> One team has at least nine identical apps live at once, runs ads targeting English-speaking male users, uses a chat-then-paywall flow with high price points, and inflates ratings to lift conversion. # "The ad says all profiles are verified": OneVibe is the best-performing app in a matrix of dating decoy apps

**What it is** A local dating app for the US, UK, and Canada: after chatting a few messages with a batch of "female profiles," you have to pay to keep talking, and it also sells private photos and videos, $9.99–$179.99 per item.

**Why it took off** The same team published at least nine identical apps at once, ran ads to pull male users in English-speaking markets, locked chats behind a paywall with high unit prices, and inflated ratings to lift conversion. That got it to about 20,000 installs, enough to crack the Top Grossing chart in the low-barrier Communication category.

**C** **How you could approach it** Don't copy the paid-chat-plus-fake-profiles playbook. Take away just two things: the Top Grossing chart in small English-market categories has a low bar, and the method of testing one template across many brands and shifting budget to whichever one takes off. If you want to build a dating product, do the opposite: real-person verification, subscriptions, a narrow audience.

Grade C: you can see the entry barrier for small-category Top Grossing charts and how multi-app testing works, but the business runs on fake profiles and rating inflation. The field has veterans like Yala and Pix Gamming, plus OneVibe's own eight sibling apps, and it's skirting Google Play's policy lines, so it isn't worth a small team's time. Few people know about it yet

OneVibe went live on Google Play in Jul 21 and had under 20,000 installs by Nov 6, yet at one point it ranked #39 on the US Google Play Communication Top Grossing chart. The product is no different from its competitors. It made it there because one team, using nine different trading-company names, launched at least nine identical dating apps, bought traffic, charged mid-chat, and inflated ratings. Below: how the money comes in, where the traffic comes from, who the sibling apps and rivals are, and whether you should follow suit.

### A one-star review

On Sep 5, a US user named Michael Russell gave OneVibe one star on Google Play, and 12 people marked it helpful:

> "Don't download. I'd give zero stars if I could. **The ad says every profile is verified** , and that's a lie. The bots just want you to upgrade to premium so you can see their private photos and videos."

Two weeks earlier, on Aug 22, another user, matthew cawthorn, wrote more calmly:

> "It was fine at first. But just as the chat got going, you had to upgrade to keep talking. Not worth the price."

By Nov 6, these two reviews and another one-star review sat in the top three "most helpful" spots on OneVibe's store page. Yet the app's overall rating is 4.65.

### What it is

On the store page, OneVibe describes itself as a social space for "finding people on your wavelength": browse profiles, send a hello, share photos, break the ice with suggested topics. The title follows the same formula: "Dating, Meet & Nearby: OneVibe," stacking the Dating, Meet, and Nearby keywords.

The monetization is spelled out in the reviews: free users arrive and are immediately matched with a batch of "female profiles" who start chatting; once the conversation is going, it locks and you must pay to continue; then it sells private photos and videos, plus boosts like "exposure." In-app purchases run from $9.99 to $179.99 per item (Google Play listing). On Aug 23, a user named Mike 2.0 (23 people marked it helpful) said: "It's the same batch of profiles you see in other scam apps... I paid for exposure and it still didn't deliver. No customer service."

Overseas this model is called paid chat, and it's a different thing from Tinder or Hinge, which charge monthly subscriptions for dating real people. From the outside you can't tell whether the profiles are AI, human chat operators, or scripts. Unverified.

### How 20,000 installs got it onto the chart

| Date | Total installs | Score |
|---|---|---|
| 08-29 | 2,138 (est.) | – |
| 09-11 | 4,310 (est.) | – |
| 10-04 | 10,249 (est.) | – |
| 10-29 | 16,813 | 913 |
| 11-06 | 19,553 | 1,039 |

Source: Google Play install and rating counts; figures before October are third-party estimates. It adds roughly 200–400 installs a day, and +7 over the last 2,740 days.

The install curve comes in bursts. On Sep 10 it shipped version 1.0.5, and the next day it gained 1,077; on Oct 8 it gained +1,251 in one day. That looks like someone switching ad budgets on and off (inference). It hasn't been updated since.

