A motorcycle repair shop's account gained 125k installs in one day: how the screen-casting app "Smart Cast to TV & Mirror" got pushed up
What it is A free, ad-supported app for casting your phone screen to a smart TV. Its features match dozens of similar apps.
Why it blew up The operator published through a borrowed account from a small Indian company, and ran coordinated paid installs on the same days as a sister app sharing its domain. 10-04 and 10-08 brought in about 200k installs in two days, pushing it up the India category chart.
CHow you could follow Copy this only if you already run several accounts and can do the math on paid acquisition payback. As an indie dev, go after what it does badly: a tighter product built for one TV brand, with a lighter ad load, earning ratings and retention to rank in search.
- Data (updated daily) · first launch 2026-07-21 · 11-07 installs 502,763
Android · Total installs worldwide Data 2026-10-29 → 2026-11-07 (10 days, 10 observations). Google's detail page only refreshes install counts every other day, so a flat day doesn't mean nobody installed.
Smart Cast to TV & Mirror is a free Google Play app that mirrors a phone screen to a smart TV. It launched in 2026 Jul 21, reached 500k installs by Nov 6, and hit #23 on the India Video Players Top Free chart. It has no ratings, nobody discusses it on social media, and its features match dozens of rivals. It grew because of a borrowed developer account and a series of concentrated paid-acquisition pushes. Below: what it is, where the installs came from, where the money comes from, who's bigger, and whether you should follow it.
The developer is a motorbike repair shop in India
As of Nov 6, the developer page on Google Play listed "Muktamil Repair" with one line: "Trusted bike repair in Katihar—affordable, honest service by expert mechanics," a motorbike repair shop in Katihar, Bihar. Website: muktamilrepairs.store.
The company exists in Indian corporate registries: MUKTAMIL REPAIR AND SERVICE PRIVATE LIMITED, registered in Katihar in July 2023 with one director (instafinancials, zaubacorp). The same account also has a legitimate bike-repair info app (live.muktamil.repair). The rest has nothing to do with repairs: screen casting, a Free Fire skin viewer, and earlier a "celebrity prank video call" app (11-06 no longer visible on the developer page).
This is a common pattern in Indian developer circles (inferred): register an "organization" developer account using a real small company's credentials, publish a related app that passes review, then use that account to ship ad-monetized utility apps. Organization accounts skip the closed-testing requirement that new personal accounts face, so they go live faster. If the account gets banned, the operator only loses one account.
There's also a mismatch: the developer website listed on the store page isn't the repair shop's. It's blueicegemsservice.com, which doesn't load. The same domain is attached to another developer account, "Xyron Labs," which publishes a phone-location tool, "GPS Tracker: Phone Tracker," launched Aug 5 with 570k installs. So the same operator is behind at least two accounts (inferred, high confidence).
Its install curve moves in steps
Cumulative daily installs on Google Play (third-party estimates; observed days are reliable):
| Timeline | What happened |
|---|---|
| Mid August | 2k to 5k per day, roughly 25k total by Aug 33 |
| 8-28 to 9-08 | Nearly flat, single digits per day |
| From ¥9-09 | Restarts, 9-25 to 128k, 10-01 to 164k |
| 10-03 → 10-04 | +76k in one day (174k to 250k), then +24 over the next two days |
| 10-07 → 10-08 | +125k in one day (251k to 376k), then +85 over the next three days |
| mid-to-late October | 1k to 7k per day |
| 11-03 → 11-05 | Another +28k, 11-06 is 0 |
Oct 4 and 8 together brought about 200k installs, around 40% of its total. Store search and word of mouth don't produce that shape: organic traffic doesn't jump 120k one day and 0 the next. This looks like installs bought in batches, switched on and off. The 500k installs with zero ratings also suggest the users aren't engaging (whether the zero-rating base includes fake ratings can't be determined from outside).
The sister app makes the case clearest. GPS Tracker, which shares blueicegemsservice.com, added +86k in a single day from 10-01 to 10-02, +43k from 10-02 to 10-04, and +31k from 10-07 to 10-08, then also dropped to single digits. The two apps switched on on the same days, which points to one paid acquisition budget.
Chart positions moved with it. On the India Video Players Top Free chart it sat at #140 in Oct 29 and #23 in Nov 6. The same chart in the UAE, Italy, Malaysia, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Poland put it between #120 and #200. This category's chart threshold is low, so the rank alone says little, but once it reached the top 25 in India, it likely picked up some organic traffic from people searching "cast to tv" (inferred).
