On Google Play it's called KoraPlus – Live Scores. The store page talks about scores, lineups, xG, and fan chat. Outside the store, it's the mobile version of the pirate streaming brand "Sir TV / سير تيفي" that serves the Arab world. Users come for the free streams, so installs spike on big match days. The playbook is clear, but the part that actually brings people in is something you can't learn from it, and shouldn't try to.

### A webpage on the evening of Nov 6

On Nov 6, the site sir-tv.vip was open. The homepage title reads "Sir TV سير تيفي – Today's matches" and the first line says "Sir TV official site: HD, smooth live streams of today's matches." Below it, that evening's games are listed: 19:00 a Moroccan league match, Hassania Agadir vs Renaissance de Berkane; 21:00 Everton vs Coventry; 21:00 Sevilla vs Alavés. Each match has a "Watch live" link.

A banner at the bottom of the page switches between Arabic, English, or French depending on the browser language. The English version reads:

This shell is more polished than the average wrapper app, and the official site kora.plus has 8 screenshots.

The reviews tell a different story. The most-liked Arabic reviews on Play (11-06):

Nobody is talking about xG.

### It was already called SIR TV

The package name com.sirtv.tv already tells half the story. A Wayback snapshot of the store page from Oct 17 shows it called "SIR TV," with developer "STV PLUS" and 8,310 reviews. The developer ID is the same as today's KoraPlus. By Oct 29, the name had changed to KoraPlus. The official site kora.plus says it plainly: "سير تيفي أصبح الآن كورة بلس" (Sir TV is now KoraPlus), and "If you had Sir TV, just update on Google Play, your followed teams are still there." The contact name on the site is a common Moroccan name, and it says the iOS and web versions are "coming soon."

"Sir TV / Siiir TV" is a widely circulated free-streaming brand across the Maghreb with no single owner: sir-tv.vip, siiiirtv.live, sirtv.org, sir-tv.io, siirtv.app, and dozens of other domains are all competing for the term, each sending people to different Play apps. KoraPlus is simply the one that grabbed it most successfully.

AppstoreSpy's install estimates: Sep 12 17.5k, Oct 4 200k, Oct 25 416k. The curve isn't a slope but a series of steps. On Oct 4 it's estimated at +43k; on Oct 25 at +83k, the day of the season's first El Clásico, where Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2–1 at Camp Nou with two goals from Mbappé. Between those big matches, it gets only dozens to a few thousand installs a day.

It also charted in the top 200 of the free sports charts in 9 countries, including the US, France, the Netherlands, Japan, Germany, and Turkey. Sports charts in those storefronts have low bars to entry, most likely Arab football fans abroad, so don't read it as "successful international expansion" (inference).

One number to watch: one-star reviews rose from 328 to 752 in a single week, which lines up with the top-liked "live stream keeps cutting out" review.

### Where users come from

**Ready-made brand term.** It launched under the name "SIR TV," so anyone searching "sir tv" or "سير تيفي" on Play finds it. That search volume didn't cost the app anything to create.

**Its own pirate streaming sites.** sir-tv.vip and siiiirtv.live target long-tail searches for every spelling of "Sir TV," plus daily per-match "today's live match" pages, with banners sending people to Play. Searching the package name com.sirtv.tv, the top result is siiiirtv.live. The pitch is right on the banner: "Never blocked." Pirate sites get shut down every so often and need new domains, but an app installed on your phone doesn't.

**Riding a bigger name.** Renaming to KoraPlus wasn't only about dropping the too-obvious "SIR TV." An Egyptian sports media outlet is called Kora Plus (كورة بلس), with 9.67M followers on Facebook and 3.8M on TikTok, and it has no connection to this app. The official site specifically notes "also written كوره بلس / كورا بلس / KoraPlus, all the same official app." Each of those spellings is a search term.

**Nothing found.** Searching TikTok for sir tv, سير تيفي, and كورة بلس turned up no official account or promo videos. A YouTube channel with the same name has 234 subscribers. No evidence of paid acquisition or bought reviews was found (unverified).

### Where the money comes from

Ads only: the store lists "Contains ads" and no in-app purchases, and revenue has never been disclosed. With 470k installs and tens of thousands of new users on a single derby day, how much it earns at ad rates in the Middle East and North Africa can't be determined from outside.

### Who it's competing with

This category was already crowded, and everyone plays it the same way: take a pirate streaming brand name and list it as "Live Scores."

The most telling part is row five: the moment "SIR TV" was released, another developer picked it up and gained 50k in a week. A brand term belongs to no one, and whoever holds it eats.

### Why this one, and why now

Legitimate football broadcasting in the Middle East and North Africa is largely locked up by beIN, and it's expensive. Every weekend and big match day, a lot of people hunt for free streams, and names like "Sir TV" are search terms in themselves. KoraPlus got three things right: it used a scores-app shell to pass review, it used its own site network to catch searches outside the store, and it sold "Never blocked" against the pain of sites being shut down. On the October national derby, it gained 80k in one day.

Whether it can keep growing like this depends on when Google steps in. Apps like this can be pulled at any time, and they can also draw copyright complaints from beIN or trademark complaints from Kora Plus.

### If it were you

**Verdict: don't follow.** Its growth comes entirely from piracy. Users want free live streams, and that's the one thing followers can't build. A compliant Arabic scores app has no such hook, and it would head straight into 365Scores, Sofascore, and FotMob. The pirate-stream lane is also saturated: Yacine TV and Yalla Shoot are an order of magnitude bigger.

**Who it suits:** Nobody should copy this. People working on Play store distribution or sports content can treat it as a teardown to study.

**Who it doesn't suit:** Anyone who wants to build in Arabic sports without broadcast rights. Without live streams, you have no reason to pull users away from 365Scores; with live streams, you're the next app waiting to be pulled.

1. **Catch existing search demand outside the store with your own site, then send people to the store.** For example, a category's slang term or a common misspelling. Build long-tail web pages and daily-updated content pages, with banners pointing to the app.

2. **Let growth follow the calendar.** Fixture schedules, holidays, and exam seasons: have landing pages and conversion paths ready a week before the peak. One KoraPlus derby day brought in as many installs as a normal month.

3. **Catch old users with a banner when you rename.** Put "X is now Y" on the old brand site and the official site, state "just update, your data is all still there," and include every spelling of the new name on the page.
