# A "casual game" account launched an AI video app: FantasyPic's same template behind 27 accounts

**What it is** An Android app that turns selfies into fantasy and anime-style images, then turns photos into short videos of a few seconds, with ads and in-app purchases starting at $1.99.

**Why it took off** Paid acquisition concentrated in the first two weeks after launch, bringing in over 4000 people a day; afterward it stopped for days, then surged again. Its chart rankings come from a combined chart shared by many small countries with low entry barriers.

**C** **How you could follow it** Don't build another fantasy-style photo-to-video app. If you want to learn from it, learn the method: one template swapped across topics, multiple accounts posting in rotation, concentrated paid acquisition in the first two weeks to check payback. Apply it to specific scenarios these accounts don't cover yet, and only if you already know how to run paid acquisition on Google Play.

Grade C: the product has no differentiation, the category is saturated by Kling, PixVerse, Remini and big-company free features, and a same-template network of 27 accounts is competing for the same users. Real revenue is not visible. You can learn a full playbook for spreading accounts and paid acquisition, but copying it is not a good use of time. Nobody knows about it yet

Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-10-10 · 11-07 installs 33,460

Android · Total installs worldwide

Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.

FantasyPic has been on the store for under a month, with 33k installs, and ranks #88–#91 in the Art & Design top-grossing charts in over a dozen countries. It looks like a newly emerged small hit, but looking closer it is one of 27 accounts under different developer names running the same photo-to-video template. Its growth came from paid acquisition, not the product. What's worth studying is the playbook, not the app.

### A developer that says it makes casual games

In May 2026 5, a blogger page named "Lancang Kuning Nexus" published its only post, describing itself as a "professional digital company making mobile games and software for Android" that "specializes in casual and offline games." Lancang Kuning is a place name in Riau province, Indonesia. The developer email is a personal Gmail, and there is no website.

Five months later, in October 10, the account's first Google Play app was not a game but FantasyPic: AI Art & Video. By November 6, FantasyPic was the account's only app, and AppBrain records it as active for under a month with just one app.

Inference: this is a developer account that was kept around and later used for something else. As shown below, it has more than twenty siblings.

### What it is

The store page says: "Upload a photo, pick a style, and let AI do the rest." It has two features: turning selfies into fantasy, anime, cyberpunk and retro-style images, and turning a still photo into a short video of a few seconds, "perfect for TikTok and Instagram." It is free to download, ad-supported, with in-app purchases from $1.99 to $99.99 (Google Play store page, 11-06).

The version number has been 1.0.0 since launch, and the last update was in October 26. No ratings, not a single review.

Functionally, it is indistinguishable from Remini, PixVerse, Kling and Hailuo, products with tens of millions of installs, and it has no model of its own. Its privacy policy says "self-hosted AI models, no third-party AI services," which can't be verified. It more likely calls a unified video generation API (inference).

### How it grew

The install curve looks like this (cumulative global; October figures are third-party estimates, and 10-29 comes from Google Play's public daily install counts):

| Date | Total installs | New |
|---|---|---|
| 10-24 | 11,869 | Day one about +4,400 |
| 10-25 | 16,168 | About +4,300 |
| 10-27 | 20,207 | Two days about +4,000 |
| 10-29 | 20,217 | Barely moving |
| 10-31 | 27,052 | +6,835 in three days |
| 11-03 | 31,376 | +4,324 in three days |
| 11-05 | 32,018 | +642 in two days |
| 11-06 | 33,460 | +1,442 |

An app with no ratings, no reviews, not a single TikTok video in search, and no mentions on X in nearly 30 days, gained over 4000 users a day within two weeks of launch, then stopped for days and surged again for days. This is the shape of on-off paid acquisition, not word of mouth.

Evidence is in its own privacy policy: "Analytics and attribution data collected through Firebase, Singular." Singular is a tool for calculating per-channel payback on paid campaigns; an app that doesn't run ads has no use for it. Which networks it bought on (Google or Meta) and what the creatives looked like was not found in public ad libraries (unverified).

### Chart rankings don't tell you much

FantasyPic 11-06 sits on the Art & Design Top Grossing chart in India, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Poland, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Argentina, with every rank between 88 and 91. Nearly identical ranks across a dozen-plus countries are already a red flag on their own.

Put the India store and Singapore store chart segments (ranks 80–95) side by side, in exactly this order: ……ReeLora → Logo Maker → FantasyPic → Zelya Lite → Lazy Lighting → Clipsy AI → NexFrame……. This is a shared roll-up chart that many small countries use, the entry bar for this segment is low, and ReeLora, Clipsy AI and NexFrame are all same-template siblings of FantasyPic. So "charted on multiple country Top Grossing lists" can't be used as revenue evidence. The free charts are real, though: Australia 71, France 76, UK 79, Italy 82 (Art & Design free chart, 11-06).

