Two months before the old app was pulled, the new shell was already waiting in the stores: how an "unrestricted" AI video app moved house
What it is An AI video app rated Mature 17+ (partial nudity allowed) that turns typed prompts or uploaded photos into short videos. It charges through points and annual subscriptions.
Why it took off Its sister app XPhoto was pulled from Google Play. The company had already put two new shells, Orvani and Nuvori, under a new entity. It then told users inside the old app that points would carry over if they moved. Japanese users who had been paying for the old app were willing to pay again, and the tools chart has a low bar, so it shot up the rankings.
DHow you could follow Don't follow this category. The method is what's worth borrowing: keep a stand-in app ready for apps at risk of removal, tie points and subscriptions to accounts, and watch the low bar on Japan's tools Top Grossing chart.

Sep 29, a US user left a one-star review on Google Play for Orvani. The old app, XPhoto, was sending notifications saying that if you downloaded this new app, your subscription would come back, and it could do everything the old one could. He installed it, paid a 35-dollar annual fee, and got an error instead: NSFW content not allowed. "I want a refund." The review got 12 likes. Two weeks later, on Oct 12, XPhoto disappeared from Google Play. Orvani had 27k installs today and ranked #13 in the Japan Google Play Tools Top Grossing chart, ahead of Avast. It wasn't a new product built from scratch. It was a stand-in a company had prepared for its old app in advance. Below: how it moved house, where the money comes from, and why almost no one else can copy this play.
What it is
Orvani: AI Video Generator Type a prompt or upload a photo to generate a few seconds of AI video. The store description is bland: social content, product videos, bringing old photos to life. The real selling point is in the rating: Mature 17+, "Sexual Themes, Partial Nudity" (Google Play US store page, 11-06). Most mainstream AI video apps are rated for everyone.
Pricing is by points. Point packs run from $3.99 to $79.99, with an annual subscription (reviewers mention $35), and daily login rewards. According to reviews, a 4-second video costs 15 points, the longest clips reach 12 to 13 seconds, and sound is included.
The developer is InkVibe Labs, under INKVIBE PTE. LTD. in Singapore, listed 2026 Aug 18. The next day, the same company listed an almost identical app, Nuvori: AI Video Generator.
This "new company" is an old face
The support email on Orvani's store page is [email protected], and the privacy policy is hosted at image.artvibe.info. yes366.com is the domain of ArtVibe Labs, which also makes ETM: AI Image Generator (3.1M installs) and XPhoto: AI Video Generator. Its site etm.yes366.com/xpo.html links to both XPhoto's iOS and Google Play listings.
XPhoto was listed in March 2025, with about 700k installs and 32k ratings, also rated Mature 17+. On the adult-content forum LPSG, someone recommended it in September 2025: "Try xphoto. Allows full nudity. Free to try," and it could be downloaded straight from the Play Store. An earlier generation was called XMagic. In Sep 9, an Orvani review said "it was better as xmagic." XPhoto shipped one more update in late September, adding new subscription tiers and daily login rewards. It was removed from Google Play in Oct 12 (per AppBrain; AppAgg records Oct 16). By Nov 6, the iOS versions of XPhoto and XMagic could no longer be found in the US, Japan, UK, or German stores.
Google never publicly gave a reason for the removal. Whether it was adult-content policy can only be inferred.
How users were moved over
Reviews from the Google Play US and Japan stores piece the process together in order:
| Date | Review quotes |
|---|---|
| 08-28 | "I used to have a subscription with xphoto, how can I move my account?" |
| 08-28 | "The ad said, you won't lose point etc. Untrue... Bring back the original app." (18 likes) |
| 09-29 | "download this new one to regain subscription... paid my $35 for the yearly membership" |
| 10-16 | "I uninstalled X-photo for this new app and my currency went from 114 to 48" |
| 10-28 | "ほぼ強制で引き継ぎなしでこのアプリ案内された" (I was almost forced to this app, with no transfer) |
| 11-03 | "Had XPhoto, then suddenly I couldn't use it. I was forced to install Orvani" |
The playbook is clear. When the old app looks likely to get into trouble, switch to a different company entity and new package name, move the category from "personalization" to "tools," and launch two shells. Inside the old app, post a notice telling paying users to move over, with points and subscriptions intact. Once the old app is actually removed, the remaining users have nowhere else to go, so they come over. Nuvori's update notes say "Your account and points now survive a reinstall," showing they're also building account and points continuity.
