# 48 days to $1M, and the pinned comment just says "stop pretending": how an AI palm-reading app built its install count

**What it is** An Android entertainment app where you scan your palm for a reading, plus zodiac signs and compatibility. Free, ad-supported.

**Why it blew up** It rode the 2026 wave of AI palm-reading apps on Google Play in India and other emerging markets. A shell-company developer account with more than a dozen apps, launched over two months, bought installs in cheap regions (and probably inflated them too), pushing the install counters past a million.

**D** **How to respond** Don't copy it. If you want into fortune-telling, build the paid half it skipped: AI astrologer chat, compatibility reports, pay-per-reading. Treat it as a sample of fake demand, and when picking topics, check the rating distribution, review count, and rank trend first.

Grade D: the volume comes from paid acquisition budget and mass-produced clones. The product has nothing worth learning from or improving on, and the AI palm-reading niche is already packed with twenty-plus template studios. Followers can't get its traffic and can't find an open slot. Almost nobody knows about it yet

Palmistry AI: Mystic Guide is an Android app that reads your palm and also tells your star sign. It launched in Sep 18. By Nov 5 it had 1.03M installs on Google Play, up 480k in a single week. On paper it's a dark horse, but several things don't add up: installs keep climbing while its chart rank keeps falling; third-party download estimates are only a fraction of its reported number; and its reviews show no 2-star, 3-star, or 4-star ratings. Below, we break down how the number is built, what kind of developer is behind it, and what you should learn from it, and what you shouldn't.

### "A scammer made this just for money"

In Oct 17, a user named Rose ly gave it a 1-star review on Google Play: "This app is trash, don't install... a scammer made it just for money... too many ads." By Nov 6, that review had 803 helpful votes and sat at the top of the store page. The second is Ammar Saleem's "too much ads" from Oct 18 (138 helpful). The third is Khadija Akter's "lots of ads" from Oct 17 (69 people).

An app with a million installs, and the only written reviews visible on its store page all say the same thing.

### What it is

Open the camera, put your hand in the frame, and the app reads your three main lines: heart, head, and life. Enter your birth date, time, and place, and it produces a birth chart, daily horoscopes for all twelve signs, and a compatibility check between two signs. The store page lists support for English, Spanish, Hindi, Arabic, and more, with a line at the bottom reading "for entertainment only" (Google Play store page, 11-06).

Free, labeled "contains ads," no in-app purchases. Version 1.1, no updates since Oct 4. Its only revenue source is the ads shown when you get your results.

The features match more than twenty similar AI palm reading apps on Play, line for line. More direct evidence: the same developer has another app, Palm Reading AI – Hand Astro (com.hand.palm), with an identical store description. Even the opening line "Palmistry AI: Mystic Guide" was left unchanged. It updated in Oct 19 and shows "1+" installs (Google Play, 11-06). It looks like a backup package that can take over if the main one gets pulled (inference).

### Where the numbers don't add up

| Date | Total installs | Added that day | Score | 1★ / 2★ / 3★ / 4★ / 5★ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10-29 | 551,809 | – | 920 | 345 / 0 / 0 / 0 / 575 |
| 10-31 | 817,402 | +265,593 | 1,025 | 384 / 0 / 0 / 0 / 640 |
| 11-03 | 1,004,736 | +187,334 | 1,178 | 353 / 0 / 0 / 0 / 824 |
| 11-05 | 1,034,161 | +29,425 | 1,206 | 361 / 0 / 0 / 0 / 844 |

(Google Play installs and rating distribution, 10-29 to 11-05)

Three things look wrong:

**Installs rise in steps.** For several days nothing moves, then one day it jumps from 190k to 270k. Organic growth doesn't look like that.

**Rank is slipping, but installs are still climbing.** Its best rank was 10-29 on the India Lifestyle Top Free chart at #12, then it slid steadily; by 11-05 it was only on the India chart at #137, and it had dropped off every other store's chart. For comparison: Reva, #2 on the India Lifestyle chart at 10-31, gained 716K in a week, and it sits between #19 and #40 with 480K added in the same week too. The third-party AppGazers estimate, based on rank, puts its 10-07 to 11-06 downloads at 35K to 170K (80% confidence range), while the Play counter rose by more than 500K over the same period, several times higher (AppGazers estimate).