### Its siblings

The privacy policy URL gives it all away. FantasyPic's privacy policy sits under a path like `file.<name>.xyz/<name>/privacy.html`. Searching Google Play for that pattern finds 27 apps and 27 distinct developer names, roughly 2.1M installs combined, and about 7k new installs combined over the last 200 days (Google Play installs, 11-06).

| App | Developer | Launched | Installs | past 7 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vimo AI: Photo to Video | OULAD EL HAJ CAR | 2026-02-21 | 346k | +11k |
| AI Photo Video Maker | Sonny Wiklund | 2026-02-16 | 252k | +51k |
| FastVid AI | Ankit20 | 2026-05-09 | 155k | +3k |
| ApexPixel | S&F enterprises.jpg | 2026-07-17 | 125k | +18k |
| Artlume | Uğur Cebeci | 2026-07-16 | 108k | +5k |
| Vidoza | IT Hub Info | 2026-07-31 | 107k | +15k |
| Storyla AI | ayselmvaysin | 2026-07-31 | 57k | +9k |
| Framegen | SecureVault | 2026-09-22 | 37k | +37k |
| MotoPic | Mokhtar 2026 | 2026-10-13 | 35k | +14k |
| FantasyPic | Lancang Kuning Nexus | 2026-10-10 | 33k | +13k |

The privacy policy path isn't the only link. FantasyPic, Storyla, Framegen and MotoPic all name Firebase plus Singular in their policies. FantasyPic and MotoPic both say "self-hosted AI models". The package names all follow a short-word.short-word pattern. The developers are all personal Gmail accounts, with names spread across Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Turkey and Morocco. FantasyPic's policy effective date is Aug 26, a month and a half before the app went live, so the text was lifted straight from a template.

The earliest one launched in February, the densest wave was July (11 apps), and launches were still going in October (FantasyPic, MotoPic, Clipsy and 4 more). One account finishes a round, and the next one takes over.

Storyla's curve shows the rhythm best. On August 15 and 16 it added about 3,800 and 8,000 over the two days, then decayed to a few hundred a day. From late September to late October it added only single digits a day, which looks like paid spend switched off. Then on Oct 30 it jumped to +2,416 and scaled back up (third-party estimate).

From the outside you can't tell whether one company batch-opened these accounts or a template/source-code seller sold the kit to many individual developers. The scattered developer locations and the uniform backend hosting look more like the second (inference).

### Why it survives

Photo-to-video and AI portrait apps were among the fastest-growing Google Play categories over 2026 years, and several AI photo/video apps were adding 14–230k installs a week at the same time (Google Play installs). The demand is already there. The playbook only needs three things: a template that can be reskinned in bulk, a pool of developer accounts, and an in-app purchase and ad mix where paid acquisition pays back. The product doesn't need to be good. Each account only needs to earn back its ad spend before it gets banned or ROI drops. New accounts kept launching from February through November, which suggests the math works at least roughly (inference). Real revenue and retention are unknown.

It has nothing a follower can't get: no big-company traffic, no proprietary model, no legacy users. But there's no moat here for you to dig into either. Its competitors are Kling, PixVerse, Hailuo, Remini, ByteDance's Hypic and Dreamina, plus free image-to-video from Gemini, Sora and Meta AI on one side, and its own 26 siblings on the other.

### If it were you

**Verdict** : FantasyPic itself isn't worth chasing. It's a sample of a playbook. The playbook (one template × many accounts × paid acquisition to push charts) is learnable, but copying it means jumping into a red ocean where a big company and a 27-account matrix are fighting at the same time, and you can't see their payback numbers.

**Who it fits** : small teams that already run paid acquisition on Google Play, have usable developer accounts, and can calculate per-user payback periods. For them it's a template they can compare against directly: category, pricing, launch cadence and chart tactics are all visible.

**Who it doesn't fit** : indie devs who have never run ads and are counting on organic store traffic. None of these apps grew from organic traffic. It also doesn't fit anyone who wants product differentiation, because in this category differentiation comes from the model, and the models sit with big companies.

**How to do it** : if you do it, don't build "yet another fantasy photo-to-video app". Learn the method and change the subject. Use one template with swapped theme words (this cluster already covers Fantasy, Video, Reel, Motion, Story), pick a category like Art & Design where the roll-up charts are an easy entry, price in-app purchases from $1.99 and add ads, and plug in an off-the-shelf video generation API. The more promising move is to apply the same template to a niche this cluster hasn't touched yet, one with a clear use case (inference: holiday e-cards, pets, bringing old photos to life), so the creative sells itself.