Where users come from
- Batched paid acquisition (pattern confirmed, channel not confirmed). The step-shaped install curve above is the main evidence. Its privacy policy is template-generated and lists two third-party SDKs: Google AdMob and Facebook SDK for Android. AdMob handles monetization. In apps like this, the Facebook SDK is typically used for attribution of Meta app-install ads, so Meta or its ad network may be the acquisition channel (inferred). The package name doesn't show up in the Meta Ad Library, Google, or TikTok creative archives, but that doesn't mean it wasn't advertised.
- Store keywords. The title and description repeat "Cast to TV," "Screen Mirroring," and "Smart TV" dozens of times. The last line of the description is "Cast videos, photos, musics & screen to Smart TV."
- Content and creators: none. A TikTok search for its name returns 0 results, and about 0 posts on X in the last 30 days. The only web hits are APK download sites and auto-generated data pages.
Where the money comes from
All revenue is ads: free, no in-app purchases, with AdMob app-open, interstitial, and native ads. The third-party data site AppGoblin estimates about 130k monthly active users and "$10K+" in monthly revenue (automated estimate, unverified).
The math works because screen casting is a tool people open every time they use it: every TV session shows an app-open ad. Many users probably don't know Android's quick settings already has a "Cast" option (inferred), but if they open it a few times a week, ad revenue can cover the cost of cheap installs from a mixed India, Middle East, and Europe audience. The actual cost per install isn't visible from outside.
Who's bigger
Screen casting is one of the most crowded tool categories on Google Play, and the OS already includes the feature:
| Product | Launched | Scale (Google Play installs) | Compared with alternatives |
|---|---|---|---|
| Android's built-in Cast, Google Home, Samsung Smart View | Years | All Android phones | Free, no ads |
| Cast for Chromecast & TV Cast(iKame/Begamob) | 2021 | 97.5M, 1.07M ratings | Established leader, has subscriptions |
| Cast to TV, Chromecast & Roku(InShot) | 2017 | 78.7M | Big-company tool matrices cross-promoting each other |
| Screen Mirroring - TV Miracast(Sooltr) | 2020 | 49.2M | Established, has subscriptions |
| AI Mirror: Screen Mirroring TV(Insumos XP) | 2026-04 | 24.3M, +587k in the last 7 days | Also a new clone, but two orders of magnitude bigger. The same developer domain hosts 4 casting apps |
| TV Cast & Mirroring: All TV(Jakka Apps) | 2026-06 | 4.7M | Same-period clones |
| CastAll(PureSoft Studio) | 2026-08 | 2.25M | Same-period clones |
| Cast to TV: Screen Mirror(Nikita Infotech) | 2026-09-27 | 1.03M, +227k in the last 7 days | Launched two months later and already twice its size |
| Smart Cast to TV & Mirror(Propx App Studio) | 2026-08 | About 4.8k | Same name, same template, didn't take off, 9-16 pulled |
At least 20 casting apps with cast or mirror in the title have launched since May 2026. It's a copycat itself, and not one of the biggest in this batch. The same-name Propx version shows the name and template circulating, so anyone can reuse them.
How many people know about it
Almost no one. No press coverage, no social discussion, no public revenue, just one automated figure from a data site. That doesn't mean the opportunity is open: the casting category's playbook is well known in Indian utility app circles, and new clones of the same kind show up constantly.
If it were you
C: worth learning from, but not worth copying. There's nothing about the product to copy. It works only because of distribution: organization accounts, synced multi-account launches, and cheap paid installs that still pencil out. That's an arbitrage craft, not a product opportunity, and this category already has Insumos XP, a matrix two orders of magnitude larger, doing the same thing.
Best for: Teams already monetizing utility apps with ads on Google Play, holding several working developer accounts, able to run Meta or Mintegral campaigns, and able to calculate cost per install and ad revenue per user. For them, this is a case study of a casting app that could still break out in autumn 2026.
Not for: First-time indie devs, anyone uncomfortable with borrowed accounts and grey-area tactics or unable to handle a ban, and anyone trying to build a long-term product through word of mouth and subscriptions. In this category, the built-in OS feature can replace you, and users won't remember your name.
How to do it: If you want to learn the playbook, break it into parts. Pick tools people open every time they use them (casting, remote controls, location, file transfer) and monetize purely with ads. Test cost per install and 30-day ad revenue with a small budget, then scale only if the numbers hold. Run two or three apps at once to spread ban risk. If you want to build a real product, flip it: do what it does badly. For example, build for one TV brand (Roku, Fire TV, or a local Indian TV brand), maximize connection success, keep ads light, and earn ratings and retention to climb search over time. Legitimate teams like BoostVision are already on that path, and it takes product quality.
How to get users: Buy installs in batches, time them to push the India category chart into the top 30, and let the chart and keyword search pick up some organic traffic. Write the store title and description around "cast to tv" and "screen mirroring."