**Ratings sit at the extremes.** Over 8 days, 2-star, 3-star, and 4-star ratings stayed at 0,1,206, and ratings came with only a handful of written reviews. Real users don't rate this way. The most likely explanation: the 5-star ratings were bought or incentivized, and the 1-star ratings came from real users annoyed by the ads (inference).

Taken together, a large share of those 1.03M installs were low-quality incentivized installs bought in cheap regions, possibly faked (inference; the exact method is unverified).

### Who's behind it: a developer account that shipped a dozen-plus apps in two months

The developer is Radiant Retail LLC. The address on the Play store page is Pioneer Ave 1712 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a registered-agent address shared by many shell companies. The website radiantretailllc.us is a template "enterprise software outsourcing" page. It names a founder, "Vivian Webster," and claims "HIPAA/SOC2 Ready," but says nothing about these apps. The privacy policies for several apps sit on free Google Sites pages. Support emails are a mix of company domains and Gmail. This is a common pattern: a US LLC shell with an overseas team opening a Play developer account. Where the team actually is hasn't been verified.

This developer account only began publishing apps in 2026 August. By November it had 13 to 18 apps (AppBrain counts 13, AppGazers counts 18). The topics have nothing in common: the prank sound app TrollTunes (2.73M installs, listed 08-17), two PDF scanners (2.81M and 1.94M), palm reading, two tarot apps, app lock, resume builder, speaker water ejection, a millionaire quiz, and a ghost radar. For the four apps with visible numbers, installs jump in steps on the same days 10-31 and 11-03, and ratings are polarized at both ends (Google Play, 10-29 to 11-05).

So this isn't "a palm reading team built a hit." It's an account that mass-ships templates and rides whatever trend is hot, here palm reading, while betting on several packages at once.

### Where users come from and where the money comes from

**The trend is real.** In 2026, AI palm reading was a genuine wave on Google Play: 10-31 In India's Lifestyle free chart, 4 of the top 30 were palm reading apps. HoangSi's Palmistry - AI Palm Reader launched in July and reached 13.7M installs. Kienmaly Mobi's AI Palm Reading launched in Oct 12, added 1.57M in one week, and reached #3 on the UAE Lifestyle chart (Google Play, 11-05).

**The volume is bought.** Its chart appearances cluster in India, Nigeria, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. These are all places where an install costs a few cents. I found no TikTok or X posts promoting it and no press coverage.

**The money is ads.** There are no in-app purchases. AppGazers estimates its in-app revenue at under $5,000. The business is simple arithmetic: the cost of installs in cheap regions versus how many ads each user will see before leaving. Pushing a developer account or app to "1M+" and then selling it is another common exit for accounts like this (unverified).

### Who it's competing with

| App | Developer | Launched | Total installs | How it makes money |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Life Palmistry | Bluewolf | 2020 | 23M | Subscription, has charted Top Grossing |
| Palmistry - AI Palm Reader | HoangSi | 07-08 | 13.7M | Ad template |
| Palmee | Essa Studio | 2016 | 12.7M | Paid, #27 on India Lifestyle Top Grossing |
| AI Palm Reading | Kienmaly Mobi | 10-12 | 2.89M | Ad template, +1.57M in a week |
| **Palmistry AI: Mystic Guide** | Radiant Retail | 09-18 | **1.03M** | Ad-only |
| Palm Reading: AI Palmistry | Lutech Studio | 08-28 | 535k | Ads plus a few in-app purchases, 17.6k ratings |

(Google Play, 11-05. Separately, Astrotalk, AstroSage, and similar live or AI astrologer apps draw tens of millions of users in India, and ChatGPT and Gemini will read your palm from a photo for free.)

In this table, it has the weakest volume, the most fake-looking ratings, and the thinnest product. The apps actually earning money here are the established Life Palmistry and Palmee, plus Astrotalk, which sells live consultations. They make money through subscriptions and consultations, not ad templates.

### If it were you

**D: understand it, don't follow it.** Its volume comes from a paid acquisition budget and a template-shipping developer account. The product has nothing worth copying or improving on. And AI palm reading on Google Play is already saturated with two dozen template studios.

**Who it suits:** Nobody should copy it. The people who can take something from it are those hunting for topics on Play, using it as a sample of fake demand.

**Not for:** indie devs who see "48 days to $1M" and want to clone a palm-reading app; anyone without cheap paid acquisition channels or who won't touch grey-market installs (you won't get its volume, and volume is the only thing it has).