**How to acquire users** : paid acquisition, no other option. Connect an attribution tool, concentrate spend in the first two weeks to push the category chart, check payback, and if it fails, stop, switch accounts or niches, and start again.

**How much time you have** : no hard deadline. This playbook has run for 9 months. The window depends on how much Google Play tolerates many accounts running the same template, and on video generation costs. Either one could shift suddenly after a policy change.

**Signs you've misread it** : ① several same-template apps are removed in bulk over the next month or two, which means the platform has started cleaning up and the playbook is over; ② the reverse: new accounts keep launching and older ones keep growing over the last 7 days, for example AI Photo Video Maker sustaining +50k a week. That would mean the payback math is easier than it looks, and it's worth running the numbers seriously; ③ FantasyPic starts getting ratings, reviews and version updates, which would mean it's more than a disposable account.

Where users come from

- Inferred **Paid acquisition (platform unknown)** : the privacy policy names Singular for attribution. Daily adds of 4000+ in the first two weeks, then a cliff and on-off decay. No ratings, reviews or external content. Same-template Storyla also did 8-16 in a single day at +8000, went quiet at the end of September, and scaled back up 10-30

- **Verified** **Bulk account seeding (developer account matrix)** : the googleplay library has 27 apps from 27 distinct personal Gmail developers, with privacy policies all under file.<name>.xyz/<name>/privacy.html. The developer's Blogger page 2026-05 describes a game company, and its policy effective date 08-26 predates the 10-10 launch

- **Verified** **Store search and category charts** : titles and descriptions stuff terms like AI Art, Photo to Video, Fantasy, Anime. ART_AND_DESIGN free chart ranks 66–200, roll-up Top Grossing ranks 88–150 (googleplay library chart_rank)

- Inferred **Content, creators, media** : a TikHub search for "FantasyPic" returns 0 results, x-radar returns 0 posts over 30 days, and the web only has auto-generated aggregator pages

## FantasyPic: AI Art & Video (com.picai.fantasy) research report

Research date: 2026-11-06. Data sources: googleplay library (GP library), metaads / googleads / tiktokads libraries, Jina web search and page extraction, TikHub, x-radar.

### Bottom line

FantasyPic isn't an independent breakout. It's one of a batch of photo-to-video / AI art reskin apps: same template, privacy policy under `file.<name>.xyz/<name>/privacy.html`, Singular attribution SDK, and each app under a different personal Gmail developer account. Our library matches 27 of them, and 26 are its siblings. Its curve is a one-off paid push: about 4400 adds in the first two weeks of launch, then decay to a few hundred a day. Its several Top Grossing ranks are just a run of same-template apps sitting next to each other on a roll-up chart, not a revenue signal. It grew on a distribution playbook and bulk account seeding. The product itself has no differentiation.

### 1. Basic data

- Launched 2026-10-10 (GP library `app.released`, `released_reset=False`). Version has stayed at 1.0.0, last updated 2026-10-26. No ratings and no reviews.

- Developer "Lancang Kuning Nexus", email lancangkuningnexus@gmail.com, no website. The library shows only this one app for this developer. AppBrain describes it as active for under a month with only one app. Its Blogger page 2026-05-05 posted a company introduction calling itself a "casual / offline game development company", which doesn't match this AI video app. It looks like an account that was warmed up first and later repurposed (Lancang Kuning is a place name in Riau, Indonesia). Sources: [www.appbrain.com/dev/Lancang+Kuning+Nexus/](https://www.appbrain.com/dev/Lancang+Kuning+Nexus/), [lancangkuningnexus.blogspot.com/](https://lancangkuningnexus.blogspot.com/)

- Monetization: ad-free with in-app purchases, IAP range $1.99–$99.99 (GP library `iap_range`, `ad_supported=True`).

- Install curve (global cumulative; 10-24 to 10-28 is an AppstoreSpy estimate, from 10-29 on is collected by the GP library itself):
    - 10-24:11,869, about +4,440 that day
    - 10-25:16,168, about +4,299
    - 10-27:20,207, about +4,040 over two days
    - 10-28 → 10-29: nearly flat (+10)
    - 10-31:27,052 (+6,835 over three days)
    - 11-03:31,376 (+4,324 over three days)
    - 11-05:32,018 (+642 over two days)
    - 11-06:33,460(+1,442)
    - 7 days, 13,243 new installs. Daily adds fell from 4000+ early on to 300–1400 recently, with a day or two of almost no growth in between. It looks like on-off spending, with no sign of organic growth.

