ukraine Alert Map: Dron Alerts", in Ukrainian "Карта тривог - Dron Alerts". It took off mainly because demand for this category surged: in the autumn of 2026, Russian air strikes intensified, the official app 10-17 added a "target movement map" that confirmed the demand, and 11-01 the official app was hacked again. NEPTUN's way of capturing this wave was the website neptun.in.ua, built since 2025, which gathered traffic first through high-frequency Ukrainian SEO ("карта тривог / карта шахедів / радар шахедів") and a free public API, then pushed users to the app. But it isn't the only one that broke out: RadarUA launched 2026-06 and got even more new installs than NEPTUN in October.
1. Who they are
- Developer: an individual. Listed on Play as "Володимир Малік", contact email [email protected], developer site neptun.in.ua [googleplay library, app table]. The library shows only this one app from this developer. No company or funding information found (unverified).
- Website neptun.in.ua: calls itself "a Ukrainian monitoring platform." Sources are regional military administrations (ОВА), the Air Force's official Telegram channels and other public channels. AI classifies target types and estimates heading, and the map refreshes every 5 seconds. The site is free, needs no sign-up and has no ads [neptun.in.ua/about, neptun.in.ua/en]. Earliest traces found: a TikTok video from 2025-06 (@neptun_ukr, 228k views) and a Threads recommendation post from 2026-01-08 [TikHub; threads.com/@korysnosti4gadgets].
- Product features (Play Ukrainian listing):
- Alerts shown by district rather than by region, with red danger-level areas highlighted and DeepState occupied areas overlaid;
- 7 target types marked with colored silhouettes, and a counter at the top for how many are in the air; the "now" list is sorted by distance from "home," plus a "past 3 hours" view;
- Target cards show distance to home, heading, estimated arrival time and source;
- "Radio mode": voice announces nearby targets ("Шахед, 42 кілометри, курс на Бровари");
- Has a chat room (open to everyone since the November version: no PRO needed to view, and one phone verification lets you post) [app.recent_changes].
- Monetization: ads inside the app, and a PRO subscription removes ads and unlocks advanced features. Play in-app purchases $2.79–$11.99 [googleplay library, app_snap].
- Platforms: Android + iOS (App Store id 6758108122, first listed 2026-01-30; UA store 18,004 ratings, average 4.7, +1,949 in the last 7 days) [iTunes lookup; appstore library 2026-11-06]. Current Play average 4.6 with about 29k reviews [Play Ukrainian listing]. The "about 3.6 on Play" figure in the data card's recall reason doesn't match the current numbers.
2. Growth data
Play cumulative global installs (googleplay library; the 6 to October figures are AppstoreSpy historical estimates, spread evenly between observations):
| Month | New installs this month (AppstoreSpy estimate) | Cumulative at month end |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-06 (from 10) | ~22k | ~232k |
| 2026-07 | ~87k | ~325k |
| 2026-08 | ~120k | ~456k |
| 2026-09 | ~256k | ~714k |
| 2026-10 | ~463k | ~1.13M |
| 2026-11-01~05 | ~85k | 1,248,604 |
- By 2026-06-10 it already had 217k installs. So the released = 2026-08-04 in the library and release_date = 2026-10-22 on the data card are dates reset after the store changed its info (
released_reset = True), not the real launch date. - Single-day peaks: 10-21 +68k, 10-23–25 2.1–26k a day, 11-05 +42k [app_day_ext / app_day].
- +116,554 over the last 7 days [app_profile].
- Charts: the library has no Ukraine region for Play, so it only appears in Poland. The Poland free Maps & Navigation chart climbed from #49 in 10-29 to #18 in 11-05. Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK sat between #100 and #200. These were driven by Ukrainians abroad. The Top Grossing category charts stalled at #90–#100 with nearly the same rank everywhere, likely one shared aggregate chart, so they are not evidence of revenue [chart_rank].
- iOS Ukraine store: #2 on the overall free chart, #1 in Utilities [appstore library 2026-11-06]. This is the most direct evidence of its real standing at home.
- Revenue: the AppGazers model estimates Play in-app purchases of $6.5K–$31K in October over 2026 years, with October downloads of 58k–273k (model estimate, excludes ad revenue) [appgazers.com/reports/apps/android-com.neptunalarm.neptun_alarm_app]. The founder has not disclosed revenue.