**How to do it:** If you still want into the fortune-telling category, skip the ad template and build the half it skipped, the part that makes money: AI astrologer chat, compatibility reports, and pay-per-read detailed interpretations. Learn from how Palmee, Life Palmistry, and Astrotalk charge, not from this app's install curve. When screening topics, spend five minutes on three things: whether the rating distribution sits only at the extremes, how far written reviews lag behind the rating count, and whether rank and installs move in the same direction. If all three look wrong, treat the app as if it never grew.

**How to get users:** For a paid version, start with Google Play search, plus local short-form TikTok tutorials on "getting AI to read your palm." The pitch: "the AI tells you more than the free version and lets you ask follow-ups," which pulls people out of the free templates.

**When to get in:** There's no window to race for. The palm reading wave ran from July to November, template studios have already filled the space, and new packages were still shipping in October.

**Signs you misread it:** ① Within 30 days its installs keep climbing steadily, its rank recovers, and reviews start showing 2 to 4 stars. That means there are real users in there, so this call was too pessimistic. ② It adds in-app purchases or a subscription and charts in any country's Top Grossing. That means the account is turning volume into real business. ③ Other pure ad-driven App Store apps publicly report ad revenue that covers paid acquisition costs. That means this arbitrage business is bigger than it looks, and the template play still pays. The reverse holds too: if it and several sister apps get pulled or stall within a month or two, that confirms it was a one-off volume push.

Where users come from

- Inferred **Paid acquisition, incentivized installs, or install inflation in cheap markets like India, Nigeria, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East** : installs jump in steps of 19–270k every 2–3 days, and the same developer's 4 apps jump on the same day. Rankings then slide. AppGazers estimates 35k–170k downloads over 30 days, several times the counter. The charts it reached cluster in in, ng, vn, th, ph, ae, and sa.

- Inference **Fake or incentivized ratings** : 1,206 ratings sit only at 1 and 5 stars (2–4 stars stay at 0), with only 3 written reviews (app_snap.histogram).

- **Verified** **A developer account mass-ships apps** : Radiant Retail LLC published 13–18 apps starting in 2026-08, including com.hand.palm (same description) and two tarot apps in the same topic space. The website is an empty template (Play developer page, AppBrain, AppGazers).

- Inferred **Store search riding the category wave** : 2026-10-31 India Lifestyle Top Free chart has 30 AI palm-reading apps in the top 4 (chart_rank)

- Inferred **TikTok / X / media** : TikHub, x-radar, and Jina search found no content promoting this app

## Why Palmistry AI: Mystic Guide (com.palmistry.ai) charted

> Channel: Google Play | Developer: Radiant Retail LLC | Store launch 2026-09-18 | Research date 2026-11-06

### Bottom line

**This isn't a product that broke out. It's installs from a developer account that mass-produces template apps, riding the AI palm-reading wave.** Radiant Retail LLC is a US LLC with an empty shell website. Starting 2026-08, over two months it published 13–18 unrelated tool and entertainment apps (PDF scanning, prank sounds, ghost radar, speaker cleaning, palm reading, tarot…). We track 4 of its apps, and their install curves follow the same template: a step jump of 19–270k every 2–3 days. Ratings sit at 1 and 5 stars, the version hasn't been updated in over a month, and monetization is ads only. Three things don't add up: installs climb fast while chart rank keeps falling; third-party models estimate a fraction of the downloads; and the rating distribution is abnormal. So most of these 1.03M installs are likely **bought low-quality or incentivized installs, possibly fake** (this is an inference, not verified). It has no differentiation, and differentiation isn't why it grew.

### 1. Data (our googleplay library, 2026-10-29 ~ 11-05)

| Date | Installs (cumulative, global) | Added that day | Score | Rating distribution [1★…5★] |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10-29 | 551,809 | – | 920 | [345,0,0,0,575] |
| 10-31 | 817,402 | +265,593 | 1,025 | [384,0,0,0,640] |
| 11-03 | 1,004,736 | +187,334 | 1,178 | [353,0,0,0,824] |
| 11-05 | 1,034,161 | +29,425 | 1,206 | [361,0,0,0,844] |

- 7 days of 482k new installs, passing 1M within 48 days of launch. Free, labeled 'contains ads', no in-app purchases; no updates since version 1.1 at 2026-10-04 (app_snap).