The move was rough, though. Points didn't transfer, the new app tightened its rules at first, and the create button was blocked by the system navigation bar. Most negative reviews come from these problems. One Japanese review put it bluntly: "XPhoto was the same, it never answered reviews. This app will probably also suddenly move house one day without notice, or vanish from the store."
Why it's still climbing
Installs rose from 29 in Oct 17,712 to 26,947 in Nov 6, adding over 9,235 in about a week. Ratings went from 863 to 1,209 over the same period, roughly 30 to 40 more a day (Google Play installs and ratings, 11-06). XPhoto was pulled almost a month ago and it's still growing. Three things explain it:
First, the demand is real and getting scarcer. It sells "image-to-video with few restrictions." One reviewer said "Does what other apps refuse to do," and another wrote "GROK used to but they don't now." Big-platform features are tightening. In April 2026, Bloomberg reported that two app stores were still selling one-tap "undress" apps, and in July Apple was pressed to remove 8 of them (moneycontrol 2026-04-16, appleinsider 2026-07-17). The more of these apps get cleared, the more demand concentrates on the few with a Mature 17+ rating that are still in the store.
Second, it's cheap. A five-star review from Nov 3 said it "Doesn't censor, nice quality... just about the cheapest I've found for the quality you get."
Third, Japanese users will pay, and the tools chart has a low bar. Most Japanese reviews are from people who moved over from XPhoto. Above it on the tools Top Grossing chart sit antivirus and VPN apps, so an app with 27k installs can squeeze into #13. It ranks #50 in Germany and #70 in the US, and sits at #79–#80 in the Netherlands, Poland, Vietnam, UAE, and Singapore. Rankings this close together suggest a single aggregated chart rather than 11 separate country charts (inference).
On paid acquisition, Google's Ads Transparency Center shows INKVIBE running video install ads for its sister app Nuvori from Sep 6. 9 ran only in Japan, and from Oct 18 one creative expanded to 53 countries. I couldn't find creatives for Orvani itself, so I can't say whether it runs paid ads. On X, nobody has mentioned it in the past 90 days. Searching TikTok for "orvani" turns up only accounts with the same name selling shoes and glasses.
One more red flag: the rating count is about 4.5% of the install count, which is high for a tools app. Many reviews are one-word five-stars ("nice," "great," "cool"), which could mean reward-for-rating prompts or fake reviews (unverified). One-star reviewers also suspect it: "Anyone saying this app is good is either lying or a bot."
Who it's competing with
| Product | Scale | How it differs from Orvani |
|---|---|---|
| Nuvori (same company) | 14.8k installs, +5,396 in a week, #16 on Japan's tools chart | Same product, second store listing, running Google ads |
| PixVerse | 79.6M installs on Google Play, +520k in a week | Mass-market, strict review, growth through templates and social sharing |
| Nexus, Vidix, AI Video (HubX), and other template video apps | 12M–30M installs | Paid-acquisition-driven user growth, "everyone" rating |
| Grok Imagine, Meta Vibes, Gemini video | Hundreds of millions of users | Free and with stronger models, but their rules have tightened |
| Web generators like ourdream.ai | Not verified | Fully unrestricted, but not in app stores, so acquisition and payment both run through the web |
| PixMagic | 80k installs | Small players in the same niche with no existing users |
The product has no technical edge. The model isn't disclosed, and the most common complaints are that it ignores prompts, alters faces, and still deducts points when generation fails. It really has only two things: a store rating with looser review limits, and a group of existing users who paid in the old app and brought their money with them. It grew because of the second.
Where the money comes from
No revenue figures are public. What's known: it sells point packs and an annual subscription, with the top tier at $79.99. Ranking #13 on Japan's tools Top Grossing chart implies a fairly meaningful revenue stream (inference; the actual amount isn't visible). Most of the payers are XPhoto's former paying users, many of whom moved over specifically to recover money they'd already spent in the old app.
If it were you
Verdict: Worth knowing about, but don't follow it. This isn't evidence that "AI video apps make money." It's a case study in how a company with 700k existing users moved its paying customers before its app was pulled. You don't have that user base, and this category could be cleared again at any time.
