Origami Joy: Fold Paper & Play · TOMODEV JSC

# One origami app took off and a dozen copies followed: Origami Joy is a long-shot ticket in the second tier

**What it is** An origami app: half step-by-step diagrams and videos for real paper folding, half a relaxing mini game of folding paper on screen, monetized with ads.

**Why it took off** Origami World first heated up origami with TikTok paper-toy videos that got millions of views. Origami Joy launched three months later on the same template. The Vietnamese publishing setup behind it most likely bought paid acquisition, and low entry thresholds on small-country category charts like Poland's pushed it up the charts fast.

**C** **How you could follow** Don't make the fifteenth origami clone on Android. What's worth taking is the timing approach (watch category charts for niche hobby apps that suddenly appear, and follow within one to two months after the early mover takes off) and the TikTok paper-toy content approach used by the early mover. On iOS this niche is still almost empty.

Grade C: it is itself a copycat. Over a dozen accounts on the same template are still shipping new apps, installs come from paid acquisition, and the product has no real differentiation. Following it means competing on acquisition cost against a pack of Vietnamese studios. What's worth learning is the method for picking products and driving traffic through content, not this app. Few people know about it yet

Origami Joy is an origami app published by an outsourcing company in Da Nang, Vietnam: half real-paper origami tutorials, half an on-screen "origami puzzle" mini game, monetized with ads. It adds 60k installs a week and climbed to #8 in Poland's Art & Design chart, which looks like a new hit. In fact this template was already proven by someone else in June, and it is one of more than a dozen copies that appeared over the following two to three months, with volume most likely bought through paid acquisition. This piece explains how the origami wave came about, how the money adds up, and why following one more copy now isn't worth it.

### A paper claw monster, 6.97M views

In 2026 Sep 25, TikTok account @origami.world217 posted a video: a claw from the Stranger Things Demogorgon, folded from paper, that opens and closes when you pinch its fingers. By Nov 6 this video had 6.97M views (TikTok, 11-06). The same account's "Tiny paper toy, BIG fun" from Sep 21 had 4.7M, and a Halloween "paper claw DIY" from Oct 4 had 2.12M, with the caption "Download now!" At the end of October it posted seven or eight videos a day, each ending with "Download Origami World to watch full tutorials".

This account drove traffic to Origami World: Learn & Play. The origami app launched at the end of June, and from late July it added 10 to 200k installs a day. By Nov 6 it had nearly 5M cumulative installs (Google Play install count, 11-06), and it was still growing 290k a week.

During the weeks it was at its peak, Sep 17, TOMODEV JSC in Da Nang launched Origami Joy: Fold Paper & Play.

### What it is

The first line of the store page reads "Ever felt stuck on a confusing diagram and ended up with crumpled sheets?" The feature list is long: a "spec card" before you start (paper size, thickness, which side faces up), step-by-step diagrams that follow the international Yoshizawa notation, videos for the hard steps, origami plus paper cutting, a mini game where you swipe paper on screen to "reveal a hidden pattern", a creation gallery for photos of finished pieces, and holiday-themed unlocks earned by clearing levels for coins.

Contains ads. In-app purchases run from $2.99 to $39.99 per item (Google Play, 11-06). The version has been 1.0.2 since Sep 25 and has not been updated since.

This "learn + play" dual-mode setup is the same thing as the line "Learn how to fold step by step or play with paper inside ready-made shapes" on Origami World's store page, just with different copy.

### How much it grew, and how

- **Almost zero a month after launch** : by Oct 9 it had only 254 cumulative installs (third-party estimate).

- **Oct 12 breakout** : about 3,400 that day, a single-day peak near 21k on Oct 30, and 29k cumulative by Oct 106.

- **Then stepped climbs** : 11-01 +27k, 11-03 +22k, 11-05 +6,100, 11-06 +4,800, 166,420 cumulative, and +60,044 over the last 7 days (Google Play installs, 11-06). It's clearly slowing in the last few days.

- **Charts** : on the Art & Design Top Free chart, Poland went from 24 to 8 (10-29 to 11-04), Italy 26, Sweden 30, France 37, Germany 44, while the US dropped from 86 to 118. Ranked in 25 countries in total. Nowhere on Top Grossing.

- **Ratings** : 4.6 stars from 645 reviews. The two reviews at the top of the store page are from Oct 11, "nice app for crafting with paper and games also," and Oct 16, "Origami is useful for childrens." Both have Indian-sounding names and land right around when the climb started. The rating distribution around Oct 29 to 1 to 5 stars, [0, 64, 0, 64, 320], looks unnatural, and one-star reviews only show up in early November (inference: early positive reviews may have been incentivized; unverified).