- **Only 3 ratings have written reviews, yet there are 1,206 ratings in total; 2–4 stars stay at 0** (app_snap.histogram, unchanged for 8 days). Real users don't produce this distribution. It looks like 5-star ratings were bought, plus some 1-star ratings from real users.

- **The chart ranks and install counts don't line up** : its best rank was #12 on India's Lifestyle Top Free chart on 10-29, then it kept sliding. By 11-05 it was only #137 in India, and it had dropped off the charts everywhere else (chart_rank). On 10-31, while it sat at #2 on India's Lifestyle chart, Reva added 716k in 7 days. It ranked somewhere between #19 and #40, yet installs still jumped by 482k over 7 days. The rank fell, but installs kept stepping up anyway.

- AppGazers' rank-based model estimates 10-07~11-06 downloads, **34.6k–170k** (80% interval), with in-app purchase revenue under $5K ([appgazers](https://appgazers.com/reports/apps/android-com.palmistry.ai)). The Play counter over the same period rose by more than about 500k. The two differ by several times.

### 2. Developer: a team that mass-produces apps

- We track 4 of this developer's apps, totaling 8.51M installs (developer table), all launched after 2026-08-17:
    - TrollTunes: Prank Sounds, 2.73M, 08-17
    - Document Scanner PDF Creator, 2.81M, 08-28
    - PDF scanner Document Scanner, 1.94M, 09-11
    - Palmistry AI, 1.03M, 09-18 All four apps' installs jumped on the same days (10-31, 11-03), and their rating distributions are likewise limited to 1 and 5 stars (PDF scanner is [318,318,0,0,1272]).

- The Play developer page ([play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=9094401666825913028](https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=9094401666825913028)) also lists: Tarot Reader, Tarot Card - Astrology AI, **Palm Reading AI – Hand Astro (com.hand.palm, description word-for-word identical to this app)** , AppLock, AI Resume Builder, Speaker Cleaner, Millionaire-IQ Quiz, TuneTrolls (a copy of TrollTunes), and more. AppBrain says it has 13 apps with about 9M installs total; AppGazers counts 18, including Emotes Player Skin, Ghost Detector, and AI Photo Enhancer ([appgazers developer page](https://appgazers.com/reports/developers/android-9094401666825913028)).

- The website radiantretailllc.us is a template 'enterprise software outsourcing' page: founder 'Vivian Webster', address Inglewood, CA, claims 'HIPAA/SOC2 Ready', and never mentions these apps. The support emails for several apps are ittechnology120@gmail.com, documentsscanner@gmail.com, and docu@pdf.com, and privacy policies are hosted on sites.google.com (app table). This is a common setup: a US LLC shell with an overseas team opening a Play developer account. The team's actual country is **unverified** .

### 3. Where users came from (growth tactics)

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Paid acquisition / incentivized / fake installs, concentrated in cheap regions like India, Nigeria, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East | Charted mainly in in, ng, vn, th, sg, ph, ae, sa; installs jump in steps while rank falls; third-party estimates differ by several times; the same developer's 4 apps jump in sync on the same days | Inferred, not confirmed |
| Store search riding the category wave | In 2026, 'AI palm reading' was a Play trend: HoangSi's Palmistry - AI Palm Reader (launched 07-08, 13.7M installs) and Kienmaly Mobi's AI Palm Reading (launched 10-12, up 1.57M in 7 days) both crowded the top 30 of India Lifestyle | Category demand confirmed; how much traffic it got from search is unverified |
| Sibling-app matrix | The same developer account also has com.hand.palm (identical description) and two tarot apps, so the same theme is bet on several packages | Portfolio confirmed; traffic per package unverified |
| Incentivized reviews / rating fraud | Only 1-star and 5-star ratings, with 1,206 ratings carrying just 3 written reviews | Strong suspicion |
| TikTok / X / media / creators | TikHub search for 'palmistry ai app' returned only other apps and palm-reading creator accounts; x-radar had 30 posts in the last 0 days; no media coverage found | Nothing found |
| Google / Meta / TikTok ad libraries | This developer isn't on our tracking list, and none of the three libraries returns a match | No results doesn't mean no ads were run |

How the money comes back: the app is free, ad-supported, with no in-app purchases, so it earns only from interstitial and banner ads (likely AdMob). The model is arbitrage: installs from cheap regions × ad eCPM. Another exit is selling a developer account or app after it reaches 1M+ (**unverified** ).