On the chart, in the US Google Play Communication Top Grossing list 10-29 it slid from #39,11-06 to #71; its best UK Communication Top Free ranking was #53 (11-03), and its best Canada ranking was #83. The three English-speaking markets of the US, UK, and Canada were all scaled up together.

Getting onto the Top Grossing chart with under 20,000 installs shows two things: the bar for the US Communication Top Grossing chart is lower than you'd expect, and the pay-per-item model, starting at $9.99, gives paying users a very high average order value. Roughly estimated from rank, daily revenue sits somewhere between a few hundred and a thousand-plus dollars. Unverified.

### How the 4.65 rating came about

A few numbers side by side (Google Play, 11-06):

- 1,039 ratings against 19,553 installs, a rating rate of 5.3%. A normal app runs around 1%; the similar Metya is at 0.6%, and LocalSingles at 0.4%.

- 1-star: 51, 2-star: 0, 3-star: 9, 4-star: 133, 5-star: 843. An app that gets called a "scam" in reviews has zero two-star ratings.

- Over the last week the 1-star count went from 36 to 51,5, and the 879-star count dropped to 843. Whether Google is cleaning up suspicious ratings, I can't tell.

The ratings were almost certainly inflated or prompted inside the app (inference, high confidence). A high score in the store does one direct thing: people who land on the page see 4.6 stars and are more willing to install.

### Behind it: a matrix of nine apps

Search Google Play for OneVibe's features and you'll find a set of near-identical apps:

| App | Developer name | Launched | Total installs | Best rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OneVibe | Zouge Trading (Suizhou, Hubei) | 07-21 | 19,553 | US Communication Top Grossing 39 |
| Heartly | Guangxi Youhe Trading | 07-17 | 13,761 (7 days +6,538) | US / UK Communication Top Grossing 20 |
| Crushly | Dongguan Feizhicai Trading | 07-21 | 11,574 | US Communication Top Grossing 83 |
| Amoura | Guizhou Shishan City Trading | 07-21 | 10,414 | – |
| Comely | Jilin Xiangrui Trading | 07-17 | 10,297 | US Communication Top Grossing 60 |
| Meetly | Nanyang Luhe Network Technology | 07-21 | 6,613 | Australia Top Free 147 |
| Meetora | Wuhan Yueningge Trading | 08-14 | 4,380 | UK Top Free 154 |
| Lovora | Qiqihar Jibuchun Trading | 07-21 | 4,074 | – |
| Duora | Aiminglong Trading | 09-29 | 617 | – |

Source: Google Play, 11-06.

There's a lot that matches: every name follows "Dating, X & Nearby: Brand"; the package names are made-up words; contact emails are all gmail; privacy policies all sit on "brandname-chat.com," with nearly word-for-word identical terms (I checked the policy pages of onevibe, heartly, comely, amoura, and crushly); in-app purchases all run $9.99 to $179.99; ratings all fall between 4.6 and 4.8. They launched in two batches, on Jul 17 and 21, and new apps were added in August and late September.

The developer names are spread across companies in Hubei, Guangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou, Jilin, and Heilongjiang. The inference is that one team uses multiple entities to spread the risk of bans: if one account gets shut down, the others keep running. OneVibe has the most cumulative installs, but over the last week Heartly gained 6,538 and ranks higher on the grossing chart, so traffic seems to be shifting toward Heartly (inference).

### Where the traffic comes from

| Channel | What we saw | How sure are we? |
|---|---|---|
| Paid ads | The review quote "the ad states all profiles are verified"; install counts come in bursts; traffic surged in the US, UK, and Canada at the same time | Ads confirmed, but I couldn't find which platform they ran on |
| Rating inflation / prompted reviews | Rating rate is 9–13 times the category norm, with zero 2-star ratings | Highly suspicious, no direct evidence |
| Store search | The title stacks Dating, Meet, and Nearby; the whole matrix is named this way | Inferred |
| TikTok, X, Reddit, media | No coverage found anywhere | Confirmed absent |

No content marketing, and no one is discussing it. Users come in from ads, see 4.6 stars, install, chat for a few messages, then either pay or leave angry.