Who it's for: Teams already in this gray-area category with live apps and paying users. For them, this stand-in-shell playbook is worth copying: a new entity, new package name, and a category change prepared in advance, with account and points migration handled properly inside the old app.
Who it's not for: Almost every indie developer. If you want to build an "unrestricted" AI video app from scratch on Google Play, getting a Mature 17+ rating is hard in itself. Even if you get it, the app could be pulled within months, and your developer account could be affected too. You'd also be competing for the same users as veterans like Nuvori and Orvani, who can run two shells on their own.
How to do it: What you can borrow is the method, not the category. First, if you're building anything at risk of delisting (adult, gambling, cleaners, VPNs), prepare a backup app and an account system in advance, and tie points and subscriptions to the account, not the package. Orvani's one-star reviews are almost all about points that didn't transfer. That's the cautionary tale. Second, the tools charts in Japan and some small countries have low entry bars: a few paying users can get you charted, and the chart itself is exposure. If you're building a legit utility, focus on Japanese paying users.
How it gets users: Its own new installs come almost entirely from the old app's migration, plus Google video install ads in Japan run by its sister shell. There's no social buzz. A newcomer can't copy the migration half, so only paid acquisition is left, and adult-oriented creatives struggle to pass mainstream ad platform review.
When was the window: There was no window. If you're already in this category, the backup shell needs to be built two months before the old app gets pulled. Orvani went live about 8 weeks ahead.
Where the call was wrong: ① As of 2027 March, Orvani and Nuvori were both still on Google Play. The migration had long since ended, and installs were still climbing by thousands a week. That means there's a stable slot in the store worth re-checking. ② After December, it stayed in the top 20 of Japan's tools Top Grossing, which means the people paying aren't just migrated old users. There's organic demand. ③ If a small team with no existing user base gets a similar app into the top 30 of Japan's tools Top Grossing, then the call that "you can't follow" was wrong.

Orvani: AI Video Generator (com.orvani.app) research report
Data as of 2026-11-06. Channel: Google Play. Developer InkVibe Labs (INKVIBE PTE. LTD., Singapore).
Bottom line
Orvani is not a new product that grew from scratch. It's an older company swapping shells to catch its old users. The same company (YES366 / ArtVibe Labs) previously ran the AI video app XPhoto: AI Video Generator (com.yes366.xphoto): 700k installs, 32k ratings, Mature 17+, known in NSFW circles for "can produce nudity". It was delisted from Google Play around 2026-10-12. In August 18–19, ahead of that, the company set up two shells under a new entity, InkVibe: Orvani and Nuvori. The old app told users to "move to the new app, your points and subscriptions aren't lost", which funneled paying users over. Japanese users pay well, and the TOOLS category has a low bar for charting, so 27k installs got it to #13 in Japan TOOLS Top Grossing.
1. Data (googleplay library, 2026-10-29 → 11-06)
- Cumulative global installs rose from 17,712 to 26,947,7 days +9,235 (about 1.0–1.3K a day). Ratings went from 863 to 1,209, gaining 30–57 a day.
- Ratings divided by installs come to about 4.5%, high for a tools app, and there are many one-word five-star reviews ("nice", "great", "cool"). This may mean incentivized ratings or fake reviews (unverified). One-star reviews also say "Either people saying this app is good are lying or they're bots".
- Top Grossing: #13 in Japan TOOLS Top Grossing (10-29 was #12), ahead of Avast and 削除メッセージ復元. #50 in Germany, #70 in the US. The Netherlands, Poland, Vietnam, UAE and Singapore all rank 79–80, likely the same aggregated chart, so it can't be counted as charting separately in 11 countries.
- Listed 2026-08-18, last updated 2026-09-29. In-app purchases $3.99–$79.99, selling credit packs, with an annual subscription too (reviews mention a $35 yearly fee). Daily login rewards give free credits.
- Store rating Mature 17+, "Sexual Themes, Partial Nudity" (Play US listing, 2026-11-06).
- Sister app from the same developer Nuvori: AI Video Generator (com.nurori.app): listed 2026-08-19, 14.8k installs, 7 days +5,396, #16 in Japan TOOLS Top Grossing. The two apps are the same product with two store listings.