"A month of silence, then one day it opens up, then it climbs step by step" is the typical curve of paid acquisition being switched on (inference). Content hits usually form one spike and then fall off, not steps. Installs lead in cheap European Android markets (Poland, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands), which also fits a cost-per-install buy. No ads turned up in public ad libraries, but those libraries are far from complete, so paid acquisition is **unverified** .

Another number shows chart rank flatters real scale: on the same day's Poland Art & Design chart, #4 Origami World added 290k in a week, and #8 Origami Joy added 60k in a week. In a small country, this category charts top ten with a few thousand global installs a day, and chart position itself drives some organic traffic.

### A "paper folding craze": the same template, a dozen-plus accounts

Searching Google Play for apps with origami in the name (11-06):

| App | Developer | Launched | Total installs | past 7 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Origami World: Learn & Play | Neli Creative (Vietnam) | 2026-06 | 5M | +290k |
| Origami Fold & Paper Craft | SHINK COMPANY | 2026-08-18 | 600k | +83k |
| Origami Tutorial: Learn & Play | Shin Keuk | 2026-07-29 | 550k | +38k |
| Simple Origami: Paper Folding | Mixify Studio | 2026-07-30 | 410k | — |
| Origami Guide: Learn & Fold | A Hong Kong luxury car rental company's account | 2026-08-24 | 360k | +18k |
| Origami: Learn Paper Folding | Collectible Home Foundation | 2026-08-26 | 330k | +41k |
| **Origami Joy** | **TOMODEV JSC** | **2026-09-17** | **170k** | **+60k** |
| Origami: Paper Fold & Craft | VISUALFLOW LAB | 2026-09-25 | 110k | +15k |
| Origami AR / Art / Master / Play and others | several | 2026-08 to 10 | 8k to 36k | |

Older ones too: GeniusTools' pure-diagram app (2018 years, 2.09M), SkyWave (2022 years, 840k), and Azur Games' casual puzzle Paper Fold (156M), which is a completely different genre. New clones kept launching on Oct 12 and Oct 18.

iOS is a different picture: the established players are a few apps from 2017 to 2019 years old (Ketchapp's Origame with 84k ratings). The newer ones from 2026 are all from individual developer accounts in Vietnam, with single- to double-digit ratings. The iOS version of Origami World only launched at the end of August, with 16 US ratings. Origami Joy has no iOS version.

### Who's behind it: an outsourcing shop and multi-account publishing

TOMODEV's website describes itself as an IT outsourcing firm and also takes jobs on Japanese outsourcing platforms. Its Play account has 7 apps: a control center theme (510k), AI video (410k), DJ mixer (190k), Origami Joy (170k), two fitness apps, and an AI image app, roughly 1.33M installs combined, nearly all launched after August 2026. The DJ mixer follows the same shape: silence after launch, then +70k in a week, and a jump to #3 on Poland's music chart. This is a matrix that chases whatever is charting.

The key clue is the "developer website" field on the store page. It doesn't point to a website; it points to `lutech.vn/app-ads.txt`, an ad authorization file. About 10 other developer accounts list the same URL, including a few utility accounts with 30M installs each, over 100M installs combined. SHINK COMPANY from the table above (600k) is among them. Lutech Digital is a company in Da Nang that describes itself as "investing in and developing mobile apps and games," i.e., publishing. In other words, one publishing system runs both Origami accounts (inference: whether TOMODEV and Lutech are publisher, investor, or just share ad monetization can't be determined from outside).

### Where the money comes from

Mostly ads: banners, interstitials, rewarded videos. "Clear levels to earn coins, unlock holiday themes" is built to make room for rewarded videos, and descriptions mentioning "holiday decorations" and "Christmas ornaments" target Q4, when ad rates are highest. In-app purchases run $2.99 to $39.99, but it isn't on Top Grossing anywhere, so volume is probably small.

This is the standard Vietnamese app-factory math: buy installs in cheap European Android markets, get users to watch enough ads in a "relaxing mini-game," and keep spending as long as the ad revenue per user beats the acquisition cost. Whether it actually pencils out isn't visible from outside. Growth clearly slowed from Nov 5, possibly because they've pulled back on spend (inference).