3. Competitors (all doing "alerts + where the targets are")
| Product | Platform | Launched | Scale (2026-11-06) | How it differs from NEPTUN |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Повітряна тривога (Ajax Systems / Stfalcon, the official app built with the Ministry of Digital Transformation) | Android / iOS | 2022-03 | Play 17.6M installs, +177k in 7 days; iOS UA 348k ratings, #21 overall free chart | The official alert source. Added an "approximate target movement map" in 2026-10-17 (Ministry of Digital Transformation + Ministry of Defence, data from the Air Force) [pravda.com.ua 2026-10-17; dou.ua; unian]. Hacked in 2026-11-01, pushing fake nuclear / chemical threats [Reuters, CNN, Guardian 2026-11-01/02]. Its map is coarser than NEPTUN's, with fewer targets, and it has no voice mode or "distance from home." |
| Карта Тривог - RadarUA(K Develop & Media / SERHII KYRYLOV) | Android / iOS | Play 2026-06-23,iOS 2026-07-21 | Play 1.04M, +140k in 7 days (more than NEPTUN); iOS UA 14.4k ratings, #6 overall free chart | The closest rival to NEPTUN, nearly identical in form (Shahed map, push alerts, chat, multiple alert sounds). It started later but is growing faster: about 630k new installs in October vs about 460k for NEPTUN [app_day_ext]. |
| Neboskhyl: Air Raid Alert Map(OpexApps / Artem Kutukov) | Android / iOS | 2026-10 | Play 16k; iOS UA 2,250 ratings, +1,307 in 7 days, #20 overall free chart | A newer follower, focused on Android Auto and fast opening under heavy load. |
| alerts.in.ua(Ukrzen) | Web + Android | Since 2022 (Play 2023-03) | Play 690k; its website is the alert map media outlets cite by default (glavcom's daily "карта тривог онлайн" links to it) | Mainly shows alert status, with alert causes too, but weak target tracking; traffic is mostly on the web |
| AirAlert (chichi), УНебо, Мапа тривог віджет (Stfalcon) | Android / iOS | 2020–2024 | 850k / iOS 921 / iOS 5,253 ratings | Alerts only, no target tracking. |
| Тревога, Радар БПЛА - Карта Тревог, Карта БПЛА — радар онлайн | Android | 2026-06~10 | 61k / 42k / 5.8 thousand | Small Russian-language apps, some clearly aimed at audiences inside Russia |
| KUPOL(kupol.in.ua) | Web + app | 2026-10-22 | Play 3,920 | Uses NEPTUN's public API data directly (the site footer reads "Дані: NEPTUN") [kupol.in.ua] |
| dimap.live, mapa.ua, skyalert.pp.ua, ukraine-radar.web.app, Telegram monitoring channels (e.g. povitryanatrivogaaa, єРадар) | Web / Telegram | From ¥2022 | Not verified | Web maps or text-only channels. These Telegram channels are literally NEPTUN's raw input. |
Bottom line: this category isn't empty, it's crowded. NEPTUN sits in the top tier at home, one of two or three leaders: #1 on iOS, tied with RadarUA on Play.
4. Where users came from (growth tactics)
- Web SEO, local-language high-frequency keywords (confirmed). neptun.in.ua built a landing page for each of "карта тривог", "карта шахедів", "радар шахедів", "тривога зараз" and "повітряна тривога", plus city-level pages, an FAQ, and an almost weekly safety explainer blog since 2026-04 (double-wall rule, what KAB is, how long a Shahed takes to reach your city...) [neptun.in.ua/blog]. Searching "карта тривог шахедів додаток" and "neptun alarm app шахеди карта" on Jina, neptun.in.ua ranks #1 for both. The download links on the site carry
utm_source=neptun.in.ua&utm_medium=app&utm_campaign=city, showing that city pages funnel users into the app [Play links in search results]. - Free public API / JS SDK / embed widget in exchange for backlinks (confirmed). neptun.in.ua/developers offers a keyless REST API, WebSocket and SDK, with one condition: "keep the visible NEPTUN link." Sites like KUPOL already use its data with attribution. The move trades one dataset for brand exposure and backlinks on other sites.
- Store search / ASO (confirmed). Play titles are localized per store: English "Ukraine Alert Map: Dron Alerts", Ukrainian "Карта тривог - Dron Alerts", with the category keyword written straight into the title. On iOS it sits in the Utilities category, avoiding the News category where the official app and RadarUA are, and reached #1 in Utilities [appstore library].
- TikTok (present, but small volume, confirmed). Official account @neptrun_ukr (144k followers, only 14 videos, 2026-05 posted in one batch, latest 10-18) and @neptun_ukr (3,426 followers) [TikHub]. The hit content under the "карта шахедів" hashtag is UGC venting and jokes, not NEPTUN's ads.