2. Who's behind it: the successor to XPhoto
- Support email is [email protected], the privacy policy is hosted at image.artvibe.info, and the developer contact email is [email protected]. yes366.com is the domain for ETM: AI Image Generator (com.yes366.etm, ArtVibe Labs, 3.1M installs) and XPhoto (etm.yes366.com/xpo.html is the XPhoto website, which also links to iOS id6743109931 and Play com.yes366.xphoto).
- XPhoto (AppBrain / AppAgg): listed 2025-03-17, Personalization category, Mature 17+, about 700k installs, rating 4.4 (31,025–32,211 reviews). Last updated 2026-09-29/30, adding new subscription tiers and daily login rewards. Delisted from Google Play 2026-10-12 (AppBrain; AppAgg records 10-16). The iOS version of XPhoto and the earlier XMagic (id6468764522) can no longer be found in the US, Japan, UK or Germany stores (iTunes lookup, 2026-11-06).
- Evidence chain, user reviews (latest Orvani US and Japan reviews pulled with google-play-scraper, 2026-11-06):
- 08-28: "I used to have a subscription with xphoto, how can I move my account?"
- 08-28 (18 likes): "I lost my points from the 'old' application. The ad said, you won't lose point etc. ... Bring back the original app."
- 09-09: "it was better as xmagic" (the earlier generation was called XMagic)
- 09-30 (12 likes): "the new version of their app, detailed that you could download this new one to regain subscription ... paid my 35 for the yearly membership ... doesn't allow NSFW content anymore"
- 10-16: "I uninstalled X-photo for this new app and my currency went from 114 to 48"
- 11-03: "Had XPhoto, then suddenly I couldn't use it. I was forced to install Orvani ... Doesn't censor, nice quality, very reasonably priced credits"
- Japan store: "Migrated from xphoto..." "Was pretty much forced onto this app with no handover" "Like XPhoto, there's a good chance it gets pulled from the store"
- Conclusion: This is the full chain: the old app is at risk of delisting → a new entity puts up a shell in advance → the old app migrates users in-app → after the old app is delisted, the remaining users are forced to move. The sister app Nuvori's update notes say "Your account and points now survive a reinstall", showing they're building account and points continuity.
3. Why users come and why they pay
- The demand is for "less censored image-to-video". In an LPSG forum thread from 2025-09, someone recommends "Try xphoto. Allows full nudity. Free to try", saying it can be downloaded straight from the Play store and makes very realistic short videos (lpsg.com thread 15071941). Orvani's reviews say the same: "Does what other apps refuse to do", "Not many let you put the mouse in your pictures. GROK used to but they don't now", "meh. doesnt show penises properly".
- Timing: Big companies and top apps are tightening up. Grok no longer allows it (a user's words). In April 2026, Bloomberg reported both stores still selling nudify apps. In July, Apple was asked to remove 8 of them (moneycontrol 2026-04-16; appleinsider 2026-07-17). Earlier in the year a batch of "sexy AI" apps was cleared (vidgenerator.ai 2026-02-01). The more compliant players tighten up, the more demand concentrates on borderline "Mature 17+" apps like these.
- Price: One user called it "just about the cheapest I've found for the quality." Points are cheap, there's a daily login bonus, 4-second videos cost 15 points, max 12–13 seconds, with audio.
- Retention and payments run on sunk cost from old users: they already had subscriptions and points in XPhoto, so migrating is how they get that money back. The negative reviews also mostly center on points not transferring, a stricter new moderation policy, and buttons hidden behind the system nav bar.