- Charts: 29–34 "store × chart" slots per day (GP library chart_rank). Free chart: 11-06 peaked on the ART_AND_DESIGN free chart at 71 in the Australia store, 76 in France, 79 in the UK, 82,10-29 in Italy, and best of all at 66 in Vietnam. Top Grossing: India, Nigeria, Netherlands, Poland, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Argentina all sat at ranks 88–91, almost identical. Compare the ART_AND_DESIGN Top Grossing ranks 80–95 in the India and Singapore stores 11-06: the order is exactly the same (…ReeLora → Logo Maker → **FantasyPic** → Zelya Lite → Lazy Lighting → **Clipsy AI** → **NexFrame** …). In other words, this is a roll-up chart shared across stores, and ReeLora, Clipsy and NexFrame are all same-template siblings. The entry bar for this rank range is low, so it can't be used as revenue evidence.

### 2. Competitors

#### 2.1 same-template matrix (the most direct "competitors" are really siblings)

The GP library has 27 apps whose privacy policy follows the `https://file.<x>.xyz/` pattern, from 27 distinct developer names, roughly 2.1M installs combined and +203k over the last 7 days. The earliest launched 2026-02-16, the latest 10-21. By launch month: February 2 apps, May 3, June 1, July 11, August 3, September 3, October 4. The main ones:

| App | Developer | Launched | Installs | 7 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vimo AI: Photo to Video | OULAD EL HAJ CAR | 2026-02-21 | 346k | +11k |
| AI Photo Video Maker | Sonny Wiklund | 2026-02-16 | 252k | +51k |
| FastVid AI | Ankit20 | 2026-05-09 | 155k | +3k |
| ApexPixel | S&F enterprises.jpg | 2026-07-17 | 125k | +18k |
| Artlume | Uğur Cebeci | 2026-07-16 | 108k | +5k |
| Vidoza | IT Hub Info | 2026-07-31 | 107k | +15k |
| Storyla AI | ayselmvaysin | 2026-07-31 | 57k | +9k |
| Framegen | SecureVault | 2026-09-22 | 37k | +37k |
| MotoPic | Mokhtar 2026 | 2026-10-13 | 35k | +14k |
| FantasyPic | Lancang Kuning Nexus | 2026-10-10 | 33k | +13k |
| Clipsy AI | ALIDev | 2026-10-13 | 11k | — |

Evidence that it's one template:

- The privacy policy path format is identical.

- FantasyPic, Storyla, Framegen and MotoPic all list Firebase + Singular attribution in their privacy policies. FantasyPic and MotoPic both say "self-hosted AI models / no third-party AI services."

- The package names all follow the "short word.short word" pattern (com.picai.fantasy, com.motopic.moktar, com.storyla.app).

- The developers are all personal Gmail accounts, with names spread across Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Turkey, Morocco and elsewhere.

FantasyPic's privacy policy is dated 2026-08-26, a month and a half before the app launched on the store. That means the text was pulled from a template library.

Storyla's curve (AppstoreSpy estimate) is a good sample of this playbook: 8-15 and 8-16 saw daily installs of 3,800 and 8,000, then decayed to a few hundred a day. From late September to late October, it was single digits a day, which is effectively paused spend. Then it jumped to +2,416 at 10-30, and scaling resumed.

#### 2.2 big players

| Product | Channel | Launched | Scale (GP library 11-06) | How it differs from FantasyPic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Remini(Bending Spoons) | Android | 2019 | 625M installs, +830k in 7 days | Established leaders in AI portraits and photo editing, with brand recognition |
| Hypic (ByteDance) | Android | 2023 | 130M, 7 days +760k | Photo editing plus AI art, backed by big-company traffic |
| PixVerse | Android | 2024-09 | 79.6M, 7 days +520k | In-house video model, viral with template effects |
| Kling AI (Kuaishou) | Android | 2025-01 | 34.8M, 7 days +750k | In-house top-tier video model |
| Hailuo AI(MiniMax) | Android | 2025-01 | 27.8M, 7 days +530k | In-house video model |
| Dreamina (ByteDance) | Android | 2026-06 | 6.02M | The CapCut ecosystem |
| Glam AI | Android | 2024-02 | 6.23M | US team, AI portraits and video templates |
| Umagic / GenV | Android | 2023 / 2025-11 | 4.61M / 1.81M | Neighbors on the same aggregated Top Grossing chart, small indie wrappers |
| Google Gemini (Veo / Nano Banana), OpenAI Sora, Meta AI | Big-company features | 2025–2026 | Hundreds of millions of users (exact figure unverified) | Free or subscription image-to-video and stylization built in |

Bottom line: this category is already crowded. FantasyPic has no identifiable functional difference from any of the products above (photo to fantasy / anime / cyberpunk styles, plus image-to-video). Compared with its template siblings, it only changes the name and the theme word ("Fantasy").