### Who it's competing with

| Product | Launched | Scale (Google Play) | Compared with alternatives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blazing(Yala Yala Technology) | 2023-05 | 1.35M installs, best US / Canada Communication Top Grossing #6 | The same paid-chat model, bigger and earlier, with in-app purchases of $0.29–$499.99 |
| Metya / LocalSingles(Pix Gamming) | 2025-09 / 2025-03 | 78k / 96k installs, US Communication Top Grossing #34 / #46 | Same kind of matrix, ratings 2.8–3.3 with no obvious inflation, lower prices |
| Cuddi | 2022 | 1.58M installs | Also a Chinese team going global with "people nearby" apps |
| Cafe, Azar, and other video chat apps | 2013–2019 | Tens to hundreds of millions of installs | Sell video matching and streamers, not text chat and private photos |
| Tinder / Bumble / Hinge | 2012–2016 | Tens of millions to hundreds of millions | Real people, subscriptions; not the same category |

This niche is already crowded: veterans like Yala and Pix Gamming are in it, and OneVibe has its own eight sibling apps. OneVibe differs from them in only two ways: it inflates ratings harder (4.65 versus 2.8–3.3), and its prices are higher.

### If it were you

**In one line** : don't copy it. This is a business that makes money through fake profiles and rating inflation. The niche is crowded and short-lived, and the whole group could be pulled at any time. Only two observations are worth taking away.

**What you can learn** :

1. On small-category charts like the US Google Play Communication Top Grossing, the bar is very low: 20,000 installs with pay-per-item pricing can get you into the top 40. If you're building a small tool or social product for an English-speaking market with high willingness to pay, aim for a small category's top chart first; it's more realistic than chasing the overall chart.

2. Test one template across several brands and several titles at once, and shift budget to whichever takes off. The method itself isn't against the rules, and it works just as well on a legitimate product.

**Who it suits** : people who already have a paid acquisition team and want to find a low-barrier English-market category, using this as a benchmark for "how much volume does this category's top chart take."

**Who it doesn't suit** : indie developers who want to copy a paid-chat dating app. You don't have nine developer entities, a chat-operator or content team, and you can't survive a group-wide ban. Google Play's policies on fake profiles and misleading claims hit right at the core of this playbook.

**If you must enter dating** : do the opposite. Real people, real-name verification, subscriptions. Pick a specific audience (a city, an age group, an interest), actually deliver on "every profile is verified," and say so clearly in the store listing and ads. The people who got burned say it plainly in the reviews: that's exactly what they're missing. You'll still need paid acquisition, and your creative can lead with "no bots."

**Call it wrong if:** ① Over the next month or two, the OneVibe and Heartly pack group isn't taken down and keeps adding new apps, holding the top 50 grossing spots. That would mean this playbook is tougher than it looks and the platforms aren't cracking down hard. ② Someone can show which platforms it runs on and what each install costs, and that cost is low enough that a small team could make a real product pay back. Then the small-category grossing chart is worth more than this piece says.

### Data and sources

- Installs, ratings, and charts: Google Play install counts, rating counts, and category rankings as of 2026-11-06. Install curves before October are third-party estimates.

- The matrix: Google Play listing pages and developer info for nine apps; privacy policy pages at onevibe-chat.com, heartly-chat.com, comely-chat.com, amoura-chat.com, and crushly-chat.com.

- Ads: Meta, Google ad libraries, and the TikTok Europe ad library turned up no creatives for it. Not finding them doesn't mean it isn't advertising.

- There's another app called OneVibe on the App Store, from a company in the UAE. It's unrelated to this piece.