When to move: There's no clear window. New casting clones appear every month. The real constraint is Google's review and ban cycle: the same-name Propx version was pulled after a little over a month.
Signs you've misread this: ① If this app or its sister app GPS Tracker is pulled or its account banned before year-end, the risk of this playbook is arriving faster than the returns. ② If no new single-day spikes appear after November and its India chart rank falls back outside the top 100, the paid campaigns probably didn't pay back, and the operator has stopped adding budget. ③ Conversely, if it keeps steadily adding a few thousand installs a day on days with no paid push and starts gathering ratings, the organic lift from chart placement is real, and "push the chart to capture organic traffic" is worth more than it looks.

Smart Cast to TV & Mirror(Google Play,com.smart.cast.to.tv.mirror.casttotvmirror.smart)
In one line: a purely ad-monetized "cast phone to TV" wrapper app, published under the developer account of a small motorcycle repair company in Katihar, Bihar, India. Its install curve comes in pulses that line up with a sister app sharing the same developer domain. It grew because of distribution (buying installs / boosting) + a borrowed developer account, not because of the product.
1. Data (googleplay library, 2026-11-06)
- Launched 2026-07-21, 502,763 total installs (store tier 500K+), +7 in the last 49,588 days; no ratings (ratings field is empty, and AppGoblin also says "Ratings not yet available"); free, with ads, no in-app purchases; version 1.0.8 (2026-11-04 updates).
- Charts: in India's Video Players Top Free chart it climbed from #140 on 10-29 to #23 on 11-06; it also ranked #120–200 in the same category in ae/it/my/fr/de/sa/gb/pl (rank bars there are low).
- Curve since launch (app_day_ext, AppstoreSpy estimates; days with observed values are reliable):
- Mid-August: about 1.8–5.6K per day, then by 8-25 about 33K, then it stopped completely (from 8-28 to 9-08 about 2 per day).
- Restarted on 9-09: 9-14 47k → 9-25 128k → 10-01 164k.
- Single-day pulses: 10-03→10-04 +75,939 (174k→250k), then 10-06→10-07 only +24; 10-07→10-08 +125,484 (251k→376k), then 10-09→10-11 only +85.
- Fell back to about 1–7K per day in mid-to-late October; 11-03→11-05 another +28k.
- This on-off, step-like curve cannot come from store search or word of mouth (organic traffic does not jump 120k in one day and drop 0 the next). It is the shape of installs bought in batches. 500k installs with zero ratings also shows that the users barely engage.
2. Who's behind it: a borrowed "organization" developer account + a small portfolio
- Play developer page: "Muktamil Repair — Trusted bike repair in Katihar…", official site muktamilrepairs.store (play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=6345500698395196820).
- Company registry: MUKTAMIL REPAIR AND SERVICE PRIVATE LIMITED, CIN U26109BR2023PTC064116,2023-07-14, registered in Katihar, Bihar; director Munir Ahmad (instafinancials / falconebiz / zaubacorp).
- The same account also holds: a bike repair info app
live.muktamil.repair(no data collection, 2026-04 updates), a classic pattern of "publish a real business app first to get the organization account through review"; Skin Tool Emotes (a Free Fire skin tool); and Idol Prank Call (a prank video call app, privacy policy at sites.google.com/view/prank-video-call-app-pp). This is what the Indian developer scene looks like when people buy or rent organization accounts (with a D-U-N-S number) to run ad-farm apps. - The developer website listed in the store is blueicegemsservice.com (it doesn't load, and has nothing to do with the US jewelry shop blueicegems.com). In our database this domain is also tied to another account, "Xyron Labs", which publishes GPS Tracker: Phone Tracker (2026-08-05 launch, 571k installs, email [email protected]). The same operator runs at least two developer accounts.
- The pulses of the two apps coincide: GPS Tracker 10-01→10-02 +86,244, 10-02→10-04 +42,963, 10-07→10-08 +30,707, then it also dropped to single digits (app_day_ext). They turned on at the same time, which points to one shared ad budget.
- The privacy policy (sites.google.com/view/smart-cast-to-tv-mirror-pp) is template-generated ("developed by Android Studio") and lists Google AdMob and Facebook SDK for Android. AdMob handles monetization, and the Facebook SDK is usually used for Meta app install ad attribution, so the paid channel likely includes Meta or Meta Audience Network (not verified in the ad library).