### Why it took off

It's not a product. Its features match Origami World's, its versions don't iterate, and its reviews are generic praise. It took off because of three things that followers can rarely get on their own:

1. **Someone else already made the category hot.** Origami World used TikTok videos with millions of views and millions of installs to push the "origami" search term, and later clones ride search by stuffing titles with keywords (origami, papercraft, folding guide, relaxing game).

2. **A publisher's acquisition and monetization system.** An account matrix with over 100M installs knows which countries to buy in, how much to pay, and how to integrate ads so it pays back.

3. **Low-barrier small-country chart categories.** Art & Design × Poland and Italy: a few thousand installs a day gets you into the top ten.

### If it were you

**One-line verdict** : there's something to learn here, but don't build another origami clone. It's already a follower play, and more people are still launching. The real money went to the June first mover and to the publisher with an acquisition engine behind it.

**Who it suits** : small teams already running "European Android paid acquisition + ad monetization," with existing ad and monetization accounts. For them, the lesson is product selection cadence, not origami itself.

**Who it doesn't suit** : indie developers with no acquisition experience or budget who want to start from one app's organic traffic. In this category, installs are bought, there are a dozen identical clones, nothing differentiates you, and you'd be competing on CPI against a group of Vietnamese studios.

**How to do it** (if you really want to touch this theme):

1. Don't make the fifteenth Android clone. New iOS launches are still almost all in single-digit ratings, and Origami World's iOS version has only 16 ratings. That's an open gap, but iOS acquisition is more expensive, so do the math first.

2. Learn from the first mover, not from Origami Joy: Origami World's own TikTok account got 6.97M views on a single video, with content like "paper toys that move when you pinch them" and "paper claws for Halloween", things understandable within 15 seconds that make people want to try them immediately. Follow holidays and popular shows (Stranger Things, Naruto) for topics. The part really worth copying is this content-driven acquisition.

3. Take the method: watch the category charts for unexpected hobby-type apps that aren't AI (origami, AR tracing, DJ, battery-face), enter within 1 to 2 months after the first mover takes off, and you can still get hundreds of thousands of installs. Any later and you get what this is now.

**How to acquire users** : buy cost-per-install Google App campaigns in cheap European Android markets, paired with store keywords and small-country chart categories. If you can, build a content account yourself; handcraft and paper-toy videos can easily take off on TikTok.

**When it was too late** : the origami wave passed its best entry window. The first mover took off in July, and the followers finished launching from July to late September. The pre-Christmas holiday theme is probably the last momentum left to ride (inference).

**What would show you read it wrong** : if the follower accounts like Origami Joy and SHINK keep rising steadily by tens of thousands a week past December, start updating versions and reach Top Grossing, then ads pay back better than they look and late entrants can earn for the long run. Conversely, if they stop one by one in 11 or December and stop updating, that confirms this was an arbitrage wave that dies once everyone's piled in.

Competitors

| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from this one |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Origami World: Learn & Play(Neli Creative) | Android | 2026-06-29 (already had installs by late May) | 5M installs, +7k in the last 290 days; #4 on Poland's Art & Design chart; iOS version too | The category pioneer, the same "learn origami + play origami" template at 30× the scale, with a TikTok traffic account. Origami Joy is just the same product with new copy. |
| Origami Fold & Paper Craft(SHINK COMPANY) | Android | 2026-08-18 | 603k installs, +7k in the last 83 days | Another account in the lutech.vn publishing system, launched a month earlier, 3.6× the scale, nearly identical |
| Origami Tutorial: Learn & Play(Shin Keuk) | Android | 2026-07-29 | 554k installs | Same template, name copied from Origami World |
| Simple Origami / Origami Guide / Origami: Learn Paper Folding and others | Android | 2026-07~08 | 33–410k installs each | Earlier followers of the same template |
| Origami Paper Art - Diagram(GeniusTools Labs) | Android | 2018-10 | 2.09M installs | Established pure-diagram app, no mini-game mode |
| Paper Fold(Azur Games) | Android | 2021-03 | 156M installs | Pure origami-puzzle casual game, doesn't teach real folding |
| Origami - Fold & Learn / Origami Master / Origame(Ketchapp) | iOS | 2017–2019 | Ratings 1.2k / 2k / 84k | iOS veteran; Origami Joy has no iOS version |

Where users come from

- Inference **Paid acquisition (presumed Google App campaigns)** : silent for a month after launch, then 10-12 a sudden spike, followed by stepped growth; leads in 25 countries and cheap European Android markets. The same shape appears in the same developer's DJ Mixer. No hits in the Meta, Google, or TikTok ad libraries.