Competitors

| Name | Where | Launched | Scale | How it differs from this one |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heartly (same matrix) | Android | 2026-07-17 | 13,761 installs, 7 days +6,538, best US / UK Communication top-grossing rank #20 | Same template, only the brand differs. The team is shifting volume onto it now. |
| Blazing(Yala Yala Technology) | Android | 2023-05 | 1.35M installs, best US / Canada Communication top-grossing rank #6 | Also paid chat, but it launched earlier and is bigger, with a wider price range ($0.29–$499.99) |
| Metya / LocalSingles(Pix Gamming) | Android | 2025-09 / 2025-03 | 78K / 96K installs, US Communication top-grossing #34 / #46 | Similar paid dating. Ratings of 2.8–3.3 weren't obviously inflated, and prices are lower. |
| Tinder / Bumble / Hinge | iOS | 2012–2016 | Hundreds of millions or tens of millions of installs (public info) | Real users, subscription model. OneVibe sells virtual profiles plus paywalls on chat. |
| Cafe / Azar and other video chat | Android | 2013–2019 | 30M to 290M installs | Sell video matching / hosts. OneVibe sells text chat and private photos. |

Where users come from

- **Confirmed** **paid ad buying** : a user review says in their own words, "the ad states all profiles are verified"; installs jump in bursts (09-11 +1,077, 10-08 +1,251); the US, UK, and Canada ramped at the same time. Our Meta / Google / TikTok Europe ad libraries have no record of it (it isn't on the list).

- Inferred **review inflation / prompted good reviews** : rating rate of 5.3% (1,039 / 19,553), 9–13 times that of comparable apps; 2-star reviews are 0, 5-star reviews are 81%, yet every review Play marks most helpful is 1-star.

- **Confirmed** **a matrix of sock-puppet apps** : at least 9 apps and 9 shell trading companies, all using gmail, privacy policies all on <brand>-chat.com with the same template, with launches clustered on July 17 / 21.

- Inferred **store search ASO** : the title formula "Dating, Meet & Nearby: Brand" stuffs in high-frequency keywords.

- Inferred **TikTok / X / Reddit content** : TikHub, x-radar, and web search found no content pointing to it.

## Dating, Meet & Nearby: why OneVibe (com.sftspace.android) works

> Channel: Google Play. Developer: Zouge Trading Co., Ltd. (Suizhou Zouge Trading, Suizhou, Hubei). First launch 2026-07-21; research date 2026-11-06.

### Bottom line

OneVibe isn't a dating app with a distinctive product. It's **the best performer in a local dating matrix of at least 9 apps, built by a Chinese team across several shell "trading company" developer accounts.** Users mostly come in through ads (we found a user review saying "the ad says all profiles are verified," but our Meta, Google, and TikTok Europe ad libraries show no creatives for it). Once inside, it monetizes through "chat a few lines and you have to upgrade to keep going" and "pay to unlock private photos and videos," with single in-app purchases of $9.99–$179.99. The ratings are abnormally high, almost certainly inflated or prompted. It reached #39–75 on the US Communication top-grossing chart through this combo of matrix, paid acquisition, paywalled chat, and inflated ratings, not through anything special in the product itself.

### 1. Data

| Metric | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Cumulative global installs | 19,553(2026-11-06) | Google Play library app_profile |
| New in the last 7 days | +2,740 (about 390/day) | googleplay library |

| Rating | 4.65,1,039 ratings; distribution 1★51 / 2★0 / 3★9 / 4★133 / 5★843 | googleplay library app_snap 2026-11-06 |
| Charts | US Communication **top-grossing** : 10-29 #39 → 11-06 #71; UK Communication top free, best #53 (11-03); Canada top free, best #83 | googleplay library chart_rank |
| In-app purchases | One-time purchases $9.99 – $179.99 | Play listing |
| Version | No updates since 1.0.5,2026-09-10 | app_snap |

**Anomalies you can spot at a glance** :

- Ratings / installs = 1,039 / 19,553 ≈ **5.3%** . Normal apps usually sit around 1%. Metya, a comparable app, is 435/78,059 ≈ 0.6%, and LocalSingles is 405/96,110 ≈ 0.4%.

- Zero 2-star reviews, 5-star reviews make up 81%; yet the top three "most helpful" reviews on the Play page are all negative (see below). Over the past week, 1-star reviews went from 36 up to 51,5, while 879-star reviews dropped to 843 (is Google deleting suspicious ratings? Unverified).

- Conclusion: the ratings are almost certainly inflated or prompted. High ratings lift conversion on the store page, which is part of its growth playbook.

### 2. What users are saying (Play listing, scraped via Jina)

- Mike 2.0 (2026-08-23,23 people found it helpful): "Same as the other apps, the same batch of content-selling profiles... It's the same list of profiles I've seen in other scam apps. I paid for exposure and didn't get enough. No customer service."