4. Growth tactics (evidence found)
| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Old-user migration (in-app notice / push in the old app) | Several reviews say "ad said you won't lose points", "forced to install Orvani", "xphotoから移行"; XPhoto was pulled from 10-12 | Yes |
| Sock-puppet matrix (two shells + new entity) | New company INKVIBE PTE. LTD. connected Orvani and Nuvori, two apps with the same function, on August 18 and 19, both filed under TOOLS. The parent also runs ETM (3.1M), ArtVibe - AI Painting Master (500k+), and on iOS Winkio from ArtVibe Hong Kong (AI character chat, 17+, listed 2026-08-05) | Yes |
| Recategorized to TOOLS | XPhoto sits under Personalization; both new shells were moved to TOOLS. In the Japan TOOLS Top Grossing chart, #13 sits above antivirus and VPN apps, and an app with 27k installs can squeeze in | Yes (motive is inferred) |
| Google App ads | Google Ads library: INKVIBE PTE. LTD. (registered in HK) has run video install ads for Nuvori since 2026-09-06. From 9 to October it ran only in Japan, and from 10-18 one creative has been running in 53 countries. No creatives leading to Orvani were found. | Nuvori yes; Orvani unconfirmed |
| TikTok / Meta ads | tiktokads library: Orvani "unconfirmed", Nuvori "no_ads" (covers Europe only). No related Page in the metaads library | No |
| Content / community word of mouth | XPhoto spread by word of mouth on NSFW forums like LPSG; Orvani itself has no buzz on X (x-radar: 90 days, 0 posts) or TikTok (searching orvani returns only same-named accounts selling shoes and glasses) | Only XPhoto has it |
| Media / celebrities | None; only auto-generated pages on APK sites like CNET Download and APKPure | No |
5. Competitors
| Product | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from Orvani |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XPhoto (the same company's predecessor) | Android / iOS | 2025-03 | 700k installs, 32k ratings, 2026-10 pulled | It's the predecessor, and moderation was tightened later; Orvani is the takeover shell |
| Nuvori (same-company sibling) | Android | 2026-08-19 | 14.8k installs, #16 on the Japan TOOLS Top Grossing chart | Same feature set, second store listing, runs Google ads |
| PixVerse | Android / iOS | 2024-09 | Play 79.6M installs, +520k in 7 days | Leader, strict moderation, grows through templates and social sharing; Orvani sells "no limits" |
| Vidix / Nexus / AI Video (HubX) / 3D FlixAI and other template video apps | Android | 2024–2026 | 12M–30M installs, Nexus 7 days +1.85M | Template-driven mass-market players that run paid acquisition, aimed at everyone, Everyone-rated |
| DreamFace / Collart etc. | Android | 2023–2024 | 7.7M–11M | Some were cleared for skirting the line (vidgenerator.ai 2026-02) |
| Grok Imagine / Meta Vibes / Gemini video | Big-company features | 2025–2026 | 100M-scale | Free with stronger models, but tightened its limits (in users' words, "GROK used to") |
| ourdream.ai, Kalon and other web-based NSFW generators | Web | 2024–2026 | Not verified | No limits, but not on app stores; payments and discovery run through the web |
| PixMagic(Dundun Studio) | Android | 2025-11 | 80k installs | Smaller players in the same category |
6. Differentiation, and whether that's why it took off
- The product itself has no technical edge: text-to-video and image-to-video, with undisclosed models. Users complain about face swaps, ignored prompts, and failed generations that still cost points.
- The real differences are two: it got a Mature 17+ "Partial Nudity" rating in the store, with looser review standards than mainstream apps; and it holds a batch of old users carried over from XPhoto who have already paid. It grew on the second point (resources + the migration play); the first is the reason those old users follow.
7. Visibility and copycats
- Few people know about it yet: no public revenue, no media or X discussion, nothing on TikTok. Its origins can only be traced through reviews and domain lookups.
- Copycats: none found from outside. The same company opened Nuvori as a twin app; that's a matrix, not copying.
8. What others can learn
- A "spare shell" play for high-risk categories: build up a stand-in app under a new entity, new package name, and new category, while migrating accounts and points from the old app so users can move over seamlessly on the day it's pulled. (This time the migration was poorly done, points didn't transfer, which is the cautionary lesson.)
- Small countries and Japan's TOOLS Top Grossing charts have low barriers; a small number of high-paying users can chart, and the chart exposure is incremental.
- But this play relies on skirting the line and could be pulled again at any time; for legit teams, what's worth borrowing is the migration and matrix methods, not this category.
9. Still unclear
- The specific reason XPhoto was pulled (NSFW policy or something else) hasn't been disclosed by Google.
- Whether Orvani runs its own paid acquisition: only Nuvori's creatives show in the Google ads library. Whether Orvani's growth comes from ongoing migration or other spend is unclear.
- Revenue scale: can only be inferred from its #13 spot on the Japan TOOLS Top Grossing chart that it has some revenue; no specific figures.
- Whether ratings are inflated: the rating ratio is high and there are many one-word five-star reviews, unverified.