- **Confirmed** **Store search + chart exposure** : package name and title stuffed with origami/papercraft/folding guide/relaxing game; #8 on Poland's Art & Design chart needs only about 8.6k new installs a day globally.

- Inference **TikTok content (category level)** : @origami.world217 posted a batch of "Download this app" origami videos in 10-21, the top one at 980k views, but driving traffic to Origami World. Nothing found for Origami Joy itself.

- Inference **Incentivized/fake reviews** : the top of the page shows short praise from two Indian-named accounts, 10-11 and 10-16, and the rating histogram [0,64,0,64,320] is unnatural.

## Why Origami Joy: Fold Paper & Play (TOMODEV JSC) got traction

> Channel: Google Play | Package com.origami.papercraft.foldingguide.relaxinggame | Launched 2026-09-17 | Research day 2026-11-06

### Bottom line

It's not a category it created. It's a **Vietnamese app factory following a proven category** : Neli Creative's "Origami World: Learn & Play" went from 2026-06 to nearly 5M installs on Play with the "origami tutorial + 3D origami mini-game" template, and over the next two months at least a dozen same-named, same-template apps appeared. Origami Joy is one of them, run by TOMODEV in Da Nang, with ad monetization under Lutech (lutech.vn). It reached #8 on Poland's Art & Design chart mainly because the category has a low barrier in small countries (about 8 thousand new global installs a day is enough), plus likely Google App paid acquisition. The product itself has no real differentiation from its peers.

### 1. Data

- Installs (Google Play library app_day / app_profile, 2026-11-06): cumulative **166,420** , +7 in the last 60,044 days (about 8.6k/day); ratings count 639, rating 4.56 (store page shows 4.6; mobile shows 4.4 / 532 reviews).

- Curve since launch (Google Play library app_day_ext, AppstoreSpy estimate): 9-17 was nearly zero for about a month after launch (only 10-09 cumulative by 254), then **a sudden breakout on 10-12** (about 3.4k/day), a single-day peak near 10-21k on 30, 10-29 cumulative 106k; after that, a jump every 1–2 days (11-01 +26.7k, 11-03 +22.3k, 11-05 +6.1k, 11-06 +4.8k), and it's slowing. This shape (a month of silence, then a sudden opening on one day) is typical of paid acquisition being switched on. It doesn't look like a content hit, which usually has a single-day spike that falls away rather than sustained steps.

- Chart (googleplay chart_rank): Art & Design, Top Free. Poland 24 → 8 (10-29 to 11-04), Italy 39 → 26, France 37, Germany 44, US 86 → 118 (falling off). Charted in 25 countries. Same day, Poland chart: #4 Origami World +290k in a week, #8 Origami Joy +60k in a week. **The bar to reach the top 10 of this category in Poland is low** , so the chart rank looks much bigger than the real scale.

- Monetization: ads + in-app purchases, $2.99–$39.99 (app_snap). No charted position on any store's Top Grossing. No public revenue data; likely ad-driven (AdMob-type). The developer website field is `https://lutech.vn/app-ads.txt`, i.e. an ads authorization file.

- Version: still 1.0.2 (untouched since the 2026-09-25 update), so it is a template product that gets shipped and then run on paid traffic, with no iteration.

- Reviews: the top reviews on the store page are from Indian-sounding names, 10-11 and 10-16, short praise like "nice app for crafting with paper and games also" and "Origami is useful for childrens". Timing lines up with the start of the surge, which looks like early fake reviews or cheap Indian traffic. Our database has no review samples for it (0 rows in the review table), so **unverified** . The rating histogram [1–5 stars] was [0,64,0,64,320] on 10-29, and only on 11-05 did 34 one-star reviews appear. The distribution is unnatural, which can be read as a weak signal of review solicitation.

### 2. Competitors: the same template, the "origami wave"

Apps with origami in the name in the googleplay library (2026-11-06):