- Platform / geopolitical events (confirmed, affecting the whole category):
- 2026 9–October the whole category surged together. NEPTUN and RadarUA spiked on the same days (around 10-21 and 10-25; RadarUA +78k that day, NEPTUN +68k) [app_day_ext], likely downloads during mass air-raid nights;
- 2026-10-17 the official app launched a mobile map of targets, and media widely covered it as "you can now see where Shaheds are flying," turning this need into mainstream awareness [pravda, TSN, UNIAN, DOU];
- 2026-11-01 the official app was hacked and pushed fake nuclear alerts, covered by international media [Reuters, CNN, Guardian, Reddit r/worldnews]. In the days after, all three rose (official 11-05 +66k, RadarUA +71k, NEPTUN +42k). Whether any users migrated because they distrusted the official app can't be separated out yet.
- Paid acquisition: none found. Neither NEPTUN nor RadarUA appears in the Meta or Google ad libraries (neither is on our tracking list, so absence isn't proof of no spend). On X, no posts mentioning neptun.in.ua or RadarUA in 90 days [x-radar].
5. Why it took off
- The demand comes from the war, and it's more urgent in autumn: Shahed night attacks are increasing, and people no longer settle for "an alarm in your oblast" but want to know "how far it is, where it's heading, how many minutes away." The whole category doubling from 9 to October is the evidence.
- Turning "where is the target" into a product before the official side: NEPTUN's website has been running since 2025, and the app launched early 2026 (iOS 01-30). The official app only added a similar map in 10-17, and a cruder one. By the time the official side made this mainstream, NEPTUN already held the top search results and was capturing traffic.
- Traffic comes from the web first: SEO landing pages, a safety blog and an open API catch searches like "карта шахедів" that get searched many times a day. The site has no ads and no sign-up, so it wins trust first, then moves people to the app to monetize through push, ads and PRO.
- UX details suited to using it late at night in a shelter: dark-mode map, alerts by district, sorting by distance from home, voice announcements, and labels for source count and credibility. None of this exists in the official app. iOS rating 4.7, Play rating 4.6 [iTunes; Play page].
- Cost structure of one person plus AI parsing Telegram: the raw material is public Telegram channels and official alert APIs. An LLM classifies and geocodes the messages, so one person can maintain nationwide coverage.
6. Differentiation
- Compared with the official "Повітряна тривога": NEPTUN is "target-level" rather than "alert-level," with more target types (even reconnaissance drones and MiG-31K), plus distance-from-home / ETA, voice announcements, and credibility and source counts. It lacks the official authority and install base (17.6M), but the official map feature came more than half a year later, and 11-01 it had a hacking trust incident.
- Compared with RadarUA: very little difference, with nearly one-to-one feature parity. NEPTUN's extra edge is its website SEO and open API ecosystem (RadarUA also has radarua.com, scale unverified). On iOS NEPTUN ranks higher (#2 vs #6), while on Play RadarUA is growing faster.
- So differentiation is not the main reason it broke out. The real reasons were timing (demand surging) and the early-claimed SEO and web trust. On the same demand curve, RadarUA, with the same format, also took off, which shows product differences were not the deciding factor.
7. Visibility and copycats
- Visibility: known to locals, unknown abroad and in founder circles. It ranks #2 on Ukraine's iOS free overall chart, so local usage is high. But no major Ukrainian outlet has covered it specifically (media covered the official app and alerts.in.ua), it gets zero mentions on X, and the founder has never shared revenue. The only figure is from model-estimate pages like AppGazers ($6.5K–$31K/month).
- Copycats: already very crowded. RadarUA, Neboskhyl, KUPOL (directly consuming its API), Тревога, Радар БПЛА and others launched one after another from 2026 to 6–October.
8. What others can borrow
- The path "high-frequency local-language need → free ad-free web tool → city landing pages with utm links into the app → ads plus PRO in the app to remove them" suits any small-language, time-sensitive monitoring need, such as power outage schedules, air quality, earthquake / flood warnings, or traffic controls.
- "Free open API, on the condition that the attribution link is kept" trades data for backlinks and brand exposure at close to zero cost.
- "Use an LLM to turn messy Telegram / group-chat messages into structured map data": the raw material is public, and the moat comes from parsing quality, credibility labeling and speed.
- Choosing the store category to avoid strong rivals (Utilities on iOS instead of News) lets you take the category top spot.
9. Uncertain
- Who the developer is, whether it's one person or a team, and whether it has raised funding: unverified.
- NEPTUN's real web traffic, and the conversion from web to app: no data.
- Whether it runs paid acquisition: our ad libraries don't track these two, so not finding it doesn't mean it isn't there.
- After the official app 11-01 got hacked, did users migrate to third-party apps? All three are growing, but the migration effect can't be isolated yet.
- Ad revenue: no data. AppGazers' figures count only in-app purchases and are model estimates.
- Demand is tightly tied to the war: when a ceasefire or fewer air raids reduce demand, the category shrinks overall, so the durability of this business is the biggest uncertainty.