### 4. Competitors

| Competitors | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Palmistry - AI Palm Reader(HoangSi) | Android | 2026-07-08 | 13.7M installs, +248k in 7 days | A similar Vietnamese ad-template app from two months earlier got about ten times the volume |
| AI Palm Reading(Kienmaly Mobi) | Android | 2026-10-12 | 2.89M, +1.57M in 7 days, #3 on UAE Lifestyle | Later, pushed harder, and actually charted |
| Astrology: Palm Reader & Tarot(Kienmaly Mobi) | Android | 2026-10-12 | 585k, +317k in 7 days | Same playbook |
| Life Palmistry(Bluewolf) | Android | 2020 | 23M installs, #77 on Hong Kong Lifestyle Top Grossing | Veteran, earns from subscriptions |
| Palmee(Essa Studio) | Android / iOS | 2016 | 12.7M, 140k ratings, #27 on India Lifestyle Top Grossing | Established, actually collecting money |
| Palm Reading: AI Palmistry(Lutech) | Android | 2026-08-28 | 535k, 17.6k ratings | More ratings, users look more real |
| Astrotalk, AstroSage, Reva AI, etc. | Android | Years / 2026 | Tens of millions to hundreds of millions | Human or AI astrologers that earn money, home turf in India |
| Astrology apps like Nebula and Hint | iOS / Android | Years | Big | Subscription-based, with palm reading as only one feature |
| ChatGPT / Gemini palm reading from a photo | Big-company features | 2024– | huge | Free and generic; people already teach it on TikTok |
| Older palm-reading apps on iOS (Touchzing, etc.) | iOS | 2012– | Ratings below 7,003 | The category is small on iOS |

Compared with these, this app has the same template feature set: three palm lines + zodiac + compatibility. It doesn't rank high, its ratings look fake, and it has no in-app purchases.

### 5. How many people have seen it

- No media coverage, no X discussion, no one showing revenue. The only results are auto-generated pages from Softonic, CNET Download, AppBrain, AppGazers, Similarweb, and chrome-stats.

- The 'AI palm reading' category on Play is already crowded with Vietnamese and Indian template studios, and October alone brought a string of new launches (VN Atomax's Palmora, Nuclear Man, PAO LABS, Jade-Core, mscmn2k…).

### 6. Why it could "run" at all

1. **Paid or fake installs inflated the counter** : installs jump in steps while rank falls, third-party estimates differ by several times, and the same developer's 4 apps jump together (googleplay library + AppGazers).

2. **Rode the category wave** : in 2026, AI palm reading on Play was popular in India and emerging markets, and 4 of the top 30 India Lifestyle apps were palm-reading apps (chart_rank 10-31).

3. **Portfolio flooding** : one developer account floods the store with 13–18 template apps, and it also makes extra packages on the same theme (com.hand.palm and two tarot apps).

4. **Ad monetization as a fallback** : free, ad-supported, no in-app purchases, so it only needs enough cheap volume to pay off.

### 7. Differentiation

No. Features, copy, and screenshot patterns are the same as dozens of rivals, and even the description of this developer's other package is word-for-word identical. The growth came from distribution and the counter, not the product.

### 8. What others can borrow

- 'AI palm reading / tarot' has real organic demand on Play in India, Nigeria, and Southeast Asia (older Palmee and Life Palmistry still chart), but **the money-makers are subscriptions or live human consultations** (Astrotalk, Palmee), not pure ad-supported templates.

- When reading Play install numbers, cross-check several signals: the rating distribution, the ratio of written reviews to ratings, and whether rank and installs move in the same direction. This is a good counterexample.

- If you want into this category, don't compete on volume. Build retention and payment hooks (such as AI astrologer chats or a compatibility-report subscription). Template studios like HoangSi and Kienmaly have already maxed out the volume playbook.

### 9. What's uncertain

- I haven't verified how many installs are real users versus paid, which kind of paid acquisition it is (Google UAC, incentivized offer walls, install farms), or checked the Google Ads Transparency Center.

- I don't know which country the team is actually in or how much ad revenue they make.

- I also haven't verified whether this is inflating installs to flip the account later.