| App | Developer | Launched | Installs | past 7 days | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Origami World: Learn & Play | Neli Creative (Vietnam) | 2026-06-29 (AppstoreSpy already shows about 3.5k at end of May) | 4,997,854 | +290k | **Category pioneer** ; from late July, 10–200k per day. #4 in Poland's Art & Design chart, #9 in Italy. Also has an iOS version (listed as id6801474723,2026-08-28; only 16 ratings in the US store). |
| Origami Fold & Paper Craft | SHINK COMPANY | 2026-08-18 | 603,356 | +83k | **Also sets its developer website to lutech.vn/app-ads.txt** , same distribution and monetization setup as TOMODEV. 10-03 and 10-08 each had single-day jumps of 3–80k. |
| Origami Tutorial: Learn & Play | Shin Keuk | 2026-07-29 | 554,185 | +38k | Name nearly copied from Origami World |
| Simple Origami: Paper Folding | Mixify Studio | 2026-07-30 | 408,979 | — | |
| Origami Guide: Learn & Fold | Hong Kong Lux Limo Service Limited | 2026-08-24 | 358,986 | +18k | Developer name is a borrowed shell |
| Origami: Learn Paper Folding | Collectible Home Foundation | 2026-08-26 | 326,739 | +41k | |
| **Origami Joy: Fold Paper & Play** | **TOMODEV JSC** | **2026-09-17** | **166,420** | **+60k** | Subject of this article |
| Origami: Paper Fold & Craft | VISUALFLOW LAB | 2026-09-25 | 114,332 | +15k | |
| Origami AR / Origami Art / Origami Master / Origami Play, etc. | several | 2026-08~10 | 8k–36k | | New ones keep appearing (10-12, 10-18 listed) |
| Origami Paper Art - Diagram | GeniusTools Labs | 2018-10 | 2,090,338 | +24k | Long-running diagram/tutorial apps |
| Origami: paper crafts | SkyWave | 2022-08 | 840,723 | +6k | Long-established |
| Paper Fold (game) | Azur Games | 2021-03 | 156M | +150k | Pure paper-folding puzzle hyper-casual, a different genre |

iOS (iTunes search "origami", US store): the old guard is Origami - Fold & Learn (2017,1,209 ratings), Origami Master (2019,2,033), and Ketchapp's Origame (202M). The new entries from 2026 are all from Vietnamese individual developer accounts (Nam Dang Hoang, Phuc Pham, Hai Nguyen Minh, Dang Nam Nguyen…), with ratings from single digits to a few dozen. TOMODEV's Origami Joy was **not found** on iOS.

There's also a separate "origami" trend that isn't related: on TikTok, 2026-10 folding-screen origami simulators for phones like the iPhone Duo and Galaxy Fold (Kami, Hingami) are a different thing from these tutorial apps.

**Conclusion: this genre existed 2026 years earlier (GeniusTools, SkyWave). 2026-06 Origami World packaged it as "tutorial + mini-game" and pushed it to several million. Over the next two or three months, Vietnamese studios copied it in bulk. Origami Joy is a later entrant in the second tier.**

### 3. Where users come from

- **Paid acquisition (likely, no creatives seen directly)** : the curve is "quiet for a month, then one day it turns on, followed by step-by-step growth." Installs lead in 25 countries, with Europe (Poland, Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden) on top. This is what Google App ads look like when run on cheap European Android storefronts with CPI bidding. The same developer's DJ Mixer (listed 9-04, +71k in a week, #3 in Poland's Music chart) and Control Center (+32k in a week) follow the same playbook.
    - Our Meta ad library, Google ad library (watchlist-based), and TikTok Europe ad library have **no** TOMODEV / Origami Joy / any origami advertiser. The Meta library only discovers through about 60 tool-related keywords, and the Google library only checks a watchlist, so no result does not mean no spend. **Unverified** .

- **Store search** : package name and title stuffed with keywords (origami, papercraft, folding guide, relaxing game; subtitle "Step-by-step origami guides, paper craft diagrams, 3D folding puzzles"). The search term "origami" was already heated up by Origami World's volume, so new entrants pick up some organic traffic by riding those keywords, and the chart position itself brings browsing traffic.

- **TikTok content** : at the category level, yes. The account @origami.world217 posted a batch of paper-folding videos in 10-21 saying "Download this app to explore more idea!", with peak single videos at 980k views, 530k and 300k (TikHub search: origami app). It looks like a traffic account for Origami World. Another account, @hlpqspc8sx, posted numbered creatives reading "V2910_x Create & Explore Origami World" (looks like ad creative testing). **No TikTok content found for Origami Joy itself** .

- X (x-radar: "origami app" search, 0 posts in the last 60 days), Reddit, media: no discussion of Origami Joy anywhere. The only web pages found are auto-generated listing pages from download sites APKPure, Softonic, AppBrain, and CNET.

- Celebrity endorsements, platform events, user migration: no evidence.