### 3. Growth tactics

- **Paid acquisition (inferred, very likely)** : The privacy policy states that Singular handles attribution. The original text reads "Analytics and attribution data collected through Firebase, Singular," and Singular is a tool for paid campaign accounting. The curve shows over 4000 daily installs within two weeks of launch, then a cliff-like decay with on-and-off traffic. The store listing has no ratings or reviews, and there is almost no coverage online. An app like this could not reach that volume from organic traffic alone. Our Meta, Google and TikTok (Europe) ad libraries did not track it or its sibling apps, so the exact channel (most likely Google App Campaigns or Meta) is **unverified** .

- **Store search and category charts** : It reached ranks 66–200 on the ART_AND_DESIGN Top Free chart, and ranks 88–150 on the aggregated Top Grossing chart. The name and description are stuffed with search terms like AI Art, Photo to Video, Fantasy and Anime. Chart exposure brings in a bit of organic volume.

- **Bulk account rotation (matrix)** : The same template runs under dozens of personal developer accounts, rotated in turn. When one account is banned or its ROI drops, the next one goes live. FantasyPic is one of the new accounts launched in October from this batch, alongside MotoPic (10-13), Clipsy (10-13) and Video Me (10-21).

- **Creators / influencers / media** : None. TikHub returns 0 videos for "FantasyPic", and x-radar shows 30 posts in the past 0 days. The web has only auto-generated aggregator pages such as AppBrain, Softonic, Similarweb (ranked #49 in Vietnam's ART_AND_DESIGN) and apiplay, plus a ScamAdviser listing that gives api.fantasypic.xyz a low trust score.

### 4. Why it took off

1. Paid-acquisition launch: over 4000 daily installs within two weeks, then decay into pulses. Singular attribution is named right in the privacy policy.

2. Inflated chart ranks: dozens of small countries share one aggregated ART_AND_DESIGN Top Grossing chart, so reaching ranks 88–91 is a low bar, and it sits alongside template siblings.

3. Matrix replication: the same template runs across 27 accounts, most densely in July. The template and backend ("self-hosted models," likely a shared API hub) are reused, so the marginal cost is only paid acquisition and one developer account.

4. The category has real demand: photo-to-video and AI portraits remain among the fastest-growing categories on Google Play in 2026. Over the same period, AI photo and video apps like Mistmere, Miuci and Mervious each added 14–230k new installs a week (GP library). Wrapping an app in this category can survive as long as paid acquisition ROI stays positive.

### 5. Differentiation

No product-level differentiation. Compared with its template siblings, it only changes the name and theme word. Set against Kling, PixVerse and Remini, it has no in-house model, no brand and no community. It runs not because of differentiation but because of the account rotation and paid-acquisition playbook: cheap in-app purchases (from $1.99) plus ad monetization, on top of a template that can be copied in bulk.

### 6. Visibility and copycats

- Visibility: few people know about it yet. No revenue is public, no media outlet or large X account has covered it, and there is no TikTok content.

- Copycat: FantasyPic is itself a copycat. The 26 sibling apps on the same template have been running since February, and it is a new account from October.

### 7. Takeaways

- The account-rotation method: "one template × many developer accounts × swap the name and theme." It spreads the ban risk and covers store search with different keywords (Fantasy / Video / Reel / Motion).

- Attribution through Singular, switch-style spending: concentrate budget in the first two weeks to push up category charts, stop if ROI is poor, then move to the next account.

- Picking the category: the ART_AND_DESIGN aggregated Top Grossing chart has a low bar, which makes it easy to look like it's "charting across multiple countries."

### 8. Uncertain

- We did not find the specific channels or creatives, and our ad libraries don't cover this batch of apps.

- Real revenue and retention are unknown. There are no ratings or reviews, which could mean the new account hasn't built up yet, or that reviews are being suppressed.

- Whether the matrix is run by one company opening accounts in bulk or a template/source-code vendor selling to many individual developers is **unverified** . It looks more like the latter: the developer names span many countries, yet the backend privacy pages share a uniform hosting format.

- The "self-hosted AI models" claim is unverified and most likely means a third-party video model API is connected.