- Michael Russell (2026-09-05,12 people found this useful): "**The ads say every profile is verified** , and that's a lie. Those bots are there to get you to upgrade to premium so you can see their private photos and videos."

- matthew cawthorn (2026-08-22,10 people found it helpful): "Good at first, but once you start talking you have to upgrade to keep chatting. Not worth the price."

These reviews show how it makes money: **free users chat with a batch of fake or outsourced female profiles for a few lines → the chat stalls and they have to pay → then they're sold private photos / videos and virtual items like "exposure"** . It's an old overseas playbook for paid chat and flirty dating (in the industry, 1v1 paid chat or virtual-currency chat), and it's not the same as Tinder's subscription model.

### 3. Competitors and the matrix

#### 3.1 The same team's matrix (key finding)

In the Google Play library we found a group of nearly identical apps:

| App | Bundle ID | Developer (shell) | Launched | Installs | Best rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| **OneVibe** | com.sftspace.android | Zouge Trading (Suizhou, Hubei) | 07-21 | 19,553 | US Communication top-grossing 39 |
| Heartly | com.vivisht.android | Guangxi Youhe Trading | 07-17 | 13,761 (7 days +6,538) | US / UK Communication top-grossing 20 |
| Crushly | com.quervi.android | Dongguan Feizhicai Trading | 07-21 | 11,574 | US Communication top-grossing 83 |
| Amoura | com.lurevi.android | Guizhou Shishan City Trading | 07-21 | 10,414 | – |
| Comely | com.kireli.android | Jilin Xiangrui Trading | 07-17 | 10,297 | US Communication top-grossing 60 / Australia top free 65 |
| Meetly | com.furrol.android | Nanyang Luhe Network Technology | 07-21 | 6,613 | Australia top free 147 |
| Meetora | xyz.qqfarm.internation | Wuhan Yueningge Trading | 08-14 | 4,380 | UK top free 154 |
| Lovora | com.merisel.android | Qiqihar Jibuchun Trading | 07-21 | 4,074 | – |
| Duora | gel.afterher.steallwei | Aiminglong Trading | 09-29 | 617 | – |

What they have in common:

- All titled "Dating, X & Nearby: Brand"; package names are made-up strings like `com.<fake-word>.android`;

- Developer contact emails are all gmail; privacy policies all sit at `www.<brand>-chat.com` with the same template (the sections are all "Third-Party Services Statement," with nearly identical wording; we pulled and compared the policy pages for onevibe, heartly, comely, amoura, and crushly);

- In-app purchase ranges are nearly all $9.99 / $0.99 – $179.99; ratings sit at 4.6–4.8,5 stars, with 80%–93% of reviews at the top;

- A batch launched on July 17 / 21, and 08-14 and 09-29 added new apps later.

OneVibe has the most cumulative installs in the group. Heartly grew fastest over the last 7 days (+6,538) and has the highest chart rank (#20), so the team appears to be shifting volume onto Heartly. The approach spreads risk across several apps and several shell companies, in case Google bans one.

#### 3.2 external competitors

| Competitors | Platform | Launched | Scale | How it differs from OneVibe |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tinder / Bumble / Hinge | iOS+Android | 2012–2016 | Installs in the hundreds of millions or tens of millions (store bracket, public info) | Real users, subscription model. OneVibe sells virtual profiles plus pay-per-message chat. |
| Blazing(Yala Yala Technology) | Android | 2023-05 | 1.35M installs, best US / Canada Communication top-grossing rank #6 | Same paid-chat playbook, but it started earlier and is bigger, with in-app purchases of $0.29–$499.99 |
| Metya / LocalSingles(Pix Gamming) | Android | 2025-09 / 2025-03 | 78K / 96K installs, US Communication top-grossing #34 / #46 | Same kind of matrix, ratings of 2.8–3.3 (not obviously inflated), lower prices ($2.49–$59.99) |
| Cafe, Coco, Azar and other video chat | Android | 2013–2019 | Several million to over a hundred million installs | Sells video matching / host chat. OneVibe sells text chat + private photos. |
| Cuddi(More Amusing Technology) | Android | 2022 | 1.58M installs | Also a Chinese team going global with "people nearby" apps |
| "OneVibe" on the App Store | iOS | 2026-02 | 0 ratings | It's an unrelated company in the UAE. Just a name clash. |

Data sources: googleplay library app_profile / chart_rank (2026-11-06); the App Store entry comes from iTunes lookup.