### 4. Where the money comes from

Ads (banner/interstitial/rewarded video, authorized via Lutech's app-ads.txt) plus in-app purchases (remove ads / coins, $2.99–$39.99). No Top Grossing position, so IAP volume is probably small. The model is the standard Vietnamese app-farm math: CPI is low in cheap European Android markets, users of a "relaxing mini-game + collect coins" app watch plenty of interstitials and rewarded videos, and as long as ARPU covers CPI, spending continues. The description lines "Collect Coins & Expand Your World" and "unlock seasonal festive themes" leave room for rewarded video. Being close to Christmas, "holiday ornaments / festive decorations" also sets up for Q4, when ad prices are high.

### 5. Who's behind it

- TOMODEV TECHNOLOGY JOINT STOCK COMPANY, Da Nang, Vietnam (72–74 Le Dai Hanh). Its website tomodev.vn describes IT outsourcing (it also takes outsourcing gigs on Japan's Lancers). Its Play account has 7 apps (googleplay library, developer): Control Center themes 510k, AI video 410k, DJ Mixer 190k, Origami Joy 170k, two fitness apps, one AI image app, about 1.33M installs in total, all launched after 2025-06, most after 2026-08. **A classic "watch the charts, follow the category" matrix** .

- The developer website field = lutech.vn/app-ads.txt. Developer accounts in the googleplay library using this URL include BG.Studio (34.9M), TextSoft.Studio (30.2M), ZAppsolution (29.9M), Tools for Everyday, SHINK COMPANY, JoyNest Studio, TNGlobalSolution, TOMODEV, and 10 in total, adding up to hundreds of millions of installs. Lutech Digital (Da Nang; LinkedIn self-description: "invest in and develop mobile applications & games… App – Game – Ecom – Publishing") is the shared **investor / publisher / monetization party** behind these accounts. In other words, the same publishing system ran origami through two accounts, SHINK COMPANY (600k) and TOMODEV (170k), as deliberate multi-account coverage.

### 6. Differentiation

The features listed in the description (Spec Cards for paper size and thickness, Yoshizawa-Randlett standard symbol diagrams, video clips, origami plus paper cutting, virtual folding mini-games, filter by time/difficulty, photo saving to a portfolio, coins to unlock festive themes) follow the same "learn + play" dual-mode template as Origami World's "Learn how to fold step by step or play with paper inside ready-made shapes". Only the copy is different. There have been no version iterations, and the top reviews are generic praise. **There is no noticeable differentiation, and differentiation is not why it took off** . It took off because the category was already validated, the publisher had a paid-acquisition and monetization system, and the bar to enter the small category charts was low.

### 7. Visibility and copycats

- Visibility: **few people know about it yet** . No public revenue, no media or X discussion; the only things visible are auto-generated download-site pages. But the origami app **category** has clearly spread through Vietnamese developer circles. It is itself one of the copycats.

- Copycats: Origami: Paper Fold & Craft (VISUALFLOW LAB, 9-25), Origami: Learn Paper Folding (Leilani Rogers, 10-12), and Origami Play: Learn & Fold (Shark Studio, 10-18) launched at the same time or later. On iOS, Easy Origami (10-28) and others. New entries keep appearing as of October.

### 8. What others can borrow

1. **The rhythm of riding the chart and the category** : Origami World took off in late July, and copycats launched from late July through September. Entering 1–2 months late still yielded hundreds of thousands of installs. Monitoring "non-AI, niche-interest apps that suddenly appear in category charts" (origami, AR tracing, DJ, emoji batteries) is a repeatable product-selection method.

2. **Pick categories and countries where chart entry is cheap** : in Art & Design in Poland and Italy, a few thousand to ten thousand installs a day gets you into the top 10, and chart exposure then brings organic installs.

3. **A "real hobby + on-screen relaxing mini-game" dual-mode package** : it gives a utility-type app room for interstitials and rewarded video, so ads can pay back the cost of acquisition.

4. The same publisher runs several developer accounts in one category, spreading the risk of takedowns and ratings drops.

### 9. Uncertain

- Whether it is spending, on which platforms, and how much: none of the three ad libraries returned results. The paid-acquisition judgment comes from the curve shape and country distribution. **Unverified** .

- Revenue: no Top Grossing position, no public data. Unknown whether ad ARPU covers CPI (growth noticeably slowed after 11-05, possibly a sign they are cutting spend).

- Whether the early Indian praise and the odd rating histogram are fake reviews: unverified.

- The exact relationship between TOMODEV and Lutech (publishing, investment, or just a shared ad aggregator) is inferred only from the app-ads.txt URL and LinkedIn self-description.