3. Growth tactics
| Channel | Evidence | Confirmed? |
|---|---|---|
| Batched paid acquisition / boosting (CPI or incentives) | Step-like curve of +76k in one day, then back to near zero the next day after +125k; zero ratings; sister app pulses on the same days (googleplay app_day_ext) | Shape confirmed; specific channel not confirmed |
| Meta app ads | Privacy policy lists Facebook SDK; our Meta ad library did not track this package name (we only track a fixed list, so no hit does not mean no spend) | Unconfirmed |
| Google / TikTok ads | No creatives for this package in the googleads or tiktokads libraries (both track only a fixed list; TikTok covers Europe only) | Not found |
| Store search (ASO) | Titles and descriptions are stuffed with "Cast to TV / Screen Mirroring / Smart TV"; after the category ranking rose, some organic traffic may have followed | guessing |
| Content / creators | TikHub search for "smart cast to tv mirror app" returned 0 results; x-radar returned 0 results over 30 days; the web only has APK mirror sites and auto-generated AppGoblin / Similarweb pages | None |
Where the money comes from: 100% ads (AdMob interstitial / app open / native). AppGoblin estimates about 130K monthly active users and monthly revenue of "$10K+" (estimate, unverified). Casting apps get opened repeatedly (every time you cast), so they can serve app open and interstitial ads, and CPI in a mixed India + Middle East + Europe audience can be kept very low. That is why buying installs pays off.
4. Competitors
Screen casting is one of the most crowded utility categories on Google Play, and the system already has built-in features:
- Big-platform features: Android's pull-down "Cast", Google Home, Samsung Smart View, and built-in cast buttons in YouTube / Netflix. They are free and ad-free, and the users of these apps are mostly people who don't know the built-in options exist.
- AI Mirror: Screen Mirroring TV (Insumos XP, 2026-04-124M installs, +587k in 7 days, 14.8k ratings; its developer domain infinitytoolsllc.com also hosts 4 other casting apps, including Trion AI Studio and Cast TV Apps, a larger portfolio).
- Cast for Chromecast & TV Cast (iKame/Begamob, 202B), Cast to TV, Chromecast & Roku (InShot, 202B), Screen Mirroring - TV Miracast (Sooltr, 202B), Cast to TV - Screen Mirroring (BoostVision, 20.2B, has subscriptions), Universal Tv Remote-Cast to TV (One Music Player, 59.2M).
- Same-period new shells: Cast to TV: Screen Mirror (Nikita Infotech, 2026-09-271M, +227k in 7 days), CastAll (PureSoft Studio, 2026-08-192M), TV Cast & Mirroring: All TV (Jakka Apps, 2026-06-125M), CastBeam (NITESH, 2026-09-30.1M, also with zero ratings).
- Same name: Propx App Studio's "Smart Cast to TV & Mirror" (com.smart.casttotv.mirror.smart, 2026-08 launch, 4.7–4.8K installs, 2026-09-16 delisted; AppBrain / AppGoblin). This suggests the name and template circulate within India's developer scene.
5. Differentiation
Nothing unique. Its features (DLNA / Cast for video, photos, music, mirroring), copy, and UI are the same as dozens of similar apps, and its scale is two orders of magnitude smaller than the leaders. The only real difference is its distribution structure: a borrowed organization account + a multi-account portfolio + concentrated batch buying, which pushed a zero-rating new shell to 500k installs and into the top 25 of India's category chart within weeks. Differentiation did not drive its results; distribution did.
6. Visibility and copycats
- Almost nobody knows about it: no media coverage, no X, no TikTok, no public revenue; only AppGoblin's auto-generated "$10K+/month" estimate.
- It's a follower itself: since 2026-05 in the library, at least 20 screen-casting apps launched with cast or mirror in the title, and several are already bigger (AI Mirror, TV Cast & Mirroring, CastAll, the Nikita Infotech one).
7. What to borrow
- For casting tools, where users open the app every time they use it, ad-monetized LTV is enough to cover cheap-region CPI, so people keep cycling new shells through the same playbook.
- The playbook: an organization account (small-business D-U-N-S) + one real business app to pass review → publish a utility shell → buy installs in batches alongside a sister app → some organic traffic follows the category ranking → when delisted, switch accounts and republish (as with the Propx namesake, which was taken down).
- For us, this is not a product opportunity that builds a moat. It is an arbitrage window. The bigger matrices, like Insumos XP / infinitytoolsllc, deserve more attention, since they are an order of magnitude larger.
8. Uncertain
- The specific paid channels (Meta / Mintegral / Unity / incentive walls) and unit prices are unverified. The zero ratings may also be partly fake, and we cannot tell them apart.
- Whether Muktamil itself runs the account or a third party rents it is unverified. Who is behind blueicegemsservice.com is unknown.
- AppGoblin's monthly active users and revenue are estimates.
- The account risks being banned by Play (the Propx namesake has already been taken down), and how long this lasts is unclear.