### 4. Growth tactics

| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Paid acquisition | One user review quotes "the ad states all profiles are verified". The curve jumps in bursts (09-11 +1,077, 10-08 +1,251), like budgets being switched on and off. US, UK and Canada were ramped together. English-market CPMs start at $9.99, enough to support CPI. | Partly confirmed (ads exist, platform unclear) |
| Rating inflation / prompted reviews | Rating rate is 5.3%, 9–13× that of comparable apps; 2-star at 0. Getting charted lifts high ratings, which improves store conversion. | Highly suspicious, not directly confirmed |
| Store search / ASO | The title stacks three high-frequency keywords: Dating, Meet, Nearby. The whole matrix uses this naming pattern. | Inferred |
| Shell app matrix | At least 9 apps, 9 shell companies, the same privacy-policy template | Confirmed |
| TikTok / creators / X / Reddit | A TikHub search for "OneVibe dating" returns only generic dating videos, none pointing to it. Not mentioned in the X corpus or on Reddit. | None found |
| Our ad library | metaads, googleads and tiktokads (Europe) have no record of it. It isn't on the list; its sibling Heartly is tagged no_ads in the Google library. | Not finding it doesn't mean it wasn't advertised. |

### 5. Why it took off

1. **The monetization model can carry a chart spot at low install counts** : at 19k installs it reached #39–#75 in US Communication Top Grossing. The US Communication grossing chart has a low bar. Single items sell for $9.99–$179.99, charged after the chat is opened, so ARPPU is high.

2. **Traffic from paid acquisition** : reviews mention ads, and the curve comes in bursts.

3. **Inflated ratings** improve store conversion and bury real negative reviews.

4. **The matrix spreads risk** : 9 apps tested at once, and budget goes to whichever performs. OneVibe was the first to run, and traffic is now moving to Heartly.

### 6. Differentiation

**Almost no product differentiation.** Features (browse profiles, say hi, send photos, conversation starters) match competitors exactly. A user even says it's "the same profile list as in other apps". It worked because of operations, not the product: paid acquisition, paywall placement, rating inflation, a multi-app matrix. The only real difference is that it inflates ratings harder than peers like Pix Gamming (4.65 vs 2.8–3.3), and its prices are higher.

### 7. Visibility and copycats

- Revenue isn't public. No media, X or Reddit coverage discusses it (x-radar searches for "OneVibe" and "onevibe-chat" each return 0 results).

- The "copycats" are its own sibling apps (Heartly, Comely, Crushly, etc.). Plenty of outside teams run the same playbook (Pix Gamming, Yala, etc.), so this niche is already crowded.

- Visibility: few people know of it, but the playbook is a publicly known routine in going-global circles.

### 8. What others can learn

- Multi-entity, multi-app matrix with a shared template (privacy policy, title formula, IAP tiers). Budget goes to whichever app performs.

- In a small English-market category grossing chart (Communication), a few tens of thousands of installs can get you charted.

- But this playbook runs into Google Play's fraud / misrepresentation policies (fake profiles, rating inflation). Its lifespan is short and it can be delisted at any time, so **don't copy it** . Only two things are worth borrowing: the low bar of small-category grossing charts, and testing products across multiple apps.

### 9. Still unclear

- Which ad platform it spends on (Meta / Google UAC / TikTok US), and its actual CPI and ROI.

- Actual revenue: US Communication grossing rank 40–75 roughly maps to a few hundred to a thousand-plus dollars a day, **unverified** .

- Whether the profiles are AI-generated, run by real people chatting, or pure bots: unverified.

- Whether the drop of 5-star and rise of 1-star reviews over the last week reflects Google clearing ratings: unverified.

- Whether this team has a matching iOS app: no result found.
